The
opening shot sweeps across the Columbia Coliseum as the Voltage crowd rises to
its feet. Signs fill the stands, the camera catching several devoted to the
Women's Convergent Championship before settling on the broadcast desk.
Sam
Duffy:
"Welcome, everyone, to HCW Voltage! Sam Duffy alongside Rick Granger, and
tonight the road to Convergence officially begins for the women of Heritage
Championship Wrestling!"
Rick
Granger:
"And twenty women are about to discover something I've known for years,
Duffy. Opportunities aren't distributed equally. Some people seize them. Some
people waste them. And some people don't even get invited."
Sam
Duffy:
"Twenty women will compete tonight in the first Women's Convergent
Championship Qualifying Battle Royal. But before we get there, we've got
Cassius Onyx in action against Biceps Bannerman, Dr. Red Fang meets Cara Loco,
and in tonight's main event the Iron Syndicate defend the Heritage Tag Team
Championship against Bruiser 'Cauliflower' McPugg and Leopold Dilg!"
The
opening music interrupts the commentators.
Max
McGillicutty emerges onto the stage to a warm reception from the Columbia
crowd. The HCW General Manager acknowledges the fans before raising a
microphone.
Max
McGillicutty:
"Last Monday night, I told you how HCW is going to determine who will
represent this company in the Women's Convergent Championship."
The crowd
responds at the mention of the new championship.
Max
McGillicutty:
"Tonight, we stop talking about how we're going to do it."
Max
pauses.
Max
McGillicutty:
"Tonight, we start doing it."
Another
cheer rolls through the Coliseum.
Max
McGillicutty:
"The first qualifying Battle Royal takes place right here tonight. Twenty
women will enter that ring. The winner earns the first position in our Final
Four. The woman who finishes second earns the first position in the Wild Card
match."
Max raises
a finger.
Max
McGillicutty:
"But I want to clear up one part of the process before we begin."
Max
McGillicutty:
"These are twenty-woman Battle Royals. We currently have twenty-one
eligible non-title holders on the active women's roster. That means one
eligible woman will be randomly left out of each qualifying Battle Royal."
A few
murmurs ripple through the crowd.
Max
McGillicutty:
"The selection was made before tonight's show, and the woman who will not
participate in tonight's Battle Royal is..."
Max
pauses.
Max
McGillicutty:
"Twinkle of the Tinsel Twins."
A mixed
reaction follows.
Rick
Granger:
"See? I told you! Sometimes you don't even get invited!"
Sam
Duffy:
"That's not what Max said at all."
Max
quickly heads off any misunderstanding.
Max
McGillicutty:
"Now, that does not eliminate Twinkle from contention. She remains
eligible, and she'll be back in the field for the next qualifying Battle
Royal."
The
clarification draws a better response.
Max
McGillicutty:
"And remember—if you don't win tonight, your opportunity isn't necessarily
over. As long as you're still eligible and another qualifying Battle Royal
remains, you can step into that ring and try again."
Max looks
toward the ring.
Max
McGillicutty:
"But somebody won't need another chance."
Max
McGillicutty:
"By the end of tonight, one woman will have punched her ticket to the
Final Four."
He lowers
the microphone as the crowd cheers.
Sam
Duffy:
"And there you have it. Twenty women tonight, the first Final Four
position at stake, and the runner-up takes the first Wild Card position."
Rick
Granger:
"Which means nineteen women are going to leave disappointed."
Sam
Duffy:
"Not necessarily. As Max just reminded us, most of them can try
again."
Rick
Granger:
"Fine. Then nineteen women are going to leave disappointed tonight.
Happy?"
Sam
Duffy:
"Much."
The camera
returns to the ring as the atmosphere shifts toward the opening contest.
Sam
Duffy:
"And we're not waiting long to get started. Cassius Onyx is coming up next
against Biceps Bannerman."
Rick
Granger:
"Forget the Battle Royal for a minute, Duffy. Every singles champion in
HCW should be paying very close attention to Cassius Onyx."
Sam
Duffy:
"Because somewhere in this building tonight is a contract that gives
Cassius Onyx the right to challenge for any singles championship at any
time."
Rick
Granger:
"Exactly. And the smartest thing Cassius can do is make sure none of those
champions ever knows when he's coming."
The camera
cuts toward the entrance as Voltage prepares for Match #1: Cassius Onyx vs.
Biceps Bannerman.
The
opening notes of Biceps Bannerman's entrance music hit, drawing a warm response
from the Columbia Coliseum crowd.
Biceps Bannerman
steps through the curtain with his usual enthusiasm, stopping at the top of the
aisle to flex both arms before pointing toward the ring. He slaps a few
outstretched hands on his way down the aisle, but there's a little more purpose
in his stride tonight.
Sam
Duffy:
"Biceps Bannerman has never been short on confidence, and he's going to
need every bit of it tonight. Cassius Onyx presents a very different kind of
challenge."
Rick
Granger:
"Confidence is wonderful, Duffy. Right up until somebody better than you
gives you a reason to stop having it."
Bannerman
climbs onto the apron and steps through the ropes. He gives the crowd another
flex before moving toward his corner.
But
instead of settling in completely, Bannerman walks over to ringside and quietly
asks for a microphone.
He takes
it back to his corner without saying a word.
Sam
Duffy:
"Interesting."
Rick
Granger:
"What's Bannerman doing with a microphone?"
Sam
Duffy:
"I don't know."
Bannerman
rests the microphone against the turnbuckle and begins loosening his shoulders
as he waits.
Then the
atmosphere changes.
Cassius
Onyx's music hits.
The cheers
quickly give way to boos as Cassius emerges from behind the curtain. He pauses
on the stage, surveying the Columbia Coliseum with the self-assured expression
of a man who sees very little in front of him worth worrying about.
Cassius
starts down the aisle at his own pace.
Sam
Duffy:
"There is something else that follows Cassius Onyx everywhere he goes
these days, Rick. That contract."
Rick
Granger:
"One of the most valuable possessions in HCW."
