HWF/CSWA Wrestling Newsletter 2016 – #445

Hello fans and welcome back to our newsletter.  GM Max McGillicutty kicks off the show by announcing that today will be the tournament to see who goes on to the PPV to challenge King Damian Sandow for the “King” crown.  Max says that no one will be able to advance on a countout or DQ win so there will be winners in each level of the tourney.  Max leaves as pyro goes off and the show is ready to kick off.

Match 1:  The first match of the night is Zack Ryder taking on Dr. Red Fang.   Zack seemed really pumped up for this this match and took the match to the Dr. but no matter what he did, he could not keep Fang down for the 3 count. Ryder began to get frustrated and Fang capitalized on it.  Ryder went for the Flapjack but Fang neutralized it.  Ryder then went for the Broski Boot Running Facewash but Fang reversed it and nailed the Transylvania Piledriver.  Ryder was out.  Fang went for the cover and with his feet on the ropes, he got the 1-2-3.  Dr. Red Fang moves on in the tournament.  (19 min [Score Ryder 112, Fang 76])

Max comes out and congratulates Fang on his win but like the jerk he is, all he did was snarl at the GM.  Max shrugs it off.  He then says that, at the PPV, Bray Wyatt will be in the corner of his team the Desperados and Undertaker will be in the corner for the Forgotten.  He leaves so the next match can begin.

Match 2:  Prince Devitt vs Lucas Johnston.   Because these matches were no DQ, it was inevitable that someone would interfere.  This time, Dr. Red Fang ran down and blasted Lucas with a chair and the wrapped the chair around the ankle of Lucas and then stomped hard.  The ref gave Lucas a few moments to try to recover but he never did.  Devitt ended up locking Lucas in an ankle lock and Lucas, screaming in pain, had no choice but to tap out.  Dr. Red Fang caused Lucas to lose this one.  Prince Devitt moves on in the tournament.  (13 min [Johnston 57, Devitt 103])

Match #3:  The Axe vs Dolph Ziggler.  The Axe comes out first and introduces his “special” referee (‘Slow Count Sam’) and he is booed.  Ziggler comes out next and the fans pop for him.  Axe goes old school and just brawls with the pretty boy.  At one point, Ziggler almost gets counted out but barely makes it back in much to Axe’s chagrin.  The fans popped again for Dolph and he took the match to the Axe turning the tide in his favor.  All of a sudden, in from the crowd comes Dirk ‘the Pick’ Devon.  Devon nailed the Axe with the Pearl drum drop and Axe was hurting after that.  He managed to make it back into the ring finally and Dolph turned up the intensity.  After stunning the Axe with lots of dropkicks, Dolph connects with the Zig Zag (reverse bulldog) and he makes the cover and gets the 1-2-3.  Dolph Ziggler gets the win and moves on in the tournament.  On the outside of the ring, Dirk Devon smiles evilly before departing through the crowd.  (21 min)

Undertaker is back in the interview area and says that he is a man of few words as his actions speak for themselves.  He says that Bray will Rest in Peace and this will be an easy match for the Deadman.

The tournament continues with the final match of the first round.  Match #4:  CJ vs the Savior.  The Savior starts off by tossing CJ out of the ring after being on the receiving end of a superplex.  CJ is back in and nails a second one but Savior hits a package DDT for a 2 count.  Savior dazzles CJ with the Laying of the Hands and CJ stops that with a handstand headlock.  Savior nails a Holy Uppercut and CJ drops him with a dropkick.  The Savior hits two consecutive Brain Busters but CJ has the wherewithal to know where he is and reaches the safety of the ropes.  As the Savior goes to pull him back into the middle of the ring, CJ locks in a guillotine choke and the Savior, with nowhere else to go, taps out.  CJ gets the win and advances after this awesome (but short) 9 minute match.

Max comes back out and says that if Lucas is up to it, he will have 2 days to rehab his leg/ankle and he can have Fang in any type of match he wants at the PPV.

After a brief intermission, Match #5 begins:  Dr. Red Fang vs Prince Devitt.  This one went a bit longer than the last and saw Devitt and Fang trade control of the match numerous times.  Fang visited the outside of the ring a few times and Prince almost got caught staring at the lights while trying to kick out of pin attempts.  As we expected, Lucas Johnston hobbled down to the ring and stood just beyond the ring.  Dr. Red Fang saw him and snarled and hissed at him.  Devitt catches Fang with a midsection kick and Fang hits the Transylvania Piledriver.  He laughs at Lucas before making a sloppy cover.  Lucas runs over and puts Devitt’s foot on the ropes.  He yells to the ref to stop the count.  Fang is furious.  Devitt reverses a bodyslam attempt and nails one of his own.  He then hits Fang with the Prince’s Throne and makes the cover to barely get the win.  Prince Devitt is the winner and advances in the tournament.  Lucas grabs a chair and chases Fang from the ring.  He meets GM Max McGillicutty in the back and says he will take the match at the King of the Ring PPV and wants ECW Rules.  (20 min)

Match #6:  CJ vs Dolph Ziggler.  Dolph continues his dominance by hitting CJ right off the bat with a flying dropkick.  CJ struggled after that.  Dolph goes for 5 minutes without CJ putting up any offensive.  Finally, CJ connects with a superplex but Dolph traps him in a body scissors sleeper hold but CJ won’t quit.  Dolph hits multiple jumping elbow drops and then gets sent over the top rope by CJ who uses this time to regroup.  After the much needed break, CJ found his groove and took control.  CJ thought he had it locked up when he locked Dolph in a guillotine choke but Ziggler somehow made it to the ropes.  Both men ended up on the outside a few more times and finally, Ziggler, setting up for a top rope bulldog, gets tripped and he falls into the ring.  CJ sets him up and nails a dropkick.  He securely hooks the leg and miraculously gets the 1-2-3.  CJ is moving to the finals of the KotR tournament.  (14 min)

It is Bray’s turn in the interview area and he challenges Undertaker to put his in-ring career on the line if he is so sure he will win.  Bray says that he will even put up a title match for the Undisputed Heavyweight title if Undertaker agrees to the stipulation AND defeats him.  Bray says the buzzards will feast on the carcass that will be Undertaker’s career.

It is time for the final match of the tournament.  Match #7:   CJ vs Prince Devitt.  Even though CJ just got done with a battle against Ziggler, you couldn’t tell that by watching this match.  CJ seemed fresher (did he take something?) than Devitt appeared.  CJ controlled the match but Devitt would get in a few shots that almost took CJ out.  CJ hits Davitt with a dropkick but gets sent to the outside.  He rethinks his strategy and re-enters the ring. CJ immediately hits a bulldog and then sets up for the guillotine choke.  He locks it in and a weary Devitt taps.  HOLY CRAP!  CJ is the winner of the tournament and will go on to the PPV to take on King Damian Sandow for the “King” crown.  CJ celebrates with the fans before heading to the back exhausted.  (10 min)

The show is getting ready to end but out comes Bray Wyatt.  He calls out the Undertaker who also comes out to the ring.  Bray asks for an answer and Undertaker agrees.  Bray goes for a sneak attack but Taker chokeslams him.  He then nails a Tombstone Piledriver and stands over Bray as the show comes to an end.

Bray Wyatt vs the Undertaker.  If Taker wins the title, he will be granted a title shot at the Undisputed Championship.  If he loses, his in-ring career is over.

HWF/CSWA Wrestling Newsletter 2016 – #444

Hello fans and welcome back to our newsletter.  The PPV is only a week away and we are starting to get down to the final card.  Tonight, we have our final King of the Ring qualifier and the showdown between Undertaker and Kurt Angle to see who gets the shot at Triple Crown Champion Bray Wyatt at the PPV.  Without further ado, let’s get this party started.

The show kicks off with 3^rd generation wrestler Curtis Axel (son of Curt Hennig) making his way to the ring.  Axel is in the ring and then that all-annoying music hits and out comes Dr. Red Fang.  Fang sees a fan holding a sign that reads “You Suck!” and he takes it and tears it up.  He snarls at the fan before continuing on to the ring.  Fang attacks Axel before the bell can even ring.  Axel battled back and even controlled the match until Fang locked him in a spider web leglock.  Fang grabbed the ropes for leverage as Axel screamed in pain.  Eventually, it was too much to handle and Axel tapped out.  Dr. Red Fang gets the win via submission in 11 minutes.  After the match, Fang took to the mic.  “I answer no questions!  Yell at me and I’ll choke you out.   It’s a travesty that I, Dr. Red Fang, am not in the King of the Ring.  That simpleton CJ should never have beaten me.  I am demanding to be added in even if I have to take someone out.   Mark my words, I will be in that tournament or all will feel my wrath.”  Fang then left the ring.  (Editor’s note:  we didn’t’ think Fang had that much of a vocabulary.)

