Hello fans, Larry Morton Esq. here reporting live from Humble, TX; the site of the HWF elimination tournament to crown new champions.  Since everyone was already in town, we decided to just move ahead with the tournament.  All of the participants names were drawn at random and the matches were held over a 2 day period (I think we were a little off thinking this could get done in one day).   Here is how it all broke down:

This round started “no DQ” as we didn’t want anyone else advancing due to a disqualification or count out. 

The Rock def Dolph Ziggler after Dolph tapped out to the sharpshooter; Daniel Bryan came back to defeat the Big Show after Kane came out to show his support; RVD defeated Matt Hardy; Kurt Angle def Bubba.

The final four will go on to Phoenix to wrestle for the HWF Championships.  After it comes down to the final 2, the ousted #3 and 4 will wrestle to see who gets what championship.

HWF/CSWA Wrestling Newsletter 2013 - 01.6

Hi wrestling fans. Sorry about the last bit of miscommunication but Mr. Tuttle will end up as the GM for the HWF and Mr. Meyers will manage the CSWA.  Both men came to the agreement late yesterday and I forgot to pass that along.  They will continue to manage the wrestlers they drafted; just a name change.  Sorry about that.

 In this issue, we will be reporting on the continuing antics of “the Elitist” Reid Rothchild as well as publish (finally) Mr. Meyers’ interview.

I’m not quite sure what crawled up the ass of Reid Rothchild and died but he has been on a tear lately.  After the incident at the training facility, Reid once again verbally attacked Donnie B.  He was still feeling slighted because Donnie B was parked (in what he claimed) in his spot.  This time, Reid attacked Donnie B and hit him from behind (he is a coward after all) with a 5 lb dumbbell (he’s not all that strong either).  Fortunately, Donnie B wasn’t hurt too bad so I think that once matches start to get underway, Reid may be in for a world of hurt.

One other thing to note is that we also signed another newcomer by the name of Mike “the Axe” Medley.  Mike claims to have been trained by the great Larry Hennig and has modeled himself after his idol.  Mike will be drafted to the HWF.

***NEWS FLASH***

This just in…..we were able to come to terms with none other than Y2J himself, Chris Jericho.  Jericho has signed a short term deal with us with options for extensions.  We hope he will stick around as he is extremely entertaining.  Jericho will not be drafted to a particular brand so he will wrestle on both shows and will be eligible to win championships in either federation.

Not as huge of an announcement but HWF GM Wayne Tuttle has agreed to offer (it’s his funeral) a contract to the Negronomicon.  N will once again wrestle in the HWF where he caused much headache.  I hope Mr. Tuttle is able to keep him on a (figurative) leash (can’t say literal or he may want to sue me again).

Wayne also said that in addition to the Negronomicon, he is also bringing back a man who caused just as much pain and suffering during his last time here…none other than “Superstar” Billy Pearl.  Pearl had been here before as part of the Ramon “I’m a bitch” invasion.  Pearl was the leader of that NWO (not the WCW one) and caused much destruction in his wake (see the newsletter from August, 2004 for his past involvement).  When questioned about his choices, Wayne replied “I said that I was going to mix things up.  Pearl and the Negronomicon will be kept under control with the threat of jail if they get out of hand.  Donnie B may not have been able to gain control but I sure as hell will.”

Hello Wrestling Fans!

Welcome to the NEW CSWA.  That's right, the new CSWA.  Today is a new day for our sport.  We have a new direction and a new mission, and that is to bring you, our fans, the best wrestling product in the business. 

I have signed some of the best talent, from Ryback to Randy Orton.  Legends like the Undertaker and Hulk Hogan to some of today's newest stars like AJ Styles and Alberto del Rio.  Tag teams as well.  We have reinstated the "Freebird Rule" for the Shield and 3MB.  

And some of CSWAs homegrown talent is back.  The mysterious MW3. The man you love to hate, the devious Donnie B, and our newest find, the Elitist- Reid Rothchild.  

We will also be bringing back the long history of prestige with the CSWA Heavyweight Title.  The CSWA US Title.  The CSWA tag team titles and lastly, one the the most contested belts in Amy federation, defended weekly for you, the fans, the CSWA Media Title, continuing the tradition of the old Television Title, except that we will have the title defended on streaming media, as well as TV.  Matches could be featured on AppleTV, thanks to our agreement with the tech giant or could be defended on a Facebook Televised match.  But rest assured, that champion will be defending his title whenever he appears on any sort of media.  

And, in competition with our "friends" at the HWF we will have the Undisputed Title in the heavyweight division and the unified Tag Team belts defended at EVERY pay-per view show.

And for those of you who like specialty matches, we will be featuring those as well…Lumber jack, cage, Hell in a Cell and many, MANY more.  You will not only be surprised, but shocked as well.

HWF/CSWA Wrestling Newsletter 2013 - 01.5

Hello fans.  Well, our first bit of excitement comes from a trade.  Due to an imbalance in the rosters, Crimson has been traded from the CSWA to the HWF.   I guess it’s a good thing he didn't win a belt yet.

In other news, as he was pulling up to the training facility, “The Elitist” Reid Rothchild went to park his car (he claims the front spot should be his) and noticed a car parked there.  Cursing up a storm, he ended up parking diagonally in 2 handicap spots and stormed into the facility.  He was hollering at the top of his lungs “Who the $%$# parked in MY spot?”  Donnie B came over to see what all the commotion was about.  “What is the problem here?” Donnie B asked.  Reid replied “Is that your POS in MY spot?  I get the good spot, not you.  I don’t care who you are.  Go move your POS out of MY spot NOW!”  Donnie B answered “Um, you don’t have a spot and I don’t know why you think you’re entitled to anything…” Reid immediately cut him off “Entitled?  Do YOU know who I AM?  I am the Elitist Reid Rothchild.  I get what I want.  Now, go move your car or things will get ugly”.  Donnie B was shocked at the gall of this chump.  “I’ll move my car when I am done doing what I need to.” Donnie B said calmly.  Reid immediately attacked Donnie B throwing him into some lockers.  He started to stomp a mud hole in DB but other members of the roster came in to break things up.  “This isn't over!”  Reid exclaimed as he was directed to a different part of the gym.  Donnie B was heard mumbling “He’s right about one thing, this isn't over.”

This just in:  Cactus Jack has agreed to a short term contract.  He will be added to the HWF roster.  Because Cactus evens out the roster, Crimson is being moved back to the CSWA. 

It is official, our first shows will be this weekend (yes, I know we are up against the Superbowl but we need to get this moving).  There will be 3 back to back house shows starting in Humble, TX followed by Colorado Springs, CO two days later.  These two events will be the singles tournaments as well as the tag team.  HWF will go first taking place in Humble. All the matches will happen on this day (these will be day-long events) and will take it down to the final four.  Day 2 will do the same.  Two days after that, the semi finals as well as the finals and crowning the new champions will take place in none other than Phoenix, AZ. 

We did get one interview from the HWF’s GM Wayne Tuttle:

“Well, it’s taken us a while to get here but the HWF is back!  Donnie B did a great job running it for all those years but now, with me in charge, expect new and great things to happen.  We will bring action and entertainment to new heights and prove to the world why we are the best federation in the world.  I invite you to join us and partake in the ride of a lifetime. Thank you and we look forward to seeing you at ringside.”

We are eagerly awaiting GM Meyers’ interview and once we have that, things will take off.  The next post will be my last. As the owner, I, Donnie B, will relinquish the writing duties and turn them over to our roving reporters.  Larry Morton, esq. will report on the HWF while the “superman” Clarkus Kentus will report for the CSWA.  I’ve enjoyed this so far and can only expect great things to follow.

Editor's note: Wayne Tuttle and Jeff Meyers had a "gentelmen's" agreement and decided to switch federations so Wayne now manages the HWF and Meyers' manages the CSWA.  I guess this should have been communicated.  Sorry about that.

HWF/CSWA Wrestling Newsletter 2013 - 01.3

Hi fans.  Well, our one solid piece of news is that Jim Cornette really came through for us.  We were able to secure talent from ROH to bring into the HFW/CSWA family.  Jim worked with their management throughout the night pulling strings we didn’t even know were there.  We are working out the contracts as we speak so we expect to announce all of the participants before our first live show in February. 
 

In other news, both Jeff and Wayne have confirmed the return of MW3 and the Super Warrior.  I too am training for a return to the squared circle.  We have also been approached by two other individuals who have asked to join the ranks.  One of the guys named Casey put on a show but we really didn’t think he had what it takes.  Needless to say, he wasn’t all that pleased when he left and vowed that we would see him again.  Ok.  The other guy was this dude sooo full of himself, we kinda had to laugh.  We asked him to demonstrate some moves and every move he did, he stole from a previous Superstar.  He executed a Stunner, Rock Bottom, Sharpshooter, Figure Four, etc.  We asked if he had anything of his own he could show us but kept using the same specialties that Legends of the past have used.  Nothing original there but he seemed at first glance that he could talk on the mic.  We agreed to sign him to a developmental contract and he took right off to go train.  I will give him this; he looks to be a go-getter.

