HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2017 #558

Hello fans and welcome back to our wrestling newsletter. Our PPV is now less than a month away and the 3 day event is shaping up to be a fantastic show.  In addition to that, there will also be a Fanfest taking place earlier in the week and there will be an addition announced for the HCW Hall of Fame.  The latest HOF addition will be announced in the coming weeks.

The show starts off back in GM Max McGillicutty’s office.  The Mexicali Flyers arrive (Tornado en Fuego & El Dragon Insano).  Max thinks the Steel Curtain has been under the guise of the Flyers this entire time.  Max demands the Flyers unmask.  They refuse.  Max offers to have them do it in the privacy of his office and they still say no.  Max sighs and says that not only are they (the characters) fired but also whoever’s under those masks.  The Flyers leave as the Steel Curtain (Buzz and Starbuck Steel) walk up.  Max is perplexed.  Buzz Steel says that it was not cool to fire the Flyers just because he had bad intel.  Max tries to apologize and Starbuck says he doesn’t want to hear words but see actions.  Buzz demands a tag team tournament be held tonight with the winners getting a shot at the tag team champions.  Max agrees and says he’ll make it happen.  The Steel Curtain leave.

Pyro goes off and the show gets ready to begin.

Match #1 is the first match in the tag team tournament to see who goes on to challenge Pete & Magnum for the tag team belts.  First, Butch and Ferb Huber come out and are booed.  The Steel Curtain come out next and get a HUGE pop.  They waste no time and go right on the offensive.   Ferb tries for a Gator Roll but Buzz nullifies it.  He tags right out to Starbuck.  Ferb nails Starbuck with a sitout scoop slam piledriver and just as he was going for the pin, Buzz ran in and hurled him out of the ring.  He followed him out and hit the Buzz Cut on the floor.  Ferb was not able to get back up in time and ended up getting counted out.  The Steel Curtain advance after a countout win.  (2 min)

The Crocodile Hunter is backstage and says he has the perfect opponent for the Savior and it is none other than HCW’s own rabid vampire – Dr. Red Fang.  He laughs knowing that the Savior is not.

We head back to the ring for our next match which is the second in the tag team tournament.  First, the Golden Stars (Hollywood Star & the Gold Standard Bruce Biltmore) come out to a mixed reaction.  Next, the Desperados (El Chango & Leon Teremoto) come out and are booed.  They don’t care.  The Desperados just destroyed the Golden Star (66 to 19) and in a moment, that all changed after the Hollywood Star dragged Leon out of the ring and hit a spear on Leon against the unforgiving steel post.  Leon crumpled.  El Chango went out to try to help but he was not able to get him back into the ring in time.  The Desperados end up getting counted out.  The Golden Stars are one step closer to a shot at the tag team titles.  El Chango was pissed.  (8 min)

CJ then makes his way out to the ring and says that unfortunately Reid is not around as he doesn’t want to show his face (he actually was on the previous show) and says he has exclusive footage from Reid’s time in the slammer.  He asks the guys in the back to run the tape.  A video plays of a guy in jail (we never see his face) but it has the name (instead of a number) “Rothchild” on it.  There are LOTS of innuendos during the film and CJ and the fans have a great laugh.  CJ reminds Reid that it is not over between them and as soon as Reid has the BALLS to show up with him on a show, he’ll teach him a lesson.

The Axe is a backstage and he says that he’s officially announcing a match between him and Talon McFrost for the PPV.  He expects McFrost to show up and get his ass beaten like a government mule.

We head back to the ring for our first of 5 (if it goes that long) between Drew the Canadian Love Machine and Texas Wildfire.  If TW can win 3 of the 5, then he will get the title shot at the PPV.  TW comes out first and gets a huge pop.  Drew comes out next and his pop is just as loud.  The two men shake hands in the ring as the bell rings.  For the first 8 minutes, TW looked to be the stronger of the two but then Drew turned it up and then owned the rest of the match.  TW, to his credit, kept kicking out of whatever Drew threw at him.  At the 22 minute mark, Drew took TW down with a handstand headscissors.  Just as he was setting up for the Lover bomb, TW connected with a leaping DDT out of nowhere and hooking the leg, he got the 1-2-3.  Texas Wildfire wins this first of 5 and is on his way to earning a title shot. (Match of the night).  (22 min)

A quick video is shown highlighting lots of high spots executed and then ends with “Do not try this at home.”

Dr. Red Fang with his manager Ant Graham come out first.  Next, the Savior comes out and he looks nervous.  Savior has a mic and as he approaches the ring, he starts up.  “Now, this match made by Croc is nothing but a crock.  I know that Fang, you don’t want to really fight me do you?”  He offers the mic to Fang who shrugs and says “not really”.  Savior starts up again “And I don’t want to fight you good Dr. so what do you say that we both leave here without breaking a sweat so we can stick it to Croc.  What do you say?”  Fang looks at Ant Graham and then nods yes.  They both start to leave and the Savior turns telling them to ring the bell.  He then starts to beat down on Fang who immediately fights back.  We only get 3 minutes in before Ant accidentally slugs the ref resulting in a DQ finish.  The Hardcore Champion the Stache runs down and attacks Fang and the two of them brawl all the way to the back.  The Savior wins this one by DQ.  (3 ½ min)

Max states that the next match will determine who will be the #1 contenders to fight Pete the PUN-isher and Magnum Kone for the titles at the PPV.

It’s time for the main event.  First, the Golden Stars come out to booing from the fans.  Next, the Steel Curtain come out and the fans pop huge.  Just like in their last match, the Stars were not looking all that great so we still aren’t sure how they were able to advance but they did so here we are.  We join the match at the 20 minute mark.

HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2017 #557

Hello fans and welcome back out our HCW newsletter.  GM Max McGillicutty comes out first and says that he will allow the Savior and Croc to pick each other’s opponents (just not themselves).  The Savior gets to pick tonight’s opponent and the Crocodile Hunter gets the next show.

Our first match is a challenge for placement in the world title line up.  The challenger Texas Wildfire comes out first and gets a HUGE pop from the crowd.  Defending his spot, Jerry Saunders comes out next and is booed.  As was expected, TW owned the match and only needed 6 minutes and a hangman’s clothesline to get the 1-2-3.  Texas Wildfire is now in the top 10 lineup for the World title and the Best of 5 will start at the next show.  (6 min)

Backstage, the Hardcore Champion the Stache arrives and is told he’s in the main event tonight defending his title against ½ of the Tag Team Champions Pete the PUN-isher.  The Stache laughs saying he thought he was going to have a challenge tonight.  He’s reminded that the Ambassador will be in Pete’s corner.  “Ok, now this will be interesting” the Stache says and continues on his way to his dressing room.

Our next match is ready to start.  Master Bull and ‘the Elitist’ Reid Rothchild come out to scout.  Handsome Hernandez makes his way out first.  Music plays and “Ice Dagger Baby” plays over the loud speakers and the Ice Man Cometh.  Dagger makes his way down to the ring.  Hernandez, the aristocrat, wants to impress Reid so he can be considered for Prestige Inc.  Hernandez could not believe that Dagger was going toe to toe with him.  After glancing over at Reid and Master Bull who seemed a little bored, got Dagger in the Cross Armbreaker and made him tap out.  Hernandez gets the win via submission and sees that Reid and Bull looked impressed and were taking notes.  Hernandez smiles and leaves.  (11 min)

Bull and Reid remain at ringside as we cut to our backstage segment.  The Savior walks into Max’s office and says he knows who he wants Croc to fight.  Max asks who and the Savior says “his own partner… Outback Oscar”.  He laughs and then walks away.  I guess we know who Croc will be taking on later.

We go back to the ring for the next match and Baron von Blood comes out first.  Next, Ivan Dragovich comes out and he gets a small pop from the crowd.  These two still have bad blood between them.  They waste no time going after each other.  For roughly 8 minutes, Ivan threw the Baron around like a rag doll.  After Baron dropped Ivan with a blitzkrieg stunner, things went his way.  Baron kept locking Ivan in the Modified Gas Chamber (submission hold) but Ivan wouldn’t quit.  Finally, Baron hit Ivan with the Nuremberg Neckbreaker and with his foot on the ropes, got the 1-2-3.  Baron von Blood wins this one.  He gets his arm raised and then leaves pretty quickly.  (14 min) 

Reid tells Bull they have to stick around as his wife is up next.

