HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2017 #613 – Tacoma Thunder

Hello fans and welcome back to another installment of HCW’s Tacoma Thunder.  The show begins backstage with a meeting of the 6 Man tag team champions.  Axe, TNT and Scooter J are having a conversation.  Scooter J says that the titles come first.  Axe tells him that there is unfinished business between him and UA as well as between J and Brick.  Axe says he and TNT have J’s back.  The titles aren’t going anywhere.

Pyro goes off and GM Max McGillicutty comes out.  Max says that tonight, there will be a 4 team tournament to see who will meet the Tag Team Champions.  All of a sudden, Phoenix Heat GM Master Bull joins Max on stage.  He tells Max that he already made a match between the Steel Curtain and Elitism to see who gets the next match.  Max comments on how coincidental it is with one of Phoenix’s teams getting the next shot.  To make things fair, he will pick 2 teams to take on Bull’s two teams and THEN one of them will get a title shot.  Bull asks which two teams will be picked.  Max says that the Smashers and Ovaltine Jackson / Ghee Buttersnaps will be the teams Tacoma will put in.  Bull promises that we will see Elitism vs the Steel Curtain and he takes off.  Max leaves as the show gets ready to go but turns to add in that these matches will all be no DQ.

The first match gets ready to start and Ovaltine Jackson & Ghee Buttersnaps head down to the ring first. Next, the team of Elitism (Reid & Roderick Rothchild) head down to a pop from the crowd.  Elitism had control of the first part of the match but after the Steel Curtain came out for a distraction and Jackson and Buttersnaps took advantage of it.  After bouncing Elitism around the ring, Ghee tossed Roderick out of the ring and the Steel Curtain immediately attacked him.  Reid rushed to his brother’s aid and fought off the Curtain but the distraction lasted just long enough to get them counted out.  Buttersnaps and Ovaltine get the win via countout and they move on in the tournament.  (16 min)

Backstage, Master Bull is walking around and is in a foul mood because Elitism is out of the tournament.  He looks over at something and his mood suddenly changes.  A smile comes across his face.  What is he up to now?

We go back to the ring for our next match which is a rematch from the previous week.  First though, Dr. Red Fang makes his way down to commentary yelling “Vampire Lunges for everyone” at the fans as he makes his way to the desk.  He does his snarling and growling gimmick for a moment and then the competitors start to make their way out.  First, Pete Punsher aka the PUN-isher makes his way out and powerwalks to the ring.  Next, Brick comes out to a mixed reaction from the crowd.  The bell rings almost instantaneously and this one begins.  This one was a lot closer and Pete was no-nonsense in this match.  Brick though had no problem choking Pete on the ropes or hitting him with a low blow but not getting DQ’d. 

We cut over to Dr. Red Fang who’s been screaming because his mic was cut off.  He starts to get up but then someone from the crowd leapt over the barrier and started WAILING on Fang.  Hey…it’s our IT guy @Jowsterguy!  The fans pop as he just goes crazy on the evil vampire and Fang takes off with @Jowsterguy in hot pursuit.

Back in the match and just as Pete started a strong run, an eye rake followed up with a piledriver in the middle of the ring brought this one to an end.  Brick gets the win after he hooked the tights for extra leverage.  Brick begins to celebrate but that is cut short when Scooter J comes out and Brick once again takes off like a scalded dog.  Scooter J gets on the mic and tells the fans that at the PPV, once the Hell in a Cell is lowered, Brick will have nowhere to go and THAT will be it for him.  After Scooter J left, Pete started to make his way to the back when Covfefe came out and immediately attacked him beating him down and dragged him to the stage where he planted (poor) Pete with a black hole slam before tossing him off the stage to the pit below.  The fans booed Covfefe for the attack and his cowardice for not facing Pete face to face.

The US Champion the Unknown Assassin shows up backstage with his manager J C Dykes and is immediately confronted by GM Max McGillicutty.  Max questions why he’s here when he is on the Phoenix roster.  Dykes steps in saying that UA is the US Champion and that he can be on whatever show he wants.  Dykes reminds Max that he (Dykes) promised that the Unknown Assassin would be on every show and if he has to show up to represent the US title, so be it.   Max gives men an option.  “Fine, if you want to be here, then the Assassin MUST defend the title NEXT!”  Dykes tried to complain saying that UA didn’t have his gym bag but Max said it’s that or he leaves.  Dykes leans over and whispers something to UA who nods and then says “Fine, we’re leaving” and they turn head to the door.

We go back to the ring for the next tag qualifying match.  The Smashers (#1 and 2) come out and actually get a small pop because of who they’re facing.  Next, the Ambassador leads the Steel Curtain (Starbuck & Buzz Steel) who are booed pretty heavily.  It doesn’t take much time for the Curtain to hit the ring and attack the Smashers.  This was a very close match and all 4 men slugged it out for almost the entire 20 minutes.  Just as the match was closing in on the 20 minute mark, Elitism (Reid & Roderick Rothchild) came out and made their way to ringside.  The immediately attack Buzz distracting Starbuck who turned around only to get caught by the Steel Smasher.  Smasher #1 makes the cover and gets the 3 count with only seconds left to spare.  The Smashers move on and the Steel Curtain are out.  (19:51)

While they were making their way out of the building, they saw the Axe backstage giving an interview and UA just couldn’t resist and he attacked Axe on the set beating him down for just a few moments before security rushed in and got him out of there.  Axe was furious.

We head back to the ring for our next match.  First, Jazz Emmett comes out and she gets a small pop from the crowd.  Next, the Duchess comes out with her entourage (Lady Hermann) and the two head to the ring.  Lady Hermann is immediately sent to the back and she complained the entire way.  Both ladies pulled out all the stops and put on an entertaining match for the fans.  The Duchess tried, on a few occasions, to leave but Jazz just brought her back in.  As the match was winding down in the last few seconds, the Duchess went for a Lou Thesz press but Jazz managed to nullify it at the last moment.  Then, the bell rang bringing this one to a draw finish.  Jazz left pretty quick but as the Duchess started to make her way to the back, Ladies Champion Taylor Bella came out and attacked the Duchess beating her down and then standing over her holding her Ladies title high above her head.  The fans didn’t care for Ms. Bella’s actions and they let her know it.

GM’s Max and Bull are backstage in Max’s office and Bull says that both his teams may be out of this tournament but they are not out of action just yet.  Bull says he’s going to have Elitism and the Steel Curtain meet in some sort of specialty match with the winner challenging tonight’s tournament winner but if there is no clear cut winner tonight, one of his two teams gets the title match.  Max questions Bull’s motives and agrees to it but the match between the Steel Curtain and Elitism best be one for the record books.  Bull promises to “make it so, Number One”.  Max just shakes his head at him.

We’re back to the ring for our next match.  First, TNT makes his way out to a pop from the crowd.  Next, music changes and we hear a mechanical laugh over the loud speakers and out comes the Super Duper Shock Master.  SDSM makes his way down to the ring, gets in and attacks TNT from behind.  For the first few minutes, TNT went toe to toe with SDSM but after getting hit with a power headbutt, things started to go south for Templeton N Townsend.  As the match progressed and TNT struggled, his tag team partners Scooter J and the Axe came out to cheer him on.  That began a resurgence but it was just a little too late.  The bell rang only moments later bringing this one to a draw finish.  TNT left the ring now flanked by his teammates leaving SDSM in the ring laughing and gloating that TNT couldn’t get the job done.  The fans began to pop and SDSM thinking it was for the 6 Man champs, didn’t give it much thought.  He turned around and was in shock seeing Texas Wildfire standing there with a steel chair and he began walloping SDSM with it.  Super Duper then took off with TW in tow and the fans popping for it.

Max is still in his office and he makes a decree that unless it is officially sanctioned by either him or Master Bull, talent on one show STAYS on their show.  It’s ok if the GM’s make a match but this attacking of talent by the opposing roster has to end.

It’s time for our Main Event.  The Smashers vs Ovaltine Jackson & Ghee Buttersnaps is next with the winners (potentially) getting a title shot for the Tag Team titles.   Before the match could begin, the World Tag Team Champs Hoff N Spicy make their way down to the ring and sit at commentary.  First, Ovaltine and Ghee make their way out to a nice pop from the crowd.  Next, the Smashers come out and they are booed.  The Smashers try to sneak attack their opponents but Ghee and Ovaltine bail before any damage could be done.  In what probably surprised everyone in the building, Ghee and Ovaltine OWNED the Smashers.  They took control early on and beat the living daylights out of Smasher 1 and 2.  After about 15 minutes, the Smashers went into defense mode and basically just saved each other from pin and submission attempts.    In an act of desperation, Smasher #2 hit Ghee with a knee lift but that wasn’t enough to try for a pin so the bell rang bringing this one to a draw finish.  It seems that before leaving, Master Bull had the time limit changed from 30 to 20 minutes thereby ensuring Elitism vs the Steel Curtain will see a winner challenging for the Tag titles.

HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2017 #612 – Phoenix Heat

Hello fans and welcome back to another episode of HCW’s Phoenix Heat.  The show kicks off with Elitism making their way down to the ring.  The fans cheer for Roderick and Reid Rothchild.  Roderick takes the mic and tells the fans that good things come to those who wait.  They put the Steel Curtain under a microscope and proved they’re not the greatest team in the world they claim to be when a newbie team gives them a serious run for their money.  He says that Reid has a bombshell.  He hands the mic to Reid.  Reid says that Elitism isn’t about singles but about a team – a dominating team and for them to be that dominating team, he has to give Elitism 100%.  He announces that he is dropping the Hardcore title and he and Roderick will take on the Tag Team Champs – Hoff n Spicy -  in a non-title match.  The fans pop but things go sour when the Steel Curtain come out.  Buzz can’t believe what he’s hearing.  The Steel Curtain are multi-time tag team champions and a team who’s had 2 whole matches – one they LOST by pin get a shot at the champs? That is bull crap.  Starbuck adds in that if Elitism thinks they’re going to build a reputation off of them then they are sorely mistaken.  Starbuck says that Elitism will not use them as a stepping stone and if they really want to play in the big leagues, they’re in for a rude awakening.  Buzz leans in and says “Word” and the Curtain leave. 

GM Master Bull comes out and makes his way to the ring.  He shakes hands with Reid and Roderick.  Bull asks Reid if this is what he really wants to do and Reid says yes handing over the Hardcore title.  Elitism leaves the ring. Bull says that they will not wait long for a new champion as tonight, there will be a 4 man tournament to crown a new champion.  He announces that Ivan Dragovich, the Fiend, Leon Teremoto and ‘Top Gun’ Justin Winger will round out the matches and one will walk out tonight with gold.  He says that for the final match, hardcore rules will be in effect and to make sure a champ is crowned, he’s extending the time limit on each match to 30 minutes just in case.  He leaves and says those matches will begin…NOW.

Our show is underway with the Russian Ivan Dragovich making his way down to the ring amidst booing from the crowd.  The music changes and out comes ‘Top Gun’ Justin Winger.  He gets a pop as he heads down to the ring.  Ivan doesn’t seem to care for him so he goes right on the offensive.  Winger surprised Ivan by giving just as good as he got.  Just as the match was starting to get flowing, Ivan nailed a spinning heel kick and Winger went down.  Ivan then began yelling at the crowd not paying attention to Top Gun.  Winger got to his feet and out of nowhere, nailed Ivan with the Flyin & Stylin and rolled him up for the 1-2-3.   Ivan tried to attack Justin but Top Gun got out of the ring before any damage could be inflicted. Winger gets the win and moves on in the tournament.  (4 min)

Backstage, the Tag Team Champions are here with their manager Figaroa ‘Figgy’ Newton.  Figgy says that Hoff n Spicy are running wild and tonight, they bring their enthusiasm (and fans) to Phoenix for a real treat.  DJ CJ says that they heard a new team was in town and wanted a piece of the champs.  Guess what…they’re here.  Davis Hoffmeister adds that he’s heard that the Steel Curtain are still causing waves upset that they haven’t gotten a title shot.  Davis tells them that their manager must be inept as they’ve seen no contracts or offers come their way.  Davis tells the Curtain to stop complaining and prove they are worthy of a title match.

We head to the ring for our next match.  First, former Hardcore Champion the Fiend comes out to music from the Misfits.  He gets a loud pop as he makes his way down to the ring.  Next, the music changes and out comes Leon Teremoto.  Leon gets a pop from the crowd, just not the level that the Fiend got.  The Fiend takes the mic and tells Leon that if wants to prove he’s worthy of being a Hardcore champ, this match needs to have special rules.  He suggests they make it a ‘Falls count anywhere’ match and Leon agrees.  The Fiend hits the Project 1950 (headbutt smash) that stunned Leon. The Fiend follows it up with a dropkick.  Leon grabs a handful of hair but the Fiend press slams him into the 3^rd row.  Leon makes his way back to the ring.  The Fiend goes for a running dropkick but Leon swats him away.  The Fiend goes for a running clothesline but Leon reverses it and hits a DDT on the metal steps and then locks in the Gorilla Hug.  The Fiend is out of it and ends up tapping out.  Leon Teremoto gets the win and now goes on to fight Top Gun to see who will become the new Hardcore champ.  (5 min)

Backstage, Buzz and Starbuck Steel say they’ve heard the comments from the curtain jerkers holding their titles.  Buzz says that if they really want to see what the Steel Curtain is made of, they can watch their match later when they take on Otto Ruthless and Talon McFrosty err, I mean Frosty the Snow Man…no wait, that’s not it.   Starbuck says it doesn’t matter what their names are. Tonight, they’ll be just another victim of the Steel Curtain.  Both men lean in and say “Word”.

We go back to the ring as Southern Belle makes her way out.  She says that she’s beaten everyone on this roster as well as the Tacoma roster and wants fresh blood.  Ravishing Raquel comes out and says that it’s been a while since the two of them mixed things up and how about putting on a show now?  Belle says that Raquel is top talent and their match really should be main eventing PPV’s but since there isn’t one for a few weeks, now is good.  Belle immediately attacked Raquel slamming her into the turnbuckle multiple times and Raquel was just disoriented.  Belle took advantage of it and dominated the former Ladies and Elitist Champion.  About 10 minutes in, both ladies took the action to the outside of the ring and Raquel began tearing into Belle.  Belle started to get worried so after hitting a low blow, she handcuffed Raquel to the ringside barrier.  Belle rolled back in at the 5 count and stood there smiling and waving as Raquel struggled to get free of the handcuff.  She just got it worked free when the bell rang signaling she got counted out.  Southern Belle gets the win and starts laughing.  Raquel then hit the ring and began peppering Belle with lefts and rights and then hit the Simply Ravishing.  Belle rolled out of the ring cursing as she made her way up the ramp.  Raquel celebrated with the fans before leaving.  (10 ½ min)

Backstage, manager J C Dykes is with the US Champion the Unknown Assassin.  Dykes says that by hook or crook, he will figure out a way to get the Unknown Assassin on EVERY show.  He will do whatever it takes…including stepping on people or sabotaging careers…the Unknown Assassin will be the FACE of HCW and NOT just the little Phoenix branch.  He tried to rattle on more but the camera cut off but audio was still going.  “What in the hell is going on?  What type of technology are you using?  Dell?”  Audio finally shut off silencing him…for now.

As we get ready for the next match, Otto Ruthless and Talon McFrost have already made their way down to the ring getting a so-so reaction from the crowd.  Next, the Steel Curtain come out with their manager the Ambassador and the fans boo the crap out of them.  Buzz and Starbuck flip off the crowd as they make their way down to the ring.  McFrost didn’t care for the comments made about him earlier and they actually took the match to the Steel Curtain much to the surprise of, well, everyone.  The Steel Curtain did get in quite a bit of double teaming action but so did their opponents.  About 9 minutes in, the Curtain pulled Talon out of the ring and hit him with a double powerbomb through the announce table.  While the ref was admonishing them, the Ambassador jumped into the ring and using a rope, he choked Otto out.  He escaped the ring just as the ref and Starbuck were returning.  Starbuck picked him up and hit a hangman DDT and then covered him for the win.  Starbuck and Buzz Steel get the win with an exclamation point for emphasis. (10 min)

“Top Gun” Justin Winger is backstage and he says that tonight is his night.  He will dominate like his earlier match and will prove to the world that he is the next big thing.

