HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2019 #801 – Phoenix Heat (10/09)

Hello fans and welcome back to another installment of HCW’s Phoenix Heat.  The show begins back in the office of GM Ruth Heartless.  Ruth says two title matches will be on the card today (the fans pop) but she says the fans don’t deserve it (they boo).  She concludes that at the PPV in just a few short weeks, Master Bull will be out of HCW forever and she will be the GM of the Phoenix brand (and who knows, maybe she’ll set her sights on Tacoma) and there is nothing anyone can do about it.

Pyro goes off and our show is ready to begin.  First, Master Bull comes out to a nice pop from the crowd.  He makes his way down to the ring and enters.  He shows off for the fans until the music changes and the lights go dim as Leon Teremoto makes his way out carrying his single lantern.  He is booed as he slowly walks to the ring, sets the lantern on the ring and then climbs in.  Leon goes right on the offensive but then Master Bull starts to make a comeback.  5 minutes in, Bull throws Leon out of the ring but then the Banker comes out of the crowd and enters the ring attacking Bull just as the ref counted to 10.  So, we are not exactly sure if Bull wins the match on a DQ or on a countout but it didn’t matter as Bull hurled the Banker over the top rope and then went after him brawling all the way to the back.  (5 ½ min)

We head backstage where we see the Anytime/Anywhere Champion ‘Sassy’ Maxine DeVito walking with Catalina Harper.  Tommy Lightning runs up from behind with a ref in tow and shoves Catalina into a closet and locks the door.  He then attacks Maxine shoving her into a wall.  He then rolls her up and gets the 3 count.  Tommy Lightning has just become the Anytime/Anywhere Champion.  He then runs off.  Maxine gets up and gives chase.

We head back to the ring for our next match.  First, the Crocodile Hunter comes out to a small pop from the crowd.  Once in the ring, the loudspeakers blare “VAMPIRE LUNGES FOR EVERYONE” and out comes the Hardcore Champion Dr. Red Fang with his manager the Ambassador.  The duo are booed as they head to the ring.  The match begins with Concession stand rules (they can take the fight into the concession stands).  Croc takes control early and stays one step ahead of the doctor.  After 9 minutes, the fight falls out of the ring and they take it to the concession stand.  Fang smashes Croc’s head into the concession stand but Croc locks on the ankle lock but Fang won’t tap.  A vicious eye gouge by Fang led to a Transylvania piledriver on the hard floor.  Fang makes the cover and gets the 3 count.  The fans boo as the ref raises Fang’s arm in victory.  Fang takes his title and starts to leave but Nix Anderson comes out of nowhere and attacks Fang and the two fight until Fang ends up taking off.  Nix follows.  (11 min)

Backstage, we see the new AA champion Tommy Lightning running through the parking garage with Maxine in her car giving chase.  Tommy tries to take a short cut but ends up running right into a wall knocking himself out.  ‘The King of Cones’ Magnum Kone just so happened to be there (with a ref).  He drops on Tommy with an Ice Cream splash making the cover and getting the 3 count.  Magnum Kone is the new Anytime/Anywhere Champion.  The fans pop as Magnum takes the title and walks backstage.

We make our way back to the ring for some 6 man tag action.  First, the Muscles Trio make their way out wearing their rainbow colored bull horns.  Absent this time are the boxes of Booty O’s cereal.  They head to the ring after some interaction with the fans.  The music then turned and out comes the 5th Column. Baron von Blood, Oswald Zimmerman and Karl Braun come out and they are holding the boxes of cereal and laugh at the trio.  They throw the boxes on the ground and then stomp on them sending cereal everywhere.  They head down to the ring where the trio are waiting and they are mad.  The match begins fairly quickly with the Trio dominating the whole match taking out their frustrations on their opponents.  Just before the 11 minute mark, the Huber Clan made their way out and attacked Karl and Oswald who were on the outside of the ring.  Baron was left in the ring and was dominated by the Muscles.  An exhausted Baron gets taken down by a flying headscissors.  Weasley makes the cover and gets the uncontested 3 count.  The trio leave with satisfaction and the Hubers add Baron to the pile of broken bodies.  They leave through the crowd.  The Column is helped to the back.  (11 min)

We cut backstage and there is an altercation going on.  The Axe has attacked Magnum Kone.  The two brawl until the Axe hits Magnum with the Axe.  Axe makes the cover and wins the Anytime/Anywhere title.  He smirks and walks away.

We head back to the ring and already there are Felicia Cummings and her opponent Leslie Grimes.   Felicia started off strong but eventually Leslie took over. Blast after blast put the Australian lass in control.  After 17 minutes, Leslie catches Felicia with an Australian uppercut and makes the cover getting the 3 count.  Leslie gets the win and celebrates with the fans.

