HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2024 #1053 –11/30

Hello wrestling fans and welcome back to another installment of the HCW Wrestling Newsletter.  We are less than 3 weeks away from our Zero Hour PPV and there are still a few tickets left to get in on the action live and in person.  On the card tonight, we will see the TV Champion the Banker defend his title against the man who’s become an additional thorn in his side, Million Dollar Alliance member Sterling Silverman.  We will also see the Heritage Women’s Champion defended in a fatal four way but Luciana must be pinned or submitted in order to lose the title. If Luciana is not pinned or submits, whoever gets the win will secure the title shot at the PPV.  The Dark Dominion will also be in action tonight.  The devious Mr. X (provided he doesn’t get bumped) will be in action tonight.

Our show begins backstage in a dark, shadowy corner.  Count Vlad of the Dark Dominion receives a call.

Count Vlad stands in a shadowy corner, his face illuminated by the eerie glow of flickering candles. The phone rings, and Vlad answers it with a sinister smile.

Count Vlad: “Speak.”

Mystery Caller: nervously “Vlad, it’s me. Ruth Heartless may have made a deal with Max McGillicutty for a title shot. I’m worried this could mess things up for us.”

Count Vlad: smirking “I am fully aware. Everything is proceeding as foreseen.”

The caller's voice wavers, revealing his growing anxiety.

Mystery Caller: “But what if she uncovers more? What if Gardinia Blue figures out who the mole is?”  Vlad chuckles softly, his confidence unwavering.

Count Vlad: “Calm yourself. Has anything been uncovered about the New Sicilians or the ‘mole’ by our dear HCW forensic investigator?”

Mystery Caller: relieved “Nothing new has been uncovered.”  Vlad's tone becomes soothing, almost paternal.

Count Vlad: “Good. Trust in our plans. Everything is under control. HCW will be in for a Rude Awakening before they know it.”

The camera zooms in on Vlad’s menacing grin, his eyes filled with dark determination as he ends the call. The scene fades to black, leaving a sense of impending doom lingering in the air.

Pyro goes off and our show is ready to get underway.

The camera cuts to the backstage area where Sterling 'The Silicon Tycoon' is standing confidently alongside his manager, Ruth Heartless. The duo exudes an air of arrogance and superiority as they prepare for the upcoming match. The TV Champion, The Banker, enters the scene, his demeanor equally smug.

Sterling 'The Silicon Tycoon’ Silverman: "Tonight, marks a new chapter in the Million Dollar Alliance's history. I've built empires from nothing, and now, it's time to add the TV Championship to my collection. Banker, you may hold the title now, but everyone knows that it belongs in the hands of someone with true wealth and power."

Ruth Heartless: "That's right, Sterling. The Banker has been riding on borrowed time. Tonight, the TV Championship will be around the waist of a real tycoon. No more playing games, Banker. It’s time for a true investment in greatness."

The Banker: smirking "You think you can just buy your way to the top, Sterling? This title isn't for sale. It’s earned through blood, sweat, and tears. Something I doubt you know anything about."

Sterling: "Oh, I know plenty about earning, Banker. And tonight, you’ll see just how far money and brains can take you. This title is just another asset waiting to be acquired."

Ruth: "Banker, consider this a hostile takeover. Sterling will show the world why he’s the true champion. Prepare to be outclassed in every way possible."

Mike 'the Voice' Johnson: "Sterling trying to gain control early with the Million Dollar Dream, but The Banker isn’t having any of it."

The Banker attempts a move, but Sterling counteracts it effectively, showing the crowd that he's not just a rich tycoon; he's got some wrestling skills too.

Johnny 'the Hammer' Harris: "Sterling's showing he’s not just a rich tycoon; he’s got some moves in that ring."

Johnny 'the Hammer' Harris: "Sterling with that Neckbreaker, but The Banker keeps coming back with those Facelocks. This is intense!"

The match reaches a fever pitch as The Banker locks in another ATM Fee Armbar. Ruth Heartless attempts to provide some "assistance" with The Banker's briefcase, but it’s not enough to turn the tide.

