HWF/CSWA Wrestling Newsletter 2014 – 09.09

Hello fans and welcome back for our newsletter.  This is the final one for the moth as the wrestlers are being given off a few days for some R&R.  Today’s issue comes from that mysterious place on earth that no one really seems to know where it is – Parts Unknown (somehow, the fans found it so they could attend this show). 

For the uneducated, Parts Unknown is the home of some of the greatest wrestlers in history – The Missing Link, The Ultimate Warrior, Papa Shango, Giant Gonzalez, Doink the Clown, Battle Kat, the Berzerker, the tag team of Demolition, and of course are very own superstar celebrating his birthday today – the Super Warrior. 

Hulk Hogan begins the show by wishing the Super Warrior a happy birthday and says he has the perfect gift for him – a title shot – at HWF World Champion Bray Wyatt.  Hogan then moves on talking about Kurt Angle’s win over the Undertaker to become the new CSWA World Champion.  This brings out AJ Styles – the US Champ.  Styles claims he is the number one contender but has yet to receive any title shot.  This then brings out Shield member and North American Champion Ryback who says he should be the #1 contender.  Things get out of control after Bobby Lashley, Christopher Daniels, Randy Orton, Mark Henry, Rey Rey and Jeff Hardy come out to plead their case for the next shot.  Hogan says an 8 man tournament will be held to decide who gets the next title shot.  He then dismisses everyone so the show can begin.

The first match in the mini tournament is Christopher Daniels vs Randy Orton.  In just 7 minutes, the Fallen Angel gets the win over the Viper after hitting a double knee gutbuster and a roll up for the pin.  Christopher Daniels moves on.

The next match on the card is Bobby Lashley taking on 719 Cartel member Rey Rey.  For 15 minutes, Lashley dominated Rey Rey and finished off Rey with a Dominator.  Bobby moves on.

 Match #3 is Jeff Hardy taking on Mark Henry.  Ryback came out to sit at ringside and that threw Henry off his game.  For 8 minutes, Henry was distracted and was dazzled by the speed of Hardy.  Jeff Hardy finished off the World’s Strongest Man with a suicide dive.   Ryback picked up the prone Henry and tossed him back in the ring.  Hardy then reluctantly made the cover for the win.

Match #4 is AJ Styles vs Ryback.  This one went a little longer than most with AJ controlling the match.  Mark Henry came out and Ryback was shocked.  AJ nailed a gut buster and rolled up Ryback for the 1,2,3 at the 11 minute mark.  Henry jumped in the ring and went after Ryback but Ryback bailed. 

As we take a bit of a break, the next match is for the Women’s title with champ Velvet Sky taking on AJ Lee.  This one was the longest match of the night with both women giving their all but for Velvet, it wasn’t enough.  AJ Lee was like a hot knife going through butter. She controlled the entire match and after 16 minutes, she used a headscissors takedown and a hook of the leg to get the 1-2-3 and become the NEW WOMEN’S CHAMPION.  She then skipped around the ring with her title held high. 

We get back to the tournament action with AJ Styles taking on Jeff Hardy.  This one went for a whopping 15 minutes and AJ just beat Hardy down.  Jeff looked really sluggish and out of it in the ring but AJ gave it his all.  After locking Hardy in a reverse STF for almost 30 seconds, he turned it into a pin and got the 1-2-3.  AJ Styles will be moving on to the finals that will take place at the next show.

Match #7 is Bobby Lashley vs Christopher Daniels.  In what turned out to be the longest and BEST match of the night so far was seeing these two give it their all.  They went a solid 25 minutes with the match being almost even the whole way through.  The HOLY SHIT moment of the match was towards the end when Daniels hit a sidewalk slam on Lashley from the top rope.  A disoriented Bobby made it to his feet only to be met with the Angel’s Wings from Daniels who made the cover and got the win.   The Finals match – to be held at the next show, will have AJ Styles vs Christopher Daniels to see who will be the #1 contender.

The main event begins with hometown superhero the Super Warrior making his way down to the ring ala his mentor the Ultimate Warrior – running at high speed to the ring where he shakes the ropes until they almost come off the ringposts.  The HWF World Champion Bray Wyatt comes out with a mic and in a very eerie voice, he is singing (almost a sad version) of Happy Birthday to the Super Warrior (it was actually really creepy).  “My boy, you are one of Wyatt’s Warriors.  Why do you want to fight me?  I’m Papa and you’re my son.  If you really want to pursue this my boy, I’m going to have to teach you some tough love.  Is that what you want?”  By now, Bray is in the ring looking Super Warrior in the eyes.  “Is it, my boy?” Bray asks again. Super Warrior asks for the mic.  “ The Soopa Warriahhhh wants what he wants.  The Soopa Warriahhh hasn’t held a singles title in a long time. The Soopa Warriahhh appreciates Bray Wyatt and his forming of Wyatt’s Warriors to honor all the warriors who have come before and pave the way for those to follow.  I ask this of you to allow me the opportunity to fight you Bray Wyatt to see if I can truly live up to what it means to be a Warriahhh.”  Bray takes the mic. “So be it, my son.”  

The bell rings and this one is off to the races.  It is in the format of a boot camp style match.  For 9 minutes, the Super Warrior held his own against his ‘papa’ Bray Wyatt but after that, it was all Bray.  The end of the match came at the 13 minute mark after Bray stomped on Warrior’s head with a military boot and pinned him.  Bray then sat down in the ring and held Warrior in his arms and rocked back and forth singing (eerily) “Happy Birthday” once again to the Super Warrior.  The show ended with this scene in the ring.

Everyone gets a few days off for some R&R so we expect to be back with news starting in October. Stay Tuned.

HWF/CSWA Wrestling Newsletter 2014 – 09.08

Hello fans and welcome back to our newsletter.  Today’s issue comes from our show taped in front of a Portland, ME hot crowd.  Before the show begins, we see the CSWA World Champion the Undertaker arrive.  As he exits his limo, Brock Lesnar attacks him and bounces the champ off the limo.  Brock then F-5’s him on the limo and then leaves.

The show begins, not with GM Hulk Hogan or his lackey Psycho Jack Hercules but with a bunch of newbies making their way down to the ring.  The introduce themselves as Adrian Neville, Prince Devitt and Tyler Breeze and they call themselves the “NXT kids on the block”.  They are here to make an Impact and they immediately challenge the Mexicali Flyers and Rey Rey.  The Flyers and Rey Rey come out and say that they will accept the NXT kids challenge.  They head to the ring for their match.

The new kids put on a good show but it was not enough for the seasoned veterans.  The Cartel only needed 8 minutes and with a neckbreaker from El Dragon on Adrian, he secured the 1-2-3 for the Cartel.  After the match, the Flyers and Rey Rey tried to shake the NXT kids’ hands but they refused and walked away.  It looks like the NXT kids will be rostered to the CSWA.

We cut to the back where another new guy is being introduced.  His name is Xavier Woods and he is here to win.  He says he spoke to GM Hogan and asked for a mentor to be teamed with and he was granted Tyson Kidd.  Kidd and Xavier will be put in the HWF (Tyson is being moved from CSWA).

Undertaker is in the back being checked out and he says he’s fine.  He is here to defend his title against an Olympic Hero – Kurt Angle.  This will not set him back.

We head to the ring where Christian has set up the ‘Peep’ Show (like his peeps, not something creepy).  He introduces his guest and it is the Caped Crusader.  Crusader comes out to the cheering from the fans.  Christian asks about Ms. Caped Crusader and if there is ‘anything’ between the two.  CC says no and that he was approached by Ms. CC and asked if she could follow in his footsteps…bringing truth and justice to the Women’s side of the house.  They are immediately interrupted by the Shield (Ryback, Ambrose & Rollins) and they start trashing the Peep set.  Christian and CC start to fight back but are quickly overwhelmed.  Assistance comes from a very unlikely source as North American Champion Mark Henry runs down and chases off the Shield.  Caped Crusader and Mark Henry actually shake hands and Henry says that even though he has a match against Ryback later for the NA title, at Revenge, we should see the Shield vs Christian, Henry and the Caped Crusader.  The fans seem to like that idea.