Sam
Duffy:
"At any time, Cassius Onyx can use it to challenge for any singles
championship in Heritage Championship Wrestling."
Rick
Granger:
"Which means Dominic Marconi should be watching. Mr. X should be watching.
Jax Brenner should be watching. The Rich Athlete should be watching. Jack
Lumber should be watching. Every one of them knows Cassius can decide that
tonight is the night."
Cassius
reaches ringside and looks up at Bannerman.
Biceps
doesn't take his eyes off him.
Cassius
notices the microphone sitting against the turnbuckle.
He pauses.
A slight
smirk crosses his face.
Rick
Granger:
"Apparently Bannerman has something to say."
Sam
Duffy:
"And judging from the way he's looking at Cassius, I have a feeling we're
about to find out exactly what."
Cassius
climbs onto the apron and steps through the ropes.
The two
men stare across the ring at one another.
Cassius
motions toward the microphone and gives Bannerman an almost mocking invitation
to go ahead.
Biceps
reaches down and picks it up.
The bell
has not sounded.
Bannerman
walks toward the center of the ring.
Cassius
meets him there.
Biceps
Bannerman:
"Before we do this, Cassius... there's something I want."
Cassius
glances around the arena before looking back at him.
Biceps
Bannerman:
"Everybody keeps talking about that contract of yours. Everybody wants to
know when you're going to use it. Which championship you're going after. Which
champion you're going to surprise."
Bannerman
steps closer.
Biceps
Bannerman:
"But I've got a better question."
He points
directly at Cassius.
Biceps
Bannerman:
"Why should you be the one holding it?"
The crowd
reacts.
Cassius's
smirk begins to disappear.
Sam
Duffy:
"Wait a minute."
Biceps
Bannerman:
"You want to prove you're as good as you tell everybody you are?"
Bannerman
holds his arms out.
Biceps
Bannerman:
"Put the contract on the line."
The
Columbia Coliseum erupts.
Cassius
stares at Bannerman.
Sam
Duffy:
"Are you kidding me?!"
Rick
Granger:
"Bannerman has lost his mind!"
Biceps
Bannerman:
"You beat me, you walk out of here with exactly what you walked in
with."
Bannerman
points to himself.
Biceps
Bannerman:
"But if I beat you..."
He pauses
as the crowd grows louder.
Biceps
Bannerman:
"...that contract comes home with me."
Cassius
slowly looks around the arena.
The crowd
begins urging him to accept.
Cassius
steps toward Bannerman and reaches for the microphone.
Biceps
hands it over.
Cassius
studies him for another moment.
Then he
laughs.
Cassius
Onyx:
"You?"
Cassius
shakes his head.
Cassius
Onyx:
"You actually believe that you can take my contract?"
Bannerman
nods.
Cassius's
amusement fades into something colder.
Cassius
Onyx:
"Then I'll enjoy watching you discover just how badly you've overestimated
yourself."
Cassius
gets almost nose-to-nose with him.
Cassius
Onyx:
"You want it?"
Cassius
holds the microphone between them.
Cassius
Onyx:
"Try and take it."
The crowd
explodes.
Sam
Duffy:
"Cassius accepted!"
Rick
Granger:
"Of course he accepted! Bannerman questioned him in front of everybody!
What's Cassius supposed to do, walk away?"
Cassius
tosses the microphone toward ringside.
Bannerman
backs into his corner while Cassius retreats to his.
The
referee quickly confers with ringside, receives confirmation, and turns back
toward the competitors.
Sam
Duffy:
"This was supposed to be a regular singles match. That just changed."
Rick
Granger:
"And Biceps Bannerman had better understand what he just asked for."
Sam
Duffy:
"Cassius Onyx's contract is officially at stake! Whoever wins this match
leaves Voltage with the right to challenge for any HCW singles championship at
any time!"
The
referee looks toward Bannerman.
Then
Cassius.
Both men
are ready.
The
referee signals for the bell.
The bell
sounds, and any amusement Cassius Onyx showed when accepting Biceps Bannerman's
challenge disappears almost immediately.
Cassius
explodes out of his corner, catches Bannerman as he comes forward and launches
him with the Onyx Cataclysm, the pop-up powerbomb driving Biceps hard
into the canvas.
Sam
Duffy:
"Cassius Onyx just sent a message in the opening minute! Maybe accepting
this challenge wasn't arrogance after all!"
Rick
Granger:
"Oh, it was arrogance. The difference is Cassius has the ability to back
it up."
Bannerman
survives the opening assault and begins trying to turn the contest into a
battle of strength. Cassius answers with a spinebuster, but when Bannerman
clamps on the Biceps Crunch, Cassius discovers that the challenge wasn't
merely bravado. Bannerman squeezes with everything he has, forcing Cassius to
fight his way free.
That
becomes the pattern of the opening portion of the match.
Cassius
uses his explosive power and heavy strikes to control stretches of the action,
while Bannerman refuses to let him settle into complete command. Every time
Cassius appears ready to overwhelm him, Biceps finds another opportunity to
drag the fight back toward his own strength game.
Cassius
eventually blasts Bannerman over the ropes with a European uppercut. Biceps
hits the floor, but he's back through the ropes at Abe's count of three.
Several
minutes later, Cassius does it again.
Again,
Bannerman returns.
Sam
Duffy:
"Cassius keeps trying to physically impose himself on Bannerman, but
Biceps isn't going anywhere."
Rick
Granger:
"He's going somewhere. Cassius has thrown him there twice."
Sam
Duffy:
"And twice he's come back."
At ten
minutes, Cassius hoists Bannerman high for the Sovereign Press & Drop,
only for Biceps to survive and immediately cinch in another Biceps Crunch.
Cassius struggles against the bearhug before finally escaping.
The battle
spills outside from the opposite direction soon afterward when Bannerman sends
Cassius through the ropes. This time it's Onyx hearing Honest Abe's count.
Honest
Abe:
"ONE!... TWO!... THREE!... FOUR!... FIVE!... SIX!..."