I’m sitting here now looking at the belts I had created for the HWF and CSWA World Heavyweight titles and reminiscing about the history of my creation.  This also got me thinking that it may be time to bring back another federation I had: The EODRF (Either Old, Dead or Retired Federation) http://eodrf.blogspot.com/.  This encompassed all those characters not included in the other federation and allows me to have classic matches such as Bruno Sammartino vs Edge and Akebono vs Bill Mulkey.  The wonderful people over at http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/prowrestlingsuperstargame/ have provided me with lots of people (including women) that I can incorporate into the game also.  The wonders of the electronic version of PWS make doing 200 person tournaments easy as pie.  I did receive feedback from one of the EODRF followers and his suggestion was to just call it ODOR (Old, Dead or Retired).  I think I will be going with that (imagine being called the World ODOR Champion). 

Both GM’s have stated that they will be issuing statements regarding their federations. Once I receive that, it shall be posted here.  As I begin my training to return as an active participant, I will begin to yield the reporting duties to two of our roving reporters Clarkus Kentus and Larry Morton.

This just in:   I received a call from none other than the Negronomicon asking if he could return to the ring.  I am torn; with our history, I don’t know if I want to deal with that headache anymore but then it dawns on me; I won’t have to.  That headache would fall to one of the two GM’s.  I will leave that for them to decide upon.   It could make for good stories; you just never know.

HWF/CSWA Wrestling Newsletter 2013 - 1.2

Hello fans. Well, I’ve been working diligently to get the administration part of the federations ironed out. The good thing is that we are now totally protected legally to prevent any lawsuits from disrupting our way of life. Further conversations that I’ve had with both GM’s are putting us in a really good place with an estimated “go live” date of Feb 1. We have all agreed that our first PPV will be “Wrestlemania” taking place in March. We have also agreed that there will most likely only be 6 PPV’s this year to allow feuds and storylines to progress and mature. As of this writing, the PPV’s we expect to have are the following: Warzone: Battlefield of Pain (pending ) Wrestlemania The Great American Bash Clash of the Champions Revenge:Day of Reckoning (pending) Starcade Championships will still be required to be defended at least once every 30 days with title matches still happening at the house shows. We know that with both Mr. Meyers and Mr. Tuttle coming into to town for the WWE’s Rumble, we will have the draft completed and then any rules and regulations on how they want their respective federations set up – to include but not be limited to cross-promotional matches. As of today, the plan is still to have each federation support 4 titles – A World title, an IC or US title, a TV/X-division title and finally a Cruiserweight/Light Heavyweight title. The World Tag Team titles will be cross-promotionally defended and the Undisputed Heavyweight Championship will still only be defended against a federations World Champion. Sgt. The HWF and CSWA are back!!!! 1.1

Hello Wrestling Fans...The Original Big Daddy Donnie B here. I know it's been awhile since I've posted anything so let me bring you up to date. After my last match with the Undertaker and retaining the Undisputed Heavyweight Championship, I got to thinking. With the help of some die-hard fans (jowsterguy for one), I think I may be ready to get back in the game. For those of you who are new to us, please check out our website at hwfcswafantasy.blogspot.com for details on our past. We were originally created back in the 1980's with matches all detailed on paper, and then moved to the electronic world in the 2000's but I've been doing this game since PWS was oringally released. Because of this, I have been able to report on the dealings and matches within the HWF (Humble Wrestling Federation) and the CSWA (Colorado Springs Wrestling Alliance). As I sit here in my room with all my championship trophies, I started to think that it was time to resurrect my long lost federation(s) and see what we can do to get these guys jobs and bring back entertainment and true wrestling the way it was meant to be done...showcase the talent, inform the public, and add a smidgen of comedy. At the end of last year, I once again reached out to some former partners/wrestlers of the HWF and CSWA - MW3 (aka Jeff Meyers) and the Super Warrior (Wayne Tuttle). We have had discussions about bringing back the federations, who and how they would be managed etc. Both Jeff and Wayne were on board (they made decent money working here) and they and I sat down to discuss the revival of the HWF and CSWA federations. Meyers of course wanted to manage his old fed - the CSWA, but I thought he would be able to lend his talents and drive to the HWF (my original baby). He agreed and the Wayner agreed to manage the CSWA. We all needed to figure out our roles going forward. I have decided to remain as owner of both federations but would have no involvement at all in the managing of either brand (see the issues with the Negronomicon for a better understanding). I agreed to become an active competitor with both Meyers and Tuttle donning the masks again to become their alter-egos. Mr Meyers and Mr Tuttle would be the GM's of their brands and their other selves would wrestle as normal. Next on the agenda is to hire talent. We went to TNA and the WWE to talk to the wrestlers about re-joining our federation (since I don't get ROH or other local venues, I don't include them in the game. In fact, they have to be on the active roster in order to be in this game). With the exception of those who have retired, almost everyone has agreed to come back and we got some new blood also. Everyone we are bringing in has asked for specific contracts (under the Negronomicon's rule, some people didn't get paid and some had to go to the street selling tickets in order to make money). All of the contracts were gathered up and now comes the hard part....who gets to go where. At the end of this month, Wayne, Jeff and I are meeting to discuss and figure out the draft (just so happens to coincide with the Rumble). I will make it a point to send out details once we are up and moving. I expect some house shows will start us off with our first PPV of the year to be the grand-daddy of them all - Wrestlemania in March. Everyone is excited to be back in our squared circle and we all feel the same. There will be some old rivalrys resurrected and some new ones created. We welcome you if you are a new follower and welcome you back if you've been with us before. I look forward to making the HWF and CSWA bigger and better than ever before. Stay Tuned.

Has wrestling become too PC?

I was reading online about 2 incidents that have happened in the WWE that I would like to address. First, JBL having to apologize to Carlos Colon, his family and the people of Puerto Rico. He made a comment like any old heel announcer would have done in the past...Jesse Ventura, Bobby Heenan, etc...and he has to apologize for it. Really? He's a bad guy for crying out loud. His job is to put over the talent and he did that for Epico and Primo. Next, Alberto Del Rio tears up a little kids sign and now he's in trouble for it? Again, a bad guy doing heelish things. Back in the 80's my brother and I went to a wrestling event in Houston. Four Horsemen vs some good guys. I ran to the rail as Flair was heading to the ring and yelled that Luger would beat him and take the World title. According to my brother, Flair turned to me and said "Shut your mouth you f@cking f@ggot". My response after stuttering was "uh, same to you". Insulted by one of the best. Did I run and cry about it? (not sure what my brother would say but most likely not). WWE states their shows are entertainment. I can't believe people are so PC that they don't see this. With the exception of the occasional fan taking it to the extreme (It's still real to me dammit), I would like to think we've grown beyond it...or maybe not. I've been chatting with the guy who created (established?) the electronic version of the PWS game and I may be closer to starting up the game again. If I can find the time, I think I may finally be ready to start up again. If John can make an online version work, Jeff and Wayne may finally be able to help me again.

Oh what the heck

I decided to sit down and do one more match...I said I would give the Undertaker one final shot at the Undisputed Heavyweight title but this would have to be contained within the confines of a steel cage. To make it all fair and square, Donnie B brought in the most honest ref on the planet - "Honest Abe". Abe stated that he would call this right down the middle - he cannot be swayed. Undertaker tried to get in Abe's face right off the bat but ended up backing down.

Both men are in the ring and the bell sounds. "The Original Big Daddy" Donnie B takes on the Undertaker for the Undisputed Heavyweight Championship. Taker immediately starts off by throwing Donnie B into the cage. Donnie B bounces right off. Donnie B gets Undertaker up for a Superplex but Taker tosses DB into the cage again. Taker picks up Donnie B and throws him into the cage again and now DB is bleeding. Donnie B manages an eye rake and Taker, yep you guessed it, throws DB into the cage. The blood is flowing a bit more faster now. Donnie B fights back and hits Undertaker with another Superplex. Donnie B follows it up with a flying dropkick and Taker goes flying into Abe knocking him out. Donnie B finds a chair and nails Undertaker with hit. He too is now bleeding. DB follows it up with another chair shot but Taker starts to shrug it off and nails a clothesline. Taker then picks up DB and drops him onto the corner turnbuckle. Abe is getting up now. Taker tries for another clothesline but it is reversed and DB nails another flying dropkick. Undertaker up and nails the Last Ride. He makes the cover but Donnie B kicks out at 2. DB reverses a suplex attempt and nails the Lights out Brainbuster for a 1 count. Taker hits another Last Ride but is unable to make the cover. Donnie B hits Taker with a chair but then grinds DB's face into the cage blinding him. Undertaker hits the Last Ride again but only gets a 2 count. Taker goes for a throat lift but DB manages to reverse it, knock Taker down, climb to the top of the turnbuckle and deliver a flying double loaded elbow to the groin. He goes for a pin attempt but Taker kicks out at 2. Taker goes for the throat coke but Donnie B nails a neckbreaker. He makes the cover and is able to get the 1-2-3. Now it is a race to see if he can get out of the cage in one piece. Undertaker follows him up and both trade some blows. DB slams Taker's head into the top of the cage and UT falls back to the mat. Donnie B goes over the top of cage and drops to the floor. Donnie B retains the Undisputed Heavyweight Championship. Holy Cow. What a match.

Year end review 2011

As I sit here contemplating whether or not to do bring back the wrestling game, I still have not decided on exactly what I'd want to accomplish with this going forward. I'm sitting back drinking a Mike's found through Yahoo Groups a group of people who do their own federations and even some cross-promoting. I was able to find some new wrestlers but still haven't paid that much attention to the current product so I may be missing some. I think I will do a tournament and even have some old and familiar faces resurface. Only time will tell if I can follow through on this.

