Hello
fans and welcome back to another episode of HCW’s Tacoma Thunder. The weather has definitely gotten cooler as
Fall sets in and with that, the rain is here.
Still, it beats 100 degree heat down in Master Bull’s territory.
The
show kicks off in GM Max McGillicutty’s office.
Max says that with two draws on the board, we need to have a team to go
to the PPV to meet Hoff n Spicy for the World Tag Team Titles. Max decides that he will pick one team from
each brand to meet later today and the winner of that team (they will be given
a 60 min time limit just in case) will go on for a shot at the gold. Representing TT will be Ovaltine Jackson and
Ghee Buttersnaps and they will take on (decided by a coin flip)…Elitism. Reid and Roderick will get one more chance to
achieve what’s been eluding them…tag team glory. We know that this will not sit well with the
Steel Curtain but that is GM Master Bull’s problem, not his. Max says that the tag title match will be up
first.
We cut
over to the ring and after the pyro had finished, Elitism came out to a pop
from the fans. They headed down to the
ring. Next, Tacoma’s own Ghee Buttersnaps
and Ovaltine Jackson come out and get a louder pop (it is their turf) and they
head down to the ring. The match was
pretty good albeit it slow in a few spots but about 13 minutes in, Elitism
turned up the heat and really took it to their opponents. After a brief double team, Roderick tagged
out to Reid who came in and cleaned house and knocked both Ghee and Ovaltine
together. Ghee fell to the floor injured
and Ovaltine looked like he had hurt his leg.
Reid pulled him into the middle of the ring and locked in the Figure
Four Reid lock and Ovaltine tapped out.
Reid and Roderick get the win and they officially go on to the PPV to
fight for the tag titles. (19 min)
Backstage,
World Champion Sonic Blade is trying to explain to Drew the Canadian Love
Machine that it was just happenstance that Drew saw him with the chair. He said he got it to keep the Hubers from
attacking either of them. Drew accepted the
explanation and they shook hands. The
Ryzing Storm (Travis and Terra) walked in mocking their “love fest” and
challenged the duo to a match tonight.
Sonic and Drew accepted the challenge.
We
head back to the ring for our next match.
First, Ms. Lavender Gooms comes out to a decent pop from the crowd. Next, music hits and out comes the Duchess
with court member Lady Hermann. The
Duchess has a mic in hand. She mocks the
fact that the current Ladies Champion Taylor Bella had forgotten to defend her
title and once she defeats her competitors at the PPV, she will become the new
champion and do the title proud. Both
ladies head down to the ring. The match
was pretty one-sided with the Duchess dominating the match. About 6 minutes in, she hurled Lavender out
of the ring and distracted the ref. Lady
Hermann then picked up Lavender and hit a HUGE running powerslam onto the
floor. She backed off and the ref began
to count and eventually reached 10 counting Lavender out. The Duchess gets the win via countout. She stands in the ring celebrating as the
fans boo but then music hits and Ladies Champion Taylor Bella rushes down to
the ring and the two begin fighting.
Lady Hermann joins in the action and the Court beats Taylor down. Lady Hermann nailed a running powerslam and
the Duchess locked in the All Hail Her Majesty and Taylor was tapping out but
the Duchess wouldn’t let up. As soon as security hit the ring, she let her go
and she and Lady Hermann left laughing.
Taylor was helped to her feet and glared daggers at her PPV opponent. (6 ½ minutes for the match; 5 extra for the
follow on)
Max is
still in his office and says that things got a little lax with title defenses
so even though some titles will be defended at the PPV, two needed defenses
tonight and one at the Phoenix show. He
said that Hardcore Champion Leon Teremoto will defend his title against
Superquake Ferguson, and the Tag Team Champs Hoff n Spicy will take on the
Huber Clan for the titles. In Phoenix,
Ladies Champion Taylor Bella will defend against Madame Jade. The Hardcore title match is next.
Superquake
Ferguson lumbered his way down to the ring.
Dang, this guy is huge. He is surely the Giant in HCW. Next, Hardcore Champion Leon Teremoto comes
out to a decent pop. Once in the ring,
he is asked what type of hardcore rules he wants for this match and he says Boot
Camp. Superquake tossed Leon around for
the first few minutes but after miraculously locking in a gorilla hug, things
went the way of the champ. Leon
struggled to get Superquake off his feet (the guy is 400 lbs, 7 ft tall) but
when he did, he would hit him with the Ground n Pound. Just as time was running out, Superquake
locked in a bearhug but Leon wiggled out and dumped Ferguson out of the
ring. Ferguson stormed around the ring
but while out there, the bell rang bringing this one to a draw finish. Leon retains his title via time limit
draw. (20 min)
Hoff N
Spicy are backstage with their manager “Figgy” Newton and the interview was
more about why Figgy attacked ‘Top Gun’ Justin Winger. Figgy said that Winger looked at Taylor Bella
inappropriately. When questioned
further, he was asked “If she’s the Ladies Champion, can’t she take care of
herself?” Figgy replied “Of course she
can but now she knows I will be there to have her back when ANYTHING goes
down.”
