HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2017 #626 – Tacoma Thunder

Hello fans and welcome back to our next episode of HCW’s Tacoma Thunder.  The show begins with GM Max McGillicutty in his office.  Max says that so far, 3 matches (of 18) from their 3 day PPV have already been signed:  our IT specialist @jowsterguy will take on Dr. Red Fang (Fang will be wrestling twice on the card also as part of the 6 man title defense); the Duchess vs Southern Belle in an ‘I Quit’ (and retire) match and finally, the World Champion Drew the Canadian Love Machine taking on ‘the Ragin Cajun’ Rad Gumbo.  Gumbo has waited his career for this moment and soon he will be able to show what he can do on the big stage.  Max says that starting tonight and for the next 4 shows, they will be announcing the remainder of the matches for the PPV. 

The show begins with 6 man tag team action.  First, the Muscles Trio (Muscles Weasley, Thorpe and McGuire) come out wearing their rainbow colored bull horns and acting all goofy (including playing their plastic instruments) and they make their way to the ring as the fans pop for them.  Next, Scooter J comes out and says that the Axe and TNT have turned their backs on him to team up with his sworn enemy Brick so he’s found two new partners to team with.  He introduces Otto Ruthless and King Wilber Townsend.  SJ says that the three of them will kick the collective asses of the trio and their dominance begins tonight.  After a rough 5 minutes, SJ’s team all got on the same page and began taking the fight to the trio.  SJ’s team continued to pick up steam and managed to confound their opponents.  The most impressive part of the match saw Scooter J hit a vertical suplex and ended up dumping Muscles McGuire out of the ring.  The other members of the Trio went to help McGuire.  King Wilber hit the ropes and then launched himself through the ropes and took all three men down.  Just as they were getting to their feet, Otto hit a springboard from the ropes and he too took all 3 men down.  The ref just kept counting and ended up counting the trio down and out.  SJ, Wilber and Otto are victorious in their first match.  Scooter J takes the mic and the fans boo him and he responds with “Boo This” and flips them all off.  He goes on to say that his new team want a match at the PPV and demand it to be against Brick, Axe and TNT.  He promises to show who the better team is.   They leave the ring and everyone eventually leaves.  (11 min)

Back in his office, Max welcomes Lexy to the roster but tells her not to unpack.  Max says that Lexy has to earn her spot on this roster so she gets to take on Lady Hermann tonight.  If she wins, she will secure a spot on the roster.  If not, well, he’ll evaluate her performance then.

We now go to the ring for a men’s battle royal with the winner getting a Money in the Bank contract.  The majority of the men’s roster emptied into the ring and they all began going at it with the hopes to secure the coveted contract.  During the match, manager Figaroa ‘Figgy’ Newton ran down and helped ‘Bad News’ Marvin Barnes eliminate ‘Top Gun’ Justin Winger.  Winger was pissed and ended up chasing Figgy through the crowd.  Ladies’ superstar Starr Vixen somehow snuck into the men’s battle royal and ended up being eliminated by Superquake Ferguson.  She received a HUGE pop from the crowd and made her way to the back.  The final two competitors were Buzz Steel and the Ragin Cajun Rad Gumbo.  Buzz tossed Rad over the top rope but then turned around thinking it was all over.  Rad had landed on the apron and snuck back in and hit Buzz with a running high knee that sent Buzz over the top rope right to the floor.  Rad Gumbo gets the win and in addition to a title shot at the PPV, he now owns a contract guaranteeing him a shot at whichever belt he wants.  His manager MJ gets in the ring and hands Rad a pen.  Rad immediately signed the contract and put the title down he wants to challenge for but closed the case so we didn’t get to see which belt it was.  Rad smirks and points to his head (I think he wants us to think he’s smart or something).  He and MJ then leave with their contract.

As Rad and MJ are making their way to the back, we see that Fan again holding his “Why Davis Why?” sign.  Who the heck is this guy?

We head to the ring for our next match.  First, the Huber Clan (Ferb, Butch and Junior) make their way down to the ring.  Next, Adam Jameson and Billy Robbins come out to a pop from the crowd.  Butch and Ferb remain in the ring as Junior stands outside the ring.  They attack Billy and AJ upon their entering the ring.  Junior even got involved powerbombing both men on the outside of the ring for near count outs.   Even with all the cheating going on, the ref wouldn’t end the match.  Finally, with only seconds left to spare before the time limit would expire, Butch hits Adam with an European uppercut and rolled him up hooking the tights AND having his feet on the ropes to get the 1-2-3.  The Hubers get the win and leave the ring laughing.  Billy helps AJ up and the two head to the back.  (19:58)

                                

Figgy Newton is backstage breathing heavy (from being on the run from Top Gun) and says that his boys the World Tag Team Champions Hoff n Spicy (Davis Hoffmeister and DJ CJ Spice) are graciously going to defend the tag titles tonight but it won’t be against either Elitism or the Steel Curtain.  Instead, the lucky team is Superquake Ferguson and Angry Jack Lawson…if they can handle it.  He jokes that a lady almost took Superquake out of the battle royal earlier this evening.

We had back to the ring and the newcomer Lexy Flexx makes her way out to the ring first.  She is followed out by Kimberly Kiccass.  Kimberly has one of the best records in the biz and she knows it.  The two women lock up immediately and put on a show for the fans.  Lexy put up a strong fight but Kimberly was able to just stay one step ahead.  Just when it looked like Lexy was going to go for the Electric Chair drop, Kimberly hits the Christo instead and hooks the leg for the 1-2-3.  Kimberly gets the win and Max makes his way to the stage.  He says that Lexy put on a great show and then welcomes her to the roster.  Kimberly got on the mic claiming she is the best in the business and as she was getting ready to leave, out comes Lady Hermann who climbs into the ring with her.  Lady Hermann questions Kimberly’s claim to being the best and tells her that if she wants to stick to that claim, she needs to meet her (Lady Hermann) in the ring to prove it.  Kimberly says she has nothing to prove however if Lady Hermann wants to get her ass kicked, she’d be more than happy to oblige…at the PPV.  The two women stare at each other until Lady Hermann leans in closer and says “WOOOO”.  She leaves and eventually Kimberly follows.  (11 min for the match; 15 total for the segment)

AJ and Billy demand Max set up a rematch between them and the Hubers.  Max says they can do it at the PPV.

It’s time for our main event with the Tag Team Titles on the line.  Superquake Ferguson and Angry Jack Lawson make their way out to the ring to the booing from the fans.  Next, manager Figgy Newton comes out and he gets a mixed reaction from the crowd but as soon as he introduces the Tag Team Champions  - Hoff n’ Spicy (Davis Hoffmeister & DJ CJ Spice), the crowd erupts in applause.   They walk by (and ignore) that Fan holding his “Why Davis Why?” sign.  Davis and DJ don’t seem to care.  Just as the match begins, ‘Top Gun’ Justin Winger runs down the ramp and Figgy panics.  Figgy tried to get away and jumped in the ring and onto the back of Angry Jack.  The ref immediately disqualified the champs for outside interference.  Figgy immediately left the ring with Winger in tow.  The team of Superquake and Angry Jack get the win via disqualification in barely 30 seconds.  Jack and Superquake are frustrated with the lack of a win and storm off.  The champs meet with the fans as the show comes to an end.

HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2017 #625 – Phoenix Heat- SUPERSHOW

Hello fans and welcome back to our show.  Today’s episode is #625 and it’s another milestone in the evolution of HCW and we’re glad you are along for the ride.  To coincide with the show today, it just so happens to be a SUPERSHOW that Phoenix GM Master Bull has put together.  Some of the best from both brands are participating in tonight’s event.

Pyro goes off to start off the show and GM Master Bull comes out to a pop from the crowd.  Bull thanks the fans for attending and promises that tonight’s show will have everyone on the edges of their seats.  Balloons and streamers fall from the ceiling as the fans pop.   Bull says that this is supposed to be his show but with it being a SUPERSHOW, he graciously agreed to allow some of Tacoma’s finest to participate in the event tonight.  Bull says that he has a lot of great matches planned and hasn’t decided on the main event.  This brings out manager J C Dykes and the Unknown Assassin who is wearing the US title and carrying the TV title on his shoulder.  Dykes tells Bull that this man (points to UA) has done what no other wrestler has done and that is hold two titles consecutively.  Because his man is so great, he deserves to be in the main event.  “No one else, not even the shell of a World Champion Drew the blah blah blah is worthy.”  Bull relents and agrees to have the Unknown Assassin defend the US title against the Crocodile Hunter.  UA and Dykes leave and Bull follows allowing this show to begin.

