HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2016 #480

Hello fans and welcome back to our next installment of the HCW Wrestling Newsletter.    Today’s show is our first “on the road” show after parking ourselves in our new home of Phoenix, AZ.   We are coming to you live from Tucson, AZ.  Today on the show, we shall see wrestlers challenge for respective placement, Ivan Dragovich has to defend the TV title in a rematch against Reid Rothchild and Drew, the Canadian Love Machine defends his Hardcore title.

First however, we are treated to an update on the Omegatron from King CJ.  The fans pop when he appears and he goes on to say that according to his doctors, he is healing nicely and can confidently say that he is at 62%.  A few fans seem to be bored and roll their eyes.  CJ says he promises to provide updates to his fans at every opportunity so they can follow his progress.

We head to the ring for our first match.  Master Bull comes out and introduces the Fiend.  They head down to the ring and await the Fiend’s opponent of the evening.  We don’t wait long as the Hollywood Star comes out and is booed.   The Star threatens to hit a few of the fans on his way down but he restrains himself enough.  He of course attacks the Fiend before the bell but before Master Bull could complain, the bell is rung starting the match.  Master Bull’s got this guy moving in the right direction as he controlled the match.  If he ran into any issues, Master Bull would provide strategy and that helped the Fiend all the more.  The Hollywood Star got frustrated many times in the match and after eye raking the Fiend, he went for a drop down kick to the head but the Fiend reversed it and nailed the Last Caress (swinging DDT).  The Fiend went for the cover and got the 1-2-3.  The Fiend has ended his losing streak and now hopes to keep it up until he can get himself a title shot.  (12 min)

GM Max McGillicutty is in his office and he addresses the fans both locally and watching on tv.  Max says that Phat Sol has asked that the fans get to vote on the match type between him and Jerry Saunders.  Max says that the fans can vote on one of the following:

Another I Quit but this time, the loser has to say I quit in the mic
Last Man Standing
Boot Camp
Tables, Ladders and Chairs
Phoenix Street fight

Max says he’s giving the fans a week to vote and then will have the match.  There are stations set up for those who are live to cast their vote and those from home can do so from the comfort of their computers/smart devices.

We head back to the ring for our next match.  Queen Beckett comes out first and runs down Tucson.  She then issues an open challenge to any lady in the back who thinks she can take her down.  Madame Jade answers the call.  Jade comes down and we have ourselves a match.  For the first 6 minutes, her royalness had the advantage but it wasn’t until Jade nailed the Jade Breaker for the first time that the tide of the match turned and went in Jade’s favor.  Jade continued to dominate for the remainder of the match.  We got down to the final minute of the match and it looked like this was going to a time limit draw but as Queen Beckett turned to call down the rest of the Queen’s court, Madame Jade nailed the Jade Breaker and quickly rolled Beckett up for the pin.  Madame Jade won this one with 60 seconds to spare.  By this time though, the rest of the Queen’s court (Lady Hermann and the Ladies Champion the British Crippler) ran down and attacked her.  Taylor Bella ran down and grabbed a chair and chased off the Court before they could do much damage to Jade.  Taylor grabbed a mic and challenged Beckett and Lady Hermann to a match.  The Court did not answer the challenge.  (19 min)

Karl Braun is backstage with his manager Ant Graham.  Graham says that the Wraith stole something that wasn’t his (the ranking spot for the hardcore title) and tonight, his man gets his spot back.  Braun promises that he will break the Wraith for stealing from him in the first place.

We head back to the ring for the next match.  “The Gold Standard” Bruce Biltmore is taking on the aristocrat Handsome Hernandez.  Bruce took the fight to Hernandez even at one point blowing gold “dust” into Hernandez’ eyes blinding him.  Hernandez fought through it. Hernandez tried to end the match several times with an armbar submission but Biltmore had great ring presence and always made it to the ropes.  Both men continued to beat the heck out of each other and were both surprised when the bell rang signaling a time limit draw.  Both men looked like they could continue but the ref said it was enough for now.  (20 min)

Larry Morton catches up with Hardcore Champion Drew the Canadian Love Machine and asks about his match tonight against Mountain Man Junior Huber.  Drew says that the first title defense is always the toughest but he feels confident that with Master Bull in his corner, he will walk out with the title.

