HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2019 #812 – Tacoma Thunder (11/24)

Hello fans and welcome back to the HCW Wrestling Newsletter.  Today’s show comes to you live from Tacoma, WA and the crowd here is hot.  We are hosting the 3^rd round of the US Title tournament.  After the pyro goes off to begin the show, we are treated to a promo from the Masked Banana:

Leiton Snake defeats Otto Ruthless to advance

Regulator Mammoth defeats El Chango to advance with a distraction caused by the Banker

Smasher #1 defeats Butch Huber to advance

Ovaltine Jackson defeats Ivan Dragovich to advance

Baron von Blood defeats Davis Hoffmeister with an assist by 5^th Column members Karl Braun and Oswald Zimmerman.  Baron advances.

Niven Snake defeats Drew the Canadian Love Machine with an assist from Pit brothers Leiton and Tobias.  Niven advances.

Maximillian Redbeard defeats Bishop Ripley to advance

The Masked Banana forces Perfect Pecs Stoddard to submit to the B.A.N.A.N.A.S. to advance.

Terra Ryzing is backstage and he says he’s overdue for a Hardcore title shot against the vampire Dr. Red Fang.  Tonight, he achieves his destination. 

Also walking around backstage is the Anytime/Anywhere Champion Jack Lumber.  He is blindsided by Shawn ‘Abs of Stone’ Austin.  The two brawl as a ref shows up out of nowhere.  They continue the brawl and head down to the ring.  Once in the ring, things started to heat up.  Austin was dominating the champion getting a near submission after locking in a sleeper hold but Jack made it to the ropes at the last moment.  Shawn continued the pressure and hit a fisherman’s suplex.  He went for a pin but only got a two count.  Austin began to blame the ref for slow counts.  Austin started to back the ref into the corner but the ref wouldn’t stand for it and pushed Shawn off him.  Shawn turned around only for Lumber to hit him with the Axe.  Jack made the cover and got the (it may have been a fast count) 1-2-3.  Jack Lumber retains his title.  He holds his title high as the fans pop.  He then leaves after briefly interacting with the fans.  (11 min)

The Ambassador is backstage with Dr. Red Fang.  The Ambassador says that Terra thinks himself sort of a ‘terror’ and none is more terrifying than the Hardcore Champion.  The Ambassador says that Terra will fall to the wayside as all of Fang’s opponents do.  Fang snarls and growls as they walk off camera.

It is time for our main event.  First, Terra Ryzing comes out first to booing from the crowd.  He makes his way down to and into the ring.  He climbs a turnbuckle trying to elicit a reaction.  He gets one and he sneers at the booing sent his way.  Next, over the loudspeakers blares: VAMPIRE LUNGES FOR EVERYONE and out comes the Hardcore Champion Dr. Red Fang and his manager the Ambassador.  The duo are booed heavily as they make their way down to the ring.  The ref asks the Ambassador what type of rules will be had tonight and he replies with “Street Fight rules”.  The ref calls for the match to begin and the Ambassador goes to sit at commentary but he stops and whispers something to the ref and then the two shake hands.  Is something hokey going on?

Dr. Red Fang gets the win and retains his title.  He snatches it back from the ref and holds it high all the while screaming “Vampire Lunges for Everyone”.  The Ambassador joins him in the ring and holds Fang high in victory.  The fans boo as the show comes to an end.

HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2019 #811 – Phoenix Heat (11/20)

Hello fans and welcome back to the HCW Wrestling Newsletter – Phoenix Heat edition.  We cut to the office of the GM Master Bull and he’s in his office and on the phone.  “What do you mean it’s too late? …  Are you kidding me? .... I was not in charge … This is crap and you know it … Fine!”  He slams the phone down hard.  “Great, just great” he mutters before the screen goes dark.  I wonder what that was all about. 

Today’s show was just matches that took place during Round 2 for the US title.  Here is how it all played out:

Just as everything was shutting down, out comes the Ladies Champion ‘Sassy’ Maxine DeVito.  Maxine walks down to the ring and gloats about the only true champion who decided to show up “in this cesspit of a town” (and that got the fans all riled up).  Before she could continue, out comes Catalina Harper and she has a mic in hand.  She tells Maxine that if she has that much pent up energy, she should put the title on the line right now against her.  Maxine tells her to slow down and no, that’s not happening.  Catalina rushes to the ring and Maxine bails.  Catalina gets the crowd to start a “coward” chant at Maxine and she gets pissed enough to re-enter the ring.  Maxine says she will give Catalina a match but the title is NOT on the line.  Catalina says that if she defeats Maxine, she wants a title match.  “Fat chance that happening but sure, why not” Maxine replied.   The bell rings and we have our final bout of the evening.

