HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2016 #514

Hello fans and welcome back to our newsletter.  Well, another match is set up for the PPV.  With the tournament win, the Steel Curtain get a title shot against the Smashers.   ‘The Elitist’ Reid Rothchild returns to the ring for his match tonight against ScooterJ however it will NOT be for the TV title.  GM Max McGillicutty was still sore about the “attack” on Reid that put him on the shelf for a few weeks.   Max said he was still investigating and (with the help of our in-house forensic investigator Gardinia Blue) expects to uncover the culprit before the PPV.  Southern Belle returns to action in a match against the Duchess.  Also on the card is El Gato Negro taking on Scarlett Phoenix to see who will go on to the PPV to challenge Ravishing Raquel for the Ladies title.  The title match scheduled for this evening will see Dr. Red Fang get his hands on the Hardcore Champion the Fiend.  Fang has been vocal about getting “his” belt back but will he be able to win the belt without the help of his manager Ant Graham?

The show kicks off with Ravishing Raquel making her way to ringside to sit at commentary.  She is apparently here to scout this next match.  First. Scarlett Phoenix comes out to a good pop from the crowd.  Next, El Gato Negro comes out and she too receives a good pop from the crowd.  The two shake hands as the match kicks off.  Scarlett starts off with a headscissors takedown but El Gato tosses her from the ring.  Scarlett is back in and nails El Gato with a dropkick.  El Gato comes back with the Gato Paw and follows it up with the tail spin.  This went on for about 10 minutes.  Scarlett then hit El Gato with the Black Widow and things started to change in Scarlett’s favor.  El Gato went on the defensive for another 5 minutes while Scarlett got her momentum going.  El Gato brought that to a screeching halt after hitting the 9 lives but she only got a 2 count.  Scarlett began to battle back and nailed a Frankensteiner for a 2 count.  El Gato locked in a Feline Facelock but Scarlett powered out of it and hit the Black Widow again.  She made the cover and with a hook of the leg, got the 1…2…3.  Scarlett Phoenix gets the win and now will get the title shot at Ravishing Raquel at the PPV.  Raquel stands up and looks at Scarlett before leaving.  On her way to the back, a very enthusiastic fan was cheering Raquel on.  Raquel gave her one look and then kept walking.  (19 min).  The fan was ecstatic for the acknowledgement.

Backstage, ScooterJ is with Master Bull and he complains that there is something fishy going on and demands to know why his title shot was revoked.  Bull says he’ll look into it.  ScooterJ says that in the end, it doesn’t matter as he’ll destroy Reid, become the #1 contender and then beat him to become the new champion.  Bull stands in the back acting like a cheerleader (just like Jimmy Hart used to do).

Drew the Canadian Love Machine comes out and says that he’s effectively been cut out of the US title picture so that means that he will set his sights on something else…maybe the World title.  He calls out 5th Column member Oswald Zimmerman and challenges him for his title spot.   Oswald comes out with his manager Ant Graham.  Graham pumps Oswald up and the match begins almost immediately.   Oswald kept Drew on the defensive for most of the match but no matter what he did, he could not get Drew to tap out or stay down for a 3 count.  As the match was nearing the 20 minute mark, Drew began to battle back with an offense that neither Oswald nor Ant had seen.  Drew nailed a corkscrew pescado for a 2 count, a Lover Bomb for a 2 count and another Lover Bomb.  Just as he was going to try to go for the pin, Ant got up on the apron and shoved Drew forcing him to fall into the ref.  The ref however saw this before the collision and immediately disqualified Oswald awarding the match (at the 19 min 47 second mark) to Drew.  Drew now takes over Oswald’s spot.  Drew left the ring before Oswald or Ant could attack him.

The Hardcore Champion the Fiend arrives and says tonight, in the main event, he will embarrass Dr. Red Fang and maybe, just maybe, he’ll leave and never be seen again.

Next on the card is Handsome Hernandez taking on Jesse California.  Jesse seemed to be on the offensive for the majority of the match as Hernandez kept looking over his shoulder presumably watching for an attack from Billy Robbins.  Jesse’s fast foot work kept him mostly out of harm’s way.   Just as the match was nearing the 20 minute mark, Hernandez locked in the arm crossbreaker.  Jesse appeared he was going to tap out but the bell rang bringing this one to a draw conclusion.  Billy did run in from the crowd and Hernandez, even though he just for a 20 minutes battle, had enough in the tank to get him out of there.  Billy followed chasing Hernandez through the crowd.  (20 min draw)

Southern Belle is backstage and she says tonight marks her in-ring return.  She will teach the Duchess the meaning of the word respect even if she has to beat the tar out of her to do it.

Back in Max’s office, investigator Gardinia Blue enters and tells Max that she has uncovered evidence to prove the guilty party in the attack on Reid but tells him he’s not going to like what he sees.  Max asks her to put the tape in and they sit down to watch it.

We go back to the ring for our next match. First, Southern Belle makes her way out and she is booed.  She doesn’t care as she’s not in this for fan appreciation but wants that paycheck.  The Duchess comes out and she receives a slightly better reception.  Again, she doesn’t seem to care as she wants to beat the hell out of Belle.  The bell rings and they two are fighting like cats and dogs.  8 minutes in, the Duchess locks in the All Hail Her Majesty but Belle doesn’t tap out.  Belle battles back until she eats a superkick from the Duchess.  Duchess goes for the pin but only gets a 1 count.  Duchess then tried for a roll up and pull tights but Belle turned it into a victory roll and almost got the 3 count.  Duchess is starting to really get frustrated.  She dazzled Belle with an uppercut but then got tossed out of the ring.  She immediately grabbed a steel chair from ringside and hit Belle with it causing the disqualification.  Southern Belle wins this via DQ and I’m sure nothing at all was settled.  (18 min)

ScooterJ and Master Bull make their way to ringside amidst the booing from the fans.  The fans pop when ‘The Elitist’ Reid Rothchild comes out.  Reid has a mic and tells ScooterJ that it was Max who cancelled the title shot; not him.  He’s back and healthy and ready to go.  He makes his way to the ring and as he enters, Bull and ScooterJ bail.  Reid poses for a moment until ScooterJ climbs back in ready to get this match underway.