Music hits and 5th Column member Karl Braun with Ant Graham make their way down to the ring.  Braun is yelling at the fans as he makes his way into the ring.  He hollers for the Wraith to hurry up and get his ass down to the ring.  Max comes out and reminds Ant that he is not allowed at ringside.  Ant produces a legal document that states that he MUST be at his wrestler’s side for all matches regardless of the rules.  The Wraith’s music hits and he gets a pop from the crowd.  He tells Max that it’s ok and he can stay down there.  Braun is pacing in the ring like a caged animal.  The Wraith enters the ring and Karl charges him and Wraith dumps him right out of the ring.  The Wraith goes after Ant Graham who quickly bails out of the ring.  Braun sneaks back in and attacks the Wraith and the match starts.  The Wraith drops Karl with a jab and climbs the ropes to hit a flying elbow but Ant smacks him with his cane and Wraith falls into the ring.  After that, Braun would go on a path of destruction that the Wraith struggled to keep up with.  Graham almost cost Braun the match when he shoved the ref but he ended up begging and pleading and was given a pass.  Braun surprised everyone when he took a page out of Classy Freddie Blassie’s (RIP) playbook and BIT the Wraith in the head drawing blood.  A very pissed off Wraith hurled Braun into the corner and he went up and over the top and hit the floor.  The Wraith then turned his attention to Graham who began to panic.  Braun sneaks back in and hits a low blow followed by the Gestapo drop (a reverse neckbreaker).  Braun rolls the Wraith up and with a handful of tights, he gets the 1-2-3.  Karl Braun just defeated the Wraith and got his spot back in the Hardcore title hunt.  Graham yelled for the rest of the 5th Column but only Baron von Blood came out.  He and Braun double teamed the Wraith until the Stache ran out and chased everyone off with a chair.  He helped the Wraith to his feet.  The two shook hands and left.  (8 min for the match; 15 total for the segment).

Back in the dressing room area, Master Bull presents Reid with a present.  It is a replica of the shorts that Sylvester Stallone wore in the Rocky movies.  Reid says that with Master Bull in his corner and the new “lucky shorts”, this will practically guarantee him the title and with that, Bull’s collection of belts will grow.

The Ambassador comes out and introduces his man “Mountain Man” Junior Huber.  The fans start up a “Zeke” chant and that just pisses the Mountain Man off.   The Hardcore champ Drew, the CLM comes out with Master Bull.  The two talk for a few seconds and then head to the ring.  The ref states that this match will be an “ECW Rules” match.  Even though Huber is much bigger than Drew, the CLM was the more aggressive of the two.  Drew started off going for a superkick which Junior reversed and he went for a military press drop but Drew REVERSED that and hit the La Casita.  He follows it up with a corkscrew pescado and a pin attempt but Junior kicks right out.  Drew continued to outwrestle Junior who seems confused quite a bit.  After dropping Junior with a powerslam, he goes to the outside and drags a table into the ring.  He sets it up but Junior grabs him going for a powerbomb.  Drew reverses it and hits a powerbomb of his own THRU the table.  The Ambassador is astonished and the crowd chants “Holy Shit”.  Drew makes the cover and gets the 1-2-3.  Drew, the Canadian Love machine is victorious in his first title defense.  Master Bull joins him briefly and then they leave. (6 min).  The Ambassador gets Junior and they leave.

In the back, Taylor Bella and Madame Jade approach the Queen’s court and call them cowards for not accepting their challenge.  Master Bull comes over and says these two teams will meet soon.

It is time for our Main Event for the TV title.  Champion Ivan Dragovich (w/ Ant Graham) vs The Elitist Reid Rothchild (w/ Master Bull).  Rothchild comes out with Master Bull wearing his red, white and blue striped shorts with the music from Rocky blaring over the loudspeakers (if we get sued on this, we’re passing that buck on to Reid and Bull).   Ivan comes out with Ant Graham and they waste no time getting into the ring.  GM Max McGillicutty comes out and says that since there is quite a bit of time left, he’s giving this match a 30 minute time limit.  Ivan doesn’t like that.  For 16 minutes, Reid beat the holy hell out of Ivan.  The fans were solidly behind him.  At the 17 minute mark, Ivan hit a low blow followed by a cane shot by Ant Graham that turned the tide of the match.  Ivan then took control for the next 4 minutes.  That is all it took for Reid to regain his composure and open a can of whoop-ass on Ivan.  Ivan panicked and then jumped out of the ring refusing to get back in.  The ref counted and once he hit 10, Ivan was counted out but the belt does not change hands on a CO.  Reid won the match but not the belt.  The fans popped for him but he was not a happy camper.  (21 ½ min)

Max comes out and says that this was the end of the live show.  He continues by saying that the fans in attendance will get a special match for their eyes only.   Max calls out the Queen’s Court (Lady Hermann and Queen Beckett) and tells them to get in the ring.  He then calls out Taylor Bella and Madame Jade and has them go to the ring too.  Max says a match will take place right now and he expects them to entertain the fans.  The women put on a match that rivaled anything the men have ever done.  All 4 women were a thrill to watch as they put their all into the match.  Each one of them hit their specialty moves but no one was able to go for a pin.  Just around the 12th minute, Ladies Champion The British Crippler came out and looked to interfere.  Ravishing Raquel ran down and started to fight with the Crippler.  BC then threw Raquel into her teammates and the ref took that as her getting involved and then disqualified Bella and Jade.  The match is awarded to the Queen’s Court.  Raquel and the Crippler fought to the back.  Lady Hermann and Queen Beckett tried to attack them again but were dispatched by Taylor and Jade.  The event comes to an end with Taylor and Jade signing autographs for the fans.

Thanks for reading.  Be sure to stay tuned as there is lots more to come.