Cassius
slides back beneath the bottom rope.
Bannerman
is waiting.
But
Cassius cuts him off, takes control again and plants him with another Sovereign
Press & Drop.
He covers.
Honest
Abe:
"ONE!... TWO!..."
Bannerman
kicks out.
Sam
Duffy:
"Two! Biceps is still alive!"
Rick
Granger:
"He challenged Cassius for that contract. He'd better be prepared to
suffer for it."
And suffer
he does.
Cassius
bends Bannerman across a pendulum backbreaker. Biceps responds with a press and
slam. Cassius applies a lifting elevated wristlock. Bannerman fights through it
and answers with the Biceps Blast clothesline.
Then
Biceps gets the Biceps Crunch locked in yet again.
This one
has Cassius in trouble.
Bannerman
bears down, trying to squeeze the fight out of him while the crowd rallies
behind the challenger.
Cassius
refuses to submit.
He
eventually breaks free, but Bannerman has changed the complexion of the match.
When Cassius attempts another Sovereign Press & Drop, Biceps shuts it down.
A few
minutes later, Bannerman catches Cassius and drives him into the canvas with a spinebuster.
He hooks
the leg.
Honest
Abe:
"ONE!..."
Cassius
powers out.
Sam
Duffy:
"Bannerman nearly had the contract!"
Rick
Granger:
"Nearly doesn't transfer ownership, Duffy."
Both men
are beginning to show the effects of the fight.
Cassius
sends Bannerman over the ropes with yet another European uppercut, but once
again Biceps beats the count. The match returns to the ring and becomes a test
of endurance—atomic drop against press and slam, Sovereign Press & Drop
against Bannerman's increasingly desperate attempts to answer.
At
twenty-five minutes, Cassius catches Biceps with another pendulum backbreaker.
Bannerman
surges back with a clothesline.
Neither
man gives ground.
The crowd
rises as they struggle back to their feet.
Sam
Duffy:
"Twenty-five minutes! Biceps Bannerman asked Cassius Onyx to put one of
the most valuable possessions in HCW on the line, and he's making Cassius fight
for every second he gets to keep it!"
Rick
Granger:
"But now Biceps has to finish him. That's the difference between wanting
something and owning it."
Cassius
gets there first.
Bannerman
comes forward—
Cassius
scoops him up.
SCOOP
SLAM!
Biceps
hits hard.
Cassius
immediately drops across him and hooks the leg.
Honest
Abe:
"ONE!"
"TWO!"
The crowd
waits—
"THREE!"
The bell
rings.
WINNER
— CASSIUS ONYX — 26:00
Cassius
rolls away from Bannerman and sits upright on the canvas, breathing heavily.
For the
first time tonight, there's no mocking smile.
Biceps
Bannerman made him earn it.
Honest Abe
raises Cassius's arm before Cassius pulls away and immediately turns toward
ringside.
The
contract is handed back to him.
Cassius
takes it and stares down at it for several seconds.
Then he
looks across the ring.
Bannerman
has made it to a seated position against the bottom turnbuckle, disappointed
but conscious of the ovation beginning to build around him.
Cassius
walks toward him.
Sam
Duffy:
"Now what?"
Cassius
stops.
Bannerman
looks up.
Cassius
raises the contract between them.
For just a
moment, it looks as though he's going to rub the loss in Bannerman's face.
Instead,
Cassius gives him a small nod.
Nothing
more.
Then
Cassius turns away.
Sam
Duffy:
"Was that... respect?"
Rick
Granger:
"Don't get carried away. Cassius just reminded Bannerman who owns the
contract."
Sam
Duffy:
"Maybe. But Biceps Bannerman challenged Cassius Onyx to put that contract
on the line, took him twenty-six minutes, and came dangerously close to taking
it away from him. Cassius knows he was in a fight."
Cassius
reaches the ropes, then stops.
He looks
down at the contract in his hand.
Slowly, he
raises it above his head.
The
reaction immediately turns hostile.
And now
the smirk returns.
Rick
Granger:
"There. Is that easier for you to understand?"
Sam
Duffy:
"Much."
Cassius
steps through the ropes and heads up the aisle with the contract held securely
in his hand.
Behind
him, Bannerman gets back to his feet. The crowd applauds his effort as he looks
toward Cassius disappearing through the curtain.
Biceps
didn't get what he wanted.
But he
made Cassius Onyx fight twenty-six minutes to keep it.

Backstage,
Jett Sterling rounds a corner and suddenly stops. Owen “Orange Fury” Zestwell is standing in
front of him. Neither man moves.
Owen
Zestwell:
"You blamed me for losing the United States Championship."
Jett steps
toward him.
Jett
Sterling:
"Because you did."
Owen
Zestwell:
"I didn't make you take your eyes off Mr. X."
Jett's
expression hardens.
Owen
Zestwell:
"And I didn't lose your championship."
A brief
pause.
Owen
Zestwell:
"You did."
Jett
shoves Owen.
Owen
immediately shoves him back.
Jett fires
a right hand, and Owen answers with one of his own!
The two
begin trading punches in the corridor. Jett drives Owen backward, but Owen
fires back and sends Jett into the wall before HCW officials rush into the
scene.
Several
officials wedge themselves between the two men, forcing them apart.
Owen
continues staring at Jett from across the corridor.
Owen
Zestwell:
"You took that title from me at Critical Mass."
Jett
struggles against the officials holding him.
Owen
Zestwell:
"And I'm coming to get it back."
Owen
points directly at Jett.
Owen
Zestwell:
"If I have to go through you to get there..."
A beat.
Owen
Zestwell:
"I will."
Officials
lead Owen away while Jett continues staring after him.
Sam
Duffy:
"Now we know exactly where Owen Zestwell stands. He wants the United
States Championship back."
Rick
Granger:
"And there's a problem with that, Duffy. Jett Sterling wants it back
too."
Sam
Duffy:
"Then sooner or later, those two men may have to settle who gets to
continue that pursuit."
