Sam
Duffy:
Hello wrestling fans and welcome back to another installment of the HCW
Wrestling Newsletter! We are just days away from Meltdown, and if you thought
everyone was content to wait until the pay-per-view, think again. I'm Sam Duffy
alongside Rick Granger, and we've got an incredible night of action ahead.
Rick
Granger:
This is the kind of show I love, Sam. Tempers are boiling over, championships
are getting closer, and careers can change in one night. Everybody says
Meltdown is where legends are made. I say tonight is where the lucky ones earn
the right to even get there.
Sam
Duffy:
We've got the opening round of the Iron Maidens Tag Team Tournament as four
teams begin their quest for a future opportunity at the HCW Iron Maidens Tag
Team Championship. Plus, Heritage Women's Champion Korbi Kong puts her
championship on the line against Valeria Vex after Valeria earned this
opportunity with a huge non-title victory.
Rick
Granger:
And something
tells me this isn't going to be a quiet night, Sam. We're only days away from
Meltdown, and there are a lot of people in that locker room who believe they've
been overlooked. All it takes is one opportunity to change everything.
Sam
Duffy:
That's
certainly true, Rick. With Meltdown just around the corner, emotions are
running high, and if history has taught us anything, it's that anything can
happen when the pressure starts to build.
We'll also
hear from Larry Morton throughout the evening, Koa Mauler is in action before
his Tribal Rules showdown with Raku at Meltdown, and you never know what
emotions will spill over when the biggest event of the summer is right around
the corner.
Rick
Granger:
Just remember this, Sam... everybody wants to talk about momentum. Momentum
doesn't matter if you can't finish the job. Tonight, somebody's dreams get a
lot bigger... and somebody else's just might come crashing down.
Sam
Duffy:
We've got a packed house, an electric atmosphere, and the road to Meltdown
continues right now on HCW Voltage!
"Shine"
begins to play throughout the arena as colorful lights dance across the crowd.
Sparkle
and Twinkle emerge onto the stage wearing bright smiles, slapping hands with
fans along the entrance ramp before stopping to point toward the ring together.
The sisters feed off the crowd's energy as they make their way to ringside,
knowing a victory tonight moves them one step closer to earning an HCW Iron
Maidens Tag Team Championship opportunity.
Sam
Duffy:
"The road to the Iron Maidens Tag Team Championship begins right here.
Four teams, two opening-round matches, and only one team will advance from
Shockwave as the tournament winners."
Rick
Granger:
"And let's not pretend this is just another tournament, Sam. Whoever wins
this thing is walking straight into a championship match. Every shortcut, every
blind tag, every cheap trick... it's all worth it."
The Tinsel
Twins climb opposite turnbuckles, waving enthusiastically to the crowd before
meeting in the center of the ring.
The upbeat
atmosphere quickly changes as "Survivor" hits.
Penny Hall
steps onto the stage first, wearing her trademark confident smirk. Beside her,
Trinity Bowman scans the ring with a cold, focused stare. Neither woman wastes
a second acknowledging the crowd as they march directly toward the ring, their
attention fixed solely on the tournament and the championship opportunity
waiting at the end of it.
Sam
Duffy:
"Penny Hall and Trinity Bowman have made no secret of their intentions.
They're not here to entertain anyone—they're here to win."
Rick
Granger:
"Good. Finally, somebody with the right attitude. Leave the smiling and
waving to the Tinsel Twins. Penny and Trinity understand that tournaments
aren't about making friends—they're about surviving and advancing."
Both women
enter the ring and immediately retreat to their corner, quietly discussing
strategy while staring across at their opponents.
Sam
Duffy:
"The winners advance to the tournament finals this Wednesday on Shockwave.
Momentum starts here."
The
official checks with both teams before calling for the opening bell.
The
opening match set the tone for the evening as both teams wrestled with a sense
of urgency befitting a tournament where every mistake could end championship
aspirations. Penny Hall and Trinity Bowman immediately slowed the pace, making
frequent tags and forcing Sparkle to absorb the bulk of the punishment during
the early minutes.
Sam
Duffy:
"That's exactly what experienced tournament teams try to do. Cut the ring
in half, isolate one opponent, and make every tag count."
Rick
Granger:
"Finally, somebody wrestling with a brain instead of their heart. Penny
and Trinity aren't worried about making friends—they're worried about
advancing."
Sparkle
refused to stay down, repeatedly battling back with explosive offense whenever
an opening appeared. After weathering several tandem attacks, she managed to
reach Twinkle, and the momentum swung dramatically. The Tinsel Twins showcased
the chemistry that has made them one of the most exciting teams in HCW,
stringing together crisp double-team combinations that left Trinity reeling.
The crowd erupted as Twinkle's rapid-fire offense and Sparkle's Shining Wizard
nearly carried the sisters all the way to an upset victory.
Sam
Duffy:
"The Tinsel Twins have completely changed the complexion of this match!
Their teamwork is second to none when they get rolling."
Rick
Granger:
"I'll give them this much—they're dangerous. But tournaments aren't won
with momentum. They're won with execution."