The show begins with Elitism (the Elitist Reid Rothchild and Rowdy Roderick Rothchild) come out but they are without their manager.  They don’t seem put off by it.  They are challenging Perfect Pecs Stoddard and Red McNulty for their spot in the top 10 line up.  Pecs and Red come out next and are booed as they make their way down to the ring.  For 10 minutes, Reid and Roderick controlled the match but just barely.  It wasn’t until after that mark that Elitism just tore their opponents to shreds.  Just when Pecs was setting up to hit Roderick with a brogue kick, Reid rushed over taking Pecs out and both men went tumbling over the top rope to the floor.  Red was distracted by that so when he turned around, Roderick hit him with a Frankensteiner and made the cover getting the 1-2-3.  Elitism gets the win and moves up in the tag team rankings while Pecs and Red move down.

Backstage, Southern Belle is lambasting Master Bull for allowing the Duchess to fight her on THEIR show.  “Those Tacoma folk are all stuck up thinking they’re high and mighty.  Well guess what…Once I defeat this poser, I will DEMAND my rematch against the coward Taylor Bella and I will reclaim MY title.”  She walks off without Bull getting a word in.

We head back to the ring for the next match.  First, the 5^th Column members Karl Braun and Oswald Zimmerman come out with their tag partner Baron Von Blood.  The fans boo as they walk to the ring.  Baron is immediately sent to the back by the ref threatening to disqualify his team if he doesn’t leave (he’s not a manager so he has no business being out there.)  Next, music hits and out comes the Ambassador and he presents the Steel Curtain – Buzz and Starbuck Steel.  The fans continue to boo them but there is a smidgen of fans who are actually cheering them.  The Steel Curtain enter the ring and the Column immediately attack them.  Right off the bat, Buzz tosses Karl over the top rope to the floor and follows him out hitting the Buzzkill.  Buzz gets back in and Oswald rushes over to try to help his partner but it does no good and Karl ends up getting counted out only 30 seconds into the match.  Before the ref could announce the winner, Master Bull came out and said that this is not the way his show is going to go so he calls out Baron von Blood and orders him to the ring to join Oswald and THIS time, he wants to see some action.  Neither team disappointed but the Steel Curtain owned the match and took an even greater lead after Baron von Blood got injured leaving Oswald to fight on.  And fight he did…for a whopping 3 minutes.  His offensive run ended after hitting Buzz with a low blow.  He turned and showboated to the fans.  Buzz called the ref over complaining (and distracting) while the Ambassador hopped up and delivered the worst eye gouge in the history of eye gouges and Oswald was blinded.  Buzz rushed over and rolled up Oswald (hooking the tights for good measure) and got the 1-2-3.  The Steel Curtain are victorious in their second match of the evening. 

After the 5^th Column left, Elitism came out and questioned why the Ambassador was in the Curtain’s corner and not theirs.  Buzz got into their faces and said that he’s about had it with the ignorance that emanates from these two putzes.  Starbuck says they’ve fought twice tonight and won both matches.  Roderick gets in his face and tells Starbuck that a win by cheap countout isn’t a win.  Buzz pushes Roderick back and says a Win is a win regardless.  Reid pushes Buzz back and says that the Ambassador needs to decide on who he wants to manage….two has-beens who don’t know when to quit or the Elite cream of the crop in he and Roderick.  The two teams almost come to blows but Master Bull comes out and puts a stop to it before it can begin.  Bull says that the two top teams on the Phoenix Heat roster are in this very ring and one way or another, these two teams need to end this once and for all.  Bull questions how to do it.  “Hmm, what about a falls count anywhere?”  He looks to the crowd and they aren’t that enthused.  “Ok, what about a Lights Out match?”  The fans seem a little more interested but still aren’t on board.  “Ok, I have it.  The two teams will meet, for a title match against the tag champs on the line, in a STEEL CAGE!”  The fans explode but the Ambassador says he won’t pit his two teams against each other.  Bull asks the fans if they want to see this and they respond with a “YES…YES…YES” chant.  Bull says it’s official and the two teams will meet in a week.  He directs everyone to leave separately so the show can continue.

Lexy Flexx is backstage and she says she’s excited about getting rid of Scarlett Phoenix.  Once that red-haired vixen is off their roster, she can make her way up to a shot at the Ladies title.

The next match is ready to begin and the Duchess makes her way out first to a decent pop from the crowd.  Once in the ring, her music is abruptly cut off and Southern Belle makes her way out.  Belle points a threatening finger at the Duchess as and soon as she enters the ring, the two ladies go right at it (strategy pin rules.)  Belle had control for the first 6 minutes beating the Duchess down but after her royalness hit a superkick, it turned into her favor.  The Duchess then began taking the match to her opponent and Belle was struggling to stay on her feet.  In an act of desperation, Belle went for a victory roll up but grabbed the ropes for leverage but the ref saw it and made her break the hold.  While Belle was busy complaining to the ref, the Duchess got up and jumped onto Belle’s back and eye raked her.  She then quickly rolled an unsuspecting Belle up and got the 3 count.  The Duchess gets the win and Belle is PISSED!  (16 min)  Belle tells the Duchess “This isn’t over!  Not by a long shot.  You think you can come here into my backyard and cheat and steal a win from ME?  Guess what sister, this isn’t going to go your way.  In fact, every show you’re at, I’ll be there in your face.  Every match you have…you can bet that the loss column of your record is going to explode.”  The Duchess gets back in the ring and says “Then let’s settle this…not like Ladies but like WRESTLERS!  You want me in a match?  How about one where there is no DQ, no pin; only SUBMISSION.”  Belle smiles.  “You’re not such as dutz as I thought.  Yes, an I Quit match will be perfect.”  They are then interrupted by Master Bull.  “Listen ladies…you don’t make the matches; I do.  However, this one has got money written all over it.  BUT…there is one major caveat…the loser of the match must RETIRE!  That’s right, you heard me…you want this match, this is MY rule.”  Both women agree to the match.  Bull continues “and this will be our first officially sanctioned match for the Apocalypse PPV that is one month away.”  The fans pop in appreciation but just as the Duchess was leaving, Belle blasted her from behind and then dropped her with the Southern Swing.  Belle laughed and left as the ref helped the Duchess to her feet and then helped her to the back. 

The Crocodile Hunter is backstage and he says that he’s ready for his match tonight.  He’s excited to be in the hunt for gold and expects this to be the first of many titles he wears.

Scarlett Phoenix is also backstage and she says that she has no intention of going anywhere.  She will finally get her comeuppance and it will be Lexy who will be sent packing.

We head back to the ring for our “I Quit” match between Lexy Flexx and Scarlett Phoenix.   Lexy Flexx makes her way out to the ring first and she is booed.  Next, Scarlett Phoenix comes out and the crowd pops huge for her.  She gets into the ring and the bell rings moments later kicking this one off.  For 7 minutes, Lexy had control of the match but after hitting a flying bodypress, Scarlett took control of the match.  Neither lady went for any type of submission until late in the match. Lexy looked to have it locked up after locking in the Dis-Arm-Her Fujiwara armbar (a move that she beat Scarlett with twice) but to her credit, Scarlett powered out of it making it to the ropes to break the hold.   Scarlett hit a dropkick but Lexy locked in the armbar again but Scarlett was too close to the ropes and got to safety.  Lexy then went to the top turnbuckle but Scarlett caught her and bodyslammed her to the mat.  Scarlett then locked in a spine-bending boston crab right in the middle of the ring and Lexy started slapping the mat and the ref ran over with a microphone and Lexy screamed “I QUIT!”  Scarlett broke the hold and with that, the match was over with Scarlett getting the dominant win and Lexy is now being sent off to Tacoma.  Lexy made her way to the back as the fans sang “Na, na…na na na na…hey hey hey…goodbye.”

World Champion Drew the Canadian Love Machine is ready to head to the ring.  He addresses Rad saying that if Gumbo thinks he can defeat him, then he may actually deserve a title show but he has to win first and in looking as Drew’s win/loss record, that may be a tough mountain for the Ragin Cajun to climb.

The next match is ready to go when over the loudspeakers blares “Gumbo 7:30 says its suppa time bitch” and the Ragin Cajun Rad Gumbo and his manager MJ and the crowd boos them as they head to the ring.  Gumbo walks with his head held high and looks confident as ever.  Next, the music changes and out comes the World Champion Drew the Canadian Love Machine and he heads to the ring as the fans pop huge for him.  He slaps the fans’ hands as he makes his way around the ring and then finally entered the ring.  He climbed each turnbuckle and the fans pop kept getting louder and louder.  Finally, he was ready for the match to begin.  Drew hit the La Casita right off the bat but then an eye rake from the Cajun ended Drew’s offensive run.  Rad and his manager outsmarted Drew throwing him off his game.  4 minutes in, MJ used some peanuts to eye gouge the champ.  Rad then hit Drew with the Bourbon Street Blues and he made the cover.  MJ reached in and held down Drew’s leg so he could not kick out.  The ref counted to 3 and awarded the match to Rad Gumbo.  Gumbo left the ring with MJ smirking knowing that he just stole a win from the champ and now he’s in line for a title shot.  Rad points to his manager and then to his own head signifying he outsmarted Drew.  Drew, frustrated, ends up leaving moments later.  (5 min)

Master Bull comes back out and thanks the fans for coming out and proving the superiority of the Phoenix brand.  Bull tells that the shows to come will start providing shape and structure to our PPV and encourages everyone to order their tickets ASAP as the show will take place on neutral ground about half way between both territories.  The Apocalypse PPV will take place in Denver, CO with the fanfest taking place in Colorado Springs, CO earlier in the week.  That will be forthcoming but for now, we have a main event that is ready to take place.  Master Bull then leaves the stage and we get ready for the main event to begin.