Christian and the Caped Crusader step out of the ring as Mark Henry prepares for his match against Ryback.  Mark is in control for the first 8 minutes of the match but Ryback starts to build up steam and start chipping away at the façade of the World’s Strongest Man.  About 15 minutes into the match, the Shield came back down to ringside and brawled with Christian and CC.  Seth Rollins, after dropping the Crusader with a well placed superkick, blasts Mark Henry with a steel pipe (behind the ref’s back – of course).  Ryback took full control of the match and for the next 8 minutes, dominated Henry.  A weakened Henry fell to the Meathook but Ryback couldn’t pin him.  He then deadlifted Henry and nailed a powerslam that shook the entire ring.  We were afraid it was going to collapse.  Ryback makes the cover and with a  hook of the leg (and some tights), Ryback gets the 1-2-3.  Ryback has just become the NEW NORTH AMERICAN CHAMPION.

We cut to a video of the Elitist Champion Alexander Rusev in his home waiting on a pizza delivery.  The pizza guy finally shows up and Rusev complains he is 2 minutes late and his pizza is now free.  The pizza delivery guy reveals himself to be Reid Rothchild (did he take on a part time gig to pay the bills or just for this attack?) and attacks Rusev.  Reid rubs Rusev’s face in the pie, nails a stunner and pours tomato sauce on him before leaving.  Reid is partially satisfied but he broke the rule about Rusev and Reid taking time away from each other.  I wonder if this will have any reprecussions.

We go back to the ring for our next match which has AJ Styles defending the US title against Daniel Bryan.  This is a really short match that sees Styles dominate.  It only takes 4 minutes for Styles to hit the Styles Clash and pin Bryan.  After the match, Daniel seemed more frustrated at his loss.

GM Hulk Hogan is backstage and says he will be making announcements all evening in regards to the Revenge PPV.  He confirms that Alexander Rusev and Reid Rothchild will be in a Hell in a Cell.  Hogan says to stick around as more announcements will be forthcoming. (I don’t think he saw the segment between Rusev and Reid)

We go back to the ring and Cactus Jackie is already out there.  She is calling out Ms. Caped Crusader.  It was just revealed that she is going by the name of Flamebird.   She makes her way to the ring and climbs in.  Jackie gets in her face asking what right she has to interfere in her matches and Flamebird nails her with the Wam!Bam!Pow!.  Jackie retreats as Flamebird removes her mask….HOLY CRAP!  It is none other than AJ Lee.  The crowd pops (fyi, Hogan has been trying since he took control to get Lee to sign a contract but Vinnie Mac wouldn’t allow it).  She skips around the ring before asking for a microphone.  “Hello Portland!”  The crowd pops again.  “The greatest Women’s Champion is in the house.  Now, if I really wanted, I would call out the Diva’s Champion Ravishing Raquel, challenge her and then take her title but I’m really after one thing…initially and that is the Women’s Title.  I want to challenge the champ right here and now to a non-title match.  After I win, I will challenge her for the title.  Once I win that, I will call out the Ravishing One and challenge her to a “winner takes all” match.  Then and only then will I be the undisputed Women’s champion.”

Velvet Sky makes her way out and agrees to the non-title match up.  AJ dominates the champ and even manages to turn a reverse bulldog from Sky into the Black Widow where she gets the champ to tap out in only 5 minutes.  AJ is already making a name for herself.  She picks up the mic again.  “One win down and one to go.  Once I win the title, I will dominate the division like my good friend did in his…you know who I’m taking about.”  A HUGE CM Punk chant broke out..  “Pfft.  Who?  No, I was referring to my buddy the Caped Crusader.”  She dropped the mic, started skipping again and then left the ring.

GM Hulk Hogan announces that the Shield comprised of the North American champion Ryback, Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins will take on Christian, the Caped Crusader and Mark Henry at the PPV.

Casey Jones makes his way to the ring to defend the X-Division title.  It is pretty amazing that the X-Division title, along with the Intercontinental Championship have only changed hands 3 times. This is the fewest of any of the championships.  However, where Dolph Ziggler has had 5 successful defenses, Casey Jones actually had 6.  He is the longest reigning of all our champions.  He comes out with his tag team partner Bran-Don-Goh (who just wants to win).  Casey is a bit surprised when his opponent is announced at is none other than the Samoan Submission Machine Samoa Joe.  Casey actually gulps when Joe makes his way to the ring.  A fan in the front row has a sign that reads “Joe’s gonna kill you”.  Casey did ok for the first 10 minutes but then after that, it was all Joe.  Joe was beating the champ down and owning him but he just couldn’t get Casey to tap out or stay down for the 3.  Just past the 25 minute mark, a beaten and bloodied Casey Jones gets hurled into the crowd.  Bran-Don-Goh pleads with him to just stay down and Casey obliges.  Casey ends up getting counted out.  Joe wins the match but not the title.  It looks like Casey’s reign is still intact.  Bran-Don-Goh helps Casey to his feet only to knock him back down with a flying calf kick.  He then locks in a stepover toe hold facelock and Casey is screaming in pain tapping out.  Bran-Don-Goh kicks him a few times before leaving to the nasty booing coming from this crowd.  He doesn’t seem to care.

It is time for our main event and Kurt Angle comes out first to the cheering from the fans.  He is then followed by a very slow moving World Champion the Undertaker.  Angle asks Undertaker if he is ok to actually have this match as they can postpone it till a later date but Undertaker answers with a huge boot to the face.  Ok, I guess he’s ok afterall…maybe not.  That seems to be all Undertaker had in his tank as Angle lowered his strap and went to town on the champ.  As each minute passed, Undertaker looked worse and worse.  By the time the 12^th minute rolled around, Undertaker could barely stand.  Kurt picked up the champ and nailed an Angle Slam.  He yelled “Wooo” before making the cover.  The ref counted 1…2….3.  Kurt Angle has just defeated the Undertaker to become the NEW CSWA World Heavyweight Champion.   As Kurt is celebrating in the ring, a video comes on which shows Angle and Brock Lesnar…collaborating.  WHAT THE?  Kurt is trying to play ignorant but the crowd is beginning to turn on him.  Kurt has no idea what happened until Bobby Lashley comes out and says he ran the video.  He knew Kurt was dirty as soon as he came over from the HWF. Bobby says that if Kurt really is on the up and up, he would give Bobby a title shot here and now.  Bobby chased Kurt out of and around the ring.  Kurt stopped, grabbed a chair and blasted Bobby with it.  He then went to work on Bobby’s ankle before throwing him in the ring.  Angle tells the ref to start the match.  For 3 minutes, Angle worked on the leg and ankle of Lashley.  When Bobby could no longer stand on it. Kurt applied the Angle Lock and got Bobby to tap out.  Kurt is successful in his first (questionable) title defense.  Kurt leaves to the booing of the crowd.  Suits come out to help Bobby to the back.

Back in his office, Hogan says he has one more announcement before bringing this show to an end.  Hogan announces that Cena vs Lesnar will be an I Quit Match.  The crowd pops until Hogan tells everyone “Thanks for coming, brothers!” and brings the show to an end.

I think the October PPV is shaping up pretty good right now.  I think the full lineup for the card should be determined in the next couple of weeks.  Stay Tuned.

HWF/CSWA Wrestling Newsletter 2014 – 09.07

Hello fans and welcome back to our newsletter.  We start off with an update about Wade Barrett.  Barrett was taken to the hospital after his match with the diabolical Bray Wyatt.  Barrett suffered some minor injuries but will be kept a few days for observation.  I’m sure he’ll be back sooner rather than later.

