The screen fades in
from black.
A low electric hum
rolls through the arena before the familiar HCW Voltage intro explodes onto the
screen. Blue and silver pyro erupts from the stage as the crowd rises to their
feet inside the Scrooge Resorts Columbia Coliseum™. The Voltage logo flashes
across the Omegatron while sweeping camera shots capture signs, cheering fans,
and the steel cage already ominously hanging above the ring.
“Voltage” by Crimson
Riot blares throughout the arena.
Sam Duffy:
“Hello wrestling fans and welcome back to another installment of the HCW
Wrestling Newsletter! We are LIVE tonight for HCW Voltage and ladies and
gentlemen, what a night we have ahead of us!”
Rick Granger:
“You can feel it in this building already, Sam. We’ve got a Ladies
Contract-in-the-Case Battle Royal tonight, we’ve got the Proving Grounds debut
of Skyline Vega, and hanging over that ring right now… steel.”
Sam Duffy:
“And later tonight, The Dynamic Duo steps inside the cage against Duke Knight
and Biceps Bannerman in what has become one of the most heated rivalries on the
Voltage brand.”
The camera pans
upward toward the steel cage suspended over the ring as the crowd reacts
loudly.
Rick Granger:
“There’s nowhere to run in a cage, Sam. No excuses. No escape routes.
Somebody’s getting hurt tonight.”
Sam Duffy:
“But before we get to any of that, we do want to acknowledge a major event
happening tonight in our partner promotion up north in NPCW — The Long Night.”
A graphic appears on
the Omegatron featuring the logo for NPCW: The Long Night alongside an image of
Jack Lumber and Mordred staring each other down.
Sam Duffy:
“As many of you know by now, HCW and NPCW have maintained a working
relationship over the past year, and tonight one of HCW’s own faces perhaps his
greatest challenge yet.”
Rick Granger:
“Jack Lumber defending the Convergent Championship against Mordred. That’s not
just another title defense, Sam. Mordred’s one of the most dangerous men
walking around professional wrestling right now.”
Sam Duffy:
“And this issue between those two has become deeply personal over the past
several weeks. Jack has represented HCW proudly every time he’s stepped into
NPCW competition, but tonight may be his toughest test yet.”
Rick Granger:
“And let’s not pretend the landscape up there hasn’t changed either. Former HCW
powerbroker Count Vlad is now officially part of the NPCW roster. Every time
that man appears somewhere, trouble follows.”
Sam Duffy:
“Well regardless of where Count Vlad goes, tonight our focus remains right here
on HCW Voltage. We wish Jack Lumber the best of luck at The Long Night… but
tonight this building belongs to HCW!”
The crowd cheers
loudly.
Rick Granger:
“And speaking of the future of HCW, we’re about to get our first look at one of
the most talked-about international prospects in recent memory.”
A flashy animated
graphic fills the screen:
PROVING GROUNDS
Skyline Vega vs Noah
“High Flyer” Murphy
Sam Duffy:
“Skyline Vega makes his HCW debut next!”
The camera cuts to
ringside as Tony Calibur prepares for introductions.
The lights dim
slightly as a fast-paced rock track kicks in through the arena speakers. The
crowd responds positively as blue and white lights sweep across the building.
Sam Duffy:
“This young man has become one of the most respected competitors on the HCW
roster over the past year. Always exciting, always giving everything he has
every single night.”
Rick Granger:
“And tonight Noah Murphy’s got an interesting assignment. He’s not just trying
to win a match — he’s the measuring stick for a debuting prospect everybody’s
been talking about.”
Noah 'High Flyer'
Murphy bursts through the curtain to a strong ovation from the crowd. He slaps
hands with fans on both sides of the ramp before jogging toward the ring with
his usual energetic demeanor.
Sam Duffy:
“Noah Murphy represents HCW the right way. Athletic, respectful, and always
willing to test himself against the very best competition available.”
Rick Granger:
“And he better be ready tonight because from everything we’ve heard, Skyline
Vega isn’t coming here to play it safe.”
Murphy slides into
the ring and climbs the second turnbuckle, pointing out toward the crowd as
fans cheer loudly. He hops down and begins loosening up in the corner.
The arena lights
suddenly shift.