More commotion backstage and the latest AA champion the Axe is confronted by the flannel wearing lumberjack Jack Lumber and the Masked Banana.  Axe tells them both to bring it but they just stand there.  Axe begins to yell at them but they don’t respond.  Just then, Jack grabs a steel chair and starts to beat the Axe with it softening him up.  Axe knocks the chair out of Jack’s hand and hurls him into the Masked Banana.  Maxine shows back up and drops the Axe with a DDT right on the chair.  She makes the cover, rolling him up (with a handful of tights) and gets the 3 count.  Maxine is once again (a 2 x) the Anytime/Anywhere Champion.  A car pulls up with Catalina Harper driving.  Maxine hops in and they drive off.

It’s time for our main event. First, Talon McFrost makes his way out first to booing from the crowd.  He flips off a few people and then gets into the ring.  Next, the music changes and the fans explode as TV Champion Drew the Canadian Love Machine makes his way out.  He interacts with the fans on his way to the ring.  He enters and climbs the turnbuckle holding his title high.  He hands the title over to the ref and the bell rings starting this one off.  Drew dominated the match getting a couple of near falls after connecting with a few corkscrew pescados.  At the 11 minute mark, Drew hits Talon with the Lover Bomb and makes the cover getting the 1-2-3.  Drew wins the match and is successful in his title defense.  Drew remains in the ring and interacts with the fans as the show comes to an end.

Thanks for reading.  Our next two shows will actually be back to back airing on Sunday and Monday due to the POTUS commandeering the air time.  Oh well…  Stay tuned.  More action to come.

HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2019 #800 – Tacoma Thunder (10/06) – Supershow

Hello fans and welcome to the 800th episode of HCW’s Wrestling Newsletter.  Tonight, we come to you live from the home of Thunder – Tacoma, WA.  Tonight has a solid line up with 3 title matches on the line:  Ladies Champion Hayley Hailstone vs Violet Valkyrie; World Champion Texas Wildfire takes on Wendell Hammerschmidt and the World Tag Team Champions Maximillian Redbeard and Supequake Ferguson take on the Steel Curtain.   Added to this all-star card, we will see the creator of the Lumber Lounge Jack Lumber take on the Axe in a steel cage.  This feud continues to heat up.  Let’s see if the cage rectifies anything.  El Chango takes on the Banker and in a Loser Leaves HCW match, Killa Pops takes on the Big Cocoon.  Let’s get you over to the action.

Pyro goes off and the Omegatron lights up with a flashing 800.  The fans pop huge for this monumental event.  We look towards the ring and the steel cage has finished being assembled.   Music hits and out comes the Axe comes out to huge boos from the crowd.  He makes his way to the ring and enters through the door.  He begins pacing.  Next, we hear Jack’s music play and out comes HCW’s own plaid flannel hero (and true conservationist) Jack Lumber.  The fans pop huge for Jack and he stops to interact with the fans in the Lumber Lounge first before continuing to the ring.  Jack acts like he’s going to scale the cage but the Axe keeps kicking at the cage wall to discourage it.  Jack finally enters through the door.  Once the door was closed, the bell rang starting this one off.   Jack begins by picking up the Axe and shoulder smashing him into the cage.  He goes for the quick pin but Axe kicks out.   Axe gets up and “accidentally” whips Jack into the ref knocking the ref out.  4 minutes later, the ref makes it back to his feet.  A couple of minutes later, Axe does the same thing and the ref is out cold again.  A pissed off Lumber grinded the Axe’s face into the cage drawing some blood.  Lumber hits a spear on the blinded Axe.  Jack tried to use the cage again but Axe reversed it and catapulted Jack into the cage wall.  He then rolled Jack up trying for a pin but Jack kicked out at 2.   Jack battles back hitting the TIMMMMBER and he went for a pin but only got a 2 count.  Axe dropped Jack hard and scaled to the top of the cage leaping off and hitting the B-52 kneedrop from the top of the cage.  The fans started a “HOLY S**T” chant.  Axe went for the pin after a brief delay but Jack somehow kicked out much to the fans delight.  After a couple more minutes, Axe locked Jack up in a bearhug but Jack wouldn’t quit.  Axe then lowered him to the mat and tried (unsuccessfully) for a pin.  After trading more blows back and forth, Axe hits the ropes and drops Lumber with a power punch.  He goes for the pin and (with his feet on the ropes) he gets the 3 count.  He begins to make his way to the door.  He begins to exit but Jack makes a lunge and grabs the Axe’s foot.  Axe swings himself out of the cage holding the wall and then grabs the door and SMASHES it into Jacks’ face.  Jack falls back into the ring and Axe drops to the floor.  Axe gets the win but he doesn’t seem to be done here.  He gets back in the ring and picks up Jack.  He then hurls him into the cage wall like a missile.  Jacks is bleeding now.  Axe continues the onslaught and finally drops Jack with 3 consecutive Axe’s.  Axe wipes off his hands and leaves.  Medics had to come out and take Jack to the back.  The cage was raised to make it easier for the medical team to get Jack out.  It seems the cage hasn’t settled anything between these two.  What will be next?  (21 min)