Our show took place in Bangor, Maine, the spring/summer residence of Horror expert Stephen King.  In fact, Mr. King is at ringside for this event.  The show begins with “Break the Walls down” and out comes Y2J himself, Chris Jericho in a suit.  Jericho heads to the ring but first shakes hands with Mr. King.  He gets in the ring and asks for a mic. “Welcome to…Wrestling….is….Jericho.  As I’ve told you all before, as long as I can perform to the level expected from Y2J, I would be here but if I could not, then it would be time for me to take a break.  Not taking anything away from Bobby Lashley, that man is a monster, but I need to be in the title hunt for you to get the BEST Chris Jericho out there.  He is not here so it’s time for me to…”  He is cut off as the Beast Brock Lesnar charges the ring and attacks Jericho.  He just pounds the holy hell out of him not letting him up at all.  Brock nails 2 powerbombs and follows it with an F-5.  Brock is standing over the broken body of Jericho when John Cena bolts to the ring and goes after Brock.  Jericho is pulled from the ring by the suits. Brock and Cena pound the stuffing out of each other before Hulk Hogan comes out and more “suits” hit the ring to break it up.  Brock ends up backing off but Cena is trying to tear through to get his hands on Brock.  Brock leaves the ring laughing while Cena is being restrained.  Hogan has a mic.  “Brock, you can’t start taking out the roster as you see fit.  Malo, hell, he’s a nobody so no one cares about him but you just took out a main event star.  I know that you and Cena want a fight and you will get one…I can promise you that.”  Brock takes the mic from Hogan.  “GM, MAKE this happen.  I will dispose of Cena and then I will be going after MY World title again.”  Brock drops the mic and leaves.  The segment ends as the “suits” get John to calm down enough to leave the ring. 

The show (finally) starts with Mr. Anderson taking on Tajiri.  Tajiri and Anderson were putting on a solid show until about the 11 minute mark, Prestige Inc. member Magnus comes out to the stage.  Tajiri sees him and is totally thrown off his game.  Anderson takes advantage and at the 20.55 mark, Ken hits the Kenton Bomb and gets the 1-2-3.  Anderson leaves the ring and Tajiri is visibly upset.  Magnus smirks as he accomplished what he wanted to and leaves.

Next up, Heath Slater makes his way to the ring.  He talks about not getting air time so he was taking it upon himself to get him to the upper echelon.  He is interrupted by Big E Langston who comes down for a match.  It looks like this one is approved so the bell rings.  Surprisingly, Slater stayed toe to toe with the big man..for about 5 minutes.  After that, Big E pummeled him.  Langston took Slater out of the ring and repeatedly body slammed him on the floor about 5 times.  He rolled back in the ring as the 10 count was made and Big E gets the win.  The fans seemed confused as to if Big E was a face (good guy) or heel (bad guy).  (6 min)

In the back, ‘the all-American’ Jack Swagger is being interviewed and he says that Rusev is disrespecting the country that pays his check, approves his Visa and the title he holds – the Elitist title.  Tonight, he is getting a shot to take the Bulgarian Bully down a notch and take the Elitist title for his own. 

Next up, out comes Cactus Jackie and she says she’s tired of being ignored and she wants her Diva’s title back.  Alicia Fox comes out and says she begs to differ and that if Jackie wants a shot at the Diva’s champion, she has to go through her.  For the first 10 minutes, Alicia Fox controlled the tempo of the match.  It wasn’t until Jackie nailed a dust devil DDT that Alicia came off her game.  Jackie took advantage by working on the neck, arms and back of Fox.  At the 16 minute mark, Jackie locked Alicia in the desert stretch and using the ropes for leverage, she got Alicia to tap out.  The Caped Crusader made his way out and the fans popped.  The Crusader said that Jackie cheated for this win and should be brought to justice.  Jackie dared him to hit her.  The Crusader said “It is not appropriate for any woman to be hit by a man even if she is Poison Ivy or Harley Quinn.  Since I am not able to exact justice here, I brought in someone who will.”  The Batman music plays and out comes a woman dressed as “Batgirl” from the 60’s TV show.  She runs out and Jackie attacks her but Ms. Crusader hits Jackie with the Wam!Bam!Pow! and Jackie bails.  The Caped Crusader gets in the ring and raises the hand of Ms. Crusader (we’ll call her that for now until we get her name) much to the delight of the fans. (16 min)

We cut to the back again for another interview and this time it is with Dirk ‘the Pick’ Devon.  He is accompanied by Rocky Lapetus who just stands there.  “Axe, I’ve carried you all this time and all you’ve done is make my life that much harder.  You need to be sent away for good and I can promise you that the next time you and I are in the ring, I’ll make sure you suffer in ways never imagined.  Then, once and for all, I’ll be done with you.  Let’s go Rocky.”  Dirk and Rocky then leave.  Rocky stops like he has something to say and Dirk yells “Let’s GO Rocky.”  Rocky follows Dirk out.

We head back to the ring for more action.  The next match is Kofi Kingston taking on the hitman Psycho Jack Hercules.  These two battled for a full 30 minutes and I think it would have gone longer if the time limit had not expired.   Kofi controlled the entire match but could not pin Psycho Jack.  After the match, Jack drops Kofi with a hangman into a reverse DDT.  Jack leaves but Kofi gets up pretty quick and goes after him. (30 min)

Our next match is Professor Cobra taking on Sami Zayn in a rematch.  Zayn was in control for the first 13 minutes of the match and then after missing a swanton bomb, Cobra took over and dazzled Zayn with strikes and chops.  A cheap shot from Zayn followed by a spike brainbuster ended Cobra’s offense.  Zayn gets the win in 24 minutes.

In the back, Rusev promises he will destroy anyone who tries to take his title away starting with Jack Swagger.

Our semi main event has Kane taking on Roman Reigns.  Reigns was beating the holy hell out of Kane.  Kane throws Reigns out of the ring and nails a chokeslam on the floor.  He then picks him up and nails a tombstone piledriver.  Kane rolls in and beats the 10 count getting the (cheap) win.  Reigns no-sells his attack and flies into the ring and nails Kane with the superman punch.  Kane retreats quickly leaving a pissed off Reigns stewing in the ring.

The match starts before the bell even rings as Rusev and Swagger are battling back and forth on their way to the ring.  Rusev slams Swagger’s head into the steel steps as well as the ringside post.  He then nailed the Accolade and leaves Swagger in a heap.  Rusev climbs into the ring and tells the ref to start counting.  The ref reaches 10 and counts Swagger (down and) out.  Reid Rothchild runs down and starts to brawl with the Bulgarian Bully.   Rusev nails Reid with the Accolade and proceeds to tie him in the corner.  The Diva’s Champion Ravishing Raquel runs down and jumps on Rusev’s back.  Rusev unceremoniously dumps Raquel off and then threatens to go after her.  Rusev picks her up and just as he is about to hit her with the Accolade, King Damian Sandow and Magnus run out for the save.  Rusev bails.  Reid is screaming.  Sandow and Magnus check on Raquel and then help to get Reid free from his restraints.  Reid grabs a mic “RUSEV, you put your hands on MY Wife…You have just signed your own death certificate.  HOGAN…I want this match and I want it NOW.”  GM Hulk Hogan comes out and tries to calm Reid down.  “Listen Brother…I agree him putting his hands on a woman is uncalled for.  I need the two of you both to take time off.  Rusev and Reid, you both will be off until October.  Take a break, go on vacation, whatever.  Your match will be in a Hell in a Cell at the Revenge PPV next month so bottle it for now.  I want your match to blow the damn roof off the place, brother.”  Hogan then thanked everyone for coming out and ended the show.

HWF/CSWA Wrestling Newsletter 2014 – 09.06

Hello fans and welcome to our latest newsletter.  Today’s show takes place in Boston, MA.  The Hulkster makes his way out to start off the show but he doesn’t incite the crowd as he’s done in the past.  In fact, he even came out without his meat shield.  “Fans in Boston and all over the world, the Hulkster is here to bring you the action and excitement that comes with the performers in the CSWA and HWF.  We have a full card for you tonight so without further ado, let’s get this party started.”  Hulk then left the stage as pyro went off to start off the show.