The Olympic hero Kurt Angle is in the back and he says he’s ready to take on the Undertaker.  Angle promises to walk away victorious.  It’s True; its DAMN true.

We head back to the ring for the ‘Big’ showdown.  Out first is 1/3 of the 6 man tag team champions Big E.  He gets into the ring and is acting all goofy.  Music hits “Welllllllllll, it’s the Bigggggggg Showwwwwwww” and out comes the tallest wrester in the HWF and CSWA.  He takes his time getting to the ring.  Big E tries early on to slam Show and he just laughs at him.  It didn’t matter what Big E did, Show just shrugged it off.  Finally, Show caught Big E in a bearhug and just before Big E passed out, Show dropped him and made the cover to get the 3 count.  Just as Show was being announced as the winner, New Day teammates Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods ran out and tried to attack Show.  Xavier ate a knockout punch and Kofi got a chokeslam for his efforts.  All 3 members of New Day tucked their tails between their legs and scampered off.

Undertaker is in the back with the Forgotten (Braun Stroman, Luke Harper & Erick Rowan).  Taker said that tonight he takes care of Angle while the Forgotten take on the Desperados.  After tonight, he will be next in line for the World title and after Taker delivers the last Tombstone, Bray and all the rest will Rest…in … Peace.

We go back to the ring for our next match.  First, out comes the Forgotten (Braun Stroman, Erick Rowan and Luke Harper) and they get into the ring.  Music hit and out comes their opponents the World Tag Team Champions The Desperados (El Chango & Leon Teremoto) and the Hardcore Champion The Stache.  Before they enter the ring, Stache gets on the mic and mocks the Forgotten calling them hicks.  Rowan chases the Stache and once in the ring, they all start to brawl.  The Desperados were much more cohesive and better timed their refreshes.  Leon gets tagged in and after a few minutes of beating down on Luke Harper, Harper, in a moment of desperation, hits Leon with a sitout powerbomb.  He tags out to Braun Stroman who traps Leon in a Liftarm Arm Triangle choke.  Harper takes out El Chango and Erick Rowan takes out the Stache.  Leon, with no one to save him, taps out.  The Forgotten secure a win.  It is short lived as El Chango rushes in with a chair and smashes all 3 of the Forgotten with it chasing them from the ring.  El Chango and the Stache help Leon up and the three of them leave the ring.  (19 min)

We cut the back with an interview with AJ Styles.  Styles says that Mark Henry interfered in his match and cost the X-Factor their match.  Tonight, he shows Henry that he picked a fight with the wrong guy.

It’s time for our final King of the Ring qualifier.  Varsity Club alum Jack Swagger comes out to the ring for his match.  His opponent tonight is the Fiend.  The Fiend gets a decent pop.  The Fiend holds his own but never gets an opportunity to go for a pin.  He stayed toe to toe with Swagger as long as he could but as time progressed, Swagger became more dominant.  Swagger got the Fiend trapped in the Patriot Lock but instead of going for the submission, he violently swung Fiend around and then dropped him and made the cover to get the pin.  Jack Swagger gets the win and is the final entrant into the King of the Ring Tournament.  (19 min).  The victory is interrupted by Dr. Red Fang.  Fang says that he can defeat Swagger.  Swagger says that if Fang can do that, he can have his spot in the King of the Ring tournament but he promises it won’t happen.  Their match will be up after a short break.

Samoa Joe is in the back and says that he’s been lost after losing the World title.  All that changes tonight when he takes on Eric Young.  His path back to the World title begins tonight.

We go back to the ring for the next match which has X-Factor member AJ Styles taking on Enforcer member and the World’s Strongest Man Mark Henry.  Henry was slow compared to the speed Styles put on.  Henry couldn’t even get his hands on him until he planted AJ with a powerslam.  Frustrated, Henry removes the corner turnbuckle exposing all the metal.  He then picked AJ up who wiggled out of it, rushed the ropes and nailed Henry with a dropkick that sent him into the corner hitting his head on the exposed metal.  Henry collapsed back in the ring and AJ made the quick cover and got the 1-2-3.  AJ Styles gets the win and leaves as Mark starts to come to.  (4 min)

GM Max McGillicutty says that Dr. Red Fang talks a lot of crap.  If he doesn’t make an impression, he very well could find himself in the unemployment line.

In a special challenge qualifying match, Dr. Red Fang vs Jack Swagger took place.  Swagger owned Fang at the beginning of the match but as time went on, he became more and more tired.  Fang was still relatively fresh and took the match to Swagger.  After dazzling Swagger with an Airplane Spin, Dr. Red Fang made the cover and with a blatant hook of the tights, he scores the pinfall and is the final entrant in the King of the Ring tournament.   Fang hissed and snarled at the crowd before leaving.  (21 min)

We cut to commotion in the back where The Forgotten attacked the Desperados backstage.  The shirts and suits came out and broke up the fight.  The Desperados challenged the Forgotten to a match at the PPV.

We are back at the ring where Eric Young is pacing and is not happy he didn’t get a proper entrance.  Enforcer member Samoa Joe comes out wearing a jacket with a hood over his face.  He immediately hits the ring and tears into EY.  Joe just plowed through EY and even though Eric tried, it wasn’t good enough.  Finally, one Muscle Buster later and EY is counting the lights in the rafters.  Samoa Joe is BACK and he’s on the path to recover his lost World title.  (11 min)

GM Max McGillicutty comes out and officially adds the Forgotten vs the Desperados to the PPV.  However, he wants it as a Lights Out Rules match. 

It’s time for our main event.  First, the lights go out and the eerie blue light shines the way to the ring.  The Undertaker strolls out and makes his way to ringside.  The lights come up and Kurt Angle’s music hits.  Angle heads to the ring.  Before the match can begin, Triple Crown Champion Bray Wyatt comes out.  Bray goes to sit at commentary with all 3 of his titles.  He doesn’t care who he fights next as both Angle and Undertaker will get future title shots; it’s only a matter of who loses first.  Angle leaves the ring and gets into Bray’s face.  He pie faces the champ and shoves him down after Bray tried to stand.  Kurt got in the ring as the bell rang and started to take the fight to the Undertaker.  After being thrown out of the ring, Undertaker came back in only to be tripped and put in the Angle Lock.  Taker wouldn’t tap.  Undertaker then threw Angle out of the ring by Bray Wyatt.  Bray snuck up on Kurt and nailed him with Sister Abigail.  Bray then snuck back over to commentary.  The ref never saw it.  The ref counted and finally hit 10 counting Kurt down and out.  The Undertaker will take on Bray Wyatt at King of the Ring.  Both men stare at each other as the show came to an end.

Stay tuned as there is only one more show before the PPV and BOY, is it going to be good.

HWF/CSWA Wrestling Newsletter 2016 – #443

Hello fans and welcome back to our newsletter.  The PPV is only 2 Sundays away and there is still lots going on.  GM Max McGillicutty comes out and says that the Steel Curtain will be in action tonight against a team whom he brought in for a “One Night Only” special.  He thinks the crowd will appreciate it.  In other action, there will be another King of the Ring qualifier and we’ll see Sonic Blade defend his Intercontinental Championship against Ethan Carter III.  Tonight, tag team action will kick off the show.  Max leaves.

A golden aura illuminates the ramp and the ring as the Dust Brothers – Goldust and Stardust make their way to the ring.  Their music and lights go off as their opponents come out to “Whaaaaasssapppppp!” and the Dudley Boys (D-Von and Bubba) make their way to the ring.  This was a relatively short match as the Dudleys immediately double teamed the brothers.  It wasn’t until 3 minutes in before Stardust got one shot off.  Bubba came in and yelled “D-VON…Get the Tables!”  D-Von went outside and set up a table.  He then tagged to Bubba to be the legal man.  He took Stardust out of the ring and powerbombed him through the table.  D-Von got back in the ring and the ref counted Stardust down and out.  The Dudley’s get the win.  Goldust went to fetch his brother and helped him to the back.  (4 min)

In the interview area, A-Team member Alberto Del Rio issues a challenge to Bobby Lashley for his spot in the World title lineup.  Lashley is a man of honor so it is expected he’ll accept.

