Hello
fans and welcome back to our latest edition of HCW’s Phoenix Heat. After the cameras stopped rolling after the
previous episode of Tacoma Thunder, GM Max McGillicutty came out and told the
fans that the Tag Team Champs Hoff n Spicy didn’t want to end the show the way it
did so he’s decided to set up a no DQ/CO match between Jack and Superquake vs
the champs but this would be a non-title match.
If Jack & Ferguson can get the win, they would receive a future shot
at the titles. For 6 minutes, the challengers
took the match to the champs but Figgy once again provided intestinal fortitude
to his team and they came back strong.
Davis hits Superquake with a flying dropkick and secured the 3 count and
a victory.
As a
recap, 6 matches have been signed for the PPV and we expect 3 more to be
announced before the end of today’s show.
The
show kicks off with the 5th Column (Baron von Blood, Oswald
Zimmerman & Karl Braun) making their way out to booing from the crowd. Next, the Snake Pit (Leiton, Tobias &
Niven Snake) and the crowd gives them a small pop. The Pit get in the ring and then do a
collective fist bump. The Pit dominated
the match barely allowing the Column to get much, if any, offense in. Multiple triple teaming wore down the Column
quickly and all it took was a buckle bomb from Leiton Snake to bring this one
home. The Snake Pit get the win. They do another fist bump in the ring and
then leave. (13 min)
We cut
backstage with GM Master Bull welcoming back El Gato Negro to the fold. El Gato
says she’s recuperated with the time off and is ready to get back into action
beginning with winning the Ladies Battle Royal later this evening.
We go
back to the ring for our next match.
First, the mad Russian Ivan Dragovich comes out and is booed. Next, the Crocodile Hunter comes out to a
HUGE pop from the crowd. Ivan doesn’t
take to it too well and he attacks Croc.
Croc only needed a minute or two to get into his groove and once he did,
he took the fight to Ivan. After hitting
multiple dropkicks to the leg of Ivan, the big Russian was finally off his
feet. He struggled to his feet favoring
his leg. Croc swooped in but Ivan caught
him but his leg gave out. Croc turned it
into a bodyslam and hooking the injured leg, he got the 1-2-3. The Crocodile Hunter gets the win. As he is celebrating in the ring, the US
& TV champion the Unknown Assassin (without his mouthpiece J C Dykes) comes
out and stands on stage starring at Croc.
The two lock gazes and starred daggers at each other. UA smirked and then left. Croc left moments later. (16 min)
Texas
Wildfire is backstage and he says he’s pumped for his match tonight against
King Wilber Townsend. He expects the
King to cheat but he’s sure he’ll be the clear winner tonight.
As we
go back to the ring for more action, Outback Oscar comes out first to a pop
from the crowd. Next, the crowd begins
to sour and boo as Scooter J makes his way out.
He flips off the fans not caring what they think. Oscar goes on the offensive early but SJ
battled back. Music interrupted the
match and up on the Omegatron it displayed the picture of Tacoma superstar
Brick. Scooter J got pissed and began
yelling expecting Brick to come out. He
never did. Scooter J turned around and
got a kick to the gut and then Oscar small packaged him getting the 1-2-3. Outback Oscar gets the win and the fans
pop. He leaves as Scooter J complains to
the ref. When the ref tried to blow him
off, Scooter J whipped him around and sucker punched the ref. Well, that will cost him. Scooter J storms off as the fans boo
him. (8 min)
Elitism
(Reid and Roderick Rothchild) are backstage with their manager the
Ambassador. The Ambassador says he’s
still against his two teams going head to head in the steel cage. Someone is bound to get hurt. Reid steps up and says “Yeah, it will be the
Curtain tasting steel in the form of a cage.
You two have pushed us to our limits and we’ve had enough.” Roderick leans in and comments “You two
think you’ve been the best on the planet for so long and when a team comes in
to strive for your spot (not your dog spot or a liver spot), you cry like
little babies. It’s OUR time and tonight
we prove it to the world.”
The
next match begins as Texas Wildfire makes his way down to the ring to a HUGE
pop from the crowd. He climbs each of
the turnbuckles pumping his fist in the air and the fans eat it up. He steps down from the turnbuckle as the
music changes and out comes King Wilber Townsend. His Royalness makes his way down to the ring
ignoring the fans as he feels they are below him. He steps into the ring and removes his robe
and crown and the match is ready to go.
