Hello fans and welcome back to another installment of the HCW Wrestling Newsletter. Tonight, GM Max McGillicutty stated he has a pretty important announcement to make. Also, Ladies Champion Korbi Kong defends her title in the main event. Word also has it that we will hear from the US Champion the Ragin Cajun King Rad Gumbo. With that, let’s get this show started.
Pyro
goes off and our first match is ready to go.
The
loudspeakers blast out “APOLLO GYZE DON’T APOLOGIZE” and out comes one half of
the Tag Team Champions Apollo Gyze.
Dash Woodbrick, the other half of the champions accompanies him to the
ring before going to sit at ringside.
Both men got verbal lashings from the fans and they both responded in
kind. New music hits and out comes one
third of the Six Man Tag Tean Champions Biceps Bannerman. Bannerman gets a nice pop from the crowd and
makes his way to the ring. Apollo, put
off by this, exits the ring and attacks Biceps on the outside before he even
gets a chance to take his jacket off.
Apollo rolls him into the ring and yanks the jacket off all the while
putting the boots to Biceps. Finally the
bell rings. For the first 11 minutes of
the match, Apollo’s attack played in his favor but after a huge powerslam,
things went in Bannerman’s favor. Biceps
used his power and began throwing Apollo around like a rag doll. Apollo tried to get his momentum back after
hurling Biceps out of the ring and to the floor and nailing a suicide dive to
the floor but Bannerman got his wind back faster than expected and once in the
ring, he planted Apollo with a powerslam.
Bannerman goes for the pin but Apollo gets his foot on the bottom
rope. Biceps picked him up and locked
him in the Biceps Crunch (bearhug) but Apollo wouldn’t tap out so Bannerman
lowered him to the mat putting Apollo’s shoulders to the mat for a 3 count. Biceps gets the win and the fans pop
huge. He leaves and Apollo complains to
the ref but nothing comes of it. (21

Backstage,
Lady Hermann approaches Queen Goldie Locks and begins to insult her saying that
she’s wannabe royalty and not “real” like her.
Goldie asks her if she wants to settle this in the ring but Lady Hermann
walks away laughing and says that Goldie isn’t even in her league.
Next
up, ‘Luke Warm’ Lucas Johnston makes his way out to a ‘luke-warm’ reception
from the crowd. Looks like people are
taking this time to go get their (socially-distanced) snacks. Once Lucas makes it to the ring, the music
changes to something more sinister and out comes Madman Mason accompanied by
Ms. Alexandria. The fans boo them but
after Mason got into one kids’ face and nearly scared the poop out of him,
those at ringside were a little more subdued.
He gets in the ring and immediately attacks Lucas kicking this one off. Lucas managed to fight back and hold the
advantage for the first six minutes but ‘guidance’ from Ms. Alexandria helped
Mason take control and dominate the remainder of the match. At the 11 minute mark, Lucas was trying to
make a comeback but Ms. Alexandria distracted him allowing Mason to hit Lucas
with the Psychotic Break. Mason makes
the cover and gets the 3 count. Madman
Mason puts another win in the record books.
He gets on the mic and calls out the Cajun King. Rad comes out to a huge pop from the
crowd. Rad says he’s astonished that Mason
had the guts to call him out. He demands
a match. Mason says he will only accept
on two stipulations: 1) the match must
take place at the PPV. Rad agrees. 2) Mason says that he wants the US title on
the line. Gumbo agrees again. Rad asks if that is all and Mason says for
now. Rad says “good” and rushes the
ring. Mason and Ms. Alexandria bail and
exit through the crowd. Gumbo stands
tall in the ring shouting “cowards” at his fleeing opponent. He interacts with the fans for a moment
before heading to the back. (11 min for
the match; 5 for the aftermath)
J9
is backstage and says that she is getting the creepy cat lady Catalina Harper
in the ring tonight. She says that it
will be ‘back to the pound’ for Catalina when she’s through with her.
Our
next match is tag team action. First,
the Smashers (#1 and 2) come out and are booed heavily. They threaten to hit the fans but hold
back. They get in the ring to continue
their jaw jacking. The music changes and
out comes Maximillian Redbeard and Superquake Ferguson. The fans pop for them as they make their way
to the ring. The match begins once all 4
men were in the ring. The Smashers got
the lead early dominating their challengers.
Redbeard started early but then the Smashers kept Ferguson in the ring
not allowing him to tag out. Finally,
Ferguson makes the hot tag but the Smashers distracted the ref negating the
tag. Smasher #1 then planted the big man
with a bodyslam while Smasher #2 hit Redbeard with a shoulder tackle that sent
him off the ring apron. Smasher #1
hooked the leg and got the 3 count. The
Smasher win this one solidly. They
collectively stomp on Ferguson until Maximillian came back in armed with a
chair. The Smashers left and Redbeard
helped his partner up and to the back. (17
min)
Backstage,
Violet Valkyrie is cutting a promo.
Violet says that J9 knocked her out using a rag doused in ether. Violet says she know how to play dirty and if
that’s how J9 wants to do it, she’d be happy to oblige.
For
the next match, Catalina Harper comes out first to a nice welcome from the
fans. She makes her way to the ring and
then enters. The music abruptly changes
and out comes J9 who gets the opposite reaction from the fans. The booing gets louder the closer she got to
the ring. She enters and begins flipping
off the fans. Catalina tells her that’s
not a nice thing to do and J9 attacks her.
The attack did nothing and Catalina dominated. About 7 minutes in, J9 left the ring and was
ready to walk out of the match until Violet came out. J9 hightailed it back to the ring and into
Catalina’s Cat-astrophic blow. Catalina
makes the cover and gets the 3 count.
She gets her arm raised in victory.
She begins to leave the ring as Violet is making her way into the
ring. The two nod and continue on their
ways. In the ring, Violet picks J9 up by
the hair but J9 reaches into her trunks and pulls out a bottle of
something. She sprays it in Violet’s
eyes and Violet is blinded. J9 uses the
time to run off. The referee attends to
Violet as medics come out from the back to check on her.
We
head to the office of the GM and Max McGillicutty says he has an announcement
to make. Once again, HCW will be hosting
its annual Hall of Fame event that will take place right after the fan fest. Max says that over the next few weeks, this
year’s inductees will be announced. He
sends us back to the ring.
The
ringside announcers state that Violet has been checked out and taken to the
hospital for further evaluation. They
don’t believe any real damage has been done but they want to be 100% sure. They then cut to a promo from the Ladies
Champion Korbi Kong.
“J9,
you stooped so low as to try to blind my friend. Understand that Violet has more friends than
you can hope to ever have and every one of them is pissed at your actions. I promise you…you will get what is coming to
you. Tonight, I have Lady Hermann in the
ring. She seems to want to upset the
apple cart by taking digs at HCW’s Queen – Goldie Locks. Lady Hermann, tonight you get me but soon,
her royalness will be coming for you.”
Korbi then walks off heading to the ring.
It’s
time for our main event. First, Lady
Hermann comes out to massive boos from the fans. She flips them off nonchalantly and gets into
the ring flexing her muscles. The music
changes and we hear “KORBI KONG SMASH” and out comes the Ladies Champion. Korbi stands on the stage and soaks in the
cheers from the crowd before she makes her way to the ring. She walks around the outside and shakes hands
with the fans before entering the ring.
She climbs the turnbuckle and holds her title high. The fans pop.
She steps down and gets ready for the match. The bell rings.

Lady Hermann rolls out of the ring, Korbi accepts her title from the ref and
she climbs the turnbuckle holding the belt high. With that, the show coms to an end.