Walking in through the back is AJ Styles.  Clarkus Kentus approaches him and says that the X-Factor are taking on the Shield tonight.  AJ says it doesn’t matter who they are, the Shield, the Enforcers, whomever, they will dismantle them all.  Enforcer member Mark Henry walks up and asks “so you think you can ‘dismantle’ me?”  He and AJ have a staredown before AJ just walks away.

The Steel Curtain (Buzz and Starbuck Steel) make their way out to a nice pop from the crowd.  New music hits and…hang on…we recognize this music.  Holy crap!  It’s the Mexicali Flyers (Tornado en Fuego & El Dragon Insano)!  They have returned “home” after being gone a year.  We then remember that they are only here for one night and the ovation they received was deafening.   After the crowd finally stared to calm down, the match began.  Both teams were evenly matched up and neither would give an inch.  At one point, Starbuck and Dragon were fighting on the outside of the ring.  El Dragon hopped up on the ring and dropkicked Starbuck.  Starbuck barely made it back in before the 10 count.  Both teams continued to battle (and lots of tagging in/out) and it wasn’t until Buzz caught Tornado en Fuego with the Buzzkill (Insuguri) that they got their win.  (14 min)  After the match, the Ascension hit the ring and tried to attack the Steel Curtain but SC and the Flyers teamed together and dispatched the Ascension.  The Flyers and Steel Curtain shook hands and celebrated in the ring before departing. 

As expected, Bobby Lashley did accept the match so that will be happening tonight.

The next match begins with the Canadians (The Savior and Drew, the Canadian Love Machine) make their way out to a pop from the crowd.  It gets cut off when US Champion Phat Sol and North American Champion Kevin Owens make their way out.  Phat has a mic and he says that the Canadians are invading the US and must be stopped.  Huh?  Whatever.  The champs head to the ring and the match begins.  The first 3 minutes of the match were rough for the Canadians but they eventually found their groove and started owning the champs.  At one point, the Savior and Kevin Owens were fighting on the outside of the ring and as the ref neared the 10 count it seemed that the match would end up in a double countout.  Phat came to his partners aid after dropping the Savior with a chair shot.  Drew, on the inside of the ring insisted Phat be disqualified but the ref didn’t see it as he was busy trying to send Drew back to his corner.  Kevin recovered enough to deliver an Apron bomb from the ring to the floor.  SPLAT!  Kevin stood over the Savior as the crowd booed loudly.  Just before the ref counted to 10, Kevin rolled back into the ring just in time.  Phat Sol and Kevin Owens win this one via countout.  Drew, not happy with the decision, attacked both men and drove them from the ring.   He then went to help his partner so seemed to be ok.  Drew scowled as he helped his partner to the back.  (6 ½ min)

In the back, the Undertaker issues a challenge to Kurt Angle for the #1 spot for the CSWA world title and that match should happen at the PPV.  We’ll wait to hear Angle’s response.

We head back to the ring for our next match, a King of the Ring qualifier with Zach Ryder taking on Kalisto.  Normally Kalisto would have been the favorite but Zach Ryder, tired of being left in the shadows, put his heart and soul into this match and it showed.  He totally dominated his challenger for the entire match and after dropping Kalisto with a swinging neckbreaker, he made the cover and got the win.  Ryder moves on in the King of the Ring tournament.  (13 min)

We go back to the interview area and Lucas Johnston calls out Dr. Red Fang and challenges him to a match at King of the Ring.  Fang walks over but a bunch of refs and shirts get in the middle.  Fang says “Yell at me again and I’ll choke you out!”  Johnston tells Fang to bring it and both almost come to blows but order is restored fairly quickly. 

Our next match begins with The Ascension w/ MJ making their way to the ring.  They are followed by their opponents from the A-Team Antonio Cesaro & Adrian Neville.  It also so happens that the Steel Curtain (Buzz and Starbuck Steel) come down and sit at ringside.  The Ascension are not happy about that.  And they showed their displeasure by taking it out on the A-Team and BOY, did they ever.  They tore through the A-Team like a hot knife through butter and even had time to jaw-jack with the Steel Curtain.  After things almost got physical, the Steel Curtain decided they’d had enough and they attacked the Ascension causing a DQ.  The Steel Curtain beat down on the Ascension while MJ trailed yelling obscenities at them.  The Ascension get the DQ win.  (22 min)

We go to the back and Alberto Del Rio sees the card line up and questions why he’s not in the main event.  GM Max McGillicutty tells him that IC Champ Sonic Blade gets that honor tonight.  Del Rio walks away shaking his head.        

We return to the action with 6 man tag team action.  The Shield vs the X-Factor for placement in the Tag Team top 10.  Right off the bat, all 3 men were in the ring and Enforcer member Mark Henry walks down and pulls AJ off the apron and he hits his head on the stairs and was out cold.   Henry then left (the ref apparently never saw anything).  This left Aries and Daniels on their own but they wouldn’t let Daniels in the ring.  The Shield kept Aries sequestered and Daniels got tired of waiting so he grabbed a chair on his own and he got disqualified.  The Shield then got beat by Daniels swinging the chair and he chased them from the ring.  Medics came out to take AJ to the back.  (4 ½ min)

In the interview area, IC Champ Sonic Blade says he’s ready for his title defense.  He knows that he needs to stay atop his game as the best in the business are gunning for him.

It’s time for our second to last match of the night.  A-Team leader Alberto Del Rio comes out first still mumbling that he should be in the main event.  His challenger Bobby Lashley comes out.  This match is for Bobby’s spot in the World title rankings.  Alberto tried for some cheap shots on Lashley but Bobby just didn’t allow it.  When he realized he wasn’t going to get ahead by cheating, he walked out of the match.  Bobby retains his spot for the World title by countout.  (5 min)

Kurt Angle is in the back and he has a reply for the Undertaker:  Yes, I’ll accept your challenge and I will be victorious.  It’s True, its DAMN True.”

Elsewhere in the back, CJ says that carrying the Hardcore title was in the plans however plans change and he is now putting all his focus and efforts into the King of the Ring tournament.  No excuses, new priorities.  The PornStache can have his fun in the sun…for now.

It’s time for our Main Event with the Intercontinental title on the line.  The Champ Sonic Blade defends the title against Ethan Carter III.  GM Max McGillicutty comes out and says that he’s not going to allow this one (like the last few matches) to end in a DQ or countout.  He wants to see a winner so he allows this match to be best of 3 falls with a 60 minute time limit.  The match was pretty even and after Ethan missed a clothesline, Sonic locked in a reverse cradle and got the 1-2-3 at the 11 minute mark.  The champ got the first fall.  ECIII comes back with a vengeance and takes the match to the champ.  Ethan stuns the champ with a belly to back suplex and with his feet on the ropes, secures the next fall at the 13 minute mark.   The champ battled back with intensity but ECIII took many shortcuts.  Ethan dropped the champ again with a belly to back suplex and then took a handful of tights and feet on the bottom rope, he got the 1-2-3.  Ethan Carter III has just become the NEW Intercontinental Champion.  Sonic Blade is beside himself.  He tried to point out the illegal maneuver to the ref but it fell on deaf ears.  GM Max comes back out and congratulates Ethan on his win and tells him that he will have to defend the belt in a rematch with Sonic Blade at King of the Ring.  Sonic smiles as he leaves the ring and Ethan is left in the ring throwing a tantrum as the show comes to an end.

Hello fans and welcome back to our newsletter.  In a quick recap from the last episode, New Day defeated the A-Team to become the new 6 man tag team champions.  Crazy that a bunch of goofballs could defeat 3 top caliber athletes such as the A-Team but they did.  Also, congratulations go out to the new Women’s Tag team champions Charlotte Flair and Sasha Banks of the 4 Horsewomen.  All champions need to be on alert as no one is safe when it comes to their titles.

The Elitist Champion the Wraith comes out and is booed.  Wraith says that he defeated Reid with ease and that is why he is here now as the champ and Reid is at home nursing his wounds.  Music hits and out comes Reid Rothchild.  Reid tells the Wraith that the belt he is currently holding doesn’t belong to him and Reid wants it back.  Wraith tells him “too bad, so sad, it’s mine now bitch!”  Reid climbs into the ring and gets into the Wraith’s face.  Wraith goes for a swing and misses but Reid doesn’t.  Reid peppers Wraith with lefts and rights and then drops him with the Reid Bottom.  Reid picks up the title and says he wants his rematch at the PPV and he will officially take his title back.  He drops it on the Wraith and then leaves.

