HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2018 #707 – Tacoma Thunder – PPV fallout

Hello fans and welcome back to our next installment of HCW’s Tacoma Thunder. Today, we deal with some of the fallout of last night’s PPV.  As a recap, King Rad Gumbo defeated Ned Rhyerson III (with ‘help’ from Master Bull) to keep HCW securely in the hands of its owners.   This also means that the threat that was billionaire Cushman Armitge and his stooge Emmett Millbarge has effectively been squashed and GM Max McGillicutty is securely back in charge.  The PPV also showed the true colors of US Champion Jacques Beannot when he turned on his tag team partner and mentor Drew the Canadian Love Machine and sided with the diabolical ‘Singapore Sensation’ Matt Preacher.  Tonight, Jacques asked to address the fans in regards to the decision he made.

Today’s show begins with some pyro followed by the US Champion Jacques Beannot and his manager Matt Preacher making their way out to a shower of boos.   Jacques is really put off.  He takes a mic and impatiently taps his foot waiting for the noise to die down but it doesn’t.  He tells the fans to quiet down so he can speak and that only incites them all the more.  Finally, a break comes and he takes advantage of it.

“First, I’m going to speak my mind.  When I started, you fans cheered Drew even though I'm the bigger star. You Canada and US fans can stick it. From now on, I am and always will be French and damn proud of it.  In fact, I'm renaming MY title as the International Title of France.  If you don't like it, tough!”  He then translated it for his French speaking fans.  “Quand j'ai commencé, vos fans ont applaudi Drew même si je suis la grande star. Vous, les fans du Canada et des États-Unis, pouvez le coller. À partir de maintenant, je suis et je serai toujours français et fier de lui. En fait, je renomme mon titre en titre international de la France. Si vous ne l'aimez pas, dur!”  Jacques holds his new title high over his head and Preacher stands off to the side laughing.  Eventually they both leave.

Backstage, Protocide cuts a promo saying that his former drill sergeant will be leaving a little lighter tonight.  The gold he’s carrying will change hands and he promises that the pain and suffering Hensen put him through in basic training will be paid back in spades.

More pyro goes off as the first match of the night begins.  First, we hear the ear-piercing shriek of “Ice Dagger Baby” play through the loudspeakers.  Ice Dagger makes his way out to the ring to booing from the crowd.  Next, Outback Oscar comes out to a pop from the crowd.  He makes his way down to the ring and then enters it.  Oscar was successful in controlling the first part of the match but then Ice Dagger got in a cheap shot and for a few minutes, he held his own but Oscar eventually fought back and destroyed ID.  After a short arm clothesline from Ice Dagger couldn’t shut down Oscar’s offense, he decided to end it by locking in a full nelson but then dropped Ice Dagger face first on the mat.  He rolled him over and got the 3 count.  Outback Oscar gets the win and has his arm raised in victory.  ID sulked to the back.  Oscar stayed at ringside a few moments before heading to the back also. (15 min)

Backstage, Davis ‘the Hoff’ Hoffmeister is cutting a promo and has a few words for his opponent tonight.  “Ivan Dra.blah.blah. You think that attacking me costing me and my partner our match is going to make me fear you?  On the contrary, all you’ve done is piss me off.  You can’t run and hide because tonight, you get me 1:1 in the ring and tonight, I’ll show you why ‘the Hoff’ is the ‘sensation sweeping the nation’.

Next up, we have Adam Jameson and Billy Robbins making their way out to the ring to a nice pop from the crowd.  They barely make it into the ring before we hear “It’s smashin’ time” and out comes manager MJ and the Smashers.  They are booed as they make their way down to the ring.  MJ directs them to immediately attack Adam and Billy but for 4 minutes, Billy and Adam fought the Smashers off until MJ interfered giving his team the advantage and after that, it was all Smashers.  After they got tired of toying around with AJ and Billy, Smasher #2 hits Adam with a double handed choke and he goes for the pin.  Billy tried for the save but Smasher #1 rushed across the ring and knocked Billy of the apron.  Smasher #2 gets the 1-2-3 and the Smashers are back on their way up the tag team rankings.  (16 min)

We cut to pre-recorded comments from the Axe.  Axe got bludgeoned by a chain after his match yesterday with Dr. Red Fang and he was not a happy camper.  Axe promised that with his dying breath, he would rid HCW of the vampire and his jerk-off of a manager Ant Graham.  Axe says that anytime Fang wants another piece of him, he’ll be ready.

Our next match was the final one put together by Emmett Millbarge before he lost all control of HCW.   We get to see two favorites in action.  We are to assume that this will be for ranking placement in the Ladies division.  First, Ruby Rose makes her way out to the ring to a nice pop from the crowd.  After she got done psyching up the crowd, her opponent Hayley Hailstone comes out.  Hayley also got a nice reception from the crowd.  She made it to the ring and the two ladies shook hands as the bell rang starting this one off.  The match was evenly matched and neither woman seemed to give an inch.  The end of this short match was pretty spectacular to watch.  As the 6th minute of the match began, Hayley goes and nails a Tornado DDT however, it didn’t seem like Ruby’s head hit the mat as she was up almost immediately and hit an inverted DDT of her own.  She hooked both legs and was able to get the 1-2-3. Ruby Rose gets the win and the fans pop.  Ruby goes over and helps Hayley to her feet and the two shake hands.  Hayley leaves rubbing her neck as Ruby celebrates briefly with the fans before leaving.  (6 min)

Violet cuts a promo saying she’s ok but she wants Vanilla’s head on a platter.  She says that if it weren’t for Preachers interference, she would have won.  Maybe she and Vanilla need to settle this inside the confines of a steel cage.