A pulsing electronic
rhythm begins echoing throughout the building as the screen fills with
streaking neon skylines and rapidly moving city lights. Purple and silver beams
sweep across the crowd while smoke pours from the entrance stage.
Sam Duffy:
“And here we go!”
Rick Granger:
“Listen to this crowd already.”
After a brief pause, Skyline
Vega steps onto the stage to a loud reaction from the audience. Dressed in
sleek silver-and-midnight-blue gear, Vega pauses at the top of the ramp, taking
in the atmosphere before confidently making his way toward the ring.
Sam Duffy:
“This young man has generated international buzz over the last several months,
and tonight we finally get our first look at Skyline Vega here in Heritage
Championship Wrestling.”
Rick Granger:
“You can already tell he carries himself like somebody who expects to become a
star.”
Vega slaps hands with
fans along the aisle before sprinting forward and leaping smoothly onto the
ring apron in one motion. The crowd reacts with appreciation as he springboards
over the top rope effortlessly into the ring.
Sam Duffy:
“That right there is exactly why so many people have been talking about Skyline
Vega.”
Inside the ring, Vega
turns toward Murphy. The two men nod respectfully at one another before
stepping forward and shaking hands in the center of the ring to applause from
the crowd.
Rick Granger:
“I like this. Competition. Respect. Let’s see who the better man is.”
Ring announcer Tony
Calibur steps toward the center of the ring.
Tony Calibur:
“Ladies and gentlemen… this contest is scheduled for one fall and is a Proving
Grounds match!”
Crowd cheers.
Tony Calibur:
“Introducing first… already in the ring… from Dublin, Ireland… weighing in at
212 pounds… NOAH ‘HIGH FLYER’ MURPHYYYYY!”
Murphy raises a hand
to the crowd as fans cheer.
Tony Calibur:
“And his opponent… making his HCW debut tonight… from San Diego, California by
way of Tokyo, Japan… weighing in at 198 pounds… SKYYYYLINE… VEGAAAAAA!”
The crowd pops again
as Vega raises both arms confidently from his corner.
Sam Duffy:
“Proving Grounds continues next on HCW Voltage!”
Referee: Honest Abe
(+0)
The bell rings and
the crowd immediately buzzes with anticipation as the two babyfaces circle
respectfully in the center of the ring.
Sam Duffy:
“This is what Proving Grounds is all about right here. Two tremendous athletes
ready to test themselves.”
Rick Granger:
“And Noah Murphy isn’t going to hand this kid anything. Skyline Vega’s gotta
earn it.”
Murphy strikes first
early with a sharp calf kick that catches Vega flush across the jaw, drawing an
appreciative reaction from the crowd as the newcomer stumbles backward into the
ropes.
Skyline quickly
answers back in the second minute with a breathtaking spinning 540 Kick that
snaps Murphy’s head sideways, but Noah responds almost instantly with a
thunderous German Suplex that shakes the ring.
Sam Duffy:
“What a sequence!”
Rick Granger:
“That’s the difference between hype and reality, Sam. Skyline’s flashy, but
Noah Murphy’s been through wars in HCW.”
The pace escalates
rapidly as the two begin trading increasingly dangerous offense. Skyline nearly
takes Murphy’s head off with the Silent Whisper Superkick, only for Murphy to
answer with a punishing pumphandle neckbreaker moments later.
The crowd grows
louder with every exchange.
Skyline starts
finding his rhythm midway through the match, drilling Murphy with repeated 540
Kicks and a vicious Hidden Blade that sends Noah collapsing into the corner.
Sam Duffy:
“Skyline Vega is starting to put things together now!”
Rick Granger:
“This kid’s dangerous when he gets rolling.”
But Murphy refuses to
fade away.
Noah plants Skyline
with a crushing powerbomb during the sixth minute before later rocking him with
a devastating enzuigiri that nearly turns the momentum completely around.
The audience erupts
during the ninth minute when Skyline delivers the Storm Breaker while Murphy
counters moments later with another brutal German Suplex.
Sam Duffy:
“These two are throwing everything they have at one another!”
Rick Granger:
“And neither one can keep the other down!”
Skyline nearly
secures victory in the sixteenth minute after connecting with the Rainham Maker
Ripcord Spanish Fly. The crowd counts along loudly as Honest Abe drops to the
mat.