We start off the action with our King of the Ring qualifier.   First, out comes Lucas Johnston who receives a pop from the crowd.  His challenger for the evening is “Black Machismo” Jay Lethal.  Lethal comes out dressed as the “Macho Man” and heads to the ring while “Pomp and Circumstance” plays over the speakers.  Johnston quite remarkably held his own against Lethal.  Neither man was able to go for the pin as each reversed the moves at each opportunity.  The end came after Lethal hit a hip toss and Lucas bounced to the ropes and caught Jay with a tornado DDT.  Johnston makes the cover and gets the 3 count.    Lucas Johnston gets the win and moves on in the King of the Ring tournament.  As he is celebrating his win, Dr. Red Fang rushes down and attacks Lucas viciously.  He drops Lucas with the Vampire Lunge and about 10 refs and other “shirts” hit the ring and stop him from doing any more damage.  Lucas recovers and tries to go after Fang.  The two scrap and claw at each other while the buffer in the ring keeps them from further altercation.  GM Max McGillicutty comes out and says that, depending on how well Lucas does in the King of the Ring tournament, a match between he and Fang will take place at the PPV.  Max gets both men to leave the ring so the show can continue.  (9 min for the match; 15 for the segment)

Triple Crown Champion Bray Wyatt says that tonight, one simpleton gets a shot at a title.  He says that he will grant the Miz a shot at the CSWA title tonight however the rules will be specialty.  He will reveal later what that will entail.  "You are the epitome of everything I loathe about this world, Miz. The limelight, the diamonds, the red carpet. How much is it going to take for you to satisfy this little craving, this obsession you have with fame? Here we are, Miz, together, tangled in this moment in the little spider's web, and I just want you to not be afraid, my child. I do not wish to see you suffer. I'm just gonna put you down. Follow the buzzards."

We head back to the ring for our first title match of the night.  First, the challenger D-Von Dudley heads down to the ring.  Next, the X-Division champion Tyler Breeze comes out.  Breeze takes his time getting to the ring but as soon as he enters, he is all business.  D-Von, a tag specialist, held his own for the first 6 minutes of the match but after that, the champ took over.  Breeze stunned Devon with his speed and power and Devon did his best not to get runover.  D-Von got enough going to nail the “Wasssaaap” headbutt then he pulled Tyler out of the ring.  He then set up a table and powerbombed Breeze through it.  To his credit, Breeze managed to make it back in before the 10 count to the amazement of D-Von.  Breeze would battle back only to be stopped by a trash can lid to the face (not sure why the ref didn’t DQ him).  D-Von went for the Dudley Death Drop but Tyler reversed it and dropped D-Von with the Implant DDT.  He hooked the leg and got the 3 count.  Tyler Breeze retains his title. (17 min)

In the interview area, the Hardcore Champion the Stache says that tonight he defends the title against a schmuck.  Stache says it doesn’t matter who it is, they will fall to HIS might. 

We go back to the ring where North American Champion Kevin Owens is and he says that no one in the Top 10 is deserving of a title match so all someone tonight gets is a non-title shot.  Out comes the Savior to accept the challenge. The Savior immediately takes control of the match and Owens was under-prepared.  The Savior schooled the champ and it only took the Laying of the Hands and a vertical standing suplex to put Owens down for the 3 count.   The Savior got the win and then was joined in the ring by his tag team partner Drew, the Canadian Love Machine.  Drew mentions that he beat Phat Sol, the US Champion where the Savior is in the Top 10 but the Savior just defeated the North American champion where Drew resides in the Top 10.  Drew says that the two of them should change and then re-challenge for the respective titles and see who can win what.  The Savior agrees and the two will make the switch.  Drew is now in the US title hunt and the Savior is now in the North American title hunt.  (14 min for the match; 20 min for the segment)

Backstage, the Miz says that Bray Wyatt has no idea what he’s talking about and it doesn’t matter what rules or match type Bray wants, Miz will win the World title and take it to Hollywood or wherever he wants to.

We have women’s action tonight with Jupiter Jane taking on Taylor Bella (w/Madame Jade in her corner).  Jane immediately throws Madame Jade into the steel ringpost knocking her out.  She then pulled Taylor out of the ring and repeatedly bodyslammed her on the exposed ramp.  Finally, Jane took Taylor to the ring and began to beat her down.  The bell finally rung but all the damage had been done.  It only took 6 minutes and getting trapped in the Tarantula from Jane and Taylor had no choice but to tap out.  Jane shakes her head and leaves.  (6 min)

In the back, North American Champion Kevin Owens is approached by the US Champion Phat Sol.  Phat says that the Canadians are running rough shot over the CSWA and it needs to stop.  He tells Kevin that the two of them should team up and take them on.  Kevin mulls it over and finally agrees.

It’s time for Hardcore Action.  The Champ the Stache makes his way out first (umm, usually the challenger is first) and he gets in the ring.  He says that tonight, his opponent is Varsity Club member Frankie Kazarian.  Frankie comes out but is not dressed.  Frankie says that something unexpected came up and he had to back out of the match with permission from GM Max McGillicutty.  Frankie said that he offered a name to take his place and Max OK’d it.  The Stache asks who it is.  Music hits and out comes…CJ.  Yep, the Hastag is back!  The Stache is livid.  CJ makes his way to the ring and is looking buff and cut.  He gets into the Stache’s face and the champ backs away.  CJ climbs each of the turnbuckles and pumps the fans up.  The Stache exits the ring and takes the match bell and rings it sounding the beginning of the match.  CJ looks annoyed.  Stache says that the rules tonight are Coleminer’s Glove rules.  The Stache points to a glove hanging above the ring.  The Stache immediately gouges the eyes of CJ blinding him and then blasts him with a miners helmet.  Stache then locks in the Handlebar (camel clutch).  CJ is weakened and as he struggles to get to his feet, the Stache blasts him with a coal shovel drawing blood.  CJ fell to his knees but wouldn’t drop.  Stache blasts him again and now CJ is on all fours.  He manages to get to his knees again and Stache hits him a third time.  CJ is down.  Staches climbs the turnbuckle and grabs the glove.  He puts it on and then picks up CJ and blasts him with it.  The Stache makes the cover and hooks the leg (and the trunks) and puts his feet on the ropes for extra leverage.  The count is made (pretty fast as a matter of fact) and the Stache retains the title (10 min).  Stache then hands something to the ref and the ref leaves quickly.  The Stache then says that he singlehandedly eliminated both the King of Kones and the Hashtag from any future Hardcore title shots.  He takes his belt and leaves.  CJ makes it to his feet and the fans pop for him.  He is helped to the back by medical personnel. 

Undertaker is in the back with the Forgotten and he tells Bray Wyatt and the Desperados not to forget that they are here.  All of them will meet up and chaos will ensue.

It is time for our main event.  Bray Wyatt defends the CSWA world title against the Miz.  The Miz comes out first and is booed.   Triple Crown Champion Bray Wyatt comes out and is accompanied by all 3 of the Desperados (Tag Champs El Chango and Leon Teremoto and the Hardcore champion the Stache).  All 3 stand proud with their leader.  Bray immediately goes on the offensive in this Falls count anywhere match.  Bray goes through the Miz like a hot knife through butter.  It also helped him that this was a No DQ match and the Desperados interfered where they could (score 144 to 48).  Bray nailed the Miz with Sister Abigail but instead of going for the pin, he locked in a rear chinlock (a wrestling hold!) and used that to pin the Miz.  Bray retains his title.  All of a sudden, the lights go out and when they come back on, all 3 Desperados are laid out and standing in the ring is the Undertaker and the Forgotten.  Bray quickly exits the ring before any attack can happen but he sees this for what it is…mind games…and they’re working.  Bray recovers the Desperados and all 4 of them leave while Undertaker and the Forgotten remain in the ring.  With that, the show comes to an end.

HWF/CSWA Wrestling Newsletter 2016 – #441

Hello fans and welcome back to our newsletter.  We want to congratulate Charlotte Flair and Sasha Banks on becoming the New Women’s tag team champions.  Southern Sky (Southern Belle & Velvet Sky) put up a strong showing and they are expected to be the #1 contenders for the belts. 

GM Max McGillicutty comes out and says that the King of the Ring qualifiers will continue tonight.  So far, Prince Devitt, the Axe and Dolph Ziggler have all advanced.  Tonight, The Savior will take on the Bulgarian Bully Alexander Rusev and Dr. Red Fang will take on a mystery opponent.  This doesn’t sit well with the Doctor and he charges out demanding to know who his opponent is.  Max replies “MYSTERY…what part of that don’t you understand!”  Fang gets all angry “Yell at me again and I’ll choke you out.”  Max orders Fang off the stage and tells him he’ll just have to wait to see.  Fang leaves in a huff.  Max continues with the 6 Man titles will be on the line tonight with the A-Team (Alberto Del Rio, Adrian Neville, Antonio Cesaro) defending their belts against New Day.   With that, pyro goes off and the show begins.

