Wrestling Newsletter Year 4 (2009)_7.8
Hello fans. Welcome back. In this issue we will cover the ongoing saga with the New HWF owner Negronomicon and all the issues he’s been working through. This reporter walked by his office and noticed that it was fairly large in size and appeared to be having furnishings brought in. Just as I peeked in, I saw that he was at his desk buried behind stacks of paper. Looks like he’s got a lot on his hands with running the HWF.
I met up with one half of the tag team champs Bubba Dudley backstage. Bubba said that he has made a promise to Devon: As long as they are the tag team champs, neither one will chase any singles titles. They agree to put the team first and not their singles careers. Bubba said that he will keep the opportunity open for a shot at the champion he wishes. He says that if and when the opportunity presents itself, he will want a World title shot.
Jay Lethal, the current X-division champ, was walking around backstage and walked into the new GM’s office. Lethal was asking what he needed to do to claim his shot at the NA title. Negronomicon stated he didn’t’ have time to discuss this right now. Lethal turned to leave and knocked over a few piles of papers. Negronomicon became furious. “Get your ass out of my office now! Oh, and since you feel you like you need to interrupt me, tell you what….You get your shot at the NA title but your X-division title will also be on the line.” Lethal started to complain but N shut the door in his face.
The newly formed team of the Big Show and Abyss met up with William Regal. They said there was a lot of pressure for them to perform so they wanted to meet the Steiners with the winner of the match getting the title shot at the Dudleys. Regal said that the match between the Dudleys and Steiners was already signed so they were told that if the Dudley’s retain the tag team titles, Big Show and Abyss would be next in line.
Mark Henry ran (not literally) into Donnie B in the back. Donnie B told Henry how much he appreciated what he did for him back in the HWF. Donnie B asked Henry if he would be interested in starting up a tag team. Mark said it was a good idea but he was really wanting to concentrate on a singles career at this time. Mark said he was going to meet William Regal to discuss his options. Regal actually met up with them and told Henry that he has a match against Randy Orton. The winner will get a future title shot (it was not specified which belt). If Henry loses, then we have a new tag team. Henry agreed.
Samoa Joe is on the rampage again. This time he drove a monster truck into the trailer that housed all the tv equipment. As things were busting in flame all around him, Joe was just staring at the flames with a creepy smile on his face.
The next newsletter will have the posting of the Top 10’s.
Wrestling Newsletter Year 4 (2009)_7.9
Hello fans. The top 10 has not been finished yet but we start off this newsletter with a closing interview from the Warrior Killer (aka Handsome G):
“Super Warrior won the battle but he will not win the war. I will be taking some time off to go train at Greg Jackson’s MMA gym in Albuquerque. I will teach all the wrestlers here how to truly fight when I come back fully trained in MMA. Yes, Super Warrior that will include you. I will learn how to eat hot peppers in New Mexico and you will no longer be able to use that to finish me. This Warrior Killer is dead but I will come back better than ever.”
It also turns out that the tag team of Rhodes and Dibiasi visited the new owner of the HWF, Negronomicon who still happened to be buried in paperwork. Cody asked him “When do we get our title shot? How long do we have to sit in this dump before someone realizes our greatness and gives us a match?” Dibiasi stood there nodding in agreement. Negronomicon stated “I don’t know what it is with all you morons. Can’t you see that I am busy? Go away and bug someone else.” Dibiasi threw in “You know, just because you’re the owner doesn’t mean you can boss us around like hired help.” Cody looked confused at this but just shook his head. Negronomicon continued “Fine, you want a title match, you can have one but it won’t be what you think. Regal and I already have plans for the tag belts so I will put the two of you in a handicap match…..against me for the North American Heavyweight title. But here is the kicker. The two of you MUST fight each other. One of you can’t sit out. If one of you does during this match, you will be fired on the spot.” Dibiasi and Rhodes nodded. “Sure” said Rhodes, “we’ll take you up on this. It won’t take long but you will see gold around my waist soon.” Dibiasi interjected “Actually Cody, I think that you meant to say that I would have gold; not you.” The two of them argued back and forth as Negronomicon ushered them from his office. “Just a little peace and quiet is all I ask.”
