HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2018 #676 – Tacoma Thunder

Hello fans and welcome back to our next installment of HCW’s Tacoma Thunder.  First, we would like to say "Happy Mothers Day" to all the mom's out there (and that are in attendance at our show).

The show begins backstage with the arrival of US Champion Drew the Canadian Love Machine.  Drew walks in only to be confronted by Elitism member “Rowdy” Roderick Rothchild.   He is with his manager the Ambassador.  Roderick says that he’s been on the top 10 for some time but Drew has been ditching him.  The Ambassador produces a contract showing that, tonight, Roderick finally gets a shot at the US title.  Roderick says he’s ready and questions Drew if he’s ready for an ass kicking.  Roderick and his manager then walk off.

Pyro goes off and GM Max McGillicutty comes out and thanks the fans for attending live and tuning in on broadcast TV.  He acknowledges the main event with Drew taking on Roderick.  He says that they will have a great line up tonight and doesn’t want to waste the fans’ time by him jabbering so he leaves the stage so the show can begin.

Pyro goes off once again and newcomer Ruby Rose makes her way out first to a pop from the crowd.  She gets in the ring and says now that she has a few matches under her belt, she wants to see if she can make her way into the ladies top 10 and issues a challenge to Taylor Bella.  Taylor comes out and looks really put out.  She gets into the ring and starts to jaw jack with Ruby.  “Do you know who I am?  I am a former Ladies Champion and a former Divas’ Champion.  You don’t call me out you wannabe.  But I’m here so I guess I have to teach you a lesson.”  She removes her robe and the bell rings kicking this one off. Taylor didn’t seem to take this very seriously but Ruby did and much to everyone’s amazement, she went toe to toe with the former champ.  As time dragged on, Taylor realized this wasn’t going to be a pushover and started to take things more seriously but by that time, Ruby was controlling the match.  Taylor tried for a Sitout Facebuster but Ruby reversed it and hit an exploder suplex.  She made the cover and hooked both legs as the ref counted 1…2…3.  Ruby gets the win and immediately moves up in the rankings.   Taylor was pissed and actually stormed off.  (14 min)

Nix Anderson is backstage with his manager “The Singapore Sensation” Matt Preacher.  Matt says that Nix is a diamond in the rough but once he’s done with him, he will be wearing gold.  It’s not a matter of if but when.  Nix chimes in and says that Preacher has given him focus and before everyone knows it, he’ll be skyrocketing to the top of HCW.

It’s time for our next match.  First, Ovaltine Jackson comes out to a pop from the crowd.  His music is cut off before he even reached the ring.   Nix Anderson comes out with his manager and the fans boo him.  He doesn’t care and he saunters down to the ring with the smuggest of smug looks on his face.  The Singapore Sensation gives Nix some last minute advice and this one is ready to go.   Ovaltine controlled the match for the first 3 minutes but after Nix left the ring for some advice, he snuck back in.  Preacher distracted the ref and Nix hit Ovaltine with his ukulele.  Ovaltine kicked out at 1 but wasn’t the same after that.  Nix took control of the match with Preacher getting involved one time to bludgeon Ovaltine with a foreign object.  Nix would hit Ovaltine with the ukulele again for only a 1 count.  Finally, he got desperate.  He grabbed a mic and began singing.  Ovaltine, like a lot of the fans put their hands over their ears.  Ovaltine turned to tell someone to cut off the mic and Nix rushed over and rolled up Ovaltine for the 3 count.   Nix Anderson gets the win.  His manager joins him in the ring and he raises Nix’s arm high.  The two of them leave to the booing from the crowd but he doesn’t care.  One more win puts him that much closer to a title shot.  (18 min)

Backstage, “The Hoff” Davis Hoffmeister arrives.  He sees that tonight he gets to take on Superquake Ferguson.  He sighs.  “Well, you win some, but you lose more when you go up against me Mr. Ferguson.”  Davis laughs a bit and heads to his dressing room.

It’s time to head back to the ring.  First, the Crocodile Hunter and Outback Oscar come out to a pop from the crowd.  After they psyched up the crowd, the music changed and out comes manager MJ and the Smashers.  The trio are booed as they head to the ring.   The Smashers try to sneak attack but are quickly dispatched out of the ring.  Finally this one is ready to start.  The Smashers were incredibly vicious in this match but Oscar and Croc didn’t know the meaning of the word quit.  They hung in there despite being sequestered in the opposite corner but would fight to make the hot tag.  The fans kept cheering Croc and Oscar on until the match was forced to conclude when the 30 minute bell rang.  MJ took his team from the ring as he didn’t want them to waste any more time on this lame-o team.  Croc and Oscar, exhausted, briefly met with the fans and eventually left.