To their
credit, Penny and Trinity never allowed the match to slip completely out of
their control. Whenever the Tinsel Twins appeared ready to seize the advantage,
one of the veterans found a way to halt the rally with timely tags, quick
counters, or perfectly placed double-team offense. Trinity's standing dropkicks
and bridging suplexes repeatedly stopped Sparkle in her tracks, while Penny
constantly inserted herself at just the right moments to keep the pressure
squarely on the fan favorites.
As the
match entered its closing moments, Sparkle made one final desperate push, but
Trinity remained composed. She caught Sparkle out of position, muscled her into
a beautifully executed Bridging Suplex, and maintained the bridge flawlessly as
the referee's hand struck the mat three times.
Sam
Duffy:
"What a sequence by Trinity Bowman! She weathered the storm, stayed
patient, and capitalized the instant Sparkle made a mistake."
Rick
Granger:
"I told you, Sam. Penny and Trinity came here to win the tournament—not a
popularity contest. That's how professionals finish the job."
With the
victory, Penny Hall and Trinity Bowman advanced to the Iron Maidens Tag Team
Tournament Final on Shockwave, taking one decisive step closer to an HCW Iron
Maidens Tag Team Championship opportunity, while the Tinsel Twins were left to
wonder how close they had come before one perfectly timed suplex ended their
tournament dreams.
The
broadcast returns backstage where Larry Morton stands beside tonight's
Heritage Women's Championship challenger, Valeria Vex. Dressed for
competition and wearing a confident expression, Valeria keeps her eyes locked
on the camera while Larry raises the HCW microphone.
Larry
Morton:
"Valeria, later tonight you'll challenge Korbi Kong for the HCW Heritage
Women's Championship. This opportunity came after you scored an impressive
non-title victory over the champion. Some people have called it an upset. Do
you believe you caught Korbi on an off night...or do you think tonight we'll
see history repeat itself?"
Valeria
allows herself a slight smile before answering.
Valeria
Vex:
"People love using words like 'upset' because it protects champions. If
they lose, there has to be an excuse."
She shakes
her head.
Valeria
Vex:
"I didn't get lucky. I outwrestled Korbi Kong. One night. One match. One
victory. That's all HCW management needed to see because around here,
opportunities are earned."
Valeria
steps a little closer to the camera.
Valeria
Vex:
"Korbi is powerful. She's relentless. I respect everything she's
accomplished."
A brief
pause.
Valeria
Vex:
"But respect doesn't mean fear."
Her tone
sharpens.
Valeria
Vex:
"Tonight, I don't have to prove I can beat Korbi."
She points
toward the arena.
Valeria
Vex:
"I've already done that."
Another
pause.
Valeria
Vex:
"Tonight, I prove I can do it when the championship is on the line."
Larry nods
appreciatively.
Larry
Morton:
"Confident words from Valeria Vex. Later tonight, she'll look to turn one
impressive victory into championship gold when she challenges Korbi Kong for
the HCW Heritage Women's Championship."
The camera
fades back toward ringside as the anticipation for the night's main event
continues to build.
The camera
returns to ringside where Sam Duffy and Rick Granger are seated at the
commentary desk.
Sam
Duffy:
"Valeria Vex certainly isn't lacking confidence. She earned tonight's
opportunity by defeating Korbi Kong in non-title competition, but championships
have a way of bringing out the very best in a champion."
Rick
Granger:
"I like her attitude. She isn't begging for respect—she took it. But let's
not forget, Sam, beating Korbi once is impressive. Doing it with the Heritage
Women's Championship on the line is a completely different challenge."
Sam
Duffy:
"Still to come tonight, we'll find out if Valeria can finish what she
started. But first, we've got a matchup that could have major implications
heading into Meltdown."
A dark,
pounding rhythm echoes through the arena as Otto Ruthless steps onto the stage.
His cold stare never leaves the ring as he marches purposefully down the aisle,
ignoring the jeers from the HCW faithful. Otto climbs onto the apron, wipes his
boots deliberately, and steps through the ropes, quietly pacing his corner
while awaiting his opponent.
Sam
Duffy:
"Otto Ruthless has built a reputation on being as methodical as he is
dangerous. If Koa Mauler overlooks him because of what's waiting at Meltdown,
it could be a costly mistake."
Rick
Granger:
"That's exactly what Koa's thinking about, Sam. I'd be shocked if Tribal
Rules isn't already occupying every corner of his mind."
The arena
lights dim before Koa Mauler's entrance theme hits. The crowd responds with a
mixed reaction as Koa confidently walks onto the stage, showing little emotion.
He pauses briefly, scanning the arena before locking eyes with Otto in the
ring. Koa nods once, then continues his deliberate march toward the squared
circle, never breaking his stare.
Sliding
into the ring, Koa rises to his feet and steps toward the center, stopping just
short of Otto. The two exchange a long, silent stare before the referee quickly
motions them back to their respective corners.
Sam
Duffy:
"Whether you cheer him or not, Koa Mauler has become one of the toughest
competitors in HCW. Tonight is about taking care of business before Tribal
Rules at Meltdown."