A few minutes pass and William Regal visits the new owner. “Sir, if I may say so, you agreed to a 3-way match for the North American title. Actually, I am supposed to be in charge of making matches and scheduling title defenses. It is in my contract after all.”. Negronomicon said “It was a spur of the moment thing. Sorry ol’ chap.” Regal felt he was being disrespected. “Sir, since I am in charge of scheduling matches, I would suggest you head down to the ring.” “Why?” the Negronomicon asked. “Well, you have a title to defend and your opponents are on their way down. Best get moving there…sir” Regal replied with a smirk on his face. Negronomicon did not look happy but went to the ring for his match anyway.
Negronomicon defends the North American title against Cody Rhodes and Ted Dibiasi in a 3-way match. Before the match began, Regal came down and said that Negronomicon did NOT have to be pinned to lose the belt. Whoever got the pin would become the new North American Champ. Negronomicon glared at the GM as the bell rang to start the match. Negronomicon started the match off against Rhodes. They locked up and Rhodes locked N in an armbar. Dibiasi tags himself in and hit the owner with a clothesline. Rhodes and Dibiasi traded punches for a few before the ref escorted Rhodes out of the ring. Meanwhile, N hit Dibiasi with a low blow but the ref didn’t see it. N connects with a Black Doom but Rhodes makes the save and tosses Dibiasi from the ring. Cody tried for a bulldog but N wiggled out of it. An uppercut from N stopped Cody in his tracks. Dibiasi tried to get in the ring distracting the ref so Negronomicon hit Cody with a low blow and followed it up with a Black Doom. Dibiasi makes the save and tosses Cody to the outside. Ted and N traded blows and Cody finally got fed up and joined his partner in beating down the HWF owner. Cody held N and as Dibiasi reared back for a knockout punch, N ducked and Cody got hit and went down like a sack of bricks. Negronomicon hits the Black Doom on Dibiasi and makes the cover. 1…2….3. Negronomicon wins the match and retains the North American title.
The next match on the card is the continuation of the feud between John Cena and CM Punk. Cena was first in the ring but Punk took his time getting in the ring. Punk finally makes it in and hits Cena with a low blow. The ref admonished him but did not DQ him. Punk continued the beatdown till Cena did his own “Hogan psyche-up” and battled back. Cena got Punk in the FU but Punk wiggled out of it. He hit his signature move but only got a 2 count. He then gave Cena a piledriver and went to the outside of the ring. He got a chair and brought it back in. Punk used it first on the ref hitting him on the head. He then went to Cena and swung…but missed. Cena kicked Punk in the gut and then hit the FU on the chair. Cena would have gotten the win but the ref was still out. Cena went to check on the ref and Punk attacked him from behind. Punk locked Cena in a texas cloverleaf but Cena made it to the ropes but no ref was there to break the hold. Punk pulls Cena back in the middle of the ring keeping him in the cloverleaf. Finally he let go and then took the chair to the hurt Cena. He was beaten across his back and then on his head busting him open. When if finally looked like Punk was exhausted, he punts Cena in the head and goes to make the cover as the ref gets up. The ref makes a very slow 1..2…3 and declares Punk the winner. The ref yelled at Punk for attacking him and Punk kicked him in the head. This brought out Regal who said that if Punk ever lays his hands on an official again, he will be banned from the sport.
Our second to last match of the night is a lumberjack match between Tommy Dreamer and The Bruiser. There were a lot of people there that were supporting the Bruiser for the way Dreamer treated and disrespected him. Dreamer did have a few buddies there and they caused lots of ruckus during the entire match. Bruiser hit Dreamer with the kendo stick multiple times causing the DQ. The lumberjacks really didn’t do anything for this match as the pro-Dreamer people were fighting with the others at ringside. Dreamer tried to get away but the Bruiser was on him like stink on poop. He followed Dreamer to the top of the ramp where he THREW Dreamer off the stage through the tables down below. Bruiser may have lost the match but I feel he got a measure of revenge. I do not believe this is over.