The next match gets ready to kick off and Elitism – Reid and Roderick Rothchild – make their way out to a decent pop from the crowd.  Next, Figgy Newton leads out the World Tag Team Champions Hoff n Spicy – Davis ‘the Hoff’ Hoffmeister and DJ CJ Spice out.  DJ gets on the mic and tells everyone he made a discovery and that is he figured out the full names of the Rothchild brothers.  He asks the fans if they want to hear it and they respond with a solid ‘YES’.  DJ then tells the fans to say hello to Reid Renfield Rothchild and Roderick Remington Rothchild.  The champs, Figgy and the fans all have a good chuckle.  Reid is in the ring and he’s just slapping his knee laughing.  He takes a mic.  “Ha Ha, oh that’s great.  What did you do?  Look us up on Linked In?  Did you do an Ancestry.com search on us or are you just trolling us on Twitter?  You two are regular Sherlock Holmes.  How about you get down here so we can show you what we’re made of?”  The champs and Figgy all head down and the match begins immediately.  The champs took control early and with Figgy’s influence, dominated the match.  About 12 minutes in, the Steel Curtain came out and went to sit at commentary.  That must have lit a fire under Elitism that they started taking it to the champs.  Figgy then got involved and distracted Roderick who began chasing him around the ring.  As Roderick was making his way around one side, Buzz and Starbuck leapt up and blindsided him beating him down.  They hit him with a double powerbomb on the outside of the ring and then rolled him back in.  The ref just got Reid out of the ring.  DJ ran over and made the cover hooking the leg and getting the 1…2…3.  Hoff n Spicy get the win.  The Steel Curtain immediately got in the ring and began having words with the champs.  The words quickly escalated into fisticuffs and a brawl was underway.  Reid (and eventually Roderick) all joined in the fray and security had to get in there and break things up.  The Steel Curtain were removed first followed by Elitism and finally the champs.  (16 min for the match; additional 10 for the aftermath)

Backstage, Master Bull said that things were escalating too quickly between Elitism and the Steel Curtain so he said that a match will take place between the two teams and the winner will get the next shot at the championships.

It’s finally time for the main event.  First, “Top Gun” Justin Winger comes out to a pop from the fans.  He walks by a female fan holding a sign (have we seen her before?) that reads “I’ll be your Wing man”.  He smiles at her and then gets into the ring.  Next, Leon Teremoto comes out and he too gets about an equal pop from the crowd.  The ref announces that this match will be a Lights Out match.  Winger started off like a rocket and only let Leon get ONE offensive move in.  Winger was showboating to the crowd and he didn’t see…what the heck…Figgy Newton making his way down to the ring.  He leaned over to Leon and told him something.  Leon got up and immediately distracted the ref.  Figgy then jumped into the ring and hit Winger with a baseball bat knocking him down.  He slid the bat over to Leon who blasted Winger once with it.  The ref began counting 1..2..3..4..5..6..7..8..9..10.  Justin Winger is counted down and out and the match and the Hardcore title are awarded to Leon Teremoto.  Leon celebrates with the title and the fans pop while Figgy walks up the ramp smirking.  The show came to an end.

HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2017 #611 – Tacoma Thunder

Hello fans and welcome back to our next episode of HCW’s Tacoma Thunder.  Pyro goes off and GM Max McGillicutty heads to the ring where a table and chairs have been set up.  Max gets on the mic thanking the fans for attending and then says that they are kicking off today’s show with a contract signing.  Max then introduces the challenger for the World title shot at the PPV – Drew the Canadian Love Machine.  Drew comes out to such a huge pop from the crowd it’s unbelievable.  Next, Max calls out the World Champion Sonic Blade.  Sonic comes out to a pop also – just not as deafening as Drew’s was.  Max has both men sit down and tells us that this will be the contract signing for the match at the PPV.  Drew signs it first and then Sonic.  Both men stand up and shake hands but the moment is upended when ‘Mountain Man’ Junior Huber comes out.  Junior says that Sonic has to make it past him if he even wants to make it to the PPV.  Sonic comments and says that if Junior is ready right now, he’s ready to kick off the show with a World title match!  The fans pop.  Junior, feeling put on the spot, tries to back out but ends up heading to the ring taking his time.  This allowed Drew to go sit at ringside, Max to leave and the crew to clean up the ring.  By the time Junior made it down, the ring was cleared and the match was ready to go.

Match #1:  World Title match between Sonic Blade and Junior Huber.  Huber starts off by hitting a delayed vertical suplex and then he started to showboat.  Sonic was quick to recover and hit Junior with a dropkick that sent him flying out of the ring.  Junior landed on his feet but immediately grabbed a chair and went after Sonic.  The ref demanded he drop it but refused so he was disqualified.  Sonic wins the match in 60 seconds via DQ.  Just then, Ferb Huber, another member of the clan, ran down and attacked Sonic.  The beatdown didn’t last long as Drew left commentary and helped Sonic clear the ring of the Hubers.  Max appeared back on stage and said that in tonight’s main event, Sonic and Drew will take on Junior and Ferb in a tag team match.  The Huber’s left and Drew and Sonic also departed moments later as the fans popped for them.

As we are waiting on our next matches’ opponents, Dr. Red Fang makes his way to commentary.  I guess he’s going to be behind the mic yet again. 

Match #2:  Newcomer Brick makes his way down to the ring.  Prior to this evening’s event, Max made sure that Scooter J had the night off.  Max wants to see if this guy has it or not without Scooter J potentially throwing a wrench into the plan.  Next, Pete Punsher makes his way out.  He has a mic.  “You know, when I cracked puns, you all hated it.  Now, I gave it up and you all still won’t cheer for me.  Since you won’t back me and since I don’t give a rat’s ass what you think anymore…guess what…They’re back.  How do you make antifreeze?  You steal her blanket! Ha Ha.  Here’s another…what does a house wear?  A Dress.  HA HA.  Here’s a doozy…What did ET’s mother say to him when he got home?  Where on Earth have you been?  HAHAHAHHA.  Man, I crack myself up.”  Pete heads to the ring and is greeted by the all-too-familiar sound of booing from the fans.  For about 15 minutes, Pete and Brick went toe to toe without either man getting a leg up on the other.  The camera panned to commentary as something was going on.  Someone in the trailer pipes in something through the headphones.

Fang:  “You dare disturb Dr. Red Fang?!?! I should clothesline you out of your shoes! @jowsterguy better get over there and help you!”

Back to the match, Brick hit a HUGE spinebuster on Pete that shook the ring.  Now, the fans started to pay closer attention.   Brick then nailed the Alabama Slamma and went for the pin but Pete kicked out at 1.  Fang then started to get loud again.

Fang:  “HCW is just a side gig for me. No one there is worthy of being in the ring with me.”

Brick then came back with a missile dropkick and Pete went for a PUN-t to the head but Brick nullified it.  Fang got loud again.

Fang (having issues with his headphones):  “@jowsterguy: work faster! IT isn't that hard.”

With that, Dr. Red Fang got up and stormed off to the back again. 

As the clock was nearing the conclusion of the match, Pete went for the Freezer Burn but Brick nullified it in the last few minutes.  The bell rang and both men slumped into opposite corners from exhaustion.  The crowd then popped as Scooter J came in through the crowd and went after Brick who, after the adrenaline kicked in, took off like a rocket with Scooter J following wielding a steel chair.  (20 min draw)

This time the camera follows Dr. Red Fang and he goes to the trailer where @jowsterguy is at and he attacks the poor technician with brutal ferocity.  After the brutal attack, Fang stands over the technician screaming “VAMPIRE LUNGES FOR EVERYBODY…especially that fool @jowsterguy.”  Fang snarls as security rushes in to protect the tech from further harm.

Backstage, Drew the Canadian Love Machine and Sonic Blade are getting ready for their match.  Sonic thanks Drew for stepping in to assist and Drew says he’s got the champs’ back however this doesn’t make them buddies or friends.  There is still business to conduct between the two and he wants the World title back.  Sonic says that once they dispose of the Hubers, things will go back to normal between the two of them.

Muscles Weasley comes out for his match going the singles route tonight.  His opponent comes out to his awful music “Ice Dagger Baby” and he saunters down to the ring amidst the booing from the fans.  He doesn’t seem to care.  Dagger had a slight advantage after going right on the offensive but Weasley stayed right there with him.  A few minutes in, Dagger hit some diving elbow drops.  Weasley came back hit a diving double foot stomp.  ID recovered pretty quick and locked in the Yukon Cloverleaf.  ID cinched in the move as Weasley screamed in pain.  ID then grabbed the rope for extra leverage and that is all that was needed for Weasley to tap out.  Ice Dagger gets the win via submission in only 4 minutes.

GM Max McGillicutty is back in his office and says that even though Scooter J had the night off, he just couldn’t stay away.  Max says that he doesn’t think the match between Brick and Pete got enough airtime so for next week, he’s going to put them in a match again but this time give them a 30 minute time limit.  He is then interrupted by Scooter J who says that he wants Brick in a match.  Max tells him that if he can go one show without attacking Brick (yeah, he knows Brick started it), then he’ll give him a match – any kind he wants.  Scooter J’s eyes light up.  “Any match?”  Max says yes.  “Done” Scooter J responds. Max asks him what kind of match he wants.  “Hell in a Cell” Scooter J says and smiles as he leaves Max’s office.