Hello wrestling fans and welcome back to another installment of the HCW Wrestling Newsletter.  Tonight is sporting a solid line up with representation from the Dark Dominion with Negropolis and Selena Blackfang in singles action as well as the Morninstar (aka Hell’s Fang) defends his Hardcore title.  New Sicilian member Dirty Dick Albano will be in singles action.  Also on the card, we’ll see The Alaskan Wildman Jax Brenner, Apollo Gyze and more so let’s get this action going.

Match #1: Dirty Dick Albano w/ Pierre Boulay vs Bishop Ripley.

Bishop Ripley makes his way down to the first to a small pop from the crowd.  He gets into the ring but before he can get the crowd psyched up, the music changes and out comes one half of the New Sicilians – Dirty Dick Albano and his manager Pierre Boulay.  The fans are very vocal about him and he flips them off as he heads to the ring.  Pierre sneers at the booing fans.  Dick enters the ring and immediately attacks Bishop starting this one off.  Bishop hits a German Suplex but Dick counters with a side headlock and then a thumb to the eye.  Bishop hits a back heel kick and then Pierre smashes Bishop with a chair.  Dick immediately goes for a pin but Ripley kicks out at 2.  Dick hits a running knee strike but Bishop nails the Chest Burst Smash and goes for the pin but Dick immediately grabs the rope and pulls himself out.  Dick rolls back in and drags Bishop to the corner and hits mounted punches.  Bishop knocks him off and hits another Chest Burst Smash but is unable to go for the pin.   Bishop is to his feet first and attempts a Jumping knee drop but Dick moves and kicks Bishop in the ribs.  Bishop is on the ground.  Dick nails a knee drop to the throat and goes for the pin and with a hook of the tights, he gets the 1-2-3.   Dick and Pierre celebrate as the fans booing intensifies.  They finally leave.  Bishop makes his way to the back under his own power.

The room is dimly lit, shadows dancing on the walls from flickering overhead lights. The manager of the Million Dollar Alliance Ruth Heartless enters, her stage outfit making her appear larger than life. Max McGillicutty sits at a grand wooden desk, cluttered with old papers, mysterious artifacts, and a half-empty bottle of expensive scotch. He looks up, a sly smile playing at the corners of his mouth.

Max McGillicutty: "Ruth, glad you could make it. Have a seat."

Ruth hesitates, then sits in the old leather chair opposite Max. The air is thick with tension and unspoken words.

Ruth Heartless: "I got your message. What's this all about?"

Max leans back, fingers steepled.

Max McGillicutty: "I have a proposition for you. One that could change everything."

He slides a piece of paper across the desk toward Ruth. She picks it up, eyes widening as she reads the contents. She quickly masks her initial surprise with a knowing smile.

Ruth Heartless: "This is quite an offer, Max. But why me?"

Max leans forward, eyes narrowing.

Max McGillicutty: "Because your team has potential. And YOU are willing to take risks."

Ruth leans back, her smile turning slightly predatory.

Ruth Heartless: "Or maybe because you think I can help you with something you can't handle yourself."

Max's smile falters for a fraction of a second. Ruth continues.

Ruth Heartless: "You need me, Max. And you know it. So let's cut the pretense and talk specifics."

Max regains his composure, his eyes narrowing slightly.

Max McGillicutty: "Alright, Ruth. You're right. I do need you. And if you play your part, this could benefit both of us immensely."

Ruth’s smile widens, now more calculating than ever.

Ruth Heartless: "I thought so. You've got yourself a deal."

She takes the pen from Max's desk and signs the paper with a flourish. As she stands to leave, the camera catches a glimpse of a shadowy figure lurking in the corner of the room—Count Vlad. His eyes gleam with approval.

As Ruth exits the room, she clutches the paper triumphantly and heads towards the dressing room, the audience completely unaware of the dark machinations at play.

The camera lingers on Vlad, who steps forward into the light, a sinister smile on his face.

Count Vlad: "Everything is proceeding as planned."

The scene fades out, leaving viewers intrigued and anxious about the unfolding conspiracy.