We cut to the back first with a pre-taped vignette from the Hardcore Champion the Stache.  Stache says that his two greatest nemesis Magnum Kone and CJ are done and he no longer has to defend his precious (my presssscioooussss) gold against them.  He is ready for all new comers.

Our first King of the Ring qualifier starts off with the Bulgarian Bully Alexander Rusev making his way down to the ring.  Rusev flips off the fans as he just doesn’t care about them.  Next, we hear “Salvation is at hand” and out comes the Savior and he saunters down to the ring. He high 5’s some of the fans but desperately tries to contain his composure.  Rusev attacks the Savior before he can even get his robe off.  Rusev beat down on the Savior for a whopping 13 minutes but then the tide turned and Savior started to beat the hell out of Rusev.  Rusev tried to run away but the Savior would not let him.  The longer the match continued, the stronger the Savior became.  Finally, after the “Laying of the Hands”, Savior plants Rusev with a powerbomb in the center of the ring.  He makes the cover and gets the 1-2-3.  The Savior gets the win and will go on to the King of the Ring tournament.  (28 min) 

In the back, the team of Madame Jade and Taylor Bella issue a challenge to Southern Sky for their spot.  They want the match tonight so hopefully they will accept.

We go back to the ring where the “King of Cones” Magnum Kone issues a challenge to Ethan Carter III for his spot for the IC title.  ECIII comes out and says he doesn’t have to accept but the GM comes out and Max tells him “Actually, yes, you have to. Now, get to that ring.”   Ethan was not happy and took out his frustrations on the King of Kones…pretty bad.  ECIII owned the entire match and the end came easily after ECIII hit the One Percenter for the 3 count.  ECIII retains his ranking spot.  (14 min)

We cut to the back where Southern Sky accept the match for later in the show.

We head back to the ring for non-title action as US Champion Phat Sol takes on Drew, the Canadian Love Machine.  Both men come out to a nice pop from the crowd and both even shake hands before the match begins.  After two minutes into the match, Drew went off like a firecracker and owned the match.  Phat tried to stay with him but Drew was just on fire in this match.  Drew went for 4 different pin attempts but to Phat’s credit, he kicked out each and every one of them.  Drew nails a corkscrew pescado and then followed it up with the Lover’s Bomb.  That did it.  Drew makes the cover and gets the 1-2-3.  Drew the Canadian Love Machine gets the win.  He helps Phat to his feet and they shake hands.  (16 min)

New Day (Big E, Xavier Woods & Kofi Kingston) are being interviewed and Kofi says that tonight will be a “new day” for New Day when they defeat the A-Team for the 6 man titles.  They dance around the room acting all goofy.

Next is our #1 contenders match for the Women’s Tag team titles.  First though, the champions Charlotte Flair and Sasha Banks come out and sit at commentary so they can scout the match.  Then Southern Sky (Southern Belle and Velvet Sky) come out.  They are then followed by Madame Jade & Taylor Bella.  Jade asks for the match to be extended to a 45 minute match instead of 30 to avoid the possibility of a time limit draw.  GM Max comes out and gives the nod.  The extra time wasn’t needed as Southern Sky was totally owning the match. Belle and Velvet were operating like a well-oiled machine.  However, after an appearance by the Beautiful People (Angelina Love and Madison Rayne), Southern Sky’s luck took a turn for the worse.  The Beautiful People end up attacking Velvet leaving Belle on her own.  After the distraction, Belle turned back to the ring and Madame Jade caught her with a springboard dropkick. Jade made the cover and got the 1-2-3.  Madame Jade and Taylor Bella just moved up in the tag team rankings.  Belle immediately went to the aid of her partner and together, they fought the Beautiful People to the back.  Before leaving the ring, Taylor issues a challenge to the Tag Team Champions for a match at the King of the Ring PPV.  Charlotte accepts on behalf of their team.  (26 min)

The A-Team are being interviewed and they call the New Day a joke.  They will easily dispatch them and retain.

We go back to the ring for our next King of the Ring qualifier.  Dr. Red Fang comes out first and he is just nasty with the fans.  He even went so far as to scare a little kid at ringside.  Fang gets in the ring and asks for his opponent to come down.  Familiar music hits and out comes…CJ.  CJ has returned and DAMN, is he buff.  I guess he was serious about hitting those weights.  CJ goes to the kid that Fang had scared and gives him his ball cap.  CJ gives the kid a hug (AWWWWWW) and then proceeds to the ring.  Fang tries to attack him but CJ was ready.  CJ goes right on the offensive and is looking great in his return.  Fang rolls out of the ring and threatens to bring in a chair but out runs Lucas Johnston who steals the chair from him.  Fang begins hissing and snarling at Lucas only to get peppered with lefts and rights from CJ and then nailed a german suplex.  CJ makes the cover (and Lucas holds down Fang’s leg) and the ref counts 1-2-3.  CJ wins in his first match back and celebrates with the fans while Fang rolls out of the ring and attacks Lucas Johnston and they fight all the way to the back.  CJ celebrates with the fans before leaving.  (15 min)

GM Max McGillicutty comes back out to hype up this weekends show.  He says that the Stache and Tyler Breeze will both be on hand to defend their respective titles along with some surprises he knows the fans well enjoy.  But enough of that, it is time for the main event.

New Day (Big E, Kofi & Xavier) comes out first and are running around like a bunch of goofballs.  The Champs the A-Team come out next and are booed.  Max says that they will be granted a 60 minute time limit – just in case.  And DAMN, was it needed.  The match goes a whopping 57 minutes and both teams looked strong in this match.  New Day actually cut out the goofy antics and got serious when the bell rang.  Both teams looked strong but the A-Team didn’t look like their normal selves.  New Day capitalized on it and actually injured both Del Rio and Neville in the bout.  Cesaro held his own until his teammates were able to recover.  Neville got injured at the hands of Big E a second time and medics had to come out and check him out.  The match was not stopped.  After a few minutes had passed, Adrian joined his team.  He broke up a pin attempt by Big E and then was immediately triple teamed.  New Day took out both Alberto and Cesaro and didn’t allow Neville to tag out again.  They owned the rest of the match and after 3 consecutive triple teaming, Xavier hits the “Lost in the Woods facebreaker” and smiled as the ref’s hand hit the mat for the 3^rd time.  New Day has just upset the A-Team and have become the NEW 6 MAN TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS!  Medical personnel had to help Adrian out of the ring while Del Rio took off on his own and Cesaro left with his head held low.  Balloons and streamers fell from the rafters as New Day stayed in the ring celebrating until the cameras stopped rolling.  (57 min).

Hello everyone and welcome back to our newsletter.  Tonight, we will crown new Women’s tag team champions.  Every female on the roster has picked a partner and they are ready and rearing to go.  This kicked off the show. 

The teams were all set up and drawing a first round bye were Women’s & Diva’s Champions Paige and Ravishing Raquel as well as the New Hart Foundation (Natalya & Tamina) and the Bella Twins (Nikki & Brea).

We take a break in the action with reporter Larry Morton making his way out to the ramp.  He still has a few bandages on but looks much better than he did the last time we saw him.  Larry says that what Dr. Red Fang did to him was inexcusable and expects that GM Max McGillicutty will do the right thing and penalize Fang or he will bring a lawsuit against the vicious bastard.  Lucas Johnston comes out and tells Larry that he will take on Fang for him and will teach him a lesson in pain and suffering.  Larry and Lucas shake hands and then leave the stage.

In the next match, Adam Rose took on Alexander Rusev.  Rusev was beating Rose from pillar to post but Rose hit an E-lemonator spinebuster and then trapped him in a Boston Crab.  Adam quickly turned it into a pin and scores the win in 12 minutes.  As Adam is celebrating his win, Rusev gets up and drops Rose with a jumping side kick.  Rusev continued to beat down on Rose until Abyss came out for the save chasing Rusev from the ring. (15 min for the segment)

In the back, the Axe is being interviewed by Larry Morton and he tells Larry that he gets his hands on Dirk in one on one action.  Axe says that tonight, he takes his frustrations out on the Pick.

We go back to the ring for our next King of the Ring qualifier:  Dolph Ziggler vs Goldust.   Ziggler catches Goldust in a leg scissors sleeperhold and Goldust taps out in 3 min.  Ziggler moves on.

