HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2016 #512

Hello fans and welcome back to our newsletter.  Our PPV is now just a few weeks way.  GM Max McGillicutty gives us an update as to what we can expect from our first PPV outside of the four corner states.

“Fans near and wide, Halloween Scream PPV is nearly here but I want to do something unique this time around.  We are actually going to have fewer matches on the actual card itself but will give each of those champions 1 hour time limit/best of 3 falls opportunities to defend and retain their titles.  There will be 3 titles on the line:  The Stache, if he retains tonight, will face an opponent not yet determined.  Also, Ravishing Raquel will defend her Ladies title…opponent TBD.  The final belt that will be on the line will be the World Tag Team Championship held by the Smashers.

Here is my plan to determine who will get what.  On our 10/16 show, we are going to have a Tag Team Tournament with the winning team getting the shot at the Smashers.   On our 10/19 show, El Gato Negro challenges Scarlett Phoenix with the winner getting the shot at Ravishing Raquel.  Finally, on the 10/26 show, there will be a ‘Roster Rumble’ in which all singles wrestlers (except those out on medical leave) will participate in a battle royal to see who gets the shot at the Stache.   The only other match that will take place will be ‘the King of Cones’ Magnum Kone taking on ‘the Ragin Cajun’ Rad Gumbo.  It will be Gumbo 7:30 vs Kone 8:13 in a buried alive match.  I’ve told both men that this is it; there is a winner and they move on.   Gumbo has won most of the battles; can Kone win the war?

Tonight, the Steel Curtain and Biceps Bannerman defend the trophy against the Muscles Trio.  Also, Drew the Canadian Love Machine and Chic Monroe square off to see who takes on the Savior for the US title.  The Stache, as mentioned earlier, defends his title against Sonic Blade.  This and much more are ready to go so let’s get this party started.”

Our first match of the night kicks off with Handsome Hernandez making his way down to the ring.  His opponent Outback Oscar comes out next to a big pop.  Both men were pretty evenly matched.  Oscar started to take the lead and then locked in the Outback Stretch that made Hernandez panic.  Hernandez hit Oscar with a low blow (the ref didn’t see it) and then he dumped Oscar to the floor. He followed him out and executed a snap suplex onto the steel steps.  Hernandez rolled back in at the last minute and Oscar got counted out.  Handsome Hernandez wins this one via countout.  A commotion comes from the crowd as Billy Robbins runs down and gets in the ring and the two slug it out until 6 refs come out to break it up.  It took a while to finally get them and keep them separated.  Robbins throws out a challenge to Hernandez to meet him in a Tables, Ladders and Chairs match.  Hernandez accepts.  That match will be soon.  (8 min for the match; 15 for the segment)

The Wraith makes his way down to the ring after everyone had cleared out.  He takes the mic and says that he will accept Texas Wildfire’s challenge but only on one condition.  This brought out TW and he asked what the condition was.  The Wraith said that he wanted Wildfire to fight tonight against an opponent of his choosing.  Win or lose, he will still have his match but wants to see him in action.  TW accepts the condition and then asks who his opponent will be tonight.  The Wraith nods his head and says “that man” and as TW turns, Dr. Red Fang attacks him and ends up dragging him to the ring.  The Wraith then pulls off his shirt revealing a ref’s shirt.  During the match, the Wraith would slow count any time TW went for a pin or submission but would fast count if Fang went for one.  Dr. Red Fang held the advantage (through his level of ferocity) but TW would not give up.  As the clock ticked down, Fang hit TW with a skull crusher.  As he went for the pin, TW got his foot on the ropes.   The Wraith KICKED his foot off and then tried for another fast count but the bell rang bringing this one to a draw.  The Wraith was just as pissed as Dr. Red Fang was.  Fang snarled and left, surprisingly without any further attacks.  The Wraith jumped out of the ring and was searching for something under the ring.  He pulled out a bull rope and then climbed back in the ring and began choking the Texas Wildfire with it.  The Wraith laughed psychotically and refs ran back out to break it up.   The Wraith left yelling “THAT is how you do it” and continued to laugh all the way to the back.  (20 min for the match; 25 total for the segment)

Southern Belle makes her way out to the ring and tries to act like she’s the victim here.  She calls out the Duchess and tries to explain but the Duchess blows her off.  Belle then attacks the Duchess beating her down.   She hit the Southern Swing twice to make sure Duchess didn’t get back up.  Belle then got on the mic and called out GM Max McGillicutty.  Belle tells Max that she wants to be reinstated as a wrestler.  Max tells her he never terminated her contract because he knew she’d be back.   He says that Belle can get into the ring at any time.  Belle says she wants the Duchess as soon as possible.  Max says he will make it happen.

As soon as Belle left, Pete the PUN-isher came out.  He was not nice towards the fans.  At one point he asked a guy sitting at ringside “Dude, when was the last time you showered?”  The fan did not take it too well and the fans around him rallied and the level of noise they met was louder than anything Pete has come across yet.  He didn’t let it phase him.  He took a mic and broke into some *shudder* puns.

Show me a piano falling down a mineshaft and I'll show you A-flat minor.
I relish the fact that you've mustard the strength to ketchup to me.
When William joined the army he disliked the phrase 'fire at will'.
The shoemaker did not deny his apprentice anything he needed. He gave his awl.
A new type of broom came out, it is sweeping the nation.

