Hello Wrestling fans and welcome back to another installment of the HCW Wrestling Newsletter. Tonight, we bring you LIVE from Columbia, SC, Day 2 of our Critical Mass PPV. Tonight, the Hardcore and World Titles will be defended. Maximillian Redbeard has stated that he wants the rules to be Steel City Street Fight (renamed Cola City Street Fight for Columbia) in his challenge for the Hardcore title. Starbuck Steel says he dedicates his match tonight to his brother Buzz (Jeff Meyers) who passed away earlier this year. Starbuck says that he knows this will be one of the toughest matches in his career and hopes to do his brother proud as he cashes in the contract tonight.
Apollo Gyze is
backstage and says that Biceps to him, is the thorn in the paw of the
lion. He says he will pluck that thorn
and be rid of Biceps forever. He is just
then informed that the rules of the match had changed. Instead of it being a Falls Count Anywhere
match, it will now be a Japanese Death Match.
Apollo’s eyes go wide and he goes white as a ghost. He gulps visibly and walks off like his world
has just ended.
Pyro goes off and
our event kicks off. GM Max McGillicutty
comes out to thank the sold out crowd for attending and also thanks those
watching from home. He says that the
World title tribute match will be our main event for the evening which
generated a nice pop from the crowd. He
adds that he doesn’t want to waste any time jibber jabbering so he’ll let the
show get started.
Our first match of
the night has Noah Murphy vs Joe ‘Jack Hammer’ Sanders. The match was practically even for the first
10 minutes of the match but then Noah took control after Joe missed a running
shoulder block and hit the steel post.

that after she defeats the powerful Samoan Sarona Reiher, she WILL set her
sights on regaining the Ladies title…even if it means she has to meet her
bestie in the ring again – Korbi Kong.

Maximillian Redbeard comes out to a nice pop from the crowd. He makes his way to the ring and steps over
the top rope to enter. He begins to
loosen up while waiting for his opponent which isn’t very long. The loud speakers blare out “VAMPIRE LUNGES
FOR EVERYBODY” and out comes the Ambassador and the Hardcore Champion Dr. Red
Fang. The evil Vampire Bot is not happy

the mat and the fans pop the loudest of the night. She removes the harness and motions to Sarona
to “bring it”. Sarona walks over to the

The World Champion
the Wicked Prophet is backstage. He says
it’s a shame that Starbuck lost his brother but that does not make him a better
wrestler. Prophet says he’s beaten the
likes of Jack Lumber and others to include Buzz Steel and he is at the top of
the food chain. The fans booing is loud
backstage…we can only image how loud it is in the arena. Prophet says that he is even willing to make
the match a specialty…one that has never been before seen in HCW – the Ultimate
X Match. He will prove to Starbuck and
the world why he is the Ultimate World Champion.
Next on board is
our (also never before seen) Japanese Death Match between Biceps Bannerman and
Apollo Gyze. A quick video is shown of
Apollo costing Biceps the title contract as well as having eliminated him and
Starbuck from the tag team tournament.
This time it’s personal.
Biceps comes out
first to a great pop from the crowd. He
makes it into the ring. It is very
apparent he is there to fight and not wrestle.
The moment is ruined when the loudspeakers blare out “APOLLO GYZE DON’T
APOLOGIZE” and the fans boo the hell out of Apollo as he makes his way
out. He laughs as he flips the fans
off. He saunters down to the ring oozing
of confidence (or maybe it’s a façade and he’s really scared for his
life). He pauses at first at entering
the ring seeing the destruction and mayhem that lies before him but gets the intestinal
fortitude to continue on. The bell rings
kicking off the match as soon as both of Apollo’s feet were in the ring.

stands tall in the ring and laughs…laughs at Biceps, the fans, everyone. Apollo walks over to the tank filled with Piranha
in it and holds it over his head. He is
going to hurl it into the audience. The
refs plead with him but he sneers. Just
then, the bottom of the tank broke off and the water AND Piranha dump all over
him. The nasty fish latch on to whatever
they could and Apollo ran off screaming to the back. Biceps had to be taken to the back on a
stretcher. This was not looking good.
As the ring is
cleared of the debris, a video is shown of Starbuck challenging Jack Lumber for
the contract briefcase and winning it setting him on the path for this
match. It looks like things are ready to
go so let’s head to our main event.
For the World
Title in an Ultimate X match – no time limit.
First, out comes Starbuck Steel to a very loud pop from the crowd
(almost the same volume as Violet’s).
Starbuck makes his way out and shakes hands with the fans around the
ring and then climbs in. On one arm, he
sports an armband that reads JM and on the other, BS. He elicits the pops from the crowd and then
hands the armbands to lucky kids at ringside.
The music changes and out comes the World Champion the Wicked
Prophet. He is 100% serious and is not
taking anything lightly. The Ultimate X
match is debuting tonight for the first time ever. We wait with baited breath to see it play
out. Once Prophet got into the ring and
handed his title over, he walked over and stared Starbuck in the face. The match begins and here we go.

Starbuck Steel
gets the win and becomes the NEW WORLD CHAMPION!!! The fans explode with excitement and this
place is (figuratively) on fire.
Starbuck looks to the sky to thank his brother for being with him in
this match. Starbuck holds the title high
but then is confronted by the Wicked Prophet.
Prophet stares at him and then does the unthinkable…he extends his
hand. Starbuck immediately shakes it but
Prophet doesn’t let go. He tells
Starbuck to enjoy his night but he will be coming back for HIS title. The Wicked Prophet then leaves and allows
Starbuck to enjoy his time. The show
comes to an end with multiple wrestlers from the back coming out to
congratulate the new champion (including Jack Lumber).
That was a hell of
a way to end today’s show but we still have one more to go so stay tuned.