Backstage, we see all of the champions arriving.  The first car that pulled up let the Tag Team Champs out.  The second was Ladies Champion Hayley Hailstone.  The third was World Champion Texas Wildfire.

We head back to the ring and everything has been cleaned up.   Our next match is ready to get underway.  First, the Banker makes his way out to some massive booing from the Tacoma crowd.  Next, El Chango comes out to the opposite reaction from the fans.   El Chango enters the ring ready for action.  The match began strong with both competitors evenly matched.  A spinning heel kick from El Chango gave him the slight advantage.  At 8 minutes into the match, we see Col. Flagg sneak over the barrier.  The Banker then threw El Chango out of the ring and then distracted the referee.  Flagg attacked El Chango and then threw him twice into the steel steps.  He then bolted back through the crowd.  The ref began his count and by 9, it was apparent El Chango wasn’t going to make it back in so the ref counted to 10 and had no choice but to award the match to the Banker via countout.  The Banker exited the ring and rolled El Chango back in.  He then picked him up and looked like he was going to hit the Deposit diving DDT but music hit and out comes Master Bull armed with a steel chair.  He ran down to the ring and the Banker bolted before Bull could get his hands on him.  The Banker kept pointing to his head showing he outsmarted Bull but we’ll see who has the last laugh when these two meet at the PPV.  (8 ½ min)

We cut back to the back and we see Violet Valkyrie and the Steel Curtain walking in.  Wendell had arrived moments earlier and was too good to walk in with them.

In one of the interview areas, the Big Cocoon is being interviewed.  He tells Pops that tonight, the door closes on Pops’ career and unfortunately, there is nothing he can do about it.

Also backstage, Killa Pops is being interviewed.  He tells the fans that the last time he and Cocoon were in the ring, he showed mercy.  Tonight, there will be none as one of them will be out of HCW.  Killa says he didn’t work his way up only to be shown the door.

We head back out to the ring and the cameras pan the crowd.  It seems that there are quite a few fans of the Wicked Prophet in attendance as they are holding an abundance of signs.  One though that strikes as outstanding is one that has Prophet’s face pasted on top of an Ewok (Get it, Wicket the Ewok) body.  That one got a lot of people laughing.  That one person was subdued by Prophet’s real fans and they held up their signs in defiance.

For the Glory!

We are the FLOCK

The Big Cocoon comes out first to booing from the crowd.  He makes his way into the ring and gets ready for action.  Next we hear “Killa Pops is in da hoooooooooooouse” and Killa makes his way out to a nice pop from the fans.  He interacts with a few before heading to the ring.  It is announced that this grudge match will be no DQ as there must be a definitive winner.  This one was all Pops.  Cocoon didn’t get much of anything in the way of offense in.  In the 14 minutes this went on, Pops went for the pin 6 unsuccessful times.  Finally he decided not to do anything crazy but just slapped on a headlock.  He took Cocoon to the mat and much to everyone’s surprise, he rolled it over into a pin and got the 3 count.  Killa Pops gets the win and the Big Cocoon is out.   Killa Pops begins to celebrate his win until Apollo Gyze came out from under the ring and with a chair in hand, whacked Killa across the back multiple times until the chair was too mangled to use anymore.  Apollo then leaves as the fans boo the crap out of him.  Killa had to be helped to the back. (14 min for the match; 5 for the aftermath)

Back in the interview area, Violet Valkyrie says that she has to tip her hat to Hayley as she was the better woman…that night.  Tonight, she gets her belt back and will continue to be the dominant champion she has always been.

In a different interview area, Hayley is standing there shaking her head.  She says that Violet WAS the best and now she is.  Hayley gives a little attitude in saying tonight is it for Violet so she can fight someone new.