Felicia Cummings comes out first to a small pop from the crowd.  Next, Ravishing Raquel comes out and the fans are split 50/50.  Half of the crowd cheers her but half are not happy with her change in attitude.  Raquel doesn’t seem to mind and she goes right on the offensive.  The match stayed pretty even throughout.  Master Bull goes to stand up to go to her corner but Reid has him sit back down.  In that brief distraction, Betsy Cummings who was hiding under the ring pulled Felicia out and slid in.  She then executed an (illegal) switch rollup and with her feet on the ropes, she got the 1-2-3.  The ref looks at Betsy thinking something didn’t look right but Betsy left the ring pretty quick.  Felicia took off through the crowd as to not be seen.  Raquel was extremely pissed off.  (13 min).  Raquel takes the mic and challenges Felicia to a rematch.  We’ll have to wait and see what Felicia’s response will be.

Master Bull and Reid Rothchild then left and headed to the back.

Outback Oscar comes out first for the next match and gets a pop from the crowd.  His opponent (and tag team partner) the Crocodile Hunter comes out next to a slightly better pop from the crowd.  The two partners shake hands but just before the match could begin, the Savior comes out to go sit at commentary.  The two kept the match pretty clean much to the Savior’s dismay.  He kept screaming at them to get them to fight but they refused.  As the match was nearing the time limit, Outback Oscar, clearly frustrated with the Savior’s constant yacking, rolled out and slugged him much to the delight of the fans.  The bell rang immediately thereafter signaling this one ended in a draw.  Oscar rolls back in and shakes his partner’s hand much to the delight of the fans.   Croc waves at the Savior smiling and then departs while the Savior gets up rubbing his jaw.  (20 min draw)

Upon evidence provided by Gardinia Blue, Max believes the Steel Curtain have been wrestling under the guise of the Mexicali Flyers and feels they need to be disciplined for wrestling under suspension.  Max calls the Flyers asking them to be at the next show.

It’s time for our MAIN EVENT:  First, the Ambassador comes out and introduces ½ of the Tag team champions Pete the PUNisher.  Next, the music from ‘Bonanza’ plays and out comes the Stache to what seems the loudest pops of the night.  The Stache makes his way to ringside and then warns the Ambassador to not get involved.  The ref asks the Stache what type of match he wants and he chooses ‘Ladder Match’.   The belt is then raised above the ring.  Ladders are brought out but Pete goes right on the offensive but the Stache easily thwarts any offensive attempts.  Pete managed to battle back after catapulting Stache into a ladder.  For 10 minutes, taking in the advice from the Ambassador, Pete started to tear into the champ.  He went for many quick pin attempts in hopes of wearing out the champ.  Things started to go the champs way after he nullified the PUN-ishment.  A couple of minutes later, the ref got hit by a flying ladder and was out.  Once he started to wake up, the Stache turned it up to 100.  He took a ladder and using it, hit a baseball slide to Pete’s groin.   Stache goes for the pin but Pete kicks out.   Stache hits the Whiplash and goes for a pin but only gets a 2 count.   Pete tries to throw Stache over the top rope but it is reversed and Stache hits the Caballero and tries for a quick pin but Pete grabs the rope.  Pete hits the PUN-ctuation and then begins to climb the ladder.  The Stache follows him up and prevents him from grabbing the belt.  Stache then nails a superplex from the top rung of the ladder and then both crash down to the mat.  The Stache makes his way up the ladder (dragging out the suspense) and then finally grabs the belt bringing this one to a conclusion.  The Stache retains his belt and celebrates on top of the ladder.  (24 min)

All of a sudden, Dr. Red Fang rushes out and tackles the ladder sending the Stache flying from the top of the ladder straight onto the announcers table.  The table gives way with a tremendous crash.  Fang picks up the belt that was dropped and as the show was ending, screamed “VAMPIRE LUNGES FOR EVERYONE!”

HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2017 #556

Hello fans and welcome back to our newsletter.  We are back in HOT Phoenix (where did Spring go?  Oh yeah, that was in January).  The show kicks off in GM Max McGillicutty’s office and he’s with former US Champion Texas Wildfire.  Max tells TW that he feels bad about putting him on the spot like that asking him to wrestle twice and then losing the title.  He wants to make it up to him and says he is granting TW his immediate rematch tonight against the Ragin Cajun Rad Gumbo.  TW thanks him and leaves.

The first match kicks off Kimberly Kiccass vs Scarlett Phoenix.  The former world champion comes out and makes her way down to the ring.  Scarlett Phoenix comes out next to a huge pop from the crowd.  Kimberly jawjacks saying she wants her title back and will use Phoenix as a stepping stone.  She goes right on the offensive but Scarlett is there matching move for move.  After about 15 minutes, the former champ kicked it into high gear.  Scarlett struggled to match her move for move but still held in there.  Both women noticed the clock was running down and Scarlett tried for the Black Widow but Kimberly reversed it hitting a Toronto slam.  She was close to the ropes so as she made the cover, she hooked both legs and put her feet on the rope for leverage and it got her the 1-2-3 with only seconds to spare.  Kimberly laughs and has her arm raised.  She looks once more at Scarlett before leaving.  (19:56)

We go back to Max’s office and the Savior is in there complaining that he was made to sign a contract under duress and that it’s not legal or binding and complains about getting screwed over in HCW’s version of the Montreal Screw Job.  Max says he’s had enough of the Savior trying to get out of this match.  He has to deal with the fact that it will happen.  The Crocodile Hunter comes in and tells Max that he’s willing to wait AND HE will not lay a finger on the Savior as long as the match happens at the Zero Hour PPV.   Max says the match is officially on the books and the same goes to the Savior for not touching Croc.  Croc turns to the Savior and tells him that they will have a special stipulation and their match will be an I Quit match.  Croc laughs and leaves as the Savior complains but no one will listen to him.

We go down to the ring for our next match.  Super Shockmaster vs The Fiend.  The Fiend comes out first to a huge pop and he is followed out by the Super Shockmaster.  Adam Jameson makes his way out and he just wants to go after SS.  SS sees him, laughs, and ignores him.  The Fiend steps up his game only to be thrown out of the ring.  He is back in quickly but SS is still jawjacking with the ref.  SS whips the Fiend into the ref and he goes down.  He turns to AJ inviting him to attack but grabs a chair and threatens to use it.  AJ and the Fiend doubleteam SS getting the chair away.  The Fiend then hits the Last Caress (DDT) on the chair that SS dropped.  The ref begins to recover and AJ takes the chair and leaves.  The Fiend makes the cover and gets the 1-2-3.  The Fiend gets the win and then leaves almost immediately. AJ slides back in with the chair and attacks SS and the two brawl and have to be separated.  SS laughs at AJ.  AJ, even with a little bit of revenge, still is fuming.  (6 min for the match, 4 additional for the segment)

King Wilber makes an appearance via taped video.  He says he sees turmoil in the top 10 of the World title and feels he will thrive in it.  Says he has his sights set on the title and it doesn’t matter who’s the champ, they will fall to him.  “ALL HAIL THE KING”

Our 3^rd match is ready to begin as Angry Jack Lawson and Handsome Hernandez make their separate entrances to the ring.  Jack hasn’t been very ‘angry’ as of late and that ‘fire’ missing in him allowed Hernandez to make short work of Lawson.  Jack ends up getting counted out just past the 5 minute mark giving the win to Hernandez. (5 ½ min)

El Gato Negro appears and says that once again, the Duchess is costing her her livelihood.  She doesn’t know when to let well enough alone.  She says that she’ll have to remind the Duchess that it’s never good luck to mess with a black cat.

Our next match is a spot qualifier.  Phat Sol challenges Tobias Snake for his spot for the hardcore title.  This one was a bit surprising as Phat is appearing to do much better without the weight of the Ambassador hanging around his neck.  He and Tobias almost go the distance but after locking in an abdominal stretch, Phat turned it into a pin attempt and got the 3 count.  Phat Sol is now in the top 10 for the hardcore title and Tobias is out.  (18 min)

Tag team champs Pete and Magnum w/ the Ambassador cut a promo saying that the whole Mexicali Flyer situation will play itself out as even they could see that there was something up with that team.  Pete says you’d have to be blind to not see it.  Magnum tells Pete they need to worry about the Snake Pit and Pete tells him they have this one in the bag.  Magnum tells him not to stick his hand in that bag or he may get bit.