Before he could continue, The Axe came out (the fans cheered just because he got Pete to stop talking).  “Dude, listen, I know your parents probably sheltered you growing up but you are just…not…funny.  Stop with the damn puns already.  This is a wrestling ring, not a comedy stage.  We WRESTLE here.”  Pete, not surprisingly, attacked Axe.  Our match is now underway.  This one didn’t go very long and Axe underestimated Pete.  Axe looked like he was trying to “take it easy” on Pete and he retaliated by showing what he could do in the ring.  Right about the 6th minute, Pete tossed Axe from the ring.  He followed him out and before Axe could get up, he nailed a PUN-t to the head.  Pete rolled back in to break the count and Axe ended up getting counted out.  Pete the PUN-isher got the win.  I’m sure Axe will be adding Pete to his “chopping block”.  (6 ½ min)

There are a couple of backstage segments.  First, the Stache is being interviewed and he says that he’s intrigued with how the Roster Rumble is going to play out.  He is asked, that by looking to the Rumble, is he passing over Sonic Blade?  Stache says that, taking nothing from Sonic but that ‘Blade’ is dull and he will retain tonight.

Elsewhere, Drew the Canadian Love Machine says, as much as he wants to get in a battle of wits with the Savior, he’s going to do it in the ring.  Once the Savior gets those shoulders pinned for the 3 count, he will reinstate the “US” name.

We head back to the ring for the next match.  Superstar Chic Monroe makes his way out to the ring.  Next is not Drew but is the S.H.I.T champion the Savior.  Monroe has some words for him as the Savior goes to sit at commentary.  Finally, Drew comes out and he is pumped.  The fans are behind him 100%.   The Savior actually hit Drew in the knee with a chair and that put Drew on the defensive.  Monroe used the injury to his advantage and plain outwrestled Drew.  The two fought hard but the longer the match went, the more in pain Drew appeared to be.  Drew got to the point where he hit Monroe with the Lover Bomb and his leg gave out so the move didn’t do much damage to Chic but hurt Drew.  Chic then nailed a Cradle Facebuster and got a 1 count.  Chic then hit a strait jacket suplex and went to make the cover.  Drew was close to the ropes but the Savior held down Drew’s leg preventing him from kicking out of the pin.  Chic Monroe gets the win and will go on to face the Savior for the S.H.I.T championship.  (12 min)

Backstage, the Muscles Trio are doing their goofy skit and are asked if they are taking this match lightly.  Thorpe says that the last time they met, the Steel Curtain and Biceps owned them.  He says that they are on a roll after defeating the 5th Column and tonight, that trophy comes with them.

The 6 Man Champs are also backstage.  Buzz says that the Muscles Trio is tougher than they look and they are not taking this lightly.  Starbuck adds that they have a mutual respect for the Trio and tonight’s match is not about revenge or payback; it’s about defending a championship that they’ve held for 4 months and are still undefeated.  Biceps chimes in and says that tonight’s match will be no different than in the past.  They walk in the champs and will walk out the champs.  All three men lean in and say “Word”.

The Muscles Trio (Weasley, Thorpe and McGuire) all head to the ring.  They put on their comedy skit but they are taking this match seriously.  The Champs then come out with the trophy on a flatbed cart.  All 6 men get in the ring and actually shake hands before the bell rings.  Right off the bat, the champs triple teamed McGuire and after that it was all the champs.  About 7 minutes in, the 5th Column led by Ant Graham came out.  They surrounded the ring.  Weasley got thrown out of the ring by Starbuck.  Ant Graham then distracted the ref and the 5th Column destroyed Weasley.  Weasley ends up getting counted out and the Steel Curtain and Biceps retain the trophy.  (8 min).  Ant Graham gets on the mic and says that the 5th Column should have had this match.  The champs agree to an impromptu match and it appears that the trophy is on the line.

Ant did a better job leading his team but the champs were still that much better.  At the 10 minute mark, the Muscles came back out and distracted the 5th Column.  The champs then triple teamed their opponents.  Biceps threw Baron von Blood out of the ring; Buzz hurled Karl Braun out of the ring and Starbuck hit the “out of this world” dropkick on Oswald Zimmerman and he ended up…yep…on the outside of the ring.  Ant complained to the ref and this time it backfired.  The Muscles ended up attacking each member of the 5th Column and they ended up getting counted out.  The Champs are victorious in their second match of the evening.  (10 min).  After the match, Ant Graham got in the ring and started going off on the champs.  They surrounded him and Starbuck hurled Ant into the corner.  Biceps ran and squashed him in the corner.  Buzz picked Ant up and hit the Buzzkill.   Starbuck went to the top rope and hit the Shooting Star Buck.  The Champs celebrated with the Muscles Trio and then left the carnage behind.

Sonic Blade is backstage and he says that tonight is the biggest night of his career.  He is not taking the Stache lightly and knows what to expect.  He promises to give his all and that is all he can do.

Sonic Blade makes his way out to the ring to a good pop from the crowd.  Next, the World Champion the Stache makes his way out.  He was kind of egotistical in his last promo and some of the fans didn’t take too well to it.  GM Max McGillicutty comes out and says that he’s giving them 30 minutes to put on a hell of a match.  And that they did.  Sonic started off slow but after about 3 min, he really gave it his all.  The two went toe to toe for 11 minutes.  The Stache, while both men were on the floor, hurled Sonic into the steel steps and Sonic was hurt.  He couldn’t muster any offense for almost 5 minutes.  Finally, he got his second wind but the damage was done.  We pick this up at the 15 minute mark.

All of a sudden, balloons and streamers began falling from the ceiling.  The fans wondered what was going on.  It turns out today is the champ’s birthday.  Random people (no idea who they are) started to bring out party favors (hats, noisemakers etc) and handed them to the fans.  It was announced that it was the Stache’s birthday and that it was felt that he deserved something (besides a win).  Those random people began singing “Happy Birthday” and the show ended with the Stache posing with the belt on the turnbuckle.

That’s all for now.  Stay tuned for more action.