For about 6 minutes, Reid looked like he was going to own this match but a distraction from Master Bull turned the tide into ScooterJ’s favor.  ScooterJ then began destroying Reid like he’d done in previous encounters.  Bull kept cheering him on.  At one point, Master Bull grabbed a chair and was going to try to use it on Reid but Reid saw it coming, snatched it away and hurled it out of the ring.  Bull narrowly managed to stay out of Reid’s reach.  ScooterJ and Reid began battling outside the ring.  Reid bodyslammed ScooterJ on the chair and then nailed the Rothchild Stunner on the same chair.  He rolled back in to beat the 10 count and ended up getting the win via countout.  Reid’s celebration is short lived as GM Max McGillicutty storms out.

Max says he has the video proof of who attacked Reid and he wanted it shown right here and right now.  The video airs with Reid setting some stuff up.  Master Bull walks over…and the two hug!  WHAT THE HELL?  Bull then helps set the stage for the ‘attack’ as Reid covers himself in a thick red liquid.  Bull begins kicking stuff over making a commotion and then takes off.  The video ends with Max walking into the scene calling for medical.

By now, Master Bull and Reid are in the ring together.  Bull says that it was all an elaborate setup so that the newbie ScooterJ could feel good about getting a win.  Reid says the whole thing was their idea from the start.  Max says that someone is going to be suspended for this.  Bull reminds him that since there was technically no ‘attack’ on Reid, no one could be suspended.  The two have a good laugh until ScooterJ slides into the ring and lays them both out with steel chair shots.  ScooterJ says that he’s no one’s patsy and tells Max that he wants his title shot.  If he can’t win the belt, he will agree to become Reid’s servant for 2 months.  ScooterJ then leaves the ring as both Reid and Bull struggle to get to their feet.  (11 ½ min for the match; 20 total for the segment)

Backstage, Dr. Red Fang is with his manager Ant Graham.  He says that tonight, he regains his title.  Ant reminds him that during a hardcore rules match, he cannot interfere.  Fang doesn’t care and tonight, it’s all about HIM.  When asked if Fang thought this would be an easy match, Fang replied “If you have a question, ask my manager Ant Graham.”  Fang heads to the ring.

The Main event is up next.  Dr. Red Fang (minus his manager) makes his way to the ring.  Fang is barely in the ring when the Misfits blare over the loudspeakers and the Hardcore Champion the Fiend makes his way to the ring to a huge pop.  The Fang is asked what rules he wanted for tonight’s show.  The Fiend tells them it is street fight rules.  The two immediately start hitting each other with anything they could find.  From steel chairs to cups of warm beer were haphazardly used throughout the match.

Stay tuned for our next episode.  Things are really heating up now.

HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2016 #513

Hello fans and welcome back to our newsletter.  Today’s show will be a tag team tournament to determine who will go on to meet the Smashers for the World Tag Team titles at the Halloween Scream PPV.  Let’s get right to the matches.

Round 1 Matches:

Match 1:  The Desperados vs the Ryzing Storm
The Desperados win this match easily, with quick tags and double teaming for 10 mins with Leon Teremoto executing his finisher the Gorilla Hug for the submission at the 13th minute of the match.

Match 2: Superquake Ferguson & Angry Jack Lawson vs Niven & Leiton Snake
SuperQuake and Lawson win handily, in 5 mins with Quake nailing the splash on Niven Snake after miscommunication by the Snakes.

Match 3:  Outback Oscar & The Crocodile Hunter vs Ferb & Junior Huber
This was a brutal match but the Aussies get the win in the 19th minute with both Outback Oscar and Junior Huber wearing Crimson Masks.  Paramedics had to come to cart out all 4 men after the match.  We have a feeling that this rivalry is just beginning, and is going to get worse.

Match 4:  Wilbur Townsend & Butch Huber vs Baron von Blood & Karl Braun
Another vicious match ending with bloody faces and broken bodies as Wilbur Townsend executes the Go to Sleep, not once, not twice, but three times on a steel chair while the ref was out, on Baron von Blood in the 18th minute.

Match 5:  Hollywood Star & ‘the Gold Standard’ Bruce Biltmore vs Jesse California & Dude USA Mick Rude

In a high flying and highly technical match, the new team of the California Connection wins over the team of Star and Biltmore as Biltmore submitted to a bodyscissors sleeperhold by Jesse California when the Hollywood Star was distracted by Arrow star, Stephen Amell and his guest from Legends of Tomorrow, Dominic Purcell.

Match 6:  Haagen & Daas vs Adam Jameson & Billy Robbins
The most lackluster of the matches with both teams having a hard time getting started that ended by injury when Daas tried to execute a German Suplex off the turnbuckle and his knee gave out in a horrible display.  Both teams stopped wrestling and called for paramedics in a great display of sportsmanship despite the lackluster match.  The winners, due to injury are Jameson and Robbins.

Match 7: Oswald Zimmerman & Ivan Dragovich (put together by GM Max McGillicutty) vs Handsome Hernandez & Wendell Hammerschmidt.

Its former team-mates the Iron Cross and Ivan being forced to team together to take on Handsome Hernandez and Wendell Hammerschmidt.  The ref, if he had control for a minute, would be giving him 45 seconds too much credit.  The match took place more on the outside of the ring than it did inside.  High flying from the ring to the concrete, and prodigious use of the steel steps and well as destruction of the Spanish announce table as mayhem ruled.  Finally, the teams returned to the ring only to have a battered Ivan Dragovich get finished by the Arm-Breaker in the 18th minute by Handsome Hernandez.  After the match, Oswald attacked Ivan and the two men fought to the back.