It’s time for our Main Event.  First, Mountain Man Junior Huber and his brother Ferb make their way out to the ring and the fans voice their displeasure.  Next, Drew the Canadian Love Machine and World Champion Sonic Blade come out at the same time and the place goes bananas.  Drew and Sonic enter the ring and the Hubers immediately attack them however Drew and Sonic took the match to the Huber Clan.  Drew and Sonic performed like a well-oiled machine.  Drew and Sonic kept Junior in the ring solo without allowing Ferb to get in.  After practically nullifying anything that he tried to do, Junior decided he’d had enough and walked out of the match getting himself counted out.  The match ends pretty quickly in 4 minutes via count out.  Ferb, however, was not done and he went to attack Sonic with a chair but the champ quickly disposed of Ferb chasing him off with a chair.  Drew turns around to see Sonic wielding a chair and he immediately hits the mat thinking Sonic was going to hit him.  Drew rolls out of the ring yelling “What in the hell are you doing?”  Sonic tried to explain it was to ward off Ferb but Drew ended up backing away and up the ramp as Sonic stood alone.

HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2017 #610 – Phoenix Heat

Hello fans and welcome back to another episode of HCW’s Phoenix Heat.  GM Master Bull comes out as pyro goes off starting off the show.  He thanks everyone for showing up and says that Max beat him to the punch about the PPV at the end of the month but he says he will have some exclusive announcements that he gets the lead on and that will be forthcoming.  With that, the show is ready to go.

The first match starts off with Felicia Cummings making her way down to the ring.  Next, her opponent Lexy Flexx makes her way down.  The fans are mixed on their reactions to Lexy.  For about 8 minutes, Lexy controlled the tempo of the match but then Felicia hit a sitout facebuster and that pretty much ended the offensive run of Lexy.  Felicia kept the heat on and then after she hit Lexy with a running kneelift that almost took Lexy’s head off, Felicia made the cover and hooked the leg getting the 3 count.  Felicia leaves with her arms raised over her head as the fans booed her.  (14 min)

Backstage, Ladies Champion Taylor Bella and her manager Figaroa ‘Figgy’ Newton are in Master Bull’s office and they are trying to get him to nullify the triple threat match.  Bull says “No can do”.  Taylor and Figgy storm out.  Outside the office, ‘Top Gun’ Justin Winger walks over and he tries to hit on Taylor.  She snorts and rolls her eyes and walks off.  Figgy stands there watching and he’s not happy.

We’re on to our second match.  First, ‘Red Hot’ Lucas Johnston comes out to a big pop from the crowd.  Next, manager MJ comes out and introduces ‘The Ragin Cajun’ Rad Gumbo as the loudspeaker blares out “Gumbo 7:30 says its suppa time, bitch”.  Gumbo and MJ make their way down to the ring as some fans really like him and others are not impressed.  Lucas started off stunning Gumbo with some forearm shots.  Lucas then arm dragged Rad across the ring.  Rad then “pretended” he got hurt and as the ref went to check on him, MJ choked Lucas out in the corner until he was practically unconscious.  MJ let him go and Lucas fell to the mat.  Rad miraculously recovered and went for the pin and got the 1-2-3.  MJ joined Rad in the ring and the two celebrated their “win” briefly before leaving to booing from the fans.  (3 min)

Music hits and out comes ‘The Elitist’ Reid Rothchild.  He gets in the ring and tells the fans that “Elitism” will rule the world.  Reid says that joining him will be his new tag team partner who just so happens to be his brother and together, they, as “Elitism” will reign supreme.  Reid then introduces Roderick Rothchild.  Roderick comes out and the fans sort of pop for him.  He joins Reid in the ring and the two shake hands.  Roderick then tells the world that he’s ready to make an impact and says that the only way to make a name for yourself is to challenge the top team and he issues a challenge to the Steel Curtain.  Reid smiles and says “When you’ve got it, you’ve got it and tonight, we show the Steel Curtain that we’re the next big thing.”  Elitism then leaves the ring to a mixed reaction from the crowd.

Match #3 begins with Talon McFrost making his way down to the ring.  Next, “Dude USA” Mick Rude makes his way down to a pop from the crowd.  McFrost was the aggressor in this match and scored multiple near falls hitting “The Stone Cold”.  Talon kept up the pressure and thought he had it locked in after hitting driving elbow drops onto the sternum of Rude.  Rude somehow shook it off and grabbed Talon and locked him in the surfboard.  Right in the middle of the ring and with nowhere else to go, Talon tapped out.  Rude released him and stood, exhausted, and had his arm raised as the victor.  He left to the back to a pop from the crowd.  (13 min)

Backstage, TV champion Phat Sol calls out Biceps Bannerman for the attack after his successful title defense.  Phat says Biceps is just mad that he no longer is a contender and was just disgruntled.  Phat says that he’s not letting Biceps’ cheap shot take away from his title reign and promises that if Biceps gets involved in his business again, he’ll be more than ready to respond.

Match #4 is up next.  Jesse California comes out to a pop from the crowd probably only because of who is opponent is.  Next, 5^th Column member Baron von Blood comes out and he’s, yep, you guessed it, booed.  Jesse laughs at the Baron who just attacks him.  Jesse fought him off dropping him with multiple jumping elbow drops.  Baron then tried to eye rake Jesse but Jesse nullified it.  Baron eye raked Jesse this time but even “blinded”, Jesse locked in a bodyscissors sleeperhold and Baron flailed around trying to break the hold but it wouldn’t give so he ended up tapping out.  Jesse gets the win in just 3 minutes.  He celebrates in the ring but Baron knocks him down.  He then calls down his 5^th Column teammates and Oswald Zimmerman and Karl Braun rush down and all three men beat Jesse down.  Finally, refs and security came out from the back and got the Column to stop their assault.  The Column left while Jesse had to be taken to the back on a stretcher.  (3 min for the match; 5 extra for the aftermath)

Manager J C Dykes cuts a promo against the Axe with the United States Champion the Unknown Assassin standing right behind him. “Do you know what you got yourself into?  This man will be your pain and suffering.  He will destroy you and when he’s done and you’re broken, you’ll be put out to the curb like tomorrow’s garbage pickup.  The champ will give you a preview when he defends the US title against Butch Huber and destroys him too.”

Match #5 is ready to go and making their debut as a new team, “Elitism” (Reid and Roderick Rothchild) make their way down to the ring and they get a decent pop.   Reid is wearing his Hardcore title.  Next, the Steel Curtain (Buzz and Starbuck Steel) along with their manager the Ambassador, make their way out to booing from the crowd.  Buzz gets right into Roderick’s face and as soon as the bell rings, the two begin slugging it out and both take it to the outside of the ring.  Roderick catches Buzz with an airplane spin and then unceremoniously dumps him on the floor.  Roderick rolls back in at the 8 count but Buzz isn’t able to make it back in and he gets counted out.  Elitism gets their first win albeit by countout decision in just one minute.  Starbuck and the Ambassador are irate.  Starbuck demands a rematch right now against them.  Reid says that the Ambassador must leave ringside if they want this to happen.  Starbuck, without pause, accepts almost immediately.  The Ambassador leaves but he’s not all that happy about it.  Starbuck tells Reid to get in the ring and tells them to try that again but this time in a no DQ/countout match. Much to the dismay of the Steel Curtain, Elitism hung right in there with them and no matter what they did, the Curtain just couldn’t capitalize in anything.  Just past the 12 minute mark, the Ambassador came out and drew the attention of the ref who kept demanding he leave.  Right about then, the Steel Curtain hit double piledrivers on Reid and Roderick on the outside of the ring injuring both men.  Reid was left in a heap while Roderick was dragged back into the ring for more damage.  Starbuck mockingly rolls Roderick up in a small package and hooks the tights (hey…that’s illegal) as the ref counted 1-2-3.  The Steel Curtain steal another win.  While they were standing over Roderick gloating, they didn’t see Reid sneak in and level both Starbuck and Buzz with steel chair shots sending them scurrying out of the ring like scalded dogs.  Reid helped his brother up and they stood tall while the Curtain snarled and cursed at them as they backed up the ramp.   (13 min)

Butch Huber talks how tonight he knocks the Unknown Assassin off his high horse and takes the title and there’s nothing UA or Dykes can do about it.

