HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2016 #534

Hello fans and welcome back as we kick HCW right into high gear.  As we noted last issue, in the final days of 2016, the Queen’s Court picked up a new ladies wrestler Starr Vixen but instead of letting her wrestle, she was made to carry their bags (and even worse, do their expense reports) while the Court toured around England.  After weeks of being verbally abused by the Court, she got fed up of being bossed around and turns on them.  “I’m my own person and you can’t control me anymore”.  Queen Beckett says she’ll have something to say about that and promises that Starr’s life in the ring will not be an easy one.

In a very surprising move, the Elitist Reid Rothchild and his manager (2016 Manager of the Year) Master Bull brought back the Elitist title.  GM Max McGillicutty says he can’t do this (because of what happened last year with ‘the Board’) but Reid says he went to Mr. McM on his own and spoke to him in a language he understands…money…basically, he “bought” his own title back.  It has been modified slightly removing all references to the “old” federations.  Reid says that the fans didn’t support him worth a crap when he fought TV Champion ScooterJ and he doesn’t need them anymore.    Max says fine and now he gets to defend it…Today.

Our first match kicks off with newcomer Ice Dagger making his way to the ring.  Next, the ‘new’ Elitist Champion Reid Rothchild w/ Master Bull make their way down to the ring.  The fans have obviously turned on him after Reid referred to them as crap.  All we can say is that Reid looked HORRIBLE in this match and Ice Dagger owned him.  However, it’s not how you look but how you finish and Reid somehow managed to lock Dagger in the Figure Four Reid Lock and Ice had no choice but to tap out.  Reid Rothchild is successful in his first defense as Elitist Champion once again.  (11 min)  Reid flipped off the fans as he left.

Max says all championships will be defended every month (as opposed to every 30 days) so someone can defend their title the beginning of one month and not have to defend it again till the end of the next month.

It’s time for the next match.  The Queen’s Court (Lady Hermann, the British Crippler and Queen Beckett) come out unified but only Lady Hermann heads down to the ring.  Her opponent is our other newest addition to the roster Starr Vixen.  Starr doesn’t appear nervous but is cautious with the Court looming.  Lady Hermann goes right on the offensive and the Court applaud and cheer her on from the stage.  As Starr went for a standing suplex, her ladyship reversed it and hit a running jumping knee drop.  Lady Hermann hits a sitout wheelbarrow facebuster and Starr connects with a baseball slide sending her royalness to the floor.  After pouting, she finally got back in.  She caught Starr with another sitout wheelbarrow facebuster and then turned to the Court for approval to end it.  However, Starr was not done and she locked Lady Hermann in a scissored armbar right in the middle of the ring.  Lady Hermann struggled but could not get away so she tapped out.  Starr Vixen got her first win but it was short lived as Queen Beckett and the British Crippler ran down to attack her but she got out of there with minimal damage.  (3 min)

Backstage, The Steel Curtain meet with Max and say that, as former champs, they should be first in line for a rematch.  Max reminds them that they didn’t even have one successful defense under their belts before losing them therefore, they will have to work their way back up.  SC say fine and issue a challenge to the #1 contenders the Desperados at the next show.  Buzz adds on that tonight, though, he wants a singles match and Max says he’ll grant it.

For the next match, Billy Robbins and Adam Jameson head to the ring.  Backstage, P&L (Phat Sol and Red Hot Lucas Johnston (sporting his 2016 award)) tell the Ambassador that they are still deserving to be in the running for the tag belts.  The Ambassador tells them that if they pursue this course of action, he cannot support them as a team as he now has to be in the corner of the champs.  P&L head out to the ring minus their manager.  For 10 minutes, both teams were even with all 4 men giving their all.  Adam locks Phat in a reverse STF and that signaled the beginning of the end for P&L.  Billy is tagged in but eats a vertical suplex but he hits Phat with rapid punches.   Phat hits a jaw jacker and Billy shows him how to do a real vertical suplex.  Phat lands wrong and looks to be in pain.  Adam takes out Lucas so he can’t interfere.  Billy nails Phat with a moonsault and Adam throws him out of the ring.  He’s hurt so he doesn’t make it back in and ends up getting counted out.  Adam Jameson and Billy Robbins retain their spot.  (14 min)

A pre-taped video airs with Starr Vixen in a “Get to know you” segment.  Here are the highlights:

*  She thought everyone hated her, therefore decided to hate them first to avoid rejection
*  She was an great athlete growing up, but didn't take direction or instructions well.
*  She was an empty shell; she had no passion until wrestling came along and changed all that.

