HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2018 #681 – Phoenix Heat

Hello fans and welcome back to another installment of HCW’s Phoenix Heat.  Master Bull comes out almost immediately as pyro goes off.   He has a mic in hand.  “Thank you fans for attending live as well as those watching us on TV around the world AND the internet.  Today, two of Tacoma’s finest will take on two of Phoenix’s and we will see an interim World Champion crowned.  Also on the card today, we will have Elitism here in full force.  Reid and Roderick Rothchild will take on the newest team to Phoenix Heat – the Machines and Ravishing Raquel will take on Missy Chick.  The Banker is in singles action vs Muscles Weasley.  Without further ado, let's get this party started!”  Master Bull leaves to more pyro and our first match is ready to begin…but WAIT...there is commotion.  The cameras show up and we see Hardcore Hensen brawling with Hardcore Champion Magnum Kone.  Lots of the backstage hands were in there trying to separate the two.  Hensen’s manager began to pull HH away but someone calls out to him from behind a curtain.  Matt Preacher goes to the curtain and seems to have a conversation.  By the time Kone and Hensen are finally separated, Preacher is back over there holding a HUGE wad of cash.  Preacher whispers to Hensen and shows him the money.  We hear Hensen exclaim “uh YEAH” and takes the money and he and Preacher leave to go to Master Bull’s office.

The first match is ready to go.   First, Missy Chick makes her way out to a small pop from the crowd.  Once in the ring the music changes and out comes Ravishing Raquel.  The fans pop huge for her even though she’s still affiliated with Elitism who are not well liked by the fans.  Raquel makes her way into the ring and this one is ready to begin.  For 17 whopping minutes, Missy and Raquel were practically even.  Neither lady could get a leg up over the other.  They had the fans cheering and popping all along.  After the 18 minute mark, Raquel slaps on an ankle lock and tries to turn that into a pin but only gets a 1 count.  Missy battles back and connects with the Missy Plex.   As we entered the final 60 seconds of the match, Missy threw Raquel into the corner and charged but Raquel moved and Missy hit the steel pole with her shoulder.  Raquel pulled her back into the ring and slapped on the Ravishing Chickenwing.  Missy tried to hold on but the pain proved to be too much and she tapped out. Raquel gets the win with seconds left to spare. 

We are back in Master Bull’s office and with him are ‘The Singapore Sensation’ Matt Preacher and Hardcore Hensen. Preacher tells Bull that even though Hensen wants nothing more to go in and win this “interim” title, he has something to prove to Magnum Kone even more.  On top of that, Preacher tells Bull that he has sold Hensen’s spot in tonight’s tournament for a LOT of money.  Bull doesn’t seem surprised.  “Was it at least to someone on our Phoenix roster?”  Preacher replied “But of course.  This was not something we could pass up.  And by the way, since we have your attention, Hensen wants a shot a Magnum Kone.” Bull smiles “That’s fine because Mangum Kone was just in here and says he wants a piece of Hardcore Hensen.”  Hensen leans over Bull’s desk.  “Tell the coward to put the hardcore title on the line and we’ll really see who the better man is.”  Bull says it will be done.  Preacher and Hensen walk away all smiles. 

It is time for our next match.  First, the Machines (B and P Machine) come out and the fans pop for them.   Next, the Ambassador comes out and Elitism follows.  ‘The Elitist’ Reid Rothchild and ‘Rowdy’ Roderick Rothchild are booed as they make their way down to the ring.  Elitism immediately go for the double team and dominate for 5 minutes before basically tripping over themselves giving the Machines an opportunity to turn up the heat and that they did.  The Machines owned the match from that point on out wrestling and out schooling Elitism and the Ambassador didn’t do anything.  The one time he tried to get involved, the P Machine took him to the ringpost and handcuffed him to it thereby nullifying any impact he would have on the match.  In fact, it almost seemed like the Machines actually did their homework and scouted Elitism finding their weaknesses and exploiting them.  Before we knew it, the bell rang bringing this one to a 30 minute draw finish.  Reid and Roderick, having had enough, bailed out of the ring, uncuffed their manager and headed to the back.  The Machines were applauded for surviving the match.  They stayed at ringside to celebrate with the fans before making their own way to the back. As the Machines were making their way up the ramp (backwards), we saw the curtains part and Scooter J stuck his head out from inbetween the curtains and looked like someone trying to figure out a hard math problem.  Hmm…I wonder what’s going on there.

Texas Wildfire is backstage and he approaches Master Bull.  “So I heard that my opponent tonight got bought out of his spot.  Do you know whom I’m fighting tonight?  Bull shook his head.  “No, I think they are keeping it a surprise.  I guess we just have to wait and see.”