Match 8:  Muscles Weasley & McGuire vs the Steel Curtain (Buzz & Starbuck Steel)
In a rematch to end all rematches, the Muscles Boys, with Muscles Thorpe banned from ringside and warned that if he makes an appearance from the back, the Muscle Boys would be DQ’ed and suspended.  The rivals wasted absolutely no time in bringing the fight to one another with Weasley and Buzz Steel take up the first 10 minutes of the match, with Steel getting the better of Weasley.  A hot tag to Starbuck kept Weasley in there until the 16th minute, before he raked the eyes of Starbuck to get the tag to McGuire.  But a double team and the execution of both Steel finishers and in the 18th minute, the Steel Curtain end their rivalry with the Muscles Trio and advance.

Round 2
Match 1:  The Desperados vs Superquake Ferguson & Angry Jack Lawson
Superquake and Jack did not have such an easy time with this one.  Multiple time HWF/CSWA tag team champs El Chango and Leon Teremoto were a well-oiled machine whereas Jack and Ferguson struggled after about 5 min.  El Chango gets the win with the Diamond Dust in 14 min on Jack.  Could they go all…the…way?

Match 2:  Outback Oscar & The Crocodile Hunter vs Butch Huber & Wilber Townsend
A brawl from the get-go, hardly any technique could be found in this match.  Blood was spilt.  Huber & Oscar spent most of the match fighting on the outside of the ring.  Wilber gets the win on Croc with the Go to Sleep.  12 min

Match 3:  Dude USA Mick Rude & Jesse California vs Adam Jameson & Billy Robbins
Lot of high flying from all 4 men.  Handsome Hernandez made his presence known but Billy fights him off.  He turns back around and Mick Rude nails the Dude Awakening to score the pin.  17 min.  AJ and Billy were not happy the way this one finished.  Billy could be heard saying that Hernandez will get his.

Match 4:  Handsome Hermandez & Wendell Hammerschmidt vs the Steel Curtain
Hernandez kept watching over his shoulder and not paying attention during the match.  Wendell gets dumped outside the ring by Starbuck.  Billy comes down and distracts Hernandez and Buzz hits the Buzzkill (insuguri).  He tags out and Starbuck hits the Shooting Starbuck to score the pin.  8 min

Round 3
Match 1:  The Desperados vs Butch Huber & Wilber Townsend
The technical expertise and speed of the Desperados kept Huber and Wilber on the defensive.  Leon ends up hitting his head on the steel post busting him open but that didn’t faze him.  In fact, the blood made Leon a little more vicious.  Wilber was on the receiving end until he made the hot tag to Butch.  Butch came in only to get caught in the Gorilla Hug.  Wilber tried to come back in but El Chango dropped him with a superkick.  Butch submits.  17 min.

Match 2:  Dude USA Mick Rude & Jesse California vs The Steel Curtain
This one saw no dirty tricks, no short cuts; only mutual respect however that didn’t stop the Steel curtain from owning this match.  The tag team specialists continued the form that got them this far.  Buzz connects with a flying body press after bouncing off the ropes to get the 3 count pinning Dude USA.  All 4 men shook hands afterwards although the California Dreamers were disappointed.  10 min.

Round 4
The Desperados vs the Steel Curtain

Promo
The Steel Curtain are backstage and they cut a quick promo.  Buzz starts off.  “You come after us with a head butt; we hit you with an arm bar.  You hit us with a pair of brass knuckles, we hit you with a steel chair.   You put one of us in a Gorilla Hug and we hit you with the Shooting Starbuck.  THAT is the Steel Curtain way.”  Starbuck leans in and delivers his new catchphrase… “Word”.

These two teams know each other very well.  It seems that the 10 minutes that the Desperados had off refreshed and revitalized them whereas the Steel Curtain was still recovering from their last match.  The Desperados isolated Buzz and kept him from making the tag.  After 10 minutes, Buzz hits Leon with the Buzz Cut but instead of going for the pin, he makes the hot tag to Starbuck.  ‘Buck cleans house and starts to take control of the match but the Desperados retake control.  El Chango goes for a superplex but Starbuck nullifies it and then hits El Chango with the Starplex (slingshot suplex) to get the win.  25 min.

Just as the show is coming to an end, the World Tag Team Champions the Smashers come out and attempt to go to the ring but MJ stops them.  MJ starts talking into his mic.

“I said that it would take a miracle for you to ever see this team in the ring for gold but I guess miracles do in fact happen.  As much as I want, I could send these guys down now and prove a point…one that everyone already knows and that is that THESE two are the ONLY Champs but we’re going to let you heal up and be at 100% because we don’t want any excuses when the REAL champs beat your sorry asses in the middle of the steel cage.  When that happens, the world will know who the TRUE Champions are.”

With that, the show comes to a close.  Stay tuned…more to come.

HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2016 #512

Hello fans and welcome back to our newsletter.  Our PPV is now just a few weeks way.  GM Max McGillicutty gives us an update as to what we can expect from our first PPV outside of the four corner states.

“Fans near and wide, Halloween Scream PPV is nearly here but I want to do something unique this time around.  We are actually going to have fewer matches on the actual card itself but will give each of those champions 1 hour time limit/best of 3 falls opportunities to defend and retain their titles.  There will be 3 titles on the line:  The Stache, if he retains tonight, will face an opponent not yet determined.  Also, Ravishing Raquel will defend her Ladies title…opponent TBD.  The final belt that will be on the line will be the World Tag Team Championship held by the Smashers.