The first match of the night is for the Hardcore title.  The challenger Tornado en Fuego makes his way out accompanied by his tag team partner El Dragon Insano.  Before the match could begin, the Omegatron comes on and there, in a full body cast lying in a hospital bed is Malo Leche de Mantequilla.  “You, Flyers, I know this was your doing.  You wanted me out of the Cartel and when I tried to expose your deceit to the world, you fed me to the monster that is Brock Lesnar.  My pain and suffering will be your pain and suffering.  I can promise you that.  When I return, there will be hell to pay.” 

The video feed ends and the hardcore champ Jay Lethal makes his way out to the ring.  This one is set up as ECW rules which means that the title can change on a count out or a DQ.  This one is relatively short as Lethal was mopping the floor with Tornado until Jay got hit by the whirlwind (thrown out of the ring) and El Dragon Insano caught the champ mid-air and nailed a nasty powerslam.  Lethal ends up getting counted out at the 2:35 mark and loses the match…and the title.  Hulk Hogan comes out and says he wants this to be best of 3 so the next fall continues now but now El Dragon Insano is banned from rightside and he must leave now.    Lethal battles back for the next 15 minutes but Tornado en Fuego stays right with him.  As soon as the clock hit the 16 minute mark, Lethal put Tornado down and laid a chair on him.  He goes to the top rope and nails the Macho Elbow right onto the chair laying on Tornado.  Lethal discards the chair and makes the cover getting the 1-2-3.  Now we are down to the rubber match.  This third fall was pretty even with Tornado standing tall against the champ.  Since this was only a 30 minute time limit and time was running out fast, Tornado did something unexpected.  He took a page from MW3’s playbook and nailed the MW2 kneelift.  It hit the mark but he was slow to make the cover.  The ref counted 1…2…and the bell rang signaling the end of the match.  Jay Lethal retains his title in probably his hardest fought match to date.  Tornado get a pop from the crowd when he leaves and the champ does also after he makes it to his feet.

Next match up is Gail Kim taking on Fusion Valentine.  Gail is still not happy after losing the Women’s title and she says she will use Fusion as a stepping stone to get her title back.  The challenger, however, had a different plan and she took the match to the former champion.  In 8 minutes, Fusion nails Gail with a Chilean drop moonsault and pins Gail in the middle of the ring.  Fusion Valentine is moving up the ranks.

In the back, Undisputed and HWF World Champion Bray Wyatt was addressing his opponent for tonight Bad News Wade Barrett.  He told Barrett that the only ‘bad news’ from tonight will be when Barrett leaves empty handed.

The next match on the card is Daniel Bryan taking on Curtis Axel.  In a very hard fought match going 21 action packed minutes, Bryan ends up getting the win after he was pounding on Axel with MMA strikes and Axel actually tapped out.

We cut to the back again and this time, we see Rockstar Spud and ECIII mocking the Tag Team roster.  Sanada walks by and they mock him too.  He is followed by Kenta who receives the same.  Kenta tells Spud that if he thinks the two of them are so great, maybe they need to take him on…and Sanada.  Sanada nods his head in acceptance and we have another match for tonight.

Back to the ring and we have Big Show taking on Jeff Hardy.  For 11 minutes, Show was tossing Hardy around like a rag doll.  Just past the 12 minute mark, Hardy dumped Show out of the ring and then in what was supposed to be funny, he hog tied Show with the cables around the ring.  Show struggled but he was not able to get back in the ring before the 10 count.  Hardy gets the CO win and after Show freed himself, Hardy took off like a scaled dog to avoid the ire of the Giant.

We head back to the ring for tag team action with Rockstar Spud and ECIII making their way out to the ring taunting the fans all along the way.  They are then followed by the new team of Sanada and Kenta.  This one almost goes the distance with the new team of Sanada and Kenta whipping the white off of ECIII and Spud but neither would tap or keep the shoulders down for a full 3 count.  At the 27 minute mark, Kenta nails ECIII with a superkick sending him flying.  Sanada nails a Tiger Suplex and makes the cover for the 1-2-3.  ECIII tries to attack after the bell but Kenta and Sanada corner him and then send him flying over the top rope.  The fans seem pleased with our newest edition to the tag team roster.

In the back, Christian is being interviewed and says he’s a bit disappointed that he hasn’t been able to secure a world title win and says the Captain Charisma should be the champ.  In walks the newest member of the Shield Ryback.  Ryback says Christian talks a big game.  Christian tells Ryback to put his money where his mouth is.  Ryback shoves Christian before saying he’ll see him in the ring.

Back to the ring and we have both Professor Cobra and Sami Zayn in the ring.  This was the shortest match of the night and Cobra didn’t look to be in a good mood.  Zayn starts off with a dropkick and Cobra hurls him out of the ring.  He nails Zayn with a Cobra strike and Zayn goes down.  Cobra stands over Zayn until almost the 9 count to make sure Sami doesn’t get up and rolls back just in time to beat the 10 count.  Cobra gets a win in just under a minute.

Ryback power walks down to the ring and shoulder butts Cobra as he was walking by.  Ryback never gives him a second look.  Sami Zayn was still trying to get up and Ryback walks over to him and nails the Meathook.  He then drags him back up the ramp and deposits him on the stage.  Christian comes out and charges Ryback in the ring.  Captain Charisma goes toe to toe with the Shield member and in 12 minutes, nails Ryback with an inverted DDT and gets the win.  After the match, Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose run down and attack Christian.  This then prompts the all-familiar Bat-tune to play and dropping from the ceiling is the Caped Crusader.  He lands in the ring and nails all 3 members of the Shield with the Wam! Bam! Pow!  He shakes the hand of Christian and they leave together.

The show has begun to ramp up as we head into our main event with the HWF World Heavyweight title held by Bray Wyatt taking on ‘Bad News’ Wade Barrett.  Barrett makes his way to the ring.  The lights go out and a single spotlight shines on Bray sitting on the stage in his rocking chair.  Bray reminds us that all of his title matches are specialty and he says tonight, Barrett actually gets to choose the stipulation.  Barrett chooses a ‘British Boot Camp’ match and Bray makes his way to the ring.  Bray began by beating the tar out of Barrett with a British military boot.  They traded blows for the next 4 minutes.  Bray and Wade then ended up battling on the outside of the ring.  Both men tried to climb the ring post but it was Bray who got the upper hand by hitting a Suplex from the ring to the announcers table.  Barrett is hurt and as the medical team came down, they signaled to the ref that the match was over.  The ref rings the bell saying that Barrett is unable to continue and awards the match to Bray since Barrett was not able to continue.  Bray celebrates in the ring and the fans throw junk into the ring showing their displeasure.  The match ends with Bray cackling as he is getting pelted by miscellaneous junk.

HWF/CSWA Wrestling Newsletter 2014 – 09.05

Hello fans and welcome back to our newsletter.  Today’s issue comes to you LIVE and in person here at Madison Square Garden in good ol’ New York City.   Hulk Hogan, GM extraordinaire, makes his way out to start off the show.  “Welcome to everyone here and watching from home.  The Hulkster is in the house, brother.  We have a tremendous show for you and top performers bringing you in on the action as no others can.  The best of the best performing in the house that started it all.  With that out of the way, let’s get this show underway.”

Pyro goes off and we have our first match.  The Mexicali Flyers come out but this is a singles match.  El Dragon Insano makes his way to the ring followed by his tag team partner Tornado en Fuego.  It appears that his opponent for this match is the Hardcore champion Jay Lethal.  This one is set up as a falls count anywhere match.  El Dragon took the match to the champ and then some for a whopping 27 minutes.  Jay Lethal somehow manages to nail the Lethal Combination and rolls up El Dragon for the 1-2-3.  Jay Lethal retains his title in a hard fought victory.  Tornado en Fuego then throws out a challenge to the Hardcore champion who accepts and says at the next show, he will get what is coming to him.

