Hello
fans and welcome back to our newsletter.
That was sure a bombshell dropped on us last week with the WWE’s own
Vince McMahon (representing the “Board” consisting of ROH ambassador Cary
Silkin and TNA’s Dixie Carter) telling the CSWA/HWF owners that they want more
money for the use of talent. The owners
have been given until our Wrestlemania PPV in April to give them an answer but
really, is the talent worth a 400% increase?
Our owners and GM Max McGillicutty have a huge decision to make that can
and will affect the future of the HWF and CSWA organizations.
Tonight’s
show is full of title defenses and one kicked off the show after the pyro
ended.
Reid
Rothchild made his way to the ring first
He is then joined in the ring by the Axe. Finally, the Elitist Champion the Wraith
makes his way out. Certain fans cheer
for their favorites but most fans would not consider any of these 3 men on
their list of top fan favorites. The
bell rang and each man took turns beating down the others. The Axe and the Wraith had a much better
showing over Reid Rothchild. Instead of
really trying to contribute to the quality of the match, Reid kinda f’d it
up. The Axe had just hurled Reid from
the ring and nailed the Wraith with ‘the Axe’ when the bell rang bringing this
one to a 30 minute draw. The Wraith took
his title and ran. Reid and the Axe were
none too happy with the outcome. (30 min draw)
In
more exciting news, it turns out that “Red Hot Lucas Johnston” has begun a
worldwide trend. It’s not leading the
pack but it certainly is gaining momentum.
Next
on the card is Mike Bennett with Maria taking on R-Truth. For 22 minutes, Bennett and R-Truth were neck
and neck. One would hit a high spot and
the other would do the same. Even with
Maria’s interference, it didn’t give Mike the much needed boost he was hoping
for. Roughly at the 22 minute mark, Summer
Rae makes her way down and start to push Maria around. Bennett got distracted and R-Truth took
advantage of it. 4 minutes later, Truth
connected with a corkscrew scissors kick and got a 3 count to get the win. After the match, Maria attacked Summer Rae
and GM Max McGillicutty came out and got them to break it up. Max says the two of them will meet in a match
later tonight but for now, everyone needs to get out of the ring. (26 min)
In
the back, Cactus Jackie once again attacks Southern Belle. After it is broken up, Belle says she wants
Jackie back in the ring. Jackie laughs
as she takes off.
We
go back to the ring where New Day (Kofi Kingston, Big E and Xavier Woods) all
make their way to the ring. They are wearing the 6 man tag team belts. Kofi says that two of them will fight tonight
for the Tag Team titles. Kofi says that
he should represent but Xavier and Big E say they should be the ones to
fight. Kofi says that if they win the
Tag Titles tonight, they will use the “Freebird rule” (any two members of a
team can defend the titles). Big E and
Xavier agree to it. Xavier says he’ll
team with Kofi tonight. The Ascension
(Viktor & Konnor) with MJ come out.
MJ says it doesn’t matter who fights as no one except the Ascension are
leaving with the titles. The Ascension own
the match for the first half but after Big E got involved, the tide turned in
favor of New Day. In fact, New Day owned
the champs but neither could get the champ’s shoulders down for the 3
count. Fortunately for the Ascension,
the bell rang signaling the time limit has expired. The Ascension retain by the skin of their
teeth. They take their belts and
leave. New Day stays in the ring and
goofs off before leaving. (30 min)
Dr.
Red Fang says he’s cashing in his title shot tonight against Phat Sol and
expects to walk out victorious. He calls
Phat Sol a coward for attacking him (wait, he did the same thing) and will take
the thing Phat holds most dear…his title.
We
go back to the ring and Maria and Summer Rae get to square off. It doesn’t go very long as Maria chokes
Summer in the corner and refuses to break the hold so the ref disqualifies
Maria. Maria slaps Summer in the face
two times and then leaves. Summer Rae
attacks her from behind and she chases Maria from the ring. (6 min)
(Editor’s
note: I think we mentioned it was Layla
El who had the confrontation with Maria a few weeks back but had forgotten she
was gone so treat it like that one episode of “Dallas” where that portion was
just a dream).
In
prepping for his match, US Champion Phat Sol says Dr. Red Fang messed with the
wrong guy and tonight, he’ll teach him he meaning of the word respect.
We
go back to the ring and music hits and out comes the Desperados (El Chango,
Leon Teremoto and the Hardcore Champion the Stache). They seem to be one again united as there is
no bickering going on. They get to the
ring and immediately the music changes and out comes Big Show and Kane. They stop on the stage and motion for their
partner to join them. Out comes King
CJ. The three then make their way to the
ring. The King starts off and wants the
Stache but El Chango says no, he is starting.
The Desperados started off with a double team on CJ but he recovered
quickly and held his own until he tagged in Kane. The Stache gets tagged in and then gets
triple teamed. The King gets back in the
ring and the two begin to face off. Leon
calls for the tag. Big Show is tagged
in. Leon hit a chop block on Show taking
out his leg. He looked hurt so he called
for the tag. He rolled out of the ring
holding his knee. Kane is back in and is
furious. Leon plants him with a foot to
the gut while El Chango slides in a chair.
King CJ tries to get in but the ref sends him out. In the meantime, El Chango slides a chair in
to the ring. Leon nails Kane with a
powerbomb right on the chair. He slides
the chair out just as the ref turns around.
Leon makes the cover and with a hook of the tights for good measure, gets
the 1-2-3. The Desperados secure the
win. King CJ rushes in with a chair and
chases everyone from the ring. CJ and
Kane (who has now recovered) are pissed.
They go help Big Show up and help him to the back. (10 min)
GM
Max McGillicutty comes out and lets the fans know that the “Board” (Vince, Cary
and Dixie) are attempting a coup and saying that the money they are owed (for
the use of talent) can be given to them in the form of ownership of the HWF and
CSWA. Max says that he and the owners
will fight off this hostile takeover with their last breaths.
It
is time for the Main Event. The
challenger, Dr. Red Fang comes out first and is booed heavily. He growls and snarls at them. Next, the US Champion Phat Sol comes out
ready to fight. Max, still standing on
the stage, says he wants this match to be No countout; no DQ so there will be a
winner. He asks Phat what type of match
he wants and he responds “Lights Out.”
Fang is waiting in the ring and as Phat enters, Fang strikes with a
chair. He blasts Phat Sol over and over
with it battering and bloodying him up.
After a full minute of this, he straps an almost unconscious Phat Sol in
the Spider Web Lock. The ref raises
Phat’s arm once (it falls), twice (it falls) and a third time (it falls). The ref calls for the bell and awards the
match to the NEW US CHAMPION Dr. Red Fang!
Fang grabs his title and flaunts it to the fans before hissing at Phat
again and then leaves. (1 min for the
match; 5 for the segment).
That
is all for now. Stay tuned for more
action.