Here is my plan to determine who will get what.  On our 10/16 show, we are going to have a Tag Team Tournament with the winning team getting the shot at the Smashers.   On our 10/19 show, El Gato Negro challenges Scarlett Phoenix with the winner getting the shot at Ravishing Raquel.  Finally, on the 10/26 show, there will be a ‘Roster Rumble’ in which all singles wrestlers (except those out on medical leave) will participate in a battle royal to see who gets the shot at the Stache.   The only other match that will take place will be ‘the King of Cones’ Magnum Kone taking on ‘the Ragin Cajun’ Rad Gumbo.  It will be Gumbo 7:30 vs Kone 8:13 in a buried alive match.  I’ve told both men that this is it; there is a winner and they move on.   Gumbo has won most of the battles; can Kone win the war?

Tonight, the Steel Curtain and Biceps Bannerman defend the trophy against the Muscles Trio.  Also, Drew the Canadian Love Machine and Chic Monroe square off to see who takes on the Savior for the US title.  The Stache, as mentioned earlier, defends his title against Sonic Blade.  This and much more are ready to go so let’s get this party started.”

Our first match of the night kicks off with Handsome Hernandez making his way down to the ring.  His opponent Outback Oscar comes out next to a big pop.  Both men were pretty evenly matched.  Oscar started to take the lead and then locked in the Outback Stretch that made Hernandez panic.  Hernandez hit Oscar with a low blow (the ref didn’t see it) and then he dumped Oscar to the floor. He followed him out and executed a snap suplex onto the steel steps.  Hernandez rolled back in at the last minute and Oscar got counted out.  Handsome Hernandez wins this one via countout.  A commotion comes from the crowd as Billy Robbins runs down and gets in the ring and the two slug it out until 6 refs come out to break it up.  It took a while to finally get them and keep them separated.  Robbins throws out a challenge to Hernandez to meet him in a Tables, Ladders and Chairs match.  Hernandez accepts.  That match will be soon.  (8 min for the match; 15 for the segment)

The Wraith makes his way down to the ring after everyone had cleared out.  He takes the mic and says that he will accept Texas Wildfire’s challenge but only on one condition.  This brought out TW and he asked what the condition was.  The Wraith said that he wanted Wildfire to fight tonight against an opponent of his choosing.  Win or lose, he will still have his match but wants to see him in action.  TW accepts the condition and then asks who his opponent will be tonight.  The Wraith nods his head and says “that man” and as TW turns, Dr. Red Fang attacks him and ends up dragging him to the ring.  The Wraith then pulls off his shirt revealing a ref’s shirt.  During the match, the Wraith would slow count any time TW went for a pin or submission but would fast count if Fang went for one.  Dr. Red Fang held the advantage (through his level of ferocity) but TW would not give up.  As the clock ticked down, Fang hit TW with a skull crusher.  As he went for the pin, TW got his foot on the ropes.   The Wraith KICKED his foot off and then tried for another fast count but the bell rang bringing this one to a draw.  The Wraith was just as pissed as Dr. Red Fang was.  Fang snarled and left, surprisingly without any further attacks.  The Wraith jumped out of the ring and was searching for something under the ring.  He pulled out a bull rope and then climbed back in the ring and began choking the Texas Wildfire with it.  The Wraith laughed psychotically and refs ran back out to break it up.   The Wraith left yelling “THAT is how you do it” and continued to laugh all the way to the back.  (20 min for the match; 25 total for the segment)

Southern Belle makes her way out to the ring and tries to act like she’s the victim here.  She calls out the Duchess and tries to explain but the Duchess blows her off.  Belle then attacks the Duchess beating her down.   She hit the Southern Swing twice to make sure Duchess didn’t get back up.  Belle then got on the mic and called out GM Max McGillicutty.  Belle tells Max that she wants to be reinstated as a wrestler.  Max tells her he never terminated her contract because he knew she’d be back.   He says that Belle can get into the ring at any time.  Belle says she wants the Duchess as soon as possible.  Max says he will make it happen.

As soon as Belle left, Pete the PUN-isher came out.  He was not nice towards the fans.  At one point he asked a guy sitting at ringside “Dude, when was the last time you showered?”  The fan did not take it too well and the fans around him rallied and the level of noise they met was louder than anything Pete has come across yet.  He didn’t let it phase him.  He took a mic and broke into some *shudder* puns.

Show me a piano falling down a mineshaft and I'll show you A-flat minor.
I relish the fact that you've mustard the strength to ketchup to me.
When William joined the army he disliked the phrase 'fire at will'.
The shoemaker did not deny his apprentice anything he needed. He gave his awl.
A new type of broom came out, it is sweeping the nation.

Before he could continue, The Axe came out (the fans cheered just because he got Pete to stop talking).  “Dude, listen, I know your parents probably sheltered you growing up but you are just…not…funny.  Stop with the damn puns already.  This is a wrestling ring, not a comedy stage.  We WRESTLE here.”  Pete, not surprisingly, attacked Axe.  Our match is now underway.  This one didn’t go very long and Axe underestimated Pete.  Axe looked like he was trying to “take it easy” on Pete and he retaliated by showing what he could do in the ring.  Right about the 6th minute, Pete tossed Axe from the ring.  He followed him out and before Axe could get up, he nailed a PUN-t to the head.  Pete rolled back in to break the count and Axe ended up getting counted out.  Pete the PUN-isher got the win.  I’m sure Axe will be adding Pete to his “chopping block”.  (6 ½ min)

There are a couple of backstage segments.  First, the Stache is being interviewed and he says that he’s intrigued with how the Roster Rumble is going to play out.  He is asked, that by looking to the Rumble, is he passing over Sonic Blade?  Stache says that, taking nothing from Sonic but that ‘Blade’ is dull and he will retain tonight.

Elsewhere, Drew the Canadian Love Machine says, as much as he wants to get in a battle of wits with the Savior, he’s going to do it in the ring.  Once the Savior gets those shoulders pinned for the 3 count, he will reinstate the “US” name.