It’s time for the rematch for the US title.  The former champion Texas Wildfire comes out first to a huge pop.  Next, manager MJ comes out and introduces the NEW US Champion (while “Gumbo 7:30 says it’s suppa time bitch” blares through the speakers) and the Ragin Cajun Rad Gumbo comes out and he is booed.  He smirks and makes his way down to the ring.  GM Max McGillicutty comes out and says to avoid this one losing on a technicality, he makes this a no-DQ match.  MJ took plenty of opportunity to assist the champ and it paid off until TW decided he’d had enough and dropped the manager with rapid-fire punches.  He turned around only to get caught in the cottonmouth clutch.  Rad turned it into a pin attempt and with his foot on the ropes and a handful of tights, he gets the 1-2-3.  Rad Gumbo retains his title.  He yanks the belt from the ref and then joins MJ as they celebrate while heading to the back.  (13 min)

It seems that both CJ and ‘The Elitist’ Reid Rothchild are in the building.  CJ goes to the ring and calls out Reid.  Reid comes out laughing.  CJ comments that there are people here in Phoenix (cheap pop) that haven’t seen the video.  Reid obliges and shows the video.  CJ reminds him that two can play that game and introduces two of Phoenix’s finest.  He asks them to arrest Reid for destruction of private property.  Reid yells as he’s handcuffed.  CJ laughs.  Master Bull runs out and says he’ll get this taken care of as Reid is taken away.  CJ celebrates with the fans and then leaves.

Max calls TW into his office and says he was impressed with his and Drew’s match at the tribute show so he wants to see TW fight Drew in a best of 5 series.  If TW wins the best of 5, he gets a title shot at the PPV.  TW agrees but Max has one more stipulation…TW must defeat someone in the top 10 to earn this spot.  Max picks a name out of a hat…Jerry Saunders.

Its’ time for our main event.  Representing the Snake Pit (using the Freebird Rule), Leiton and Niven Snake come out.  Once in the ring, the Ambassador comes out and introduces the Tag Team Champions Pete the PUN-isher and ‘the King of Cones’ Magnum Kone.  The champs held the Pit to no offense for the first few minutes with lots of double teaming.  However, as the match progressed, the Pit got better and the tension between the champs kept growing.  It finally got to a point where the Ambassador had to pull them both out of the ring and yell at them which almost cost them the match as Magnum slid back in just before they got counted out.  The Ambassador saw that this one was not going to end well so he smacked Niven Snake with his lead cane.  Magnum made the quick cover and got the 1-2-3.  Magnum Kone and Pete the PUN-isher retain their belts.  They continued to bicker in the ring as the show came to an end.

HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2017 #555 – Road Trip to Montreal

Hello fans and welcome back to our newsletter.  HCW is in Montreal, Canada and the show is SOLD OUT.  They are literally hanging from the rafters (thanks Gorilla Monsoon).  It turns out that a friend of the Crocodile Hunter worked with GM Max McGillicutty to make this happen.  Max comes out to a pop from the Canadian crowd and says he’s not sure when they will return to Montreal so he says tonight’s card will be a show like no other and will be packed with 7 matches.  Pyro goes off and this one is ready to get underway.

Our first match sees Phat Sol come out by himself (minus the Ambassador) to a mixed reaction from the crowd.  Next, the Crocodile Hunter comes out and gets a HUGE pop from the crowd (you’d think he was from Canada but he’s Australian).   Phat didn’t go quietly into the night; in fact, he had one of his best outings and no manager to hold him back.  Of course, during the first few minutes of the match, the Savior came out and sat at commentary.  He and Croc traded dirty looks the entire match.  Phat took complete advantage of that.  Just as the match was nearing the end, Croc hit two falling overhead kicks but didn’t have enough to get the pin.  The bell rang bringing this one to a time limit draw.  The Savior wasted no time in hitting the ring attacking an exhausted Croc but he had enough in his tank to brawl with the Savior all the way to the back.  (20 min)

Back in his office, Max says that he’s had to let UFCM Brooks go as he was worthless to the roster.  He introduces new character standing in his office…Red McNulty.  In his debut match, Red will team with fellow Irishman Perfect Pecs Stoddard to take on the Smashers.

We move on to our second match and this one will be for the TV title.  The challenger, ‘Red Hot’ Lucas Johnston comes out with his manager the Ambassador in tow.  Lucas makes it to the ring and then asks for a mic.  He promptly FIRES the Ambassador and tells him to “Get the HELL out of here”.  The Ambassador takes off in a huff.  Next, the TV Champion ScooterJ comes out and he’s booed but he doesn’t care.  ScooterJ immediately goes on the offensive.  However, Lucas, like his partner earlier, was in rare form and took the match to ScooterJ (who by the way didn’t take Lucas seriously until it was too late).  The champ nailed 10 punches but Lucas kicked out.  Lucas mounted a comeback and began wailing on the champ with quick forearm smashes.  Lucas then surprised everyone by making the cover, hooking the leg and getting the 1-2-3.  ‘Red Hot’ wins the match and becomes the NEW TV CHAMPION.  ‘Red Hot’ was red hot tonight and the fans pop for him.  He parades around the ring with his new title and then leaves.  (14 min)

Ravishing Ruby Princess says ever since her program with Raquel (the OTHER Ravishing one) ended, she’s languished in obscurity.  Tonight that changes.  She will make a name for herself.

Also backstage, Phat confronts the Ambassador about leaving him high and dry.  The Ambassador said that Phat can’t seem to do anything on his own so it is apparent that he needs some serious help.  Phat says that he no longer needs the Ambassador and fires him.  The Ambassador doesn’t seem to be all that concerned. 

Match #3 gets underway with Red McNulty and Perfect Pecs Stoddard came out and got a mixed reaction from the crowd.  Music changes and manager MJ leads the Smashers out and they are booed.  Smasher #1 takes a mic and insults the crowd.  Smasher #2 calls their opponents “worthless like those shitty teams of the 80’s – who did they have?  Road Warriors?   Clowns.  Rock N Roll Express?  Clown shoes.  The Horsemen?  (the fans pop)…the stuff you wipe your asses with.”  The fans get nasty and start to throw stuff at them and the Smashers just laugh.  The Irish Icons (yeah, they called themselves that) took it to the Smashers and both traded the lead even with MJ’s interference.  Finally, Pecs nailed Smasher #2 with a Brogue kick and MJ saw the writing on the wall so he belted the ref causing the DQ.  Red McNulty and Perfect Pecs Stoddard get the win.  After the match, the Smashers questioned why MJ hit the ref when they had control over the match.  All of a sudden, Red and Pecs attack them and beat them down.  MJ starts laughing.  MJ takes a mic and says that he’s firing the Smashers because they can’t seem to win anything and he now manages the Irish Icons.  They stand tall with MJ and then eventually leave.  (16 min for the match; 4 additional for the segment)

The Savior is backstage and cuts a promo.  “That moron Crocodile Hunter…He’s about as clueless as you can get.  All it takes is a little ‘poking the bear’ and he gets confused.  Not surprising from someone from  ‘down under’…a rock.  Croc, go crawl back under that rock.  Me, it’s time for me to spring back into action and take back my title from that smoldering ember and bring back honor to the S.H.I.T. championship.”

Also in a different interview area, Croc cuts a promo:  “Listen up 'mate, I don't take too kindly to hecklers by the ringside.  You haven't even begun to experience the pain that comes from the thunder from down under. A Crocodile can tear its victim in half if hungry enough - and today was just a taste of blood. You call yourself the Savior? You better have someone come save you 'cause once I lock jaws - ain't nothin' gonna be able to pry me off.”

Match #4:  Ravishing Ruby Princess vs Madame Jade.  Madame Jade comes out first to a pop from the crowd.  Ruby comes out next and she is booed and it seems like her feelings are hurt.  She goes from looking sad to determined and attacks Jade before the bell.  She hurls Jade out of the ring but she’s back in quick.  Madame Jade nails a slingshot suplex.   Jade then takes a page from Ruby’s playbook and drags her face on the ring rope.   Jade then connected with a vicious uppercut. Ruby has basically been nullified until she hurled Jade over the top rope.  She followed her out and Jade into the ringside steps and then dumped her over the ringside barrier.  She made it back in the ring and Jade ends up getting counted out.  Ravishing Ruby wins the match via countout.  She stands victorious but then leaves after she sees Jade stirring.  (4 ½ min)

A promo from US Champion Texas Wildfire airs and he says that the Savior will never take the US title from him and he promises to still be standing victorious once their match is over.

Match #5:  Mexicali Flyers vs the Ryzing Storm (Travis ‘Dark Storm’ Ryzing and Terra Ryzing).  The Ryzing Storm comes out first and are booed.  Next, the Mexicali Flyers come out to a huge pop.  They are over huge here in Canada.  The Flyers immediately kick things off and for the first 5 minutes were in control.  All of a sudden the Tag Team Champions Pete the PUN-isher and Magnum Kone came out to scout the match.  The Ryzing Storm took advantage and began showing what they could do.  The Flyers then began doing a lot of the same moves the Steel Curtain doing.  (Max is backstage watching and is getting more suspicious).  Tornado en Fuego then hits the Buzzkill (a move that Buzz Steel uses) and covers Terra for the 1-2-3.  The Mexicali Flyers get the win and stare at the champs who stand up and begin to have words with the Flyers but they eventually leave.  (14 min)

The World Champion Drew the Canadian Love Machine and tells Reid that he can bring all the help he wants but his title isn’t going anywhere.