The first of our semi-finals for the Interim World Championship begins.  First, “the Singapore Sensation” Matt Preacher comes out and introduces Nix Anderson.  The two of them are booed as they make their way down to the ring.  Next, Starbuck Steel makes his way out and the fans pop huge.   Starbuck doesn’t get his pop time in the ring and Nix cuts him off trying to get this one started.  The ref tells us this is a no-DQ match.

Starbuck Steel gets the win and is now in the finals to see who will become the Interim World Champion.  Nix, not happy about his loss, tried to attack Starbuck but he bailed and made his way up the ramp much to the fan’s delight. 

Texas Wildfire comes through the curtains with a look of astonishment on his face.  The fans pop huge for him and he high fives a few of them before getting into the ring.  TW begins to pace.  All of a sudden, the curtains part and out we hear “Gumbo 7:30 says it’s suppa time, bitch” and out comes ‘the Ragin Cajun’ King Rad Gumbo and his Queen Ms. Alexandria.  The fans go all sour on them but he doesn’t care.  Gumbo is wearing a shirt that has “Gumbo 7:30” on the back but on the front it reads “Everyone has a price.”  Gumbo points to his head presumably trying to show off how smart he is.   Gumbo tells the ref to have Wildfire back off so that he can enter the ring properly.  Gumbo gets in the ring but it’s TW who attacks him.  Wildfire was exactly as his name would state and he controlled the match.

“The Ragin Cajun” King Rad Gumbo gets the (questionable) win and now goes on to meet Starbuck in the main event to crown a new interim World Champion.

The Banker (one third of the Six Man Tag Team Champions) is backstage with his manager Ruth Heartless.  He says that the Regulators needed the night off so he accepted a singles title match. It just so happens that it’s against a team who want a shot at their titles – the Muscles Trio.  The Banker says that it doesn’t matter if it’s a singles, tag team or 6 man match, he’ll show anyone and everyone why they don’t mess with him.

Muscles Weasley makes his way out first solo but he is sporting his team’s rainbow colored bull horns.  He walks to the ring carrying his box of Booty-O’s cereal (it really is his favorite).  The fans pop for him as he makes his way into the ring.  Next, the Banker comes out with his manager Ruth Heartless.  The duo are booed as they head to the ring.  The two begin and the match is mostly even with Weasley keeping up with the Banker despite Ruth’s constant interference.  The fans popped multiple times after Weasley hit some high spots but the Banker (with Ruth’s help) kicked out of them all.  Before we knew it, the time limit had run out but these two wanted to keep going.  Weasley and the Banker would let up and things got more interesting when the Regulators came out and they triple teamed Weasley.  The attack didn’t last very long as the other two members of the Muscles Trio (Thorpe and McGuire) and all 6 men battled in the ring until the trio hit their high spots which sent the Banker and the Regulators flying out of the ring.  The Muscles Trio tried to invite the champs back into the ring but the champs declined and backed their way up the ramp.  The Muscles Trio celebrated with the fans briefly before leaving.  (20 min draw; 5 min for the extra segment)

Backstage, Tacoma GM Max McGillicutty shows up in Bull’s office and questions how convenient a Tacoma wrestler gives up his shot to a Phoenix wrestler when it should have been to someone on the Tacoma roster.  Bull says that these things do happen.  Max then says that the first person getting a shot at the interim World title will come from the Tacoma roster.  Bull sighs but accepts the decision.

It is time for the Main Event.  Tonight, we crown an interim World Champion who will stand in for the real champion Buzz Steel until he returns.  GM’s Master Bull and Max McGillicutty come out and collectively thank the fans for attending and they say that all events over the last couple of weeks have led to this moment.  Just then, World Champion Buzz Steel comes out and is noticeably limping.  Buzz says that he has a right to be here to watch and see what happens.  Master Bull tells him he’s not cleared for competition so no, he shouldn’t.  Max digs into his pocket and pulls out a ticket – for a ringside seat.  Buzz and Max shake hands and Bull looks questionably at the two.  Bull then says they are ready to get this one started.  Buzz Steel makes his way down and then is helped to his seat.  He high fives with the fans sitting around him.

First, music hits and out comes Buzz’s tag team partner and brother, Starbuck Steel.  The fans pop huge for him.  He makes his way to the ring and nods to his brother who nods back.  He gets in the ring and climbs each of the turnbuckles to louder and louder pops from the crowd.  His celebration is cut short when we hear “Gumbo 7:30 says its suppa time, bitch” and out comes the Ragin Cajun King Rad Gumbo and Queen Alexandria.  The duo are booed as they head to the ring.  Once both were in the ring, Gumbo did his pomp and circumstance and that got the crowd all riled up.  Once Gumbo had enough taunting the crowd, the ref gets on the mic and introduces both participants.   He then shows off the belt that will be used by the interim champion.  He finally announces that this match will be no disqualification, no count out, no time limit.  There must be a winner regardless.  Starbuck and Rad go nose to nose in the center of the ring.  The both back off and the bell rings starting this one off.