We head back to the ring for the next match.  Superstar Chic Monroe makes his way out to the ring.  Next is not Drew but is the S.H.I.T champion the Savior.  Monroe has some words for him as the Savior goes to sit at commentary.  Finally, Drew comes out and he is pumped.  The fans are behind him 100%.   The Savior actually hit Drew in the knee with a chair and that put Drew on the defensive.  Monroe used the injury to his advantage and plain outwrestled Drew.  The two fought hard but the longer the match went, the more in pain Drew appeared to be.  Drew got to the point where he hit Monroe with the Lover Bomb and his leg gave out so the move didn’t do much damage to Chic but hurt Drew.  Chic then nailed a Cradle Facebuster and got a 1 count.  Chic then hit a strait jacket suplex and went to make the cover.  Drew was close to the ropes but the Savior held down Drew’s leg preventing him from kicking out of the pin.  Chic Monroe gets the win and will go on to face the Savior for the S.H.I.T championship.  (12 min)

Backstage, the Muscles Trio are doing their goofy skit and are asked if they are taking this match lightly.  Thorpe says that the last time they met, the Steel Curtain and Biceps owned them.  He says that they are on a roll after defeating the 5th Column and tonight, that trophy comes with them.

The 6 Man Champs are also backstage.  Buzz says that the Muscles Trio is tougher than they look and they are not taking this lightly.  Starbuck adds that they have a mutual respect for the Trio and tonight’s match is not about revenge or payback; it’s about defending a championship that they’ve held for 4 months and are still undefeated.  Biceps chimes in and says that tonight’s match will be no different than in the past.  They walk in the champs and will walk out the champs.  All three men lean in and say “Word”.

The Muscles Trio (Weasley, Thorpe and McGuire) all head to the ring.  They put on their comedy skit but they are taking this match seriously.  The Champs then come out with the trophy on a flatbed cart.  All 6 men get in the ring and actually shake hands before the bell rings.  Right off the bat, the champs triple teamed McGuire and after that it was all the champs.  About 7 minutes in, the 5th Column led by Ant Graham came out.  They surrounded the ring.  Weasley got thrown out of the ring by Starbuck.  Ant Graham then distracted the ref and the 5th Column destroyed Weasley.  Weasley ends up getting counted out and the Steel Curtain and Biceps retain the trophy.  (8 min).  Ant Graham gets on the mic and says that the 5th Column should have had this match.  The champs agree to an impromptu match and it appears that the trophy is on the line.

Ant did a better job leading his team but the champs were still that much better.  At the 10 minute mark, the Muscles came back out and distracted the 5th Column.  The champs then triple teamed their opponents.  Biceps threw Baron von Blood out of the ring; Buzz hurled Karl Braun out of the ring and Starbuck hit the “out of this world” dropkick on Oswald Zimmerman and he ended up…yep…on the outside of the ring.  Ant complained to the ref and this time it backfired.  The Muscles ended up attacking each member of the 5th Column and they ended up getting counted out.  The Champs are victorious in their second match of the evening.  (10 min).  After the match, Ant Graham got in the ring and started going off on the champs.  They surrounded him and Starbuck hurled Ant into the corner.  Biceps ran and squashed him in the corner.  Buzz picked Ant up and hit the Buzzkill.   Starbuck went to the top rope and hit the Shooting Star Buck.  The Champs celebrated with the Muscles Trio and then left the carnage behind.

Sonic Blade is backstage and he says that tonight is the biggest night of his career.  He is not taking the Stache lightly and knows what to expect.  He promises to give his all and that is all he can do.

Sonic Blade makes his way out to the ring to a good pop from the crowd.  Next, the World Champion the Stache makes his way out.  He was kind of egotistical in his last promo and some of the fans didn’t take too well to it.  GM Max McGillicutty comes out and says that he’s giving them 30 minutes to put on a hell of a match.  And that they did.  Sonic started off slow but after about 3 min, he really gave it his all.  The two went toe to toe for 11 minutes.  The Stache, while both men were on the floor, hurled Sonic into the steel steps and Sonic was hurt.  He couldn’t muster any offense for almost 5 minutes.  Finally, he got his second wind but the damage was done.  We pick this up at the 15 minute mark.

The Stache wins with a RODEO ROUNDHOUSE (KICK) over Sonic Blade!!!  The Stache retains his title.

All of a sudden, balloons and streamers began falling from the ceiling.  The fans wondered what was going on.  It turns out today is the champ’s birthday.  Random people (no idea who they are) started to bring out party favors (hats, noisemakers etc) and handed them to the fans.  It was announced that it was the Stache’s birthday and that it was felt that he deserved something (besides a win).  Those random people began singing “Happy Birthday” and the show ended with the Stache posing with the belt on the turnbuckle.

That’s all for now.  Stay tuned for more action.

HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2016 #511

Hello fans and welcome back to our newsletter. As we inch closer to our next PPV Halloween Scream, the matches are starting to take shape.  Today’s show will have El Gato Negro taking on the Duchess with Southern Belle, Scarlett Phoenix takes on Missy Chick, ScooterJ sees action, Hardcore Champ the Fiend defends his title against Turnip, P&L take on the Desperados and more.  Let’s head to the ring for our first match.

