Tonight, one man – Texas Wildfire or Wilber Townsend - will get a shot at the Unknown Assassin’s TV title. Before the first match kicked off, there was a promo cut by UA and his squirrely manager ‘the Honorable’ J C Dykes. Dykes once again complained about the hectic schedule that the GM’s have put up against them but if one man in all of HCW can handle it, it’s the Unknown Assassin. UA will continue to prove everyone wrong and once he’s exhausted what he wants to do as the TV champ, he will move on to another belt. “Hell, if Brock Lesnar can wrestle once a quarter then the Unknown Assassin is just THAT much better.” He laughs as the segment comes to a close. The Unknown Assassin just stood there (also just like Lesnar).
Pyro goes off and
our show is officially underway. First,
the lights go dim and then out and then a single solitary light brightens the
stage as Wilber Townsend comes out with his creepy music playing over the
loudspeakers. Man, this guy gives me the
shivers. The closer he gets to the ring,
more and more lights come back up and eventually once in the ring, all the
lights are on. Next, the music changes
and out comes fan favorite Texas Wildfire.
The fans pop HUGE for this guy as he makes his way down and out to the
ring. Wilber tried to sneak attack TW
but it backfired in a huge way. In fact,
it was a total annihilation (180 to 70).
TW dominated the entire match however he just couldn’t get the pin. This went on for the full 20 minutes of the
match and even after hitting a hangman’s clothesline in the final seconds, the
time limit was not in his favor and this one came to an abrupt end. The match ends in a time limit draw. Just then, JC Dykes and the Unknown Assassin
come out and Dykes is laughing. He says
that since neither man couldn’t get the job done, then neither of them deserve
a shot tonight. GM Master Bull then came
out to a pop from the crowd. He tells
Dykes that TW totally owned that match and should rightfully get a shot tonight
(huge pop from the fans) however, he didn’t get the job done in time and the
time limit expired. He says that he
could make the main event a 3 way fight for the TV title (Dykes complains and
the fans aren’t that thrilled) but he won’t do that either. He says that the only way to settle this is
to have a sudden death rules match. He
will give TW and Wilber 10 minutes to declare a winner or UA will get the night
off with no repercussions. The fans do
NOT like that. The ref restarts the
match. TW stays in control for the first
couple of minutes but then Wilber begins to battle back like a mad man. 3 minutes in, both men hit the ropes but then
crash into each other. The ref begins to
count. Wilber is back to his feet by the
6 count and TW at the 7 count. Wilber
hits a lifting forearm smash but TW hits the ropes, jumps to the top rope,
leaps and hits a high cross-body. He
connects and hooks the leg as the ref counts 1-2-3. Texas Wildfire gets the win. The fans explode in acknowledgement. The ref raises TW’s arm but then the Unknown
Assassin hits the ring and attacks Texas Wildfire. UA beats him down and then throws him
repeatedly into the steel post. Texas
Wildfire is really beat up. The Unknown
Assassin leaves and TW is helped to his feet and to the back. (20 min first match; 5 min second; 5 min for
aftermath).
We go backstage as
there seems to be an altercation going on.
Starr Vixen and El Gato Negro are really going at it throwing each other
around backstage. Finally security and
Master Bull intervene. Bull says that
these two can’t seem to co-exist in the same federation and he feels that
moving one to Tacoma won’t solve anything so at the PPV, one of the two of them
will be OUT of HCW however, if the match ends in a draw and there is no
decisive winner, both of them will be out.
We cut to the
outside and a limo pulls up. The door is
opened and out comes the interim World Champion ‘the Ragin Cajun’ King Rad
Gumbo with Queen Alexandria. Tonight is
the contract signing between him and World Champion Buzz Steel to determine the
Undisputed World Champion. A little kid
runs over and asks for an autograph and Rad pie faces him pushing him out of
his way. DAMN, what a jerk!
Our next match is
ready to get underway. First, ‘Top Gun’
Justin Winger comes out to a pretty decent pop from the crowd. He got the fans pumped before the music
changed and out comes Talon McFrost.