King Rad Gumbo falls to his knees as he is handed his new title.  With this win, he becomes the NEW INTERIM WORLD CHAMPION!  Rad is given his title and he holds it high as the fans boo him.   Buzz Steel goes to check on Starbuck who had rolled out of the ring and glares at Gumbo as the show comes to an end.

HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2018 #680 – Tacoma Thunder

Hello fans and welcome back to another installment of HCW’s Tacoma Thunder.  Tonight, the final four from Tacoma slug it out to see who advances to the final Four to crown a new interim World Champion.   Once our normal champ Buzz Steel is cleared to return (currently slated for July 4), both men will slug it out to see who will become the undisputed World Champion.  GM Max McGillicutty comes out and thanks the crowd for attending.  He says that as we build up towards our summer PPV “Meltdown” (will uncharacteristically be held during the week as opposed to on a Sunday), we expect only the best from the superstars who fill the ranks of HCW’s two rosters.    It’s time to get this show going.  Max leaves the stage and pyro goes off signaling the start of tonight’s event.

The first match kicks off with Ovaltine Jackson and Ghee Buttersnaps making their way down to the ring.  The fans pop for them.  Next, their opponents Wendell Hammerschmidt and Red McNulty make their way out but the fans boo them.  They do the customary “I’m going to hit you” to the fans and that just gets them all the more riled up.  Once in the ring, the bell sounds immediately and this one is off.  Red and Wendell controlled the match for practically the entire match but Ghee and Ovaltine were only a few steps behind them.  Even though they went for numerous pin attempts, Ghee and Ovaltine were there to make the save each time.  The frustration was apparent from Red and Wendell.  The fans were into this match and before we knew it, the time limit was nearing its end.  In the last few seconds of the match, Ghee locked Wendell in a bearhug but he wouldn’t submit.  Just when it looked like he might, the bell rang bringing this one to a draw finish.  Both teams looked exhausted after the 30 minute battle.  Each team left without further incident.  (30 min draw)

We go backstage and newcomer (short but vicious) Ruby Rose is enjoying snacks (healthy ones) from the buffet table when she is bumped by the Duchess.  The Duchess says that she is not impressed by Ruby and thinks that her beginners luck will run out and then she’ll become fodder for the rest of the roster.  Ruby says she has made a positive impact and will continue to do so as she earns a future shot at the Ladies Title.  The Duchess laughs saying that Ruby wasn’t good enough to tie her shoes.  Ruby asks the Duchess that if she really wants to see what Ruby is made of, there is a ring and a crowd to perform in front of for proof.  The Duchess accepts the challenge. 

We head back to the ring for our next match.  First, Superstar Chic Monroe makes his way out to a mixed reaction from the crowd.  He high fives the fans showing that he is appreciative of their support and they slowly warm up to him.  Next, the burly Russian Ivan Dragovich comes out.   Ivan is booed as he makes his way to the ring but he doesn’t care.  He attacks Chic once in the ring.  The advantage quickly dissipated and Chic totally owned the match.   The fans got into the action with verbal exclamations of “Ohh” and “Ahh” as the two competitors hit some high spots.   This one also seemed to be running long but Chic began wrapping things up hitting a gutwrench suplex followed by a big boot to the face.  Chic made the cover and barely got the 1-2-3.  Superstar Chic Monroe gets the win.  Ivan tried to attack him after the match but he was able to get away unscathed.  Ivan eventually left.  (18 min)

Davis Hoffmeister is backstage cutting his promo.  “Hardcore Hensen, I don’t know you very well but I can tell that you are a very imposing presence in the ring.  Having your manager at ringside may be a challenge but I am up to it.  Only the best will advance.  I’m bringing my A-game.  Are you bringing yours?

Ruby Rose makes his way out to the ring and the fans pop pretty loud for her.  She gets into the ring and waves to the fans from all 4 sides of the ring.  Next, the Duchess makes her way out and she is all business and climbs into the ring and gets right into Ruby’s face.  The bell rings but the two are still jaw jacking.  The Duchess takes the first swing but Ruby begins to go toe to toe with the former Ladies Champ.  After Ruby connected with an inverted DDT and a near 2 count, the match went her way and she controlled the match much to the surprise of the Duchess.  6 minutes in, we had our “Ohh and Ahh” moment.

