HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2018 #675 – Phoenix Heat Supershow

Hello fans and welcome back to our show.  Today marks our 675th episode of the Wrestling Newsletter and just so happens to coincide with the Phoenix Heat Supershow.  Pyro goes off as the fans blow the roof off with all the noise they could muster.  Master Bull then comes out and thanks everyone for attending live as well as watching on TV.  He congratulates HCW on reaching such a milestone and lets the fans know that the card tonight is packed solid.  He is then interrupted by ‘The Ragin Cajun’ King Rad Gumbo who calls the fans sheep for just following whatever crap Master Bull spits out.  The fans of course boo him.  “Shut up and sit down.  Now, as I was trying to say before I was rudely interrupted was that I want to make sure that the coward Buzz Steel does not have any chance to run away so I demand that our match be a no count-out / no DQ match.”  Bull says that the match is one of the most important that we’ve seen in some time and says that Gumbo actually had a good idea.  “Now, we don’t have time for any more of your garbage so get off the stage so we can get our show started.”  Gumbo stomps off in a huff and Bull leaves so our show can get started.

Pyro goes off once again and our first match is ready to begin.  Madame Jade makes her way out to a pop from the fans.  She high fives the fans as she makes her way to the ring.  She soaks in the adulation from the crowd but it is cut short and Jazz Emmett makes her way out.  She gets into the ring and she is all business.  This match is for Jazz’s future shot at the Ladies title.  Jazz goes right on the offensive and for the first 5 minutes of the match, she controls the pace but Jade kicks it into high gear and for the next 7 minutes, the two go head to head.  Each chop, each stomp elicited excitement from the crowd and then they were on their feet cheering Jade on.  Jade used the momentum and began an aggressive run.  At the 16 minute mark, Jade caught Jazz with a springboard dropkick and Jazz was out. Madame Jade makes the cover and gets the 1-2-3.  Jade gets the win and wins the contract for a future match against the Ladies Champion.  She immediately takes the contract out and signs it so that it cannot be put on the line.  She holds the contract in her hand but her celebration is cut short when Ladies Champion Candice Charisma comes out laughing.  She calls Jade stupid and ignorant as she didn’t even bother to read what she just signed.  Candice says that Jade has put her career on the line all for a shot at her title.   Jade’s face goes white.  Candice says that once she finishes with that chump Ravishing Raquel later tonight, she will give Jade her title shot and then send her to the unemployment line.

Ravishing Raquel is backstage.  She chuckles that the Ladies Champion seems to want to have a beef with everyone on the women’s roster.  Maybe if she keeps picking on people, she’ll intimidate everyone into leaving but she’s not going anywhere.  She’s show the champ that holding the belt doesn’t make you the top dog in this yard.  Candice will learn the hard way that this roster is the toughest she will ever face.

Our next match is ready to begin.  First, El Gato Negro comes out and the fans actually boo her.  She doesn’t even acknowledge them as she heads to the ring.  Next, Lavender Gooms comes out and she makes a bee line for the ring.  El Gato bails to the outside.  The ref announces that this match will be an Anything Goes Street Fight.   This was about as one-sided as it gets.  Now that El Gato is not being cheered by the fans, she seems to have grown as a competitor and now has a ‘take no prisoners’ attitude and that was abundantly clear in this match.  El Gato totally owned this match and Lavender was lucky to get in maybe 6 moves the entire match.  After dominating the match (47 to 145), El Gato hits Lavender with the 9 Lives and makes the cover and gets the pin.  El Gato Negro gets the win much to the dismay of the fans.  She turned her back on them and Lavender and walked to the back.  (15 min)

Texas Wildfire is backstage and says that tonight, the man who stole his title gets what’s coming to him.  The thief will get a healthy Wildfire and once he gets the win, he will be back in the title hunt.