Our next match gets the green light and Ivan Dragovich makes his way out first to booing from the crowd.  Next, Davis ‘the Hoff’ Hoffmeister comes out and the fans pop huge for him.  He makes his way down to the ring and as he enters, Ivan bails.  Davis does his thing in the ring and the fans pop louder and louder.  Ivan starts off with trying for a Samoan drop but Davis reverses it and bodyslams Ivan.  Davis hits a monkey flip but Ivan connects with a fallaway slam.  Davis is up and hits a piledriver.  He goes for the pin but Ivan powers out.  Davis hits a roundhouse kick but Ivan hits him with a jumping side kick.  Ivan goes for the pin but Davis kicks out at 2.  Ivan hits another fallaway slam but Davis hurls him out of the ring.  Ivan, frustrated, grabs his Russian chain and as Davis was trying to bring Ivan back into the ring, Ivan hits him with the chain resulting in a disqualification.  Davis gets the DQ win but Ivan continues to hit him with the chain.  He began whipping Davis with it and we could see the welts start to surface on his skin.  Ivan then set Davis up in the corner.  He wrapped the chain around his fist and then plowed it directly into Davis’ face breaking his nose.  Davis dropped to the mat and we could start to see the blood flow.  Magnum Kone rushed out to his partner’s aid.  Ivan, unable to keep up his attack, left with his blood smeared chain.  Medics had to come out and provide aid and help Davis to the back.  The fans looked on in concern.  (4 ½ min)

We make our way backstage with the Hardcore Champion Hardcore Henson and his manager ‘the Singapore Sensation’ Matt Preacher.  Henson is pacing and Preacher asks him what is wrong.  “It can’t be…there is no way it can be him.”  Preacher tries to get Henson to clarify.  “Who is this guy and why are you so flustered by it?”  Henson just shakes his head and then looks at Preacher.  “You don’t get it.  I saw him DIE.   You know, we were on a train and he fell into an abyss…”  Preacher looked at him.  “That was a Captain America movie.”  Henson replied “Art replicates life sometimes” and he walked off with Preacher looking on.

We go back to the ring for our next match.  First, ‘Bad News’ Marvin Barnes comes out first and he is booed.  He flips off the fans as he makes his way down to the ring.  Next, the music changes and out comes ‘Red Hot’ Lucas Johnston.  The fans pop huge for him as he makes his way down to the ring.  Barnes takes offense at the reception Lucas has gotten so he attacks him.  For 11 minutes Barnes controlled the match but then Lucas began to battle back and with every offensive move, the fans popped louder and louder.  At the 16 minute mark, Lucas climbed to the top turnbuckle and launched connecting with a flying body press.  He made the cover and got the 1-2-3.  Lucas gets the win and the fans pop accordingly.  Barnes tried to attack Lucas afterwards but Lucas reversed an irish whip and sent Barnes tumbling out of the ring.  Lucas celebrates as Barnes, grumbling, makes his way to the back.  (16 min)

We start in hospital following TNT. He goes to a room and enters. SJ is unconscious and has the usual hospital equipment. Sitting there is a woman and she greets Templeton warmly and uses his name.  He explains he wanted to see SJ and starts to describe the match and asks why SJ hates him. The woman takes Templeton by the hand and says, '”he doesn't hate you.  You see, Scooter J sees a younger version of himself in you and he has mentioned this to me numerous times.  He sees a great potential in you and wants to motivate you to be bigger and better than your brothers.  He truly feels you can lead the way as part of wrestling’s future.  He does understand that wrestling is an art and longs to be part of shaping it.  I don’t know if you know this but SJ did start off as, what do you call it…the job squad.  He took his beatings and found a mentor and learned the ropes.  He got here because of what he learned and hoped you would do the same.”  TNT just sat back and took it all in.

It’s time for our main event.  Tonight, the Hardcore title will be on the line.  First, the challenger Protocide comes out and the fans give him a decent pop.  Next, a disheveled Hardcore Hensen makes his way out with his manager ‘The Singapore Sensation’ Matt Preacher.  Henson keeps shaking his head in disbelief.  He makes his way into the ring and Protocide meets him face to face in the middle of the ring.  A conversation begins and then the fists begin to fly.

Just before the cameras stopped rolling, we get a treat.  GM Max McGillicutty comes out and introduces Phoenix GM Master Bull.  Both men get a pop from the crowd.
Max says that the owners kept him in the dark about Master Bull so that everything (plan C) would play out the way it was intended.  Bull apologized for the chair shots he delivered to Max but he was told to “sell” it so he did.  Bull says he’s glad the charade is over and he can go back to managing the Phoenix brand.  Bull says that a major announcement will be made at the Phoenix show which was being pushed back one day to 8/30.

With that, the show comes to an end.  We are intrigued by what the announcement could be so be sure to stay tuned.

HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2018 #706 – Reign of Champions PPV – Seattle, WA

Hello fans and welcome back to another installment of the HCW Wrestling Newsletter.  Today, live from Seattle, WA, HCW brings you our PPV Reign of Champions.  The event is sold out and people are hanging from the rafters.