Music hits and the Crocodile Hunter makes his way down to the ring as the fans pop for him.  His reaction from the crowd was almost as great as the one Drew got.   Next, security comes out and lines the ramp to the ring.  Music changes and out comes J C Dykes and the US Champion the Unknown Assassin.  The two men head to the ring as the fans boo and throw stuff at them.

For 19 minutes, Croc took the match to the champ and even though he went for pin attempts early on, UA kept kicking out.  Assassin reached a point where he exited the ring and conferred with his manager and after that (and probably being handed a foreign object) he re-entered the ring stunning Croc with some straight lefts and rights (and something hidden in each fist maybe?).  After knocking Croc’s block off with some English forearm strikes (and a quick pin attempt), UA stood up and mocked Croc to get to his feet.  UA moves in and locks in a standing crossface.  Croc struggled against it and began to fade.  When UA though he was gone enough, he dropped him to the mat and hooked the left getting the 1-2-3.  The Unknown Assassin is victorious in his title defense.  Dykes joins UA in the ring and the two celebrate as the fans start pitching stuff at them as the show comes to an end.

HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2017 #624 – Tacoma Thunder

Hello everyone and welcome back to the next episode of HCW’s Tacoma Thunder.  The show begins with pyro and GM Max McGillicutty comes out to a pop from the crowd.  Max says that Phoenix GM Master Bull did beat him to the punch on not just one but two announcements…The Super show and the Apocalypse PPV.  Max does say that after the PPV, everything will shut down for the remainder of the year (and give creative a chance to reboot).  Max also announces that the Duchess is out of jail and has requested to get her hands on Southern Belle.  Max says that even though he has no control of the matches on Heat, he does have influence on Supershows so he is playing his executive card this one time and inserting the Duchess into a match against the Southern Belle at the Supershow.  The fans pop and Max leaves the stage to allow the show to begin.

The show begins with a non-title match.  First, Lavender Gooms makes her way down to the ring.  Next, Figaroa ‘Figgy’ Newton comes out and introduces the Ladies Champion Taylor Bella.  He reminds us that the title is not on the line.  Just as the match gets underway, ‘Top Gun’ Justin Winger shows up and Figgy takes off through the crowd leaving Taylor to fight her battle on her own.  Taylor held her own showing why she’s the Ladies Champion but Lavender kept the fight going.  Just as the match was nearing the time limit, Lavender pulled Taylor out of the ring and hit a Bex-plex on the floor.  She rolled back in and waited for Taylor to get counted out but the Ladies Champion dug deep and slid back in just before the time limit expired.  The match ends in a 20 minute time limit draw.  Figgy rushed back down, slid in the ring and put Taylor’s belt over her shoulder.  The two left with Figgy constantly looking over his shoulder.

We cut to outside and see a limo pull up.  J C Dykes and the Unknown Assassin show up.  Security asks what they’re doing there and Dykes says the champ is ready to put the TV title on the line against the next opponent.  Security lets him in and the two men brush past as they make their way to the GM’s office.  Apparently they have something they want to talk about.

Next, Ant Graham makes his way out and introduces one third of the 6 Man Tag Team Champions Covfefe.  The two head down to the ring.  Music changes and out comes the Axe.  The fans pop as he makes his way down to the ring.  Ant got involved early throwing a fireball that blinded the Axe.  Covfefe then took his time beating Axe down.  After a few minutes, Axe battled back but Graham tripped him at the ropes.  Covfefe then hit a piledriver in the middle of the ring and with a hook of the leg (and some tights just to be sure), he gets the 1-2-3.  Covfefe stands tall but then tries to beat Axe down more.  He picks up the Axe but Axe hits the Axe and sends Covfefe right out of the ring.  Dr. Red Fang and Mason the Mangler join Covfefe and their manager on the ramp but then TNT runs down going after the Ghouls and then joining them is Brick.  The new team stands tall as Ant takes his team to the back.  I guess we will be seeing where this will be going.  (8 min)

We head back to the ring for the next match.  First, ‘Top Gun’ Justin Winger comes out to a pop from the crowd.  Next, Ghee Buttersnaps makes his way out also to a nice pop from the crowd.  Ghee started off really strong controlled the match but things changed when Figgy Newton came down and attacked Winger with a chair but Winger had enough and viciously yanked the chair from his hands and Figgy took off.  When Winger returned to the ring (the ref sort of was not paying attention), his motivation changed and he took the match to Ghee.  The two continued to battle right up to the bell bringing this one to a time limit draw.  The two men looked like they wanted to continue but ended up shaking hands and leaving the ring at the same time.  (20 min draw)

The Unknown Assassin and Dykes bitch about being treated like red-headed stepchildren.  He holds TWO belts.  Max informs them that even though they expect it, they are NOT the main event tonight.  Dykes storms off.

It’s time for our next match and Perfect Pecs Stoddard and Red McNulty – two Irish lads – make their way down to the ring to a mixed reaction from the crowd.  Next, the music changes and Figgy Newton comes out but is booed.  Hoff n Spicy (Davis Hoffmeister and DJ CJ Spice) come out and whisper something to Newton who leaves and the fans change their tune and pop for the tag team champs.  The tag team titles are not on the line in this match.  As Hoff and DJ make their way down to the ring, a fan at ringside is holding a sign that reads “Why Davis Why?”  We’re not sure what it means.  Just as the match began, Figgy Newton ran down to the ring being chased by ‘Top Gun’ Justin Winger.  Winger chased Figgy around the ring and on one of the laps, Figgy grabbed a chair and hurled it behind him attempting to hit Winger but the aim was off and the chair went sailing right into the ring just as Davis had locked on the Hollywood (camel) clutch on Red McNulty and the chair hit red and the ref immediately disqualified the champs due to outside interference.  Figgy kept running with Winger in tow.  The champs were not happy with what just transpired but the belts weren’t on the line so not much is lost…except now that Pecs and McNulty will now get a (future) title shot.  (30 seconds)

Backstage, Brick approaches Axe and TNT explaining why he came out and said that he felt he could help complement the former champs and if they agree to let him sign on, he feels the three of them will wear gold again.  The three men shake hands.

Muscles Weasley makes his way down to the ring for the next match.  He’s going solo tonight but he is wearing his rainbow colored bull horns.  Next, the music changes and the fans boo knowing what is coming next.  J C Dykes comes out and the fans crinkle their noses as if an unexpected odor has wafted by them.  Security comes out and lines the ramp and the Unknown Assassin joins his manager and the two of them make their way down to the ring.  The Unknown Assassin hands the TV title to the ref and this one is ready to begin.  UA dominated the match leaving Weasley in his dust.  With the dominance UA had in the ring, it is unclear why Dykes decided then to get involved.  Dykes jumped on the apron whacking Weasley with a loaded canteen.  Fortunately for UA, it didn’t result in a disqualification.  UA probably figured that was enough and he made the cover getting the 3 count.  The Unknown Assassin wins the match and is handed his title back. Dykes raises the arm of UA and the two end up leaving.  (11 min)

We cut backstage with ‘The Ragin Cajun’ Rad Gumbo and his manager MJ are being interviewed.  Gumbo says that since being transferred to Tacoma, he’s been craving a match and has decided who he wants to test his skills against.  He chooses…Drew the Canadian Love Machine.  Rad challenges Drew to a non-title match at the Supershow however, if he wins, he wants a title match.

It’s time for our main event.  First, the challenger Ivan Dragovich comes out to booing from the crowd.  Next, Hardcore Champion Leon Teremoto comes out to a pop from the crowd.  The ref asks Leon what type of match he wants and Leon says “Ladder”.  Ivan went on the offensive early taking the fight to the champ.  Both men did some pretty amazing moves using and flying off the ladder.  Ivan began inflicting damage using multiple ladders as weapons as well as sandwiching Leon between them.  We join the match at the 16 minute mark.

HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2017 #623 – Phoenix Heat

Hello fans.  Another episode of HCW’s Phoenix Heat is upon us.  The show begins with a recap from the last Tacoma show where Graham’s Ghouls (Dr. Red Fang, Covfefe and Mason the Mangler) defeated the Axe, TNT and Scooter J to become the new 6 Man tag team champions.  (editor’s note:  Jerks)  Once the team got to the back, there was a blowup between Scooter J and Axe/TNT.  Scooter J stormed off effectively bringing this team to an end.  Scooter J met up with GM Max McGillicutty demanding to be traded to the other brand or he’d walk.  Max and Heat’s GM Master Bull had a conversation about it and agreed on a trade.  Moving to Tacoma is the high flyer “Top Gun” Justin Winger.

Our show kicks off with some pyro and Southern Belle making her way down to the ring with a mic in hand.  Belle gloats about taking out two of Tacoma’s superstars when the Duchess shows up.  She rushes down to the ring and starts to beat the tar out of Belle.  Security makes their way out to separate the two.  Belle then demands that the Duchess be arrested for such a blatant attack and says if the Duchess isn’t arrested here and now, she’ll slap HCW and Master Bull (it’s his brand afterall) with a lawsuit for not protecting its employees.  Phoenix’s finest come out but have no choice and handcuff the Duchess and escort her to the back.  The Duchess however gets in one last dig flipping Belle off as she’s being led away.  Belle started to throw a tantrum but Master Bull came out and said that since Belle is in the ring, she gets to participate in the first match of the evening.  Belle tries to complain that she’s not ready but Bull pays no attention to her.  Sarona Reiher comes out to a pop from the fans (mostly because they dislike Belle).   Sarona took the match to Belle who used every cheating move in her arsenal to put a stop to Sarona’s offense run.  It didn’t work.  Sarona went to the top rope and connected with a superfly splash but Belle rolled through it and grabbed a handful of tights trying to get leverage but the ref saw it and stopped his count.  Belle began to lambast him but Sarona connected with a jumping headbutt and she rolled Belle up and got the 3 count.  Sarona Reiher gets the win.  Belle was unhappy and voiced her displeasure on the walk to the back.  (13 min)

Master Bull is back in his office and says that tonight is the night of announcements beating Tacoma’s GM Max McGillicutty to the punch.  The first announcement is that the next Heat show will be a Supershow commemorating the 625^th episode of an HCW (including former federations HWF and CSWA) event.  He says he’ll be back later with even more news.

We head to the ring for our next match.  First, Ivan Dragovich comes out and is booed.  Next, Jesse California comes out and the fans aren’t all that thrilled with him either so he receives a similar reaction.  Jesse then took the fight to Ivan taking the bigger man off his feet multiple times and that just frustrated the rambunctious Russian.  Ivan got frustrated and then locked Jesse in the Accolade Clutch but Jesse made it to the ropes.  Ivan complained to the ref after being forced to break the hold and as he turned around, Jesse hit him with a standing dropkick that almost took Ivan out of his boots.  Jesse made the cover and (with a hook of the tights) got the 1-2-3.  Jesse California gets the win.  Ivan complained about the cheating that Jesse did but the ref walked away.  Ivan stormed off afterwards.  (13 min)

Backstage, The Steel Curtain (Buzz and Starbuck Steel) and Biceps Bannerman are together cutting a promo.  Buzz says that’s it’s good that they are teamed back up with Biceps.  Starbuck says “Word”.   Buzz adds in that at one time, they were the most dominating 6 man team in HCW.  Biceps leans in and says “Word”.  Starbuck says that united, they are an unstoppable force and Buzz says “Word”.  The three men then do the “shield fist bump” and walk off camera.

Action continues as Angry Jack Lawson makes his way down to the ring.   He is then followed out by 5^th Column member Baron von Blood.  For about 10 minutes, Lawson took his anger out on Baron but after that, he sort of ran out of steam.  Baron took over and beat Jack down for the next 10 minutes.  Baron delivered a vicious eye rake and then went for a pin but it was too late and the bell rang bringing this one to a draw.  Both men left the ring without further altercation.  (20 min draw)

We head backstage where Ravishing Raquel is cutting a promo.  She says that she’s going to sit quietly waiting for those who think they’re entitled to something to get it all out of their systems and then she will take the #1 contender spot and eventually, the Ladies title.

Next, the Huber Clan (Ferb, Junior and Butch) come out and they say that they are a better 6 man team than anyone on the roster and tonight they are calling out the Steel Curtain and Biceps Bannerman challenging them for their spot in the lineup.  The Ambassador comes out first and accepts on behalf of his team and Biceps comes out first and is followed out by Starbuck and Buzz Steel and they head right down to the ring.  The Hubers attack Biceps kicking the match off.  The Hubers stayed one step ahead of their opponents after taking out the Ambassador but Buzz, Starbuck and Bannerman all made the saves at the opportune times and that frustrated the Clan. Before we knew it, the 30 minute time limit was reached and the match came to an end.  The Hubers stormed off and the Steel Curtain and Biceps gathered their manager and made their way to the back.  There were a small group of fans that actually cheered the Steel Curtain and Biceps. 

We go backstage again and ‘Top Gun’ Justin Winger is cutting a farewell promo to Phoenix and says that once he makes it up to Tacoma, manager Figgy Newton won’t be able to run and hide and he will get his comeuppance.

We head back to the ring for our next match.  First.  Betsy Cummings makes her way down to the ring.  Next, she is followed out by Ravishing Raquel.  Betsy tries to goad Raquel but it doesn’t work.  The match is pretty even between the two women but it almost seemed that Raquel was holding back.  12 minutes in, Raquel went for a moonsault but Betsy thwarted her attempt.  So instead, Raquel hits the Simply Ravishing and she hooks the leg to get the 1-2-3.  Raquel gets the win and the fans pop for her as she leaves.  (13 min)

We head back to Master Bull’s office and he says that he has the pleasure to announce that next month’s Apocalypse PPV taking place over 3 days and will also include a fanfest earlier in the week.  Dates will be 12/15-17.  He encourages all the fans to start getting their tickets now as this show will, guaranteed, sell out.

It’s time for our Main Event:  Texas Wildfire vs Crocodile Hunter vs Outback Oscar vs Superquake Ferguson.  The four men make their way down to the ring with TW and Croc getting the loudest pops from the crowd.  The four men beat the hell out of each other but it was Texas Wildfire who was the shining star of the match.  Since this was a no DQ match, it did TW no favors when the Super Shockmaster came out and attacked TW and the two of them began brawling all the way to the back effectively taking him out of the match.  With TW out, Croc and Oscar teamed up to take out Ferguson.  Once Ferguson was dumped out of the ring, the two tag team partners began going at it much to the fans’ delight.  Oscar hit Croc with a swinging neckbreaker but before he could capitalize on it, Ferguson hit the ring and blasted Oscar with a big boot that sent him right out of the ring.  Croc gets up and begins hitting the ropes and nails Ferguson with a falling overhead kick.  Croc makes the cover and gets the 3 count.  The Crocodile Hunter gets the win in a hard fought 44 ½ min match.  Just as he was celebrating, Master Bull came out and congratulated Croc on his win.  The Unknown Assassin then rushes down and attacks Croc as Master Bull bails out of the ring.  UA blasts Croc with English forearm strikes until he stopped moving.  J C Dykes joins the Unknown Assassin in the ring as he stands over Croc holding the US title high over his head as the show came to an end.

HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2017 #622 – Tacoma Thunder

Hello wrestling fans and welcome back to our next installment of HCW’s Tacoma Thunder.   The show begins with superstar El Chango making his way out to the ring.  He takes a mic and calls out Ice Dagger for the lack of sportsmanship he’d shown in their last outing and tells him to come out and meet him like a man.  Ice Dagger comes out but he’s not alone.  Following behind him is Bishop Ripley.  Ice Dagger has a mic of his own and says that El Chango is talking pretty tough for someone who doesn’t know when to keep his mouth shut.  ID and Bishop enter the ring and corner El Chango.  After some more words, ID and Bishop attack El Chango beating him down until the Hardcore Champion Leon Teremoto comes out and chases off ID and BR with a chair.  Leon helps his former tag team partner up and Leon proposes that for one night only, they team up reforming the Desperados to take on Ice Dagger and Bishop Ripley.  El Chango accepts and the two shake hands before leaving.

We cut to the back in GM Max McGillicutty’s office and he lets us know that the main event tonight will be the team of the Axe, Scooter J and TNT defending the 6 Man titles against Ant Graham’s Ghouls (Dr. Red Fang, Covfefe and Mason the Mangler)

Our first match kicks off with Pete Punsher making his way down to the ring first to a mixed reaction from the crowd.  Next, Brick comes out and receives the same response from the fans.  Brick takes control for the first four minutes until Scooter J ran in from the crowd after Brick was on the outside of the ring and then smashed his head into the steel post.  Afterwards, he threw Brick back into the ring and then took off through the crowd.   Pete hits the PUN-ishment but only gets a 2 count.  Brick tries for an atomic drop but Pete nullifies it and then hits the Combing the Desert and makes the cover and gets the 1-2-3.  Pete gets the win but as Scooter J makes his way through the crowd, they boo the hell out of him.  Scooter J sneers and keeps moving. (6 min)

Sonic Blade arrives and is asked what he’s doing there tonight.  Sonic says he’s in action tonight and this is only the start of him making his way back up the ladder and one day, he promises he will hold the World title again.  Sonic then walks off.