We head to the ring for our third match.  Ravishing Raquel comes out and the crowd pops.  Her music is abruptly cut off when the Ladies Champion Candice Charisma comes out.  The fans boo her and the smile on her face becomes a frown.  She has a mic in hand and reminds everyone (yeah, we know) that this is a non-title match.  Candice doesn’t get any chance for showboating as Raquel goes right on the offensive connecting with a moonsault.  Raquel then picks up the dazed champion and locks in the Ravishing Chickenwing.  Candice struggles trying to reach for the ropes but Raquel has it locked in.  Candice then does the unthinkable…and taps out.  Raquel gets the dominant win in only 2 minutes.  Candice immediately rolls out of the ring, grabs her title and nursing her arm, rushes to the back cursing Raquel the entire way.  Raquel celebrates with the fans briefly before heading to the back.

The Six Man Tag Team Champions Wilber Townsend, Otto Ruthless and Talon McFrost are backstage and they say that after tonight, they will have a new manager in their corner who will help to ensure the belts never leave their waists.  Otto says that Ruth will be one other trophy they will share (SNAP!)  The three have a good laugh but I’m sure their opponent’s wont’ be.

Our next match is a specialty match using Texas Death rules.  The winner of this match will be getting the next title shot at the TV Champion the Unknown Assassin.  First, “Ice Dagger Baby” plays over the loudspeakers and ID makes his way out as the fans boo him.  He flips them off and makes his way to the ring.  Next, the music changes and Texas Wildfire makes his way out and the fans pop huge for him.  He high fives a few of the fans but then runs to the ring.  Ice Dagger bails out of the ring.  TW climbs each of the turnbuckles to louder and louder pops from the crowd.  He gets his coat off and then motions for Ice Dagger to get back in the ring.  Reluctantly (and slower than molasses), ID makes his way back into the ring.  The ref has the bell rung and just as TW was about to tear into him, Ice Dagger jumped out of the ring.  He really is dragging this one out.  Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, he gets back in the ring and this one finally begins.  Only one word can describe this writer’s surprise – DAMN!  Texas Wildfire beat the holy HELL out of Ice Dagger.  This one about as one sided as it could get.  TW had many opportunities to go for a pin or submission but he only wanted to punish Dagger all the more.  10 minutes in, Ice Dagger hits the Ice Breaker and gets a 2 count.  After that, TW went back to what he does best and that was owning the match.  At the 16 min mark, Texas Wildfire grabbed a bullrope and used it to choke Ice Dagger out.  Once ID was sufficiently out, TW went for the pin and got the 3 count.  Texas Wildfire gets the win in dominating fashion (161 to 76).  TW climbed the corner to pops from the fans but then the lights went out and 3 seconds later, we see TW laid out in the ring with the Unknown Assassin and his manager J C Dykes standing over him.  Dykes is laughing and UA is staring at TW laid out.  Dykes grabs the champs’ arm and the two leave.  TW is helped to the back.  (16 min)

The Banker and the Regulators are backstage with their manager Ruth Heartless and they say that the Steel Cage may prevent any outside interference but the champs will not have anywhere to go.  The Regulators say that their title reign begins tonight with the manager of champions Ruth at their side.  The Banker says Ruth is the key to their success so don’t underestimate them.

The Steel Cage is almost complete and we’re getting ready for our next match.  First, Ruth Heartless comes out and introduces her team of the Banker and the Regulators (Mammoth & Mule).  The quartet head down to the ring and enter the cage.  Mammoth begins running the ropes while Mule kicks the cage checking for any instability.  The Banker paces while Ruth provides some last minute advice.  Music changes and out comes the 6 Man Tag Team Champions – Wilber Townsend, Otto Ruthless & Talon McFrost.   They get a little better reception as the fans don’t care for Ruth’s team.  The champs enter the cage and waste no time going after their challengers.  For the first 4 minutes of the match, it was pretty much a dead heat.  All of a sudden, a masked person came to the ring and was attempting to throw a chain to Wilber’s team but Ruth “accidentally” bumped him (or her) and the chain went flying over to the Banker who had no qualms about using to bust Talon up.  The Banker and the Regulators then went on a strong offensive run and the champs just couldn’t keep up.  We join the match now at the 16 minute mark.

