Hello fans and welcome back to another episode of the HCW Wrestling Newsletter. Today’s show is considered a “Super Show” since we have hit a milestone 950 episodes. Tonight, we have more qualifying matches as well as two title matches. Dr. Red Fang will defend the Hardcore title against Noah “High Flyer” Murphy and Ladies Champion Korbi Kong defends the title against the conniving Betsy Cummings. She has to keep an eye out for the twin Felicia. The twin like to interfere when the other is wrestling to give them a leg up. First though, we start with Dennis Marshall taking on the Cerebral Stud. The Stud was heavily booed and he continuously flipped the crowd off during the match. At the 16 minute mark, Dennis catches the Stud with a double knee face breaker and makes the cover for the 3 count. The fans are happy. Dennis goes to leave and the Stud, dissatisfied with how the match ended, clipped Dennis at the knee taking him down. Dennis was writhing in pain and medics were down there pretty fast and got Dennis to the back for an examination. The Stud laughed all the way to the back.
Our next match has
Starbuck Steel and Biceps Bannerman taking on Ovaltine Jackson and Ghee
Buttersnaps. The match was pretty well
matched up and both teams were really close with Steel and Bannerman holding a
slight lead. Just as Starbuck was going
to go for the Shooting Star Buck, Apollo Gyze ran down and caused Starbuck to
fall from the top rope to the mat. No
one had seen it and Ghee went for the pin and scored the 1-2-3. (18 min)
It was an upset for sure but Starbuck and Biceps are out. Biceps got on the mick and threw out a
challenge at Apollo for once again interfering in his business. Starbuck got on the mic and announced that
with this loss, he is now officially out of the tag team scene. He tells Biceps to go rip off Apollo’s head
and shove it up Apollo’s ass.
Our next tag team
qualifier has Jake Montrose and Col. Flagg taking on Superstar Chic Monroe and
Perfect Pecs Stoddard. There was an
awful amount of cheating that went on in this match from both teams but Flagg
and the Bounty Hunter got away with more and that allowed them to secure the
win. Flagg and Jake Montrose advance.
We go to our first
title match of the evening. First, “High
Flyer” Noah Murphy comes out to a nice reaction from the crowd. Next, the music blares out “VAMPIRE LUNGES
FOR EVERYBODY” and out comes the Hardcore Champion Dr. Red Fang and his manager
the Ambassador. Fang growls and snarls
at the audience as the vampire bot walks to the ring. He gets in and we are told this will be an
‘ECW Rules’ match. For the first 11
minutes of the match, Noah had things going his way. At the 12 minute mark, Fang was handed a golf
club and he smashed Noah in the gonads with it before hitting a Vampire
Lunge. He snarled and growled at the
fans before making the cover but his delay only got him a 2 count. After that, it was all Fang. Noah managed to last another 6 minutes before
getting hit with a Transylvania Piledriver.
That was all she wrote. Fang made
the cover and got the 3 count. Dr. Red
Fang retains the Hardcore Title. The
Ambassador gave Fang back the title and the two walked to the back. Murphy, who was still suffering the effects
of the groin shot, had to be helped to the back by the referee. (18 min)
Our next tag team
qualifier match has another set of heels in it.
This one has Otto Ruthless and Talon McFrost taking on US Champion
Wilber Townsend and his nephew TNT. This
one didn’t go very long as Wilber was able to hit Talon with the Go To Sleep
and made the cover for the win at the 8 min mark.
This one was
followed up by the Smashers (who were actually the favorites to win) taking on
the Regulators. This one was another
upset victory with the Regulators getting the win. The Smashers wanted to continue with their
path of distruction but the Mule and Mammoth got the hell out of there before
any damage could befall them. (10 min)
It is now time for
our main event. First, the challenger
Betsy Cummings and her twin sister Felicia came out to massive boos from the
crowd. The ref warned Felicia that he
would not put up with any outside interference.
She said she’d promise and crossed her heart. We all know she is lying though. Next, the Ladies Champ came out and the crowd
popped the loudest for Korbi Kong. Korbi
was taken aback by the sheer volume of the cheers sent her way. She removed her title and held it high as
pyro went off around her. She made her
way to the ring and climbed the turnbuckle doing the same pose. The fans popped again. She handed her title to the ref and after a
quick warning glare sent to Felicia, the bell rang starting this one off.

Korbi wins the
match in domination fashion. It looked
like Felicia was going to get involved but then out comes Hayley Hailstorm who
rushes to the ring and clears Felicia out before turning and dropping Korbi
with a clothesline. The audience was
flabbergasted. Hayley picked up Korbi
and hit the ‘What the Hail?’ and left Korbi on the mat. Hayley took a mic and said that she was
officially challenging Korbi to a match at Critical Mass. She knows Korbi is a powerful force but so is
she and she plans on winning the Ladies title.
She drops the mic and leaves without further attack. Korbi recovers and expresses a mixture of
confusion and anger at the sneak attack.
Korbi picks up the mic and says “I’ll see you there” and then drops the
mic before grabbing her title and making her way to the back. The show comes to an end with Korbi standing
on the stage holding her title high.