A video airs of CJ standing outside of his (destroyed) Escalade and he is HOT.  He looks at the camera and tells Reid “two can play that game…whenever you have the BALLS to get in the ring with me…the hashtag will be here.”

We go back to the ring for our US title match.  Match #6:  Texas Wildfire vs the Savior.  The Savior comes out first and he is booed pretty heavily.  The champ Texas Wildfire comes out next and gets a pop that is deafening.  The Savior, pissed off, attacks TW.  TW fights back with rapid punches but the Savior hits a Brainbuster.  TW hits a snap powerslam but the Savior hits a package DDT.   Savior hits a second package DDT but then the Crocodile Hunter runs out and the Savior takes off through the crowd with Croc in tow.  The ref count to 10 and counts the Savior out.  Texas Wildfire retains his belt.  (3 min)  GM Max McGillicutty comes out and lets us know he was disappointed in how this ended and asked TW if he’d be open to wresting someone else.  TW says sure and it looks like we will have a new match.  Manager MJ comes out and introduces ‘The Ragin Cajun’ Rad Gumbo.

Match #7:  Texas Wildfire vs Rad Gumbo for the US title.  Those two package DDT’s that TW took affected him during this match as his game was off.  Rad and MJ took advantage of that and even with the fans backing him, TW had a real hard time staying on his feet.  Gumbo stayed one step ahead of TW the entire time.  Every power move from Rad jostled TW all the more.  Rad finally locked in the Cottonmouth Clutch taking TW to the mat.  He maneuvered it into a pin and the ref counted 1…2…3.  Rad Gumbo gets the win and is the NEW US CHAMPION!  TW can’t believe it.  Rad and MJ parade around the ring while TW is helped out of the ring.  (14 min)

Backstage, ‘The Elitist’ Reid Rothchild is with his manager Master Bull and he says that tonight, new gold is coming home with him.  Even though the Elitist title is the Universal title and is greater than anything, holding that and the World title will be something only he can accomplish.  Master Bull remains behind Reid and just laughs.

Max meets up with Texas Wildfire and apologizes for putting him in that spot effectively costing him the title.  He tells TW that at the next show, TW gets his rematch for the US title.  Max comments that if TW is unable to reclaim the US title, he wants to have a conversation with TW about a new direction.

We cut to another pre-taped video from the Buzz and Starbuck Steel – the Steel Curtain.  This time, they are slushing and slaloming down a mountain.  Buzz executes a double flip before landing on his skis.  Starbuck comes down on his snowboard and skids to the bottom spreading snow everywhere.  Buzz looks at the camera and says that they will be back before the fans know it.  Starbuck leans in and says “Word”.

It’s time for our main event.  First, Master Bull comes out and introduces ‘The Elitist’ Reid Rothchild.  Reid and Bull head down to the ring.  The music changes and the World Champion Drew the Canadian Love Machine comes out and the place literally explodes.  This guy is a true hometown hero and the fans here just love the guy.  Reid is pacing in the ring and holds his hands over his ears as the noise is so loud.  Drew arrives and hands the title to the ref.  The ref holds it high and Reid immediately attacks Drew.  Drew fights him off.  Master Bull decided to get involved and got knocked on his ass by Drew.  For 6 minutes, Drew had control but Master Bull got involved again and this time Reid took control of the match.  For the next 6 minutes, Reid controlled the pace until Drew reversed a Rothchild Stunner and nailed the Lover Bomb.  Drew then took back control of the match and after catching Reid coming off the top rope, he hit a bodyslam and made the cover hooking the leg to get the 1-2-3.  Drew the Canadian Love Machine retains his title and wins the match.  Drew celebrates in the ring and when Reid tried to sneak attack Drew, CJ (we didn’t think he was here) runs out and he and Reid brawl all the way to the back.  Master Bull decides to try to take out Drew but Drew catches him and nails a corkscrew pescado.  The fans pop huge and the show comes to an end with Drew celebrating with the Montreal fans.  (15 min)

HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2017 #554

Hello fans and welcome back to our newsletter.  It seems that things are starting to heat up around here and I’m not talking about the Phoenix weather. 

Today’s show begins back in GM Max McGillicutty’s office and he is with HCW’s forensic investigator Gardinia Blue.  Ms. Blue states she has run some video and it seems that the Mexicali Flyers have has some similar moves to the Steel Curtain.  Max says the Curtain are on suspension and they wouldn’t risk breaking that…would they?  He says he’ll need to gather more information.

Pyro goes off and we are ready to get our first match underway.  Court member Lady Hermann comes out first to booing from the crowd.  Next, El Gato Negro comes out and she gets a big pop.  El Gato was destroying Lady Hermann and after numerous near falls, the Ladies Champion the Duchess came out and provided some words of wisdom to her Ladyship.  Just as the match was nearing the time limit, El Gato hit the Gato Leap and was going for the 9 Lives but Lady Hermann caught her with a spear in mid-air.  The fans POPPED!  Lady Hermann made the cover and (the Duchess held El Gato’s leg) she got the 1-2-3.  Lady Hermann wins the match with seconds to spare.  El Gato was not happy.  The Duchess and Lady Hermann left and Duchess was giving her a talking to as they made their way to the back.  (19:46)

There is commotion backstage as the Crocodile Hunter attacked the Savior beating him down.  “How do you like that?  HUH?”  He then locked the Savior in an Ankle Lock and as the Savior screamed in pain, Croc threw down a contract and a pen and demanded the Savior sign it or he wouldn’t let go.  The Savior quickly signed it and Croc let him go.  He picked up the contract and walked away smiling.

Match #2 is ready to begin.  Billy Robbins comes out first to a pop.  Next, his opponent Hangman #3 comes out.  He’s booed but he doesn’t seem to care.  Billy goes on the offensive with rapid punches. Hangman #3 hits the ropes and connects with a knee smash. Billy then hits a slingshot over the top rope and Hangman goes crashing to the floor.  Billy motions for him to return but he shrugs him off and walks away.  He ends up getting counted out and Billy wins this one by countout.  (1 ½ min)

Ant Graham is backstage and he says he outsmarted those morons (the 5^th Column) by bringing in his new stable.  He says it will be a pleasure to watch them get beat up again tonight.

We head back to the ring where Jesse California has already made his way into the ring.  Music changes and Phat Sol and his manager the Ambassador come out.  They head to the ring.  Phat with the Ambassador’s help, controlled the first 3 minutes but after that, Phat seemed to struggle.  It could have had something to do with the Ambassador leaving Phat behind (maybe he was trying to watch him succeed or fail on his own.  Fail he did.  Jesse just wiped the mat with pool Phat and after toying with him for almost 15 minutes, brought this one to an end after hitting a flying dropkick.  Jesse gets the win in dominating fashion.  After the match, Phat recovered and went to the back to find his manager.  (18 min)

Talon McFrost says that Axe is mad because someone went the distance against him.  Tonight though, he will beat the Axe and then really rub it in.

Match #4 kicks off with the 5^th Column (Karl Braun, Oswald Zimmerman and Baron von Blood) heading down to the ring.  The fans still don’t care for them regardless of what Ant’s new team has done to them.  Ant and his new team of Dr. Red Fang, Mason the Mangler and Ice Dagger come out and they are booed because of their association with that very questionable manager.  Ant and his new team destroyed the Column and it wasn’t pretty.  Fang and the Mangler tore the Column apart.  Ice Dagger delivered precision moves that basically nullified the Column.  While Ice Dagger and Fang were brawling with Oswald and Karl on the outside of the ring, Mason hit a running knee to the face of the Baron.  Ant then choked Baron while Mason distracted the ref.  Baron dropped in the ring and Mason nailed a bang-bang piledriver and mercifully pinned Baron von Blood.  Ant’s team is victorious and win this one in dominating fashion.  Ant and his team left to booing from the crowd as Dr. Red Fang screams “Vampire lunges for everyone”.  (9 min)

(Former Queen) Beckett issues a challenge to the Duchess challenging her for her title and the crown.  The Duchess says she agree but only with the stipulation that if Beckett loses, she leaves HCW.