Rick
Granger:
"That's easier said than done. Otto Ruthless doesn't care about Meltdown,
Raku, or anyone else. He'd love nothing more than to spoil Koa's momentum and
remind everybody that overlooking him is a mistake."
The
referee checks with both competitors before signaling for the opening bell.
What began
as a methodical contest quickly evolved into a grueling war of attrition, with
neither Koa Mauler nor Otto Ruthless willing to surrender an inch. Otto's
experience frustrated Koa early, repeatedly cutting off the bigger man's
momentum with timely counters and grinding offense. A perfectly applied Yukon
Cloverleaf had Koa trapped in the center of the ring, but the Samoan powerhouse
dug deep, refusing to submit despite the obvious pain.
Sam
Duffy:
"Otto Ruthless is making Koa earn every second of this victory. This has
been an outstanding performance from Ruthless."
Rick
Granger:
"And this is exactly why you don't overlook veterans, Sam. Everybody's
talking about Raku. Otto's out here reminding everyone he's still a dangerous
man."
Koa
gradually began imposing his physical style, driving Otto backward with
thunderous suplexes, crushing body slams, and stiff strikes that echoed
throughout the arena. Every time it looked like the momentum had finally
shifted, Otto answered with another well-timed clothesline, swinging
neckbreaker, or elbow drop, refusing to allow Koa any sustained control. The
match settled into a punishing back-and-forth battle where neither competitor
could create the separation needed to finish the other.
Sam
Duffy:
"This has become a battle of endurance. Both men have absorbed tremendous
punishment, yet neither one is giving an inch."
Rick
Granger:
"Otto's making Koa pay for every mistake. If Koa survives this, he's going
to limp into Meltdown."
As the
match wore on, fatigue finally began catching up to Otto. Koa sensed it,
increasing the pace and forcing Otto to defend against increasingly powerful
offense. Otto narrowly escaped disaster by kicking out after Koa's devastating
Eye of the Storm, then somehow survived a second pin attempt moments later
after a crushing Lift & Drop brought the crowd to its feet.
Sam
Duffy:
"I don't know how Otto Ruthless kicked out! Koa threw everything he had at
him!"
Rick
Granger:
"That's veteran toughness! Otto isn't handing anybody a victory—not even
Koa Mauler."
The
repeated kick-outs only fueled Koa's determination. As Otto staggered back to
his feet one final time, Koa exploded forward, hoisting his opponent high into
the air before driving him violently to the canvas with a thunderous Eye of
the Storm (Pop-Up Samoan Drop).
Honest
Abe dropped
into position.
1...
2...
3!
Winner: Koa Mauler via Eye of the
Storm (Pop-Up Samoan Drop)
Sam
Duffy:
"What a fight! Otto Ruthless pushed Koa Mauler to his absolute limit, but
in the end, the Eye of the Storm was simply too much."
Rick
Granger:
"I'll give Koa credit—he earned this one. But if that match took this much
out of him, Raku has to be smiling somewhere."
Koa slowly
rose to his feet, breathing heavily as Honest Abe raised his arm in victory.
Rather than celebrating with the crowd, Koa's expression hardened. He looked
toward the entranceway, motioned for a microphone, and waited as the arena
buzzed with anticipation over what he might have to say next.
Koa
accepted the microphone without taking his eyes off the entranceway.
The crowd
quieted, sensing that this wasn't going to be a victory celebration.
Koa
Mauler:
"Twenty-eight minutes."
He nodded
to himself.
Koa
Mauler:
"Otto Ruthless brought everything he had, and he's still looking up at the
lights."
The
audience reacted with a mix of cheers and boos.
Koa
Mauler:
"And now everybody wants to know about Tribal Rules."
A grin
slowly crossed his face.
Koa
Mauler:
"Everybody keeps telling me Samoan Stomper Raku is the future of
HCW."
He shook
his head.
Koa
Mauler:
"I don't see the future."
Another
pause.
Koa
Mauler:
"I see another man standing in my way."
The crowd
erupted as Samoan Stomper Raku's music blasted throughout the arena.
Raku
strode onto the stage with purpose, his expression never changing. He didn't
acknowledge the fans.
He didn't
pose.
He simply
locked eyes with Koa.
Sam
Duffy:
"Here comes Raku!"
Rick
Granger:
"I was wondering how long it'd take!"
Raku made
his way down the aisle without hesitation, climbing onto the apron before
stepping through the ropes. The atmosphere inside the arena became electric as
the two massive Samoans stood nose-to-nose in the center of the ring.
Officials
immediately sprinted from the backstage area, surrounding both men before
either could make the first move.
Koa
lowered the microphone.
Neither
man blinked.
Neither
man backed away.
For
several tense seconds, the only sound inside the arena was the roar of the
crowd.
Finally,
Raku slowly pointed toward the giant Meltdown logo displayed on the
Omegatron.
Koa
glanced up at the screen...then back at Raku.
A
confident smirk crept across his face.
He gave a
single nod.
Without
another word, Koa stepped backward and exited the ring, never taking his eyes
off Raku. Raku remained standing in the center of the ring as officials
continued to keep the two rivals separated.
Sam
Duffy:
"Sometimes words aren't necessary. These two know exactly what's waiting
for them at Meltdown."