We cut to the back where we see the Tag Team Champions VamChango.  They talk about their run as the tag champs and promise their run will continue after they beat the Shield tonight…here…live in Madison Square Garden.

We go back to the ring where the Caped Crusader is already there waiting for his opponent Mike Bennett.  Bennett makes his way to the ring but takes his time getting into the ring.  Bennett beat down the Crusader for 10 whole minutes until the Miz made his way down.  Miz distracted the Crusader who was climbing to the top turnbuckle.  Bennett goes and grabs him and nails a wristlock sitout sideslam.  He makes the cover and gets the 1-2-3.  Bennett gloats in the ring and Miz jumps in and starts to kick the Crusader.  Assistance comes from a very unlikely source as Mark Henry makes his way down and chases off Miz and Bennett.  Henry helps the Crusader to his feet but he doesn’t stick around.  He leaves immediately.  Crusader makes it to the back on his own.  (11 min)

We go back to the interview area where Shield members Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose promise that they will be winning the Tag Team titles tonight and there is nothing VamChango or the 719 Cartel can do about it.

The Shield make their way to the ring and are followed by the champions.  Not sure what happened but the Shield never got their act together. El Chango and Senor Vampiro were a very well-oiled machine and showed everyone why there were the champions.  The champs schooled the Shield and after a great performance, El Chango nails Seth Rollins with the Diamond Dust and scores the pin.  The 719 Cartel members Rey Rey and the Mexicali Flyers came out to celebrate with their teammates.  (16 min)

We cut to the back where Randy Orton is promising to put the Undertaker to rest once and for all and take the CSWA World title has his own.

Rusev walks by and says that when he beats Reid tonight, he will be renaming the title to something more appropriate for the Bulgarian Behemoth. 

Back to the ring and another title match is ready to start.  Spider Violet makes her way out. She is followed by the Diva’s champion Ravishing Raquel.  This one will be a best of 3 falls match.  Fall #1 goes to Spider Violet who nailed Raquel with a nasty looking flying clothesline and rolled her up (with feet on the ropes) for the 1-2-3.  (7 min).  Fall #2 goes to Raquel who throws Spider out of the ring and Spider stayed outside the ring getting counted out.  She didn’t realize that this was best of 3 falls and now we are down to the final fall.  The bell rings and the two battle like everything in the world was at stake.  The match goes 16 minutes which rounds out the 30 minute time limit and the third fall is a draw.  Raquel walks away with her title intact.  Spider Violet nails her with a superkick and follows it up with a diving bulldog.  She tells Raquel this isn’t over and she’ll be getting another shot again…soon.

John Cena and Samoa Joe are having a stare down.  The two promise to put on a show like no other and will tear the house down.

John Cena makes his way down first followed by Samoa Joe.  The two have a pretty aggressive match which John Cena controlled for the majority of the battle.  In an act of desperation, Joe nails a muscle buster on Cena and at the 11 minute mark, gets the win.  Joe helps Cena to his feet and the two shake hands.  Joe goes to leave and Brock Lesnar runs in from the crowd and blasts John Cena.  He nails John with 2 consecutive F-5’s and leaves the master of thuganomics laying in a broken heap.

As soon as the ring is cleared, the next match is for the CSWA World title with challenger Randy Orton – the Viper taking on champion the Undertaker.  Where the Cena/Joe match and the aftermath that followed got the audience excited, this one put everyone to sleep.  It only took 4 minutes and with Undertaker and Orton battling on the outside of the ring, Orton misses with an RKO and Undertaker nails the Last Ride on Orton through a table.  Undertaker beats the 10 count and gets the win via countout (4 min).

For the main event, The Elitist Reid Rothchild w/ Diva’s Champion Ravishing Raquel start to walk down to the ring.  Following them is their Prestige Inc. teammates King Damian Sandow and Magnus.  Sandow, Magnus and Raquel all take a seat at ringside.  The Elitist Champion Alexander Rusev makes his way down.  He motions that he will break Reid in half.  He gets into the ring and Reid goes right after him.  Rusev and Reid are eventually separated so the match could begin.  GM Hulk Hogan comes out and says that this match will be specialty match.  He pulls out a bag and draws a match type and it is a “coleminers glove” match.  Rusev controlled the entire match but Reid would not lay down.  Surprisingly, the glove never got used as the ref kept it away from both men; not sure why.  The two battled for 30 minutes and the match was called a draw.  Rusev began to showboat and taunt Prestige Inc. until Reid jumped up and nailed the champ with a stunner.  Hogan came down (not happy the glove didn’t get used).  “Hogan, nothing was settled tonight.  Here is what I propose.  At the October PPV Revenge: Day of Reckoning, Reid Rothchild vs Alexander Rusev in a Hell in a Cell.  If I lose, I will NEVER challenge for this title again.”  Hogan thought it over and said “You got it Brother.”  Rusev, who managed to roll out of the ring and start limping towards the back stopped to confront Hogan but Hogan ordered the Bulgarian Bully to the back. 

It looks like the October PPV is starting to shape up.  Stay tuned as things are only heating up.

HWF/CSWA Wrestling Newsletter 2014 – 09.04

Hello fans and welcome back to our newsletter.  We continue our East coast run as we head to Philadelphia, PA for our next event.  The show begins with “The Elitist” Reid Rothchild making his way to the ring.  He is accompanied by fellow Prestige Inc. members King Damian Sandow, Magnus and the Diva’s Champion Ravishing Raquel.  Reid starts off “Rusev, you’ve been running around saying you put me out.  Well, guess what, you didn’t.  In fact, the loss of my title has made me more focused and ready to challenge you at the next show in New York at Madison Square Garden for my title.”  He is then cut off as the Elitist Champion Alexander Rusev comes out and stands on the stage.  “You don’t know when to cower and run away do you?  Do I have to break every bone in your body for you to know that you have NO chance against me?  I am smart enough to say that you have no chance against me so I refuse.  You won’t beat me so it doesn’t matter.”  Rusev begins to leave when GM Hulk Hogan comes out.  “Just a minute, Brother.  You may do things differently in Bulgaria, but here in the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, (cheap pop) you need to put up or shut up.  You WILL be fighting Reid at MSG at that title WILL be on the line.  Have fun, Brother.”  (editors note:  Not sure where Hogan was going with this but he wanted some fan support so I guess he got what he wanted.)  Reid and Prestige left the ring.

The first match of the night is the Axe taking on Kazarian.  These two had a good solid outing with Axe being in control for 13 minutes until Dirk ‘the Pick’ Devon made his way out.  The distraction threw Axe off his game.  Kazarian takes advantage of the distraction and nails the Axe with the Wave of the Future and makes the cover for the 1, 2, 3.   Dirk looks on and shakes his head in bemusement and then walks away. (15 min)

Next on the card is Bo Dallas taking on Conan Jones.  At the beginning of the match, Bo takes the mic and tells Conan that he needs to “BO-Leave” that Jones will get a loss tonight.  Bo didn’t disappoint as he beat the snot out of Conan.  Jones, did however, manage to trap Bo in a guillotine choke and got Bo to tap out.  WOW.  After all that, Jones gets himself another win.  Jones may be working his way back up to a title shot of some kind.  After the match, Bo hits a double underhook facebuster and leaves Conan laying in the ring.  (15 min)

Next up we have Natalya taking on Angelina Love to see who will be working towards a title shot.  Angelina took the match to Nattie and basically schooled her the entire match.  Angelina nails a Suplex and with her feet on the ropes, she gets the win.  (16 min)

We cut to the back where Brock is pacing.  Brock walks over to the camera and says that he destroyed Malo Leche and his next victim will be John Cena. 

Speaking of Malo Leche de Mantequilla, we’ve determined he was taken to ICU and he will remain there for some time.  I guess that’s what you get when you talk smack to Brock Lesnar.