The arena is electric with excitement as the camera cuts to the crowd, where “Bad Luck Brian” is seen holding a sign that reads, “I’m Back!” The fans around him erupt in cheers, immediately recognizing the dedicated fan.

Mike ‘the Voice’ Johnson: “Folks, look who’s back in the arena! It’s ‘Bad Luck Brian’! This true-hearted fan has had more run-ins with misfortune at these events than anyone I’ve ever seen! You gotta admire his spirit, though. His dedication to HCW keeps him coming back for more!”

Johnny ‘the Hammer’ Harris: “You’re right Mike.  For a reminder to our fans, Bad Luck Brian was a fan who had some unfortunate things happen to him.  It started with him getting a seat at our venue which ended up behind a pole.  Next, during the Jax Brenner/Mr. X match, Jax speared Mr. X through the barrier and took Brian out in the process.  When he recovered, Brian was at the ramp and when the Rich Athlete went to chop Billy Robbins, Billy moved and the Rich Athlete CHOPPED Brian instead.  The Rich Athlete just responded with “WOOO” (what a jerk).

Mike ‘the Voice’ Johnson:  Brian is courageous.  He is the epitome of a wrestling fan.

The lights dim, and a powerful beat starts to pulse through the arena. "APOLLO GYZE DON'T APOLOGIZE" blares through the speakers as Apollo Gyze strides out onto the stage, dripping with arrogance. The crowd’s reaction is a deafening chorus of boos.

As he makes his way down the ramp, Apollo starts mouthing off to the fans, his sneering comments only fueling their animosity. The camera catches him shouting at a group of fans, gesturing aggressively.

The camera zooms in on Brian, capturing his infectious smile. Just then, as if on cue, as Apollo was making his way down, a fan was getting mouthy with Apollo.  Apollo stole that fan’s drink and then when he went to throw it back on him, that fan moved and Brian get doused with that drink.  Brian looks surprised but laughs it off, showing he’s a good sport.

The crowd responds with a mix of sympathy and admiration, rallying behind Brian as he pats himself dry with a tissue napkin from the fan who lost their drink.  Brian’s  good-natured response to the incident only makes the audience feel for him a little more.  Fans around him pat him on the back and give him a thumbs up for being such a good sport about it.

Apollo notices the commotion and laughs mockingly, adding insult to injury.  Now the rest of the arena has another reason to HATE Apollo.

Johnny ‘the Hammer’ Harris: “Look at Apollo, never one to miss an opportunity to belittle anyone.”

Mike ‘the Voice’ Johnson: “You gotta hate his guts, Johnny. The fans sure do!”

Apollo continues down the ramp, his smirk never fading, ignoring the boos and jeers, before sliding into the ring. He climbs the turnbuckle, raising his arms to the crowd, basking in the negative reactions. The message is clear: Apollo Gyze thrives on hatred and isn’t here to make friends.

Ovaltine Jackson comes out next to a loud pop from the crowd.  Ovaltine walks over to the area where Bad Luck Brian is sitting and gets his attention. He then throws him a towel.  Brian waves a thanks to Ovaltine.

Match #2:  Ovaltine Jackson vs Apollo Gyze

Ovaltine Jackson faced off against Apollo Gyze in a thrilling match, with 'Slow-Count' Sam officiating. The action was intense from the start as both wrestlers executed powerful moves—Ovaltine with his "Drink Your Ovaltine" and Apollo with his "Flying Dropkick." The crowd was on the edge of their seats as the momentum swung back and forth.

Johnny ‘the Hammer’ Harris: “Look at the agility of Apollo Gyze! That Flying Dropkick was something else!”

Ovaltine tried to keep the upper hand with his "Oscar Sitout Rear Mat Slam" and "Diving Hurricanrana," but Apollo responded with ferocity, delivering moves like his "Spin-Out Powerbomb" and "Running Big Boot to Chest." Several pin attempts were made, but both wrestlers showed incredible resilience, kicking out each time.

Mike ‘the Voice’ Johnson: “Ovaltine Jackson is putting up one heck of a fight. You can never count this guy out!”

