Hello
fans and welcome to another installment of the HCW Wrestling Newsletter. Well, the day is finally here. Not only is it day 4, the final day of our
acclaimed Critical Mass PPV but this issue also marks the 1000th episode posted
in this type of written format. We could
not be more ecstatic that such a milestone issue takes place during a milestone
event with a cast of professionals who are the best in the business hands
down.
The
show begins with a TON of fireworks going off.
GM Max McGillicutty comes out and says he knows he sounds like a broken
record but he truly has to thank the fans here and around the globe for being
HCW’s cheerleaders and can’t thank them enough for making this week’s event
such a success. He says he is going to
leave so that the show can begin but he is interrupted by none other than Korbi
Kong.
The
fans pop huge as Korbi makes her way out to the stage. She says she has something to say to the fans
here tonight. Max hands her a mic.
“Yesterday,
I fought the hardest fight in my entire life.
The current Ladies Champion Luciana Albano is the biggest threat I’ve
ever had to face in my career and I have to say that I was not fully prepared
for the onslaught that followed. I know
that Violet and the referee were looking out for my well-being and probably
saved me from career-ending injuries. I
fell short and let you, the fans and myself down. But rest assured, I am NOT done.” (The fans pop HUGE) “In fact, Max, the reason I came out here
tonight is that I want another shot at Luciana.
I know you might be thinking ‘What is going on in her head?’ but the
story between the two of us is not over.
Luciana, I am telling you right here and now that I am coming for
you.”
The
promo is cut short when the Ladies Champion Luciana Albano comes out. She is smirking. She has a mic in hand. “Korbi, Korbi, Korbi, you will never learn. You cannot beat me. No one can beat me. I am the immovable object; the 9th
Wonder of the World (every pause she takes the fans boo louder and louder), I
am the FINAL BOSS. But let me tell you
this. I have no problem defeating you
again but I want to make sure you are 100% so you cannot complain about losing
since you had the sniffles. You tell me,
how long do you need before you say goodbye to your career?” Korbi looks at her. “We have a PPV coming up in July; the
Meltdown PPV. THAT is when I want my
rematch. THAT is when I will end your
tyrannical run. THAT is when I will…BEAT…YOU!” Luciana smirks and tells Max to make the
match. Main Event. She walks away. Korbi looks back at the crowd. “I promise
each and every one you this…I will defeat her and become the Woman’s Champion
once again!” The fans pop as Korbi leaves
the stage; a main event to rival all main events already y set for 2 months
from now. We know Korbi will be
ready. Max leaves the stage and the show
officially begins.
Match #1: Owen Zestwell & Julius Squeezer vs the
Flaggship (Flagg and the Commando)
The
first match of the evening begins with Col. Flagg and Zack ‘the Commando’ Brown
(the Flaggship) making their way to the ring to a chorus of boos (mostly
directed at Flagg). A few fans actually
wanted to shake Zack’s hand but Flagg would holler at them instead. They made their way to the ring and were
ready for action. The music changed and
out comes Owen ‘Orange Fury’ Zestwell and Julius Squeezer. They get a loud pop from the crowd and begin
walking to the ring. They shake hands
with the fans as they make their way around ringside and then into the
ring. Flagg immediately berated them and
then told Zack he was starting this one off. Owen said he was up to the
challenge and the match began.
Owen
begins by dropping Flagg with a legsweep and then got tossed out of the
ring. Owen made it back in at the count
of 7. Owen tagged Julius in who got a
boot stomp to the head as he entered the ring.
Julius then clotheslined Flagg over the top rope and to the floor. Flagg threw his hands up and walked away. Zack was astonished and yelled at Flagg to