Next on the card is tag team action with Beer Money taking on the Colon’s.  This one was totally controlled by Roode and Storm and after a lengthy beat down, Bobby finishes Epico off with the Roode Awakening.  They are surely heading in the right direction if they are looking for another tag team title shot. (16 min)

Miz makes his way out and starts off by blaming everyone else for his losses – from Dolph Ziggler to the Caped Crusader.  Roderick Strong makes his way out and says that maybe the Miz is losing is because he just plain sucks.  Miz invites Strong into the ring and we have ourselves another match. 

 

Strong never had a chance. Miz beat the holy hell out of him for 10 minutes (yep, you guessed it, cheating all along the way).  Miz makes the cover after delivering numerous kicks to his fallen foe and gets the win.  This travesty brings out the Caped Crusader who starts to make his way to the ring but he is attacked by Mike Bennett.  Bennett kicks Crusader a few times and then nails a wristlock sitout side slam.   Miz comes over to join in the fun and nails the Crusader with the Skull Crushing Finale. Both men stand with their arms raised and then leave. (10 min)

The show is beginning to wind down and Madison Rayne makes her way out and calls down the Women’s Champion Velvet Sky. Rayne tells Sky she wants a title shot; nay, deservers a title shot and she is cashing that request in now.  Rayne stands up to the champ and matches her blow for blow for 11 solid minutes.  Velvet nails the Beauty Mark and then makes to cover to get the win.  Velvet Sky retains the Women’s title. (12 min)

We cut to the back where we see the Caped Crusader being attended to.  The Crusader asks for a mic. “Mike Bennett, you prevented me from exacting Justice.  The fact that you got in my way puts you on my radar.  Miz, I will deal with you in the future but for now, Bennett, at MSG, Justice will be served.”

We head back to the ring for our main event.  Bobby Lashley will be taking on Chris Jericho.  This one was truly a match to behold.  Bobby tried to use his strength to his advantage but the experience of Jericho kept the two on a level playing field.  After nailing a Dominator on Jericho, the tide turned in the former MMA fighter’s favor. Bobby kept Chris on the defense for the remainder of the match and just past the 18 minute mark, Bobby nails another Dominator and covers Jericho for the 1-2-3.  After the match, both men shook hands and celebrated with the fans as the show came to a close.

HWF/CSWA Wrestling Newsletter 2014 – 09.03

Hello fans and welcome back to our newsletter.  Today’s episode comes from Baltimore, MD.  In a surprising move, GM Hulk Hogan does NOT start off the show.  Instead, we are treated to a backstage event.  What we see is someone approaching a door that has the name “Brock Lesnar” on it.  The person puts something on the floor and knocks.  They leave before Brock answers.  He opens the door and curses when no one is there but he looks down and sees a box.  He takes the box with him.  The camera man follows him in.  Brock opens the box and inside is a DVD.  He puts it in the player and what he sees makes him shake his head in disbelief.  Malo Leche de Mantequilla is being interviewed and he says “Brock Lesnar is a joke.  He may be something in the octagon but here, in our ring, he’s nothing.  Hell, Bobby Lashley beat the crap out of him and look at where he is now.”  Brock stands up and kicks the DVD player and the TV.  He storms out of the dressing room.  Uh Oh.

We cut to the ring for our first match.  Kevin Steen is on hand and he is wrestling the Aztec Warrior.  As we mentioned in the past, this guy is a dead ringer for Alberto Del Rio (who by the way is supposed to be out of the HWF/CSWA).  Steen comes out first followed by Aztec Warrior.  As Aztec is making his way down to the ring, GM Hulk Hogan runs up from behind and yanks off the mask of the Aztec Warrior revealing him to be Alberto Del Rio.  “I KNEW it was you, Del Rio.  You are banned from working here.  You need to leave right this very minute.”  Del Rio yanked the mic from Hogan’s hand.  “You know, Hogan, I could sue you right now for discrimination and a hostile work environment.  You and your A-team – you can all go right to HELL.”  Del Rio storms out and the fans are applauding his attitude.  Hogan can’t understand the fans reaction so he says “Oh shut the hell up.  Send someone else down for this match.”  Hogan then leaves.

Hogan makes it to the back and says that each and every match will be a “drawn at random” match.  He will pick who gets to wrestle who (as he feels he knows what is best for business).

Prestige Inc. member King Damian Sandow comes out and says he’ll take the match.  The match is dominated by his Royalness and in 11 minutes, Sandow gets the pin after hitting a swinging neckbreaker.

Next up is a match for the Intercontinental title held by Dolph Ziggler and he is taking on Bran-Don-Goh.  B comes out and fans are holding signs that say “I only want to win” (in reference to the last time he won a title).  B put up a hell of a fight but was no match for the champ.  Ziggler gets the win after hitting the Zig Zag bulldog at the 24 minute mark.

Next up is a 10 man match which puts Hogan’s CWO (Corporate World Order) comprised of the A-Team (Adam Rose, Austin Aries, Antonio Cesaro & Abyss) plus Dirk “the Pick” Devon taking on the 719 Cartel comprised of the Mexicali Flyers, World Tag Champs VamChango and Rey Rey).   The ref said there were too many people for this match so the Flyers and Abyss/Devon were told to sit this one out.  This of course didn’t keep Abyss from getting involved.  El Chango got thrown out of the ring and Abyss nailed a nasty Black Hole Slam on the concrete.  El Chango was not able to beat the count and the A-Team gets the win in 10 minutes. 

The A-Team was sent away along with Rey Rey and VamChango and that left the Mexicali Flyers to take on Abyss and Dirk Devon.  In 21 minutes, the Flyers did what the other Cartel members could not and that was get a win.   Tornado en Fuego gets the pin on Dirk after hitting a Dragonscrew leg whip.

In the back, Samoa Joe and John Cena are having a staredown.  Joe says that the last time they met, it ended way too soon.  Cena agreed and offered Joe a rematch at MSG in New York.  Joe accepted.  They glared at each other for a moment before separating.

Jay Lethal comes out to defend his Hardcore title and his opponent today is Brad Maddox.  In 22 minutes, Lethal gets the win via knockout after Maddox could not get back to his feet after a 10 count.  Jay Lethal retains his title.

Goldust w/ Stardust comes out to take on David Otunga.  After taking a beating for 10 minutes, the Golden one battled back and with some encouraging words from his brother, he gets the win at the 25 minute mark after hitting Otunga with a golden slam.

Brock Lesnar makes his way down to the ring with someone slung over his shoulder.  Hey, it’s Malo Leche de Mantequilla.   Malo got in a little offense but that was only because Brock felt sorry for him.  Brock basically pummeled Malo for 20 minutes hitting multiple F-5’s, powerslams and powerbombs.  At the 20 minute mark, Brock hits the final powerbomb and mercifully pins Malo.  He brushes himself off, wipes the sweat and blood (Malo’s, not his) from his body, smears it on Malo and leaves.  EMT’s are standing by and help Malo out of the ring and stretcher him to the ambulance waiting in the back.

As the crew clean the ring from the massacre that just transpired, Prestige Inc. (King Damian Sandow, Magnus and Reid Rothchild w/Ravishing Raquel) comes down for their 6 Man tag team title shot against Wyatt’s Warriors (Centurion, Warrior of Truth and Super Warrior).  This match was basically even for the entire 16 minutes it went on.  All men got their chance to shine but it was the Warrior of Truth who was able to get a pin on Magnus with a sitout gourdbuster.  After the match, Rusev and team attack Prestige Inc and the champs with Rusev hitting haymakers on everyone.  Rusev hits a double chokeslam on Super Warrior and Reid Rothchild at the same time bringing the show to a close.