ONE!
TWO!
Murphy barely kicks
out, drawing a standing ovation from many fans in attendance.
Sam Duffy:
“He almost had him there!”
Rick Granger:
“Now THAT was impressive.”
The match pushes
beyond the twenty-minute mark as exhaustion begins setting in for both
competitors. Murphy battles back with repeated strikes and suplexes while
Skyline continues firing off explosive kicks from every angle.
Finally, in the
twenty-fourth minute, Skyline catches Murphy one last time with a perfectly
timed 540 Kick that sends Noah crashing to the canvas. Vega immediately hooks
the leg as the crowd rises to its feet.
ONE!
TWO!
THREE!
The bell rings to a
loud ovation from the crowd.
Tony Calibur:
“Here is your winner… SKYYYYLINE VEGAAAAAA!”
Sam Duffy:
“What a debut!”
Rick Granger:
“Now THAT’S how you introduce yourself to HCW.”
Skyline sits on one
knee for a moment, exhausted after the hard-fought battle. Across the ring,
Noah Murphy slowly rises back to his feet as the crowd applauds both men.
Murphy looks at
Skyline… then extends his hand.
The audience cheers
loudly as Skyline accepts it without hesitation.
Sam Duffy:
“An incredible showing from both competitors here tonight.”
Rick Granger:
“No shame whatsoever in Noah Murphy losing this one. Those two just tore the
house down.”
The two men raise
each other’s hands briefly before Murphy exits the ring, leaving Skyline Vega
soaking in the cheers from the HCW audience after an unforgettable Proving
Grounds debut.
Backstage Interview
Segment
Voltage returns from
commercial to the backstage interview area where Larry Morton stands in front
of an HCW Voltage backdrop holding a microphone.
Larry Morton:
“Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome my guests at this time… Duke Knight and Biceps
Bannerman.”
The crowd cheers from
inside the arena as the camera widens. Duke stands calmly beside Biceps, both
already dressed for competition later tonight. Neither man looks particularly
interested in talking.
Larry Morton:
“Gentlemen, tonight you step inside a steel cage against The Dynamic Duo in
what many are already calling one of the most dangerous matches on the Voltage
calendar. Duke, last week the two of you demanded this match personally. Why?”
Duke takes a breath
before answering.
Duke Knight:
“Because some fights stop being about wins and losses.”
The crowd reacts
softly.
Duke Knight:
“The Dynamic Duo wanna make jokes… wanna cheap shot people… wanna treat this
place like a playground. Me and Biceps? We’re done playing.”
Biceps slowly cracks
his knuckles beside him.
Biceps Bannerman:
“No running tonight.”
Larry Morton:
“A steel cage changes everything physically and mentally. Are you at all
concerned about what this environment could do to both teams?”
Duke smirks faintly.
Duke Knight:
“Larry… if we were worried about getting hurt… we wouldn’t have asked for the
cage.”
Crowd cheers loudly
from the arena.
Biceps Bannerman:
“They wanted chaos.”
Biceps looks directly
into the camera.
Biceps Bannerman:
“Tonight they get locked inside it.”
Rick Granger:
“Ohhh, I like that.”
Sam Duffy:
“This has become extremely personal between these teams.”
Larry Morton:
“Gentlemen, thank you for your time.”
Duke nods once.
Biceps stares into the camera a moment longer before the two walk off together
toward the arena tunnel.
Sam Duffy:
“They sound ready.”
Rick Granger:
“They better be. Steel cages don’t care how tough you think you are.”
The camera cuts back
toward ringside as commentary begins hyping the upcoming Ladies
Contract-in-the-Case Battle Royal.
The camera returns to
ringside as the crowd buzzes with anticipation. Several referees gather around
the ring while a silver briefcase hangs suspended high above the entrance stage
near the Voltage set.
Sam Duffy:
“Well ladies and gentlemen, it is time for one of the most unpredictable
matches in HCW — the Ladies Contract-in-the-Case Battle Royal!”
Rick Granger:
“And every woman coming down that aisle knows exactly what’s at stake. One
contract can change an entire career overnight.”
“Electric Hearts” by
Velvet Riot hits first as Joy Monroe makes her way to the ring smiling and
slapping hands with fans.
