Wrestling Newsletter Year 5 (2010) 8.1
Hello fans. We had a few Holdem tourneys take place. The winner of the first bracket was Bret “The Hitman” Hart. The second one was dominated by RVD. The third one was won by HHH. The fourth was totally owned by CSWA World Champion Rey Mysterio. One point of note in this tourney, the man with the best record, Mr. Kennedy, was actually taken out of the tourney by none other than the Negronomicon. After this happened, it was expected that N would go on to win the whole thing but a bluff in the second round ended those chances right away. In the fifth bracket, Jim Brunzell took out the Iron Shiek after B. Brian Blair came down to distract the Shiek. For all those who don’t know, Shiek HATES Blair. Not sure why. Greg Valentine ended up winning the fifth bracket.
The winners of the next 3 brackets will be announced soon. After that, the final 8 participants will meet for a final showdown. The winner will be crowned the 3rd Texas Holdem Champion.
Mr. Kennedy was not happy with being ousted from the holdem tourney by the Negronomicon so he wanted to teach him a lesson in the ring. Kennedy came down and called out his challenger. N came to the ring and questioned what was up. Kennedy told him that he knew Negronomicon was bluffing in the hand that crippled him. N said that if he really thought that, why didn’t he call? Kennedy was groing more infuriated by the minute. “Call? You want me to call? How about this?” Kennedy then attacked the Negronomicon and knocked him out with the Mic Check. “I want you in the ring. I’ll show you who the better wrestler is.” Kennedy then left and Negronomicon slowly got up and headed to the back with some assistance from the “shirts”
IN the back, Kennedy was yelling for someone to put together a match between him and Negronomicon. William Regal came over to ask what all the shouting was about. Kennedy droned on about his elimination from the holdem tourney. “I want that stupid SOB in the ring.” Kennedy demanded. Regal spoke up “Well my good man, I’ll grant you the match but the question now is will you put your title on the line?” Kennedy looked like someone just tossed cold water in his face. “You want me to put my title on the line against this nobody? Come on. I’ve beaten some of the best in the business. Just look at my record. It really is a wonder I’m not the world champ by now. So you want me to put my title on the line? I”ll tell you what. Give me a match against this loser and IF he can beat me, then I’ll give him a title shot. How about that?” Regal came back with “I tell you what, if you want this match and are not willing to put the title on the line now, regardless of the outcome, he gets the NEXT title shot?” Kennedy grumbled a “whatever” and walked away. This of course did not sit well with the next in line contender Jeff Jarrett. Jarrett heard what was going on and wanted to know why since he was the number one contender that he wasn’t getting the next title shot. Regal had had enough. “Listen you toerag, I’ve made my decision. Get out of my face before I just decide to strip you of that title shot.” Jarrett slunk away.
Out next was HHH coming to defend the TV title against the World’s Strongest Man Mark Henry. This match went 10 minutes with the challenger giving the champ a good fight. That was until HHH decided to hit Henry 3x with the sledgehammer. Henry was basically out on his feet. Henry went to try to toss HHH out of the ring but Hunter reversed it and tossed Mark to the outside. He was in no shape to get back in so HHH ends up with the win via CO.
Next up was Mr. Kennedy vs the Negronomicon in a non title match. This one went 28 minutes. N held his own through halfway but then Kennedy took over. Mr. Kennedy had multiple attempts to try to pin N but he kept pulling him up. After the last time, the ref got into Kennedy’s face and said that the next time he did that, he would be disqualified. Kennedy snorted at him and immediately turned around into a snap suplex from N. N had Kennedy locked up so the ref went for the count and got the 1.2.3. Negronomicon gets a win over Mr Kennedy and will go on to receive a title shot.
It was decided that at the next show in Colorado Springs (this week), they would hold the No Way Out PPV which was originally scheduled for May. Here is how the card looks:
CSWA
Mr. Kennedy vs. the Negronomicon for the Cruiserweight title
HHH vs. Randy Orton for the TV title
Abyss vs. Christian for the US title
Rey Mysterio vs Mr Kennedy for the World title. Kennedy will have to wrestle multiple times.
HWF
AJ Styles vs. Cody Rhodes for the X-division title
Kurt Angle vs Big Show for the North American title
Edge vs. Kurt Angle for the IC title
Undertaker vs Kane for the World title
In tag team action, MW3 and the Super Warrior will defend the tag titles agains t Matt Hardy and John Morrison.
World Champion vs World Champion will take place to see who goes on to fight for the Undisputed Championship. If Rey retains the belt in his match with Mr. Kennedy, then this match against the HWF champion will be for the title.
The final match, of course, will have Rey defend the Undisputed title unless it happens in the previous match.
Stay tuned.

Negronomicon and Shad went to a time limit draw.
A mini tournament was held between the 4 champs: Rey Mysterio, Abyss, HHH and Mr. Kennedy. In the first bracket, Kennedy faced off against Rey. Kennedy got the win with the Green Bay Plunge. Next, Abyss took on HHH and defeated him with a Black Hole Slam. The final showdown between Kennedy and Abyss ended when Kennedy hit Abyss with a mic check and followed it up with a Green Bay Plunge. With the wins under his belt, Kennedy has one of the best records in the CSWA with a 13 and 2 record. Kennedy was down on the list but was immediately bumped to the next title shot.
More to come.