Match #5 starts off with Talon McFrost coming out to the ring.  Next, the Axe comes out and he makes a beeline for the ring.  He gets in trying to start something early but the ref holds him back.  Max comes out and tells them that their time limit has been extended to 25 min.  Once again, Axe tried every dirty trick in the book but Talon was right there with him.  This match was about as even as they can get.  Axe tried a few times to get Talon to submit to the bearhug or tried for a pin after hitting the Axe but Talon kept kicking out.  Talon hit the Cold Stone but couldn’t pin the Axe.  Both men hit each other with a clothesline and both went down.  The next thing we knew, the bell rang signifying this 25 minute fight is over.  Talon McFrost has once again gone toe to toe with the Axe and held his own.  Exhausted, the Axe starred daggers at McFrost and the ref got them to go their separate ways.  We don’t think this one is over.  (25 min)

The Elitist Reid Rothchild and his manager Master Bull come out and call out CJ who (conveniently) isn’t there.  Bull tells CJ that “we told you you’d be sorry” and tells the guys backstage to run a video.  He cuts to a shot from outside of CJ’s house (HOW THE HELL DID HE FIND OUT WHERE HE LIVED?)  Reid is there and approaches CJ’s Escalade.  He begins bashing out all the windows with a sledgehammer laughing as he did it.”  Video ends.  Reid and Bull are in the ring laughing.  Reid tells CJ that this is only the beginning and he is not done with him…not by a long shot.

It’s time for our Main Event:  The Duchess vs (former Queen) Beckett for the title and crown.  Beckett comes out first to a mixed reaction from the crowd.  The Duchess comes out accompanied by the Court and surprisingly, she gets a good pop.  The Duchess makes her way down to the ring by herself.  The ref takes the title and crown and holds them up for all to see.  The Duchess controls the match but the former Queen begins to battle back.  The Duchess gets a little worried and calls for the Court.  The Court (Lady Hermann and the British Crippler) hit the ring and attack Beckett. The ref disqualifies the Duchess for outside interference awarding the match to Beckett but since she didn’t win the belt, is she out?  That question is answered when Max comes out.  Max says that due to the interference, Beckett is not forced out however, she will get a measure of revenge.  She can choose a partner of her choosing and take on the Court at the PPV.  If she wins, she gets to stay however if she loses, she’s out of HCW.  Beckett seems to be happy with that decision.

HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2017 #553

Hello fans and welcome back to our newsletter.   Today’s show begins as Southern Belle makes her way out.  She takes a mic and calls out Lexy Flexx.  Lexy appears on stage asking what Belle wants.  Belle issues her a challenge for her title spot and she is doing that now.  Lexy heads to the ring seemingly put out.  Belle really went to town on her opponent and Lexy couldn’t believe she was on the losing end.  She ends up bailing out of the ring and gets counted out.  She thinks she outsmarted Belle but once the ref awards the match and new spot to Belle, she gets all flustered and tries to complain but no one seems to listen.  Belle moves up in the rankings while Lexy moves down.  (4 ½ min)

The Ragin Cajun Rad Gumbo arrives with his manager MJ. Gumbo says he’s not waiting to get into the ring so he calls out Dude USA Mick Rude and challenges him for his spot.  That match will be later.

We head back to the ring for our next match.  Superquake Ferguson comes out first to a pop from the crowd.  His opponent Mason the Mangler comes out next snarling (um…who does he think he is…Dr. Red Fang?) and hits the ring and immediately attacks Ferguson.  Ferguson battles back and even keeps Mason’s ferocity in check.  Ferguson and Mason end up brawling outside of the ring and then Superquake HURLS Mason into the crowd.  Ferguson makes it back in just before the 10 count and wins this one via countout.  (5 ½ min)

Backstage, the Desperados (El Chango & Leon Teremoto) say that they will prove that the Mexicali Flyers are up to no good and if given the chance, they will unmasked them.

It’s time to return to the ring for more action.  Ice Dagger makes his way out first to a so-so reaction from the crowd.  Next Adam Jameson makes his way out to a pop and he’s still wearing bandages from the attack by the Super Shockmaster.  Adam looked like he hadn’t lost a step and he outwrestled his opponent.  Ice Dagger looked more like an ice cube (and a melting one at that) however, it seemed that he wasn’t putting his all into this match.  Finally, AJ caught him with a spin kick and he made the cover to get the 1-2-3.  Adam Jameson gets the win.  (18 min).  A loud cackling reverberates as the Super Shockmaster makes his way to the stage.  He is laughing.  Adam takes off after him but SS stands his ground.  Adam attacks but SS overwhelms him and drops him with a vicious helmet smash to Adam’s face busting him open once again.  SS wipes AJ’s blood on the other side of the mask, laughs some more and then leaves as medics come out to check on AJ.

The Mexicali Flyers are backstage and they don’t understand why people are confused by their appearance.  El Dragon Insano says that when wrestling in the US, you have to bulk up and that explains why they appear different.  Tornado en Fuego says their wrestling speaks enough for them so they are done talking.

It’s match time again and it stars with manager MJ leading the Ragin Cajun Rad Gumbo down to the ring as “Gumbo 7:30 says its suppa time bitch”.  Next, Dude USA Mick Rude comes out to a pop since they don’t care for Gumbo.  Gumbo waits until the bell rings and goes right on the offensive.  MJ provided plenty of advice for Rad and he took it all to heart. In fact, Rad DOMINATED the match and Mick Rude couldn’t do anything outside of try to just stay on his feet.  MJ finally called for the finish and Rad locked in the Cottonmouth Clutch.  Dude USA appears to pass out so Rad let go and made the cover to get the pin.  Rad Gumbo wins the match and moves up in the rankings.  Rad takes the mic and tells Texas Wildfire that he’s coming after that US title.  (15 min)

The Elitist Reid Rothchild and his manager Master Bull approaches CJ and tells him to apologize.  “For what?” CJ asks.  Reid replies “For saying I steal gimmicks”.  CJ chuckles.  “Well, you do.”  Reid gets pissed.    “Take it back.”  CJ replies “No.”  Reid is adamant.  “I said take it back.”  CJ stands up and gets into Reid’s face.  “And I said no.”  Master Bull says “You’ll be sorry” and he and Reid walk away.  CJ sits back down and says “o….k….”

Backstage, the Axe storms into GM Max McGillicutty’s office.   Axe says that Talon McFrost is NOT in his league and if he had 30 minutes, he would have proved he could beat him.  Max counters and says that it’s very possible Talon would have beaten him had it gone to 30 minutes.  Axe stares blankly at Max and shakes his head.  Nevertheless, he wants a rematch against Talon.  Max says he will grant it for the next show.  For now, he has a show to run so he tells Axe to take a hike.  Axe storms out.  Max then turns on the monitor so he can watch the next match.

The Desperados (El Chango & Leon Teremoto) come out first and are booed.  Next, the Mexicali Flyers (Tornado en Fuego & El Dragon Insano) come out and get one of the loudest pops of the night.  The Desperados attack them before they can get into the ring and this one is off like a shot.  The Flyers fought back and even took the lead a few times.  Leon and El Chango both tried numerous times to remove the Flyer’s masks.  El Chango actually got El Dragon’s off but he was wearing a second mask underneath.  Leon nailed Tornado with a spinebuster and tried to unmask Tornado en Fuego.  The Flyers just about had enough.  El Dragon threw a chair into the ring to Tornado and he blasted Leon with it causing the DQ.  The Desperados win this one via DQ.  El Chango pulled Leon out of the ring and the two chose not to get back in with Tornado wielding a chair.  The Flyers tried to get them to come back but the Desperados chose to leave instead.  (11 ½ min)

Ant Graham is backstage with the 5^th Column and he says that all is good with them.  Karl Braun looks at his manager and his upper lip curls.  Graham says the Column is united and they will dominate as never before.

We head back to the ring for our Ladies match of the evening.  Scarlett Phoenix comes out first to a good pop from the crowd.  Next, the British Crippler comes out and she’s with the new leader of the court – the Duchess.  Duchess gives some words of advice and then leaves.   The Crippler hit the Crippler by Nature but only got a one count.  After that, Scarlett pretty much handled the Crippler with no problems.  Scarlett dazzled the Crippler with her speed connecting with flying bodypresses, and victory rolls.  Finally, the Crippler locked in a rear naked choke but as she was trying to take Scarlett to the mat, the Phoenix came to life connecting with the Black Widow.  Scarlett made the cover and got the 1-2-3 and the win.  She celebrates with the fans before leaving.  (14 min)

Max was watching the match from the back and he agreed that the Flyers do in fact look different.  He begins to question if something is up.  Max places a call to his forensic investigator Gardinia Blue and asks her to start looking into it.