I got a call the other day from the former "Super Warrior" Wayne Tuttle. He was trying to get the CSWA and HWF back on its feet. I spoke about time, dedication and money (someone's got to pay these guys). He told me that after I closed up shop back in 2010, he invested his money wisely and would not be opposed to taking over the CSWA ship as its owner and GM. I told him I would give it some thought.

As fate would have it, "MW3" Jeff Meyers then dropped me a line and basically said the same thing. "You know, I think with all the money I've made over the years, I could do something to help you get this back on. What do you think?" I told him I had to think it over.

I did exactly that and then went back to both SW and MW3. "I tell you what, I would allow both of you to fund and manage both federations. I will retain the HWF and CSWA as my intellectual property but would not partake in managing the federations." Both men liked this idea so the plan has started to take shape.

I asked Jeff to take over as owner and GM for the HWF. He reminded me about his history with the CSWA and was hoping to take that over. I explained that he did pretty much all he could with it and it was time to take on a new challenge with the HWF. He said he would. After a quick conversation with Wayne, he agreed to GM the CSWA.

At this point, I do ask for both Jeff and Wayne to provide to me their thoughts and plans and how they see this working out. Both said they would get back to me.

In the meantime, I am considering a new tournament. Not sure exactly what will be the payout to the wrestlers would be but I am sure we will work something out. Maybe Donnie B will come out of retirement and put that Undisputed Heavyweight Championship on the line....Nah. But he may consider it if the person who wins is the man he took it from...The Undertaker.

Thoughts and more thoughts

Well, I'm sitting here re-reading stuff I've posted and am getting to thinking that a tournament may be forthcoming. I have to decide if I want to really do this and also see if I can do this on my HP Touchpad. Thinking about it. Waiting for the writing bug to bite me again.

Random thoughts

I'm sitting around thinking that I haven't watched wrestling lately because the show just wasn't worth watching. Then all of a sudden, the whole CM Punk thing goes off the charts. People will criticize me for this next comment but this just takes me back to the WWE Attitude Era and the one and only Stone Cold Steve Austin. He said what he wanted and didn't give a care to what anyone thought. I read the results weekly just in case I get the writing bug and want to jump back into this (as of now, still not ready yet). Punk has the same "IT" going for him that Austin and the Rock had back in the day.

Rock vs John Cena at Wrestlemania next year: I sure hope the title isn't on the line unless Rocky can make the commitment to come back to the square circle full time. This has the potential to be something great but the Rock should not win (if the title is on the line) as there would be no point. Just like letting Punk win the title and then (supposedly) leave the WWE with the title in tow.

Austin and one more match? If he has it at a Wrestlemania, I think I'd drop the $60 to get it. He was/is one of a kind.

There is also talk about next year's HOF. I read that someone asked good ol JR if he thought Chris Benoit would ever be inducted and in his opinion, it was no. Benoit's legacy (and an awesome one at that) was decimated by his final acts on this earth. For what was accomplished in the ring, does he deserve to be inducted? Hell Yes. Is the WWE (and current head honcho HHH) willing to take a risk to do this? Probably not. In all sports, there are HOF'ers that have done some horrible things (OJ) and was he kicked out of the Football HOF? I don't follow football enough to know for sure but somehow I doubt it. Time heals all wounds but will the one Benoit left behind ever fully heal?

More Recap of 2003

Hi there. As we continue with th news from 2003, September finally rolls around. Donnie B ends up putting Mr. Tuttle as the GM of ECW and Mr. Graham as the GM of WCW but left Mr. Meyers with some creative control over a few of the characters. Mr. Tuttle, thinking he bit off more than he could chew, brought in Jim Cornette as a co-GM to help with the daily running of the organization.
September also saw Sting hang up his boots (for the first of many retirements). His replacement is brought in and we see Bill Goldberg step up to the plate to fill the vacancy. Donnie B then shocks the world with the announcement of a new GM for the WWF…it was none other than STING!

The next PPV, First Blood, would encompass matches from all three federations but would also be extended to have “blast from the past” matches. Prior to event time, the following matches were made:

Road Warriors vs Sheik and Volkoff
Nikita Koloff vs Vader
Lex Luger vs Ken Shamrock
Rick Steiner vs Ricky Steamboat with special guest referee Magnum TA.

Just prior to the event beginning, we were told Nikita wouldn’t be able to make it in for the show so he was replaced by Ted Dibiasi. Additional matches were added which included King Kong Bundy vs. Rick Martel; Randy Savage vs. Dean Malenko; and DDP vs Abdullah the butcher in a barbwire steel cage.

The ECW IC title ended up being vacated so a mini tourny was held to see who would wrestle for that belt. After a hard fought battle, Undertaker ends up defeating HHH to win the coveted championship. Kane successfully defended his ECW World title against Bubba Ray Dudley. Brock Lesnar retained the WWF IC title against Farooq after Randy Orton was laid out prior to match time. The Hurricane defeats Rey Mysterio to win the WCW Cruiserweight title but Rey wins it back immediately after outside interference from Hurricane’s sidekick Rosey. Rosey turned on the Hurricane to help Mysterio. After a brief hiatus from the ring, the returning Edge defeats the Big Show. Angle retains the WWF world title against Brock Lesnar after Lesnar is DQ’d for attacking the ref (in a cage). Sting came out and called the decision. RVD defeated Ric Flair. Shiek and Volkoff are victorious over the LOD. WCW World champ Chris Benoit barely retained his title after a time limit draw against the Rock. Vader defeated Dibiasi in a very bad match. Lance Storm retains his title against the Super Warrior after SW got counted out. Luger walked out of his match against Ken Shamrock after chants of “You killed Liz” made him distraught. Rick Steiner and Ricky Steamboat was up next. After Steamboat was steamrolling his opponent, the lights go out and when they come back on, we see Magnum knocked out. Standing in the ring is Randy Savage and he viciously attacks Steamboat with the ringside bell. Magnum wakes up just in time to see Steiner superplex Ricky from the top rope and makes the count. Randy Savage defeats Dean Malenko but is attacked by Steamboat running in from the crowd. Steamboat got a bit of revenge before 8 refs hit the ring to break up the action. Tajiri defeated Chris Nowinski. Nash defeats Bradshaw via countout. Batista got to wrestle Stone Cold Steve Austin and found out what it felt like to be on the receiving end of a stunner. Austin gets the win and becomes the new WCW US champ. John Cena defeated Eddie Guerrero to retain the TV title.

The next match was the culmination of almost a year of hassle. At the beginning of the year, Undertaker and MW3 had a match which saw the Undertaker get injured. MW3 cut some great promos that included taking potshots at some of Undertaker’s famous sayings (This is MY yard). MW3 came back with “I just CRAPPED in your yard”. This went on for months. Each time the Undertaker came back, he and MW3 would wrestle and Taker would get injured AGAIN…and AGAIN…and AGAIN. Finally, at this PPV, the two of them had it out and finally saw Undertaker get the win. After the match, he raised MW3’s hand in a great show of respect.

Scott Steiner defeated Hulk Hogan; Steamboat and Savage met in an I Quit match. Steamboat had to call it quits after Savage broke his leg at the 3 minute mark. Chris Jericho defeated the Mexorcist (this was the character of that Jackass I won’t name. DDP came out unscathed in his match against the Butcher but Abby left a bloddy mess. Benoit ends up defeating Kurt Angle after outside interference from Brock Lesnar. Kane, the Undisputed Champion looses the belt to the rabid wolverine and Benoit wins the Undisputed Title for the first time.

In October, it was decided that a talent exchange would take place within all 3 federations. Only the title holders would be exempt from the draft. We also finally get a structure in place to determine proper top contenders (in the past, I just would draw a wrestler at random and they would receive a title shot).

There was no news for all of November due to this writer being without the internet. Once December rolled around, the final ppv of the year was held. In the WWF, after winning 2 of 3 falls, Chris Jericho ends up defeating world champ Kurt Angle to become the NEW champion. ECW IC champion Undertaker takes on WCW US champion for both titles. Undertaker ends up walking out with both titles. Somewhere in all that, Benoit ended up also winning the ECW world title. Angle, who lost out to Jericho, was offered a shot at the ECW title but Benoit was able to hang on and retain that title.

When I return, we will start looking at the happenings in 2004.

Recap 2003 continued

Hi and welcome back. Picking up where I left off yesterday, Kurt Angle, the WCW champion was turning and burning through his opponents until he came across Chris Benoit. Benoit took the fight to the Olympic Hero and captured the World title. Angle got a rematch but wasn’t able to win the title back. This would become the beginning of Benoit’s domination in the sport. At the Evolution PPV (the second of the year), Cena wins the TV title by defeating Eddie Guerrero and ended up shaving him bald too. MW3 and the Undertaker begin what was almost a year long feud. Booker T becomes the man-servant for Sting. Kurt Angle, who moved to the WWF in exchange for the Rock, takes the World title from Hogan. The PPV also saw a new Unified Champion crowned when the ECW world Champion Kane relieved Hogan of that title.