We head to the ring for our next match.  Billy Robbins makes his way out first to a decent pop from the crowd.  Next, we hear over the loudspeakers “I’ve got some bad news for ya” and out comes ‘Bad News’ Marvin Barnes.  For 8 minutes, Billy took the fight to Bad News but after Barnes hit the Black Matter, it all went Marvin’s way.  Billy got tossed over the top rope and he landed hard on the ground and looked hurt.  Marvin brought him back in and beat Billy down for a few minutes before hitting the Bad News.  Marvin makes the cover and gets the easy 3 count.  Marvin Barnes gets the win.  He showboats and is booed by the fans and ends up flipping them off.  (17 min)

Ant Graham is backstage with his Ghouls and says tonight the joke that are posing as the champs hits the punchline and he’s afraid no one is going to like it as the Ghouls will walk out with the titles.  Dr. Red Fang sticks his nose in and screams “VAMPIRE LUNGES FOR EVERYONE!” 

The next match gets underway when Hangman #3 comes out and heads to the ring.  Next, Sonic Blade comes out and the fans pop for him.  He gets into the ring and is attacked by Hangman #3.  Sonic and Hangman #3 went toe to toe for 11 straight minutes. Once Sonic hit a tilt-a-whirl arm drag and got a near fall, things began going his way.  For the next 8 minutes Sonic shone like a star and dominated.  Once we got into the final minute, things started to get harry.  A reversal from Sonic and then hitting a sunset flip in the last few seconds of the match got him the 1-2-3.  Sonic Blade gets the win with seconds left to spare. (19:58)  The fans pop as he heads to the back exhausted.

While we were waiting for the next match to begin, the Duchess comes out and heads to the ring.  She calls out Southern Belle questioning which one of them is the poser. The Duchess says that Belle was a “Diva” whereas the Duchess is the LADIES CHAMP.  She tells Belle that anytime she wants to get in the ring with her, she will show Belle who the best is.  Now, she’s all worked up and needs a match.  Kimberly Kiccass comes out to oblige.  Duchess tosses Kimberly out of the ring for a 4 count.  Kimberly hits a top rope leg drop to a pop from the crowd.  The Duchess gets up and immediately locks in the ‘All Hail Her Majesty’ and she gets Kimberly to tap out in the middle of the ring.  The Duchess gets the win in dominating fashion.  (3 min)

Backstage, the 6 Man champs the Axe, TNT and Scooter J are arguing.  Axe is questioning SJ’s actions when it comes to Brick and SJ slams his hands down saying that they will never understand.  TNT speaks up and says “What about Wilber and the Hubers?  I don’t understand that?”  Axe then chimes in “Where do I start?  The Band?  Dirk Devon?  Wam Bam Arsonist?  Take your pick.  You are not the only one this has happened to.  Get your head on straight.  We have a match to prepare for.”  Axe and TNT walk off camera as SJ looks on and ponders what was just said.

Next, Ice Dagger and Bishop Ripley make their way down to the ring.  The fans boo them but they don’t care.  Next, the all too familiar music of the theme from Bonanza plays and out comes the Desperados – El Chango and the Hardcore Champion Leon Teremoto.  The fans pop and the two men are caught totally unprepared for the reaction.  They make their way to the ring and enter.  The bell rings pretty quick.  The Desperados quickly got into their old rhythm and totally owned this match (177 to 81).  Both Ice Dagger and Bishop Ripley got injured during the match.  All four men were able to hit their finishers during the match but someone always made the save.  In the last few minutes of the match, Ice Dagger hit a vertical suplex on El Chango but El Chango got up and hit a Phoenix splash.  ID made the hot tag to Bishop.   Bishop comes in and hits a german suplex but El Chango gets up to the top turnbuckle and nails a shooting star press.  Leon then rushes in to knock ID from the apron.   El Chango makes the cover and gets the 1-2-3.  The Desperados get the win as Ice Dagger leaves his partner behind (out cold) grumbling all the way to the back.  El Chango and Leon celebrate, shake hands and then leave the ring.  (18 min)

GM Max McGillicutty is still in his office and says that in a week, he will be making an announcement with some ‘hot off the press’ news that will be sure to excite wrestling fans everywhere.

We go back to the ring for our Main Event.  First, manager Ant Graham comes out and brings out Graham’s Ghouls – Dr. Red Fang, Mason the Mangler and Covfefe.  The fans, of course, boo them.  Next, music changes and out comes the 6 Man Tag Team Champs – The Axe, TNT and Scooter J.  They seem to be on a united front and all head down to the ring together.  Graham has the Ghouls attack Scooter J first (most likely trying to get him to lose his cool) but the ref regains control pretty quick.  Scooter J hits a clothesline on Dr. Red Fang but then is jumped by the rest of the Ghouls.  The action falls out of the ring and Scooter J grabs a chair and begins swinging and connecting with it.  The ref immediately disqualifies the champs and awards the match (but not the titles) to Graham’s Ghouls.  (30 seconds)  Axe and TNT are not happy about it.  GM Max McGillicutty comes out and says that this is not how it will go down.  He says the last match is what it was but now the champs have to defend the titles AGAIN against the Ghouls but this time, it will be a No countout/no DQ rules match.  The match went a little longer this time with the Ghouls taking control early on but eventually the champs turned things around.  Graham had his team take out TNT by hitting a double powerbomb through the announce table taking him out.  Next, the hit Scooter J with a spike piledriver on the outside of the ring taking him out.  This left the Axe to fend for himself.   Axe did ok but as he was calling for the Axe, Ant Graham jumped on the apron distracting Axe.  Axe took a swing (and missed) and Dr. Red Fang rushed over and rolled up the Axe hooking the tights (ILLEGAL) and putting his feet on the ropes for leverage (ummm also ILLEGAL) but the ref missed it and began counting 1…Scooter J began to stir and make it to his feet….2…SJ tried to make it into the ring but…3 slaps of the mat brought the match to an end and with that, the end of the former champs title run issuing in NEW 6 Man Tag Team Champions in Graham’s Ghouls.  The Ghouls and Ant stood in the ring with their arms raised as the fans booed and the show came to an end.

HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2017 #621 – Phoenix Heat

(Editor's note:  In the last issue, our proofreaders missed a glaring error.  One half of the World Tag Team Champions Davis 'the Hoff' Hoffmeister was inadvertently referred to as "Drew".  We apologize to Davis for this glaring mistake.)  (on a side note, we almost did it again calling Davis "Drew".  Someone either needs more or less caffeine.)

Hello fans and welcome back to HCW’s Phoenix Heat.  Master Bull comes out to kick off the show thanking the fans of ‘Heat’ for braving the heat and supporting them.  Before he can get started, the manager of the US & TV champion the Unknown Assassin J C Dykes comes out starts to lambast Master Bull demanding that the Champ be on the show tonight as the other GM has been totally ignoring his calls (and threats).  Master Bull agrees to have the TV title defended tonight but also makes the announcement that at a future Phoenix show, UA will also have to defend the US title.  Dykes demands to know against whom but Bull says that it will be revealed at their next show.  Dykes storms off.  Bull leaves so the show can get going.

The show kicks off with Talon McFrost making his way down to the ring.  Next, music changes and out comes ‘Top Gun’ Justin Winger.  The crowd pops for him as he makes his way down to the ring.  The two fought hard keeping the fans on their edge of their seats.  But try as they could, neither man was able to get a pin or submission.  The two men kept fighting right up until the bell sounded bringing this one to a time limit draw.  Both men wanted to keep on fighting but they will have to wait for another day.  Just as Winger was walking the ramp to the back, our came the manager Figaroa Newton and he hit Winger just once before Winger grabbed him by the jacket and slugged him a good one.  Newton then scurried off before Winger could lay another hand on him.  (20 min draw)

Backstage, Southern Belle speaks to why she attacked the Duchess.  She says the wannabe to the throne is taking a spot that is rightfully hers.  She still is in line for the rematch she’s yet to receive and until the coward Taylor Bella steps up, Belle will go through the roster, both rosters if need be, until she gets her rematch.