In the back, Alexander Rusev says that Abyss stuck his nose into business that wasn’t his and says that once he puts his name on the contract, he’ll teach Abyss what’s what.

Next is our next King of the Ring Qualifier:  The Axe vs the Pick.  Dirk Devon comes out first to boos from the crowd and he flips them off.  Axe comes out next and charges the ring.  Dirk bails and refuses to get in the ring.  Finally, he gets in (after telling the ref numerous times to push Axe to the other side of the ring) and the bell rings.  Axe starts off by stunning Dirk with a hell of an uppercut and then throws Dirk from the ring.  He then rams Dirk into all 4 steel posts.  Dirk never recovered from that.  After beating Dirk down for over 20 minutes, Axe nearly decapitates Dirk with the Axe.  Axe sets Dirk up and almost dislocates his jaw with a vicious uppercut. Axe gets the win in 25 min and moves on in the King of the Ring tourney.

Women’s Tag Team Championship Finals

It is time for our main event.  Two of the Four Horsewomen (Charlotte & Sasha) took on Southern Sky in a battle that alone went to a 29 minute fight even after all they went through to get to this round.  Both teams were pretty even until Beautiful People members Angelina Love and Madison Rayne came out and causes a distraction which caused Velvet Sky to get caught in the Charlotte’s Web rollup and had her shoulders to the mat for one second too long.  Charlotte Flair and Sasha Banks are the NEW WOMEN’s Tag Team Champions.  4 Horsewomen teammates Bayley and Becky Lynch comes out and congratulate them.  GM Max McGillicutty comes out and awards the two women their new championships.  The 4 celebrate with the fans briefly before heading to the back.  (29 min)

HWF/CSWA Wrestling Newsletter 2016 #439

Hello fans and welcome back to our newsletter.  GM Max McGillicutty starts off the show thanking the fans for supporting them.  He says that 16 names have been chosen at random and those will be entered as King of the Ring qualifiers.  The final 8 will fight the show before the PPV with the winner taking on King Damian Sandow for the crown.  Sandow has yet to “defend” his crown ever since he took it from Jerry “the King” Lawler years ago.  Now, his Lordship needs to be on the top of his game.  Max leaves as the pyro goes off and our show begins.

The first match of the night has Southern Sky (Southern Belle and Velvet Sky) taking on the New Hart Foundation (Natalya Neidhart and Tamina Snuka).  This was a very close match and all 4 put out 100%.  Neither team could secure the 3 count and the longer it went on, the more likely it seemed that no one was going to give up.  The match ends up going to a 30 minute time limit draw.  After the match, the Beautiful People (Angelina Love and Madison Rayne) hit the ring trying to sneak attack Southern Sky but Belle and Sky were on it and immediately sent them flying out of the ring.  Congratulations to both teams for a very hard fought match.  (30 min)

While walking around in the back, Paige meets up with Ravishing Raquel and acknowledges that they don’t get along but they are the top 2 women in this industry.  They should consider teaming up for the upcoming Women’s tag team tournament.  She asks Raquel to consider how dominant they would be not only as the Singles Champions but the Tag Team as well.  Raquel agrees and they shake on it.

The Elitist Champion Reid Rothchild makes his way to the ring.  He says that the top 10 hasn’t been finalized yet for his belt but he wants to defend it tonight.  Before he could say anything else, the Wraith (formerly known as the Nigerian Wraith) makes his way to the ring and accepts the match.  Reid wasn’t expecting it.  The Wraith immediately went on the offensive but the Elitist nipped that fairly quickly.  The champ stunned the Wraith numerous times with Reid Bottoms and the Rothchild Stunner but the Wraith wouldn’t stay down.  The Wraith nailed a slingshot suplex but was too tired to make the cover.  By the time he finally did, Reid was able to kick right out.   Reid took the Wraith to the corner and started laying in the chops.  The Wraith reversed and gouged the eyes of Reid blinding him.  The Wraith then rolled Reid up and grabbed the ropes for leverage.  The ref counted 1…2…3.  The Wraith has just defeated Reid Rothchild to become the NEW Elitist Champion!!!  The Wraith allowed for his arm to be raised and then he left while Reid questioned what just transpired.  (25 min)

We’ve been asking but there has been nothing uncovered as to who attacked the Stache at the last show.  He did not need to be hospitalized but was furious at the lack of investigation into this dastardly deed.  We’ve heard through the grapevine he may hire his own investigators.

We go back to the ring for our first qualifying match for the King of the Ring tournament.  First, out comes Prince Devitt.  He dashes towards the ring and he gets a good pop from the crowd.  The music is cut off and over the speakers blares “I’ve got some bad news….” Out comes ‘Bad News’ Wade Barrett and he struts down to the ring.  Barrett goes on the offensive but Devitt dazzles him with his speed.  Devitt kept Barrett on the defensive and the crowd popped every time he flew off the ropes.  Barrett finally felt that he had enough and after hitting a low blow, went to the top rope.  Devitt recovered quickly and bodyslammed Barrett from the top rope.  He hooked the leg and got the 3 count.  Prince Devitt gets the win and moves on to the KotR tournament.  (13 min)

Clarkus Kentus is in the back and says that Larry Morton is expected to be back to work very soon.  At this time he introduces the Band – The Axe and Dirk ‘the Pick’ Devon.  Tonight, the Band gets a shot at the World Tag Team Titles held by the Desperados.  Axe says that he and Dirk are on the same page and tonight, they become the new champs.  Dirk says they have never been more ready for anything and tonight, history will be made.  They walk off.

Our next match begins with the Steel Curtain (Buzz and Starbuck) making their way to the ring to a huge pop.  Their opponents tonight are Rockstar Spud and Ethan Carter III.  The Ascension are not here tonight to interfere in this match.  Before the match could begin, Ethan blasts Buzz with numerous chair shots.  Buzz starts off at a huge disadvantage.  As Buzz struggled in the ring, Starbuck is attacked by the Ascension who come through the crowd and nail the Fall of Man on Starback on the Spanish Announce table.  Starbuck is out.  The Ascension take off through the crowd and the fans are pissed.  Some even get into Viktor and Konnor’s faces.  Back in the ring, Spud and ECIII take their time dismantling Buzz.  Buzz is practically out on his feet.  Ethan props Buzz up in the corner and Spud holds him in place.  ECIII then nails a flying dropkick onto Buzz who then collapses in the ring.  ECIII makes the cover and gets the 1-2-3.  Spud and Ethan celebrate while medics come out to check on Buzz and Starbuck.  Both end up being helped to the back by medical.  (11 min)

The King of Cones Magnum Kone is in the back and issues a challenge to Desperado member Leon Teremoto for his ranking for the Intercontinental title.   Leon has to accept.  Leon has to pull double duty tonight.

We go back to the ring for our tag team title match.  First, the Band (Axe and Dirk) come out and are heavily booed.  The Champs the Desperados come out next and the fans show their displeasure just as equally.  Pick and the Axe controlled the match for the first 7 minutes but after 2 minutes of double teaming, the Band started to stink.  Even the constant tagging in and out didn’t help them.  Leon and El Chango looked just as fresh at the 15 minute mark as they did when they first started.   El Chango did a lot of the work but Leon’s contributions were equally as powerful.  Leon runs across the ring and blasts the Axe with a forearm smash that sends him crashing to the floor.  El Chango then catches Dirk with a sunset flip and with a pull of the tights, gets the 1-2-3.  The Desperados are victorious in their title defense.  Dirk gets up and is pissed off and is looking around for the Axe.  He goes to the outside of the ring and starts to holler at Axe.  Axe gets to his feet and then BLASTS Dirk with ‘the Axe’.  Dirk is down.  The Axe snorts in disgust and then leaves his (now former) partner laying on the ground.   Dirk eventually gets up and makes his way to the back.  (16 min)

Triple Crown Champion Bray Wyatt says that he needs loosen up in the ring and tonight, he’s going to offer an HWF title shot to R-Truth.  This may be Truth’s one and only shot at singles gold.