The camera
holds on Jett before returning to ringside.
The
broadcast returns to the Columbia Coliseum, where Sam Duffy and Rick Granger
are still reacting to what just happened backstage.
Sam
Duffy:
"Owen Zestwell made his intentions very clear. He wants the United States
Championship back, and if Jett Sterling stands between him and that
championship, Owen is prepared to go through him."
Rick
Granger:
"There's one problem with that plan, Sam. Jett already proved he can beat
Owen for that championship once."
Sam
Duffy:
"And after what we just saw backstage, I have a feeling we're eventually
going to find out whether he can do it again. Right now, though, we've got more
action coming your way."
The arena
lights dim as Dr. Red Fang's entrance music begins.
The
Ambassador emerges first, impeccably composed as he steps onto the stage. A
moment later, Dr. Red Fang appears behind him.
Boos
follow the pair down the aisle, but The Ambassador seems to regard the reaction
as beneath his concern. Fang's attention remains fixed on the ring.
Sam
Duffy:
"Dr. Red Fang making his way to the ring accompanied, as always, by The
Ambassador."
Rick
Granger:
"Now here's a man who understands that you don't have to be popular when
you're dangerous."
The
Ambassador climbs the ring steps and gestures toward his charge as Fang enters
through the ropes. Fang moves into his corner while The Ambassador takes his
position at ringside.
Then Cara
Loco's music hits.
The
reaction changes immediately as Cara bursts through the curtain, feeding off
the welcome from the Columbia crowd.
Sam
Duffy:
"And here comes Cara Loco, who has quietly put together a very impressive
2026. He’s 5-2-1 this year."
Rick
Granger:
"Then tonight he gets an opportunity to make that record even better—or
Dr. Red Fang gets an opportunity to put a dent in it."
Cara makes
his way down the aisle, acknowledging the fans before sliding beneath the
bottom rope.
He pops to
his feet and looks across the ring at Fang.
Fang
doesn't react.
The
Ambassador, however, smiles from ringside.
Cara Loco backs
into his corner as the referee checks both competitors.
Sam
Duffy:
"Two very different personalities, two very different approaches, and no
championship or personal grudge required. Sometimes you put two talented
wrestlers in the ring and find out who's better."
Rick
Granger:
"And if Cara Loco wants to keep building that record, he’d better keep one
eye on Fang and the other on The Ambassador."
The
referee calls both competitors forward and signals for the bell.
Cara Loco
entered the match looking to build on his impressive 5-2-1 record in 2026, but
Dr. Red Fang immediately made it clear that Cara would have to contend with
more than just the man across the ring from him.
Fang took
the early advantage, sending Cara to the floor with a dropkick, while The
Ambassador quickly made his presence felt. With Honest Abe's attention
elsewhere, The Ambassador struck Cara with his lead cane, giving Fang an early
opening.
Sam
Duffy:
"The Ambassador didn't wait very long to become a factor in this
one."
Rick
Granger:
"He's Fang's manager, Sam. He's managing."
Cara
refused to allow the interference to derail him. He fought his way back into
the match, eventually sending Fang outside with the Loco Attack and following
with a strong stretch of offense that included a double-underhook DDT and
repeated running crossbodies.
The
Ambassador remained a constant distraction, however. Cara even attempted to get
his hands on him at one point, only for The Ambassador to avoid him and leave
Cara frustrated.
As the
match developed, Fang began slowing Cara's momentum with his submission work
and heavier offense, while Cara continued finding opportunities to answer.
Sister Abigail gave Cara his best chance to that point, but Fang kicked out at
two.
Fang
responded with the Transylvanian Piledriver and made a cover of his own.
Cara
kicked out.
Sam
Duffy:
"Neither man has been able to put the other away, and Cara Loco is showing
exactly why he's been so difficult to beat this year."
The match
became increasingly physical from there. Cara continued fighting through Fang's
offense and connected with several hard clotheslines, while Fang repeatedly cut
off attempts to build sustained momentum.
Then The
Ambassador interfered again.
An unseen
eye gouge left Cara vulnerable, allowing Fang to regain control. Fang battered
Cara with a series of flying elbow rams, but Cara stubbornly survived two more
pin attempts.
That
resilience finally reached its limit.
Fang
caught the exhausted Cara and delivered the Skull Crusher. This time
there was no kickout.
Honest Abe
counted three.
WINNER
— DR. RED FANG w/THE AMBASSADOR — 26:00
The
Ambassador entered the ring and joined his victorious charge as Cara remained
down following a grueling twenty-six-minute contest.
Fang
stared out into the Columbia Coliseum, threw his arms outward and delivered one
of the rare declarations from the otherwise largely silent wrestler.
Dr. Red
Fang:
"VAMPIRE LUNGES FOR EVERYBODY!"
Rick
Granger:
"Beautifully stated."
Sam
Duffy:
"I don't know that I'd go that far, but Dr. Red Fang has picked up an
impressive victory tonight—and The Ambassador certainly played his part."
Fang and
The Ambassador departed together, leaving Cara to recover after a match in
which he had repeatedly threatened to overcome both men.

Backstage,
Larry Morton stands alongside Luciana Albano and Pierre Boulay. Luciana looks
entirely unimpressed by the activity surrounding tonight's Women's Convergent
Championship qualifier.
Larry
Morton:
"Luciana, in just a few moments twenty women will compete for the first
guaranteed position in the Women's Convergent Final Four. After everything
you've said about wanting another opportunity at Aurora Storm, are you at all
interested in pursuing the Convergent Championship instead?"
Luciana
looks at Larry as though the suggestion itself is beneath her.
Luciana
Albano:
"There is no one in this division better than me. Ask Korbi, ask Aurora, ask any of those I’ve
stepped on to my path to greatness. Am I
interested, how about who is more qualified than me?"
Pierre
smiles approvingly.
Luciana
Albano:
"Aurora Storm defeated me once. That does not erase everything I
accomplished before that night. I still intend to take back the World Ladies
Championship."