To recap our show for you today, we will provide a bit of background on what transpired and how those matches have come to fruition:

One match has been scratched from tonight’s card was the Tag Team title match between the Desperados and the Mexicali Flyers.  We’re not quite sure what happened but the champions submitted medical documentation that they needed the extra time for rest and recuperation.  The match will be the main event at the Phoenix Heat show later this week.

The Steel Curtain:  After losing the opportunity to fight for the tag team titles to the Mexicali Flyers, Buzz and Starbuck still wanted a shot on the big show.  GM Max McGillicutty told them that he needed opponents for Davis ‘the Hoff’ Hoffmeister and ‘the King of Cones’ Magnum Kone and told them if they wanted to take them on as opponents, they could be on the show.   Buzz says that he respects what Davis and Magnum have accomplished and says it will be fun.  Starbuck leaned in and just said “Word.”

Axe vs Dr. Red Fang:  At our last Tacoma show, Axe was checking out to see if he was on the card and he got pushed aside by the resident vampire dog Dr. Red Fang.  Axe and Fang traded some words and Fang’s manager Ant Graham told Axe that if he was any sort of man, he’d accept a match against the Dr. at the PPV.  Axe was quick to accept which stunned both Fang and Graham so they began to deviously plan on how to solve a “problem” like the Axe.

Scooter J vs TNT:  Former tag team partners turned bitter enemies (even though on different rosters), there is enough bad blood between the two that they needed a grand stage to settle their feud on.  After Scooter J turned on his tag team partners the Axe and TNT, he’s made life for the former Templeton N Townsend a living hell.  Everyone agreed that this match needs to take place and no better than a grand stage such as our PPV.

US Champion Jacques Beannot taking on his tag team partner Drew the Canadian Love Machine.  Drew was the US champion but he felt that Jacques wasn’t ready.  After getting distracted during a title defense, Drew lost the title to Adam Jameson.  Jacques, in possession of a contract entitling him to the next title shot, immediately cashed in and defeated AJ to become the US Champion.  Drew, who was a long reigning champion asked for his rematch but Jacques declined.  Drew ended up defeating Jacques in a non-title match to earn the shot at the title tonight.

Violet Valkyrie vs Vanilla Zombie is one of the hottest feuds today.  Vanilla Zombie has been attacking people and Violet happened to be one of them.  Not one to stand by and just take it, Violet began to fight back.  Vanilla then aligned herself with her manager ‘the Singapore Sensation’ Matt Preacher and per his guidance, Vanilla continued to wreak havoc on the HCW Tacoma roster.  Vanilla got a title shot at the Ladies Title but a distraction from Violet causes Vanilla to lose the match.  Vanilla wanted revenge and that leads us to this match.  May the best lady win.

Texas Wildfire, Sonic Blade and ‘Top Gun’ Justin Winger banded together a few months ago and worked their way up the 6 Man rankings.  Tonight, they earn a shot against the champs Regulation (the Regulators and the Banker with their manager Ruth Heartless).  Tonight, we see if all their hard work pays off.

Our main event has a lot on the line tonight as both the World Title and the ownership of HCW lie in the balance as champion ‘the Ragin Cajun’ King Rad Gumbo (w/ Queen Alexandria) take on the stooge representing Emmett Millbarge and billionaire Cushman Armitage – ‘Big Money’ Ned Rhyerson III being managed by the turncoat Master Bull.  If the team of Bull and Rhyerson get the win, the future of HCW will be in serious jeopardy.  Here’s hoping the Ragin Cajun has something up his sleeve or we may all be doomed.

Pyro goes off as our PPV Reign of Champions kicks off.  The fans explode with excitement as spotlights swirl around the arena covering the fans with momentary splotches of light.  The only thing that can bring that level of excitement to an abrupt halt is the appearance of billionaire Cushman Armitage, Emmett Millbarge and Master Bull.  Bull tells the fans to simmer down and let the future owners of HCW have their say. Well, needless to say the fans voiced their extreme displeasure that was NSFW.  Millbarge said that tonight ushers in a new era…an era that they will collectively shape and nurture…the way they want it.  Armitage chimes in and says that when they win, they will be making a serious change to the Thunder show.  He wanted to wait until after their win but he’s going to spill the beans now.  When they win tonight, they will move Thunder OUT of Tacoma.  The fans practically rioted.  Cushman tried to continue but the venom the fans were spewing drowned him out.  Over the crowd’s voice, we could barely make out him saying “Everyone has a price…for the billion dollar man” and the three of them walk off.

Backstage, the team of Hardcore Hensen and Nix Anderson approach GM Max McGillicutty in his office saying that they want in on tonight’s show.  Max tells them “No. We have a full card and there is no room for you two so you will just have to wait for another day.”  Max then tosses them out of his office. Hensen and Nix look around and see someone heading to the curtain. Hensen and Nix exchange looks. ‘A segment is a segment, right?’  Nix and Hensen begin to nonchalantly make their way into the heart of the arena.