We then disappeared for 4 months. The reason given is that the jackass that was in charge of running ECW (in the game, not real life) filed an injunction to prevent any matches from happening. In reality, I just got so busy with life that I didn’t make time for the game. Just as that one was wrapping up, The Hawk decided he wanted control back of WCW (Jeff Meyers). He then filed an injunction (again, game related – Jeff would never have done this in “real” life) and that prevented any wrestlers under WCW from participating in any WWF angles. In both cases, Donnie B comes out on top (and why wouldn’t he – I created the darn game in its current form myself). In a shocking turn of events, the Hawk and the unmentioned jackass teamed up to take 51% of the WWF thereby forcing me out of the company. But before the ink could dry, I gave my shares to Wayne “Super Warrior” Tuttle and Anthony “Negronomicon” Graham. (editors note: Little did I know at the time that power would go to N’s head – but that’s a recap in a future update). A little wheeling and dealing on Donnie B’s part saw new lawsuits leveled against the WWF’s new leaders and not only did the Super Warrior and Negronomicon sue for misuse of their characters, so did most of the major names in all the federations. If Jackass and Meyers lost, they would be broke. Donnie B came back in with his proposal to nullify all the lawsuits, take back 52% controlling interest in all federations. Meyers and Jackass were left with 24% but little did I know (actually I did) that SW and N both had separate lawsuits against them and took their share. Eventually, Donnie B gets back everything but it was a long drawn out process.

Recap 2003

Hello. As I mentioned in my last posting, I made mention of wanting to go back and recap the history of the game - from the totally absurd to the downright funny-falling-out-of-your-seat stuff. I don't have any notes (at least nothing I can find) from anything before 2003 except for one interview that was written back in my Best Buy days (1992-1997). It most likely happened towards the end of my run there. I had typed up an interview that Dusty Rhodes gave (that I made up) when he was challenging the Undertaker. We all know that Dusty talks with a lisp so when I wrote it, Dusty referred to the Undertaker as "Telly" and everything he said (to a certain degree) rhymed with that..Telly, felly, belly, etc. I just remember that interview (if I can ever find it again) was pretty darn funny.

Jumping forward to 2003. By this time, I had already created the HWF (Humble Wrestling Federation) and with the help of Jeff Meyers and a loser who I won't bother to name anymore, split the HWF into 3 smaller federations - The WWF was run by Donnie B, WCW was run by Jeff "The Hawk" Meyers and finally ECW. The ECW chapter didn't last long as the moron who was in charge of managing that couldn't get his fat ass out off his couch long enough to do anything. Jeff and I ended up running all three groups ourselves.

Battle royals were held and in the WWF, Edge came out as the IC champ and Hulk Hogan was its World Champion. At this time, Hogan was still continuing his feud with Ric Flair.

ECW crowned 3 champions after it's battle royal - Undertaker as the TV champ, IC champ is Booker T and the World Champion is Kane.

WCW, for some reason, had the most titles - 4. Lance Storm was crowned the first TV champion, Rey Mysterio took the Cruiserweight title,Big Show walked over everyone to take the US title and Kurt Angle wins the World title.

I do believe that 2003 was the first year we had an "Undisputed Heavyweight Champion". The belt could only be won and held by a federations World Champion. The rule was made that no one would get a shot at that title unless they held one of the 3 major World titles.

Back then, we would hold matches and based on how they did in their respective matches, they would be put into a Top 10 to wrestle for one of the championships. Before this, I would just mix up the characters, pull one out at a time and that person would get a title shot. With the introduction to the online version, it (ended up) made things a lot easier to run through matches and create top 10's by having people actually earn their shot.

2003 (at least on paper) also saw the beginning of the feud that would go on for years against the Negronomicon and Donnie B. Negronomicon started off with "holding the black man down/back"; this was a play on Farooq's role in the Nation of Domination as well as the JOB squad (pin me, pay me). Negronomicon would go on to attack the WWF's GM creating a feud that would last for a generation.

At our Wrestlemania, Mr. Wrestling 3 (who would eventually become MW3) took on the Super Warrior and after putting him to sleep, he cut his hair with clippers. Donnie B lost the first of many matches to the Negronomicon in a Lights Out match. The first Undisputed champion was crowned after Hulk Hogan squeeked out a win over Kurt Angle.

The night after Wrestlemania also saw Donnie B forced into retirement at the hands of the Negronomicon. DB would have to be content with just running the show and no longer an active participant.

Raven and William Regal had some interesting behind the scenes action going on. Raven, before being let go from the company, followed Regal back to his hotel and beat him from pillar to post. It took a comedic turn when Raven, after smashing Regal's face into his dinner, used carrots for eyes and peas for a smiley face. Good stuff.

As I mentioned earlier, it didn't take long but within just a few short months (maybe it was only one month), ECW folded. The loser running it was too much of an idiot and he couldn't figure out how to do anything. The ECW talent ends up remaining where they are but will be run by Donnie B and Jeff Meyers.

All this happened in one month. By February, Donnie B was back in the game but this time as a manager. He was only allowed one pic and for whatever reason, he chose none other than...The Negronomicon. February also saw Shawn Michaels lose an "I Quit" match against his homeboy Triple H. This month also saw Donnie B purchase back WCW. He now is the owner of all 3 federations but in the case of WCW, Meyers will retain some minimal control. Billy Gunn is forced into retirement after losing a match to Eddie Guerrero. In what was supposed to be a bit of humor, on the way to the Feb PPV, some of the wrestlers wrapped Teddy Long's head in a towel and jokingly referred to him as a terrorist. After all the heightened measures from 9/11, the plane was grounded and everyone was detained.

News and fun stuff – 2011

Hey there everyone. Donnie B here breaking out the keyboard once again to jot some thoughts down and do some reminiscing. I was reading some wrestling dirt sheets the other day and noticed that the one and only ROCK is returning to the WWE. I also heard that Chris Jericho’s 2nd book has become a New York Times Best Seller. Congrats!!!

What is the point you ask? Well, it got me thinking. Do I want to start the game up again? Seeing the Rock back in the WWE has given the dying horse a good shot of adrenaline. Not sure if it was Mark Madden or someone that wrote that the Rock, on his return to the WWE, showed the wrestlers there what it means to cut a promo. Rocky back in the WWE; Steve Austin and now Trish Stratus are going to host the new Tough Enough show; Jericho and Booker T back in the wrestling scene….it all got me thinking. What if I could dedicate time to a new wrestling game? I’ve done it before but if I chose to get back into it, I would need to research and bring in new characters for the game. Sheamus was a world champion…how could I leave him out now? Daniel Bryan and Albert Del Rio…these two would be a good addition to the game but in order to create new cards for these guys, I’d have to start watching wrestling again – both TNA and WWE - to make sure all characters are updated as well as their moves. I’m not sure if I could get myself back into that. Heck, even the WWE was here in town and I easily could have gotten free tickets but I declined. Why you ask? The brands just are not interesting anymore. Do I really need to see Jeff Jarrett and Kurt Angle fight for custody of his real life children? No. That’s an easy one. See what happens when Bischoff and Hogan run the show? Rehashing old crap. I don’t need it anymore.

So you may be asking yourself, “Why come back now”? I got into re-reading some of the posts from 2010 and with the WWE’s Superbowl event Wrestlemania coming up in a few short weeks, I decided to go back and really think about what happened and how the game (Pro Wrestling Superstars) changed and evolved into what became the HWF and CSWA. I was thinking the other day about the longest reigning champion in my game. That was one I won’t forget. It was the Warlord (using the Iron Sheik card since I was too lazy to create new cards back then). He had about 120 title defenses (if the title was defended once a week, he would have held it for over 2 years). Now, I will admit that as his streak continued, I had to “pad” some of his matches; heck, even rig some so that his streak would be kept alive. Keep in mind, this was way before Goldberg. This was back in the day when Ted Dibiasi (with Maggie) took on Ric Flair much to the dismay of one Tricky Dick Murdock. I remember watching as Murdock took exception thinking he should have been the #1 contender and then promptly attacked Dibiasi and brainbusted him on the concrete. Now, back then, I’ll admit that I thought it was all real. Heck, if Pro Wrestling Illustrated said it was and even had an interview with Ted saying how he could have died, who wouldn’t have thought that? Ok, maybe those who understood the business would have known it was all planned but a gullible 15 year old kid didn’t.

I also remember hearing about the stabbing of Bruiser Brody; the deaths of the Von Erichs, Gino Hernandez, Eddie Gilbert, etc. Back then, it was really hard to separate truth from wrestling as those performers had to live their characters. When Gino Hernandez turned on Chris Adams and “blinded” him with the black liquid and then turned up dead less than a few weeks later, who wouldn’t have seen Adams as the #1 suspect in Gino’s death? I remember hearing when Mike Von Erich committed suicide.

I know it is still a very sore subject with plenty of people but I will say that Chris Benoit WAS my favorite wrestler of all time…yes, even more when I (stupidly) cheered on Hulk Hogan. Benoit was the man. Sure, he wasn’t a “Flair” or “Rock” on the mic but he had skills that spoke magic when he was in the ring. I do not condone what he did or the monster he became. I don’t know what was going on in his head and will never know. People will always condone him for being a murderer and I don’t stop them but where is the line drawn when it comes to people taking their own lives? Eddie Guerrero did drugs and even though he stopped, it did enough damage to end his life. What about all the other wrestlers who could no longer handle what life had laid out and decided to end it all? They killed themselves..in a sense, murder. I know the list is a lot more than this but what about Curt Hennig, Crash Holly, Bam Bam Bigelow, Sherri Martel and Miss Elizabeth. With that final one, I remember hearing that Lex Luger was somehow involved – brought in the drugs or something. Does killing oneself diminish the memories of what they gave to us every day of their lives? That is up to you to decide.