Sam Duffy:
“Joy Monroe has become one of the fastest-rising fan favorites in the women’s
division over the past several weeks.”
Rick Granger:
“She’s got heart, but tonight heart may not be enough.”
Next out is Leslie
Grimes to a mixed reaction from the crowd.
Sam Duffy:
“And speaking of controversial figures, Leslie Grimes has made enemies lately
after what happened to Avery St. Claire on Live Wire.”
Rick Granger:
“Leslie Grimes doesn’t care what anybody thinks. That makes her dangerous in a
match like this.”
“Queen of the Runway”
begins playing as Avery St. Claire steps onto the stage to a strong ovation
despite the recent attack.
Sam Duffy:
“And here comes Avery St. Claire looking for payback and redemption all at
once.”
Rick Granger:
“She better keep her eyes on Leslie tonight.”
The camera briefly
catches Leslie staring from inside the ring as Avery enters.
Next out is Trinity
Bowman followed by Chloe Parker and Dixie Caverns.
Sam Duffy:
“This division has become unbelievably competitive.”
Rick Granger:
“And unpredictable. One mistake in a battle royal and your night’s over.”
Veronica Flame
marches toward the ring next to a strong reaction from the crowd.
Sam Duffy:
“One of the most physically intimidating competitors in the entire HCW women’s
division.”
Rick Granger:
“I wouldn’t want to be trapped in a corner with her.”
Ashley Summers enters
next, followed by Blair Kensington accompanied by boos from the crowd.
Sam Duffy:
“And you can never overlook Blair in a high-pressure environment like this.”
Rick Granger:
“She’ll do what it takes to get that opportunity.”
More competitors
continue arriving as the ring gradually fills with talent from across the HCW
roster.
Sam Duffy:
“Look at this ring, Rick. Every style imaginable.”
Rick Granger:
“You’ve got power fighters, technicians, strikers, high flyers, opportunists…
this thing’s gonna explode the second the bell rings.”
The final
participants enter the ring as referees attempt to restore order before the
match begins.
The camera pans
across the packed ring while the crowd cheers loudly.
Sam Duffy:
“One woman will outlast them all tonight and earn a guaranteed future
championship opportunity.”
Rick Granger:
“And in a match like this, survival matters more than pride.”
Tony Calibur steps
toward the center of the ring while the women stare each other down from every
corner.
Tony Calibur:
“Ladies and gentlemen… the following contest is the Ladies Contract-in-the-Case
Battle Royal! Eliminations occur when a competitor is thrown over the top rope
and both feet touch the floor!”
The crowd cheers
loudly as tension builds inside the ring.
Tony Calibur:
“The winner will receive the Ladies Contract-in-the-Case!”
The referee calls for
the bell as the crowd erupts.
The bell rings and
the ring instantly erupts into chaos as competitors begin brawling in every
direction.
Sam Duffy:
“And here we go!”
Rick Granger:
“This is survival mode right now!”
Trinity Bowman
immediately establishes herself as one of the early dominant forces in the
match, muscling Aurora Storm over the top rope with a powerful bridging suplex
only moments into the contest.
Sam Duffy:
“Big elimination early by Trinity Bowman!”
Elsewhere in the
ring, Phoenix Blaze electrifies the crowd with a handspring elbow smash that
sends Ashley Summers tumbling to the floor.
Rick Granger:
“Phoenix Blaze came flying across that ring!”
Meanwhile, the darker
side of the women’s division begins emerging as Luna Shadow drops Lavender
Gooms with the Nightfall Neckbreaker before throwing her out moments later.
The pace only
intensifies from there.
Dixie Caverns strings
together multiple eliminations, tossing both Joy Monroe and Penny Hall from the
match while the crowd roars approvingly.
Sam Duffy:
“Dixie Caverns is cleaning house right now!”
But Dixie’s momentum
is cut short when Trinity Bowman crushes her with a sidewalk slam and sends her
crashing to the arena floor.
Rick Granger:
“Trinity Bowman has become a wrecking machine in this thing!”
Chloe Parker
eliminates Daphne Ashcroft with a Triple Vertical Suplex before later falling
victim to Blair Kensington and her Pendulum DDT.