Our first match of the night kicks off with the Steel Curtain coming out to a huge pop for the night.  Buzz and Starbuck Steel made their way down as the fans cheered them on.  They got into the ring and continued to psyche up the crowd.  Next, the music changed and out comes Davis ‘the Hoff’ Hoffmeister and the ‘King of Cones’ Magnum Kone.  Davis and Magnum come out to an equally loud pop (probably because Magnum was once again giving out ice cream and you know how these fans can be…).  Magnum and Davis handed out ice cream to the kids and once they were done, they entered the ring and kept the fans pumped for this match.  Once they were done, the match officially began.  The match was practically even with neither team getting much of an advantage over the other (score was 151 to 151).  Both teams got in some double teaming and both in fact hit their signature moves but a quick response from that person’s tag team partner kept the action going.  As we rolled into the 19th minute of the match, Magnum had just locked in the armbar on Starbuck.  What no one appeared to see was Ivan Dragovich coming in through the crowd and attacking Davis.  He threw Davis hard into the steel steps and then shoved him back onto the apron before taking off through the crowd.  Davis made it to his feet but Magnum, not having seen what transpired, tagged Davis in.  Starbuck made it to his corner and tagged in Buzz.   Davis stumbled into the ring and Buzz hit him with the Buzz Cut (Diamond Cutter).  He made the cover (also unaware of the attack from Ivan) and got the 1-2-3.  The Steel Curtain get the win and the fans pop huge.  Davis looks to be out.  Magnum goes to check on him and he tells him about Ivan’s attack.  Magnum helped Davis to his feet and they left to a pop from the crowd and an appreciate nod from the Curtain.  (20 min)

We cut backstage with Dr. Red Fang is with his manager Ant Graham and Graham tells the Axe that he’s bitten way off more than he can chew and tonight, there will be a Transylvania piledriver with his name all over it.  The two leave.

While making his way to the ring, Axe tells TNT that Scooter J just can’t be trusted and even though he trusts TNT to be able to do the task, he’s going out there to watch his teammate’s back after he’s done putting a stake through this vampire.

The next match is ready to go and it begins with the never ending “VAMPIRE LUNGES FOR EVERYONE!” and out comes Dr. Red Fang and his manager Ant Graham.  These two are booed pretty heavily and this writer thinks that Fang may be one of, if not the most, hated man (can we call him that?) on the HCW roster.  The fans continue their barrage of booing as the two make their way into the ring.  Next, the Axe makes his way out and the fans pop huge for him.  He begins making his way to the ring high-fiving with the fans and as he walks by commentary, Fang tries to lunge at him as he passes by.  Axe grabs a mic and tells Graham “Hey, manager, put your dog on a leash”.  OH SNAP!  Graham takes out his mic and says “If it’s a leash match you want, hang on…here’s a dog collar.  If you’re not afraid, this match can be a dog collar match.”  Axe accepts.  Once in the ring, the ref secured the collar to both Axe and Dr. Red Fang and then started the match.  Dr. Red Fang was the more aggressor in this type of match but Axe hung right in there with him.  Fang hit a Vampire Lunge but the chain got caught up in the ropes so he couldn’t make the pin attempt.  Fang then locked in a spider web lock but Axe wouldn’t tap and made it to the ropes.  Fang goes for an arm bar but Axe reversed it and hit a huge belly to belly suplex.  Fang went for the skull crusher but Axe nullified it.  Fang dropkicked Axe from the ring but pulled him back in and went for a pin only to get a one count.  After more back and forth action, Fang dropkicked Axe from the ring again and after pulling him back in, he went for the pin but only got the 2 count this time. 18 minutes in, Fang locks the spider web lock in again but Axe won’t tap.  At the 20 minute mark, Fang hits the Skull Crusher but Axe nearly decapitates him with the Axe.  He is slow to make the cover but as soon as he does, the ref counted 1…2…and then the bell rings bringing this one to a draw finish.  The fans hoped that this would have continued but they will have to fight again another day.   Fang has his collar removed and he immediately uses the chain and snaps Axe with it stunning him.  He then wrapped the chain around his forearm and blasted Axe in the face with it busting him open.   Fang is joined by Graham and the two begin laughing until a very irate Axe wearing a crimson mask charges at them and ends up chasing the dastardly duo to the back.  (20 min draw for the match; 5 for the additional segment)

We cut backstage and we have a junior member (I think it’s someone Emmett hired) doing an interview and he asked Scooter J “So what will be your plan once TNT defeats you?” and SJ just looked at him and walked off.

Our third match is ready to begin.  First, TNT makes his way out to the ring to a huge pop from the crowd. He gets in the ring and wastes no time motioning for Scooter J to get out there.  He doesn’t have long to wait as Scooter J comes out and the fans boo him as he makes his way down to the ring.  He gets into the ring and the two former tag team partners have a stare down in the middle of the ring but as soon as the bell sounds, the two begin trading blows.  The two did not let up for 20 whole minutes.  TNT did manage to get the upper hand towards the end of the match.  As the match entered the final minute, TNT hits a standing suplex but Scooter J stuns him with the 10 punches.  Before Scooter J could go for the pin, the bell rang bringing this one to a draw finish.  Scooter J was not happy.  He rolled out of the ring and began slamming his hands on the ring apron in frustration.  Just then, Nix Anderson and Hardcore Hensen rush out and hit the ring attacking TNT.  They beat him down with Hensen hitting the Hard Times and Anderson hits him with his ukulele.  Anderson goes to grabe a steel chair and tells Hensen to pick TNT up.  Anderson makes a big production about going to hit TNT with it.  He beings to swing but just then Scooter J jumped in between them took the shot that saw the chair break from that impact.  As this was going on, the Axe was rushing down to the ring and he saw what transpired.  Hensen and Anderson bailed upon seeing the Axe and they took off.  The medics get there and a stretcher is brought in. TNT looks on with a ‘WTF just happened’ look as SJ is taken out.  As Axe is checking on TNT, a camera catches TNT muttering, 'he took the hit....for me. He took the hit'.  Axe and TNT leave all the while watching Scooter J being taken to the back on the stretcher.

