Wrestling Newsletter Year 4 (2009) 4.2

Well fans, it appears I’m on a role so here we go.
2008/2009 also saw many departures from the business. Those who have opted to not remain as employees include:
JBL, Bobby Lashley, Albert, Steven Richards, Lance Cade, Sandman, Hardcore Holly, Tomko, Ric Flair, Chris Masters, Raven, Chuck Palumbo, and Senshi. With this many people leaving the business, once (if) this is started up again, a new draft will be held. The current champions will be eligible to be drafted but will not be stripped of their titles.
2008 marked a significant event to the industry with the retirement of Ric Flair from ative competition. Ric has asked for one final match. This match will be considered Ric’s retirement match. Ric will have the ability to choose any opponent. If that person is not a member of the HWF or CSWA, then we will have to negotiate with that person. An insider to Ric’s camp has let us know that there are quite a few names out there that Ric would be interested in competiting against for his final match. Some of the names that have been leaked out include Sting, HHH, Hulk Hogan, The Undertaker, Shawn Michaels, Abdullah the butcher, and if he is willing to come out of retirement himself, Ricky “the Dragon” Steamboat. Mr. Steamboat was contacted but did not rule an appearance out.
We also get to welcome back Chris Jericho to the fold. Mr. Jericho has not been assigned to a brand as of yet but has stated he wanted to compete in a match. Batista has mentioned he would like to participate at the ppv so if Jericho accepts, we will have another match on the card.
There are tons of performers who are not scheduled for singles or tag team action but we do know that all members of both rosters (this includes Donnie B and MW3) will partake in the battle royal so everyone will get some time (albeit short screen time for some).
NEWS FLASH: Two performers from the past were asked to also participate in singles action. This would be a one-time performance. Fortunately, both have agreed so we are pleased to announce Bobby Lashley taking on current UFC Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar.

Here is the PPV as it currently stands:
MITB Battle Royal
Super Warrior vs. John Morrison
Undertaker vs. Sting
Scott and Rick Steiner vs. The Hardys
Booker vs. Viscera
Edge vs. Charlie Haas
Jay Lethal vs. Tommy Dreamer
Jeff Jarrett vs. Samoa Joe (rematch)
John Cena vs. Christian Cage (rematch)
AJ Styles vs. Santino Marella
MW3 vs. Shawn Michaels
MVP vs. Rey Mysterio
Donnie B and Negronomicon vs. Chavo Guerrero and Paul London
Kurt Angle vs. HHH
Ric Flair vs. ????
Chris Jericho vs. Batista
Brock Lesnar vs. Bobby Lashley
HWF Champ vs. CSWA Champ – the winner goes to meet Kurt Angle for the Undisputed Heavyweight Championship.
The Kane/Abyss match has been put on hold at this time as neither man wanted to be buried in an undercard match. Both feel that they can offer a Main Event match so we will see what happens down the road.