At ringside, tensions
continue brewing between Avery St. Claire and Leslie Grimes following the
events of Live Wire.
Sam Duffy:
“There is no love lost between these two after last week!”
Leslie attempts to
eliminate Avery near the ropes, but Avery counters into a Cobra Clutch and
violently hurls Leslie Grimes over the top rope to a massive ovation from the
crowd.
Rick Granger:
“That was payback!”
The audience explodes
as Avery points directly down at Leslie from inside the ring.
As the field narrows,
the match becomes increasingly frantic.
Veronica 'The Heat'
Flame catches Phoenix Blaze mid-flight with a diving crossbody before later
eliminating Luna Shadow as well.
Nyx Evermore also
draws a strong reaction after tossing Starla Nova from the contest with a
vicious superkick.
Sam Duffy:
“Nyx Evermore continues to impress every single week!”
Eventually the match
boils down to four competitors:
- Avery
St. Claire
- Veronica
“The Heat” Flame
- Nyx
Evermore
- Trinity
Bowman
The crowd rises to
its feet as Trinity attempts to overpower Avery near the ropes.
But Avery counters
spectacularly, charging forward and launching herself with a Diving Somersault
Senton that wipes Trinity Bowman completely out of the match!
Sam Duffy:
“WHAT A MOVE!”
Rick Granger:
“Avery just sacrificed her own body to eliminate Trinity!”
Moments later Avery
plants Veronica Flame with a sitout powerbomb before sending her crashing to
the floor as the audience grows louder and louder.
Now only two women
remain.
Final Two
Avery St. Claire vs Nyx
Evermore
Sam Duffy:
“What a final pairing this has become!”
Rick Granger:
“This is a future main-event level showdown right here.”
The exhausted
competitors battle back and forth for several tense moments as the crowd loudly
rallies behind both women.
Nyx nearly eliminates
Avery after a running strike near the ropes, but Avery barely hangs on.
The crowd gasps.
Then suddenly Avery
explodes forward one final time — connecting with another Diving Somersault
Senton that sends BOTH women tumbling toward the ropes — but Nyx crashes to the
floor first!
The referee
immediately calls for the bell.
Tony Calibur:
“Here is your winner… and the recipient of the Ladies Contract-in-the-Case…
AVERYYYYY ST. CLAIRE!!!”
The crowd erupts.
Sam Duffy:
“What a victory for Avery St. Claire!”
Rick Granger:
“She survived absolute chaos tonight!”
An exhausted Avery
drops to her knees in the center of the ring as a referee presents her with the
silver contract case.
Fans cheer loudly
while Avery clutches the case to her chest, visibly emotional after surviving
the massive
battle royal.
Sam Duffy:
“And remember — this contract guarantees Avery St. Claire a future championship
opportunity whenever she chooses!”
The camera focuses on
Avery raising the briefcase high above her head while the crowd continues
cheering.
(Editor’s note: Avery did NOT disclose which contract she
got.)
“Queen of the Runway”
begins playing again as the crowd continues cheering for Avery St. Claire
standing in the center of the ring holding the green contract case high
above her head.
Sam Duffy:
“What a moment for Avery St. Claire here tonight!”
Rick Granger:
“She earned every second of it too. That battle royal was brutal.”
As Avery continues
celebrating, Larry Morton steps through the ropes with a microphone in hand.
The crowd applauds as Larry approaches cautiously while Avery catches her
breath.
Larry Morton:
“Avery… first of all, congratulations on surviving the Ladies
Contract-in-the-Case Battle Royal tonight.”
Crowd cheers.
Larry Morton:
“You now hold a guaranteed future championship opportunity in HCW. After
everything that’s happened over the past week… what does this moment mean to
you?”
The crowd chants
“AVERY! AVERY!” as Avery smiles, visibly emotional but trying to maintain
composure.
Avery St. Claire:
“It means people don’t get to decide my future for me.”
Crowd cheers louder.
Avery St. Claire:
“Last week Leslie Grimes tried to embarrass me. Tried to take me out before I
could become what I know I’m capable of becoming.”
Avery lifts the
contract case slightly.
Avery St. Claire:
“But tonight proved something.”
Crowd quiets
slightly.
Avery St. Claire:
“You can knock me down… you can cheap shot me… you can try to embarrass me…”
She looks directly
into the camera.