Talon is booed as he makes his way down to the ring. The two wasted no time in getting this one
started. Winger held his own until about
the 10 minute mark when he got tossed out of the ring. As Talon distracted the ref, the 5th
Column made their way down through the crowd and beat Winger down. They left almost as quickly as they
appeared. Winger managed to make it back
in the ring before the 10 count but wasn’t on his A-game. Talon tried to take advantage of the beatdown
but Winger hung in there and took whatever Talon dished out. Finally, the bell rings bringing this one to
a draw finish. Talon wanted to continue
the match but Winger hit him with a flying dropkick that sent him careening out
of the ring. Winger gets a ‘good job’
pop from the crowd. He then made his way
to the back. (20 min draw)
The Regulators
along with their manager Ruth Heartless and the Banker storm into Master Bull’s
office and bitch about not having a match yet for the PPV. Bull says that he hadn’t thought about it but
if they really want opponents, they can have Elitism. The Banker complains about not being at the
PPV either and Bull tells him that he can have Elitism go find a partner and
then the 6 man titles can be on the line.
The Banker stammers and then backtracks saying that his knee has been
bothering him a bit and maybe the rest will do him good. They then leave the office.
Our next match
begins with 5th Column member Baron von Blood making his way down to
the ring. The fans boo him but he
doesn’t care. Next, Sonic Blade comes
out and the fans pop for him. Sonic
continues to glace to the back keeping a watchful eye out for any interference
from the Baron’s teammates. This one
was another hard fought match with both men staying pretty neck and neck for
the entire match. They both traded
control but the other would battle back.
Another 20 minutes pass and other match comes to a draw finish. The rest of the 5th Column didn’t
come in from the crowd this time but from the back and the Baron, Oswald
Zimmerman and Karl Braun collectively beat down on Sonic until a chair-wielding
Justin Winger comes out and the Column bails.
Winger takes a mic and calls the Column cowards for attacking them
individually. Sonic gets to his feet and
says that he, Winger and Texas Wildfire will be ready for the Column at the
PPV. Sonic wished TW good luck in his
match tonight with the Unknown Assassin but nothing will change the fact that
they will kick the asses of the Column.
The fans pop as Winger and Sonic head to the back. (20 min draw; 5 min for the aftermath)
We cut to the
outside again and a new limo pulls up.
Out first comes Starbuck Steel followed by his brother the ‘real’ World
Champion Buzz Steel. The little kid runs
up to Buzz asking for an autograph but Buzz politely declines. The kid started to walk away and compared
Buzz to Rad. Buzz heard this and asked
what he meant. He told Buzz what Gumbo
did and Buzz got a little hot. Buzz (and
Starbuck) then took 10 minutes to talk to the kid, sign autographs, took
pictures with both him, his friends and family.
Now THAT is how a World Champion should behave. Buzz and Starbuck head inside.
Our next match
begins with two members of the Snake Pit – Tobias and Niven Snake coming out
first to a mixed reaction from the crowd.
Next, Elitism (‘The Elitist’ Reid Rothchild & ‘Rowdy’ Roderick
Rothchild) along with their manager the Ambassador come out to booing from the
crowd. The two teams go at it almost
immediately and battled each other pretty strong seeking an advantage but
nothing ever transpired even with the Ambassador getting involved. At the 16 minute mark in the match, the other
Snake brother Leiton comes out and confronts Niven and Tobias. Leiton tells Tobias he needs to choose. He refuses.
Niven gets into Leiton’s face.
The Ambassador goes over and begins to jaw jack with them. Both Leiton and the Ambassador are on the
ring apron. Leiton pushes the Ambassador
who crashes into the ref who came by to see what was going on. The ref thinking that the Ambassador hit him
on purpose then disqualifies Elitism. He
awards the match to the Snake Pit via disqualification. Leiton and Niven continue to have words but
Leiton ends up storming off. Niven and
Tobias follow separately. (16 min via
DQ)
Master Bull is in
his office and calls in Biceps Bannerman and Angry Jack Lawson. Bull tells them that in one week, they will
meet in a steel cage at the PPV. He
warns them though that if there is any physical altercation between them then
their match is off and the instigator will be fired. He tells the two of them to go find separate
areas backstage and just stay out of each other’s way for the next 7 days. The two of them leave.