Just before the bell can ring, the Super Shockmaster rushes into the
ring and attacks TW. He beats him down
until security comes out and takes him away.
The ref is ready to call off the match but Wildfire says he still wants
to have a go at it. For about 9 minutes,
TW held his own taking it to Wilber but after that, Wilber connected with a
lifting sideslam on the outside of the ring planting him on the exposed
concrete. After that, TW struggled to
even stay on his feet. Wilber connected
with the Go to Sleep but somehow TW kicked out. Wilber was shocked. Wilber
continued the beatdown and finally finished TW off with another lifting
sideslam. King Wilber gets the win and
leaves the ring almost immediately. TW
gets to his feet and demands a mic. He
calls out the Super Shockmaster for this cowardly attack and demands a match at
PPV against him. SSM doesn’t come out
but Master Bull does and Bull says that the match is now officially added to
the PPV AND it will be a Last Man Standing rules match. The fans pop for TW as he’s helped to the
back. (18 min)
The
Steel Curtain are backstage cutting their own promo. Buzz says “Elitism…sounds
kinda gross. Sounds like something you get after you lose…’I got
Elitism’”. Starbuck says “Dude, you
better get that checked out. You might
need some ointment for that.” Both men
laugh but then get serious. “We’ve said
it before and we’ll say it again” Buzz comments “you’re not getting ‘over’ at
our expense so buckle up and put on your big boy pants as things are finally
going to get REAL tonight.” Starbuck
leans in and says “Word”. (A side note…
the fans chimed in at the same time repeating Starbuck’s phrase).
It’s
time for the full roster ladies battle royal.
All of the women went to the ring and the final one to come out is the
returning El Gato Negro who probably got the loudest pop from the crowd. Before the match could begin, the Ladies
Champion Taylor Bella made her way down to the ring and went to sit at
commentary. During the match, the
Duchess got eliminated by Southern Belle who mouthed off saying this was what
was going to happen to her when they meet up again. Scarlett Phoenix went to dump Belle out of
the ring and the Duchess pulled on Belle’s arm taking her out of the ring and
eliminating her. The Duchess smiled and
walked off. Sarona Reiher went on a tear
eliminating ladies left and right until Missy Chick dumped her out of the ring
but then was immediately eliminated by Ravishing Raquel. This brought us to the final two competitors
in Ravishing Raquel and El Gato Negro.
Master Bull comes out and says that he wants this to be a knock down
drag out fight between the two to see who really wants this. Raquel turned up the volume to 11 and stunned
El Gato. Just as she was setting up for
the Simply Ravishing, El Gato reversed a whip and ended up hurling Raquel over
the top rope and down to the floor below eliminating her. El Gato gets the win and now is going to the
PPV to meet Taylor Bella. Taylor gets in
the ring and starts to talk smack to El Gato.
Master Bull comes out once again and says that he has a surprise announcement. He said that El Gato will go to fight for the
Ladies title HOWEVER, Ravishing Raquel, for being the second to last
competitor, gets a Money in the Bank contract for a future shot at the Ladies
title. Raquel immediately signs the
contract and says she’ll be seeing one of the two of them sooner rather than
later.
The Steel
Cage is lowered and we’re getting ready for our main event. Only one team gets to move forward and
challenge for the World Tag Team titles.
First, manager the Ambassador comes out (he’s still against this match
happening) and introduces first the Steel Curtain (Buzz and Starbuck
Steel). They come out and are mostly
booed but the small pop they get seems to be growing. Next, the Ambassador introduces his other
team Elitism (Reid & Roderick Rothchild) and they come out to a pop from
the crowd. Buzz and Starbuck are pacing
in the cage like a pack of wild dogs.
They are bound and determined to win this match up but Reid and Roderick
are just as pumped and this will be one for the record books. Reid and Roderick entered the ring and the
two teams stared down at each other.
Buzz and Starbuck backed up a little and gave them the d’a X chop (not
to be confused with the DX chop as that would be trademark infringement). Starbuck takes a mic and says “We’ve got two
words for ya…kiss out asses!” Buzz leans
over and says “Uh ‘Buck, that’s three words.”
“Ya, I know!” Starbuck exclaims as he hands the mic off.
Both
teams beat the holy hell out of each other with each team hitting some huge
moves that elicited “Holy Shit” chants from the crowd. Both teams gave it their all and then
some. The fans actually ended up popping
for both teams. We join the match at the
15 minute mark.