Superquake Ferguson is backstage and he’s irate that he hasn’t been given his rematch for the Hardcore title.  He says that one person will feel his wrath and too bad for the Hoff.

We are ready for the next match to begin.  First, music plays and out comes Davis Hoffmeister.  The Hoff is over with the fans and he shows his appreciation for them.  After getting pops for psyching up the crowd, Superquake Ferguson comes barreling out from the back and makes a beeline for the ring.  Davis immediately locks in the Hollywood (camel) clutch trying to get the big man to submit but he shakes Davis off.  Davis tries for it again but once again, Superquake shrugs him off.  Ferguson nails Davis with a big foot to the face.  Superquake then stands on Davis’ neck.  He picks Davis up and connects with another big foot to the face.  Davis hits a low blow (oops) and grabs Ferguson by the trunks and connects with a piledriver.  He goes for the pin but Superquake kicks out but is moving much slower.  Davis gets up and is pumped from the energy from the fans and he calls for another piledriver.  He connects and hooks one leg (and puts his feet on the ropes for leverage (Hey…) and he gets the 1-2-3.  Davis Hoffmeister gets the win and the fans couldn’t be happier.  They pop for him and he makes a quick getaway as he doesn’t want to face any additional ire from the giant. Ferguson leaves shortly thereafter.  (6 min)

Ant Graham and his Ghouls (Dr. Red Fang/Mason/Wolfman Keg) are backstage and he says that since Brick is gone, Axe and TNT needed a new partner and they chose…who…Superstar Chic Monroe?  Really?  That is all they could come up with?  He laughs and says that the Ghouls will dispatch them and get their 6 man titles back.

It’s time for 6 man tag team action.  First, the new team of the Axe, TNT and Superstar Chic Monroe come out to a decent pop from the crowd.   Their interaction with the crowd is interrupted when “VAMPIRE LUNGES FOR EVERYONE” blares through the loud speakers.  Ant Graham leads his Ghouls down to the ring.  The Ghouls waste no time and go right on the offensive.  They hold the advantage briefly but the Axe and his team had multiple double and triple teaming on the Ghouls.  Graham did stick his nose in a few times but was dealt with by TNT.   Chic seemed to do well but after Fang flew at him taking him out of the game, he was done.  Mason used the distraction to his advantage and he and Wolfman Keg hit Axe with a double stiff spike piledriver.  Mason made the cover and got the 3 count.  The Ghouls and Graham gloated to the booing of the fans and left.  Chic and TNT checked on Axe and they helped him to his feet and the three of them left.  (11 min)

US Champion Drew the Canadian Love Machine is backstage and he says that Roderick is bringing his big ol’ bag of tricks and that includes the devious manager the Ambassador.  He says he is completely aware of what he’s up against but still expects to be victorious.

It’s time for the main event.  First, the Ambassador comes out and introduces “Rowdy” Roderick Rothchild.  The two are booed as they head to the ring.  Roderick flips the fans off.  The music changes and out comes the US Champion Drew the Canadian Love Machine and the fans blow the roof off the place.   Drew climbs the turnbuckle and the fans pop louder.  Roderick is not happy with the reception and tries to attack Drew but Drew sees him coming and backs off.   The two begin the match and it’s pretty even between the two.  The Ambassador gets involved and briefly gives Roderick the advantage but Drew battled back pretty quick.  Once we hit the 13 minute mark, The Ambassador tried to choke Drew in the corner but Drew reversed it and caught the Rowdy one with a Corkscrew Pescado but Roderick nullified it.   Drew goes for a series of slaps but it’s reversed and Rothchild hits the Rothchild Stunner.  Drew rolls out of the ring to avoid the pin.  Drew slides back in and catches Roderick unaware with a Corkscrew Pescado and hooks the leg to get the 1-2-3.  Drew wins the match and retains his title.  Roderick and the Ambassador leave while Drew celebrates with the fans as the show comes to a close.

Thanks for reading.  Phoenix Heat will be up next.  Stay tuned.