We head back to the ring for our next match.  First, Lexy Flexx makes her way out and is booed.  Next, Scarlett Phoenix comes out and gets a pop from the crowd.  Lexy doesn’t like this and attacks Scarlett before she can even get into the ring.  After a moment, both ladies enter the ring and this one begins but not before Lexy dropped a knee onto Scarlett’s leg injuring it.  From there, Lexy worked on the leg and eventually locked in a four leg clover leglock and Scarlett had no choice but to tap out.  Lexy Flexx gets the win in their second meeting giving her a 2-0 record over Scarlett.   As Lexy walks off, Scarlett, nursing her leg, grabs a mic and challenges Lexy to one more fight between the two of them.  Lexy asks what’s in it for her.  Scarlett challenges her to an I Quit match and the loser trades brands.  Lexy snorts in derision but can’t pass up the opportunity to rid a nobody from the roster.  She accepts. 

Master Bull was watching what transpired and said that this match will be added to the Supershow that will take place in two weeks.

We go back to the ring for the next match.  First, 5^th Column member Karl Braun comes out and is booed.  He flips off the fans as he get into the ring.  Next, ‘The Elitist’ Reid Rothchild comes out to a pop from the crowd.  He climbs the turnbuckles as the fans pop for him.  He and Braun brawl for the entire match without either man going for a pin.  The match was nearing its end so Reid thought he would finish it up by hitting a Reid-a-rooni but at the last moment, Karl nullified it.  The bell then rang bringing this one to a draw finish.  Karl motioned to the back to have his 5^th Column teammates join him but no one came out except for ‘the Rowdy One’ Roderick Rothchild.  He seemed to have dispatched them.  Reid ends up leaving the ring without further incident.  (20 min draw)

Backstage, the Steel Curtain (Buzz and Starbuck Steel) show up and they issue a challenge Outback Oscar and the Crocodile Hunter tonight for their spot in the Tag Team line up.

Superquake Ferguson comes out first to a mixed reaction from the crowd.  Next, music changes and out comes Texas Wildfire.  The fans practically explode in appreciate for the fan favorite.  TW gets into the ring and climbs the turnbuckles and the crowd pops even louder.  The match gets underway and TW remains in control for the whole match just stunning his 350 pound opponent.  During the last 5 minutes of the match, Ferguson threw TW out of the ring 4 times.   The final time Ferguson hurled TW into the crowd and made sure this time he wouldn’t make it back and he rolled back in beating the 10 count and winning the match by countout.  Master Bull came out and said that he was disappointed Ferguson stooped that low to win the match so he said that the two of them will meet again but will wait and disclose his plans later this evening.

J C Dykes is backstage and is livid.  Just because he wants the Unknown Assassin to be on all the shows doesn’t mean he should be forced to defend his titles each time.  Regardless, UA will destroy Terra Ryzing and will continue to blow through the roster.

Next, the Steel Curtain come out with their manager the Ambassador and the crowd boos.  They get into the ring and pose as the crowd voices their displeasure.  Buzz and Starbuck Steel don’t seem to care.  Next, Outback Oscar and the Crocodile Hunter come out to a pop from the crowd.  The winners of this match will get the next tag team title shot at Hoff n’ Spicy’s tag team championships.  The Ambassador got involved early on and that benefitted his team.  The Steel Curtain took advantage of it and controlled the tempo of the match.  Croc made the hot tag in and was going for the Prince’s Throne but Starbuck nullified it and choked Croc in the corner.  He then rolled up Croc and with his feet on the ropes, got the 1-2-3.  The Steel Curtain get the win and are now the #1 contenders for the World Tag Team Titles.  All of a sudden, Davis Hoffmeister and DJ CJ Spice, the champs, come out with their manager Figaroa Newton and the two teams stare at each other before everyone eventually leaves.  As Croc and Oscar were leaving, Master Bull came out and said he wanted to follow up on his previous announcement.  Since the Steel Curtain are going after the Tag team titles that leaves some spots open for his announcement.  Bull announces that the Crocodile Hunter, Outback Oscar, Supequake Ferguson and Texas Wildfire are all going to meet in a Fatal Four Way with the winner of that match challenging the Unknown Assassin for the US Title.  The fans pop.

The announcement brings out manager J C Dykes.  Dykes complains that Master Bull is usurping his authority and trying to stack the cards against his client.  Dykes warns Bull that if he tries any funny business, he’ll slap Bull with a lawsuit so fast it will make his head spin.  Bull tells Dykes to get his client ready for the match coming up next and he’d better hope he’d concentrate on the match at hand and not overlook anyone as titles change like that (he snaps his fingers and Dykes jumps).  Dykes storms off. 

It’s time for the Main Event.  Terra Ryzing comes out first and is booed.  Next, Dykes comes out with the dual champion (US and TV) the Unknown Assassin.   Security comes out lining the way to the ring and the champ and his manager make their way down.  The Assassin totally dominated the match embarrassing Ryzing.  It wasn’t until later in the match that Terra began an offensive run and Dykes wanted to shut that down quick so he hopped up on the apron and threw a fireball into Terra’s face.  However, the ref saw it all and immediately disqualified the Unknown Assassin for outside interference.  Terra Ryzing gets the win but does not win the title.  Master Bull comes out and threatens action but Dykes jumps into the ring holding what appeared to be a legal document saying that if Bull makes one wrong move, he’s done for.  Bull ends up backing down.  Dykes runs around the ring laughing while UA stands tall holding both belts as the show comes to an end.

HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2017 #620 – Tacoma Thunder

Hello fans and welcome to another episode of HCW’s Tacoma Thunder.  There has been bit going on backstage so we’ll address that first.

HCW has come to terms with Jerry Saunders and he has been granted his release.  We wish him all the best in his future endeavors.

With Super Shockmaster returning to the Phoenix brand, that makes the rosters uneven.  ‘The Ragin Cajun’ Rad Gumbo and Leon Teremoto are moved to the Tacoma brand.

The show begins back in GM Max McGillicutty’s office.  He’s looking at someone and as the camera pans, we see ‘The Ragin’ Cajun’ Rad Gumbo and his manager MJ.  Max welcomes Gumbo to Tacoma and reminds him that winners make it around here.  Gumbo replies with “Mon Ami, Losin’s not my style.  Bein’ on the A-show…dis’ is better than Mardi Gras.”  Gumbo and MJ leave the room and Max sits back and sighs.

Pyro goes off and our show is ready to begin.  The match begins with Brick making his way down to the ring to an ever-growing pop from the fans.  He’s been picking up more and more followers as of late.  Next, his opponent comes out and it’s Ghee Buttersnaps.  Ghee heads down to the ring and also gets a pop from the crowd.  In the first minute of the match, Ghee was going for a high impact move but ended up falling off the top turnbuckle and fell to the floor hitting the stairs.  After that, he was lucky to get in a few offensive moves as it was Brick controlling the match in dominating fashion (43 to 150).  With Ghee practically out on his feet, Brick connected with the Alabama Slamma and scored the pin.  Brick gets the win (18 min).  His celebration is cut short however when Scooter J rushes in from the crowd attacking Brick beating him down until a gaggle of refs from the back rushed out to protect Brick and usher Scooter J out of there.  SJ stomped off.  The fans didn’t care for the uncalled-for attack and began to boo him.

Backstage, Jazz Emmett says that 3 ladies had their chance to win the title and all 3 of them failed.  Tonight, in the MAIN event, she takes on Taylor Bella for the Ladies title and guaran-damn-tees she’s walking out with the title tonight.

We head back to the ring and Figgy Newton comes out and introduces DJ CJ Spice.  The fans pop as they head down to the ring.  As Figgy’s walking down, he sees a female fan holding a sign asking “Why Figgy Why?” (and in small print:  “did you attack Top Gun?”)  Figgy takes the sign from the fan but sets it down in front of her telling her that Winger is not on this show and has no business being mentioned.  He quickly caught up to DJ and they entered the ring.  Next, manager Ant Graham comes out and introduces Covfefe.  The two make it to the ring and Covfefe grabs a sign that reads “Bring back Magnum Kone” and tears it to shreds.  Covfefe enters the ring and he immediately goes after DJ.  He only holds the advantage for a minute or two and then DJ turned up the heat and owned Covfefe.  The match went on for 10 minutes that saw both Figgy and Graham interfering in the match and the two of them almost came to blows too.  Covfefe had just eye raked DJ and put him in the corner.  He then rushed to the other side of the ring and ran hitting a big splash.  DJ didn’t fall down but as soon as Covfefe showed his back, DJ jumped on locking in a guillotine choke.  Both men fell to the mat but DJ wouldn’t let go.  Finally, Covfefe finally had enough and tapped out.  DJ CJ Spice gets the win via submission in 10 minutes.  Ant Graham motioned to the back and out ran Dr. Red Fang.  Fang jumped in and began attacking DJ but “The Hoff” Davis Hoffmeister was out there quickly and dispatched Fang.  Fang snarled and growled at Davis and Davis took a mic telling Fang that if he wanted a match so badly, they can have one tonight.  Davis turns to Figgy and tells him to make it happen.