R-Truth makes his way to the ring to a pop from the crowd.  He is then followed out by HWF World Champion (and Triple Crown) Bray Wyatt.  Wyatt is sporting all 3 of his championships.   For about 6 minutes, Truth holds his own but after that, Wyatt turned up the heat and Truth couldn’t handle the heat.  Bray blasted Truth with all sorts of dazzling maneuvers that Truth just couldn’t recover from.  Bray ends up hitting 2 consecutive “Sister Abigail” moves and then hammered on the back of Truth to prevent him from getting up.  Bray made the cover and got the easy 3 count.  Bray is successful in his title defense.  (19 min)

It is time for our main event.  Desperado member Leon Teremoto comes out first and by the looks of it, he seems fresh and ready to go.  Next, the King of Cones Magnum Kone comes out and powerwalks to the ring.  GM Max McGillicutty comes out and says that if Leon loses this match, he will be moved to the X-Division line up and Magnum moves to the IC lineup.  Max then says he wants to add a prize to this contest.  Whomever wins the match will also be inserted into the King of the Ring tournament.   Leon goes right on the offensive with a spinebuster and then turns to gloat to the fans.  Magnum gets right up and then hurls Leon over the top rope.  He follows him out there and after throwing him into the ringpost and the stairs, he rolled back in to break the count and then rolled back out.  Magnum then hits Leon with the Popsicle (piledriver) on the floor.  Magnum then rolls back in and allows the ref to continue the count.  The ref stops his count to admonish Magnum but Kone just tells the ref to count.  The ref counts to 10 and counts Leon down and out.   Magnum Kone moves over to the Intercontinental Championship top 10 and is now entered into the King of the Ring tournament.  Magnum stands in the ring with his arms raised as the show comes to an end.

HWF/CSWA Wrestling Newsletter 2016 – #438

Hello fans and welcome back to our newsletter.  Just like last week, Max doesn’t kick off the show and after the pyro finishes, Diva Natalya makes her way out to the ring.  She says that the women are flocking together as there is strength in numbers and she won’t be left out.  She introduces her new tag team partner and the latest member to the HWF/CSWA family – Tamina Snuka.  Tamina makes her way out to the ring and says she’s ecstatic to be teaming with a 3^rd generation wrestler – the granddaughter of the late great Stu Hart.  Natalya says that she’s happy to be teaming with the daughter of the ‘Superfly’ Jimmy Snuka.  They say that they will be known as the NEW Hart Foundation and have their sights set on the Women’s tag team titles.  Before they can leave, they are interrupted by Nikki and Brea – the Bella twins.  They say that they are the team to beat as they have tag team wrestling down to a science.  If Natalya and Tamina want a match, there is no time better than the present.  Tamina agrees and it looks like we have our first match of the night.

All we can say is that the New Hart Foundation was destroying the Bellas but because they look similar, they took advantage of switching out just before the other would get pinned.  They did this so often that they were constantly on the defensive rather than the offensive.  Before we knew it, the bell rang bringing this one to a 30 minute draw.  Both teams wanted to continue but the ref separated them and sent them all to the back.

In the interview area, Southern Belle says she’s here to explain why she came to Velvet’s aid.  Belle says that Velvet explained early on that she thought things were going sour but didn’t know when and who was going to be made the scapegoat.  Velvet says she reached out to Belle, a former member of the Beautiful People and said that she would request her help.  Belle at first declined thinking it was a trap or swerve of some sort but after watching Velvet get the crap kicked out of her by her (former) teammates, Belle said she couldn’t stand by any longer and had to act.  Velvet, standing next to her, says she is thankful Belle did the right thing and said that she wants to team up and enter the Women’s tag team tournament as a team.   Belle agrees and says they will be known as Southern Sky. 

We go back to the ring for our next match and Adam Rose is already in the ring.  Music hits and, uh oh, out comes Dr. Red Fang.  Fang powerwalks to the ring and immediately attacks Rose.  The bell is quickly rung to get this one started.  Adam Rose fairs a bit better and stays in control for the majority of the match.  Fang, however, must have been holding back because out of nowhere, he went all vicious on Rose.  Fang would repeatedly attack the leg of Rose and even smacked it into the ringpost a few times.  After the 20 minutes mark, Rose could barely stand on it anymore.  Fang then locked in a Spiderweb leglock and after Rose screamed in pain (and called for his Attitude Adjustment partner Abyss who wasn’t there), he tapped out.  Dr. Red Fang got his second win.  Fang started to go after Rose again but out ran Lucas Johnston who, armed with a chair, chased Fang from the ring saving Adam from further attack.  Fang backed up the ramp and cursed and hissed his way to the back.  (24 min)

Back in GM Max McGillicutty’s office, he has with him the Canadians (Drew and the Savior), New Day (Big E and Xavier Woods) and the Band (Dirk Devon and the Axe).  Although New Day won the placement for the top 10, the Canadians were not happy that they didn’t participate and the Band said that due to outside interference, they were eliminated too early.  Each team demands the next shot at the Desperados.  Max says he will compromise and put these 3 teams into a match against each other tonight and the winning team will get the next shot.  They all agreed to that.

North American Champion Kevin Owens makes his way to ringside.  He says he’s throwing out an open challenge to anyone in the NA top 10 for their shot tonight.  Goldust comes out and says he will take the match tonight.  Kevin just demolished Goldust and even though it looked like he took his time, he was never in any real jeopardy.  Kevin gets the 3 count after hitting Goldie with a package sidewalk slam in 17 min.

Undertaker is in the back and with him are the Forgotten (Erick Rowan, Luke Harper & Braun Stromann) and he says that his team needs to see some action tonight.  He’s heard that the Uso’s and Eric Young claim to not be afraid of them.  Tonight, after the dust has settled and EY and the Uso’s are on their backs counting the lights, they WILL be afraid.

We go back to the ring for our next match which is the 3 way fight for the next tag team title shot.  First, the Canadians make their way out.  They are followed by New Day and finally, the Band.  Both the Canadians and the Band teamed up and instantly eliminated New Day.  The Band then went to town and in a matter of minutes, eliminated the Canadians.  It looks like the Band – The Axe and Dirk ‘the Pick’ Devon will be getting the next title shot at the Desperados. (10 min)

In the back, A-Team members Adrian Neville and Antonio Cesaro say they are throwing out a challenge to the Ascension for their spot in the top 10 tag team rankings.  They know that the Ascension has to accept and say that not only are they the 6 man tag team champions, they will eventually become the World Tag team champs as well.

Elsewhere in the back, Magnum Kone is pacing and he says that finally, he is getting the rematch for the Hardcore title.  The Stache, the coward that he is, finally is giving him the match he desires.  Magnum says that if he does not win tonight, he will never fight for the Hardcore title again.

We go back to the ring and making their way out first are the Undertaker and the Forgotten.   Jimmy and Jey Uso and Eric Young make their way out but Undertaker directs them to attack before they can even get in the ring.  For the first 15 minutes of the match, the Forgotten were destroying everything in their path.  After a 3 minute triple team, the Uso’s and EY took over the control of the match and put the Forgotten on the defensive for the rest of the match.  Undertaker was not happy and just as Jey was going for a pin, Undertaker walks over and rings the bell.  He holds up a document saying that he can, at any time, for one match only, be a guest timekeeper.   Undertaker says the match has reached the time limit and tells the ref to call this one a draw.  The ref does and the Forgotten attack the Uso’s and EY once again beating them down.  Undertaker calls to them and they leave the ring.   (30 min draw according to the Undertaker)

Back in the interview area, the Stache says he’s finally going to take care of Magnum Kone and will never have to worry about him ever again.

We go back to the ring for our second to last match of the night with The Ascension being challenged by Neville & Cesaro from the A-Team for their spot.  The A-Team comes out first and then are followed by Konnor and Viktor.  Both teams went balls to the wall and beat the holy hell out of each other…any idea for how long?  30 minutes.  Yep, we got ourselves another time limit draw.  The Ascension retain their spot.

Max comes out to address the crowd.  He says that it’s been a long time since he’s seen this many time limit draws and said that he will make sure that our main event does not end that way.  Max says that there will be no time limit for the match and there will be a winner.  He announces the challenger first and out comes Magnum Kone – the King of Cones accompanied by his ‘lackeys’ Haagen and Daas.  They stay on the outside as Magnum climbs in.   Music hits and out comes the Hardcore Champion the Stache.  Stache is accompanied by the World tag team champions El Chango and Leon Teremoto.  The Desperados each take one side of the ring and Haagen and Daas take the others.  Max announces that the rules for tonight’s hardcore match will be a Lights Out rules match.  After about 3 minutes in, the challenger took the fight to the champ and the Stache struggled for the remainder of the match.  Both Desperados and Haagen and Daas got involved but due to this being a no DQ match, nothing could be done.  Towards the end of the match, Magnum just hit Stache with the popsicle and just as he was going for the pin, the Desperados jumped in with chairs and began beating Magnum down.  When Haagen and Daas tried to help, they took chairshots to the head for their efforts.  The Stache tells his team to leave the ring.  He circles Magnum and steps over and locks in the handlebar (camel clutch).  Magnum could not escape and ends up passing out.  The ref awards the match and the win to the Stache. 