So, now on to the real reason I’m writing this today - I wanted to try to go back and reminisce some about matches and feuds that took place in the past (prior to 2003 when I started to put it down on paper and then save it) but I just don’t remember a whole lot. Some of the things I do remember were the Warlords World title reign; at Wrestlemania 6, when WC Hogan and IC champ UW squared off and Warrior won both titles, I was having my own Wrestlemania but had Hogan as the IC champ and Warrior as the WC. If I recall, Warrior still won but eventually Hogan took over the #1 spot. I remember that Sheik and Volkoff as well as White Ninja and Kendo Nagasaki were fantastic tag team champs. The team of Sgt Slaughter and Crusher Jerry Blackwell also dominated the scene. I made up some characters back then (Outback Elmer – a cross between Uncle Elmer and Outback Jack). Why? Who knows. My brother Mark who was the biggest Flair “mark” at the time always had Ric taking on Hogan and watching the Nature Boy come out victorious while I hollered and demanded a rematch for the “real” world champion (not the fake one who’s wrestling organization but mics under the mat to make sounds louder). Little did I know until later that all organizations did that. I even had the Mulkey Brothers in the game and they, like their flesh and blood counterparts lost every match (but one) they were in.

I have reached out to my siblings for help trying to remember what happened back in the day as my memories just aren’t what they used to be. Until I can gather more data, I’m going to fast forward to 2003 (the year I started writing and keeping “newsletters”).

But first, a little background. Starting in 2000, I was living in Colorado Springs and became roommates with Jeff “The Hawk” Meyers (aka MW3). Anytime I would go back to Houston to visit, I’d meet up with Wayne (aka Super Warrior) and we’d run through some matches. It was right around the end of 2002 when I found this guy on eBay selling custom made wrestling title belts. I decided to buy 4. I gave one to Wayne as a birthday gift (at least I think I did), had one created for the HWF World Champion, one for the CSWA World Champion and the 4th was for the winners of our (upcoming) Texas Holdem games. My thought on that last one was why bother with a ring or a bracelet when you can carry/wear a championship title on your shoulder or around your waist (this came a few years later).

It should be noted that before I had the titles created (back when I lived in Texas), we made up some crude cardboard titles – one for the world champion, one for the IC champ, the US champ, Western States Heritage Champ, and tag team titles. Not sure what happened to those but I think Mark and Steven have them stored safely away.
With new “real” titles, it was time to take the game to the next level. By this time, the characters of Donnie B, MW3, Super Warrior, Handsome G, Classy Travis Massie, the Negronomicon and others has been introduced to the game. On a side note, for those wondering where the name Negronomicon came from: Tony and his then girlfriend were watching I believe it was Army of Darkness and she mentioned the Necronomicon (book of the dead) and told Tony he should become the Negronomicon. That was all it took. As soon as Tony became involved in the game, he was the Negronomicon. My character was a cross between Mr. McMahon and well, me with more emphasis on Mr. McMahon. I tried to be the good guy but somehow always came out on the wrong end.

I’m going to stop here but when I start writing again, I’ll take us back to 2003 and recap all the happenings of that year and then the subsequent years. Who knows? If I get the writing bug and it sticks around, I may just brush off some cobwebs and have a Wrestlemania of my own…..

Wrestling Newsletter Year 5 (2010) 12.3 - Starcade 2010

Hello fans and welcome to the final PPV of the Year and final card...(for now?) - Starcade 2010.

As a recap, here is how the card appears. Due to some title holders having to wrestle multiple times, the match layout has been modified.

Rey Mysterio - challenges Undertaker for the HWF World title.
Kurt Angle and Samoa Joe - challenge MW3 and the Super Warrior for the tag team titles.
The Great Khali - challenges Mr. Kennedy for the Cruiserweight title.
Mark Henry - challenges Finley for the IC title.
Edge - challenges Christian for the US title.
The Undertaker - challenges AJ Styles for the X-division title.
Kurt Angle - challenges Rey Mysterio for the CSWA World title.
John Cena - challenges Ted Dibiasi for the TV title.
AJ Styles - challenges Big Show for the North American title.
Donnie B - challenges the Undertaker for the Undisputed Heavyweight title.

Just before the card began, HHH made his way out to the ring. HHH stated that on a night such as this, the evening would not be complete without "The Game" participating in the biggest event of the year. HHH said that all he needed was an opponent and we could kick this off. Suddenly, the music hit and out strolled the Negronomicon. N said that he agreed that he too should be part of this night's event and accepted HHH's challenge. This would be the match to start off our show.

HHH begins by hitting a Pedigree right off the bat. He made the cover but N kicked out. HHH reversed a ropes attempt by N and nailed a flying knee to the face of N. HHH went for some rapid punches but only met air as N got out of the way. HHH connected with another pedigree but got a two count. HHH followed it up with some rapid punches and N just stood there and took it in. HHH hits a knee to the gut and N is gasping for air. HHH then spit water in N's face. N gets mad and goes to the ropes but doesn't do anything except fly over the top. N landed hard and barely made it back in at 9. HHH hit another knee to the gut. Apparantly, HHH wants to punish N for all his evil-doings. He's not really trying for a pin. HHH connects with an eye gouge and N is blinded. N tries to battle back but gets another eye gouge for all his effort. N does battle back and hits a flying elbow and HHH spits more water in N's face. HHH then connects with a standing suplex. N tries for a bitch slap but HHH gets out of the way. N nails a snap suplex and goes for the pin. He gets a 2 count but that is all. HHH manages to thwart another bitch slap from N. N nails the Black Doom and HHH spits more water in his face. While down, HHH spits even more water on him. N manages a thrust kick but HHH nails an eye gouge. N goes for the Black Doom only to have it countered into a Pedigree. HHH makes the cover and gets the 1-2-3. HHH is the winner of the match. (20 min)

At the end of the match, Negronomicon stayed in the ring. “I want to thank all the fans and wrestlers who have been with me throughout my run here. Some of you hated me (and still do) and some actually cheered me on. For that, I thank you all. Now, as my final gift to you, I will show you my true face – the one under this mask that I’ve worn for years.” Negronomicon took off his mask to reveal….nothing. He was wearing makeup underneath. “Ya bunch of morons. I’m not giving you anything. Losers.” He then left the ring as the fans threw miscellaneous junk at him. There was a brief intermission as the volunteers came in and cleaned up the mess.

The second match is Mysterio challenging the Undertaker for the HWF World title. Rey begins with the 6-1-9 and manages to get a 2 count. Taker goes for a throat choke but Rey nullifies it. Taker manages to hit a choke slam. Taker nails a second choke slam and Rey hits a big head scissors. They repeat the same moves again – choke slam and head scissors. Taker nails another choke slam and Rey hits a Hurricanrana. Rey goes for some chops which Taker reverses into a throat lift. Taker then hits a huge clothesline. Taker slams Rey into the corner and Rey hits some reverse chops. Taker locks in the triangle choke but Rey somehow turns it into a Hurricanrana. Both men roll out of the ring and after a few seconds, come back in. They then have a stare down. Taker goes for the Triangle choke again but Rey turns it into a Hurricanrana. Again, both men roll out of the ring and then back in. Rey hits a spinning heel kick. Taker hits a clothesline but Rey hits a Hurricanrana and goes for the pin. He gets a 2 count before Taker powers out. Taker blocks Rey in the corner and chokes him with his boot. Taker calls for the Tombstone piledriver but Rey reverses it, nails a Hurricanrana, and the ref counts 1…2…3. Rey Mysterio is now the NEW HWF WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION. HOLY COW! (15 min)

Our third match is for the World Tag team titles. Kurt Angle and Samoa Joe come out first and then are followed by the champions MW3 and the Super Warrior. MW3 and Angle start off. Angle is quick to throw MW3 to the outside and he’s back in at 5. Angle then takes MW3 down and hooks in the Angle lock. MW3 makes it to the ropes pretty quick. The champs do a quick double team on Angle with a reverse neckbreaker from MW3 and a super powerbomb from SW. Angle hits a clothesline on SW taking him out of the ring. MW3 hits another reverse neckbreaker and Angle hits a blatant choke. The champs double team Angle again. Angle tosses MW3 out first but he is quickly back in. He then tosses Angle outside to a waiting SW. SW then nails a Super Powerbomb on the concrete (he pulled the padding up). SW then went to brawl with Joe. The ref counts Angle down and out and awards the match via countout to the champions – MW3 and the Super Warrior. (5 min)

At the end of the match, Super Warrior and MW3 stayed in the ring. “We have enjoyed our time here and we, unlike that prick Negronomicon, we actually appreciate you, the fans. Whether you booed us or loved us, you have to admit, we entertained you” the Super Warrior stated. MW3 also chimed in: “Good times or Bad, we will always have the memories associated with the business. Now, as we close this chapter of our careers and get ready to move on to others, we want to leave you with a little gift.” At this time, MW3 and Super Warrior unmasked themselves revealing Mr. Meyers as MW3 and Wayne Tuttle as the Super Warrior. “Thank you all. We will miss you” both men said into the mic. They shook hands and then left the ring with their championship titles.

After the match, Joe confronted Angle about not tagging him in calling him a glory hound. Angle then pie-faced Joe and Joe charged him and they fought until Security broke it up. Joe yelled that Angle should watch his back.