It’s time now for our main event involving 6 man tag team action.  First, led to the ring by their manager Ant Graham comes the 5^th Column (Baron von Blood, Karl Braun & Oswald Zimmerman).  Ant seems to have everything under control.  Next, their opponents come out and Otto Ruthless, Ivan Dragovich and Wendell Hammerschmidt all come out to a pop from the crowd.  The Column yell at the fans to shut up but that only makes them get louder.  The ref announces that this match will have a 30 minute time limit as the previous two matches were so short.  It didn’t take long for Ant to get involved and paid the price with Ivan locking him in the Accolade.  The Column used that as a distraction to weaken their opponents.  Karl Braun took Otto to the outside and planted him with the Flying Krautline.  Baron and Oswald double-teamed Wendell and after hitting the Flatliner, Oswald made the cover to get the 1-2-3.  The 5^th Column win this one.  All of a sudden, 3 men ran out. It was Ice Dagger, Mason the Mangler and Dr. Red Fang.  They immediately attack the 5^th Column beating them down.  The new team also dispatched Wendell and Ivan.  The new team stood over the column and Ant Graham crawled back into the ring.  Graham then FIRED the Column from his employ saying they never protected him.  Now, he has 3 people who will.  Ant Graham now manages Ice Dagger and Mason the Mangler now it seems along with Dr. Red Fang.  Fang tried to yell something into the mic (maybe “Vampire Lunges for everyone”) but the mic was shut off much to his dismay.  (19 min for the match; 8 additional for the segment)

With that, the show comes to an end.  I’m sure the Column will have a response for their former manager soon.

HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2017 #552

Hello fans and welcome back to our newsletter.  Well, I guess we now know that the person stalking the Stache was Dr. Red Fang.  Well, if he wanted to get the attention of the Hardcore Champion, he did.  The Stache is not here today but did send us a video response that will air later.

Pyro goes off as the first match of the night kicks off. The Axe comes out first and is booed pretty heavily.  He flips off the fans and makes his way to the ring.  His opponent tonight is Talon McFrost.  Axe attacks before the bell and never let up.  He kept beating down Talon but he refused to give up.  Axe thought he had it locked up after connecting with the Axe but Talon got his foot on the rope and that just pissed the Axe off even more.  In the final moments of the match, the two stood toe to toe slugging it out and the bell rang bringing this one to a draw.  The bell kept ringing as the two would not stop fighting.  A bunch of refs ran out and tried to separate them.  It took a few minutes but they eventually got them separated and escorted out of the ring.  I’m sure this one is not over between them.

Backstage, The Savior says he really didn’t mean he’d give Croc the match and says he would have said anything to get the ‘gullible one’ to let him go.  He laughs saying Croc is a dumb hick and is clueless to his level of intelligence.

We head back to the ring where the former ‘Queen’ Juliette Beckett stands and she demands that the Duchess return her crown.  The Duchess is not here tonight and says she wants a fight.  Taylor Bella comes out and says she’ll accept the match as it gives her more ‘in-ring’ time.  Beckett tells her she picked the wrong person to get mouthy to as she’s here to fight.  She tells Taylor to put her ‘spot’ on the line and Taylor agrees.

Beckett must have let her frustration blind her as Taylor beat the HOLY HELL out of her (It took Beckett 3 minutes to get in one offensive move).  After that, she got in a total of 4 more offensive moves and the rest wall all Taylor.  At the end of the match, Taylor nailed Beckett with a running kneelift that sent her crashing first face into the turnbuckle.  Taylor made the cover and got the 1-2-3.  Taylor Bella wins this one in dominating fashion.  (18 min)  Taylor retains her spot for the Ladies title lineup.

A vignette airs with the Steel Curtain (Buzz & Starbuck Steel) on a deep sea fishing boat out in the Caribbean.  They seem to really be enjoying their “suspension”.  The camera pans to them and Starbuck holds up a massive grouper he brought in and is all smiles.  The camera pans to Buzz who is holding up an Angelfish and he looks all sad.

We head back to the ring for the next match.  Otto Ruthless comes out first to a mixed reaction from the crowd.  Next, the Fiend comes out to his Misfits music and gets a huge pop.   Otto is in the ring pacing.  The Fiend gets in, removes his jacket and is ready to get this one underway.   The Fiend was just too quick for Otto and stayed a few steps ahead of his opponent for the entire (short) match. Fiend caught him with a dropkick and a running clothesline.  Otto finally gets a move in and nails a back body drop.  The Fiend is up almost immediately and nailed the Last Caress (swinging DDT).  He made the cover and got the pin.  The fans pop as the Fiend has his arm raised in victory.  (3 min)

Max says the ratings were in from the memorial show and it got lots of views.  He says that the match between US Champion Texas Wildfire and the World Champion Drew the Canadian Love Machine blew the fans away.  He thinks he may have to work on something there.

We go back to the ring for our next match.  Making a rare singles appearance, led by his manager MJ, is Smasher #1.  He is being challenged for his spot by this man.  Out comes Wendell Hammerschmidt.  Wendell gets a pop as the fans hate the Smashers.  MJ says that the loser of this match should be out of the running for this belt.  Wendell reluctantly agrees.  This one doesn’t go very long as Wendell, surprisingly, went toe to toe with the much bigger man.  MJ continued to shout instructions but they fell on deaf ears.  Wendell got lucky and hurled Smasher #1 out of the ring.  He then hit the ropes and launched himself over the top rope right on to his opponent.  Wendell battled Smasher #1 up the ramp for only a few seconds and then rushed back into the ring to break the 10 count.  Smasher #1 loses the match to Wendell via countout and is completely out of the top 10.  MJ berated his charge for not heeding his words.  They left as Wendell celebrated in the ring.  (2 ½ min)

A video then airs with the Stache addressing the sneak attack from Dr. Red Fang.  “Part of me knew something was up and it had to come from someone as diabolical as Fang.  You know Fang, I’ve held multiple titles in HCW including World Champion.  You cost me the chance to reclaim it. Now you have my full attention.  You want this belt I’m holding?  Come and try to take it from me.  You set foot in the ring against me and you’ll sincerely wish you hadn’t.”

We head back to the ring for the next match.  Bishop Ripley comes out first to a mixed reaction from the crowd.  Next, Biceps Bannerman comes out to a huge pop. (The camera cuts to Reid’s dressing room where he and Master Bull are watching the crowd reaction and Reid comments that he wants that guy on his team.)  The two of them lock up.  To everyone’s surprise, Ripley dominated the bigger, stronger Bannerman.  Bishop was fast and hit Biceps with everything he had including taking the big man off his feet twice will well-placed flying dropkicks.  Ripley was calling for the Alien Resurrection but Bannerman reversed it and hit an AWESOME spinebuster.  Biceps makes the cover and luckily gets the pin.  Ripley was up a few moments later and starred daggers at Bannerman as he walked away.  (15 min)

Once again, we are in the interview area and the Desperados are there commenting on the Mexicali Flyers and Leon Teremoto issues a challenge to them for the next show.  El Chango says he’d bet they don’t show.

It’s time for the Main Event:  US champion Texas Wildfire takes on the Savior in a non-title match.  If Savior wins, he gets his title shot at home in Montreal.  Wildfire starts off like his name states but the Savior “accidentally” took the ref out early.  The Savior then used a chair multiple times on the US Champion.  Just as the ref was recovering, the Savior executed a powerbomb right on the chair.  He got rid of it pretty quick and made the cover.  The ref counted 1…2….3.  The Savior wins the match (in once again questionable fashion) and now is in line for a title shot in Montreal.  (12 min)  As the Savior was gloating in the ring, the Crocodile Hunter runs down.  The Savior sees him and bolts out of the ring and exits through the crowd.  Croc checks in on TW before taking off after the Savior.

HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2017 #551

Hello fans and welcome back to our newsletter.  After our Supershow in chilly Denver, we head back sunny Phoenix, AZ.  GM Max McGillicutty gave us a tidbit of information and it’s really above and beyond anything we could have thought.  Max says that he did some wheeling and dealing and was able to secure another location for a show later this month.  He was able to get out of the 4 corners and after lengthy conversations with local promoters, Max secured a deal for HCW to go to MONTREAL, QUEBEC CANADA!  That is HUGE news that I’m sure World Champion Drew the Canadian Love Machine and his former tag team partner the Savior will be ecstatic to return home.  Max says that show will take place on 3/19.

The show starts off with pyro and our first match is ready to begin.  Adam Jameson makes his way out first and is followed by his opponent Super Shockmaster.  SS comes out and is booed pretty heavily.  He doesn’t care.  He is here to wreak havoc and pick up a paycheck.  AJ used his speed and never allowed SS to get in one offensive move at all.  AJ nailed a gut buster and followed it up with a springboard face smash and then sent SS out of the ring.  AJ launched himself over the top rope onto the Super Shockmaster on the floor.  He made it back in by 10 but SS did not so the match gets awarded to Adam Jameson via countout.  (2 ½ min).  As AJ celebrated in the ring. Super Shockmaster ran back in and hit him with the Galactic Splash.  He then headbutted AJ multiple times until AJ was wearing a crimson mask.  SS then began laughing and wiped AJ’s blood on his mask.  He then walked away.