Catalina Harper gets the win via submission and the fans give her a small pop.  Maxine rolls out of the ring and grabs her title limping to the back all the while rubbing her back from the excruciating move.  Catalina motions she will get a title shot sooner rather than later and then it will be over for the Sassy One.

HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2019 #810 – Tacoma Thunder (11/17)

Hello fans and welcome back to our wrestling newsletter.  Tonight on the show emanating from Tacoma, WA, we will have the first round qualifiers to see who advances for the opportunity to win the vacated US title. 

The show begins backstage in the office of GM Max McGillicutty.   With Max is the World Champion the Wicked Prophet.  Max blasts Prophet for so blatantly throwing the US title into a trash can.  Prophet stands up and defiantly says “The US title is trash, and the next US champion will also be trash. From dust they came and to dust they will return.”  Max says that Prophet is defending the World title tonight and throws Prophet out of his office. 

Pyro goes off and our show kicks off.  Round 1 for the US title beings tonight.  Here are the winners moving on to Round 2.

Round 2 will take place on the Phoenix show this week.

Backstage, Dr. Red Fang’s manager The Ambassador is going off at the mouth and insults the World Tag Team Champions the Steel Curtain.  They just happen to be walking by and hear it.  The champs confront him and he says that Fang can defeat the Champs all by himself.  Buzz looks at Starbuck and says “We accept.”  The Ambassador is confused.  Starbuck uses little words so he can understand.  “We…have…a…match.  We…will…win.”  Buzz smiles and adds “Word”.  The champs walk off.  The Ambassador looks concerned.

Texas Wildfire is backstage cutting a promo.  “Prophet, the last time we met, you used every dirty trick in the book and you walked out a dual champion.  You then disrespected the US title by throwing it in the trash and then felt like you had to disrespect the championship and all who came before you.  You are nothing but a spoiled ingrate.  I’m taking my title back and then you’ll have nothing.’  He then walks off.

We head to the ring for our tag team match.  First, the Steel Curtain – Buzz and Starbuck Steel – make their way out to a huge pop from the crowd.  They interact with the fans and then enter the ring to wait for their opponent.  Next, the loudspeakers blare “VAMPIRE LUNGES FOR EVERYONE” and out comes the Hardcore Champion Dr. Red Fang and his manager the Ambassador.  This match will be a handicap match with no title on the line.  Fang rushes down and gets in the ring.  He threatens to attack the Curtain but the Ambassador holds him back.  The match finally begins and Fang surprisingly held his own with a LOT of help from his manager.  After the last interference, the ref wanted to eject the Ambassador but the Curtain asked to have the match changed to a no DQ match.  At the 16 minute mark, Buzz hit Fang with the Buzzer that sent him over the top rope and crashing to the floor.  After that, the Steel Curtain blasted the Ambassador.  Buzz and Starbuck double teamed Fang before Starbuck came in and rolled Fang up with a small package (he may have had a handful of tights for good measure) and he got the 1-2-3.  The Steel Curtain get the win and the fans pop huge.  They leave shortly thereafter.  Fang and the Ambassador gathered themselves up and went to the back.  (18 min)

The World Champion the Wicked Prophet was backstage supposedly cutting a promo but he just stood there with a smug look on his face.  Finally when he spoke, all he said was “My followers have my back and I will repay them by putting out the Wildfire once and for all.”

It’s time for our main event.   First, Texas Wildfire comes out to a HUGE pop from the crowd.  He interacts with the crowd and it is apparent is the favorite tonight to win.  He makes his way into the ring and climbs the turnbuckles to even louder pops from the crowd.   The music changed and out comes the World Champion the Wicked Prophet.  The fans boo him with such disdain that it’s deafening.  Prophet ignores them all except for his little core of fans whom he acknowledges from the stage.  He saunters down to the ring ignoring the verbal onslaught sent his way.  He gets in to the ring and climbs a turnbuckle holding the title high.  The booing intensifies.  He steps down glaring at the crowd and hands his title to the ref.  He then grabs the tope ropes pulling on it to help stretch out his muscles.  The bell rings and this one is off to the races.

The Wicked Prophet “accidentally” bumps the ref then grabs a chair blasting Texas Wildfire with it.  He discards the chair as the ref recovers.

Texas Wildfire absorbs the punishment.

The Wicked Prophet is attempting a pin!!!

The Wicked Prophet gets the win and retains his title.  The fans boo persistently as the champ holds his title over his head in celebration as the show comes to an end.

HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2019 #809 – Phoenix Heat (11/13)

Hello fans and welcome back to another installment of the HCW Wrestling Newsletter.  We are back in Phoenix after an extended break following the PPV House of Horrors.  Things truly got insane on the show.  Pyro goes off kicking things into high gear when out comes the reinstated GM Master Bull.  The fans pop as Bull makes his way to the ring.  He gets in and gets on a mic.  He thanks the fans for attending and for making the PPV one of the best shows of the year.  He then goes on to go over the card tonight which will include a TV title defense as well as the US title match as our main event.  To get things going, Bull then calls out former GM Ruth Heartless.  Ruth comes down with a little less swagger in her step.  Bull tells her that he should fire her but says he will be taking the high road.  He says that Ruth is back as The Banker’s manager.  She turns to leave but Bull has her wait.  She defiantly turns around and Bull says “just kidding”.  She leaves and heads to the back but once on the stage, she produces a microphone and tells Bull that she left him a going away present.  She leaves.  Bull questions what it is and leaves the ring so the matches can begin.

Pyro goes off once again and kicking off tonight’s show is a TV title defense.  TV Champion Drew the Canadian Love Machine comes out first to a huge pop from the crowd.  Once in the ring, Drew climbs each corner turnbuckle and holds his title high.  The fans pop louder and louder.  Familiar music hits and out comes…I don’t believe it…he’s back….Scooter J.  The fans pop for his return as he stands on the stage looking out at the sea of fans.  He smirks and heads down to the ring.  He gets in the ring and climbs one of the turnbuckles and the fans pop louder.  He removes his jacket and is ready to get things started off when out comes TNT.  The fans give him a nice pop as he makes his way to the ring.  He begins to jaw jack with Scooter J accusing him of abandoning him to go “find his smile”.  The two former friends start pushing each other.  Drew comes over trying to break things up when both men turn and ATTACK him.  Scooter J and TNT begin putting the boots to Drew in a pre-match beatdown.  TNT hits Drew with the TNT and Scooter J piledrives him in the middle of the ring.  TNT leaves the ring and forces the ring attendant to ring the bell.  The fans are shocked and boo both TNT and Scooter J.  Drew shakes off the attack and hits Scooter J with a corkscrew pescado.  He goes for the cover but TNT puts SJ’s leg on the bottom rope.  A couple of minutes later, Drew tries for a second pescado but SJ nullifies it.  6 minutes in, Scooter J stuns Drew with the 10 punches but Drew exits the ring before SJ could attempt a pin.  SJ chokes Drew on the ropes but Drew drops him with a powerslam and follows it up with a superkick.  Before he could attempt a pin, TNT jumps up on the ring apron for the distraction.  TNT eats a punch from Drew and falls to the floor.  SJ hits Drew with a superkick of his own and then rolls Drew up with a handful of tights and his feet on the ropes as the ref counts 1-2-3.  Scooter J gets the win and becomes the NEW TV CHAMPION!!!  The fans boo as Scooter J takes the title from the ref and holds it high.  TNT joins him and the fans voice their displeasure at the behavior of these two.  Scooter J and TNT leave smirking.  (8 min)

Back in his office, GM Master Bull is with the combined World and US Champion Wicked Prophet.  Prophet questions why he has to wrestle the local ice cream vendor.  Bull tells him that he will not be allowed to hold two titles beyond tonight so either he will lose (Prophet interjects “Highly unlikely”) or he will need to drop it.  Prophet acts as if he was going to do that now but Bull tells him that he is on the card and he will be wrestling…no if’s, and’s or but’s about it.  Prophet walks out of the office.

It’s time for our next match which is a 6 man tag team battle.  First, the Muscles Trio (Thorpe, Weasley and McGuire) come out wearing their rainbow colored bull horns.  They hand out mini boxes of Booty O’s cereal to the fans and then make their way to the ring.  Shortly thereafter, the music changes and out comes the Snake Pit (Leiton, Niven and Tobias Snake).  The Pit hit the ring and attack the Muscles starting this one off.  The Muscles actually took control early and held it throughout half the match but after both Weasley and McGuire got injured leaving Thrope on his own, the Pit took turns beating on him.  Finally, Weasley and McGuire both make the return and start to take the Pit apart but it was too little too late.  Thrope laid on the outside of the ring trying to catch his breath.  Weasley was double teamed for the final two minutes of the match and this one ends in a draw.  The bell rings bringing this one to an official close and the two teams left without further interaction.  (30 min draw)

Backstage, Jack Lumber and the Masked Banana are talking with people when they are interrupted by Travis and Terra Ryzing – the Ryzing Storm.  Terra makes fun of them but then the Masked Banana shouts out “Maclunkey”.  Terra looks confused and Jack tells him to go online and he’ll be educated.  Terra doesn’t like to be insulted and challenges them to a match.  Lumber and Banana agree.  Looks like we have another match on the card tonight.