Next up is The Great Khali challenging Mr. Kennedy for the Cruiserweight title. Kennedy threw Khali out of the ring but he got back in at 7. Kennedy followed it up with a side slam. Khali battled back andh hit the chokeslam and smash. Kennedy got Khali up to the top rope and hit an inverted superplex. Kennedy hit a spike DDT which didn’t seem to affect Khali who hit the chokeslam and smash. Kennedy hits a forward Russian legsweep and Khali hit a huge bodyslam. Kennedy goes for the Green Bay Plunge but Khali reverses it into a relentless backbreaker. Kennedy does not submit. Ken hits a spike DDT and Khali tosses him into the corner. Kennedy hits another inverted superplex and Khali tosses him into the far corner. Kennedy nails a spike DDT and goes for the pin. He gets a 2 count. Kennedy calls for and connects with the Green Bay Plunge but only gets a 1 count. Khali locks in the backbreaker again but Kennedy doesn’t submit. Kennedy hits a side slam backbreaker and goes for the pin. He makes the cover and gets the 1-2-3. Kennedy is the winner of the match and retains the Cruiserweight title. (13 min)

The fifth match of the evening has Finley defending the Intercontinental Championship against Mark Henry. Henry starts off by tossing Finley to the outside but he is back in at 7. He then locks in the Celtic Knot but Henry won’t submit. Finley then hits the Celtic Cross but Henry battles back by plunging Fit into a ringpost. Finley locks in a headlock. Finley then hits Henry with the Shillelagh and Henry goes down. The ref begins to count but he’s up at 5 (a very generous 5 at that). Finley hits the Celtic Cross again and Henry nails a military press slam. Finley goes to kick Henry in the face but Henry nullifies it. Fit hits Henry again with his toy and Henry is a little slower to get up (he is up by 6). Henry nails a body avalanche but Fit tosses him to the outside. He makes it back in at 9. Fit tosses Henry out again and then bludgeons him with the Shillelagh. Henry is not getting up. Fit rolls back in and as the ref hits 10, he awards the match to Finley via countout. Finley retains the IC title. (9 min).

We are half way through our PPV and the last two matches were pretty disappointing. During the battle royals, Khali and Henry both cleaned house. This was not apparent in their respective matches.

The next match up was supposed to be Edge and Christian but Undertaker asked for his match to be moved up. The change was granted. The Undertaker, coming off a hard loss of the HWF world title, came out first followed by AJ Styles, the X-division champion. AJ begins with an armlock facebuster but Taker nails a tombstone piledriver for a 1 count. AJ was able to quickly grab the rope. AJ then hits a springboard face smash and Taker nails another tombstone piledriver. He makes the cover but AJ kicks out at 2. Taker nails a clothesline but AJ hits the Styles’ clash. He goes for the cover but only gets a 1 count. AJ nails a gutbuster but Taker tosses him to the outside. AJ is back in at 8. AJ hits Taker with a spin kick and Taker nails AJ with the urn. AJ hits a flying dropkick; Taker hits a throat choke. Aj hits a backflip kick. Taker looks pissed off now. AJ nails another spin kick and Taker hits a throat choke. AJ hits the armlock face buster and Taker tosses him to the outside. Taker takes a breather. AJ composes himself and is back in at 7. AJ locks in a reverse STF and Taker nails a chokeslam. Taker goes for a clothesline which is reversed by AJ. AJ nails a gutbuster. Both men take time for a breath. AJ hits a backflip kick and Taker hits a throat lift. Taker nails another chokeslam but AJ is up and nails the Styles’ Clash. He goes for the pin but Taker kicks out at 1. Taker slams AJ into the corner. AJ goes to the ropes and hits a running forearm smash. Taker hits another throat lift. AJ locks in another reverse STF and Taker nails another chokeslam. AJ nails another Styles’ Clash but Taker quickly clotheslines him down. Both men are down. The ref is counting and both men are slow to rise. The finally get to their feet and AJ hits a springboard face smash while Taker chokes him out. AJ hits a spin kick only to be tossed to the outside of the ring. He is quickly back in at 4. AJ goes to throw Taker out of the ring but it is reversed. Taker goes for a clothesline but that is nullified by AJ. Taker nails a clothesline but AJ tosses him to the outside. Taker is back in at 7. AJ hits a flying dropkick but Taker throws him to the outside. He then chokeslams him on the steel steps. He rolls back in beating the count. The ref counts to 10 and awards the match but NOT the title to Undertaker. (22 min)

Next up is the challenger Edge challenging his former partner and friend Christian for the US title. To make this interesting, they turned it into a boot camp match. With this stipulation, there is no DQ, CO or time limit. Both men lock up and it takes a moment for Edge to take advantage. He clotheslines Christian to the outside. C takes his time but makes it back in. Edge goes to clothesline him out again but Christian reverses it and nails a one man concerto. He makes the cover and gets a 1 count. Christian hits a falling inverted DDT and Edge grabs a loaded boot nailing the champ and potentially injuring him. Christian is told he must answer the 10 count or the match would be over. He manages to get back up at 9. Edge then clotheslines him out of the ring. C is back in at 3. Christian nails a tornado DDT and Edge hits a clothesline. Christian nails a dropkick right in Edge’s face. He makes the cover but only gets a one count. Christian nails a falling inverted DDT and Edge clotheslines him out of the ring. Edge then catches the champ with some rapid fire dropkicks. Edge continues with the rapid fire dropkicks until Christian dumps him out of the ring. Just as Edge makes it back in, Christian tosses him right out again. Edge makes it back in and tries to send Christian out of the ring again but C nullifies it. Christian hits a tornado ddt and Edge locks in a headlock. Christian hits a diving European uppercut and Edge hits a clothesline. Christian hits the European uppercut again and Edge hits more rapid dropkicks. More rapid dropkicks from Edge are met with the One Man Concerto from Christian. He makes the cover but Edge manages to kick out at 2. Christian nails a dropkick and Edge nails a ddt. He makes the cover and puts his feet on the ropes as the ref counts 1-2-3. Edge is declared the winner and the NEW US Champion. Christian tried to complain but the ref said that “anything goes” in these types of matches. Edge tried to shake Christian’s hand but the former champ was not happy. He finally gave in and shook the hand of the new champ. (16 min)

Not to be shown up, Kurt Angle came to the ring first for his match with CSWA world champion Rey Mysterio. He pointed out that the last match needs to be outdone. As the champ made his way down, Kurt asked him if he wanted to spice it up a bit. It was proposed that they do a Texas Death match. Rey agreed. This gave them no time limit and no DQ for this match. Rey starts off with a flying dropkick but it s nullified by Angle. Rey got in close and nailed some reverse chops. Rey then hit a big head scissors. Angle takes it outside and nails Rey’s head into the ringside bell (GONG!). He rolls Rey back into the ring. Rey goes flying to the ropes and connects with a Hurricanrana. Angle begins to choke Rey. Rey hits a flying dropkick and Angle dumps him out of the ring. Rey hits some reverse chops and Kurt hits a clothesline. Another dropkick from the champ but Angle manages to grab the leg and apply the ankle lock. Rey is in pain but does not tap out. Rey goes bouncing off the ropes and accidentally hits the ref. The ref is out. Angle nails a clothesline. Rey goes for the 6-1-9 but Angle pulls him down and locks in the ankle lock. Rey is tapping but there is no ref to make the call. Rey takes Angle to the outside and nails his head into the ringside bell. Angle picks up Rey and hits the Angle Slam on the floor. Rey gets up and hits some reverse chops. Angle is in pain as Rey applies more chops. Rey goes for the Hurricanrana but Angle catches him and locks in the Ankle lock. The ref gets up just as Rey makes it to the ropes. Rey is then tossed out of the ring. Rey tosses Angle out of the ring but he is back in with a 2x4. Kurt nails Rey right between the eyes. He comes back into the ring and makes the cover. The ref counts 1-2-3. Kurt Angle is the winner of the match and the NEW CSWA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION! (16 min)

After the match, while celebrating, Samoa Joe attacks Angle. Joe hits 2 muscle busters followed up with the Rear Naked Choke. It took the refs almost 2 min to get Joe off of Angle. This prompted William Regal to come out and state that a new match was being added to this card – Angle vs Joe – in a cage – for the CSWA World title. That match be the second to last match of the night. Regal then went on to say that with the exception of the Undisputed title match, no other matches would be specialty matches. This was done to protect the wrestlers.

Next, John Cena took on the man who had refused to give him a TV title shot; until now – Ted Dibiasi. Dibiasi started off by standing on Cena’s throat. Cena powered out and nailed the F-U but Ted kicked out at 2. Cena then hit a side suplex. Cena locks in a reverse chinlock before getting dumped out of the ring. He got back in at 4. Dibiasi met him with a steel chair but Cena knocked him down and nailed the 5 knuckle shuffle. Cena went for a pin but Ted kicked out. Ted stood on John’s throat and then took a stomp to the gut for that. Ted then pulled out his dad’s loaded glove and nailed John with it. He went for the cover and with a bit of tight pulling, he was able to get the 1-2-3 and retain the TV title. (6 min)

Our third to last match has AJ Styles taking on the Big Show for the North American title. Styles started off quick with a spin kick. Show then went for the big foot to face but it was reversed by Styles who went for a springboard smash but that was nullified by Show. AJ nailed Show with a spin kick and Show fell down – right on top of AJ. Show hit an eye rake and Styles hit a Styles’ Clash. Show calls for and hits the Chokeslam. He goes for the pin and AJ just didn’t have enough to kick out. Show gets the win and retains the North American Title. (5 min)