We cut backstage to Max’s office.  The Elitist Reid Rothchild and his manager Master Bull walk in and ask Max if he would be allowed to pick the opponent for his next title match.  Max says yes as long they as they are in his top 10.  Reid confirms that if the person is listed in his top 10, he can pick whoever he wants.  Max is getting irritated.  “Yes” he says.  “Hey, we’re just making sure we are playing by your rules” says Master Bull.  Max stands up.  “Look at the current lineup, you can defend the title against anyone on there.  Does that make it any clearer?”   Bull asks “And if that person doesn’t show up, Reid wins by forfeit, right?”  Max exasperated says “Yes”.  “Ok” Reid says and he and Master Bull leave.  Max shakes his head asking “what was that all about?”

Master Bull and the Elitist Reid Rothchild walk down and enter the ring.  Reid announces that he got permission from the GM to pick his opponent for tonight.   He pulls out a piece of paper with the names of the wrestlers in the top 10.  “Ok, I choose…. Starbuck Steel.  Oh Starbuck…where are you?”  Starbuck’s music plays but he is not there.  Max storms out on stage with a mic in hand.  “You can’t choose him as he and his brother are on suspension.”  Reid counters with “But you said that if they are listed in my top 10, I can choose.”  Max replies “He’s not here because of the suspension…you can’t choose him.”  Bull interjects “But he CAN and because of the exact wording that YOU used, he will.  He is on the active roster and you never flagged him as ‘ineligible’.  Timekeeper, ring the bell to start this match if you would”.  The bell rings and the ref counts to 10 and has no choice but to award the match to Reid.  “Now, since I’ve fulfilled my title defense obligation for this month, I don’t have to do anything until next month.  Thanks Mr. GM.”  Bull and Reid leave the ring laughing.

Backstage, the Duchess talks about taking over the court and how Beckett was an unfit leader unlike her who is a multi-time champion.   She says she will bring back prestige to the Court.

We head back to the ring for our next match.  First, Sarona Reiher makes her way to the ring and is followed out by Madame Jade.  Madame Jade looked fantastic in the match keeping Sarona on the defensive for her offensive but Sarona began to wear her down.  Sarona was able to nail Jade with a Samoan drop in the last few seconds of the match but Jade was too close to the ropes and easily got a foot on the ropes to break the pin attempt and the bell then rang bringing this one to a close.  This one ends in a draw.  Both women get a standing ovation from the fans who appreciated the show they put on.  (20 min time limit)

Back in the interview area, the Hardcore champion the Stache is cutting a promo addressing his upcoming match against World Champion Drew the Canadian Love Machine and we see a shadow moving in the background.  It seems this shadow has been stalking the Stache.  WHO or WHAT IS IT???

Heading back to the ring for more action, we have Dr. Red Fang vs Travis Ryzing.  Ant Graham comes out first with the Dr. who exclaims “VAMPIRE LUNGES FOR EVERYONE”.    He is booed but he doesn’t care.  Travis ‘Dark Storm’ Ryzing comes out next and he gets a pop only because of who he’s facing.  Well, this match was anything BUT uninteresting as Fang tore right into Ryzing and never let up.  Ant Graham didn’t have to do anything and let Fang go to town.  It was a massacre.  At one point, Fang pulled Ryzing out of the ring and nailed a Transylvania piledriver on the floor.  He wanted to keep up the fight but his manager sent him back into the ring.  The unconscious ‘Dark Storm’ never got up and Fang was awarded the match via count out.  Graham joins him in the ring and the two celebrate.  The ring announcer tried to interview both men and Fang snarled at him.  “I bet our champions are sitting at home punching keys (aka on their computers).  I’d like to punch THEM!”  Ant asks how the sheep (fans) would book Dr. Red Fang in today’s world of sports entertainment and the fans respond with “YOU SUCK”.  Graham gets pissed.  Fang exclaims “I am a LEGEND in HCW.  Your opinions are insignificant.”  The fans don’t let up so Graham and Fang leave.  (7 ½ min for the match; 15 total for the segment)

Backstage, a bloodied up Adam Jameson demands a rematch against the Super Shockmaster.

We go back to the ring for our next match.  Ravishing Raquel appears on the stage with her husband The Elitist Reid Rothchild and her ‘advisor’ Master Bull.  Bull gives her some words of advice and she heads down to the ring.  Taylor Bella comes out next to a pop from the crowd and for whatever reason, she’s carrying a lemon. She gets into the ring and Raquel immediately attacks.   Taylor shrugs her off and grabs the lemon and rubs some of the juice in Raquel’s eyes.  Taylor goes on the offensive pulling out all the stops. 9 minutes in, Raquel connects with a moonsault but is still feeling the effects of the lemon juice.  She manages to lock in a Ravishing Armbar but Taylor connects with a sunset flip.  She somehow hooks the leg and gets the 1-2-3.  Taylor Bella gets the win.  Raquel begins to recover but Taylor sees the writing on the wall and departs. (10 min)

Backstage, El Chango & Leon Teremoto - The Desperados claim they are the #1 contenders and for two shows straight, the Flyers get a title shot and what the hell was up with their appearance?   Did they put on weight?  Leon says this needs to be brought to Max’s attention.

Back in his office, Max sees numbers being down and realizes it’s due in part because of the Steel Curtain’s suspension.  Max places a call to the Steel Curtain and says he’ll drop the suspension.   Buzz replies and says “no, it’s ok.  For now, keeping the Steel Curtain off the show is ‘best for business’ so hopefully the business will flourish.  We’ll be back at the end of the month.”  Buzz hangs up the phone.  The Desperados walk in and El Chango tells Max that he seriously needs to look at tape of the Flyers as he thinks something is hokey there.

It’s time for our MAIN EVENT.  The challenger, the Hardcore Champion the Stache comes out to a huge pop.  He enters the ring.  World Champion Drew the Canadian Love Machine comes out next and the pop is even louder.  Drew climbs each of the turnbuckles posing with his belt.  He then faces the Stache in the middle of the ring and the two shake hands.  Only the World title is on the line tonight.  The match begins.

Unfortunately, the belt does not change hands on a countout.  Stache recovers first and wonders what the hell is going on.  All of a sudden, a man dressed all in black attacks and drops the Stache with a piledriver.  The masked man stands over the Stache and then removes his hood.  HOLY COW…It’s… DR. RED FANG!  Fang screams “VAMPIRE LUNGES FOR EVERYONE” as the show comes to an end.

HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2017 #550 - SUPERSHOW

Hello fans and welcome to our SUPERSHOW coming to you from Denver, Colorado.  This is our 550^th issue of the Wrestling Newsletter and what better way to kick off a MILEstone than to be in the Mile High City.  The show begins as GM Max McGillicutty comes out in front of a sold out arena to thank the fans for attending while the Colorado weather tries to figure out if it’s still winter or spring.  Max says that tonight. 4 titles will be on the line with one of them being the 6 Man trophy.  Max is cut off as Master Bull, the Elitist Reid Rothchild and his wife Ravishing Raquel come out on stage.  Master Bull makes fun of the fans saying they’re on a ‘Rocky Mountain High’ and is surprised most of them could find their seats amidst the ‘haze’ in the arena (just what are you hinting at Master Bull?).  Bull says that he and Reid have been kept off TV and he demands to know why.  Raquel chimes in saying that ever since the Ladies title was stolen from her, she never got the rematch she deserved being the ONLY woman last year to even be considered for the Woman of the Year award and wonders if this is how Max and the HCW treat those with such a prestigious honor.   Max tells them that it was Reid and Bull who have been told to show up and they always came up with an excuse not to.  Max then addresses Raquel telling her she did get the rematch against former champion Kimberly Kiccass but Kim KICKED her ASS.  Reid jumps in telling Max he can’t speak to his wife that way.  Max then tells Reid to simmer down and go eat some Rocky Mountain Oysters (the fans laugh and start to chant RMO, RMO, RMO).    Reid tells the fans to shut their pie holes and they are fortunate to have them in the building.  Reid says he has a major announcement and then tells the world that tonight, he will begin scouting HCW talent as he starts on the path to reform Prestige Inc.  He and Master Bull will begin scouting tonight from his new dressing room and once they find those worthy enough to join him, he will make his choices known.  Bull, Reid and Raquel all then leave the stage.  Master Bull follows and pyro goes off and the show begins.