Luciana
glances toward the direction of the arena.
Luciana
Albano:
"But if HCW wants to put another championship opportunity in front of
Luciana Albano..."
She
smiles.
Luciana
Albano:
"Then tonight, nineteen other women can discover why they were better off
staying out of my way."
Pierre
Boulay:
"Mr. Morton, Luciana does not choose between opportunities. Opportunities
belong to Luciana."
Before
Larry can continue, Nyx Evermore steps into view.
Luciana's
smile disappears as she turns toward her.
Nyx
Evermore:
"That's a lot of confidence for someone who just lost the
championship."
Pierre
immediately steps forward, but Luciana calmly puts out an arm, stopping him.
Luciana
Albano:
"And you seem to have mistaken making a challenge for earning one."
Nyx moves
closer.
Nyx
Evermore:
"I don't need your permission to come after Aurora."
Luciana
Albano:
"No. But you'll need to get past me."
Nyx
glances toward the arena.
Nyx
Evermore:
"Good."
A faint
smile appears.
Nyx
Evermore:
"Because we're about to be in the same ring."
The two
women stare at each other.
Luciana
Albano:
"You should worry about the other eighteen."
Nyx
Evermore:
"I'm not worried about any of you."
Nyx turns
and walks away toward the staging area for the Battle Royal.
Luciana
watches her leave.
Pierre
Boulay:
"She will learn."
Luciana
gives Pierre a slight smile.
Luciana
Albano:
"They always do."
Larry
wisely decides there is no need for another question as Luciana and Pierre head
toward the Battle Royal staging area.
Sam
Duffy:
"Luciana Albano wants Aurora Storm and the World Ladies Championship
back—but she's also about to enter the first Women's Convergent qualifying
Battle Royal."
Rick
Granger:
"And so is Nyx Evermore. Those two don't have to wait very long to find
out who can get past whom."
Sam
Duffy:
"Twenty women. One Final Four position. One Wild Card position. The first
Women's Convergent qualifying Battle Royal is next."
The
broadcast begins transitioning toward ringside for the first Women's Convergent
Championship Qualifying Battle Royal.
As the
entrances continue, the ringside area steadily fills with competitors. Some
climb into the ring while others remain on the floor, keeping their distance
and sizing up potential threats.
Sam
Duffy:
"And remember, all twenty women are active from the opening bell. They
don't all have to be inside that ring at once. This fight can—and almost
certainly will—spill throughout the ringside area."
Eventually,
Nyx Evermore makes her way through the curtain alone. Her eyes move between the
competitors already assembled before settling briefly on Luciana Albano.
Luciana,
accompanied to ringside by Pierre Boulay, notices immediately.
Their
confrontation from moments ago hasn't been forgotten.
Pierre
gives Luciana some final instructions before moving away from the competition
area. With managers prohibited from interfering, Luciana joins the other women
without him.
Across the
ring, Nyx continues watching her.
But
they're hardly alone.
Avery St.
Claire, Blair Kensington, Chloe Parker, Daphne Ashcroft, Dixie Caverns, Joy
Monroe, Korbi Kong, Lavender Gooms, Leslie Grimes, Luna Shadow, Penny Hall,
Phoenix Blaze, Sparkle, Starla Nova, The Stillwell Angel, Trinity Bowman,
Valeria Vex and Veronica “The Heat” Flame have all taken positions either
inside the ring or around it.
Twenty
women surround Honest Abe.
Some are
already exchanging words. Others are watching Korbi Kong. A few are keeping
their backs against the ropes rather than allowing themselves to be surrounded.
Rick
Granger:
"Look at this, Sam. Alliances are already forming—and I'll give them about
thirty seconds."
Sam
Duffy:
"Nobody has entered yet and nobody is waiting to enter. All twenty women
are part of this match from the moment that bell sounds. The winner earns the
first guaranteed position in the Final Four. The runner-up earns a place in the
Wild Card."
Honest Abe
looks around at the competitors scattered throughout the ring and ringside
area.
There is
no orderly starting formation.
There
couldn't possibly be.
He signals
for the bell.
And the
entire ringside area erupts.
The bell
sounds and there is no feeling-out process whatsoever.
Twenty
women immediately collide throughout the ring and ringside area, turning the
first Women's Convergent qualifier into exactly the kind of chaos everyone
expected.
And almost
immediately, Daphne Ashcroft strikes.
Phoenix
Blaze is caught near the edge of the action, and Daphne sends her out with a
suicide dive for the first elimination of the match.
Sam
Duffy:
"Phoenix Blaze is gone already! That's how quickly your opportunity can
disappear in a match like this!"
The pace
doesn't slow.
One of the
biggest stories entering the match ends almost as quickly.
After
their confrontation only moments earlier, Luciana Albano and Nyx Evermore had
both entered with plenty to prove. But before Luciana can impose herself on the
field, Chloe Parker catches her with a superkick and sends the former World
Ladies Champion out of the match.
Luciana
lands on the floor and looks absolutely stunned.
Sam
Duffy:
"LUCIANA IS OUT!"
Rick
Granger:
"You have got to be kidding me!"
Pierre
Boulay is beside himself at ringside. Luciana looks back toward the ring in
disbelief as Chloe realizes exactly whom she has just eliminated.
Sam
Duffy:
"Luciana Albano spent the last several minutes telling us why nobody in
this field was more qualified than she was! Chloe Parker just eliminated
her!"
Luciana
argues furiously with officials, but the decision stands.
Elsewhere,
Trinity Bowman eliminates Luna Shadow, Avery St. Claire sends Valeria Vex out,
and Sparkle eliminates Penny Hall. Joy Monroe catches Veronica “The Heat” Flame
with a cartwheel and superkick to end Flame's night, while Lavender Gooms
powers Leslie Grimes out with a press and slam.
Then
another major contender falls.
Nyx
Evermore eliminates The Stillwell Angel with a wheelbarrow bulldog, but Nyx's
momentum doesn't last. Dixie Caverns catches Nyx near the ropes and sends
her out.