Rick
Granger:
"I wanted a fight."
Sam
Duffy:
"You'll get one in Tribal Rules."
Rick
Granger:
"If this stare-down is any indication, Meltdown might not be able to
contain these two."
As Koa
slowly backed up the entrance ramp and Raku remained motionless inside the
ring, the camera lingered on the silent confrontation before fading to a
commercial break, leaving the collision everyone had been waiting for just days
away.
The
broadcast returns to ringside where Sam Duffy and Rick Granger are still seated
at the commentary desk as we return from commercial.
Sam
Duffy:
"What an incredible scene just moments ago. Koa Mauler and Samoan Stomper
Raku stood face-to-face, and for a moment I don't think anyone believed
officials would be able to keep them apart."
Rick
Granger:
"I'll tell you what I saw, Sam. I saw two men who aren't afraid of each
other. That's dangerous. They wanted to fight tonight—they just realized
they've got a bigger payday waiting at Meltdown."
Sam
Duffy:
"And that's exactly what Tribal Rules is all about. Pride. Family. Legacy.
Those two are on a collision course."
Before Sam
can continue, a familiar entrance theme interrupts with “I’VE GOT SOME BAD NEWS
FOR YA” blares from the speaker.
The crowd
immediately showers Marvin Barnes with boos as he marches onto the stage
carrying a microphone.
He doesn't
smile.
He doesn't
acknowledge the fans.
He walks
directly into the ring, visibly irritated.
Rick
Granger:
"Now here's a man who's got something to say."
Sam
Duffy:
"I've got a feeling this isn't a scheduled appearance."
Marvin
paces the ring for a moment before raising the microphone.
Marvin
Barnes:
"You people ever notice how some guys have to scratch and claw for every
opportunity..."
He points
toward the entrance.
Marvin
Barnes:
"...while other people just have doors opened for them?"
The crowd
boos louder.
Marvin
Barnes:
"I've busted my back in HCW."
He pounds
his chest.
Marvin
Barnes:
"I've paid my dues."
Another
pause.
Marvin
Barnes:
"So somebody explain to me..."
He points
toward the locker room.
Marvin
Barnes:
"...why Dominic Marconi gets to walk straight into a World Championship
opportunity while I'm expected to sit back and clap like everybody else."
Rick
Granger:
"He's got a point."
Sam
Duffy:
"A point? Dominic Marconi has earned every opportunity he's
received."
Marvin
laughs sarcastically.
Marvin
Barnes:
"Earned?"
He shakes
his head.
Marvin
Barnes:
"If that's what we're calling it now... then maybe it's time somebody
proved who's really earned it."
Marvin
walks to the ropes nearest the entranceway.
Marvin
Barnes:
"Dominic!"
The crowd
erupts as Dominic Marconi steps onto the stage.
Dominic
doesn't rush.
He doesn't
posture.
He simply
walks to the ring with a calm expression, climbs through the ropes, and stands
directly across from Marvin.
The
tension is immediate.
Dominic
Marconi:
"You called me out."
A brief
pause.
Dominic
Marconi:
"I'm here."
The crowd
applauds.
Marvin
smirks.
Marvin
Barnes:
"Then prove you're worthy of all these opportunities."
Before
either man can continue, GM Max McGillicutty appears on the stage.
Microphone
in hand.
His
expression says he's already heard enough.
Max
McGillicutty:
"Gentlemen... that's enough."
The
General Manager walks to the ring as both competitors keep their eyes locked on
one another.
Max
McGillicutty:
"Marvin... you've made your case."
He turns
toward Dominic.
Max
McGillicutty:
"Dominic..."
A slight
pause.
Max
McGillicutty:
"Do you accept Marvin's challenge?"
Dominic
never takes his eyes off Barnes.
Dominic
Marconi:
"If Marvin thinks I'm standing in the way of his opportunity..."
Another
brief pause.
Dominic
Marconi:
"...then let's settle it."
The crowd
roars in approval.
Max nods
once.
Max
McGillicutty:
"Good."
He points
toward both men.
Max
McGillicutty:
"Tonight, right now..."
"...the
two of you face each other."
"The
winner earns the next HCW World Championship match against Zack Brown at Meltdown."
Another
loud ovation fills the arena.
Max
McGillicutty:
"Now stop talking..."
"...and
prove it."
Max exits
the ring as Marvin and Dominic remain face-to-face, the tension growing by the
second while the audience realizes the stakes for the next match have just
become enormous.
As Max
McGillicutty disappears behind the curtain, the arena erupts once again as the
HCW World Champion's music fills the building.
The
Commando Zack Brown
walks onto the stage with the HCW World Championship draped confidently over
his shoulder. He pauses for a moment, surveying the ring where Dominic Marconi
and Marvin Barnes continue to glare at one another before making his way toward
the commentary desk.
Sam
Duffy:
"Well, here comes the man both of these competitors are fighting to face
at Meltdown."
Rick
Granger:
"Smart move. Why watch this from the locker room when you can get the best
seat in the house?"
Zack
shakes hands with Sam and Rick before taking the empty chair beside them. He
removes the championship from his shoulder and carefully places it across the
commentary desk.