Backstage, the 6 Man Tag team champs (TNT, the Axe and Scooter J) are all in a room.  Axe questions what is going on with SJ.  It seems like he’s snapped.  Scooter J tells them that Brick attacked him for no reason and he was just trying to get even.  Axe tells him that happened over a month ago and Scooter J had gotten revenge at the PPV.  Scooter J looked at him like he was off his rocker.  “It’s never over man…It never ends” and Scooter J walks away.  Axe looks at TNT who’s getting ready for his match next.  “I just don’t know” Axe mutters.

TNT makes his way down to the ring to a pop from the crowd.  Next, his opponent Superstar Chic Monroe comes out and is booed.  TNT was getting beat down for the first few minutes but once the fans started to rally behind him, TNT started destroying the Superstar.  TNT was just leveling Chic with everything he had and Monroe began to panic.  TNT rushed the ropes but Chic tripped him and he went tumbling right out of the ring.  Chic ran out there and leveled TNT with a cradle facebuster. Chic rolled back in waiting for the ref to finish his count.  Once he reached 10, TNT was counted out and the match was awarded to Chic via countout decision. (9 ½ min).  Chic left and the ref went out to help TNT to the back.

Backstage, El Chango was being interviewed and he called out Ice Dagger about the shitty way he won choking him out underneath the ringside barrier.  He said that if ID wants to play dirty, he’d be happy to oblige.

We go back to the ring for the next match featuring the 3^rd member of the 6 Man tag team champions – the Axe.  Axe comes out first to a pop from the crowd.  Next, Ant Graham comes out with another member of his stable – Mason the Mangler.  Mason is sporting a face mask that is a mix between Hannibal Lecter and Bane’s (from Batman) versions.  Graham got involved early and often to prevent what happened with Covfefe and after he broke his cane over the Axe’s head (and somehow didn’t get Mason disqualified), Mason followed it up with a running knee to the face.  Axe fell to the mat and Mason made the cover but Ant rushed over and held Axe’s foot down so he couldn’t kick out.  Mason gets the 3 count and the win.  Mason rolls out of the ring and he and Graham laugh their way to the back.  Graham turns around and says that once Fang is through beating up on jobbers, he is issuing a challenge to the 6 Man champs to give his team a shot at their titles.  Axe was just irked enough to accept the match on the spot without talking to his teammates.  He eventually left.  (9 min)

Ladies Champion Taylor Bella is backstage with her manager Figgy Newton.  Taylor says that Figgy has been a good friend and manager watching her back and helping her along with her career.  Taylor says that at the PPV, she dispatched 3 of HCW ‘finest’ and tonight, she continues with her plowing through the roster.  Once she’s done and has beaten everyone in sight, it may be time for her to join her sisters on the Total Bella’s show…NAH!

Graham makes his third appearance of the night and signals to the back and as he makes his way out, the loudspeakers blare “VAMPIRE LUNGES FOR EVERYONE!” and Dr. Red Fang heads down to the ring amidst the booing from the fans.  They just don’t like this guy.  Next, music changes and Figgy Newton comes out with ½ of the World Tag Team Champions – Drew “the Hoff” Hoffmeister.  The fans pop loud for him and that increase in the noise level forced Fang and Graham to put their hands over their ears.  Davis makes his way into the ring climbing the turnbuckles but keeping a vigilant watch on Fang.  Davis put the boots to the evil vampire for the first few minutes of the match but then Ant Graham stuck his nose (and a new cane) into the match and things quickly went the way of the Vicious Vampire.  Fang turned up the heat hitting Davis with a Vampire Lunge that sent him flying out of the ring.  While on the outside, Ant began putting the boots to Davis and then handcuffed him to the ringside barrier.  Figgy ran over to try to help but the ref made him stay on the opposite side of the ring.  Davis wasn’t able to get free by the time the bell rang so he ended up getting counted out. Dr. Red Fang gets the win via DQ.   Fang and Graham left the ring laughing all the way to the back.  Figgy finally got Davis free from the cuffs but it was too late.  They left immediately after.

Graham walks in laughing and cackling about how he’s outsmarted the roster tonight and in one week, his team takes on the 6 man champs for the titles and with all the chaos that team is going through, it will be easy pickings for his team to walk out with the titles.  He laughs as the camera cuts him off.

It’s time for the main event.  Jazz Emmett makes her way down to the ring to a mixed reaction from the crowd.  Next, Figgy Newton comes out and introduces the Ladies Champion Taylor Bella.  The fans receive her with mixed reaction also but she doesn’t seem to care.  Jazz went right on the offensive stunning the champ with lefts, rights and suplexes.  Taylor thought the action was just a bit too hot and got out of the ring.  Jazz, thinking Taylor was going to bolt, hit the ropes and launched herself through the ropes connecting with a suicide dive.  She landed smack on top of Taylor who was slow to get up.  Figgy ran over trying to provide words of encouragement (maybe he was just saying ‘stay down’…we’re not sure) and Taylor did not make it back into the ring before the 10 count.  Jazz Emmett gets the win but not the title as they do not change hands on a countout.  Taylor walks out with her title intact.  She makes it to the stage and holds her title high until she is attacked by the Duchess who drops her with the “All Hail Her Majesty”.  The Duchess however didn’t celebrate too long as Phoenix Heat’s very own Southern Belle rushes over and pushes the Duchess from the stage to the floor below.  Belle grabs Taylor’s belt and holds it high as the fans boo and the show comes to an end.

HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2017 #619 – Phoenix Heat – PPV fallout

Hello fans and welcome back to our latest episode of HCW’s Phoenix Heat.  There was fallout from the PPV at our last Tacoma Thunder show and tonight’s is no different.  Pyro goes off but before the show could begin, manager J C Dykes comes out with the two title (US and TV) holding champion the Unknown Assassin who’s carrying one on each shoulder.  He’s got a live mic (uh oh…here we go)…

“My lawyer, Dewey, Cheatham and Howe, sends this injunction to your measly Wrestling Association. It says no one can strip my Champion of any belt he wins without facing a long court battle. Once in a lifetime does a Superstar come along that changes all the previous rules. The NCAA banned dunking the ball from 1967 to 1976 because of 1 great man - Lew Alcindor, later known as Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. My Champion has decided for some reason to grace your humble rings with his presence and all of you should fall at his feet in appreciation. It is time to recognize greatness in the present tense and not wait for 25 years and then declare what a Superstar UA was. We will win every belt if given the chance. The fans may loathe us now and send their death threats, but the day is coming in the Spirit of the Great Four Horsemen that the fans will begin to cheer my Champion and demand your wrestling association to match him against all champions as they will recognize the greatness you overlook presently.” Throws the pile of papers on the announcers’ desk and leaves. A few cheers are distantly heard among the catcalls and loud booing……. 

We cut back to GM Master Bull’s office and he’s on the phone with someone.  “…Yeah…do you think it’s time to bring that back?  Should we?  I mean, the guy is an ASSHAT but he is…Yeah, I know…Well, think on it and let me know….ok.”  Bull hangs up the phone and begins to ponder the contents of his last conversation (no, he’s not spilling the beans).

It’s time for our first match and Ravishing Raquel makes her way out to the ring to a decent pop from the crowd.  Next, her opponent Scarlett Phoenix makes her way down to a similar reaction.  The bell rings pretty quick and this one is off to the races.  Scarlett stayed one step ahead of Raquel throughout the match and it looked like things were going her way when she managed to hit Raquel with the Black Widow but somehow Raquel staggered over to the ropes and with Scarlett attached to her like a conjoined twin, she dumped herself and Scarlett over the top rope to the floor with Raquel landing pretty hard on top of Scarlett.  Raquel laid there trying to keep Scarlett down.  Raquel then got up and rolled back into the ring at the last possible moment just beating the 10 count but Scarlett didn’t.  Ravishing Raquel gets the win via countout.  After the match, she exits the ring and extends a hand to Scarlett who looks to the fans and then shakes it to a pop from the crowd.  Both women leave.  (14 ½ min)

Commotion is going on backstage where it seems that ‘Top Gun’ Justin Winger was getting attacked…by Figgy Newton…again.  Figgy was blasting Winger with anything he could find from a trash can to uneaten food that was left by a bunch of messy, non-cleaning up after themselves wrestlers.  Figgy kept yelling at Winger but we don’t totally understand all the hostility.  Figgy ends up leaving and Winger ends up wiping cake off his face and he is NOT happy.