Nyx hits
the floor.
She
immediately spins around toward the ring.
Sam
Duffy:
"Nyx is eliminated! Luciana Albano and Nyx Evermore are BOTH gone!"
Rick
Granger:
"So much for their argument over which one of them was going to win."
For one
brief moment, Nyx's eyes find Luciana, who has still not completely departed
the ringside area.
Neither
woman says anything.
Neither
needs to.
Tonight,
somebody else is taking the first Final Four position.
As the
field begins thinning, several women distinguish themselves.
Chloe
Parker follows her stunning elimination of Luciana by dumping Starla Nova.
Lavender Gooms eliminates Avery St. Claire. Dixie Caverns follows Nyx's
elimination by removing Sparkle.
But
gradually, the Battle Royal begins revolving around one woman.
Korbi
Kong.
Korbi
eliminates Blair Kensington with a scoop powerslam.
Daphne
Ashcroft is next, falling victim to a backbreaker.
Dixie
Caverns tries to continue her own impressive run, but Korbi runs through her
with a shoulder block and sends her out.
Lavender
Gooms goes next.
Then Chloe
Parker—who had already eliminated Luciana and Starla—is caught by Korbi and
removed from the match as well.
Sam
Duffy:
"Korbi Kong is tearing through this field!"
Rick
Granger:
"Everybody wanted an opportunity, Sam. Now somebody has to figure out how
to get her out of there!"
Meanwhile,
Trinity Bowman quietly survives.
She had
eliminated Luna Shadow early and later ends Joy Monroe's run with a bridging
suplex. As the field dwindles, Trinity continues finding ways to stay alive
while Korbi becomes the obvious target.
Eventually
there are only two.
Korbi
Kong.
Trinity
Bowman.
The
realization spreads through the Columbia Coliseum.
Both women
have already accomplished something important.
Sam
Duffy:
"That's it! We're down to two! Korbi Kong and Trinity Bowman!"
Rick
Granger:
"Which means Trinity has already secured the Wild Card position. But
forget the Wild Card—she's one elimination away from taking the Final Four
position herself!"
Trinity
knows it too.
After
surviving everything the Battle Royal has thrown at her, she throws everything
she has left at Korbi.
For the
first time in several minutes, the woman who has been bulldozing through the
field finds herself having to fight simply to remain in the match.
Trinity
tries to capitalize.
But Korbi
will not go.
The
struggle reaches the ropes.
Trinity
attempts to finish what nobody else has been able to accomplish.
Korbi
turns the tables.
A
backbreaker leaves Trinity vulnerable—
and after twenty
minutes, Trinity Bowman is eliminated.
The bell
sounds.
WINNER
— KORBI KONG — 20:00
WILD
CARD QUALIFIER — TRINITY BOWMAN
Korbi Kong
stands amid the aftermath of the Battle Royal as the significance of what she
has just accomplished sinks in.
Sam
Duffy:
"Korbi Kong has done it! The first position in the Women's Convergent
Final Four belongs to Korbi Kong!"
Rick
Granger:
"Six eliminations, Sam. SIX! She didn't sneak through this thing. Korbi
Kong tore through it."
Outside
the ring, Trinity Bowman is disappointed, but her night has not ended in
failure.
Sam
Duffy:
"And Trinity Bowman isn't finished either. By surviving until the final
two, Trinity has earned the first position in the four-woman Wild Card
match!"
Korbi
looks around the arena before raising her arms.
The first
piece of HCW's Women's Convergent Championship picture has fallen into place.
Korbi
Kong is going to the Final Four.
Trinity
Bowman is going to the Wild Card.
And
eighteen other women now know they'll have to find another route.
★ Match Rating: 4 Stars
The
broadcast fades away from Korbi Kong's celebration as the first Women's
Convergent qualifier officially enters the books.
Sam
Duffy:
"Korbi Kong has claimed the first position in the Women's Convergent Final
Four, while Trinity Bowman has secured the first Wild Card position. Still to
come tonight, the Heritage Tag Team Championship is on the line!"
Rick
Granger:
"And McPugg and Dilg have already shown they can win together. Tonight we
find out whether they can do it when there's championship gold waiting at the
end."
Sam
Duffy:
"Before that match, Larry Morton will speak with the champions, the Iron
Syndicate. That's coming up when Voltage returns."
—
COMMERCIAL BREAK —
Voltage
returns backstage, where Larry Morton stands with the HCW Heritage Tag Team
Champions, Iosef Koloff and Krueger Kruschev — the Iron Syndicate. Both men
have their championship belts secured around their waists.
Larry
Morton:
"Gentlemen, later tonight you defend the Heritage Tag Team Championship
against Bruiser 'Cauliflower' McPugg and Leopold Dilg. Your challengers earned
this opportunity last week when they defeated Doofus Covfefe and Waldo
Winchester—and perhaps surprised some people with how effectively they worked
together."
Koloff
looks toward Kruschev. Neither appears particularly impressed.
Iosef
Koloff:
"Surprised? Yes. Impressed? No."
Kruschev
nods.
Iosef
Koloff:
"McPugg and Dilg win one match together, and suddenly people wonder if
they can defeat Iron Syndicate."
Krueger
Kruschev:
"They worked well together."
Larry
looks slightly surprised by the concession.
Krueger
Kruschev:
"Tonight, they learn difference between working together... and being
team."
Koloff
taps the faceplate of his championship.
Iosef
Koloff:
"These championships are not reward for one good night. Iron Syndicate has
fought together, suffered together and won together."
Larry
Morton:
"Then you're not concerned about the unusual style your challengers bring
tonight?"
Kruschev
stares at him.
Krueger
Kruschev:
"We are not concerned."
Koloff
turns toward his partner for a moment before Kruschev continues.
Krueger
Kruschev:
"We are champions."
Koloff
gives an approving nod.
Iosef
Koloff:
"We do not need to underestimate McPugg and Dilg. We prepare for them. We
fight them. And if they want these championships..."
Koloff
looks directly into the camera.
