The show kicks off back in GM Max McGillicutty’s office and in walks the Duchess with Lady Hermann in tow.  The Duchess questions why she and Lady Hermann aren’t given a bye as they are royalty and feel they should be getting a “pass”.  Max tells her that she, like the rest of the Ladies roster, has to pay her dues in THIS type of match if she wants to become Queen of HCW.  She says she’s practically there and says she’ll eliminate anyone who gets in her way.  Lady Hermann gives her a quizzical look but the Duchess backtracks and says “Of course not you” but quickly looks away with an odd expression on her face.  The two leave.   Before Max has a chance to take a breath, Candice Charisma walks in and says she wants a match tonight.  Max tells her it just so happens that she’s already on the card against the Duchess.  Candice snorts in derision.  “I thought I was going to be challenged here.”  Max tells her “Don’t count your chickens before they hatch.  You have to make it through the match first.  Candice turns to walk out and says “Like there’s any question…”  Max shakes his head.

Pyro goes off and we’re ready to kick this one off.  Making his way out first is Outback Oscar and he is accompanied by his tag team partner the US Champion the Crocodile Hunter.  Croc wishes his partner luck and Oscar heads down to the ring to a pop from the crowd.  Next, Otto Ruthess comes out and as he heads down, he glares at Croc and motions that he will take Croc’s belt (although he not even a contender for this title so whatever) and he heads to the ring and the fans boo him.  He of course flips them off and climbs in.  The bell rings pretty quick and these two go at it however it was slow going as both men continued to nullify each other’s moves.  Finally, it started to get interesting when both men went to the outside but after smashing Oscar’s head into the steel steps, Otto rolled back in just beating the 10 count.  Otto gets the win via countout.  Otto takes a mic and demands that, since he beat Oscar, he wants his spot in the top 10.  GM Max McGillicutty comes out and says that it wasn’t a stipulation for this match however, he thinks that Croc vs Otto would be a good match so he makes it so.  Oscar is moved to the top 10 for the hardcore title.

We go backstage where Red McNulty is being interviewed.  Red says that Rad Gumbo is a wannabe Cajun who thinks he actually makes a difference to the world.  He calls Gumbo a glorified jobber with a manager who just stands there.  Tonight, in the steel cage, he will beat Gumbo within an inch of his life and Rad will run home to his mommy and will be gone from HCW for good.

It’s time for the next match.  An explosion rings through the speakers and Bob “Powder” Keg makes his way out to the ring to a mixed reaction from the crowd.  Next, Talon McFrost comes out also to a mixed reaction.  Both men have a stare down in the middle of the ring before the bell sounds kicking this one off.  The two men were pretty evenly matched and with the exception of a couple of high spots, they kept the action mostly on the mat.  Talon kept his eye on the clock and as it neared completion, he began to try and get more aggressive.  He viciously eye raked Bob and when he tried to go for a quick pin, the bell rang bringing this one to a draw.  The two looked like they could keep going but actually ended up shaking hands before separating in the ring.  (20 min draw)

The Duchess is backstage with Lady Hermann and is told about the comments made about her from Candice Charisma.  The Duchess laughed saying Candice pretends to want to run with the big dogs and she’ll prove it tonight.  Also, once she becomes the one true Queen of HCW, she will snuff out anyone who disrespects her…Anyone.

The next match is ready to go.  Wendell Hammerschmidt comes out and the fans boo him as he walks down to the ring.  Next, El Chango comes out first and the fans pop for him.  He shakes hands with the fans as he makes his way into the ring.  Wendell tried for a cheap shot but El Chango dominated the match totally schooling Wendell.  El Chango hits the ropes and nearly takes Wendell’s head off with a flying spinning heel kick.  El Chango makes the cover and gets the 3 count.  El Chango wins and celebrates with the fans as Wendell makes his way to the back.  (8 min)

“The Ragin Cajun” Rad Gumbo is backstage with his manager MJ.  Rad says that tonight, many things will change.  Steel Cages are not forgiving structures and take a measure of pain, suffering and blood as part of the willingness to fight within its four walls.   He will show the Irishman what a pissed off Cajun is like and he promises he will NOT like what he sees.