Southern Belle makes her way down to the ring and she informs us about how unhappy she is.  She is pissed off that she was not included in the PPV and blames it on the ignorant fans who keep cheering for lame-asses instead of those with talent.  Belle basically insults all the women who were at the PPV and says none deserved to be there.  Madame Jade makes her way out and goes into the ring to confront Belle.  She says that each person in that fatal four way DID deserve to be there but as luck would have it, Taylor would skirt out by luck of the time limit expiring and had it gone on longer, she would be standing here confronting Belle as the Ladies Champion.  Belle begins to laugh and says Jade has no business being in the ring.  Jade challenges her to a match and this one is ready to go.  The match only gets in about 3 minutes before the ref gets un-expectantly bumped into by Belle.  She then grabbed a chair and blasted Jade with it.  She began working Jade over with the chair and as soon as she noticed the ref stirring, she threw the chair to Jade who caught it and then Belle dropped to the mat holding her head moaning.  The ref looked over seeing Belle on the mat and Jade holding the chair and he made the only call he could and disqualified Madame Jade.  Jade tried to explain Belle set her up but he pointed out she was holding the chair with Belle on the mat.  Belle rolled out of the ring and began limping to the back (selling her injury) snickering all the way.  (6 min)

Backstage, the Steel Curtain confront their manager the Ambassador about his managing Elitism.  Buzz was HOT.  “What the Hell is going on here?  Are you our manager or theirs?”  The Ambassador answered “I manage who I want however, in this case, Master Bull directed me to manage them against my better judgement.  He is the boss around here afterall.”  Starbuck leaned in “So, who are you going to manage?  Us or them?”  The Ambassador once again responded “I am YOUR manager…but I also manage them.  I know you 4 boys have a beef with one another but we’re all on the same team…MY team.  I’m not telling you what to do in this situation but at the end of the day, I’d hope you’d stay on this team so that I can do what it is I do best…lead teams to glory.”  Buzz and Starbuck looked at each other and shrugged.  Buzz said “Ok, we’ll leave things they way they are…for now but it’s in everyone’s best interest to keep them away from us.”  Starbuck leaned in and said “Word.”

We go back to the ring for more action.  First, ‘Red Hot’ Lucas Johnston comes down (haven’t seen  him in a while…looks like he got himself healthy) to a huge pop from the fans.  Next, the Ambassador comes out and introduces Roderick Rothchild.  Roderick comes out and gets a decent pop from the fans.  He tells everyone that he’s ready to kick some ass and get Rowdy…Hey, that’s it.  That is his new nickname… ‘Rowdy’ Roderick Rothchild.  The fans pop as he makes his way down to the ring.  Lucas took off like a firework and the Rowdy one had trouble keeping up.  The Ambassador then tried to get involved to help his charge out but Lucas grabbed Roderick around the waist and then ran him into the Ambassador before hitting a back suplex.  Lucas ensured Roderick’s shoulders were flush on the mat as the ref’s hand hit the mat 1…2…3.  Lucas gets the pin and has his arm raised.  Roderick gets up and looks like he’s going to attack but then settles down and extends his hand.  Lucas shakes it and the crowd pops.  Both men leave the ring.  (5 min)

It is announced that the Super Shockmaster has returned and will on the Phoenix branded show.  In fact, he makes his in-ring return later in the show.

We are back at the ring and Tobias Snake is already there.  Next, over the loudspeakers blares “Gumbo 7:30 says its suppa time bitch!” and manager MJ leads out ‘The Ragin Cajun’ Rad Gumbo.  The fans surprisingly pop for him.  He makes his way down and then climbs the turnbuckles to even more pop from the crowd.  He seems astonished.  Gumbo had things easy for the first part of the match but after getting crotched after falling on the top rope, Tobias began turning up the heat.  13 minutes in, MJ gets taken out by Tobias and that didn’t help Rad at all.  Both men ended up on the outside of the ring and Tobias hit the Dirty Deeds DDT but didn’t leave Rad out there; he threw him back into the ring.  Tobias went to the top rope trying to do something but messed up landing flat on his back.  Rad got up and locked in the New Orleans Crab and Tobias had no choice but to tap out.  ‘The Ragin Cajun’ gets the win and he’s joined by his manager MJ who looks a little worse for wear but is standing on his own two feet.  The two men eventually leave.  (15 min)

Backstage, former World Champion had some words for the new champion. “Drew the Canadian Love Machine…it’s really interesting to see how everything just sort of fell into your lap.  You got a cheap win on Sunday but tonight, we rectify that.  I can promise you, it will be my hand that is raised as the winner of tonight’s match.  Guaranteed!”

We head back to the ring for the next match.  First, we hear that all-too-familiar bellow of a laugh from the masked man known as the Super Shockmaster.  He comes out first and then is joined by his tag team partners for this 6 man match…the Ryzing Storm (Travis and Terra).   The three men head down to the ring together.  Next, music changes and the Ambassador comes out and introduces his team…the Steel Curtain (Buzz and Starbuck Steel) and they in turn introduce their partner who was a familiar staple when they held the 6 Man tag team titles – Biceps Bannerman. Both teams were booed but the Steel Curtain and Biceps were booed just a tad less because no one was cheering for the Super Shockmaster…not a soul. 

For the first 3 minutes, SS and the Ryzing Storm controlled the match (keep in mind that the Steel Curtain and Biceps have not teamed together for quite some time) but as time went on, with lots of double and triple teaming (and Biceps made the hot tag to Starbuck after a whopping 13 minutes in the ring), Starbuck and Buck got the team on the path of dominance.  The Ambassador got involved a few times which helped his team continue to dominate. The final minute of the match was pure chaos.  All 6 men were in the ring.  Super Shockmaster went to choke Starbuck against the ropes but just then Texas Wildfire came out and SS left the ring and began fighting TW all the way to the back.  Terra Ryzing locked Biceps down with a side headlock and Travis hit Buzz with a flying dropkick.  Biceps then tossed Terra out of the ring.  He made it back on only to have Starbuck hit him with the Buck-U and while Biceps kept Travis busy, Buzz tossed Terra back out of the ring where he was not able to beat the count back in.  Biceps Bannerman and the Steel Curtain win this one via countout decision.  Travis is hurled out of the ring and Biceps, the Steel Curtain and the Ambassador all stand victorious in the ring.  The crowd booed as they made their way to the back.  (22 min)

The World Champion Drew the Canadian Love Machine is backstage and he had a response for his opponent tonight.  “Sonic, you can whine and cry all you want but that won’t change the fact that 2 nights ago, I defeated you for this belt.  Tonight, my streak continues and I will be the one walking out with my title tonight.”

It’s time for our main event.   First, Sonic Blade comes out to a decent pop from the crowd.  Once in the ring, the music changes and out comes the World Champion Drew the Canadian Love Machine.  Drew soaks in the adulation from the fans and he makes his way to the ring.  He climbs each of the corner turnbuckles to a pop from the crowd.  Finally, he’s ready to get this underway.  He hands the title to the ref and the bell rings.  Sonic goes to charge in and eats a superkick from the champ.  Sonic immediately rolls out of the ring to regain his composure and shake off the effects of that kick.  He gets back in and immediately locks up Drew in a cradle going for a pin and he got close with a 2 count but Drew kicked out.   Drew got up and called for the La Casita but Sonic reversed it and sent Drew sailing over the top rope.  All of a sudden, the lights went out and we heard a loud “OHHHH” from the crowd.  When the lights came back on, Sonic was in the ring wondering what the hell just happened.  Drew was out cold on the floor and the ref counted (pretty quick actually) to 10 awarding the match to Sonic Blade but NOT the title.  The ref was not sure Sonic was innocent in what just transpired so the match came to an abrupt end.  (2 ½ min)  This of course brought out GM Master Bull.   Bull said he was not happy with how the match ended and demanded to have the footage re-shown of the attack.  It was shown multiple times and each time, it seemed like the image was become more and more clear.  Finally, Bull saw enough to call out the culprit.  “I want J C Dykes and the Unknown Assassin to get their asses out here now!”  Bull waited (rather impatiently) as the Unknown Assassin and his manager made their way out.  “If the Unknown Assassin wants to get involved in matches that he’s not part of AND wants to be on TV…guess what?  He has a match right here and now and it will be a triple threat match however NO title will be on the line.  If Sonic gets the pin, he gets a shot at any of UA’s belts (the world title is off the table) however is UA gets the win, he will get a shot at the World title at a future date.  Dykes was not happy until that last part.  A groggy CLM got to his feet and re-entered the ring.  Sonic and UA immediately went after him but Sonic got tossed out of the ring early and for a while it was Drew vs the Unknown Assassin.  Drew had the lead for the majority of the match and Sonic kept getting sent out of the ring.  Drew then got taken down and UA went to work on Sonic Blade.  UA set Sonic up for a standing crossface but got dropkicked out of the ring by Drew.   UA was pissed off and he and Dykes ended up walking off.  Drew then hit Sonic with the La Casita.  He made the cover and with a hook of the leg, got the 1-2-3.  Drew the Canadian Love Machine gets the win.  Sonic rolls out of the ring and makes his way to the back as Drew stands tall in the ring to the cheering from the fans.  With that, the show comes to an end.