Backstage, former US Champion Drew the Canadian Love Machine is cutting a promo.  He talks about his successes as a singles champion and is looking forward to taking on his protégé for the title.  Drew is confident the better man will win.

Also cutting a promo backstage is the US Champion Jacques Beannot.  Jacques says that although it may seem like he didn’t want to defend the title against Drew, this would actually be the best avenue for a match of this caliber.  Jacques tells Drew ‘good luck’ but tonight, it’s all about him retaining.  Just as he was walking off, ‘the Singapore Sensation’ Matt Preacher walked in and told Jacques that Drew is going to be the toughest opponent he’s ever taken on.  “Here, you’ll need this” and hand him, not a normal size bottle, but the JUMBO sized 5 hour energy shot.  Jacques downs it.  Oh my…

The next match is for the US Championship.  First, the challenger Drew the Canadian Love Machine comes out and the fans pop is so loud it’s deafening.  Drew makes it to the ring and keeps the crowd psyched by climbing the four turnbuckles.  Next, the US Champion comes out and the crowd isn’t actually as loud for him as they were for Drew and this time, he really noticed it.  He then rushed down to the ring, took off his jacket and called for the match to begin (I think the energy shot has him super wired…and super paranoid).

The fans don’t seem to be all that thrilled on how Jacques got the win.  Matt Preacher then came out and told him that the fans would not appreciate him and once again offered to be Jacques’ manager.  He handed Jacques a steel chair and told him that this is how he could finally be out of Drew’s shadow and stand on his own.  Jacques took the chair and contemplated hitting Drew with it.  He stopped and turned to Matt Preacher.  He then picked up the chair and began going after Preacher…only to turn around and nail Drew with it.  Drew is busted open.  Matt Preacher throws his head back laughing.  He walks over and raises the arm of Jacques and the fans completely turn on him.   He goes back over and begins putting the boots to Drew over and over until the ref got him to break off his attack.  He and Matt Preacher then left to booing (which by the way was louder than the cheers he got) from the fans.

Backstage, Violet Valkyrie is cutting a promo on Vanilla Zombie.  She says that Vanilla has run roughshot all over HCW ever since she appeared.  Tonight though, that all changes.  Violet says that she will sent the zombie back to her hole and then HCW will be free of…well…zombies.

Also backstage, Davis Hoffmeister cuts a promo calling out Ivan Dragovich for attacking him during his match.  “Listen sore loser, I’ve never been a hard man to find and even though I tend to let some things slide, this one won’t.  You want another match against me?  Fine.  You will get more than you bargained for I guarantee you that.”

Up next we have our no holds barred match.  First, Vanilla Zombie comes out with her manager ‘the Singapore Sensation’ Matt Preacher.  The two are booed as they make their way to the ring.  Preacher holds up 3 fingers (representing that he is now managing 3 champions).  Preacher takes a mic and says that this number (representing the 3 fingers he’s holding up) should be 4.  Vanilla was well on her way to becoming the next Ladies Champion but Violet Valkyrie cost her that.  Tonight, Vanilla extracts a pound of flesh in return.  He is cut off as smoke fills the stage and then like a rocket, Violet Valkyrie comes shooting through the smoke on a zip line that takes her to the ring.  She disembarks and drops into the ring.  She smiles a quirky smile at Vanilla and then climbs the ropes.  Vanilla attacks her from behind starting this one off.   Preacher also got involved early on causing distractions that put Violet off her game. 5 minutes in, Vanilla catches Violet with a chokeslam and goes for the pin but Violet kicks out at 2.   Violet would battle back hitting a running one-handed bulldog but then more taunting from Preacher made her stop.  She went over but Preacher ended up causing enough of a distraction that allowed Vanilla to attempt a roll up but again Violet would kick out.  Vanilla would try for multiple pin attempts only for Violet to keep kicking out.  Vanilla even hit a piledriver in the middle of the ring, went for a pin and still Violet somehow managed to kick out.   Violet began a comeback and as she was trying for an exploder suplex, Preacher grabbed her leg.  As Violet turned, Matt slid a chair into the ring.  As soon as Violet turned around, Vanilla hit another chokeslam but this time right on the chair.  She made the cover and this time Violet didn’t kick out.  Vanilla Zombie gets the win and uses her foot to push Violet off the chair.  She picks it up and looks like she wants to use it again but Ruby Rose and Hayley Hailstone rush out to prevent that from happening.  Vanilla and her manager then leave.  Ruby and Hayley help Violet to her feet and then to the back.  (14 min for the match; 5 for the aftermath)

We go backstage for more interviews.  First, we have the team of Texas Wildfire, Sonic Blade and ‘Top Gun’ Justin Winger.  The trio are happy to be here in front of the Washington fans as well as all those tuning in on PPV.  Winger says that Regulation is out of control and they will be the ones to reign them in.  Sonic adds that the Banker and his team of Regulators have taken advantage of loopholes in the system to ensure they are untouchable.  Tonight though, reality sets in.  TW finally adds that “change” is in order and it is up to them to restore balance to the “force” that is HCW.