She knew teaming with the Queen’s Court was supposed to be a move in the right direction but they like all those who came before, despised her.  She finally stood up for herself and broke from the Court and she says she will stand with all those who feel oppressed (by creative) and make their voices heard.

We head back to the ring for our next match.  Both competitors are in the World Title top 10 but are now vying for a higher position.  First, Wilber Townsend comes out and is booed.  His opponent, former World Champion the Stache comes out and gets the biggest pop of the night.  The crazy man from the deep woods took a mic and started off:

"You give a man a mask and he will reveal his true face. Nobody is innocent, Stache. They're all guilty. They've all worn a mask at some point or another. Whether it was to hide their wrong doings or fit into some social scene, it makes no difference. But there is a problem. The problem is that if you hide behind this mask for too long it becomes you. Then, to remove this mask is to remove your own skin. I will brake you, Stache. My sword will leave a scar on your soul that can never heal. Tonight this sword will slay a giant; a gift for you, Stache. Can't you hear her calling your name? Can't you hear her sweet song serenading your mind? I'll never forget what she said to me the first time I heard her. 'All secrets will come to light underneath the shade of the cypress tree.' He's got the whole world in his hands, he's got the whole world in his hands."

The match started off good but the Stache did appear a bit rusty but he definitely held his own against crazy ol’ Wilbur.  The Stache thought he locked it up after hitting Wilber with the Tombstone (piledriver) but Wilber kicked out at 2.  Wilber would beat down on the Stache before dumping him out of the ring but Stache was back in pretty quick.  Stache gets caught by a short arm clothesline.  Wilber goes for the pin but Stache kicks out.  Wilber ends up getting dumped out of the ring but he took his time to get back in.  As soon as he did, he started blasting Stache with lifting forearm smashes but Stache stopped it with a swift kick to the gut of Wilber and hit him with the Tombstone.  He hooked the leg and got the 1-2-3.  The Stache wins the match and moves up in the rankings as Wilber drops down.  (14 min)

The US Champion the Super Shockmaster is backstage and says he doesn’t have to explain any of his actions.  The Shockmaster who came before was a failure.  He is not and will prove it once he successfully retains the US title. In his best, mechanized (Darth Vader) voice, he says “Wildfire...ha,ha,haaa... prepare to be... EXTINGUISHED! Ha, ha, haaaa!”

For the next match, Steel Curtain member Buzz Steel comes out and is accompanied by his tag team partner Starbuck Steel.   Starbuck wishes his partner good luck and goes to leave as Buzz’s opponent comes out.   Led by his manager MJ, out comes ‘the Ragin Cajun’ Rad Gumbo.  Gumbo has words with Starbuck as he’s leaving and it seemed to get heated before Gumbo walked away laughing.  For two minutes, Buzz laid into the Cajun dropping him with the Buzzkill and he had to bolt out of the ring to consult with MJ.  As soon as he did, things began going his way.  Gumbo got some great advice (and outside interference from MJ) and took the match to Buzz.  Gumbo trapped Buzz in the Onion lock but Buzz refused to submit.  Gumbo hit the Bourbon Street Blues and the Voodoo Driver to keep Buzz on the defensive.  Gumbo hit another Bourbon Street Blues and then went to flirt with the ladies at ringside.  As soon as he got back in, Buzz hit him with a slingshot suplex.  Buzz set him up for Buzz Cut but MJ grabbed Buzz’s leg causing a distraction.  Gumbo capitalized and hit Buzz with the Bourbon Street Blues.  He made the cover and (with a hook of the tights) got the 1-2-3.  Rad Gumbo scores a victory over Buzz Steel.  GM Max comes out and says that Buzz was a top contender for the World title and Gumbo was originally for the US title but with this win, places are traded and Gumbo is now a contender for the World title.  Buzz was not happy about the change after the fact and yelled at Max from the ring.  Max walked off.  (11 min)

Texas Wildfire says that because of his loss last month to MG, he cannot pursue any legal action and he’s decided to move on.  MG may still interfere in his business but he will persevere.

It is time for the main event.  Texas Wildfire comes out first to the second loudest pop of the night.  Music changes and the US Champion Super Shockmaster makes his way to the ring.  He is booed but he doesn’t care.  Wildfire went right on the offensive and he looked fantastic in the ring.  Everything was going right until the Masked Gentleman made his way out.  Super Shockmaster took advantage of the distraction and nailed TW with the Galactic Splash.  MG remained at ringside sitting at commentary.  About 12 minutes in, the ref went down and TW and the Super Shockmaster exited the ring and fought on the outside.  MG left commentary and climbed into the ring to remove one of the turnbuckle pads exposing the metal below it.  We join the match at that point.