Our next match is
ready to get underway. First, Kimberly
Kiccsass comes out first and she gets a decent pop from the crowd. Next, Taylor Bella comes out and the fans boo
her all the way to the ring. She sneers
at them but mostly ignores them. She
gets in the ring and the match begins almost immediately. For about 15 minutes, the two of them were
practically even. After that, Kimberly
whipped Taylor into the ropes and she hit the corner turnbuckles hard and then
fell back in the ring. Taylor tried for
a sitout facebuster but Kimberly successfully neutralized that. Kimberly hits a Toronto Slam and went for a
pin but Taylor kicked out at 2.
Kimberly then went for a back-mounted chin lock but Taylor managed to
negate that. Taylor went for a rolling
leglock but Kimberly reversed it and hit a double knee lift. The bell then rang before she could go for
the pin. Another match ends in a
draw. Taylor leaves pretty quickly. Kimberly, a tad frustrated, leaves shortly
thereafter. (20 min draw)
Backstage, Texas
Wildfire is backstage and says he’s fine and will show the Unknown Assassin why
he’s a Wildfire.
It’s time for our
contract signing to determine the undisputed World Champion. GM Master Bull comes out first. Next, the interim World Champion ‘the Ragin
Cajun’ King Rad Gumbo comes out accompanied by Queen Alexandria. They both mockingly wave to the crowd and the
fans boo. Gumbo is decked out with his
crown and robe. They get in the ring and
then mock the crowd from the safety of the ring. Finally, the World Champion Buzz Steel comes
out and the fans pop pretty huge for him.
Bull explains the details for their match next week at the PPV saying it
will be a 60 minute, no DQ match as there must be a winner. Buzz is the first to sign the contract and
then lazily throws the pen at Rad who gets all gruffy. He stands up and stretches (wait, signing a
contract requires him to loosen up?
Really?) He leans over and signs
the contract. Buzz stands up and the two
of them are face to face. Rad removes
his cape and in the process, notices something attached to it. He removes it and it looks like it’s a
listening device. Gumbo then says that
this is how Buzz was able to track him and be at all the places he wanted to
go…by placing a bug on him. Buzz
corrects him and says that it wasn’t a bug but a snitch who gave him the
scoop…it was…Queen Alexandria! Gumbo’s
eyes go all wide. The Queen accuses Buzz
of lying and not to believe a word that comes out of his peasant mouth. Gumbo shockingly looks back and forth between
Buzz and Queen Alexandria and then shakes his head. He throws his hands up and leaves. Queen Alexandria follows him calling after
him. Buzz smiles and then leaves
followed by Master Bull.
It’s time for our
main event. First, Texas Wildfire comes
out and the fans pop huge for him. He
makes his way to the ring and once inside, climbs the turnbuckles for all 4
corners to even greater pops from the crowd.
The music changes and out comes manager JC Dykes followed by the TV
Champion the Unknown Assassin. The crowd
boos him pretty heavily and UA makes his way to the ring as Dykes flips off
random fans. UA immediately attacks
Wildfire trying to get an early advantage in.
It worked for about 4 minutes but then the TW kicked it into overdrive
and began to own the champ. 7 minutes
in, Dykes grabbed TW’s leg wrapping it around the steel post. UA pulled him back up but TW hit a leaping DDT
and got a 2 count. UA clips TW’s bad leg
and the match went back in favor of the champ.
After a few minutes, Wildfire got the feeling back in his leg and hit a
hangman’s clothesline but only got a 2 count.
UA hits an English forearm strike and rolls up TW but only gets a 2
count. After more back and forth, UA
hits a fireman’s carry roll and tried for another pin but TW kicked out
again. We get into the final minutes of
the match and Wildfire hits a superplex.
He gets up and UA locks in a standing crossface. The bell then rings bringing this one to (yet
another) draw finish. The Unknown
Assassin retains his title via the draw.
He and Dykes then leave. TW
hobbles around the ring interacting with the fans as the show comes to an end.
Just before it all
ended, we cut back to Master Bull in his office. He is in a good mood and appears to be happy
with the way the show went tonight. He
gets a call and it’s from co-owner Mr. Meyers.
Bull is told, in what was a very quick call, to keep his eyes and ears
open as the winds of change appear to be in motion. When Bull asked for more clarification, the
call ended. I wonder what that was all
about.
