Hello fans and welcome back to another installment of the HCW Wrestling Newsletter. Normally, we stay “in our lane” with happenings in the world of our Fantasy Wrestling Organization but today’s issue is an exception. We found out that, a few days ago, the wrestler known as Bray Wyatt (as portrayed by Windham Rotunda) passed away. Bray was a very unique character and having overcome various failed gimmicks, got a Grand Slam with the Wyatt character. Tonight, the arena is silent as a video recap of the history of Bray Wyatt is shown on the Omegatron. After the video ended, the fans gave a standing ovation and the chant of “Thank you Bray” resonated throughout the arena. Just then, Wilber Townsend made his way out. He stands on the stage with a mic in hand. Wilber says that his character and entire method of portrayal has been 100% based on Bray. He says that the “new face of fear” was his inspiration and the only reason for getting into wrestling. Wilber says that Bray left us too soon but he will continue down the path that Bray carved into the world of professional wrestling and he will do the original “eater of worlds” justice. He finishes by saying that Jack Lumber has his US title and he is demanding a rematch tonight.
Wilber leaves and
is replaced by Max McGillicutty. Max
acknowledges the lack of shows and therefore, the lack of title defenses. He states that it is not the performers fault
but that of management and he says there are plans to rectify this and get HCW
back on the map. He says that while
there are champions in other organizations who are sitting at home nursing
their egos/title REIGNS, others keep the lights on. Max says there are some major changes coming
and says that tonight, every match on the card is a title match. Let’s get this show going.
Match #1: Louisville Slugfest for the Hardcore Title –
Dr. Red Fang vs Ovaltine Jackson
Dr. Red Fang came
out to defend his title against Ovaltine Jackson and it proved much harder than
expected. Ovaltine controlled the match
easily for the first 20 minutes until Fang grabbed the “Jim Cornette Tennis
Racket” and broke it over Ovaltine’s head busting him open. We join the match at the 21 minute mark.

Match #2: TV Champion Azrael w/the Ambassador vs Tobias

Prior to the match
starting, Azrael gets on the mic and mocks having defeated the Banker twice in
one night. He says that with such an
embarrassing loss, the Banker will never get another title shot as long as he
holds the title. The match began with
Azrael in charge but then the Banker’s image kept showing up on the Omegatron and
Azrael got distracted. This went on for
the first 10 minutes of the match and it was clear that the Banker has gotten
under Azrael’s skin. We join the match
at the 11 min mark.

Ambassador was on the outside screaming at the ref. The Banker quickly hid in the crowd.

two of them. The Banker left and Tobias

Match #3: Six Man Tag Team Championship –
Dennis/Casper/Phantom Frank vs the Muscles Trio
The Muscles Trio
schooled the champs however, they could not get the job done before the bell
rang signaling a Time Limit Draw. The
Champs retain.
Match #4: The Regulators vs the Smashers
This was another
match dominated by the challengers but the Regulators were able to score the
win and retain the titles after Mammoth hit Smasher #2 with the Regulator
Smash. The Regulators did not look like
the dominating team they were during the tournament. 18 min.
Match #5: US Title rematch: Jack Lumber vs Wilber Townsend
Jack won the US
title in spectacular fashion at the Critical Mass PPV. Now, Wilber has waited months and finally
gets his rematch. Wilber says he is going to channel his “inner Bray” and
demands the rules be changed to a “Stretcher match” rules match (the loser goes
out on a stretcher). Jack agrees.

long and then attacks Jack from behind.
He slams Jack’s head into the steel post and then puts Jack on the
stretcher. He pushes it up the ramp and
then, SHOVES IT RIGHT OFF THE STAGE CRASHING TO THE FLOOR BELOW! Holy Sh!t chants ring out and medics rush out
to check on everyone’s favorite lumberjack.
Wilber stands on the stage and begins laughing maniacally as the lights
go down until a single lantern is left illuminating a single spot on the stage.
Match #6: Ladies Title Match: Korbi Kong vs Goldie Locks
Goldie earned this
spot and wants her time to shine. The
match was pretty much even throughout the entire match. In the final minute, Goldie hit a one handed
bulldog but as she tried to go for the pin, Korbi got her leg on the bottom
rope just as the bell rang bringing this one to a draw. After the match, Korbi and Goldie shook hands
and made their way separately to the back.
Update on Jack
Lumber: he sustained some cuts and
bruises but he will be ok. I’m sure
there will be another match between the two.
Match #7: World Title match: Starbuck Steel vs the Wicked Prophet in a
rematch for the belt.