HWF/CSWA Wrestling Newsletter 2014 – 09.02

Hello Wrestling Fans and welcome back to our newsletter.  Today we are reporting on our show which took place in Washington, DC.  The show begins with the all-too-familiar music of Jimi Hendrix blaring through the loudspeakers and GM Hulk Hogan makes his way down to the ring accompanied by his meat shield.  He takes a mic.  “The Hulkster is in the house, brother!  We’ve completed the roster shake up and that means you are in for some interesting matches.”  He is then interrupted by the New Shield (Ryback, Ambrose and Rollins) who make their way down to the ring.  Ambrose tells Hogan that they are worthy of the next 6 man tag team title shot.  Hogan then says that so is another team and calls out his CWO A-Team (Austin Aries, Antonio Cesaro and Adam Rose w/ Abyss) and says so his is team.  Hogan sets up a match and then leaves.

A brief fight breaks out before the ref restores order.  The bell rings and we have ourselves a match.   In a 14 minute match, Aries gets the pin on Dean Ambrose after hitting him with a Pendulum elbow smash.  Hogan appears on stage and seems extremely pleased with his team’s win in a very impressive match.

The Axe makes his way out to the ring and calls out former “band” member Dirk ‘the Pick’ Devon.  Dirk makes his way down but stops short of entering the ring.  Axe wants to know why Dirk turned his back on their team and break up the ‘band’…again.  Rocky Lapetus makes his way down and joins Dirk on the ramp.  Rocky takes the mic “Axe, we’ve had to cover your shortcomings for weeks now and it just isn’t working out. Dirk needs to separate himself from you.  The Pick has his sights set once again on singles titles and he promises he will hold one of those titles again.”  While this is going on, Psycho Jack Hercules sneaks into the ring and attacks Axe.  Dirk rushes the ring and helps with the beatdown until Roman Reigns runs out and clears house.  Axe shakes his partner’s hand and they leave the ring with Dirk Devon and Psycho Jack laid out behind them.

Our next match is up with Intercontinental Champion Dolph Ziggler taking on Sanada in a cross-promotion match.  Sanada heads to the ring wearing an elaborate robe (ala the 80’s Ric Flair and Macho Man Randy Savage) and his robe says “The Great Sanada” on the back.  The champ makes his way to the ring and the match begins.  The match is relatively short as Ziggler gets the win in 5 minutes after locking in a handstand head lock.  Both men shake hands afterwards.

Prestige Inc. member Magnus comes out and calls down Tajiri.  He says they have unfinished business and wants him in the ring.  Tajiri obliges but is accompanied by Alexander Rusev and Bad News Barrett.  Magnus was able to hold his own but with Rusev and Barrett at ringside constantly interfering, it just became too much.  In 15 minutes, Tajiri spits a green mist (ala Great Muta) into Magnus’ face and rolled him up for the 1-2-3.  Rusev and Barrett jump in the ring to continue the beatdown and then Reid Rothchild and King Damian Sandow run down to even the odds.  Rusev and his team bails leaving Prestige Inc. behind. 

Back at Hogan’s office, he receives a knock on the door and a new guy walks in.  “Hello Mr. Hogan. I’m interested in a job here and would love to perform.”  Hogan stands up.  “What’s your name, brother?”  The new guy straightens his shirt and says “I’m called ‘Droopy Balls’ Donovan”.  Hogan stares in disbelief “What kind of STUPID ASS name is that?  You know, Droopy, let me show you something.”  He walks over and puts his arm around Droopy.  They walk to the door. “Don’t let this hit you in the ‘balls’ on your way out” and slams the door in his face.  Another bad gimmick squashed before it got started.  Thanks Hulkster!

Eric Young (EY) makes his way out to the ring and says he’s happy to be in the CSWA.  So happy, in fact, that he feels that he’ll get a better shake here.  He calls down US Champ AJ Styles and puts Styles over as one of the best in the business.  He asks if he could get a shot at the title and AJ agrees.  This one went for a good clip but EY really never mounted much of an offense.  In 19 minutes, AJ gets the win with an armlock facebuster.  The two shake hands after the match.

‘Bad News’ Wade Barrett comes out as the last match ended and told EY as he was leaving that his bad news is that he sucks and will never amount to anything.  Barrett then calls down X-Division Champion Casey Jones and tells him that there is more bad news coming and that is Jones will be losing his title tonight.  “Sorry about your damn luck” Barrett yells as the champ makes his way to the ring for their match.  In a 17 minute ass-kicking, Barrett locks Casey in an abdominal stretch and with help from the ropes, he gets Casey to tap out.  Wade Barrett has just defeated Casey for the title but the ref informs him that it is ‘best of 3 falls’ and the match continues now.  The second fall goes just 8 minutes with Casey battling back like a man on a mission.  He hits Wade with a strikeout headbutt and gets the pin.  Now, we go on for the 3^rd and final fall.  This one was over before it begun.  Wade nails a big boot and Casey goes down.  Wade then goes over and removes the turnbuckle cover exposing the metal underneath.  Wade goes to throw Casey into the corner but it is reverse and Wade smashes into the exposed metal and then flips over the top rope crashing to the floor below.  The ref counts but Wade cannot get back in before the 10 count.  The ref counts to 10 and Bad News is counted out awarding the match to Casey Jones.  Casey takes his title and leaves before a pissed off Brit has a chance to attack the champ.   

Next up is the Women’s Champion Velvet Sky taking on Nikki Bella.  In 13 minutes, Velvet retains her title after hitting Nikki with a wrist clutch stomp.  Nikki was not happy with the outcome but oh well.

Our next match is a tag team version with the Uso’s (Jimmy and Jey) taking on Robbie E and Rob Terry.  This one was controlled by the Samoan team for about 8 minutes and then after that, Team Rob wiped the mat with their opponents. This one went the full distance with lots of double teaming.  Just when we thought this one was going to end in a time limit draw, Rob Terry nails a shoulder tackle from the top rope and with seconds to spare, gets the 1-2-3.  Team Rob is victorious.

John Cena makes his way down and says how good it is to be in the HWF – the home of the greatest wrestlers in the world.  Cena starts to talk about his road to the World title when his is interrupted by none other than Brock Lesnar.  Brock gets in his face and says that he is the uncrowned champion and if John has any hopes of going after a World title, he would have to go through the ULTIMATE tough guy.  Brock tells John that if he really wants a title, he should go after something more his style – like the IC belt.  This draws a “oh no you didn’t” reaction from the crowd and John is, surprisingly, speechless.  Brock yells “This is MY house.  You, a stranger, don’t let yourself in when you’re not invited.  John, you are NOT wanted here.  Go back to the CSWA and the minor leagues.”  This draws another “oh no you didn’t” reaction from the fans.  Brock slaps Cena across the face and John attacks the Beast but Brock hurls him right out of the ring.  John grabs a mic “You know Brock, I’m going to continue with what Bobby Lashley started and that is kicking your MMA ass.  He left to go to the HWF because he was tired of beating you day in and day out.  You want me to go back to the CSWA?  Well, maybe once I’ve embarrassed you like he did, then maybe I will.”  This enraged the Beast and he and Cena brawled all the way to the back.

The Elitist Champion Alexander Rusev is in the back being interviewed.  He says he is done with Reid Rothchild and is now setting his sights on the top prize – the CSWA World Title.  Rusev calls the Undertaker washed up and it is time, not for Taker to pass the torch but for Rusev to TAKE the torch and he will pry it out of the dead man’s hand if he has to.  He then leaves for the ring for our main event.

Alexander Rusev makes his way to the ring for his title match against the Undertaker.  Just before the match can begin, out comes Reid Rothchild who stays up on stage much to this dislike of Rusev.  This does exactly what it’s supposed to and that is put Rusev off his game.  Undertaker beat the snot out of the Elitist Champion and after executing only 4 offensive moves in 15 minutes, Undertaker finishes off his challenger with a chokeslam.  Undertaker retains the title and leaves immediately.  Reid Rothchild makes his way down and stares at the laughable situation as Rusev is beaten.  Reid says “That is only the beginning.   I’m taking my title back.”  Rusev pops up surprisingly quick but Reid nails a Rothchild stunner and Rusev is back down again.  Reid leaves to a nice pop from the fans to end this show.