The match continued and at the 20^th minute in the match, the Duchess connected with a superkick but as she went for the cover, Ruby got her foot on the bottom rope stopping the count after 1.  At the beginning of the 21 minute mark, both women looked exhausted.

Ruby gets the win and continues to move up in the Ladies’ rankings.  With impressive wins over former champions Taylor Bella and now the Duchess, it seems that Ruby is within grasp of a title shot.

“The Singapore Sensation” Matt Preacher is backstage with two of his wrestlers Hardcore Hensen and Nix Anderson.  Max does all the talking for his team.  “Hoffmeister, you are right, you don’t know these men.  Hardcore is nothing like you’ve ever faced before.  He’s a monster among men.  For you Jacques Beannot, you get to face “Nixie”.  Mr. Anderson was so over in Germany that he makes David Hasselhoff look like a rookie.  When I showed up here, I put HCW on notice.  These men are the future and as time will tell, future champions as well.  Prepare to be schooled.”

The first of our qualifiers is next.  First, Davis “the Hoff” Hoffmeister comes out to a thunderous pop from the crowd.  He is able to climb all 4 corners before he is interrupted by “BECAUSE I’M HARDCORE” and out comes Hardcore Hensen and his manager Matt Preacher.  The duo are booed as they head to the ring.  Hensen gets in the ring and tries (unsuccessfully) to intimidate Davis with his size.  Before the match can begin, GM Max McGillicutty comes out and says that in order to find the best of the best, we need to see everyone at their best so to avoid any disqualifications or countouts, this and the next match will both be no DQ matches.  However, Preacher, if you are caught interfering on behalf of either man, you will be ejected from ringside.”  Preacher stands there but doesn’t react.  (Does he have something up his sleeve?)  Hardcore came out with guns blazing and with Preacher in his corner, he was able to hold the advantage throughout the match.   Davis got in a few shots but due to Preacher’s attentiveness, he was able to give Hensen the means to get out of his predicaments.   We join the match at the 15 minute mark.

Hardcore Hensen then hurls Davis out of the ring and then yells “BECAUSE I’M HARDCORE” and his manager joins him in the ring and raises his arm high.   Just then, Hardcore Champion Magnum Kone comes out and he and Hensen just stare at each other as the segment comes to an end. 

The TV Champion the Unknown Assassin and his manager J C Dykes are backstage.  Dykes speaks up for UA and he says that HCW is a breath of fresh air now that Phat Sol is gone.  UA is going to continue to mow through the roster and one day, it will be impossible to ignore him further and a World title will be in his future.

It’s time for our next qualifier.  First, “The Singapore Sensation” Matt Preacher comes out first and introduces Nix Anderson.  The two make their way to the ring.  Nix has a smug look on his face and he smirks at the fans as he walks by.   He gets into the ring and begins to pose as the crowd continues to boo him.  Music then changes and out comes Canada’s other favorite son Jacques Beannot.  Jacques heads down to the ring and slides under the bottom rope.  He and Nix stare at each other in the center of the ring.   The bell rings and this one is ready to go.  The two began slugging it out and Preacher got involved a few times.  About 9 minutes in, Jacques got fed up with the interference and went after Preacher but he was able to stay just outside of Jacques’ grasp.  Frustrated, Jacques got back into the ring.  We pick up the match at the 16 minute mark.

Matt Preacher joins Nix in the ring and holds his arm up in victory.  He points to Nix as Nix poses in the ring and they finally leave. 

With the two wins tonight, it seems that Phoenix Heat will play host to three matches on Wednesday.   Starbuck Steel will be taking on Nix Anderson and Texas Wildfire will take on Hardcore Hensen.  The two winners of those matches will be in the main event with one person walking out as the interim World Champion.  Who will it be?  I guess we will have to wait and see.

It’s time for our Main Event.  First, TNT (Templeton N. Townsend) makes his way out and the crowd cheers for him.   Next, J C Dykes and the Unknown Assassin come out and they are booed as they walk down to the ring and having to dodge miscellaneous garbage thrown their way.  The TV champ gets in the ring but the fans continue to cheer for TNT which infuriates him.  Much to everyone’s surprise, TNT held in there with the champ for about 14 minutes but then Dykes got involved slipping in a foreign object.  The Unknown Assassin then owned the match but nothing he did would get him that elusive pin.  The time limit reached 29 minutes and the last 60 seconds began to tick down.   The Unknown Assassin locked in a nerve pinch trying to get a submission but TNT wouldn’t tap out so UA took TNT to the mat and then turned that nerve pinch into a pin attempt.  With seconds left in the match, the Unknown Assassin was able to get the 3 count.  UA retains his title and Dykes joined him in the ring.  The two celebrated as the show came to an end.