Our second to last match is being prepared as the steel cage is being set up. Joe comes out first and is followed by a pissed off Kurt Angle. Angle hits the ring quickly but is stopped by the ref since the bell hasn’t even rung yet. Finally the bell rings and Angle takes Joe down and locks in the ankle lock. Joe makes it to the ropes. Joe appears to be hurt. Angle climbs to the top of the cage and hits the B-52 kneedrop from the top of the cage. He covers Joe but only gets a 2 count. Joe gets up and hits a running clothesline. Angle is up and nails a Angle Slam. He goes for the cover but only gets a 2 count. Joe locks in a modified camel clutch but Angle makes it to the ropes. Joe pulls him off the ropes and locks it in again. The ref makes him break the hold. Angle chokes Joe blatantly but Joe sandwiches Kurt between the ropes and the cage. He makes the cover and gets the 3 count. He tries to crawl out the door but Kurt stops him. Angle gets him up and hits a running powerslam into the cage. He makes the cover and gets the 1-2-3. Now, it is a race to see who gets out of the ring first. Both men ascend the cage but at the top, they trade blows. Kurt is reeling. He reaches deep and plants one right in the Samoan’s eye. Joe falls back into the ring and lands bad on his foot. Kurt goes over the top and drops to the floor. Kurt Angle wins the match and retains the CSWA world Title. The ref goes to open the door and starts to help Joe out of the ring. Kurt is over at the door first and slams it in Joe’s face. Joe is busted open. Kurt goes back in and applies the ankle lock. Joe is tapping out, screaming in pain. Finally, he lets go and leaves the ring with his championship intact. (8 min)

In the final match of the night, the Undertaker defends the Undisputed Heavyweight championship against Donnie B. This may be the first time a non-world champion has gotten a title shot at this belt. Donnie B is out first followed by the Undertaker. After the ring is cleaned up and both men enter the ring, the bell sounds. The match begins with both men throwing each other into the cage. Within the first minute, we have blood from both men. The Undertaker nails the Last Ride and gets a 1 count. Taker then chokes out Donnie B. Donnie B is then shouldersmashed into the cage. Undertaker goes for the pin but DB kicks out a two. Undertaker then slams Donnie B into the corner but DB hits Taker with a chair. Taker hits a clothesline but DB hits a flying dropkick. Undertaker goes for the Last Ride but it is reversed and Donnie B goes for a neckbreaker. That, too, is reversed and chokes DB between the ropes and cage. Undertaker goes for a pin but only gets 2. Undertaker hits a clothesline. He starts to go for a pin but Donnie B spit on him. Taker picked him up and continued the beatdown. DB hits Taker with a chair but Undertaker hits a tombstone piledriver. Taker goes for the pin but DB kicks out at 2. Taker applies a throat choke and starts to go for the pin but pulls Donnie B up. Undertaker goes for “Old School” but DB pulls him down and Taker straddles the ropes in serious pain. He falls back into the ring and DB nails a neckbreaker. He makes the cover and gets the 1-2-3. He then starts to climb the cage and Taker goes after him. DB kicks Taker in the groin and he goes back down. DB is up and over the cage and then falls to the ground. Donnie B is declared the winner of the match and the NEW UNDISPUTED HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION. (16 min)

Donnie B took the mic: “This was a fantastic ride. We thank all the characters (real or made up) for participating in this game over the years. This game has been going in some way, shape or form for the last 25 years. At this time, we say a fond farewell to all the wrestlers and fans and again, thank you for joining us on this evolution of what began as the Pro Wrestling Superstars game and has ended up as two successful federations – the HWF and CSWA.”

Hello fans. Well, we had the tournaments as planned and we now have the winners that will be going on to face which ever champion they so choose. The winners are:

Edge
Kurt Angle
Mark Henry

The Great Khali
John Cena
The Undertaker

For the tag team titles, that tournament was won by Kurt Angle and Samoa Joe.

At this point, the only match scheduled for Starcade will be MW3 and the Super Warrior defending the Tag Team titles against Angle and Joe.

In the back, John Cena said he still had some fight left in him and wanted to get back into the ring. Donnie B walked up to him and said that he would meet him in the squared circle if Cena would put up his title shot. Cena agreed.

The match was totally controlled by Cena and Donnie B was just barely hanging on. Cena went for a 5 knuckle shuffle and Donnie B moved. DB got up and delivered a Lights Out Brainbuster in the middle of the ring. He made the cover and got the 1-2-3. Donnie B is now gets a shot at a title of his choosing. Cena still keeps his shot.

At this point, all the other wrestlers came out. They all said they made their choices. In one unified voice, they all yelled out "World title shots". They stared at each other and started to argue who would get the shot first; who yelled first; etc. Donnie B stood back and surveyed the action. Jeff Meyers and William Regal both came out and said that if each one of the wrestlers wanted a world title shot, then they would get it. The caveat is that all title holders must defend their belts. Since there are only 2 world champions, only two wrestlers would get world title shots. Mysterio, Khali, Mark Henry, Kurt Angle, Edge and Styles were all undefeated. Cena and Undertaker have the next best records. Another battle royal was held to determine the order in which a challenger chooses the title they want to go after.

Rey Mysterio - challenges Undertaker for the HWF World title.
Kurt Angle - challenges Rey Mysterio for the CSWA World title.
Mark Henry - challenges Finley for the IC title.
Edge - challenges Christian for the US title.
AJ Styles - challenges Big Show for the North American title.
John Cena - challenges Ted Dibiasi for the TV title.
The Undertaker - challenges AJ Styles for the X-division title.
The Great Khali - challenges Mr. Kennedy for the Cruiserweight title.

This left only Donnie B as the only person who had not picked a title. Since all the belts were spoken for, Regal asked Donnie B what he was going to do. Donnie B stated that there was one belt not mentioned and that was the Undisputed Championship held by the Undertaker. "Now hold on my good man. You, as well as I, know that the Undisputed title can only be defended against a World Champion." Donnie B came back with "You will notice that when the details were spelled out, we stated that the winners of the tournaments would get to choose the belt they wanted to fight for. It's not my fault that no one else thought of that. Since no one did, I capitalized on it. I will be meeting the Undertaker for the Undisputed title at Starcade." Regal and Meyers discussed it and finally agreed that the wording was indeed vague enough so with that in place now, we have our full Starcade Card.

Wrestling Newsletter Year 5 (2010) 12.1

Well fans, I know it's been 3 months but I write to you today with a heavy heart. After a week long conference between Jeff Meyers, William Regal and Donnie B, it was decided that the CSWA and HWF federations would both be coming to an end as of December 31st. This decision was not made lightly and we are very sad to see this come to an end.

It has been decided that the final PPV will be Starcade. In order to allow for all wrestlers to participate, there will be numerous mini battle royals. The winner of each battle royal will get a shot at whatever title they want - even if it's in a different federation.

AS of today, the champion standings look like this:

Mr Kennedy - Cruiserweight champ

Undertaker- HWF World Champion

There will be 10 battle royals taking place the night before the PPV. The winners will then go on to the PPV and get a shot at the belt of their choice. Stay tuned for that information.

Wrestling Newsletter Year 5 (2010) 9.2 – The Bash fallout

HHH was the first to come out and accuse Dibiasi for stealing his TV title. HHH said that he wanted a rematch right here and now. Dibiase came down and said that HHH was done. If he wants another title shot, he has to earn it. He demanded a shot but Ted was quick to point out that there are others deserving of title shots. If HHH wants another shot, he has to take on John Cena. In a quick 8 minutes, HHH gets the win after hitting Cena with a knee to the face.

A mini tournament was held to fill in the vacant spots for the US, TV and Cruiserweight shots. Those participating were John Cena (even though he just wrestled), Jeff Jarrett, Abyss, John Morrison, Elijah Burke, Rhyno, MVP and Matt Hardy.

Round one
Rhyno was first to win over Abyss after hitting the GORE.
John Morrison defeated Jeff Jarrett with a shooting star press.
Matt Hardy defeats Elijah Burke.
John Cena defeats MVP.

Round 2
John Morrison defeats Rhyno
John Cena defeats Matt Hardy

Round 3
John Cena defeats John Morrison

Cena becomes the #10 contender for the US title; John Morrson is in line for the TV title. Rhyno and Matt Hardy then duked it out to see who gets a shot at the cruiserweight title. Matt Hardy defeats Rhyno to get the final shot at the CW title.

Over in the HWF, Donnie B challenged Goldust for his title shot. In two minutes, Goldy is counted out and Donnie B is now next in line for a shot at the X-division title.

The Great Khali was next out challenging AJ Styles for his shot at the IC title. In 8 minutes, Khali gets the win via submission by the Relentless Backbreaker. Khali is now next in line.

Chris Jericho is out complaining about not getting any title shots. He in then followed out by Samoa Joe. Both men run their mouths saying they should be getting world title shots. IC Champ Fit Finley comes out and says that these two can fight it out and he would take on the winner putting his world title shot on the line. Samoa Joe ends up getting the win with a Rear Naked Choke submission. Finley comes down and nails Joe in the head with the Shillelagh. He then starts to tear into Joe and Joe just takes it. Finally, Joe tosses Finley to the outside of the ring and handcuffs him to the ringside barrier. Joe rolls back in as the ref counts to 10. Joe wins Finley’s spot in the world title shot.

Next out came the Tag Team Champs MW3 and the Super Warrior. They were accompanied by their special ref “Ravishing Randy” Mulkey. Mulkey told the fans that the next team was picked who would get the next title shot. The champs waited in anticipation (no, not really) and it was declared that Cryme Tyme was getting the next shot. The champs burst out laughing and didn’t stop until the challengers made their way to ringside. Cryme Tyme said that they would “steal” the belts and that there was nothing that could be done about it. Super Warrior then asked “How’s this for ‘Steel’?” and nailed both challengers with the steel chair. All three stood laughing while MW3 went to spit on them. Ravishing Randy kicked JTG for good measure before they all left.