return. Flagg kept walking and ended up
getting counted out. Owen and Julius get
the win via countout. Well, we had a lot
of time left on our hands so Julius and Owen got their T-shirt firing cannons
and shot Orange shirts out to the fans.
After spending more time doing this than their match lasted, they headed
to the back.
Match #2: Dr. Red Fang vs OP Cunningham
It’s
earlier than expected but we’re on to match #2.
Otis Peabody Cunningham came out first to a nice pop from the
crowd. He did his fan interactions
before entering the ring. The music
changed and we hear blare out “VAMPIRE LUNGES FOR EVERYBODY” and out comes Dr.
Red Fang and his manager the Ambassador.
The duo are booed heavily as they make their way to the ring. Once at ringside, Fang slides in under the
bottom rope and immediately goes after OP.
Fang dropkicks OP out of the ring but he’s back in fairly quick and
bodyslams the Transylvania Bot/Vampire.
OP follows it up with an exploder suplex. Fang gets up and after a low blow, hits OP
with a Transylvania piledriver. He goes
for the pin but OP kicks out at 2. OP
locks in a bearhug but it’s weak and Fang gets out of it and hits another Transylvania
piledriver. He goes for the pin and this
time, he hooks the trunks which the ref didn’t see. The ref counts 1…2…3. Dr. Red Fang gets the win in quick fashion. The Ambassador enters the ring and holds
Fang’s arm high as the victor. The fans
boo. Fang and the Ambassador leaves and
OP follows shortly thereafter.
We
are two matches into tonight’s event and we are barely 15 minutes into the
show.
Back
in the office of the GM, Max is talking to somebody. The camera pans and its Kurt Angle. Max tells Kurt that it’s very possible that
the Triple Threat shows up tonight to be in Shane’s corner so he needs an
enforcer of sorts and asks Kurt to be the special guest referee during the
Sullivan/Douglas match. Kurt agrees.
Match #3: US Title Match: Wilber Townsend vs Dennis Marshall
We
had back to the ring for our next match.
Dennis Marshall comes out first to a solid pop from the crowd. He takes it all in and then heads to the
ring. He interacts with a few fans and
then enters the ring.
The
lights then dim as the US Champion begins to make his way out.
[The lights dim, casting a sinister
glow over the wrestling ring. Smoke billows from the entrance ramp as the
haunting melody of Wilber Townsend’s theme song echoes through the arena.
Suddenly, the Nightmare himself emerges, adorned in an all-too-familiar striped
sweater and wearing his half-melted Pennywise the clown mask. The crowd erupts
into a mixture of fear and anticipation as Wilber approaches the ring and
enters demanding a microphone which he takes to the center of the ring.]
Wilber Townsend:
(cackling) Well, well, well... what do we have here? Looks like we've got
ourselves a bunch of sweaty little meat sacks just begging for a nightmare. (He
flashes his razor-sharp teeth (from the mask) causing a collective shiver to
run through the audience.)
You see, kiddies, I've been lurking
in the darkest corners of your dreams, waiting for the perfect opportunity to
step into your pathetic reality. And now, I'm here to show you what true fear
looks like. You think you've seen terror? You think you know what it means to
be afraid? (He chuckles darkly.)
But tonight... tonight is different.
Tonight, I step into this ring not as your worst nightmare, but as your
reigning, defending, undisputed United States (and nightmare) Champion! (He
holds up his US Title, the metal glinting in the dim light.)
So listen up, all you puny mortals
and (he looks directly at Dennis) wannabe heroes. If you think you have what it
takes to face the master of fear himself, then step right up and try your luck.
But be warned... once you enter my domain, there's no escaping the terror that
awaits you. (He leans in close to the camera, his eyes glowing with malice.)