The Six Man Tag Team Champions Regulation along with their manager Ruth Heartless are also cutting their own promo.  The Banker says he doesn’t know why a team as unworthy as their opponents tonight are, are actually getting a shot at the titles.  He says that Regulation is in place to prevent upstarts from upsetting the status quo.  Ruth adds in that she will ensure that Regulation walks out as the champions.  She turns but just before moving off camera, we see her take out a wad of cash.  Hey…wait a minute…

Music hits and out comes ‘Top Gun’ Justin Winger, Texas Wildfire and Sonic Blade.  The trio make their way down to the ring as the fans pop for them.  Their pop is cut short when Regulation, led by their manager Ruth Heartless, make their way out.  The fans boo as the 6 man champs head down to the ring.  The Banker and the Regulators flaunt their titles in the faces of their opponents while Ruth goes over to talk to the ref.  Winger, curious as to what is going on, walks over.  She stops and looks at the man intruding in her private space.  Winger looks at her and says “How YOU doin’?” (in the Joey Tribbiani voice).  She sneers and then slaps him across the face.  Justin smiles and his eyes go wide and Ruth bails out of the ring.  Regulation and the Banker attack TW and Sonic but once Justin joined his team, the odds were evened and Regulation bailed out of the ring delaying the start of the match.  Finally, this one began.  The challengers were on fire and the champs played a lot of defense in trying to just stay up with them.  At one point, while trying to deliver words of wisdom to Regulator Mule, she also used the Banker’s briefcase to hit Winger with.  Winger tagged in Texas Wildfire who was also on the receiving end of a briefcase shot.  He then in turn tagged Sonic in.  Sonic manages to catch Regulator Mule with a reverse cradle but Mammoth breaks up the pin attempt at 2.  After some triple teaming, Sonic hits the Alhambra Attack (tackle) on Mammoth but he only gets a one count.  Texas Wildfire gets tagged in and he runs, well, like a wildfire over Regulation.  He tags Winger in who does some of the same.  TW is back in throwing down some rapid fire punches and tags Winger back in.  Winger is then kept from his corner and even though there were some valid tags, the ref didn’t “see” it and sent them back out of the ring. Winger began getting the crowd whipped up but then for some reason, the ref pushed him to the corner saying he was being too aggressive.  The ref kept himself against Winger to prevent him from going back into the ring.  Once he finally moved, Winger was moving noticeably slower.  He looked around and appeared to be in a daze.  Regulator Mammoth moves in and locks in a sleeper hold.  He sits down in the middle of the ring with it locked in tight.  The ref raised Wingers’ arm once, twice and three times with it falling each time.  The ref then declared Regulation the winners via submission.  He raised the arms of the champs but the booing the fans were doing changed to the positive when GM Max McGillicutty came out.  Max says he was watching the replay just moments ago and it appeared that the ref and Ruth colluded and drugged Winger.  Both the referee and Ruth pleaded innocent.  Emmet Millbarge came out and told Max that the ref is the final decision maker and his decision stands.  Max says “Ok, but first, two things.”  He points to the ref.  “You are fired.  Second, because of the injustice done here tonight, when HCW returns to Phoenix, Texas Wildfire, Sonic Blade and Top Gun will get an automatic rematch with the clause that Ruth WILL be banned from ringside.”  The fans popped and Emmett and Regulation tried to complain but it did no good.  Something good is coming out from this injustice.  (18 min)

Backstage, Master Bull is with ‘Big Money’ Ned Rhyerson III.  Bull says that Big Money will be in the money, and so will he, when Rhyerson defeats Rad Gumbo.   Rhyerson says that Gumbo is nothing short of a hillbilly with a speech impediment and he’s going to say “Good By-you” to the Cajun.

The World Champion ‘the Ragin Cajun’ King Rad Gumbo is with Queen Alexandria and Gumbo says what he has to say is short and sweet.  He’ not doing this to ‘save’ HCW from Armitage and Millbarge but to rid HCW of them.  He doesn’t want or expect the fans to cheer him on.  He’s going to do his thing and whatever happens, happens.

We get a quick update on Scooter J.  After taking the chair shot from Nix and Hardcore, it was determined that the attack was so bad that Scooter J had to be put into a medically induced coma.  We’ll be sure to keep you apprised of the situation.

It’s now time for our main event.  First, the music hits and out comes Master Bull and ‘Big Money’ Ned Rhyerson III.  The fans boo the hell out of them.  As he makes his way around the ring, he sees owners Mr. B and Mr. M sitting at ringside and they are NOT happy with Bull.  He ignores them.  He and Ned get into the ring and the noise level of hatred showering these two is intense.  The current music stops and then we hear “Gumbo 7:30 says its suppa time, bitch!” and out comes the World Champion King Rad Gumbo and Queen Alexandria.  There is a very small pop for Gumbo but as he alluded to in his promo, he’s not expecting fans to jump for joy for him as he is not changing anything about himself; he’s here to ensure the billionaire Cushman Armitage and his cronies Emmett Millbarge and Master Bull are not successful in their last ditch effort to gain control of HCW.  The two men stand face to face as Bull and Queen Alexandria leave the ring.  The bell rings and this one is off.

HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2018 #705 – Phoenix Heat

Hello fans and welcome to the “go-home” show before this weekend’s PPV Reign of Champions.  Before the show begins, we have some news to go over.

First, Emmett Millbarge thinks Sarona Reiher did such a great job (even though she lost) in her match with Hayley Hailstone that he wanted her moved to the Tacoma roster.  In her place, he opted to send Scarlett Phoenix down to the melting pit that is Phoenix AZ, home of the Phoenix Heat show.

Second, there was a battle royal that took place at an offsite show (not televised) that had Leiton Snake get the win after eliminating El Dragon Insano.  After the match, Leiton is attacked by Niven Snake.  Leiton dumps him out of the ring.  He grabs a mic and tells Niven “I’m the ‘Seth Rollins’ of the group and you’re the ‘Roman Reigns’.”  BURN!  Tobias, who was standing at ringside, asks “Who does that make me?”  Leiton tells him “You’re the freakin Lunatic Fringe Dean Ambrose dude!”  Tobias is like…”well…ok.”

At that same show, there was a backstage altercation between TV Champion Nix Anderson and the Unknown Assassin.  Anderson attacked the Assassin and the two had to be separated.  Anderson told UA that he would put the TV title on the line on the 8/22 Heat show.

The show begins with pyro going off.  Otto Ruthless comes out first and the fans boo him as he walks down to the ring.  Next, ‘the King of Cones’ Magnum Kone comes out pushing his ice cream cart down to the ring.  He hands out a few cones and then enters the ring.  Otto attacks him and the match begins.  The attack is thwarted almost immediately and Magnum beat Otto all over the ring.  Otto tried to get away but Magnum kept up the attack and called for the popsicle (piledriver) hitting it in the middle of the ring.  He makes the cover and gets the 3 count.  Magnum gets the win and then leaves the ring to hand out more ice cream and then heads to the back.  (5 min)

We head backstage where the Steel Curtain (Buzz and Starbuck Steel) are cutting a promo against tonight’s opponents the Mexicali Flyers.  The winner of the match tonight is next in line for a shot at the tag team titles.  Buzz says that it’s been a while since the Flyers have been here and look forward to the match with the veterans.  Starbuck leans in and says “Word” as the segment ends.

Our next match is ready to go.  First, Wilber Townsend makes his way down to the ring as the lights dim and he’s carrying a lantern.  He gets on the mic and reminds us that his “blood” TNT is wrestling against Scooter J and he’d better not let the family down.  TNT comes out to a pop from the crowd and enters the ring.  He takes the mic from Wilber and says that he doesn’t care what Wilber thinks…he is NOT a Townsend anymore.  He is TNT.  The fans pop.  Wilber says that TNT needs a warm up match and then motions for the bell to ring for this impromptu match.  The two family members fought all over the ring and actually took it to the time limit with no resolution.  The bell rang bringing this one to a draw finish.  Wilber then sat back and began to laugh.  TNT looked at him like he’d lost his mind.  He kept laughing and when TNT walked over and asked what the hell he was laughing at, TNT is blindsided and attacked by his PPV opponent Scooter J.  Wilber sat there and laughed as an exhausted TNT tried to fight back but fell victim to the onslaught from Scooter J.  Scooter J hit TNT with a superkick and then stood over him as the fans booed.  Scooter J flipped off the fans and left.  Wilber got up and laughed some more before leaving.  TNT was helped to his feet and then helped to the back.  (20 min draw; 5 extra for the additional segment)

Backstage, the Mexicali Flyers (Tornado en Fuego and El Dragon Insano) (via subtitles) say they are happy to be back and look forward to taking on the Steel Curtain.  They are excited to have a shot at the titles and they feel that this may be their final run so they will make it count.

We head to the ring for the next match.  First, 5th Column member Baron von Blood comes out to booing from the crowd.  Next, the fans pop huge as Texas Wildfire makes his way down to the ring.  He climbs each of the turnbuckles getting the crowd psyched up.  The match begins with TW totally owning his opponent but to the Baron’s credit, he kept kicking out of all the pin attempts.  Wildfire kept the pressure on and it took 19 minutes but TW finally got a pin after locking in a standing armbar and turned it into a pin.  Baron von Blood was too exhausted by this time and succumbed to the 3 count.  TW gets the win and the crowd popped for him as he made his way to the back.  (19 min)

The Unknown Assassin is backstage with his manager J C Dykes and Dykes says that Nix Anderson is a coward and once he is done with him, he’s sending Anderson home in a pine box.  Dykes says that if Matt Preacher tries to interfere in this match, he’ll slap him into next week.