It’s time for our main event.  First, the challenger Butch Huber comes out to a mixed reaction from the crowd.  Next, the US Champion the Unknown Assassin and his manager J C Dykes make their way out.  Dykes crosses his arms and taps his foot in annoyance as security comes out and lines the ramp that allows the champ and his manager to walk to the ring unmolested.  It, however, did not stop the fans from throwing stuff at them as they walked by.  This was by far the roughest match watching the two just brawl their way through.  They fought all over the ring and around the ring.  Butch introduced UA to the ringside bell (GONG) the hard way and you could tell he got busted open from the blood dripping out from under his mask.  The ref didn’t see it as Dykes caused a distraction at the wrong time.  This did not stop the Unknown Assassin from finishing the match as it only made him that much more determined.  As the match went on, Dykes would throw in his two cents giving UA a momentary upper hand.  During one of these sessions between Dykes and UA, the champ was handed something he quickly hid away.  Butch comes in and hits a Gator roll but UA blasted Butch with an English forearm strike that looked a lot more powerful than it should have.  UA made the cover and the ref counted 1…2…3.  Unknown Assassin is victorious in the defense of his title.   UA and Dykes celebrate in the ring until the Axe shows up on the stage ruining his moment.  Axe stands there smiling as the show comes to an end.

HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2017 #609 – Tacoma Thunder

Hello fans and welcome back to another episode of HCW’s Tacoma Thunder.  GM Max McGillicutty comes out to a pop from the fans.  Max lets us know that in addition to a #1 contenders match for the Ladies title, we’ll also see a Tacoma battle royal to see who will get the next shot as US Champion the Unknown Assassin.  He also announces, much to the delight of the fans, that our October PPV – Halloween Scream – will be taking place right here in Tacoma (pop) on 10/29.  The PPV will consist of matches from both rosters.  With that out of the way, he thanks the fans for attending and leaves while pyro goes off. 

Match #1:  Roster Battle Royal.  The Tacoma men’s roster all make their way out to the ring but not everyone enters.  The bell rings and everyone begins fighting – including those on the outside. 

Things were moving along until Phoenix Heat’s very own Texas Wildfire rushed in from the crowd and when the Super Duper Shockmaster saw him, he jumped over the top rope eliminating himself.  Wildfire took off after his much to the fan’s delight.

Also, things got more interesting when Covfefe got assistance from Brick eliminating Scooter J.  Covfefe then just stared at Brick and then hurled him over the top rope…right in front of Scooter J.  Brick turned around slowly and his eyes went wide as Scooter J began opening a can of whoop ass on him.  Brick took off through the crowd with Scooter J in hot pursuit.

The crowd also popped pretty huge when Ovaltine Jackson eliminated Dr. Red Fang.  Fang was not happy.  He also got a pop a few minutes later after eliminating Covfefe.

The last two in the ring were El Chango and the Axe.  Axe nails a power punch but gets stunned after El Chango connects with a spinning heel kick.  El Chango then locked in the Muta lock but Axe stumbled his way over to the ropes and unceremoniously dumped El Chango to the floor.  The bell rings and the winner of the Tacoma battle royal and next in line for a US title shot will be the Axe.  Axe takes a mic and says that he’s officially announcing that he will cash in this shot at the Halloween Scream PPV.  The fans pop as he makes his way to the back.  (80 minutes)

Backstage, Scooter J meets up with Max and tells him that he just doesn’t want a match; he wants BLOOD!  Max is a little apprehensive not knowing what he can do or what value he’ll bring to the brand so he wants to see him in a match first.  Scooter J says “Well, then I’d better have the night off or all you’ll see is my beating the crap out of him.”  Scooter J then walks away.

Match #2:  Lavender Gooms vs Missy Chick.  Missy makes her way out first to a mixed reaction from the crowd.  Lavender comes out next to a similar reaction.  Lavender had a slight lead for the majority of the match but as the clock began winding down, Missy began an offensive run that stunned Ms. Gooms.   Within the last few moments of the match, Lavender connected with a Press and Slam but Missy nailed an Exploder Suplex and was sure to finish Lavender off but the bell rang before she could make the pin.  This one ends in a draw.  Both ladies left without further incident but did receive pops from the crowd.  (20 min draw)

World Champion Sonic Blade makes an appearance and says that he’s picked the individual who he wants to defend his title at the PPV…he says he chose…Drew the Canadian Love Machine.  He says the two of them will have a contract signing at the next show but before that, he’s going to defend his title against Mountain Man Junior Huber in what will prove to be a tough battle but he’s sure he’ll persevere. 

It’s time for our Main event with 20 minutes remaining on today’s show.  This will be the #1 contenders match between Starr Vixen vs the Duchess.  First, Ladies Champion Taylor Bella comes out and goes to sit at commentary.  Starr makes her way out first to a pop from the crowd.  Next, the Duchess comes out and is booed pretty heavily but she doesn’t let it affect her.  She’s all business tonight and she proved it in the ring but Starr managed to kick out of every pin attempt and that frustrated the Duchess.  It didn’t help that Taylor was taunting both women from the commentary desk distracting them from the match.  Finally, in the last few moments, the Duchess manages to nail a superkick on Starr and just as she went for the pin, Taylor ran over and put Starr’s foot on the ropes breaking the pin and allowing the time limit to expire.  The Duchess was extremely frustrated.  Taylor got on the mic and said that if two of Tacoma’s ‘best’ couldn’t beat each other, then neither should get a match against her.  She begins to walk away but then GM Max McGillicutty comes back out.  “Taylor, you are right about one thing…the match between the Duchess and Starr Vixen did not flush out a top contender but it did flush out TWO top contenders.  I’m officially announcing that at the PPV, Taylor Bella will defend the Ladies title in a Triple Threat match.  The fans pop huge while Taylor screams “NO!” as the show comes to an end.

HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2017 #608 – Phoenix Heat

Hello fans and welcome back to our show – Phoenix Heat.  Pyro goes off and GM Master Bull makes his way out to the ring.  He thanks everyone for attending and promises a show that will blow their socks off.  He is interrupted by manager J C Dykes.  Dykes takes the mic from Bull forcibly.  Dykes complains to Bull about US Champion the Unknown Assassin not being on every show.  Bull tells Dykes that if that is the case, UA will be required to defend his title at every show.  “That’s unfair!” screams Dykes.  Bull replies “so is being on every show.”  Dykes relents but tells the GM that he’s rue that decision.  Bull leaves to get this show moving.

The show kicks off with the Fiend making his way out to music from the Misfits.  The crowd pops for him.  Next, his opponent and other fan favorite Outback Oscar makes his way out and the crowd also pops for him.  Oscar looked strong in the first two minutes but after the Fiend hit the Project 1950, it was all the Fiend.  Fiend dropped every move in his arsenal and shone like a star.  Oscar tried to get some momentum back by laying in chops to the chest (WOOOOOO) but the Fiend nailed the Last Caress.  As Oscar stumbled to his feet, Fiend nailed a running clothesline and made the cover and got the 1-2-3.  The Fiend gets the win in dominating fashion.  After the match, he extended his hand and Oscar shook it much to the delight of the fans.  (12 min)

The Omegatron flashes a promo “Elitism will reign supreme”.  Hmm, wonder what that means.

It’s time for our next match.  First out is the newest member of the roster yet to debut and he’s known as ‘Top Gun’ Justin Winger.  Winger was actually backstage at the first Phoenix Heat show but for whatever reason, he didn’t get used.  The fans give him a warm reception.  Next, his opponent comes out and it’s Leon Teremoto.  Winger started off slow against the veteran but after Winger hit a flying dropkick and got a near 2 count, things started to go the newcomer’s way.  After that, Winger and Leon were practically even in matching each other move for move.  Winger had connected with the Stylin’ and Flyin’ but Leon tossed him over the top rope and Winger landed hard on the ground.  Unfortunately, it took too long for him to catch his breath and he got counted out.  Leon gets the win via CO in 14 minutes.  After the match, Leon went to leave but Winger stopped him questioning the illegal activity.  Leon didn’t want to sit around and gibber jabber with him so he popped him once in the mouth and then turned to leave.  Winger then nailed Leon with a knee to the back that sent him out of the ring.  Winger then went to the top turnbuckle and as the fans popped HARD, he launched hitting and connecting with a moonsault.  The fans began their ‘Holy Shit’ chants and Winger got to his feet and took in the applause from the crowd.  He left and Leon got helped to his feet and was assisted to the back.

Texas Wildfire is being interviewed and he comments on the last thing the Super Duper Shockmaster said about him.  TW said he was tired of SDSM hiding behind a different brand in a different state.  He told SDSM that if he wants him in the ring, he’s right HERE.