Pyro goes off as our show kicks off.  Missy Chick comes out to start things off and she gets a decent pop from the crowd.  Next, her opponent Scarlett Phoenix comes out to a bigger pop.  The two ladies shake hands in the ring and this one is underway.  It seemed like it took Scarlett a few minutes to get things going. In the first 5 minutes of the match, she only got in one offensive move (Missy kept reversing or nullifying her moves).  Finally, connecting with a flying body press started to get things moving. Missy tried for the Missy Plex but Scarlett reversed that and planted her with the Black Widow.  Scarlett makes the quick cover and gets the 3 count.  Missy seemed a little perturbed but both women shook hands at the end.  (8 min)

‘The Elitist’ Reid Rothchild is backstage and he is not a happy camper.  Reid condemns ScooterJ and Master BS (fans begin a BS chant) for their cowardly attack.  Reid says that thanks to their actions, he hasn’t been cleared to wrestle until 10/19.  At that show, he will teach them both the meaning of PAIN! (He emphasized that last word in the voice of Mr. T)

ScooterJ and Master Bull (BS chants start up again) make their way out for their match.  Wendell Hammerschmidt, ScooterJ’s opponent comes out next.  Wendell put up a heck of a fight and this one was about as even (on a point basis) as you can get. ScooterJ really didn’t seem all that interested in the match (obviously because he wants Reid in the ring) but changed his tune after Wendell connected with the Red Arrow.  ScooterJ went out of the ring twice to confer with Master Bull. He gets back into the ring after receiving some Intestinal Fortitude and nailed Wendell with a piledriver.   Just as ScooterJ was getting ready to go for the pin, Reid Rothchild ran down with a chair and blasted ScooterJ with it.  The ref calls for the bell and ends up disqualifying Wendell for outside interference.  Reid chased Master Bull with the chair but Bull stayed just one step ahead.   Reid got back in the ring and locked ScooterJ in the Figure Four Reid Lock.  ScooterJ screamed but Bull couldn’t get back in the ring. Reid finally let up and said he’d see him in 10 days.  (17 ½ min for the match, 22 for the segment)

Backstage in his office, GM Max McGillicutty meets with the manager of the 5th Column Ant Graham and the Muscles Trio.  Max tells them that the 5th Column and the Muscles Trio will face off later today and the winner will get the next title shot at the 6 man tag team trophy.  Muscles Weasley starts to strut around playing a toy trumpet.  Muscles McGuire and Thorpe start off singing “The Battle Hymn of the Republic”. Max rolls his eyes as Ant Graham looks on in disgust.

We head back to the ring for our next match.  P&L (Phat Sol and Lucas Johnston) and their manager the Ambassador all make their way to the ring.  Next, their opponents the Desperados (El Chango & Leon Teremoto) come out.  The Desperados don’t seem to like these guys so, naturally, they attack them.  Phat & Lucas bail out of the ring.  Things finally kick off and the match begins.  For the first 7 minutes of the match, the two teams were fairly even.  After eating the Ground N Pound from Leon, Lucas began to falter.  The Desperados kept Lucas in their corner and continued the beatdown.  After being sequestered for 8 minutes, Lucas makes the hot tag to Phat Sol.   Phat isn’t in the ring very long and he tags a weary Lucas back in.  The same thing happened again with the Desperados keeping Lucas on their side of the ring.  During a double team by the Desperados, Phat decided he had enough and joined in the fray.  All 4 men fought until the bell rang signaling a time limit draw.  The Ambassador quickly grabbed his team and took them to the back.  The Desperados, still hungry for action, followed. (20 min draw)

Backstage, The Duchess is with her manager Southern Belle.  Belle tells her that after she destroys El Gato tonight, she will be back in line for a title shot.  The Duchess asks “what do you mean ‘back in line’?  I was the CHAMPION.  I deserve my immediate rematch.”  Belle had to explain that sometimes that wasn’t how things worked out.  The Duchess was not a happy woman.

We head to the ring for our next match.  First, the Muscles Trio (Weasley, Thorpe & McGuire) head to the ring. They are dressed in their rainbow attire wearing their rainbow colored bull horns.  They strut to the ring all playing toy trumpets.  Ant Graham then appears and with mic in hand, tells them to “grow up and stop acting like a bunch of morons.”  The Muscles Trio mock Ant and the manager finally calls out his team.  Baron Von Blood, Oswald Zimmerman and Karl Braun, the 5th Column, make their way down to the ring.  The winner of this match will get the shot at the 6 man championship.  For all their hemming and hawing, the 5th Column were just not as good as the Muscles Trio.  The Trio outwrestled their counterparts at every step. Ant tried to get involved early but Muscles Thorpe ended up handcuffing him to the ringside railing effectively nullifying him.  Muscles Thorpe caught Karl Braun entering the ring and sqashed him with the E-train.  He followed it up with the Muscles Crush.  Thorpe makes the cover as Weasley and McGuire take out the Baron and the Iron Cross.  Thorpe gets the 1-2-3 and they will go on to meet (once again) the Steel Curtain & Biceps Bannerman for the 6 Man Championship.  (15 min)

El Gato Negro is backstage and says tonight is her night when she takes on the Duchess and finally, she’ll get what’s coming to her…a shot at the Ladies title.

The Duchess with Southern Belle comes out first.  She is, of course, booed.  Belle yells at the fans telling them to shut up and sit down.  El Gato Negro comes out and Belle exits the ring as El Gato climbs the turnbuckles to the cheering from the fans.  The ref reminds us that this is a 30 minutes time limit match.  Belle really didn’t do much for the former champ as she was too busy jawjacking with fans at ringside.  We join the match at the 12 min mark.

The Duchess (f) was pinned by El Gato Negro (f)!!!

El Gato Negro (f) wins with a 9 Lives over The Duchess (f)!!!

The Duchess is beside herself after she realized that Southern Belle wasn’t even paying attention.  El Gato celebrated but left quickly.  Southern Belle gets in the ring and tries to console her protégé but the Duchess won’t have it.  “Listen Duchess, this is only a minor setback.  I’ll get you your rematch” Belle says. The Duchess is not having it.  “Belle, you know what?  Since you ‘took me on’, I lost my title and now I lost to someone who is inferior to me.  YOU are not worthy to be at my side.  In fact, you know what?  You’rrrrrrrrrrrrre Fiiiiiiiiiiiired.”  Belle can’t believe it and the fans pop.  The Duchess storms out of the ring and Belle is left behind bewildered.