Our last match of the night is MW3 vs. Shawn Michaels. The winner of this match either retains Whisper’s services or wins her back (in Michaels’ case). The match really didn’t take off as Whisper got in the ring and yelled at Michaels but then they both turned to face MW3. Uh oh…..swerve……Michaels superkicks MW3 knocking him down. He then hands a pair of brass knuckles to Whisper. Michaels picks up MW3. Whisper pulls back and….stops. Michaels looks confused. MW3 drops and Whisper nails Shawn with the brass knuckles knocking him out. WOAH! Double swerve. After the match, MW3 raised Whisper’s hand and gave her a mic “You know Shawn, I’m not your property. I’m not your servant …cleaning up after you every day and night. Well, no more. I’ve had it. I have finally found a real man who treats me like a real lady.” She grabbed MW3 and gave him a big smooch. She continued “I have no use for you anymore. See you in the funny papers Gramps!” MW3 took Whisper by the arm and helped her out of the ring and they left Shawn in the ring…still out cold. The suits from the back came out to revive Shawn and help him to the back.
More to follow…..
Wrestling Newsletter Year 4 (2009)_7.10
Hello, we are back with our lastest installment. Unfortunately, the GM William Regal, HWF Owner Negronomicon and CSWA owner Jeff Meyers have yet had time to sit down and figure out what the top 10 was going to look like so we are back reporting other news.
Our first piece of news is that Brian Kendrick has been fired by the Negronomicon. I think he said he didn’t like the way his hair looked. With the HWF roster reduced, CSWA had to give up one person. HWF got, via a lotto pick, Fit Finley.
Mark Henry got his shot at Randy Orton for a future title shot. Henry dwarfed his opponent and overpowered him for the majority of the match but Randy called out Rhodes and Dibiasi who staged an attack on Randy causing a disqualification for Henry. Henry was upset at the interferrence that he went to the back and asked for a tag match with his new partner Donnie B against the team of Rhodes and Dibiasi. Regal said that this very evening, a tournament would be held to rank the tag team championship. The matches went like this:
Big Show and Abyss defeated Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin to become the #2 contenders.
The Hardy Boys defeated Cryme Tyme to become #3 in line.
The new team of Mark Henry and Donnie B defeated Cody Rhodes and Ted Dibiasi to get the 4th spot.
The next matches were based on elimination:
Cody Rhodes and Ted Dibiasi defeated Cryme Tyme to get the 5th spot.
Cryme Tyme stole a win over Haas and Benjamin to get the 6th spot.
Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin defeated the team of John Morrison and Christopher Daniels to get the 7th spot.
Most of the matches were indeed squash matches but the only one that was a blast to watch was Donnie B and Mark Henry taking on Rhodes and Dibiasi. Henry basically chased both Cody and Ted around the ring for a minute till they jumped in the ring and attacked Donnie B. The ref finally got Rhodes out of the ring and Dibiasi kept the fight to the former HWF owner. After a few minutes of getting his butt kicked, he made the tag to Henry. Henry told the ref that both Rhodes and Dibiasi could come in the ring and see if they could take him out. The ref allowed it but Henry squashed both opponents. Donnie B got tagged in and hit the Lights Out Brainbuster on Cody Rhodes. He tagged Henry back in who delivered a tremendous splash. He made the cover and got the win. It looked like they needed to scrape Rhodes off the mat.
Super Warrior was in the back still basking in the glow of his win over the Warrior Killer.
Chris Daniels was not happy with his performance in the tag match with John Morrison. He ran into Santino who has a problem prouncing his name calling him Cawiss. Daniels challenged Santino to a match with the winner getting a shot at Jay Lethal’s X-Division title. Santino. Chris went out to the ring but before Santino could head out, he was met by the HWF owner Negronomicon. “You know Santino, I like you. I think you’re funny. I think you could go far in the HWF. In fact, I’ll tell you what. Impress me in this match against Daniels and I will personally make sure you get everything you deserve.” “Thank you…uh…..sir.” Santino replied. He went down to the ring.
Christopher Daniels took on Santino for a shot at the X-division title. Santino never let Daniels get any offense in. In about 3 minutes, Santino got the win over Daniels and walked away with the 1st available shot at the X-division title.
We will be back next week with the top 10’s….for sure this time.