HWF/CSWA Wrestling Newsletter 2014 – 09.01

Hello fans and welcome to our first newsletter for the month of September.  After taking a much needed day off for Labor Day, we wind up in Richmond, VA for the next show.

The cameras begin rolling as Donnie B and Jeff Meyers arrive with lawyers, the local police and GM Hulk Hogan.  They wander around the back until they find Malo Leche de Mantequilla.  They approach Malo and Donnie B asks Malo to drop the suit.  Malo refuses so Donnie B hands Malo pictures of his own…showing Malo unmasked!  Malo screams “where did you get those?” Meyers tells Malo to drop his blackmail immediately or the pictures will be revealed and the lawyers and police on hand will take immediate action.  Malo stares at the pictures (we don’t get to see them so we don’t know his identity) and he submits.  The lawyers make Malo Leche sign some legal documentation that he can never reveal the identities of the Mexicali Flyers and if he does, not only will he face fines but jail time as well.  Malo looks at Donnie B and says “Always holding someone down, aren’t you?”  The police, lawyers and Donnie B and Jeff Meyers all walk away.  Hogan remains behind.  “Listen Brother…there are ways of information being leaked that don’t have to tie back to you.   Think about that…brother.”  Hogan then leaves and heads to the stage leaving Malo to ponder on what just transpired.

GM Hulk Hogan appears on stage and in his briefest of soliloquies, says that the draft will take place at the end of the show.  He then leaves so the show can begin.

Our first match has Robbie E and Rob Terry challenging Shield members Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins to see who gets the next tag team title shot.   The match goes for 25 minutes and saw ‘Team Rob’ actually control the match against the Shield.  That may have had to do with Roman Reigns coming out for the distraction.  At different points of the match, Reigns nailed the Superman punch on both Ambrose and Rollins.   In the end, Rob Terry gets the pin on Seth Rollins after hitting a running powerslam.  ‘Team Rob’ is in line for the next tag team title shot against VamChango.

In the back, HWF World Champion Batista is complaining about the lack of talent in the HWF – at least anyone worthy of a title shot.  Bray Wyatt walks over and says he never got a rematch.  Batista gloats “Listen, little man, I’ve beaten you at your own game (specialty match) and will do it again if you want.  I will annihilate you a second time and if I don’t, I’ll leave.”  Both agree to an ECW rules match and after a brief staredown, they go their separate ways.

Back in the ring, we have the team of Alexander Rusev, Tajiri and ‘Bad News’ Wade Barrett taking on Prestige Inc. with Reid’s first match back since Rusev took him out.  Not only is this a grudge match but will also place the team on the road to the 6 Man Tag Team titles.  The match was dominated by triple teaming from Prestige Inc. on the big Bulgarian.  Rusev was in the ring almost the entire time and Tajiri and Barrett saw little in-ring action.  Magnus only got involved in the triple teaming.  Reid was on top of his game and took the fight to Rusev.  Finally, after 9 minutes, Rusev makes the tag to Tajiri.  Tajiri spit mist in Magnus’ face and after being tossed into the corner, Reid nails a Stinger Splash.  Sandow takes down Rusev and Barrett while Reid makes the cover and gets the 1-2-3.  Prestige Inc. win this one and move up the tag rankings.  Rusev and Barrett carry Tajiri from the ring cursing that this isn’t over. (12 min)

Next match up has Sanada taking on Kenta.  The two men put on a hell of a show but you could tell from the first few minutes of the match that Sanada was in control.  Kenta got in some good shots including two GTS (Go to Sleep) shots but it couldn’t keep Sanada down.  Sanada connected with two Moonsaults and that allowed him to control the tempo.  Finally, in just over 18 minutes, Sanada hits Kenta with a leg roll clutch and turns it into a 3 count.  Sanada gets the win and he motions that he is ready for a title shot and he is gunning for the IC title currently held by Dolph Ziggler.

The match that followed is Conan Jones taking on Zack Ryder.  Surprisingly Conan Jones held his own against Ryder.  This was a short match that saw both men fighting on the outside of the ring. Conan nails a german Suplex on to one of the announce tables (it did not break).  Conan rolls back in and gets the win via count out. (5 min)

Up next is Kofi Kingston taking on Sami Zayn.   These two put on a hell of a show but Zayn was in control the entire match with Kingston kicking out at every turn.  At the 21 minute mark, Zayn nails a sunset flip powerbomb and rolls Kofi up for the 1-2-3.

Bran-Don-Goh makes his way down for his match which was next.  His opponent tonight is Tyson Kidd.  B has one of his best outings to date.  He was able to lock in a stepover toehold facelock at the 4 minute mark and he got Tyson to tap out.  Bran-Don-Goh gets another check in the win column.

Our first of two main events John Cena vs Samoa Joe.  This one was disappointing as it was way too short.   Cena tries for a knuckle jam but Joe nullifies it.  Joe locks in a modified camel clutch but Cena powers out and nails a 5 knuckle shuffle and rolls Joe up for the pin.  Joe popped up and looked shocked that the match was over so soon.  The two stared at each other and then left.

Our 2^nd main event is the HWF World Champion Batista taking on former champ Bray Wyatt.  This one is set up with ECW rules. 

HWF Champ Batista complains about lack of talent in the HWF (worthy of a title shot).  Bray Wyatt comes out and says he never got a rematch.  Batista gloats over beating him at his own game (specialty match) and will do it again or he’ll walk out.  Both agree to an ECW rules match.  Bray hits a scoop powerslam and Batista hits an enforcer spinebuster.  He goes for a pin but only gets a 2 count.  Batista stands on Bray’s throat and then hurls Bray into the ref knocking him out.  Bray tries to whack Batista in the gonads with golf clubs but Dave nullifies it.  Batista then rams Bray into the ringside barrier and then brings him back in the ring and hits another enforcer spinebuster.  Dave stands on Bray’s throat again but Centurion runs down and hands Bray a chair which is then smashed over Batista’s head drawing blood.   Dave nails another enforcer spinebuser.   Dave is dominating Bray and hits a boot to the face.  He makes the cover but Bray kicks out at 1.   Bray somehow hits a lifting sideslam and makes a weak cover but Dave kicks out.  Bray stumbles and picks up the chair again and blasts Dave in the head not once, not twice but three times.  Bray drops the bloody instrument and makes the cover.  The ref starts to count 1….2……3.  Bray Wyatt has just defeated Batista to regain the HWF World title and Batista is out of a job.  Medics come out and load Batista to a gurney and take him to the back.  Bray remains in the ring cackling covered in blood.  Finally, he leaves.

GM Hulk Hogan comes out but stays on the stage.  “Well, we have a new World Champion and with a few people no longer employed, it is time to stage our draft.  As a reminder, those who have federation specific belts such as the World title and US title, they will stay put.  Those with non-specific titles such as the Elitist and Hardcore titles can be drafted elsewhere.  The purpose of that is to give them a resting place if or when they lose their titles.”  Psycho Jack Hercules comes out with a bowl full of wrestler’s names and it appears Hogan will be using this method for the draft.

The HWF picks up the following wrestlers:

Samoa Joe, Prestige Inc., Brad Maddox, the 719 Cartel, Bo Dallas, The Axe, Kane, EC III, Rockstar Spud, Malo Leche de Mantequilla, David Otunga, John Cena, Conan Jones, Alexander Rusev, Tajiri, and Randy Orton. 

The CSWA picks up:

The new Shield, Ken Anderson, Jay Lethal, Big E Langston, Christian, Bobby Lashley, the Colons, Kenta, the Miz, Sanada, Professor Cobra, Tyson Kidd, The Dust Brothers, Kazarian, Kevin Steen Brock Lesnar and Jack Swagger.

Hogan seems happy with all the changes and brings the show to an end.