The next match is ready to get underway and Red McNulty had already made his way out to the ring cursing at the fans as he climbed into the ring.  Next, over the loudspeakers blares “Gumbo 7:30 says it’s suppa time bitch!” and the ‘Ragin Cajun’ Rad Gumbo and his manager MJ make their way out.  The fans popped pretty good for Gumbo and he sauntered down to the ring.  McNulty wasted no time in attacking Gumbo.  Gumbo took his time in getting back into the swing of things and with MJ at his side, he eventually blew McNulty away.  The match went on a lot longer than anyone expected and Red was getting frustrated so he removed his eye patch and began choking Gumbo with the strap.  Gumbo got out of it and slapped on the Cottonmouth Clutch but before he could try for a pin, the bell rang bringing this one to a draw finish.  McNulty, not satisfied with the finish, tried to continue to attack but Gumbo sidestepped him and with MJ pulling down the top rope, Red was hit by the Cajun clothesline that sent him tumbling to the floor.  Red mumbled and cursed as he made his way to the back.  Rad celebrated briefly and then he and MJ left.  (20 min draw).

Southern Belle is backstage and she is fuming.  She complains that her loss of the Ladies title was all because she didn’t want to move to Tacoma.  “Why would I want to go to that god-forsaken hell hole?”  Master Bull walks in and says that Belle will eventually get a rematch but if she’s got so much frustration pent up, maybe she needs a match tonight.  Belle says she’ll take whatever.

Texas Wildfire comes out first for the next match and the crowd pops for him.  Next, his opponent the Crocodile Hunter makes his way out.  Both men are fan favorites and the crowd is not sure who they want to cheer for.  It didn’t take long for TW to really blow things up and he dominated the match.  Croc had a hard time keeping up.  A Bionic elbow smash from TW on Croc almost resulted in a near fall.  Croc tried to rush at TW and TW used that momentum to send Croc flying and crashing right into the turnbuckle.  He fell back in and TW went for the cover and got an easy 3 count.  Texas Wildfire gets the win!  After the match, TW helped Croc to his feet and the two shook hands.  Croc raised TW’s arm as the victor and both men left the ring.  (11 min)

TV Champion Phat Sol is backstage and he says the main event is his tonight and he will impress the world by taking on and defeating ‘Perfect Pecs’ Stoddard.  He said he worked too hard to get to this point to not walk out with his title.

Southern Belle storms out to the ring first and the fans are not all that pleased with her flippant attitude.  Next, Scarlett Phoenix makes her way out and Belle was in the ring like “Are you kidding me?  Is this all we have here?”  Scarlett gets in the ring and right into Belle’s face.  Belle shoved her away and the bell rang almost immediately.  Belle was definitely the aggressor immediately throwing Scarlett out of the ring and crashing into the steel steps.  Scarlett struggled with any offense after that and Belle just kept tearing into her.  She then threw Scarlett out of the ring again and this time ran her into the steel post before hurling her into the crowd.  Belle then nonchalantly rolled back in the ring and laid there on her side propped up leaning on her fist waiting for Scarlett to get back in but she never did.  Belle gets the win via countout and she gloats that she is the uncrowned Ladies Champion and promises to get her title back – by hook or crook.  (4 min)

Perfect Pecs Stoddard is backstage and he says he’s pumped and ready to win the TV title again.  Tonight, it will be nothing but pain and suffering for Phat Sol whether he likes it or not.

It’s time for our main event.  First, the challenger Perfect Pecs Stoddard comes out and is booed by the fans.  Next, the champs’ music hits and Phat Sol makes his way down holding his title high. 

Biceps should attack both men after the match and stand tall.  For the first 5 minutes of the match, both men were about even but then Phat hit Pecs with the Phat’s Enough and things dramatically went the champs’ way.  Phat continued to dominate the match and the longer it went on, the more confident Phat got.  As the match was nearing the conclusion, Phat hit the 10 Beats of the Bodran and got a 2 count.  Pecs got up and tried for a rope hung running knee lift but Phat reversed it and hit a jaw jacker instead.  Phat made the quick cover and hooking the leg, he got the 1-2-3.  Phat Sol is successful in his first title defense.  (19 min).  As Phat was celebrating, former champion Biceps Bannerman rushed out and attacked him leveling him with power clotheslines followed by a HUGE splash.  Biceps grabbed the title and he stood over the prone form of Phat as the show came to an end.

HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2017 #607 – Tacoma Thunder

Hello fans and welcome back to our show – Tacoma Thunder.  We have a great show for you tonight with the stars of ‘Thunder’ taking center stage.  Pyro goes off and the show begins with no interruption.

Match #1:  Terra Ryzing comes out and is booed.  He flips off the fans.  Next, El Chango comes out and the fans pop for him.  Terra began with a vicious eye rake and thought that was going to give him the lead but El Chango took the fight to him and outshone his competitor.  Terra locked in headlock trying to slow the offense of El Chango but the masked mam slipped out of it and took Terra down with a flying spinning heel kick.  El Chango made the cover and got the easy 1-2-3.  El Chango is victorious.  He celebrated with the fans as he made his way to the back.  (14 min)

Former Hardcore Champion Dr. Red Fang and his manager Ant Graham storm into GM Max McGillicutty’s office and Fang threatens to quit after losing the belt to the returning ‘Elitist’ Reid Rothchild.  When Max tries to encourage it/calling his bluff, Graham and Fang then announce that a break is being taken from the ring and Fang will be hitting the announce desk.  Fang and Graham then storm out.  Wait…what?

The next match is a 6 man battle and the Muscles Trio make their way out to a pop from the crowd.  Next, the 6 Man Champs Scooter J, the Axe and TNT make their way out to even a bigger pop from the crowd.  Axe and TNT started walking down a few seconds earlier than Scooter J but before he could join his teammates, a fan jumped the barrier and attacked Scooter J dropping him hard with a piledriver on the stage.  Security got out there but the damage was done.  The fan was arrested and taken backstage.  GM Max McGillicutty comes out and says he’s postponing the match until later in the evening.  Everyone eventually leaves.

We move on to our next match which will be a 3 way battle to see who will go on to meet Ladies Champion Taylor Bella for the championship.  First, Lavender Gooms makes her way out to a pop from the crowd.  Next, Starr Vixen makes her way out and the crowd pops for her.  Finally, the Duchess makes her way out and she has a mic and calls herself the ‘face’ of the Ladies division here in Tacoma.  She says she’ll prove it tonight defeating the two wannabees.  She makes her way down and is booed pretty heavily.

The three women put on a show that had the fans enthralled.  People did not want to sit down during this match.  Although Lavender contributed to the show, it really became a brawl between the Duchess and Starr Vixen.  The time limit was extended to 30 minutes and they used every second.  After Lavender dropkicked the Duchess out of the ring, Starr went for a running double axe handle smash but Lavender nullified it just as the bell rang bringing this one to a time limit draw.  Max came back out and said that a top contender still couldn’t be determined so he said that one more match will take place between the Duchess and Starr (best performances on the show) next week and then we will have a top contender.  Everyone left but Lavender was a little disappointed for not making the final cut.  (30 min)

Max walks to the back and interacts with security holding that ‘fan’ who attacked Scooter J earlier.  The fan goes by the name Brick and is told he’s being arrested.  Brick says he has an alternate suggestion…give him a match.  He proved he’s smart and calculating.  Max asks why he would do that.  Brick responds that if Max gives him the shot, he will prove he’s the best.  Max tells security to let him go and Brick will get his shot at Scooter J when he’s back.

We get ready to go back to the ring.  With Scooter J out of commission (but it seems he’ll be ok), the match has now become a tag team match.  Two members from the Muscles Trio – Muscles Thorpe and Muscles McGuire make their way out.  Next, the Axe and TNT make their way down and the match gets right underway.  The champs had control early on but the Muscles duo started to give them a run for their money.  About 15 minutes in, ‘Bad News’ Marvin Barnes makes his way out and attempts to attack the Axe but he turns and ends up taking down and injuring TNT leaving the Axe to fight solo against the Muscles.  Axe held his own and ended up taking the fight to the 20 minute time limit.  After the match, Barnes went after the Axe but Axe took Barnes down with the Axe and Axe stood tall while Barnes backed off up the ramp cursing at the Axe all the way.  (20 min draw)

Backstage, the World Tag Team Champs have arrived.  Hoff n’ Spicy are with their manager Figaroa ‘Figgy’ Newton.  Newton says that his team is in action tonight against two maniacs managed by the Weasel Ant Graham – Mason the Mangler and Covfefe.  Davis Hoffmeister says that their opponents may be off their rockers but they are the champs and they will be victorious.  DJ CJ Spice calls them more of a challenge than the crybabies Steel Curtain but regardless, tonight, they will have their arms raised in victory. 