Sam
Duffy:
"Zack, thanks for joining us."
Zack
Brown:
"I wasn't going to miss this one. Max just made it official—the winner
gets me at Meltdown. I want a front-row seat to find out who I've got to
prepare for."
Rick
Granger:
"Who would you rather face?"
Zack
smiles.
Zack
Brown:
"If I start picking opponents, I'm already making mistakes. Dominic's one
of the toughest men in HCW. Marvin's hungry and thinks the world's been against
him. Either way... whoever wins tonight better bring their best."
With Zack
settling into commentary, Marvin retreats to his corner while Dominic removes
his entrance jacket, both men now fully focused on the opportunity that awaits
them.
Sam
Duffy:
"The champion is watching, Meltdown hangs in the balance, and this one is
about to get underway."
The
emotional confrontation before the opening bell carried directly into the match
as neither Dominic Marconi nor Marvin Barnes wasted any time backing up their
words. Barnes fought with the desperation of a man convinced this was the
opportunity that had always been denied him, while Dominic remained composed,
matching Marvin's intensity without allowing his emotions to take control.
Watching
from the commentary desk, Zack Brown leaned forward, studying every exchange.
Sam
Duffy:
"You can feel how much this means to both men. Marvin demanded this
opportunity, and Dominic accepted without hesitation."
Rick
Granger:
"Marvin isn't out here for sympathy, Sam. He's out here to prove
management should've been talking about him all along."
Zack
Brown:
"I expected this. Neither one of these guys knows how to back down."
Barnes
struck first with several explosive bursts of offense, including his
devastating Star Effect Sitout Side Slam and the Crossbow Cutter, forcing
Dominic onto the defensive. Every time it looked like Marvin was about to seize
complete control, Dominic answered with his trademark toughness, grinding the
pace down and making Barnes work for every inch of momentum.
The match
quickly became less about spectacular offense and more about who could impose
their style first. Dominic repeatedly attacked Marvin's back with crushing
backbreakers and power offense, while Barnes continued looking for one decisive
shot capable of ending the contest before Dominic could wear him down.
Sam
Duffy:
"Dominic is wrestling a very disciplined match. He's picking a body part
and refusing to let Marvin dictate the pace."
Rick
Granger:
"Marvin has to stay aggressive. The longer this goes, the more it favors
Dominic's power game."
Zack
Brown:
"That's what makes Dominic dangerous. He doesn't panic. He just keeps
wearing you down."
Barnes
refused to stay down, escaping Dominic's first submission attempt despite
obvious discomfort. The resilience only earned the champion's respect at
commentary.
Zack
Brown:
"I'll give Marvin this much...he's tougher than people give him credit
for."
That
determination, however, would only delay the inevitable.
Moments
later, Dominic drove Barnes into the canvas with another crushing Backbreaker,
immediately trapping him in the painful hold once again. This time there was
nowhere for Marvin to go.
With the
pressure becoming unbearable, Barnes had no choice.
He slapped
the mat.
Sam
Duffy:
"Marvin Barnes has submitted!"
Honest
Abe
immediately called for the bell.
Winner: Dominic Marconi via Backbreaker
(Submission)
Sam
Duffy:
"What an outstanding performance by Dominic Marconi! Marvin Barnes threw
everything he had at him, but Dominic stayed composed and earned his place at
Meltdown."
Rick
Granger:
"I don't like it, but Dominic earned it. Marvin made him fight for every
second of that victory."
Zack
Brown:
"I said before the match that I'd have to be ready for either man."
Zack
Brown slowly stands from the commentary desk, never taking his eyes off Dominic
Marconi.
He picks
up the HCW World Championship and rests it over his shoulder.
Without
saying a word, Zack walks toward the ring.
Sam
Duffy:
"I don't think the champion is coming out here to start a fight."
Rick
Granger:
"He'd better not. Dominic just went through a war."
Zack stops
at ringside.
Dominic,
still recovering from the match, notices him and turns.
The two
men lock eyes.
The crowd
rises to its feet.
For
several long moments, neither competitor speaks.
Neither
smiles.
Neither
gestures.
Just
mutual respect...and the understanding that they're now on a collision course.
Finally,
Zack gives a subtle nod.
Dominic
returns it.
Zack turns
and walks back toward the entrance as Dominic's music begins playing again.
Sam
Duffy:
"Two professionals."
Rick
Granger:
"Professional or not, one of them is walking out of Meltdown without that
championship."
We cut to
commercial.
The
following message is brought to you by Heritage Championship Wrestling's great
sponsors.
~
Commercial Break ~
The
broadcast returns to ringside as Sam Duffy and Rick Granger sit once again at
the commentary desk.
Sam
Duffy:
"Welcome back to HCW Voltage. If you're just joining us, Dominic Marconi
earned the next HCW World Championship opportunity after defeating Marvin
Barnes. That means Dominic Marconi will challenge Zack Brown for the HCW World
Championship at Meltdown."
Rick
Granger:
"I still think Marvin Barnes had a legitimate complaint, but Dominic
answered every question in that ring. Zack Brown knows he's got a fight waiting
for him."