We
head back to the ring for our next match.
El Chango, who we haven’t seen in a while, returns and the fans pop huge
for him. He goes to shake hands with
the fans at ringside but his music is cut off abruptly with “VAMPIRE LUNGES FOR
EVERYONE!” blaring over the loudspeakers.
Dr. Red Fang, accompanied by his manager Ant Graham, make his way down
to the ring. The fans do not care for
the vampire wannabe and they show it in both their words and actions. Fang actually threatened to bite off the
finger of a fan who was NOT showing him he was number one in their book. Ant had to break that up quick to avoid any
future law suits. For the first few
minutes, El Chango was in control but once Ant Graham stuck his nose in, it all
went Fang’s way. 13 minutes in, El
Chango had had enough of Graham’s interference and after dropping Fang with a
flying spinning heel kick, he left the ring chasing Graham around the
ring. Graham stayed one step ahead and
El Chango finally re-entered the ring but immediately got hit with a Vampire
Lunge. Fang made the cover and with a
handful of tights AND his foot on the rope for leverage, he got the 1-2-3. Dr. Red Fang gets the win and laughs
maniacally before leaving with his manager.
(14 min)
Max is
still in his office and just hung up the phone.
Max tells us that one match will be added to the PPV but it will air
online as part of a “preshow”. That
match will be TNT taking on King Wilber one on one.
As we
head back to the ring for our next match, Ferb and Butch Huber come out and
make their way down to the ring. Next,
Figgy Newton comes out and introduces the World Tag Team Champions Hoff N Spicy
(Davis Hoffmeister and DJ CJ Spice). The
crowd pops HUGE for them as they make their way down to the ring. Before the match could begin though, there
was a commotion coming from the crowd.
HOLY COW! It’s Phoenix’s own ‘Top
Gun’ Justin Winger and he’s rushing towards the ring AND towards Figgy
Newton. Figgy hightails it with Winger
in tow. I guess the champs are on their
own for this match. For 10 minutes, the
challengers remained in control but that is when Figgy returned to the ring and
as soon as he provided guidance to his team, they took over control of the
match and started to decimate their opponents.
Figgy instructed them to not do anything crazy so they kept their moves
to the ground. Before we knew it, the
bell rang bringing this one to a 30 minute draw. Hoff n Spicy retain their titles. Top Gun then rushed out from the back and
began chasing Figgy through the crowd.
Max is
still in his office and this time is on the phone. Top Gun Justin Winger walks in and demands a
match with Figgy. Max tells him that
this should be directed to Phoenix’ GM Master Bull. Winger says he did and his request fell on
deaf ears (did he now…did he really?)
Max reminds Winger that Figgy is a manager and not a wrestler. Winger says he’ll get Newton in a ring some
way…some how… and he storms out.
It’s
time for our main event. First, the
Ryzing Storm comes out (Travis and Terra Ryzing) and they are booed. Next, Drew the Canadian Love Machine comes
out and gets what seems to be the loudest pop of the night. He is joined by World Champion Sonic Blade on
the stage and together they walk to the ring.
No time is wasted as the Ryzing Storm attacks Drew and Sonic but order
is quickly restored by the ref. The
Ryzing Storm was on their A game as they totally controlled the match for the
first 20 minutes of the match. After
Drew and Sonic got some double teaming in, they started to battle back and
within 6 minutes, they were destroying their opponents. One minute later and Sonic trapped Terra in a
reverse cradle and the ref counted 1…2…3.
Drew and Sonic get the win. They
both climb the turnbuckles to pops from the fans but the Ryzing Storm wasn’t
done with them. They began beating Sonic
down and then Drew came over to break it up.
Both men had the Storm in opposite corners. Drew went to whip Terra into Travis across
the ring but Terra reversed it and Drew ended up crashing into (Travis pulled
him in front of him as a shield) Sonic knocking him from the ring. Drew ended up disposing of the Ryzing Storm
but Sonic got in the ring and the two began having words. Words turned to shoving and a brawl almost
broke out between the two as the show came to an end. Those two will need to finish this at the
PPV.
Phoenix
Heat’s episode will be up next and then one week from today, our PPV Halloween
Scream will be live from Tacoma (there are a few tickets left) but you can get
order it on PPV. Be sure to contact your
cable provider for details. Thanks for
reading. Stay tuned. We’re not done yet.