Next on the card is our ladies match.  First, out comes Lady Hermann to booing from the crowd.  She mostly ignores them and makes her way into the ring.  Next, the stage fills with fog and Violet Valkyrie runs out right down to the ring sliding under the bottom rope.  She gives her Ladyship a glare and then climbs the turnbuckle to a pop from the crowd.  The match begins quickly.  Violet hits a running double axe handle smash and Lady Hermann hits the Natural Selection cutter.  Lady Hermann begins to lay in with some knife edge chops (woooooo).  Violet stuns her with a jumping knee smash.  Lady Hermann lays in with the knife edge chops again (woooo).   Lady Hermann hits the ropes but doesn’t do anything.  Violet jumps on her back and takes her to the mat locking in the triangle choke.   Lady Hermann thrashed around a bit but when it was apparent she wasn’t breaking the hold, she tapped out.  Violet Valkyrie gets the dominant win in 5 minutes.  Violet stays to interact with the fans before heading to the back.

Backstage, the King of Cones Magnum Kone arrives.  He is stopped and asked about comments that Wicked Prophet made about him.  “What did he say?” Magnum asked.  He was shown the taped footage and Magnum said he’d deal with Prophet in the ring and win the US title.  After that, he will become the #1 contender to the World Title and he will take that too.

Next up, the Ryzing Storm comes out first for tag team action.  They are booed as they head to the ring.  They flip the fans off and pace in the ring.  The loudspeaker blares out “Ladies and Gentlemen…the Flannelnana’s!” and out comes the Anytime/Anywhere Champion Jack Lumber (minus his title) and the Masked Banana.  Each man goes over to their respective fan bases (Lumber to the Lumber Lounge and Banana to the Banana Boat) before meeting back up on the ramp and heading to the ring for their first ever team up.  The Ryzing Storm attacked them starting the match off.  It didn’t last long as Lumber and Banana dominated and tamed the storm.  The fans popped each time Lumber or Banana made the hot tag.  16 minutes in, Lumber hits a huge chop to the chest of Terra Ryzing and he went for the pin only for Terra to kick out at 2.  Lumber dragged him to their corner and tagged in the Masked Banana.  Banana psyched himself up, yelled “Maclunkey” again and hit the Simply Bananas.  He went for the pin and got the uncontested 3 count.  MB and Lumber are victorious in their first outing as a team.  The two celebrated with the fans before heading to the back.  (17 min)

The World Champion the Wicked Prophet is backstage with a mic.

“Did you hear the words? My prophecy manifested, and I am the World Champion. The fans of HCW will be blessed. My ways are mysterious, and you will see the light. Glory to my fans, they are deserving. They have stuck with me through tribulation and this is their reward. The hearts of the children will turn to their father’s and more will be brought into the fold.”  (If this sounds remotely familiar, he cut a similar promo but used less words this time so (his words, not ours) the Phoenix fans can understand him).



It is time for our Main Event.  First, we hear the familiar chime ring and out comes “The King of Cones” Magnum Kone.  He interacts with the fans sharing ice cream treats with the kids at ringside.  Once the treats have been handed out, he gets into the ring and removes his jacket.   The music changes and the lights go dim except for some spotlights.  We hear some angelic song and out comes the combined US/World Champion the Wicked Prophet. The fans boo the crap out of him.  He looks down on those booing with disdain.  He slowly makes his way to the ring and takes his time entering.  He shoos Magnum from the center of the ring and removes his title holding it high for all to see.  The booing intensifies.  He hands the US title to the ref and then steps over to his corner waiting for the match to begin.

The Wicked Prophet wins with a THE CRUCIFIX CLUTCH over Magnum Kone!!!

The Wicked Prophet gets the win but with this win, he must surrender the title.  He forcibly takes it from the ref and holds both his titles high.  He then leans over the top rope and upon seeing a trash can, he throws the US title into the trash.  The fans go ballistic.  Prophet smirks and climbs the turnbuckle to massive booing from the crowd as the show ends.



As soon as the cameras stopped rolling, the music changed and out coms Texas Wildfire.  TW runs down to the ring and he and Prophet begin brawling.  Prophet exits the ring quickly.  Wildfire gets on the mic and tells the fans that on Sunday in Tacoma, he is getting his rematch for the title.  With one title now gone, it will be one final 3 count for Prophet to be title-less.  The fans pop as Wildfire and Prophet jaw jack to send the fans home happy.
