Hello fans and welcome back to another installment of the HCW Wrestling Newsletter. As we inch closer to our 3-day Critical Mass PPV, things continue to heat up. Tonight, we have more qualifier matches to see who advances in the Tag Team title tournament. Due to receiving a bye, both Ovaltine Jackson/Ghee Buttersnaps and the Snake Pit automatically advanced to the semi-finals. Fighting for those coveted open spots will be Col Flagg/Jake Montrose taking on Wilber Townsend/TNT and the Regulators taking on the Hubers. Let’s get right to the action.
Kicking off the
show is the team of Wilber & TNT vs Col. Flagg and Jake Montrose. Wilber and TNT barely controlled the match
but they lost that when Jack Lumber came out and distracted Wilber after he hit
Montrose with the GTS. Jake took
advantage of the distraction and rolled Wilber up for the 1-2-3. Col. Flagg and the Bounty Hunter advance in
the tournament. (19 min)
Next up is our TV
title match. First, Talon McFrost makes
his way out to a decent pop from the crowd.
He gets into the ring and waits for his opponent. TV Champion Azrael comes out with his manager
the Ambassador to massive booing from the fans.
He holds the title over his head and walks to the ring. He immediately attacks Talon starting this
one off. Azrael was dominating the match
until the Banker made his way out. The
Ambassador got into his face and the ref came out to break it up. The Ambassador took a swing at the Banker but
missed and hit the ref instead. The ref
immediately disqualified Azrael awarding the match, but not the title, to
Talon. Azrael was pissed. He jumped out of the ring but the Banker was
waiting for him and clocked him with the briefcase. The Banker then stood over Azrael and told
him and said he is taking the next title match at the PPV. He walked away with any other
interaction. (6 min)
Up next is our
Women’s match. First, the British
Crippler comes out to booking. Next,
Hayley Hailstorm comes out to a mixed reaction from the crowd. Hayley gets on the mic and says she only did
what she had to do in order to get the champ’s attention. This brings out Ladies Champion Korbi Kong
who goes to sit at commentary. Hayley
didn’t seem fazed at her PPV opponent watching the match; in fact, it pushed
her to be the best she could be…which she was.
Hayley gets the win at the 13 minute mark after hitting the ‘What the
Hail’. Ladies Champion Korbi Kong gets
up and enters the ring for a staredown with Hayley. The two exchange some words but then step
back, shake hands and then leave the ring.
We go to our next
match which is our next tag team qualifier.
This one is the Huber Clan represented by Butch and Ferb taking on the
Regulators Mule and Mammoth. This one
was also odd as the Hubers controlled the match but in a weird turn of events,
Mammoth caught Butch with a flying dropkick that sent him off the ring apron
and then Mule hit Ferb with a Mule Kick and rolled him up for the 1-2-3. The Regulators get the win and advance. (19 min)
Things are moving
right along and we are back into singles action. Kroman the Barbarian comes out first to a
small positive reaction from the crowd.
His opponent wastes no time and comes out as soon as “Apollo Gyze don’t
apologize” blares over the loudspeakers and the fans immediately boo. Apollo flips off the fans as he makes his way
to the ring. He gives the double bird to
one fan at ringside. Apparently, this
one fan happens to be the real-life brother of Biceps Bannerman. The match begins and although he dominated
the match, Apollo just couldn’t put Kroman down. It didn’t matter what he did. Eventually, the bell rang bringing this one
to a 20 min time limit draw. As soon as
the match was over, music hit and out ran Biceps Bannerman. Apollo almost didn’t see him coming and
barely escaped the clutches of Bannerman.
He started to leave ringside laughing when he was caught unexpectedly by
Biceps’ brother. Sheer panic came across
Apollo’s face as the Beast headed his way.
He got himself free and bolted to the back like a lightning strike. Biceps stayed and chatted with his brother
for a moment before making his own way to the back.
It’s time for our
main event. First, the Hubers come out
to booing from the crowd. They mock the
crowd until the music changes and out comes the Six Man Tag Team Champions
Phantom Frank, Casper Wyoming and Dennis Marshall to a loud pop. They make their way down to the ring.

The Hubers get the
win and become the NEW Six Man Tag Team Champions. Dennis is completely beside himself (and he’s
pissed he never got tagged in). Dennis
states that they are immediately invoking their rematch clause and it will take
place at the Critical Mass PPV. The
Hubers don’t care and walk away with the belts.
Just before the
show was getting ready to sign off, we hear there is a commotion
backstage. It looks like Biceps
Bannerman was attacked. He was bleeding
but not horribly. He told security that
it was all Apollo Gyze and that he is officially going to tear that numbnut’s
head off at Critical Mass.
We are one show
away before the fan fest and Hall of Fame Ceremony and then it’s Critical Mass
time. Stay tuned.