Rad Gumbo addresses the return of Magnum Kone.  “Ya know Mon Ami, dis is gotten real real.  You an Me, we gonna fight; we gonna beat de shite out of each udder.   But one ting is clear…You are finished.  No more of dis back and forth…you gonna go Deax Deax (go to sleep) after I’m dun wid you.  Gumbo 7:30 isn’t just de catchphrase of de year; it is MY way o’ life.  Dere is no way I’m not walking out of dere.  Kone, one way or a nudder, we finish this…Cajun Style!”

It is time for our main event.  Turnip makes his way to the ring to a decent pop from the crowd.  Next, the Hardcore champion the Fiend makes his way out and he too gets a pop.  The Fiend tells Turnip that he’s in a giving mood and says he’ll let Turnip choose the stipulation of their match.  Turnip thinks about it for a moment and chooses an ECW rules match.  The two men shake hands as the match begins.  This one really was unfair as Turnip really didn’t get much in the way of offense and the champ owned it from beginning to end.  After the Fiend laid in with the 3 Hits from Hell (rapid punches), he made the cover to get the 1-2-3.  The Fiend retains his title in a 16 minute match.   As the Fiend is celebrating, Dr. Red Fang runs down and attacks the Fiend laying him out with a Vampire Lunge.   He then takes Turnip and puts him through a table covered in thumbtacks.  Fang pulls the Fiend out of the ring and takes him to the announcers table.  He then hits a Transylvania piledriver and the table collapses.  The Fiend is out.  Fang jumps back into the ring and screams “VAMPIRE LUNGES FOR EVERYONE” as the show comes to an end.  (16 min for the match; 22 for the segment)

That’s all for now.  I’m sure the Fiend will finally give Dr. Red Fang the answer he’s been waiting for very soon.

HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2016 #510

Hello fans and welcome back to our newsletter.  Tonight, we’ll get to see our World Champion the Stache in action when he defends his title against Tobias Snake.  Also, the Steel Curtain will get in the ring with the Smashers but MJ said this would NOT be a title match.  There will also be a fatal 4 way to determine who will take on the Savior for the US title.

Our show kicks off with a ladies match.  Sarona Reiher makes her way out to the ring to a decent reaction from the crowd.   Next, the ‘colorful’ Lexy Flexx makes her way out and receives a much bigger pop.  Sarona doesn’t like that.  She immediately attacks Lexy as soon as the bell rings.  Reiher was the more aggressive of the two and that carried her throughout the match. Lexy connected with some Japanese arm drags but dropped to the mat after eating a savate kick.  Sarona then hit a Samoan drop and hooked the leg to get the 1-2-3.  Sarona kicks Lexy out of the ring and celebrates to the booing from the fans before departing.  (7 min)

Texas Wildfire makes his way out and stands in the ring with a bullrope over his shoulder.  The fans pop for him.  “Ever since I was knee-high to a mosquita I wanted to...wrassle. I worked haaard to get to the HC dubya. I appreciate all of you fans out there cheerinnn' for the Wildfyah. They put me in the ring with The Wraith. What you do Wraith isn't wrasslin'. You take cheap shots! You don't have the honor the good lord blessed most men with! So Wraith, I have a proposal...if you will. You see this bullrope over mah shoulder? How about I tie one end to my wrist and the other end to your wrist and we have a good old-fashioned bullrope match? You see, since you don't want to wrestle I'm going to have to beat ya like you stole sumthin'. The Wildfyah is gonna stoop to your level in this match Wraith! It's gonna be an old fashioned barnyard whoopin! I'm gonna drag your sorry behind all over the ring! If you got any kind of guts....any kind of heart, you'll strap this bullrope to your wrist. Let's see who can get the dirtiest Wraith! I know the fans here in Phoenix Arizona want to see me beat ya!”      “Wraith..........I'm easy to find.”

We head back to the ring for our next match.  The Steel Curtain (Buzz and Starbuck Steel) make their way out first to a huge pop from the crowd.  Manager MJ comes out and the fans begin to boo.  MJ introduces the Tag Team Champions and the FUTURE of this sport – the Smashers.  The three make their way to the ring and it’s apparent who the fans want to win this match.  It was also apparent who the better tag team is and it is NOT the champs.  The Steel Curtain, with their quick tags, kept the champs disoriented and that really bothered MJ.  Seeing that his team was on the verge of losing, he slipped Smasher #1 a foreign object that was used to knock out Starbuck.  Buzz took out Smasher #1 but he was not the legal man and Smasher #2 used the distraction to hit Buzz with the Fade to Black and with a hook of the leg (and the tights) he got the 1-2-3.  Smasher #2 then picks up Buzz and hits the Steel Smasher and then dumps him out of the ring.  MJ gets on the mic and asks the fans why they back up a team that sucks so bad.  The fans boo and begin throwing stuff at them in the ring.  MJ says that nothing short of a miracle will allow the Steel Curtain a shot at the Tag Team titles.  MJ leaves with the Smashers.  (10 min)

The Duchess and her manager Southern Belle complain that once again, El Gato Negro has interfered in her matches and this time cost her the title.  She wants El Gato in a match.  El Gato wanders over and agrees to the match but only if the winner gets the title shot at the champ at the PPV AND it must be a 30 min time limit match.  Southern Belle agrees on behalf of her client but says it can’t be tonight and will be at an upcoming show so the Duchess can prepare properly.