Our ladies match is up next.  Scarlett Phoenix makes her way out first and gets a pop from the Phoenix crowd.  She seems content in her new home.  Next, the Duchess makes her way out and the fans boo her.  She sneers and yells back at them as she makes her way to the ring.  The Duchess attacks Scarlett by throwing her right into the steel post.  She began working over Scarlett’s arm and even though she tried to fight her off, the Duchess kept the pressure on.  At the 5 minute mark, the Duchess locked in the All Hail her Majesty and used the ropes for extra leverage making Scarlett tap out.  The Duchess steals a win and laughs as her arm is raised.  The Duchess begins to jawjack with the fans from the ring but she turns around and Scarlett hits the Black Widow.  The Duchess is out.  The fans pop as Scarlett makes her way to the back.  The Duchess eventually gets up and then storms to the back.  (5 min)

TV Champion Nix Anderson is backstage with his manager ‘the Singapore Sensation’ Matt Preacher and he says that Dykes and the Unknown Assassin are a bunch of crybabies.  UA lost the belt fair and square and now he’s mad and stomping around pouting.  Nix holds the TV title up and says that it’s not going anywhere and he’s walking out with his title.  Preacher then addresses Dykes’ comment and laughs saying that Dykes slaps like a baby so he has nothing to worry about but if he wants a piece of him, he won’t be hard to find.

Our next match on the card is the Steel Curtain vs the Mexicali Flyers for the next shot at the Tag Team titles.  The winning team gets their match at the PPV too.  First, the Mexicali Flyers come out to a pop from the crowd.  After they made their way to the ring and got the crowd psyched up, the music changed and out comes the Steel Curtain.  As Starbuck and Buzz made their way out to a pop from the crowd, they are immediately attacked from behind by Elitism – Reid and Roderick Rothchild.  They beat down the Curtain and then turn and leave.  Medics came out from the back to check on the Curtain and were asked if they thought they could continue.  Buzz and Starbuck both said yes.  They made it to the ring, shaken but still standing.  The match begins with El Dragon Insano hitting the Guerrero stomp on Buzz.  Buzz makes the tag to Starbuck.  ‘Buck hits the ring and hits the Out of this World dropkick but El Dragon hits him with a neckbreaker but gets a near fall with a 2 ½ count.  Buzz is tagged back in.  Buzz hits El Dragon with a reverse neckbreaker but El Dragon catches him with the neckbreaker.  Tornado en Fuego hits the ropes and knocks Starbuck off the apron.  El Dragon makes the cover and gets the 3 count.  The Mexicali Flyers get the win and will not only get the next tag team title shot against tonight’s winners but get to do it at the PPV.  Congrats to the Flyers.  (3 min).  The Flyers help the Steel Curtain up and end up shaking hands. The fans popped HUGE.  They all eventually left.

The World Tag Team Champs the Desperados say that they have a heavy week with a title defense tonight and a potential defense in just a couple of days.  Leon Teremoto says that Croc and Oscar are good but they are not at their level.  El Chango says he tried to go for a singles title and failed so tonight, Croc and Oscar will get his full attention and he and Leon are walking out the champs not only tonight but will retain against the Flyers on Sunday.  Leon says “See you then”.

The TV title defense is next.  First, the Unknown Assassin and ‘the honorable’ J C Dykes come out and they are booed and heckled all the way to the ring.  Next, the TV Champion Nix Anderson and his manager Matt Preacher come out and they are equally booed.  Nix smirks as he makes his way down to the ring.  He gets in the ring and walks to the center and gets in the Assassin’s face and holds the title mere inches from it.  Nix laughs and then steps back holding his title high.  He hands it to the ref and this one is ready to go.  For 4 solid minutes, the two traded blows back and forth.  Things got interesting at the 5 min mark.

===== In the 5th minute of the match: =====

Nix Anderson rolled OC.

The Unknown Assassin rolled OC.

"The Singapore Sensation" Matt Preacher executes a Punch referee resulting in a disqualification

Nix Anderson was disqualified due to "The Singapore Sensation" Matt Preacher's interference in the match!!!

The Unknown Assassin wins with a Punch referee over Nix Anderson via disqualification.

The Unknown Assassin gets the win but since the title does not change hands on a DQ, Nix is still the TV Champion.

Both men and their managers eventually left the ring.

Master Bull is with Ned Rhyerson and he talks about how they’re going to take the belt off the Cajun, send him packing, and then rule HCW with an iron fist.

It’s time for our main event.  First, the Crocodile Hunter and Outback Oscar make their way out to a pop from the crowd.  Next, the champs the Desperados – El Chango and Leon Teremoto – make their way out also to a pop from the crowd.  The match began almost immediately and the champs kept the upper hand for the majority of the match.  Croc and Oscar got in some good shots but the double teaming from the champs relegated them to playing defense.  At the 7 minute mark, El Chango caught Croc with a flying spinning heel kick and immediately hooked the leg getting the 1-2-3.  The champs retain their belts in a relatively short match.  Both teams left with the Desperados getting the final pop before heading behind the curtain.

The show isn’t over yet as we have our contract signing between the World Champion Rad Gumbo and his PPV opponent ‘Big Money’ Ned Rhyerson III.  The table is set up and Emmett comes out with Master Bull and Ned.  Gumbo comes out with Tacoma GM Max McGillicutty.  There is a bit of jaw jacking before both men signed the paper confirming their match this Sunday.  Emmett began to mock Max and Max grabbed a chair and began to chase Emmett to the back.  Master Bull attacks him and the two begin to brawl.  Meanwhile back in the ring, Gumbo and Ned also begain fighting and took their fight out of the ring and began heading to the back.  Ned slams Rad’s head against the the wall and then throws Gumbo off the stage.  HOLY SH*T! chants rang out from the crowd.  The show ends with Ned standing on the stage looking down at Gumbo in a crumbled heap on the concrete floor below.

The PPV is next.  Stay tuned.