Avery St. Claire:
“But I’m still standing.”
Huge crowd reaction.
Rick Granger:
“That’s a star talking right there.”
Larry Morton:
“Avery, with this contract you could challenge for any championship you choose.
Have you thought about—”
The crowd suddenly
erupts into loud boos.
Sam Duffy:
“Oh no…”
Leslie Grimes storms
down the entrance ramp furious, still dressed in ring gear from the battle
royal.
Rick Granger:
“Here we go.”
Leslie slides into
the ring aggressively while Avery immediately drops the microphone and raises
her fists.
Leslie Grimes:
“You think you’re special now?!”
The crowd boos
loudly.
Leslie Grimes:
“You got lucky!”
Avery steps toward
Leslie without hesitation.
Avery St. Claire:
“No… I beat you.”
The crowd erupts.
Leslie suddenly
swings wildly — but Avery ducks!
The arena explodes as
the two women begin brawling in the center of the ring.
Sam Duffy:
“And here we go again!”
Leslie tackles Avery
into the corner as referees sprint down the aisle trying to separate them.
Avery fights back furiously while still clutching the contract case with one
hand.
Rick Granger:
“These two are gonna tear each other apart!”
Several officials
finally manage to separate the women as the crowd roars loudly.
Leslie continues
screaming from the floor while Avery stands inside the ring holding the silver
contract case high over her head defiantly.
Sam Duffy:
“Avery St. Claire may have won the contract tonight… but this issue with Leslie
Grimes is FAR from over!”
Voltage heads to
commercial with the crowd still loudly chanting for Avery.
Voltage returns from
commercial break to a darkened arena.
A low metallic
grinding sound echoes throughout the building as the crowd begins buzzing
loudly.
The camera cuts
immediately to the ring where the massive steel cage slowly descends from the
rafters toward the squared circle.
Sam Duffy:
“Welcome back to HCW Voltage and ladies and gentlemen… it is time for our main
event.”
Fans cheer loudly as
referees and ringside crew carefully guide the structure downward.
Rick Granger:
“You can feel this atmosphere changing, Sam. This isn’t a wrestling match
anymore — this is a fight waiting to happen.”
The cage locks into
place with a deafening CLANG that echoes throughout the arena.
Several officials
circle the ring checking the doors, chains, and padlocks while the crowd
continues roaring in anticipation.
Sam Duffy:
“For weeks tensions have escalated between The Dynamic Duo and the team of Duke
Knight and Biceps Bannerman.”
Rick Granger:
“And tonight there are no shortcuts. No escape routes. No outside interference.
You get locked in there and you settle it.”
The camera slowly
pans upward along the towering steel mesh surrounding the ring.
Sam Duffy:
“This environment changes people, Rick. Careers have been altered forever
inside steel cages.”
Rick Granger:
“And judging by what we heard earlier tonight from Duke and Biceps… I don’t
think either team’s planning on walking out peacefully.”
“Break the Line” by
Black Static suddenly blasts through the arena speakers to loud cheers from the
crowd.
Blue and gold pyro
explodes across the stage as The Dynamic Duo burst through the curtain full of
energy despite the dangerous structure surrounding the ring.
Sam Duffy:
“The Dynamic Duo has built a reputation around excitement, charisma, and
unpredictability.”
Rick Granger:
“Tonight all that flashy stuff better translate into surviving a cage.”
Chris Thompson slaps
hands with fans while Mike Matthews points directly toward the steel cage,
jawing confidently at the structure as they march toward ringside.
The two men stop
briefly outside the cage door, staring up at the towering steel before entering
the ring.
Sam Duffy:
“You can see it on their faces now. Reality setting in.”
Inside the cage, The
Dynamic Duo pace intensely while staring toward the entrance stage.
The arena lights
suddenly dim.
A heavy pounding drum
rhythm begins echoing through the building.
The crowd erupts.
Duke Knight & Biceps
Bannerman
Red and silver lights
pulse throughout the arena as Duke Knight steps onto the stage beside Biceps
Bannerman.
Neither man poses.
Neither man
acknowledges the crowd.
They simply stare
coldly toward the cage.
Rick Granger:
“Ohhh these two came ready for war.”