Iosef
Koloff:
"...they can try to take them from Iron Syndicate."
The
champions walk away, leaving Larry behind.
Larry
Morton:
"Strong words from the Heritage Tag Team Champions. We'll find out whether
they can back them up because that championship match is our main event—and
it's next."
The camera
returns to the Columbia Coliseum as the crowd settles in for the final match of
the night.
Sam
Duffy:
"This is what we've been building toward all evening. The Heritage Tag
Team Championship is about to be decided."
Rick
Granger:
"And we've talked about McPugg and Dilg being an unlikely combination, but
there's nothing hypothetical anymore. They won together last week. That victory
put them here. Now let's see what they do with it."
Bruiser “Cauliflower”
McPugg emerges first, looking every bit as rough and ready as usual.
A moment
later, Leopold Dilg joins him.
The
contrast between the two remains obvious, but there is considerably less
uncertainty between them than there was a week ago. They exchange a quick look
before heading down the aisle together.
Sam
Duffy:
"One week ago, we didn't really know what to expect when these two were
paired together."
Rick
Granger:
"And twenty-three minutes later, McPugg had pinned Waldo Winchester. Maybe
they didn't know what to expect from each other either."
McPugg
climbs into the ring while Dilg takes the steps. Once inside, they retreat to
their corner and quietly confer.
No
celebration.
No
pretending they've suddenly become lifelong partners.
They know
what they accomplished last week.
Tonight is
something entirely different.
The
atmosphere changes as the music of the Iron Syndicate hits.
Iosef
Koloff and Krueger
Kruschev emerge wearing the HCW Heritage Tag Team Championship belts around
their waists.
The
champions stop on the stage and survey the ring.
Koloff
says something to Kruschev.
Kruschev
nods.
Then the
Iron Syndicate begin their march toward the ring.
Sam
Duffy:
"Listen to what Kruschev told Larry Morton before the break. He admitted
they're concerned about their challengers—and said that's exactly why they're
champions."
Rick
Granger:
"That's preparation, Sam. You don't hold championships by assuming the
other guys can't beat you."
Koloff and
Kruschev climb into the ring with their championships still fastened around
their waists.
McPugg and
Dilg watch from across the ring.
The four
men are kept in their respective corners as Tony “Echo” Calibur steps
into the center.
Tony
“Echo” Calibur:
"Ladies and gentlemen, the following contest is your MAIN EVENT of
the evening... and it is for the HCW HERITAGE TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP!"
The
Columbia Coliseum responds as Tony turns toward the challengers.
Tony
“Echo” Calibur:
"Introducing first, the challengers..."
He
gestures toward their corner.
Tony
“Echo” Calibur:
"BRUISER 'CAULIFLOWER' McPUGG... LEOPOLD DILG... McPUGG AND DILG!"
McPugg
steps forward and raises a fist while Dilg remains focused on the champions.
Tony turns
toward the opposite corner.
Koloff and
Kruschev remain wearing their belts.
Tony
“Echo” Calibur:
"And their opponents... they are the reigning and defending HCW
HERITAGE TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS..."
Koloff
steps forward.
Kruschev
joins him.
Tony
“Echo” Calibur:
"IOSEF KOLOFF... KRUEGER KRUSCHEV... THE IRON SYNDICATE!"
The
champions finally unfasten their belts.
Koloff
takes one last look at his championship before handing it to “Honest” Abe.
Kruschev does the same.
Abe moves
to the center of the ring and raises both Heritage Tag Team Championship belts
high above his head.
McPugg and
Dilg stare at them.
Koloff and
Kruschev stare across at the challengers.
Abe lowers
the championships and passes them through the ropes to the timekeeper.
The four
men retreat to their corners.
One member
of each team steps through the ropes onto the apron, leaving the opening
competitors behind.
Sam
Duffy:
"McPugg and Dilg earned the opportunity. Now they have to prove last week
wasn't a one-night success."
Rick
Granger:
"And the Iron Syndicate said if they want those championships, they'll
have to take them."
“Honest”
Abe checks both competitors.
Everything
is ready.
Ring
the bell.
The bell
rings, and the Iron Syndicate immediately demonstrate exactly what Krueger
Kruschev meant earlier when he talked about the difference between two
wrestlers working together and being a team.
Iosef
Koloff and Kruschev catch Bruiser “Cauliflower” McPugg in an early double-team
assault, hammering the challenger before McPugg can establish himself. But
McPugg refuses to be overwhelmed. A heavy punch gives him some breathing room,
allowing both teams to make their first changes.
Once
Leopold Dilg enters, the challengers begin showing that last week's success was
no accident.
Dilg
trades power with Kruschev, answering a hanging suplex with an atomic drop
before catching Koloff with a double-underhook suplex. When McPugg returns, his
offense is considerably less sophisticated—but every bit as effective. A
running lariat rocks Koloff, and a massive powerbomb forces the champions to
reassess their challengers.
Sam
Duffy:
"Nobody should be questioning whether McPugg and Dilg belong in this match
anymore."
Rick
Granger:
"Belonging in the match doesn't put those belts around their waists."
The Iron
Syndicate turn to their greatest advantage: each other.
The
champions try to overwhelm Dilg with their established two-man offense, but
twice the challenger turns their numbers against them. First, Dilg fights his
way free and catches them with a fisherman suplex. Moments later, he escapes
another attempted double-team and frustrates the champions again.
For a
pairing that had shown what they are capable of, McPugg and Dilg are proving
remarkably difficult to control.
Sam
Duffy:
"Look at Dilg! The Iron Syndicate keeps trying to use that experience
advantage, and he keeps finding a way out!"
Rick
Granger:
"That's impressive. But every time he has to escape two men, Sam, he's
spending energy. The champions can keep doing this longer than he can keep
surviving it."
Rather
than unraveling, the Iron Syndicate simply adjust.
Koloff
begins wearing McPugg down with forearms, stomps and an inverted suplex. McPugg
answers whenever he can—a reverse neckbreaker, chops and a knee lift keeping
the challengers competitive—but the longer the match continues, the more
frequently the Iron Syndicate dictate who is fighting and when.