Sam
Duffy:
"And now we turn our attention back to the Iron Maidens Tag Team
Tournament. Earlier tonight, Penny Hall and Trinity Bowman punched their ticket
to the tournament finals. We're about to find out who joins them this Wednesday
on Shockwave."
An eerie
melody fills the arena as the lights dim to shades of violet and deep blue.
Nyx
Evermore emerges from the darkness, her calm, focused demeanor contrasting
sharply with the vibrant energy of her partner. Moments later, Starla Nove
bursts onto the stage with an infectious smile, pointing toward the crowd
before joining Nyx at center stage. The two exchange a nod before making their
way to the ring, feeding off the fans' enthusiastic support.
Sam
Duffy:
"Nyx Evermore and Starla Nove have quickly developed into one of the most
intriguing young teams in HCW. Tonight is their biggest opportunity yet."
Rick
Granger:
"They're talented, Sam, but tournaments aren't won on potential. Let's see
how they handle a team that's more interested in winning than making a good
first impression."
The pair
slide into the ring and confidently take their corner as the arena suddenly
fills with boos.
"Hot
Stuff"
hits.
Ashley
Summers struts confidently onto the stage with a smug grin, while Veronica
Flame follows just behind her, radiating confidence with every step. Neither
woman pays the fans the slightest bit of attention as they make their way down
the aisle, exchanging amused glances at the hostile reception.
Sam
Duffy:
"Ashley Summers and Veronica Flame have all the talent in the world, but
they've never been shy about bending the rules whenever it benefits them."
Rick
Granger:
"That's called being smart. You don't get bonus points for being popular.
Ashley and Veronica know exactly what's at stake—a win tonight puts them one
match away from a championship opportunity."
Ashley and
Veronica enter the ring slowly, deliberately taking their time before
retreating to their corner. Ashley smirks across the ring while Veronica leans
comfortably against the ropes, clearly enjoying the frustration of the HCW
faithful.
Sam
Duffy:
"One team moves on to Shockwave. The other goes home empty-handed."
Rick
Granger:
"And if I'm putting money on anybody, it's the team that's willing to do
whatever it takes."
Honest
Abe checks
with both teams before signaling for the opening bell.
The second
semifinal of the Iron Maidens Tag Team Tournament unfolded as a clash of
contrasting styles. Ashley Summers and Veronica Flame relied on confidence,
aggression, and frequent teamwork to dictate the early pace, while Nyx Evermore
and Starla Nove weathered the storm with patience, waiting for the right
opportunity to turn the tide.
Ashley
came out looking every bit like the leader of her team, repeatedly overwhelming
Nyx with punishing offense. Spears, Diamond Cutters, and quick tags to Veronica
kept the fan favorites off balance, while the two heels showed excellent
chemistry during several stretches of sustained double-team offense.
Sam
Duffy:
"Ashley and Veronica have controlled much of this match through smart tags
and excellent teamwork. They've looked every bit like a team determined to
reach Shockwave."
Rick
Granger:
"That's because Ashley's doing exactly what she's supposed to do—taking
charge. Somebody has to be the leader."
Despite
absorbing a tremendous amount of punishment, Nyx refused to fold. Every
comeback she mounted created just enough space to reach Starla, and once the
fresh partner entered the match, the momentum began shifting. Starla's
high-energy offense forced Ashley to abandon her methodical pace, while Nyx
repeatedly returned to neutralize Veronica whenever she tried inserting herself
into the action.
As the
match wore on, however, something subtle became noticeable.
Ashley
repeatedly found herself carrying the heavier workload while Veronica seemed
increasingly eager to be the one who delivered the decisive blow. More than
once, Ashley glanced toward her partner with visible irritation after Veronica
tagged herself into advantageous situations.
Sam
Duffy:
"I'm not sure Ashley Summers liked that tag."
Rick
Granger:
"Oh, come on, Sam. Veronica wants to win the match. That's called
initiative."
Sam
Duffy:
"Or maybe both women want to be the one getting the credit."
The pace
quickened dramatically during the closing minutes as all four competitors
traded momentum. Starla survived a pair of Spears from Ashley, while Nyx and
Starla countered with crisp tandem offense that finally began wearing the heels
down. Ashley looked poised to finish the match herself before once again
handing the match back to Veronica.
That
decision proved costly.
Starla
caught Veronica isolated in the ring and drove her backward with a perfectly
timed Dropkick.
Honest
Abe dropped
into position.

Winner: Nyx Evermore & Starla Nove
via Dropkick (Starla Nove pinned Veronica Flame)
Sam
Duffy:
"What a tremendous comeback! Nyx Evermore and Starla Nove are heading to
Shockwave!"
Rick
Granger:
"I don't like that tag at all. Ashley had this match under control, and
somehow Veronica winds up being the one staring at the lights."
As Nyx and
Starla celebrated their hard-earned victory, Ashley slowly climbed back into
the ring, her expression telling the entire story.
Veronica
extended a hand, attempting to explain what had happened.
Ashley
wasn't interested.
She
slapped Veronica's hand away.
For
several tense moments, the two women exchanged heated words in the center of
the ring as Nyx and Starla quietly exited up the entrance ramp, choosing not to
involve themselves.