The Dudleys then came out questioning why they weren’t getting the next title shot. William Regal came out and said he wondered the same thing but then there is another team equally deserving of a title shot: the team of Morrison and Hardy. Regal said that whomever won this next contest would get the title shot after Cryme Tyme.

This was by far the shortest match in a long time. It barely went 3 minutes. After getting nailed by the Starship Pain, Bubba tagged out to Devon. Devon takes an elbow shot before tagging back out to a confused Bubba. Bubba gets tossed out of the ring by John Morrison and then Hardy goes to the top rope and launches a nasty fist drop. Devon is taken out the other side of the ring. Bubba does not make it back in and the Dudley’s lose this one by countout. Hardy and Morrison are next in line.

CM Punk and Sting are out next complaining that they have never received their rematch. Regal comes back out and tells the Dudleys if they want a shot at redemption, they could take on this new team. The winner would get a shot at the tag team belts. Now this was the Dudleys we know and love. CM Punk was basically left to fight the Dudleys himself after MW3 and the Super Warrior came out and attacked Sting. Sting was dragged to the back and never surfaced. Punk did all he could but in the end was no match for the brute strength of the Dudleys.

Just before the show ended, HHH came out again. This time he was challenging the Negronomicon for his TV title shot as he wanted back at Dibiasi as soon as possible. Negronomicon stated that if HHH was so confident he was going to win, then N wanted HHH’s world title shot on the line. HHH agreed.

Negronomicon held his own against the Game. HHH would try to cut any corners he could to get the win but N just wouldn’t allow it. The end started around the 18 min mark when N got tossed out of the ring. He looked like he got hurt going over the top rope. HHH went out to help him back in. N nailed an Arm whip of Doom and HHH went sailing right into the ringpost. N rolled back into the ring to break the count and then retrieved HHH. N then nailed a snap suplex and at the 20 minute mark, he gets the pin, the win and the World title shot.

Wrestling Newsletter Year 5 (2010) 9.1 – The Great American Bash Results

Hello fans. Well, we apologize for not getting this out in time. The Great American Bash was held in Houston under the hot Texas August sun. Without further ado, here are the results.

The first match on the card had Rey Mysterio defending his CSWA world title against Rhyno. The match went 14 minutes and Rhyno was just not ready for the onslaught that Mysterio brought to the match. The merciful end came after Rey nearly took off Rhyno’s head with a spinning heel kick. Rey retains the CSWA world title.

Next up had the Undertaker defending the HWF world title against the IC champion Kurt Angle. This match only went six minutes. Undertaker was slow moving around but it was the distraction from Fit Finley which caused a match which was hyped up pretty high to not last very long. Kurt got tossed out of the ring and Finley nailed Kurt with a foreign object causing him to get counted out. The Undertaker retains the HWF world title.

Finley got on the mic and demanded his match with Kurt. Fit picked up Angle’s body and tossed it into the ring. As soon as he climbed into the ring, the bell rang starting our third match. The lack of offense from Angle was not a good sign. Kurt hit some high profile moves but Finley was just more brutal. Finley hit a top rope axehandle that looked like it knocked Angle out. Fit then locked in the Celtic Knot and the ref raised Angle’s hand three times and three times it fell. Angle is counted as out and the match and the IC title are now awarded to Fit Finley. Finley disposed of Angle’s body to the outside of the ring, posed to the jeers from the fans and then left.

The Big Show was up next defending the North American title against MW3. This one went 14 minutes and was about as lopsided as one could get. Show just beat the snot out of MW3. The end finally came when, after failing to ward off a nasty eye rake, MW3 got his shoulders pinned to the mat. Big Show retains the NA title.

In looking back at the last few IC title defenses, we notice that the Undertaker was actually the last person to successfully defend a title more than once. All of the following lost the title on their first title defense: Samoa Joe, Abyss (he did get traded though and lost the US title right away), Edge, and Kurt Angle. Will Finley successfully retain after his first title defense? Only time will tell.

Christian was up next defending the US title against Matt Hardy. Another short match (only 5 ½ minutes) ends in a countout. Hardy got tossed out of the ring and was not able to get back in before the 10 count. Christian is still the US champion.

HHH came out next to defend the TV title against Ted Dibiasi. It seems the matches are getting shorter. Not a good thing. Dibiasi goes for a brainbuster but HHH nullifies it. Ted then gives HHH a nasty eye rake. HHH then tosses Dibiasi out of the ring. Ted makes it back in at 6. HHH then spits water in the face of Ted. Dibiasi explodes nailing HHH right in the head with his dad’s loaded glove. Ted makes the cover and with some tight pulling, gets the 1..2..3. Ted Dibiasi is once again the CSWA TV champion.

MVP came out stating that he was going to be in line for the next World title shot. He said that he could defeat anyone, anywhere. This brought out the Negronomicon. N stated that if MVP could beat him here and now, he’d give up his TV title defense. If he couldn’t beat him, then N would get his World title shot. MVP agreed to the match. N started off with a flying elbow. MVP was stunned. He couldn’t believe what he was seeing. N then went for the bitch slap but MVP reversed it, tried for the Playmaker but N nullified that. MVP hits a snap over the head belly to belly. MVP hits a playmaker but N hits the Black Doom. He goes for a cover but MVP kicks out at one. MVP hits a running boot and N tosses him to the outside. MVP is back in at 6. MVP nails the Drive By but only gets a 1 count. MVP hits a snap scoop slam, goes for the pin but picks up N before a count could be made. N pulls MVP out of the ring but MVP takes control and tosses N back in early and follows. MVP went for many pin attempts but always pulled N up. Finally, N got tired of it and took MVP to the outside of the ring. He nailed a Doom Bomb onto the floor. MVP looked out cold. N rolled back in just before the 8 count and then the bell rang. N thought he won but the bell was actually signaling a time limit draw. So close.

AJ Styles came out next to defend the X-division title against Stevie Richards. AJ owned this one. Stevie got his butt handed to him but unlike the others, he opted to leave. After 12 minutes of getting his ass kicked, he left the ring and walked to the back without ever looking back. AJ retains the title on a count out win.


Next, MW3 and the Super Warrior came out to defend their tag team titles against Cody Rhodes and Jay Lethal. The match was pretty uneventful until around the 18 minute mark. MW3 went for the Superkick which Lethal reversed. Lethal then went for a axe handle smash with MW3 reversed and nailed Jay with the MW2 kneelift. MW3 makes the cover and gets the 1.2.3. MW3 and the Super warrior bail out of the ring while Cody Rhodes is in the ring arguing with the ref. Seems that the ref should have called some illegal activity and turned a blind eye. Cody then began ruffing up the ref and then MW3 and the SW attacked Rhodes. They saved the ref from any further harm. The ref thanked both of them and then went and kicked Rhodes in the face and while SW was holding Lethal, he kicked Jay where the sun don’t shine. The ref then made a mock cover with MW3 giving a fast count and then raising the ref’s hand. The three left together.

Out in the back, Clarkus Kentus, our roving reporter, met up with the trio. The ref introduced himself as a former wrestler turned ref. His name is RandyMulkey…”Ravishing Randy” to all his friends. SW told everyone that this was their ref from now on. He would be the only ref allowed to call any of their matches. MW3 looked a little worse for wear after the beating he took from the Big Show earlier. All MW3 said is that Big Show would pay for that earlier beatdown.

Donnie B challenges Santino for his spot for the X-division title. Donnie B took the fight to Santino. The former champion took 14 minutes to beat Santino for the shot at the X-division title.

The second to last match had Mr. Kennedy and his ongoing streak defending the Cruiserweight title against Jeff Jarrett. This was another short match that saw Kennedy just walk out of the ring leaving Jarrett behind. The ref counted to ten and awared the match to Jarrett but not the title. Jarrett complained but the ref just ignored him.

The final match of the night is Champion vs Champion for the Undisputed Heavyweight title. This will be the second time Mysterio and the Undertaker met for this prestigious title. Undertaker started off with attempting a Tombstone piledriver but Mysterio nullified it. Mysterio hits a spinning heel kick and Undertaker locks in the Triangle choke. Rey makes it to the ropes to break the hold. Rey hits a standing dropkick and immediately goes for a 6-1-9 but Undertaker turns it into the Last Ride. He goes for the pin but Rey puts his foot on the rope at one. Undertaker follows it up with a choke slam. A standing dropkick from Rey is met by a chokeslam from Taker. Taker gets Rey up in the Last Ride again and nails it. He goes for the pin but Rey kicks out at 2. Taker is getting ticked off so he starts to choke Rey. He goes for the pin but Rey kicks out. Taker tries to toss Rey out of the ring but Rey holds on and tries for a 6-1-9 but Taker nullifies it. Rey gets in Taker’s face and gets tossed out of the ring for his insolence. Rey makes it back in at 8. Taker tries to slam Rey in the corner but he goes up and hits a flying bodypress. Rey goes up and nails another flying bodypress taking Taker off his feet. Taker nails a choke slam but then Rey tosses him out of the ring. Taker barely makes it back in at 9. Taker catches Rey coming off the top rope and nails a chokeslam right in the middle of the ring. He makes the cover and the ref counts 1….2….3. Undertaker wins the match and is the NEW UNDISPUTED HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION. Taker poses with the belt and then Rey makes his way over. He puts out his hand and Undertaker shakes it. Both men leave to the cheering of the fans.