As we get ready for the main event, Dr. Red Fang makes his way down and goes to sit at commentary.  First, Ant Graham comes out and brings out Mason the Mangler and Covfefe.  They are booed as they head down to the ring.  Next, Figgy Newton comes out and with him, the World Tag Team Champions – DJ CJ Spice and Davis Hoffmeister – Hoff n’ Spicy.  Ant has his team attack the champs but the champs fight them off right away.  The champs controlled the entire match which is what was expected but Ant Graham made his presence known and that infuriated MJ.  At commentary, Dr. Red Fang seemed that he was picking on someone.

“I bet @jowsterguy is sitting at home punching those stupid keys. I'd love to punch HIM."  @jowsterguy is the handle of one of our technicians.   Not sure why Fang was picking on him.

Mason and Covfefe began choking the champs in the corners and Fang kept up spewing venom at our technician.

"@jowsterguy: work faster! Programming isn't that hard."

DJ began to fight Covfefe and Mason off and the champs double teamed their opponents for 3 minutes.  Fang started to get violent sitting at commentary.

"@jowsterguy: writing programs is nothing like working Transylvania in the winter.",

“@jowsterguy: WHEN IS \"Run Card\" GOING TO WORK!!! IT'S BEEN OVER A DECADE!"       "Thankfully we don't have to rely on @jowsterguy to provide the entertainment around here."

Fang seemed to get fed up with whatever he was hearing over the headphones and he threw them down and stormed off.

Back in the ring, Graham smacked DJ with his walking cane and Figgy had had enough.  He jumped into the ring and onto the back of Mason the Mangler.  The ref had enough and called for the bell disqualifying the tag team champs.  Since the belts were not on the line tonight, nothing changes hands but the win puts Mason and Covfefe in line for a future title shot.  DJ and Hoff ended up disposing their opponents from the ring and stood holding their titles.   Figgy joined them and they all stood tall as Ant took his team to the back.

HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2017 #606 – Phoenix Heat

Hello fans and welcome back to our show.  Today is the first episode of “Phoenix Heat”.  Pyro goes off and GM Master Bull makes his way out.  Bull tells the fans that they are the best in the world and they pop for him. (cheap pop)  He says that like Tacoma Thunder, today’s show will be a 2 hour time limit and each match will have a 20 min time limit.  He then says he doesn’t want to waste any more time but he does have one MAJOR announcement and he then motions to the back and music plays and out comes…Holy Crap…it’s ‘the Elitist’ Reid Rothchild and Ravishing Raquel.  They’ve returned!  Both shake Master Bull’s hand.  Reid has a mic and declares that the Elitist team in all professional wrestling are back and they are here now to make a major impact.  He hands the mic to Raquel who says that after sitting on the sidelines (after retiring the Elitist title that she beat Reid for), she’s ready to get back in the hunt for the Ladies title.  She says she will wrestle on today’s show.  She hands the mic back to Reid who says he’s not holding back and immediately issues a challenge to Dr. Red Fang for the Hardcore title.  Bull says that match will be on the show tonight.   The fans pop and they all leave.

Match #1 starts with tag team action.  First, Leiton and Niven Snake come out to a mixed reaction from the crowd.  Next, music changes and out comes the Steel Curtain – Buzz and Starbuck Steel with their manager the Ambassador.  They are booed and the Curtain flips off the fans.  They go right on the offensive however it did them very little good.  The Snake Pit were on their game and took the fight to the former champs.  The Pit were looking sharp until they got a little cocky.  Starbuck then took a huge risk and caught Niven and they both went sailing over the top rope (Starbuck was not the legal man).  Niven landed awkwardly and Starbuck did everything he could to keep him distracted.  He succeeded and Niven ended up getting counted out.  The Steel Curtain steal a win but they don’t care.  They leave with the Ambassador without further incident (except continuing to flip the fans off who booed them).  (17 min)

Master Bull opens a package and it’s the portrait of the Unknown Assassin that he sent (on purpose?) to GM Max McGillicutty.  He responds with “ah crap” and he calls an assistant to go put up it up somewhere… maybe a remote bathroom or something.

Match #2 is ready to go and Madame Jade makes her way out to a pop from the crowd.  Next, music changes and out comes Ravishing Raquel.  The crowd pops for her as she makes her way down to the ring.  Raquel dominated the match quite well despite her having been on hiatus.  Jade got desperate and tossed Raquel out of the ring.  Raquel tried to get back in but Jade prevented her from getting in.  Finally, the ref counted Raquel out and awarded the match to Madame Jade via countout.  The fans weren’t happy with the outcome but did pop when Raquel dropkicked Jade right out of the ring.  Jade cursed at her as she made her way back up the ramp.  Raquel took in the adulation from the fans briefly before leaving.  (9 ½ min)

Steel Curtain are backstage and call their loss to Hoff n Spicy a “crock of $h!t.  (I guess Master Bull has taken to censoring them like Max did). They will bide their time and when they’re ready, they will dominate the sport like no team ever.

Match #3:  Jesse California vs Otto Ruthless.  Otto dominated the match and Jesse just never got his rhythm going.  When he thought he softened Jesse up enough, he locked Jesse in the Yukon Cloverleaf.  Jesse, exhausted from the ruthless aggression, tapped.  Otto gets the win via submission.  He stomped on Jesse a few times after the match and then left to booing from the crowd.  (16 min)

Backstage, Hardcore champion Dr. Red Fang is with his manager Ant Graham.  Graham is frustrated that Fang is being forced to defend his title against some nobody who left when the going got tough.  Graham says that Reid is a nothing who has nothing and will leave with nothing.  Fang exclaims “One day, Johnny Temp and I will headline a PPV.”

Match #4:  Former World Champion King Wilber comes out for his match.  He comes out with very little pomp and circumstance.  He gets in the ring.  Next, the Honorable J C Dykes comes out and introduces the US Champion the Unknown Assassin.  Dykes tells everyone that tonight’s match will NOT be for the US title as Wilber has proven he can’t hold on to a title against a simpleton such as the man who took the gold from him Sonic Blade.  UA makes his way down as Wilber paces in the ring.   Wilber showed why he was the World Champ but UA stayed right there with him.  After Dykes nearly got his nose taken off for interfering, UA hits Wilber with a Fireman’s Carry Roll and gets the 3 count.  Unknown Assassin is victorious in his match.  Dykes runs around the ring yelling “I told you so”.  UA and Dykes eventually leave the ring.  (12 min)

Master Bull comes out again thanking the fans for attending.  He wastes no time in bringing Reid Rothchild back out to the ring.  The two shake hands and Reid makes his way to the ring.  Then, over the loudspeakers started to blare “VAMPIRE LUNGES FOR EVERYONE” and Ant Graham and the Hardcore Champion Dr. Red Fang make their way out to the ring for tonight’s main event.  Graham is quick to add the stipulation for tonight’s show which is “Lights Out” rules.  Fang, of course cheated wherever he could but Reid battled back and the fans popped each time he did.  After taking a beating for what seemed like an eternity, Reid battled back and they surpassed the 20 minute time limit but the bell didn’t ring.  When questioning the time keeper, he said that Master Bull made this a 30 minute match.  Reid hurled Fang chest first right into the corner and Fang crashed hard and fell back in the ring.  Reid then climbed to the top turnbuckle and after giving the nod to the Macho Man Randy Savage, he leapt off connecting with the Macho Elbow.  Reid makes the cover and the ref counted 1…2…3.  Reid defeated Dr. Red Fang to become the NEW HARDCORE CHAMPION.  Graham complained on the outside of the ring while Reid celebrated holding the title high as the show came to an end.

HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2017 #605 – Tacoma Thunder

Hello fans and welcome to our debut show called “Tacoma Thunder” taking place in gorgeous Tacoma, WA.  After some pyro, a video airs introducing the new Thunder roster.  Once completed, GM Max McGillicutty comes out to a pop from the crowd and thanks everyone (sold out show) for attending.  Max tells us that they have a hell of a show tonight that will see World Champion Sonic Blade on the show today.  Max also informs us that both Thunder and Heat will now be changed to 2 hour shows each with a 20 minute time limit unless circumstances warrant a change.  Max leaves and then more pyro goes off.

After the pyro ended, the man known as the Super Duper Shockmaster makes his way out and takes a mic.  He says that Texas Wildfire was so afraid of him that he hightailed it to the ‘other’ brand.  SDSM says that he will destroy the roster until he is granted another shot at TW.  He demands a match right here and now.