Sam
Duffy:
"There's obvious frustration between Ashley Summers and Veronica
Flame."
Rick
Granger:
"Ashley's frustrated because they lost. Veronica's frustrated because she
got caught. They'll get over it."
Ashley
took one final step toward Veronica before turning sharply and storming out of
the ring alone, leaving Veronica standing in stunned silence.
Sam
Duffy:
"I don't know, Rick... that looked like more than frustration."
The camera
lingered on Veronica, still watching Ashley disappear backstage, as the seeds
of dissension appeared to have been planted within the once-confident duo.
The camera
transitions backstage where Larry Morton stands beside the reigning HCW
Heritage Women's Champion, Korbi Kong. The championship rests
confidently over Korbi's shoulder as she stares straight ahead, her expression
calm but intense.
Larry Morton:
"Fans, our main event is just moments away. Earlier tonight we heard from
challenger Valeria Vex, who reminded everyone that she earned this championship
opportunity by defeating you in non-title competition. Korbi... what is your
response?"
Korbi
glances down at the championship before looking back at Larry.
Korbi
Kong:
"My response?"
A slight
smile forms.
Korbi
Kong:
"She's right."
Larry
looks mildly surprised.
Korbi
Kong:
"Valeria beat me."
She nods
once.
Korbi
Kong:
"One night... she was the better competitor."
A brief
pause.
Korbi
Kong:
"And because of that, she earned this opportunity."
Korbi
places a hand on the championship.
Korbi
Kong:
"That's how HCW is supposed to work."
Her tone
immediately hardens.
Korbi
Kong:
"But earning a title match..."
She pats
the faceplate of the championship.
Korbi
Kong:
"...and taking this away from me are two very different things."
Larry
raises the microphone again.
Larry
Morton:
"So you're not overlooking Valeria tonight?"
Korbi lets
out a quiet chuckle.
Korbi
Kong:
"Overlooking her?"
She shakes
her head.
Korbi
Kong:
"That would be the biggest mistake I could make."
Korbi
steps closer to the camera.
Korbi
Kong:
"I know exactly how good Valeria Vex is."
Another
pause.
Korbi
Kong:
"That's why she's getting the very best version of Korbi Kong."
She
adjusts the championship on her shoulder.
Korbi
Kong:
"She proved she could beat me."
A
confident smile crosses her face.
Korbi
Kong:
"Now she has to prove she can beat a champion who's ready for her."
Korbi
walks out of frame toward the arena entrance.
Larry
Morton:
"There you have it. Mutual respect... but absolute confidence from the
Heritage Women's Champion. Korbi Kong defends against Valeria Vex in tonight's
main event... and it's coming up next."
The camera
returns to ringside one final time as Sam Duffy and Rick Granger prepare for
the night's championship main event.
Sam
Duffy:
"I was impressed by what Korbi Kong had to say. She didn't make excuses
for the loss. She acknowledged that Valeria Vex earned this opportunity, and
now she intends to prove why she's the Heritage Women's Champion."
Rick
Granger:
"I'll give Korbi credit—that's how a champion should think. No excuses. No
complaints. But don't let the respect fool you, Sam. Once that bell rings,
neither woman is going to care how much they admire the other."
Sam
Duffy:
"And that's what makes this such a compelling main event. Valeria has
already proven she can defeat Korbi. Tonight she tries to do it with the
championship on the line."
Tony
"Echo" Calibur steps into the center of the ring as the crowd settles
in anticipation.
Valeria
Vex's entrance music fills the arena as the challenger confidently walks onto
the stage. She pauses for a moment, taking in the atmosphere before making her
way toward the ring with quiet determination. There are no theatrics—only
complete focus on the championship opportunity she earned. The fans are mixed
in their reactions.
Sam
Duffy:
"Valeria Vex has been waiting for this moment ever since she pinned Korbi
Kong in non-title competition. Tonight, she has the opportunity to complete the
journey."
Rick
Granger:
"She already proved she can beat Korbi once. Now she has to prove she can
handle the pressure that comes with a championship match."
Valeria
climbs through the ropes and takes her corner, never taking her eyes off the
entranceway.
Moments
later, the arena erupts as the Heritage Women's Champion Korbi Kong
emerges with the championship proudly displayed over her shoulder. She raises
the title high above her head before beginning the walk to the ring,
acknowledging the fans on both sides of the aisle while maintaining her
trademark confidence.
Sam
Duffy:
"Since becoming Heritage Women's Champion, Korbi Kong has represented this
championship with pride. Tonight she faces perhaps her toughest challenge yet—a
woman who already owns a victory over her."
Rick
Granger:
"That's exactly why champions get remembered, Sam. Anybody can win a
title. Great champions answer the questions when they're asked."
Korbi
steps through the ropes and walks directly to the center of the ring, holding
the championship high one final time before handing it to the official.
Tony
"Echo" Calibur raises the microphone.
Tony
"Echo" Calibur:
"Ladies and gentlemen... the following contest is scheduled for one
fall... and it is for the HCW Heritage Women's Championship!
Introducing
first... the challenger...VALERIA VEX!”