World!

gets the win and retains his title. He
looks down at the semi-conscious Dennis and with mic in hand, he bends down and
whispers “Tell your nightmares they have a NEW master.” Wilber drops the mic on him and then leaves
to a chorus of boos. Dennis ends up
being helped to the back by a couple of ring attendants.
Backstage,
Zack confronts Flagg for leaving during their match. Flagg begins yelling at Zack for not
following him when he left. Zack said he
was there to have a wrestling match, not to run at the first sign of a
threat. Flagg then SLAPPED Zack across
the face and told him he didn’t want to see him for the rest of the night. Flagg then stormed off. Zack then mumbled “That’s it” before walking
away.
Match #4: Tommy Sullivan vs SCW Commissioner Shane
Douglas in a special collaboration match with SCW for the SCW Heavyweight title
with Kurt Angle as the special guest referee.
Music
hits and out comes Kurt Angle dressed in a ref shirt with the sleeves cut
off. A “You Suck” chant plays against
his music and he relishes in it. He
makes his way to the ring and is ready to referee the action. SCW Commissioner Shane Douglas comes out and
he is accompanied by Triple Threat members Elias, Lee Moriarty and Sam
Adonis. The three are dressed in what
looks like tactical gear and are there to be a (I suppose) SHIELD for Shane. Douglas
and his goons make their way to the ring to massive booing from the crowd. Once in the ring, Douglas began flipping the
fans off. The music changed but the
fan’s response didn’t as the SCW Heavyweight Champion Tommy ‘the Morningstar’
Sullivan comes out and he is accompanied by Azrael, Dr. Red Fang and the
Ambassador. Tommy gets on the mic and
tells Douglas that there is now a special stipulation in place and that the
rules of this match are one of his own creation – the 7th Circle of
Hell match. He promises to take Shane to
each level and show him a world of pain and suffering like Shane has never
before experienced. Everyone starts to
head to the ring but Triple Threat is out there first and blocks their entry to
the ring. Douglas begins calling Tommy a
coward and saying he is scared of him.
Tommy tells the Triple Threat to stand aside but they don’t budge. Just then, the lights go out and we hear what
sounds like screams and things crashing.
The lights come on and standing next to the Ambassador is someone
new. We look around and the Triple
Threat has all been taken out. Kurt
Angle gets on the mic and demands the Ambassador and his team leave the ring. They all turn and leave but we still have no
idea who this new monster/creature is. Security
comes out and removes the Triple Threat from the ring. Shane begins to look a bit concerned as all
his plans just went out the window.

hell and back match. Both men are
bleeding and the ring is a mess. Tommy
is handed the title and he holds it high.
The fans actually applaud the duo for an insane performance. Tommy can barely stand. Shane is taken out by medics on a
stretcher. Kurt walks over and raises
Tommy’s arm as the victor…and then CLOTHESLINES him! Kurt removes his ref shirt and tear-away
pants revealing he is wearing his wrestling outfit. He motions to the time keeper to ring the
bell. A new ref runs down.
Match #5: Tommy ‘the Morningstar’ Sullivan vs Kurt
Angle for the SCW Heavyweight Championship

Champion. Kurt grabs a mic. Angle says first it was getting back at
Douglas for disrespecting him and then beating Tommy tonight was all about
showing who the best is. His music plays
and he climbs the corner turnbuckle holding the SCW title high. Tommy Sullivan is also taken out on a
stretcher.
We
have a brief break while the ring is cleaned up and the mat covering is replaced.
It’s
time for our main event.
Match #6: The Main Event: World Title – The Wicked Prophet vs Jack
Lumber
The
music starts and we hear “TIMMMMMBERRRRR” and out comes everyone’s favorite
flannel wearing lumberjack Jack Lumber.
The fans pop the loudest all night for Jack. Jack stands on the stage as his pyro goes off
around him. He begins the walk to the
ring but stops by the Lumber Lounge first and interacts with the fans
there. After he did his brief meet and
greet, he headed to the ring. He climbed
the steps and entered through the ropes.
He walks to the far side and holds his arms up and the fans pop even
more. He does that on all 4 sides of the
ring with each segment of the crowd getting louder and louder. Once he was done, his music was abruptly shut
off and out comes the World Champion the Wicked Prophet. The fans go from cheering to booing instantly
and let the champ know they don’t care for him.
He too has pyro that goes off and as he begins the walk to the ring, he
sneers at the fans and disregards each and every one of them. He enters the ring and climbs the turnbuckles
holding his title high. The fans
continue to boo him. He goes and meets
Jack in the center of the ring and he holds the title right in Jack’s
face. Jack GRABS the title from him and
Prophet shoves him making him drop it.
Prophet picks it back up and tells Jack that was the last time he will
ever touch that title. He steps back and
the bell rings starting this one off.

The
Banker has just defeated Jack Lumber to become the NEW WORLD CHAMPION!!! An exhausted lumberjack lays on the mat
looking up at the lights. Jack is very
disappointed but he put up one hell of a fight after a 29 minute battle with
the Wicked Prophet and now 23 minutes in this match. Jack rolls out of the ring and starts to walk
up the ramp. The fans cheer him on but
it doesn’t help him feel any better. He
makes his way behind the curtain. In the
ring, the Banker holds the World Title high over his head finally achieving the
top title in HCW. The show comes to an
end with the Banker celebrating and the fans booing him.