Suddenly, the lights go out and 5 seconds later when they come on, the Stache is laid out in the ring but no one is there.  Max is on the ramp looking around for who it could be but there are no clues.  I guess we will have to wait to see if anything comes from this.

HWF/CSWA Wrestling Newsletter 2016 – #437

Hello fans and welcome back to our newsletter.  GM Max McGillicutty let us know beforehand that today’s show was going to be packed so instead of him wasting time talking, he was going to let the action speak for itself.

The show begins with a CSWA tournament to create placements for it’s top 10.  The superstars appeared on stage and the show began with 10 people starting and every few minutes, another 5 would be sent to the ring.  A very interesting piece of information was that newly moved member Kurt Angle was the #1 pick (Angle is no longer managing the Varsity Club) and he had a fantastic run.  The final three came down to Angle, Shield member Roman Reigns and X-Factor member Austin ‘the Man’ Aries.  Angle nails Aries with an Angle slam and then Reigns nails a superman punch sending Aries over the top rope and eliminating him.  Angle then hits a dropkick to the back of Reigns and he goes over the top and hits the floor.  Kurt Angle, the #1 entrant, becomes the #1 contender for the CSWA World title.  Angle is already making his presence known.   (40 min)

Max is in his office with the Enforcers – AJ Styles, Christopher Daniels and Samoa Joe.  Max tells them they are in action tonight but not as a team but individually.  They didn’t seem to mind.

Charlotte Flair makes her way to the ring but before she can start talking, the Beautiful People (Angelina Love, Madison Rayne and Velvet Sky make their way out and stand at ringside.  They ask Charlotte where her “backup” is and Charlotte says “right behind you”.  Making their way to the ring are Becky Lynch, Sasha Banks and Bayley.  Charlotte introduces them as the “New Four Horsewomen”.  The four of them are attacked by the Beautiful People but are quickly dispatched.   Charlotte challenges them to a match later and BP accept.  That will be our main event.

AJ Styles comes out for his match and he is taking on Seth Rollins from the Shield.  Seth started off strong but AJ took the match to him.  The longer it went on though, the more Rollins battled back.  Shield member Dean Ambrose made his way out but did not interfere.  It was enough to throw AJ off his game.  After stunning him with a mild curb stomp, Seth nails a Pedigree Facebuster.  Rollins hooks the leg (and the tights) and gets the 1-2-3.  Rollins raises his arms in victory and leaves with Ambrose.  (17 min)

Max says that two new women performers will be making their debut tonight.  In fact, they are up next.

Eva Marie makes her way to the ring.  Her opponent, Maria Kanellis makes her way to the ring.  Both women are new to the HWF and CSWA and this promises to be a top notch match.  Maria totally owned this match but try as she could, she couldn’t get the pin.  Eva Marie kept her chances alive with every kick out.  Finally, Maria throws Eva Marie into the corner and nails a Bronco Buster.  That was all she wrote for Eva.  Maria pulls her into the middle of the ring and makes the cover to get the win.  Maria celebrates to a mixed reaction from the fans and then leaves.  (23 min)

Magnum Kone calls out the Stache and says he wants his rematch.  Stache comes out and says that Magnum is just a loser and doesn’t deserve anything.  He gets to start back at the bottom and can work his way back up.  Max comes out and says that at the next show, Stache gets to defend his title against Magnum in a rematch.

The Steel Curtain (Buzz and Starbuck Steel) say it is time for them to earn a shot at the belts that were taken from them – the World Tag Team titles and tonight they take on the Varsity Club.  Starbuck tells Bo and Swagger to bring their A-Game.

Roman Reigns makes his way to the ring and is told that tonight he is taking on Samoa Joe.  Joe makes his way out and seems to be in a bit of a better mood.  Reigns starts off with a deadlift powerslam but Joe hurls Reigns out of the ring.  Dean Ambrose runs down with a chair and blasts Joe with it causing the DQ.  Joe then hurls Dean out of the ring and stands tall with the chair.  (30 seconds)

Max comes out and tells Dean to stay there as he is up next.  Max asks Joe to leave the ring and not to interfere even though he has every right.  Joe says he is the better man and leaves.  Dean’s opponent is Christopher Daniels.  Daniels stuns Ambrose with Death Valley driver and a double knee gutbuster.  Ambrose shakes it off and hurls Daniels out of the ring.  He then nails a suicide dive and he and Daniels crash hard into the ringside barrier.  Daniels looks to be out cold.  Ambrose took his time but eventually made it back in the ring just before the 10 count.  Dean Ambrose wins this one via countout in only 90 seconds.  Samoa Joe then ran down blasted Ambrose with a chair before he scampered away from the ring.  Joe and Daniels stood tall in the ring.

Roving reporter Clarkus Kentus lets us know that Larry Morton has been released from the hospital.  Clarkus says that Dr. Red Fang is insane and is a danger to those around him.  Who knows who his next victim will be.

The Varsity Club (Jack Swagger and Bo Dallas) make their way to the ring.  Music hits and out comes the Steel Curtain to the biggest pop of the night.  They high five the fans and they get into the ring.  All 4 men shook hands but before the bell could ring, the Ascension (Konnor and Viktor) hit the ring and destroy the Steel Curtain.  By the time the ref was able to get control, the damage was already done.  The bell rang and the Varsity Club definitely had an advantage over their opponents.  The Steel Curtain tried to hold their own but the damage done to them was just too great.  Jack Swagger nails Buzz with a gutwrench suplex and that takes all the air out of his lungs.  Starbuck is kicked off the ring by Bo Dallas.  Jack makes the cover and gets the pin.  The Varsity Club are victorious.  As they leave, the Ascension hit the ring again and demolish the Steel Curtain once again.  Viktor takes a mic.  “Ohhhhhhh what a rush.  Ha ha.  But you know, the LOD did have some great one liners.  The Steel Curtain are nothing but posers and like the pond scum they are, they got what was coming to them.”  Konnor takes the mic.  “Steel…more like plastic…or paper; they crumble and fall apart when REAL athletes show them what’s what.  Maybe we’ll leave them alone and let them nurse their wounds.  But soon, real soon, we’ll meet in the ring and then…” Viktor takes the mic “…You’re DONE! Haha”.  They then leave the ring as medics come out to check on Buzz and Starbuck.  (15 min for the match; 20 min for the segment)

Max says that he knows that the Steel Curtain will want revenge and makes the first match for our King of the Ring PPV – The Steel Curtain vs the Ascension.

Another quick tournament is held to help determine the top 10 for the tag team titles.  This one was done elimination style.  The champs, the Desperados, the Steel Curtain, the Canadians (the Savior and Drew the Canadian Love Machine) and the Varsity club were not in this one.  The Ascension dominated everything until a battered and bruised Steel Curtain came out and attacked and helped eliminate the Ascension.  They then chased them to the back swing chairs wildly.  The last remaining team getting the win was New Day members Xavier Woods and Big E.   (15 min) 

In the back, a bruised and battered Steel Curtain and the Canadians met with Max complaining about not being included in the tournament.  Max says the Steel Curtain were not up to the match (Starbuck did say that they were well enough to kick the Ascensions asses) and the Canadians just lucked out.  The Canadians ask for a shot at New Day’s opportunity and Max says it will happen at the next show.  He looks at the Steel Curtain and tells them to take some time off, recup and then come back. 

It is time for the main event.  The Beautiful People (Angelina Love, Velvet Sky and Madison Rayne) come out first but they point out it’s only the three of them.  That means Charlotte has to leave one of her friends behind.  Charlotte comes out with Bayley, Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch.  Sasha Banks agrees to sit this one out but will be at color commentary.  The Beautiful People immediately attack but the bell rings and the ref gets everything under control.  The Horsewomen take over and school the veterans.  Lots of tags from the Horsewomen kept the Beautiful People confused.  You could tell that Angelina and Madison were getting upset with Velvet taking such a beating that they had to keep rescuing her.  Velvet ended up succumbing to an Exploder Suplex from Becky Lynch.  The Horsewomen get the win.  They celebrate briefly and then leave.  Madison and Angelina get really pissy at Velvet and Angelina hits Velvet with the Lights Out.  They turn and leave her behind in the ring.  As Velvet struggles to get to her feet, an unlikely superstar comes out to help her.  Southern Belle makes her way to the ring and ends up helping her up and it seems like an uneasy alliance has just been created.  Belle helps Velvet to the back bringing this one to an end.