The crowd offers
a mixture of applause and booing as Valeria raises one arm.
Tony
"Echo" Calibur:
"And her opponent...she is the reigning and defending... HCW HERITAGE
WOMEN'S CHAMPION... KORBI KONG!”
Korbi
raises the championship one final time before handing it to Honest Abe,
who presents the title to all four sides of the arena. After a final check with
both competitors, he returns the championship to ringside, signals for the
bell, and the Voltage main event is officially underway.
From the
opening bell, Valeria Vex wrestled with the confidence of someone convinced
history was about to repeat itself. The challenger came out aggressively,
overwhelming Korbi Kong with a relentless barrage of offense before the
champion could establish any rhythm. A Canadian Backbreaker Codebreaker rocked
Korbi almost immediately, and Valeria continued pouring on the punishment with
a Fallaway Slam, the Wraith of the Goddess Lungblower, and a devastating O-Face
that left the champion struggling to recover.
Sam
Duffy:
"Valeria Vex has come out like a woman possessed! Korbi Kong has barely
had an opportunity to mount any offense."
Rick
Granger:
"This is exactly what Valeria promised, Sam. She said the first victory
wasn't a fluke, and right now she's backing up every word."
Korbi
refused to panic. Even as Valeria dictated nearly every exchange, the champion
continued searching for one opening, surviving an early pin attempt before
finally beginning to chip away at the challenger's momentum with a powerful
Scoop Powerslam.
It wasn't
enough to swing the match.
Valeria
immediately regained control with a crushing Saito Suplex and confidently
hooked the leg, convinced the Heritage Women's Championship was only seconds
away from changing hands.
Sam
Duffy:
"This could do it!"
Rick
Granger:
"New champion!"
But in one
incredible display of championship awareness, Korbi rolled through the pin
attempt, trapping Valeria's shoulders against the mat instead.
Honest
Abe dropped
into position.

3!
Winner: Korbi Kong via Pin Reversal
Sam
Duffy:
"What an unbelievable reversal! Korbi Kong survives and retains the
Heritage Women's Championship!"
Rick
Granger:
"Valeria dominated almost that entire match, Sam. She got caught for one
second... and that's all it took."
Korbi
remained on her knees for a moment, almost stunned by how quickly she had
escaped disaster. Honest Abe handed her the Heritage Women's Championship
before raising her arm in victory as the crowd applauded the champion's
resilience.
Then...
CRACK!
The
celebration came to a violent halt as Valeria Vex blasted Korbi across the back
with a steel chair.
The
audience erupted in shock.
Sam
Duffy:
"Oh, come on! The match is over!"
Korbi
crumpled to the canvas, clutching her back, but Valeria wasn't finished.
CRACK!
A second
chair shot echoed throughout the arena.
Officials
immediately sprinted toward the ring, but Valeria turned and wildly swung the
chair in their direction, forcing them to stop in their tracks.
Rick
Granger:
"I don't agree with this... but after dominating that match and losing the
way she did, I understand exactly why Valeria snapped."
Valeria
tossed the chair aside and slowly bent down, picking up the Heritage Women's
Championship.
She stared
at it.
Her
breathing was heavy.
Her eyes
never left the gold.
With Korbi
still down on the mat and officials finally checking on the champion, Valeria
slowly raised the championship high above her head.
Not in
celebration...
But in
defiance.
Sam
Duffy:
"That title doesn't belong to her!"
Rick
Granger:
"Maybe not tonight... but Valeria Vex clearly believes it should."
Valeria
finally tossed the championship onto Korbi Kong before backing into the corner
with a cold, unblinking stare. Officials surrounded the fallen champion while
Valeria slowly exited the ring, never taking her eyes off Korbi.
The camera
returned to Sam Duffy and Rick Granger.
Sam
Duffy:
"What a disturbing end to what had been an outstanding championship match.
Korbi Kong found a way to retain the Heritage Women's Championship, but Valeria
Vex has made one thing perfectly clear—this rivalry is far from over."
Rick
Granger:
"Valeria lost the match, but she sent a message. Whether you agree with
how she did it or not, nobody's going to forget this night."
Sam
Duffy:
"What a night we've witnessed. Dominic Marconi punched his ticket to
Meltdown and will challenge Zack Brown for the HCW World Championship. Penny
Hall and Trinity Bowman advanced to the Iron Maidens Tournament Final, where
they'll meet Nyx Evermore and Starla Nove this Wednesday on Shockwave. And Koa
Mauler and Samoan Stomper Raku came within inches of tearing each other apart
before their Tribal Rules collision."
Rick
Granger:
"And after what we just saw, don't be surprised if Korbi Kong has
unfinished business with Valeria Vex."
Sam
Duffy:
"For Rick Granger and everyone here at Heritage Championship Wrestling,
thank you for joining us. We'll see you this Wednesday on Shockwave. Good
night, everybody."
The final
shot showed officials helping Korbi Kong to her feet as she accepted the
Heritage Women's Championship back from Honest Abe. From the top of the
entrance ramp, Valeria Vex paused one last time and looked back toward the
ring.
The camera
slowly faded to black.