We head back down to the ring for our next match.  The Wraith comes out first and he is booed almost as bad as the Smashers were.   Next, Desperado member Leon Teremoto comes out and his reaction is just slightly better than that of the Wraith.  It’s interesting that GM Max McGillicutty would put two “heels” in a match against each other.   The Wraith was taking the match to Leon and pretty much had this one locked up until Leon put together a couple of moves that gave the Wraith pause – a spinebuster followed by the ground and pound.  The Wraith, thinking the match was in jeopardy (it really wasn’t), he rolled out of the ring, grabbed a chair and blasted Leon with it resulting in a disqualification.  Leon Teremoto wins this one via DQ.  The Wraith, hurls the chair to the ground and storms off.  Texas Wildfire runs down and the two fight all the way to the back. (7 min)

Backstage, the Saskatchewan Heavyweight International Champion The Savior mocks Drew’s “Canadian” heritage and says he been Americanized.  He should call himself the American/International Man of Stupidity (Austin Powers music plays in a mockery).  He tells Drew that if he ever gets back in the ring with him, his career will be over.

We’re back in the ring for our final four way.  First, making his way to the ring is Desperado member El Chango.   He is then followed out by ‘Perfect Pecs’ Stoddard.  Third, Billy Robbins is announced but he is injured (at the hands of Handsome Hernandez) so Superstar Chic Monroe takes his place.  Lastly, Superquake Ferguson comes out and before he can head to the ring, he asks for a mic.  He says he’s not feeling all that great today and “trust me, I don’t think you’ll want me in that ring…if you catch my drift.  Instead, I think that this man should take my place in this match.”  Music hits and out comes Drew, the Canadian Love Machine.  The crowd pops.  Drew shakes hands with Ferguson and heads to the ring.  GM Max McGillicutty comes out and says that since the rest of the matches this evening were short, he’s giving this one a one hour time limit…just in case.  All four men beat the heck out of each other but try as he might, Drew could not get Chic one on one (he kept tagging out).  It was a good thing the time limit had been extended as this match needed it.  It finally got to a point where Chic Monroe got rid of El Chango and Drew got rid of Pecs and that left the two of them in the ring.  They proceeded to beat the hell out of each other and ended up taking out the ref in the process.  Drew then took Chic to the top turnbuckle and connected with a belly to back suplex.  Both men were down.  A second ref ran down and seeing Drew’s shoulders down, started to count.  At the same time, the original ref recovered and seeing Chic’s shoulder’s down, he too began to count.  Both ref’s counted to 3 at the same time.  Ref #1 awarded the match to Drew and Ref #2 awarded it to Chic.  There really doesn’t seem to be a clear cut winner here.  Max comes back out and says that these two will face each other one more time.  The winner of that match will be the one to challenge the Savior for his title.  All of a sudden, the Savior runs down and takes out both Chic and Drew.  The Savior then questions “What happens when there is no one left?”  He hands the mic off and then leaves.  (45 min)

Backstage, Clarkus Kentus is with the challenger Tobias Snake.  Clarkus asks Tobias if he has what it takes to become the next World Champion.  Tobias says that he and his brothers are tag specialists but tonight, he shows that he can also be a singles champion.

Elsewhere, Larry Morton is with the World Champion the Stache.  The Stache says that October is going to be huge for him as he has agreed to defend his title THREE times this month.  He knows it’s a lot but has confidence in his abilities.

It’s time for the main event.  First, the challenger Tobias Snake comes out and he is booed.  Next, the World Champion the Stache comes out and he gets a huge pop.   Tobias was not prepared for this match and that was apparent by the ASSKICKING the Stache brought forth.  Stache 100% owned this match.  The only time a threat came is after getting kicked out of the ring, Tobias came in and hit the Dirty Deeds DDT for a two count.  Tobias, thinking he could lock it up tried for the Dirty Deeds again but Stache instead hit a Tombstone piledriver.  He made the cover and pretty easily got the 1-2-3.  The Stache successfully defended his title.  All of a sudden, the Wraith runs down and attacks the Stache.  Tobias recovers enough to help him but then Texas Wildfire runs in and he and the Stache clean house.   The show ends with the Stache and Texas Wildfire standing tall while Tobias and the Wraith yell at them from the floor. (12 min)

The cameras stop rolling and GM Max McGillicutty comes back out and says that the fans tonight are electric and he has a treat just for them.  He says that Tobias and the Wraith will team up against the Stache and Texas Wildfire NOW…and it’s NO DQ!  Tobias tries to complain that he was just in a match but it fell on deaf ears.  The Stache hits the Wraith with the Lasso (clothesline) and Wraith hits a strikeout headbutt.  Wildfire asks to be tagged in and Stache obliges.  Wildfire locks in a standing armbar.  Wraith battles back and hits him with a chairshot to the head.  Wildfire hits a bionic elbow and tags out.  The Stache eye rakes the Wraith but Wraith connects with a slingshot suplex.  He goes for the pin but Stache kicks out.  Wraith tags to Tobias.  Stache catches him with the Sh*tkicker (dropkick) but Tobias nails a hook and ladder facebuster.  He goes for the pin but Stache kicks out at 2.  The Wraith is tagged back in but Stache catches him with the whiplash.  Wraith prevents him from tagging out.  Wraith hits another slingshot suplex but chooses not to go for the pin.  Stache locks Wraith in the Handlebar (camel clutch) but Wraith doesn’t submit.  Stache makes the tag to Wildfire.  Wildfire bounces Wraith’s head against the turnbuckle and Wraith hits a backhand chop (WOOOOOOO from the crowd).   This just kept on going with all 4 men taking turns beating the hell out of one another.  Stache gets back in and catches the Wraith with the Sh*tkicker but Tobias makes the save but is immediately escorted back out of the ring.  Stache locks the Wraith in the Handlebar again but instead of going for a submission, he turned it into a pin attempt and got the 1-2-3.  The Stache and Texas Wildfire get the win in this matchup which sends the fans home happy.

That’s all for now.  Stay tuned for more action.