In the final moments of the match, Apollo executed a devastating "Suicide Dive to the Floor," sending Ovaltine crashing outside the ring. Despite Ovaltine's efforts to re-enter, 'Slow-Count' Sam’s count reached 10, resulting in a count-out victory for Apollo Gyze.

Johnny ‘the Hammer’ Harris: “That’s it! Apollo Gyze with the win, but what a battle it was!”

Apollo gloats in front of the fans with his win and they respond with the loudest booing we’ve heard in quite some time.  He leaves the ring and joyfully flips off the fans as he makes his way to the back.  Ovaltine makes it up and limps to the back to a nice pop from the crowd.

Match #3:  Selena ‘Widows Fang’ Blackfang w/Count Vlad vs Phoenix Blaze

Phoenix Blaze made her entrance first, receiving cheers from the crowd as her music hit. Selena 'Widow's Fang' Blackfang, accompanied by Count Vlad, followed with a sinister presence, drawing boos as the two approached the ring.

From the start, Selena took control, reversing Phoenix's opening Three Kick Combo and gaining momentum with a series of suplexes. Despite Phoenix’s resilience and attempts to counter, Selena capitalized on every opportunity, including a distraction from Count Vlad that allowed her to maintain dominance.

Mike ‘The Voice’  Johnson: "Phoenix is getting overwhelmed by Selena's relentless offense, Johnny!"

Johnny ‘The Hammer’ Harris: "That's what the Dark Dominion does, Mike. Count Vlad has her focused, and Phoenix is in serious trouble."

Selena hit a Snap Suplex and Fallaway Slam, but Phoenix fought back with a powerful Eclipse and several suplexes of her own, bringing the match into a back-and-forth slugfest. The crowd erupted as Phoenix tried to lock in the Hussy Lock and attempted a pin after hitting a Falcon Arrow, but Selena kicked out.

As the match approached the final moments, Selena executed a brutal Cradle DDT, nearly pinning Phoenix. However, it was her final Cloverleaf submission that sealed the victory, as Phoenix had no choice but to endure the punishment until Selena transitioned into a pin for the win.

Mike ‘The Voice’  Johnson: "What a match! Phoenix fought with everything she had!"

Johnny ‘The Hammer’ Harris: "But the Widow's Fang strikes again! Selena is on another level right now!"

Selena 'Widow's Fang' Blackfang emerged victorious, leaving Phoenix Blaze defeated in the middle of the ring as Count Vlad raised her hand in triumph.

As Phoenix Blaze exits the ring, defeated and nursing her injuries, Selena "Widow's Fang" Blackfang snatches a microphone from ringside. The crowd greets her with a wave of boos, but she relishes in it, pacing the ring with a wicked grin. Count Vlad stands beside her, his eerie presence amplifying the tension.

Selena "Widow's Fang" Blackfang: "You pathetic fools cheer for weaklings like Phoenix Blaze, but look at her now! Just like all of your favorites, she’s been broken. But this was never about her—it was about sending a message to the queen of this division, your precious Ladies World Champion... Korbi Kong."

The mention of Korbi Kong draws a huge pop, but most fans booing Selena's arrogance. She laughs mockingly, raising her hand to hush the crowd.

Selena "Widow's Fang" Blackfang:  "Oh, I see the fear in your eyes. You think Korbi is untouchable? You think she can’t be stopped? Let me make one thing very clear: at Zero Hour, I’m going to strip that myth away. Korbi Kong isn’t a champion. She’s a beast, a brute, and nothing more."

The crowd boos louder, and Selena sneers, looking into the hard camera with contempt.

Selena "Widow's Fang" Blackfang: "Korbi, I’m not like the others who cower in your shadow. I am the Widow’s Fang, and I don’t break… I destroy. At Zero Hour, I’m coming for your title, and I’ll tear that gold from your cold, lifeless hands. You think you're unstoppable? I’ll show you just how weak you really are."

Count Vlad steps forward, his voice calm yet dripping with menace.