Still,
McPugg and Dilg refuse to disappear.
Dilg
catches Kruschev with a belly-to-back suplex, and the challengers continue
making the tags necessary to prevent the champions from completely isolating
either man.
Sam
Duffy:
"Last week these two surprised us with how well they worked together.
Tonight they're proving it wasn't a fluke."
Rick
Granger:
"But look at the Iron Syndicate. Every time McPugg and Dilg start building
something, the champions find a way to break it apart."
Eventually,
that experience begins paying dividends.
Dilg finds
himself trapped again, and this time he cannot fight through it.
Koloff and
Kruschev converge on him. An inverted suplex leaves Dilg vulnerable before the
champions send him crashing out of the ring.
“Honest”
Abe begins counting.
McPugg
calls for his partner to get up as Dilg struggles back toward the apron.
FIVE!
Dilg
reaches the ring.
SIX!
He pulls
himself onto the apron.
SEVEN!
Dilg gets
back inside.
Sam
Duffy:
"Dilg is back! The challengers are still alive!"
Rick
Granger:
"But look at him. Getting back into the ring isn't the same as
recovering."
Dilg is
hurting, but he isn't finished.
He finds
one more surge and catches Koloff with a vertical suplex.
McPugg
stretches as far over the ropes as he can, calling for the tag.
Dilg
starts toward him.
But he
can't get there.
Koloff
cuts him off.
The
earlier escapes, the double teams and the desperate return from the floor have
taken their toll. The Iron Syndicate finally have Dilg exactly where they want
him.
Koloff
drives him down with a brutal Face Stomp.
He covers.
ONE!
TWO!
THREE!
The bell
rings at 19:00.
WINNERS
AND STILL HCW HERITAGE TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS — THE IRON SYNDICATE
“Honest”
Abe receives the Heritage Tag Team Championship belts from ringside and
presents them to Iosef Koloff and Krueger Kruschev.
McPugg
immediately enters to check on Dilg as the champions reclaim their gold.
Tony
“Echo” Calibur:
"Ladies and gentlemen, your winners... and STILL HCW HERITAGE TAG TEAM
CHAMPIONS... IOSEF KOLOFF AND KRUEGER KRUSCHEV... THE IRON SYNDICATE!"
Koloff and
Kruschev raise their championships.
Sam
Duffy:
"McPugg and Dilg proved something tonight. They pushed the Heritage Tag
Team Champions for nineteen minutes and showed that what happened last week was
absolutely no accident."
Rick
Granger:
"But the champions proved something too. McPugg and Dilg can work
together. The Iron Syndicate are a team."
McPugg
helps Dilg back to his feet.
Across the
ring, the Iron Syndicate look toward the challengers.
No
mockery.
No
grandstanding.
They
simply raise the championships that McPugg and Dilg were unable to take from
them.
Tonight,
the Iron Syndicate remain the standard.
★★★★
The camera
remains on the ring as Iosef Koloff and Krueger Kruschev stand together
with the HCW Heritage Tag Team Championship belts raised overhead.
Bruiser
“Cauliflower” McPugg and Leopold Dilg make their way toward the back,
disappointed but having proven that their success as a team was no accident.
Sam
Duffy:
"The Iron Syndicate came into tonight as Heritage Tag Team Champions, and
that's exactly how they're leaving. But what a night it has been here on
Voltage."
Highlights
from earlier in the evening begin appearing on screen.
Sam
Duffy:
"Cassius Onyx put his anytime singles-title contract on the line after
being challenged by Biceps Bannerman—and twenty-six minutes later, Cassius
still had it."
Rick
Granger:
"Bannerman wanted to find out whether he could take that contract from
Cassius. He got his answer."
The
highlights shift to Dr. Red Fang's victory over Cara Loco.
Sam
Duffy:
"Dr. Red Fang, with plenty of involvement from The Ambassador, handed Cara
Loco a hard-fought defeat."
Rick
Granger:
"And apparently there are still vampire lunges for everybody."
Sam pauses
for just a moment.
Sam
Duffy:
"I'm not asking."
The
footage changes again, showing the confrontation between Owen Zestwell and Jett
Sterling.
Sam
Duffy:
"Owen Zestwell made his intentions clear. He wants the United States
Championship back, and if Jett Sterling stands between Owen and that
championship, Owen says he'll go through him."
Rick
Granger:
"Considering what happened backstage tonight, I'd say we're well beyond
talking."
Finally,
the highlights turn to the Women's Convergent qualifying Battle Royal—Luciana
Albano's stunning early elimination, Nyx Evermore being sent out by Dixie
Caverns, Trinity Bowman's survival to the final two and Korbi Kong tearing
through the field.
Sam
Duffy:
"And the road to crown HCW's representative for the Women's Convergent
Championship officially began tonight. Twenty women started—and Korbi Kong
emerged with the first guaranteed position in the Final Four."
Rick
Granger:
"Six eliminations. Nobody else had more than two. Korbi didn't just win
that Battle Royal—she made a statement."
Sam
Duffy:
"And Trinity Bowman survives to claim the first Wild Card position. There
are three qualifying Battle Royals still to come, and after what happened
tonight, predicting who reaches that Final Four just became considerably more
difficult."
The
broadcast returns to the live shot of the Iron Syndicate making their way up
the aisle with their championships.
Sam
Duffy:
"For Rick Granger, I'm Sam Duffy. Thank you for joining us from the
Columbia Coliseum. The Iron Syndicate are still the Heritage Tag Team
Champions, Korbi Kong is headed to the Final Four, and the landscape of HCW
continues to change."
Rick
Granger:
"We'll see you next time."
Sam
Duffy:
"Good night, everybody!"
The final
image is Iosef Koloff and Krueger Kruschev at the top of the aisle, turning
back toward the ring and raising the Heritage Tag Team Championship belts one
more time.
HCW
VOLTAGE fades to black.