Newcomer Ovaltine Jackson comes out to a pop from the crowd.   Fans have signs reading “Be sure to drink your Ovaltine”.  He gets in the ring and is immediately attacked by SDSM but Ovaltine fights him off.  SDSM went for a huge splash but Ovaltine moved and as SDSM staggered out of the corner, he was hit by a spinebuster.  SDSM struggled to his feet only to get caught by the Director’s Cut Powerslam.  Ovaltine went for the cover and got the 3 count.  Ovaltine Jackson gets the win and celebrates by climbing the turnbuckles.  Well, SDSM wasn’t thrilled and then hit him from behind knocking him from the turnbuckles and falling to the floor.  SDSM followed Ovaltine to the floor and then rammed him viciously into the ring post.  SDSM then laughed as security got in between them to prevent any further attacks.  Super Duper Shock Master then leaned over and said “How’s that win looking for you now chump stain?”  He laughed his deep, mechanical laugh as he made his way to the back.  (4 min)

Ant Graham is backstage with Covfefe.  Graham speaks for his man and says that it’s time for Covfefe to have a shot at some gold but one man is standing in the way of that…Drew the Canadian Love Machine.  Graham promises the next title shot goes to his man.

We head back to the ring for our next match.  First, TNT comes out to a pop from the crowd.  He is followed out by his opponent Ghee Buttersnaps.  Ghee stuns TNT with an elbow smash.  He follows it up with another but TNT pulls him over the top rope and both men tumble to the outside.  The two begin to brawl and before the 10 count was reached, TNT rolled back into the ring right before Ghee did and Ghee ended up getting counted out.  Jeez, another really short match @ 2 minutes on this one.  Ghee, frustrated, leaves while TNT celebrates with the fans before departing.

Ladies wrestler Starr Vixen is being interviewed and she says she loves the Pacific Northwest in all its glory.  She says she’s glad she was picked for this brand as she knows they will dominate.  She says she’s fighting Lavender Gooms later in the show and says she’s ready to show the Tacoma fans what she can do.

We head back to the ring for the next mach.  First, ‘Bad News’ Marvin Barnes comes out and he is booed.  Next, one member of the 6 man champions the Axe comes out to a pop from the crowd.  He is tall but Barnes is practically there with him; just has more bulk.  The Axe was dominating Barnes and even scored some near falls after dropping Barnes with the Axe.  Barnes, however, is about as dirty as they come and after ‘accidentally’ bumping the ref, Barnes hits Axe with a low blow.  He then picked Axe up and set him up on the top turnbuckle.  Barnes then climbed up there too (what the heck is he doing?) and then actually picked up Axe and then hit a thunderous POWERBOMB FROM THE TOP ROPE!  Holy Sh!t chants rang out throughout the entire building.  Barnes crawled over and draped an arm over Axe’s prone form.  The count was slow.  1…2…3.  Barnes gets a HUGE win over the Axe.  Barnes makes it to his feet (it seems it took almost the same out of him) and he let the ref raise his arm in victory.  He didn’t stick around long and medics came out to check on Axe.  He was shaken after that but ok.  He left on his own accord to a pop from the fans.  (13 min)

Drew the Canadian Love Machine is backstage and he says that Covfefe (aka Magnum Kone) is the thing nightmares come from but he takes no stock in such things and he’ll put this one to bed.

Our next match is ready to go and Lavender Gooms comes out first to a mixed reaction from the crowd.   Next, Starr Vixen comes out and she gets a loud pop from the crowd.  Starr had control of the first couple of minutes of the match but then Lavender then just took over dominating her opponent.  After attempting a sliding kick to the floor, missing and then crashing into the steel post, Lavender took a turn for the worse and Starr turned up the heat.  She immediately pulled Lavender into the middle of the ring and locked in a scissored armbar.  Lavender couldn’t reach the ropes regardless of how hard she struggled but in the end, she just tapped out.  Starr gets the win (12 min) and then extends a hand to Lavender helping her up.  The fans pop but then they are interrupted by the Duchess.  The Duchess has a mic and tells us that Max came to her asking her to be the Ladies Face of HCW Tacoma.  In order for her to successfully do that, she needs to be the Ladies Champion once again.  She proceeds to call Taylor Bella out (who was not there today) and challenges her for the belt.  Both Lavender and Starr seem to take offense and tell the Duchess that if she wants a title match, she has to go through them.  The Duchess laughs and says she’d go through them like a hot knife through butter.  Starr tells her to go sign a contract for a match and they will do the same.  After a brief staredown, the Duchess eventually leaves and is followed by Lavender and Starr.

Backstage, Bad News Barnes is interviewed.  “Axe was the biggest guy in HCW but that is no longer the case.  Bad News is here to stay and now I’M the biggest dog in this yard.  Anyone who wants to steal my bone can ask the Axe exactly what THAT just felt like.”

The Smashers make their way out to the ring and demand a match against any competitor.  Smasher #1 asked, when no one came out, “is the entire roster afraid of us?  Get us some competition!”   A few moments later and the Muscles Trio showed up on the stage to a huge ovation from the crowd.  The three did a ‘rock, paper, scissors’ and Muscles Thorpe and McGuire headed down to the ring for the match.  The Smashers didn’t like waiting so they attacked Thorpe and McGuire in an effort to get the match going.  The Smashers DOMINATED the Muscles.  Those poor rainbow colored bull horn wearing lovable little guys had their asses handed to them and then some.  It didn’t help that Thorpe got injured in the first minute of the match leaving his partner to be annihilated.  Towards the end, Muscles Weasley ran down and tried to throw in the towel for his team but Smasher #1 caught it and hurled it back in his face.  After they were satisfied with the destruction they rained upon their opponents, #1 hit McGuire with a knee smash and he made the lazy cover (no one was kicking out of anything) and the Smashers got the win.  After the match, Smasher #2 took the mic and called out the World Tag Team Champions.  To everyone’s surprise, the Champs Hoff n Spicy (Davis Hoffmeister and DJ CJ Spice) came out.  DJ had a mic of his own and told the Smashers that the champs are HERE and not hard to find.  Davis chimed in and said that anytime the Smashers wanted to play in the big leagues, they were HERE.  The fans popped for them and they left without further action.  The Smashers ended up storming out of the ring.  (21 minutes, 73 to 140)

Backstage, GM Max McGillicutty found that somehow in the move, the picture (defaced more than ever) of the Unknown Assassin made its way to Tacoma.  He took it down and made a point of sending it back to Master Bull.

It’s time for our main event.  First, manager Ant Graham came out and introduced Covfefe.  He came out and was booed his entire walk down to the ring.  Next, surprising music hit and out came World Champion Sonic Blade.  Sonic came out and got the crowd to pop louder than they have all night.  Sonic walked straight down to commentary and then told us that he was there to scout the match.  He said he wanted to see the top two men for his title in action.  Finally, Drew the Canadian Love Machine came out to what had to be the loudest pop from this crowd.  He made his way to the ring and after staring down both Covfefe and Ant Graham, he climbed the turnbuckle to pose for the fans.  He hopped down and took off his jacket getting ready for the match.  GM Max McGillicutty came out and told us that only 51 minutes of the show was actually wrestling and he didn’t want the Tacoma fans to go home un-satisfied so he declared that this match would be a 60 minute, greatest number of falls wins.  The first fight went only 7 minutes and ended after Ant Graham got mad at the ref and shoved him resulting in a DQ.

Fall 1:  Drew the Canadian Love Machine (7 minutes expired)

The battle continued and the next fall went a little longer (11 minutes) and ended again because of Ant’s interference.  This time Ant smacked Drew with his walking cane ( the ref didn’t see it) and Covfefe got the pin.

Fall 2:  Covfefe (18 min expired)

Covfefe started the next fall stronger but that was only because Drew was recovering from the cane shot.  Once he recovered, the Canadian Love Machine took the fight to the monster but both men were beginning to slow down a bit.  They took their time in this fall and after 29 minutes, Drew hit a handstand head scissors and got the 3 count.

Fall #3:  Drew the CLM (47 min expired)

Right off the bat, Drew took out Ant Graham with a flying fivearm.  He then pull out some handcuffs that Ant was carrying around (probably was going to use them) and he handcuffed the manager to a barrier effectively taking him out of the picture.  With Graham gone, Covfefe was lost and confused and that just let Drew go to town (124 to 47).  There were only 13 minutes left for this fall and Drew took it right to the end.  With only seconds to spare, Drew hit the corkscrew pescado and got the 1-2-3.  (final mark was 59:54)  Drew is the official #1 contender and even exhausted, he was still able to celebrate.  Sonic Blade entered the ring and extended his hand to Drew who shook it.  The two had a stare down as the show came to a close.