Count Vlad:  "Korbi Kong, your reign of domination is nothing but an illusion. Selena Blackfang will expose you for the mindless automaton you are. At Zero Hour, she will dismantle you piece by piece until there is nothing left but shattered pride. And the Dark Dominion will reign supreme."

The boos intensify, but Selena stands tall, completely unfazed. She leans into the mic one last time, her voice filled with venom.

Selena "Widow's Fang" Blackfang:  "Korbi, you won’t survive me. You won’t even see me coming. At Zero Hour, your time runs out."

Selena drops the mic with a sneer as the crowd showers her with disdain. Count Vlad raises her arm as they exit, leaving a bitter taste in the arena as the challenge to Korbi Kong hangs in the air.

Match #4:  Jax Brenner w/Molly Mason vs  Negropolis (Mr. X attacks Jax)

Negropolis makes his way out first without Count Vlad at his side.  The fans boo him relentlessly but he mostly ignores them.  The music changed and out comes the Alaskan Wildman Jax Brenner and his manager Molly Mason to a solid pop from this crowd.  Jax power walks to the ring and climbs in stepping over the top rope.

The match between Jax Brenner and Negropolis started with high energy, as Negropolis quickly tossed Brenner out of the ring, putting the "Alaskan Wildman" on the defensive. Brenner managed to get back into the ring just in time, but Negropolis kept up the pressure with powerful moves, including his signature Arm Whip of Doom and a devastating Thrust Kick.

Brenner, however, refused to back down. Despite the onslaught, he reversed several attempts by Negropolis and fought back with punishing knee lifts and slams. At one point, Brenner even hurled Negropolis over the top rope, showing off his raw power. Both men absorbed heavy punishment, but neither would stay down.

Johnny ‘the Hammer’ Harris: “This match has been a back-and-forth slugfest from the opening bell! Since the start, we saw Negropolis waste no time, sending Jax Brenner flying out of the ring! Jax barely made it back in before the count of eight.”

As the match progressed, it was a brutal back-and-forth affair, with both wrestlers refusing to give an inch. Negropolis executed moves like the Black Doom and Doom Bomb, while Brenner retaliated with his crushing Sasquatch Squeeze and a series of body slams.

Molly Mason executes a Encourage wrestler from ringsteps which drew renewed focus from the Alaskan Wildman.  In the final moments, Brenner hit his devastating Pickaxe finisher, leaving Negropolis stunned.

Mike ‘the Voice’ Johnson: "What a move by Brenner!"

Brenner went for the pin, and the referee counted.

Johnny ‘the Hammer’ Harris: "He got him! He got him!"

Mike ‘the Voice’ Johnson: "Jax Brenner with the victory after a wild, hard-fought battle!"

The bell rings, signaling Jax Brenner's victory. He raises his arms triumphantly, soaking in the cheers from the crowd. Suddenly, the cheers turn into gasps and boos as Mr. X storms the ring, blindsiding Jax with a vicious attack.

Johnny 'the Hammer' Harris: “What the—? It’s Mr. X! Where did he come from?”

Mr. X pummels Jax with a series of brutal punches, sending him reeling into the corner. Jax, fueled by adrenaline, fights back, and the two engage in a fierce brawl, trading blows.

Mike 'the Voice' Johnson: “This is chaos! Someone needs to stop this!”

Security rushes down the ramp, desperately trying to separate the two warriors. The crowd is on their feet, the intensity in the arena reaching a fever pitch. Despite security's efforts, Jax and Mr. X continue to break free, lunging at each other repeatedly.

Johnny 'the Hammer' Harris: “They can’t keep these two apart! This is pure mayhem!”

Finally, after a strenuous effort, security manages to pull them apart, dragging Mr. X away while Jax is held back in the ring, still seething with rage. The tension is palpable, and it’s clear this feud is far from over.

Mike 'the Voice' Johnson: “This isn’t the end, Johnny. Not by a long shot. This rivalry is just heating up!”

The segment closes with Jax glaring at Mr. X, who smirks back defiantly as he’s escorted out of the arena. The crowd is left buzzing with anticipation for what’s to come next in HCW.