Sam Duffy:
“This issue has become deeply personal.”
Biceps cracks his
neck slowly while Duke begins walking toward the ring with laser focus. The
crowd loudly chants “DUKE! DUKE! DUKE!” as the team marches down the aisle.
Rick Granger:
“I haven’t seen Duke Knight this intense since returning from injury.”
At ringside, Biceps
violently rattles the steel cage with both hands before entering through the
cage door.
Duke steps inside
next and immediately locks eyes with Chris Thompson across the ring.
Tension explodes
instantly as both teams begin shouting at each other while referees desperately
keep them separated before the bell.
Sam Duffy:
“This place is about to erupt!”
Ring announcer Tony
Calibur steps carefully into the center of the ring holding a microphone as the
crowd roars around him.
Tony Calibur:
“Ladies and gentlemen… the following contest is your HCW Voltage MAIN EVENT…”
Crowd cheers loudly.
Tony Calibur:
“And it will be contested… INSIDE… STEEL CAGE!”
Huge crowd reaction.
Tony Calibur:
“Introducing first… the team of Chris ‘Thunderstrike’ Thompson and Mike ‘The
Rebel’ Matthews… THE DYNAMIC DUOOOOOO!”
The Dynamic Duo raise
their fists defiantly to a strong negative reaction from the crowd.
Tony Calibur:
“And their opponents… the team of Biceps Bannerman… and DUKE KNIGHT!”
The crowd erupts
again as Duke and Biceps stand motionless in their corner.
Sam Duffy:
“Main event time on Voltage!”
Rick Granger:
“Lock the door.”
The bell rings and
the atmosphere instantly changes inside the steel cage.
Sam Duffy:
“And here we go!”
Rick Granger:
“That cage door just shut, Sam. There’s no turning back now.”
The Dynamic Duo
immediately jump Biceps Bannerman before he can fully establish himself,
swarming the powerhouse with quick strikes and double-team offense.
Chris Thompson
hammers Biceps with repeated bodyslams and knee drops while Mike Matthews
stomps away viciously in the corner.
Sam Duffy:
“The Dynamic Duo came in with a clear strategy here — isolate Biceps
Bannerman!”
Rick Granger:
“And they’re not giving him room to breathe!”
Despite the assault,
Biceps refuses to stay down.
The crowd erupts as
he suddenly explodes with the Biceps Crunch Bearhug, crushing Thompson before
later planting him with a massive Full Nelson Lift & Slam.
Sam Duffy:
“THERE’S the power of Biceps Bannerman!”
But the numbers game
slowly begins wearing him down.
Every time Biceps
gains momentum, The Dynamic Duo cut him off with another illegal double-team
attack while Honest Abe struggles to maintain control inside the cage.
Rick Granger:
“This is turning into a mugging!”
Midway through the
match, Mike Matthews launches Biceps directly into the steel cage wall with a
brutal catapult that produces a sickening metallic crash throughout the arena.
Sam Duffy:
“Oh my God!”
Rick Granger:
“You can hear that impact all over this building!”
Biceps stumbles
backward dazed, blood beginning to trickle near his forehead as The Dynamic Duo
continue their relentless attack.
Still, the powerhouse
somehow keeps fighting.
Biceps crushes
Matthews with a spinebuster later in the match and nearly steals the victory
with a dramatic near fall that sends the crowd into a frenzy.
Sam Duffy:
“He almost had him!”
Rick Granger:
“I don’t know how Biceps is even standing right now!”
But the punishment
finally becomes too much.
In the sixteenth
minute, Mike Matthews suddenly catches Biceps with a vicious flying
double-loaded elbow strike to the groin while the referee’s vision is
obstructed by the chaos inside the cage.
Sam Duffy:
“Oh come on!”
Rick Granger:
“They cheated him!”
Matthews collapses on
top of Biceps as Honest Abe counts.
ONE!
TWO!
THREE!
The bell rings as the
crowd immediately showers the ring with boos.
Tony Calibur:
“The winners of the match… THE DYNAMIC DUO!”
But suddenly the
crowd noise grows even louder.
Sam Duffy:
“Wait a second… remember, in this version of the cage match they STILL have to
escape the cage!”
Rick Granger:
“And Duke Knight is still fresh!”