Backstage, King Rad Gumbo is with his Queen Ms. Alexandria and he tells her that tonight is their night.  Tonight, the King becomes the World Champion again and with his Queen at his side, nothing will stop them from ruling all of HCW.  He laughs as they walk off.

We go to a different interview area and World Champion Buzz Steel is pacing.  He says that Gumbo is one of the craftiest devils in HCW and tonight, Buzz says that, no offense to his brother Starbuck but this will be the toughest match.  But then after that, so will the next match and so on and so on.  When you’re the World Champion, it’s harder to stay at the top than it is to claw your way up but he is Steel and Gumbo ain’t got nuthin’ on him.

It’s time for our Main Event.  First, the royal music plays and a red carpet is rolled from the stage to the ring.  That is interrupted by “Gumbo 7:30 says it’s suppa time bitch” and his royal pain in the ass-ness King Rad Gumbo and Queen Alexandria make their way out.  She does the royal mock wave and Gumbo gives his own “salute” to the fans.  The two walk down to the ring; Gumbo has one briefcase in his hand and his Queen is carrying the other.  After handing over his scepter, crown and robe, the music changes and out comes the World Champion Buzz Steel.  Buzz high fives the fans as he makes his way to ringside.  Before he can enter the ring, Queen Alexandria walks over and gets in his face.  She begins to jaw jack with him.  He tells her to move or he’ll move her.  He is then blindsided by Gumbo send him crashing into the steel steps.  Gumbo rolls the champ back into the ring and the bell rings but the champ is at a disadvantage.  Queen Alexandria interfered multiple times and even though this was a no DQ match, the ref threatened to eject her from ringside if she interfered again.  Things came down to the wire.  In the 27th minute of the match, Gumbo locked in the Onion Lock (Muta lock) and Buzz fought through the pain and haze for almost 2 minutes.  After making it to the ropes to break the hold, Gumbo got up and was calling for the Crawdad Crunch.  Buzz struggled to his feet.  Gumbo went in but Buzz hit a Buzz Cut out of nowhere and rolled Gumbo up (one of his feet got “caught up” in the ropes) and he got the 1-2-3.  Buzz Steel gets the win and the fans blow the roof off.  Buzz is the victor and holds the title high as the fans pop.  Rad is irate and tries to tell the ref that Buzz had his tights hooked.  Rad, pissed off, takes a mic and says that he is cashing in his second Money in the Bank contract RIGHT NOW!

He attacks Buzz again before the bell even rang in hopes of weakening the champ further.  Queen Alexandria tried to get involved but music hit and out came Starbuck Steel.  The fans popped huge.  Starbuck goes over and has words with the Queen.  Starbuck says something and Ms. Alexandria goes to slap him but Starbuck grabs her wrist and then slaps a handcuff on it.  She is astonished.  Starbuck attaches the other to his own wrist and he brings her over to two chairs that have been set up.  It seems that with her out of the picture, Gumbo is on his own.  Gumbo didn’t really need it as he went toe to toe with the champ for another 15 minutes.  Neither man was able to get a pin or submission.  Queen Alexandria then sprayed something at Starbuck and he was distracted long enough for her to get out of the handcuffs and rush over to hand something to Rad.  Starbuck was up and he grabbed the Queen throwing her over his shoulder and started walking to the back.  This caused just enough of a distraction for Gumbo and that allowed Buzz to hit him with the Buzz Cut and score the 3 count.  Buzz Steel wins back to back matches.  Buzz takes his title and holds it high as he walks up the ramp.  He makes it to the stage and holds it up pointing to the fans.  Gumbo is left screaming at him from the ring.

With that, the show comes to an end.

Thanks for reading.  Tacoma Thunder will be up in just a few short days.