The Duchess makes her way out to a mixed reaction from the crowd.  Lady Hermann follows closely behind like her bodyguard.  The Duchess gets into the ring and tries to rile up the crowd but they’re pretty lackluster.  Next, Candice Charisma comes out and the fans pop and as she makes her way down to the ring, the Duchess looks flabbergasted at how the fans are reacting to the ‘little-miss-special’.   Candice gets into the ring and Lady Hermann goes to stand outside the ring.  The match was pretty even between the two ladies with Candice matching the Duchess move for move which infuriated her.  The Duchess began to panic and locked Candice up with the All Hail Her Majesty trying for the submission but Lady Hermann took it upon herself to interject herself into the action by blatantly attacking Candice which prompted the ref to ring the bel and call the match disqualifying the Duchess for outside interference.  Candice gets the win and laughs as she leaves.  The Duchess glares at Lady Hermann who shrugs and the two of them leave.  (6 ½ min)

Brick, TNT and the Axe are backstage and they say they’ve waited for this moment since Scooter J cost them the championship.  Axe says that tonight, they will prove they are the superior team when they take the titles home tonight.

As we pan back to the ring, the crew are assembling the steel cage.  Upon completion, the match is started and Red McNulty makes his way out and down to the ring. The fans boo as he enters the steel structure.  Next, over the loudspeakers blares “Gumbo 7:30 says its suppa time, bitch!” and out comes manager MJ and the Ragin Cajun Rad Gumbo.  The fans pop for Gumbo as he makes his way down and he’s all business.  The structure will prevent MJ from providing any assistance to Gumbo.  Gumbo enters the ring and McNulty backs into the corner.  The bell rings and this one is off and running.   The first minute of the match had the two measuring each other up.  Gumbo hits Red with the Bourbon Street Blues.  Red shakes it off.  Gumbo then crushed Red’s fingers against the cage and then hit him with the Onion Lock.  Red catapults Gumbo into the cage but Gumbo locks in the New Orleans Crab.  McNulty almost immediately taps out.  Gumbo then easily made it to the door and exited the cage and this one was over.  Rad Gumbo gets the win in only 4 minutes.  It seemed like sort of a letdown after the buildup of this one.  GM Max McGillicutty comes out and says that Gumbo will go down in the record books as the winner of the match but says the fans here wanted to see a FIGHT.  Max says that the two of them will continue in the cage until one of them can no longer stand or 30 minutes passed.  Gumbo seemed ok with that and re-entered the cage.  The bell rang again.  This time, the fans got a real treat.  The ref left the ring as there would be no pin or submission attempts…just a good ol’ ass beating.  And Red McNulty got his ass handed to him solidly (148 to 89).  Gumbo busted McNulty up early on and Red wore a crimson mask and that may have led to his lack of offense.   8 minutes in, Gumbo climbed to the top of the cage and connected with a B-52 kneedrop and the fans popped huge.  Throughout the match, Gumbo locked Red in the New Orleans crab and even though Red was slapping the mat trying to tap out, there was no one to make the call.  21 minutes in, Gumbo locked in the crab again and McNulty pulled out some brass knuckles and busted Gumbo open with them.  This one went all the way to 30 minutes and the match was called while Gumbo had McNulty trapped in the Onion lock (Muta lock).  Gumbo wins this one decidedly and walks out to the back with MJ and his head held high.  McNulty had to be stretchered out.

The 6 Man Tag team Champs the Steel Curtain and Biceps Bannerman are backstage and they say that the Axe, Brick and TNT are all good competitors but they are not them and as much as Axe and his team may want it, the champs will retain tonight.

It’s time for our main event.  The Axe, Brick and TNT all make their way down to the ring to a pop from the crowd.  Next, the 6 Man tag champs Buzz and Starbuck Steel and Biceps Bannerman come out to what seems like one of the loudest pops of the night (tied with Gumbo).  They get into the ring and after holding the titles high, they went over to shake the hands of their competitors.  The battle begins and after 4 minutes in, Axe was dropkicked out of the ring by Biceps Bannerman (yes that was a sight to see) and Axe fell out of the ring.  In from the crowd came Scooter J and he picked up the Axe and threw him through a table getting injured and being taken out of the match.  Scooter J took off through the crowd.  While that was going on, Brick hit Buzz Steel with a piledriver and went for a pin but got a 1 count.  Buzz tagged out to Starbuck but then all three of the champs entered the ring.  Biceps hit Brick with a Full Nelson lift and slam; Buzz hits Brick with a reverse neckbreaker and then Starbuck threw Brick out of the ring.  Brick was in no shape to make it back into the ring and got counted out.  The Steel Curtain and Biceps retain their titles much to the delight of the fans.  After the match, they went out to check on Axe and Brick.  The champs helped their opponents to their feet and helped them to the back.  The show ended as the champs turned to acknowledge the crowd before going backstage.

Thanks for reading.  Our next show continues the action so be sure to tune in.