Inside the cage, Duke
Knight storms into the ring furiously while The Dynamic Duo scramble backward
in panic.
Duke levels Chris
Thompson with a clothesline before hammering Mike Matthews repeatedly against
the cage wall.
The crowd erupts.
Sam Duffy:
“Duke Knight is tearing them apart!”
Biceps remains
motionless near the ropes, barely able to move after the illegal shot.
Duke grabs Mike
Matthews by the throat and launches him violently into the steel mesh as fans
roar louder and louder.
Rick Granger:
“The Dynamic Duo may have just woken up a monster!”
But suddenly Chris
Thompson reaches into his tights.
Sam Duffy:
“Oh no…”
The crowd explodes
with outrage as Thompson produces a pair of handcuffs.
Rick Granger:
“Where did those come from?!”
Matthews and Thompson
desperately double-team Duke from behind, finally managing to overpower him
after repeated stomps and strikes.
The fans boo
mercilessly.
The Dynamic Duo drag
Duke toward the side of the cage and viciously handcuff one wrist to the steel
mesh.
CLANK!
Sam Duffy:
“You’ve gotta be kidding me!”
Duke struggles
furiously, rattling the cage while screaming at the two men.
But Biceps still
cannot recover enough to help.
Rick Granger:
“They’ve trapped him!”
The Dynamic Duo look
at each other… smirk… and calmly walk toward the cage door.
The audience
absolutely ERUPTS with fury.
Sam Duffy:
“No! Not like this!”
The two men casually
step through the open cage door while Duke violently shakes the steel behind
them.
Rick Granger:
“Oh these people are LIVID!”
Boos rain down
throughout the arena as The Dynamic Duo quickly backpedal up the aisle laughing
and celebrating.
Inside the cage, Duke
continues struggling against the handcuffs while officials rush down trying to
free him.
Sam Duffy:
“This is disgusting!”
Rick Granger:
“They stole this match!”
Biceps slowly crawls
toward Duke while the crowd loudly chants:
“BULLSHT! BULLSHT!
BULLSH*T!”
Voltage fades out on
the image of an enraged Duke Knight still chained helplessly to the steel cage
while The Dynamic Duo retreat victoriously up the entrance ramp.
The camera returns to
ringside where the crowd is still loudly booing while officials finally manage
to unlock the handcuffs from the steel cage.
Duke Knight
immediately turns and kicks the cage wall in frustration while Biceps Bannerman
slowly pulls himself back to his feet nearby.
Sam Duffy:
“I cannot believe what we just witnessed.”
Rick Granger:
“The Dynamic Duo survived by any means necessary tonight.”
Sam Duffy:
“Survived? Rick, they cheated! They used handcuffs inside a steel cage match
after an illegal loaded elbow strike to win this thing!”
The crowd erupts
again with boos.
Rick Granger:
“I didn’t say it was pretty, Sam. But strategically? They knew Duke Knight was
still dangerous after the pinfall. They found a way out.”
Sam Duffy:
“And now listen to this crowd! These fans are furious!”
The camera cuts
briefly to angry fans near ringside yelling toward the aisle where The Dynamic
Duo escaped moments earlier.
Rick Granger:
“Well I’ll tell you one thing — this issue is NOT over.”
Sam Duffy:
“No, not even close.”
Inside the ring, Duke
helps Biceps stand upright before both men glare toward the entrance ramp as
officials continue speaking with them.
Sam Duffy:
“What an unbelievable night here on Voltage. Skyline Vega successfully debuts
on Proving Grounds, Avery St. Claire survives the Ladies Contract-in-the-Case
Battle Royal, and The Dynamic Duo escape the steel cage in one of the most
controversial endings we’ve seen all year.”
Rick Granger:
“And somewhere up north right now, Jack Lumber is battling Mordred at NPCW: The
Long Night. It’s been a huge night across the wrestling world.”
Sam Duffy:
“For Rick Granger, I’m Sam Duffy saying thank you for joining us for another
installment of the HCW Wrestling Newsletter. We’ll see you next time for HCW
Voltage!”
The final shot shows
Duke Knight still staring furiously toward the stage while the crowd continues
buzzing loudly around the arena.
The Voltage logo
flashes onto the screen as the broadcast fades to black.