The Snake Pit (Niven, Leiton and Tobias Snake) all come down to the ring dressed in black.  They enter the ring and stand unified…like a Shield.   Manager Ant Graham comes out next and introduces the 6 Man trophy champions the 5^th Column.  Baron von Blood, Oswald Zimmerman and Karl Braun come out and are booed pretty heavily.  Ant hollers at the help to bring the trophy to the ring.  The champs enter the ring but the Snake Pit goes right on the offensive.  Ant helped get his team back on track but the Pit just kept the pressure on and put the champs on the defensive.  After Ant got caught sticking his nose in, Niven blasted him with a Superman punch much to the delight of the fans.  After Tobias took out Karl Braun with the Dirty Deeds and Leiton took out Oswald with a Curb Stomp, Niven hit Baron with a back suplex side slam and made the cover to get the 1-2-3.  The Snake Pit wins this one and becomes the NEW 6 Man Tag Team Trophy winners.  They celebrate in the ring to the delight of the fans and then take the trophy to the back.  The 5^th Column appear very unhappy with their manager and they actually storm off without him.  Ant makes his way back on his own.  (18 min)

Backstage, TV champion Handsome Hernandez says that he let that loser ScooterJ stew for weeks and now he finally will get his match but the Handsome one says it doesn’t matter as he’s walking out with the title tonight regardless.

We head back to the ring for our next match.  First, Jerry Saunders makes his way down to the ring.  We cut right to the back where Hardcore Champion the Stache is and GM Max stops him to tell him that if he is successful tonight, he will get the next shot at Drew the Canadian Love Machine’s World title.  Stache is pumped and heads down to the ring (there was a shadow lurking backstage but we never saw who it was).  He gets in and when asked what type of rules he wants for this match, he says “Brawl Games”.  For 10 minutes, it seemed like the Stache was distracted by the thoughts of a World title match as Jerry went toe to toe with him all that time.  Jerry grabbed a baseball bat but the Stache got it from him and smashed him in the ribs with it and then tried to weaken him with the Handlebar (camel clutch).  He went for a quick pin but Jerry got his foot under the ropes.  However, that bat shot took all the wind out of Jerry’s sails and the champ took over.  Stache destroyed him for 4 minutes and then locked in the Handlebar again but Jerry looked like he was passing out.  Stache released him and went for a pin and got the three count.  The ref then counted to see if Jerry would get up by 10.  He did not so the Stache is awarded the win by KO and secures a title shot at Drew.  He looks ready.  (14 min)

The Ambassador is backstage with the Tag Team Champions Pete the PUN-isher and the King of Cones Magnum Kone.  Larry Morton who’s conducting the interview reminds the Ambassador that he cannot interfere or his team will lose the belts.  He says he has all the confidence in the world in his team and they will overcome.  The Ambassador and his team leave.  Larry questions if the Ambassador is working off of ‘alternative facts’.

Elsewhere backstage, the Crocodile Hunter confronts the Savior and is about to beat him senseless but the Savior has another idea.  He says that if Croc wants him in the ring, bring a partner and he’ll bring one and then he’ll determine if Croc is ready for 1:1 action against him.  Croc storms off and the Savior laughs.

We head back to the ring for the rematch for the TV title.  Former champion ScooterJ comes out and gets a decent reaction from the crowd.  The new champion Handsome Hernandez comes out and he is booed as he parades down to the ring.  ScooterJ immediately goes on the offensive but Hernandez shuts him down pretty quick.  For 4 minutes, Hernandez looked like he was going to own this match but a superkick from ScooterJ quickly changed that and owned the champ for 14 minutes.  Hernandez locked in a Cross Armbreaker and basically nullified ScooterJ’s arm.  Hernandez kept up the pressure for another 12 minutes and it looked like this was going to go a full 30 minutes but for whatever reason, Hernandez, after hitting a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker, pulled up ScooterJ at the 2 count when he clearly had him pinned.  Hernandez was going for a double foot stomp but instead ate a superkick from ScooterJ.  ScooterJ (painfully) hooked the leg and was able to get the 1-2-3.  ScooterJ defeats Hernandez to reclaim the TV title.  He takes the title holding it high and then leaves the ring and Handsome Hernandez behind.  (27 min)

Starr Vixen is backstage and calls out Kimberly Kiccass for taking the cheap route to win but then congratulates the Duchess on her strategy to claim the title.  She tells the Duchess she’s not done in the title hunt and Duchess had best keep an eye out because she’s coming for that title.  Queen Beckett walks over and says she’s tired of Starr being the weepy little nobody.  She challenges her to a match tonight.  Starr says she’ll accept but only on the condition that if she wins, Queen Beckett must disband the Queen’s Court.  Queen Beckett laughs and accepts the stipulation.

We head back to the ring and The Crocodile Hunter and his partner Outback Oscar make their way out to a huge pop from the crowd.  Next, the Savior comes out and is booed.  He introduces his tag team partner for the evening ‘Superstar’ Chic Monroe.  The Savior says that his team is superior however if the Aussies can somehow defeat them, he will give Croc a match anytime, anywhere.  The Savior would not start the match against Croc so Oscar had to.  Early on, Oscar got injured but was unable to tag out so the Savior and Chic totally destroyed him for 15 minutes.  Finally, Croc makes the hot tag (after all previous attempts were thwarted by their opponents) and goes to town taking out Chic.  The Savior gets tagged in and he blindsides Croc and then hurls him into the steel post.  Croc struggles to get to his feet but catches a spinning heel kick from the Savior who then makes the cover and with a handful of tights, gets the 1-2-3.  The Savior and Chic Monroe win this one and the fans really show their displeasure.  As Chic leaves (his commitment to the match is complete), the Savior gets on the mic saying how Croc is not in his league and gets NOTHING.  He laughs and starts to walk away but Croc catches him and drops him with the Prince’s Throne.  He then locks in an ankle lock and the Savior is screaming in pain.  Croc demands a 1:1 match and the Savior accepts.  As soon as Croc let him go, he rolled right out of the ring and limped his way to the back.  (18 min)

Backstage, the Mexicali Flyers (Tornado en Fuego and El Dragon Insano) say that they came so close to defeating the champs but tonight marks a turning point things will never be the same. (Pretty cryptic…)

We had back to the ring for our next match.  This one will have Queen’s Court monarch Queen Beckett finally going 1:1 with her former ‘lackey’ Starr Vixen.  Starr proposed that if she wins, Beckett must disband the court.  Beckett counters that if she wins, not only must Starr rejoin HER court, but will resume the role of ‘lackey’ and not say another word.  Starr totally went to town and handed her Royalness the beating of her life.  It’s a wonder how Beckett remained in power with such a horrendous performance.  Just when the Queen was mounting an offense, Starr charged her and dropped her hard with a vicious clothesline.  Starr makes the cover and gets the 1-2-3.  Starr Vixen wins the match and per the stipulation, Beckett must disband HER court.  This brought out both Lady Hermann and the British Crippler.  Her Ladyship and the Crippler got in the ring and after Beckett recovered, they began to close in on Starr.  All of a sudden, the Ladies Champion the Duchess comes out.  Beckett seems really annoyed as the Duchess gets in the ring.  Beckett turns to her teammates and orders them to take out the upstart (the Duchess).  They begin to move towards the Duchess who says “You heard her, remove the upstart.”  Hermann and the Crippler immediately turn and attack and beat down Queen Beckett.  WHAT THE HELL?  The Duchess is standing there laughing.  Lady Hermann takes the Queen’s crown and hands it to the Duchess.  It seems that the Duchess has just taken over the Court.  The Duchess looks and smiles at Starr Vixen but then turns and leaves with the court without further incident.  Starr leaves next and Beckett had to be helped from the ring. (9 min for the match; 15 total for the segment)

GM Max McGillicutty comes out to thank all the fans for attending and promises to return to Colorado in the near future.

It’s time for the Main Event.  The Mexicali Flyers come out first but wait…something looks different.  They LOOK different.  I know the camera adds 10 lbs but this is ridiculous.  The Ambassador comes out with the World Tag Team Champions Pete the PUN-isher and ‘the King of Cones’ Magnum Kone.  As the champs tried to say something was up, the Flyers went on the (very aggressive) offensive.  The Ambassador got in a few licks but stayed off the ref’s radar.  The Flyers had even changed their wrestling style and it looked more like…nah…couldn’t be!  The Flyers held the advantage for the match until the Desperados came out and attacked the champions resulting in a DQ against the Mexicali Flyers.  El Chango and Leon Teremoto then turned their attention to the Flyers and beat them down also.  The Desperados then left.  Pete and Magnum retain their belts once again in questionable fashion.  The Flyers took off after the Desperados as the Ambassador and his team celebrated in the ring.  The show then came to an end.