The Ladies title match is up next.  First, the stage fills with smoke and Violet comes rushing out like a bullet and slides into the ring.  The fans pop for the soccer mom.   Her fan time is cut short when Hayley’s music hits.  The Ladies champion comes out with a bit of a swagger and cockiness that champions exude.   She makes her way to the ring barely acknowledging the fans.  She gets in the ring and holds her title high but does not pander to the crowd.  She hands the title over to the ref and the match begins.  The match begins and Hayley dominates the first few minutes of the match.  After Violet caught Hayley with a jumping knee smash and a near fall did thing turn the way of the soccer mom.  Violet began to dominate and Hayley began to panic.  Hitting the What the Hail and only getting a 2 count added to Hayley’s frustrations.  At the 19 minute mark, Violet attempted to lock in the triangle choke but somehow Hayley made it to the ropes to break the hold.  Not one necessarily to play by (all) the rules, Violet dragged her back to the center of the ring and locked in the triangle choke again.  This time, Hayley was flailing around the ring and was seconds away from tapping out when the bell rang bringing this one to a time limit draw.  Violet was disappointed by the finish.  Hayley got to her feet and began pushing Violet (for not honoring the breaking of the hold when on the ropes).  Things began to get a little heated until Sassy Maxine DeVito and Catalina Harper. The two got in the ring and attacked Hayley and Violet.  Maxine uses a chair to knock both women down with Violet falling out of the ring.  She then grabbed a ladder and used it as a battering ram on the Ladies Champion.  Catalina puts Violet on a table and then goes to the edge of the ring apron and then JUMPS landing on Violet and crashing through the table.  Maxine and Catalina stand tall in the ring before leaving (20 min draw; 5 min for the aftermath)

Backstage, Apollo lambasts Cocoon for losing; following him to the door but never letting up.  On his way out, Cocoon grabs Apollo by the throat and shoves him against the wall and then leaves.  Apollo stands there rubbing his neck with a look of disdain on his face.

Backstage, World Champion Texas Wildfire is getting fired up for his match tonight.  He says he’s been a dominant champion but is looking forward to meeting Wicked Prophet in the ring.

Our World Title match is up next.  First, Wendell Hammerschmidt comes out to booing from the crowd.  He nonchalantly flips them all off and continues his way to the ring.  The music changes and the fans pop huge as the World Champion Texas Wildfire makes his way out.  He takes time to interact with the fans which led to Wendell impatiently tapping his foot on the mat waiting for his match to begin.  After TW was done, he got in the ring and handed his title over so the match could begin.  Another dominant match by the champ; he just outwrestled Wendell at every turn.  At the 15 minute mark, TW hits the Hangman’s Clothesline on Wendell and that was all she wrote.  TW gets the win with a slow 3 count (it didn’t matter) and he stands tall.  The Wicked Prophet runs in from the crowd and attacks TW hitting him with the Unrighteous Dominion.  Prophet picks up the World title and holds that and the US title high before dropping the World title on the champ.  Prophet takes a mic and exclaims “The Glory is mine. My Calling and Election will be made sure!”  He drops the mic and then leaves to boos from the crowd (except his little pod).

The Steel Curtain are backstage.  Buzz says that they had a great run as 6 Man tag champs but that is now over and they can concentrate on normal tag teaming.  Starbuck agrees with him and adds that it’s been awhile since they held the gold.  He is looking forward to the outcome of tonight’s match.  Buzz leans in and says “Word” and the two of them head out.

It is time for the main event.  First, the Steel Curtain – Buzz and Starbuck Steel – come out to a HUGE pop from the crowd.  They interact with a few fans and make their way into the ring.  Next, the World Tag Team Champions - Superquake Ferguson and Maximillian Redbeard come out to a less-than-stellar pop as the Curtain are the real favorites in this match.   That didn’t sit all that well with the champs so they opted not to interact when they walked to the ring.  The 4 men were cordial in the ring and all shook hands and went to their separate corners to await the beginning of the match.  The match was even through the first couple of minutes but then the Steel Curtain began to dominate with the frequent double teaming and constant tagging in and out.  As the match progressed, the champs began to run out of steam.  This allowed the Curtain to dig deeper and run with the match.  We now join at the 13 min mark.

HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2019 #799 – Phoenix Heat (10/02)

Hello fans and welcome back to another installment of HCW’s Phoenix Heat show.  The show kicks off backstage in the office of the GM Ruth Heartless.  She is with the Banker and he asks if the match is ready to go for the PPV.  She tells him that Master Bull will be representing himself in the match and will have Davis Hoffmeister in his corner.  The Banker says that Davis will only be in Bull’s corner if he makes it there.  Ruth snickers.  She asks the Banker if he’s ready for the Supershow in Tacoma on Sunday and says he can’t believe he’s relegated to wrestling El Chango but he’ll take one for the team.  Ruth says that the contract signing between Ladies Champion Hayley Hailstone and Violet Valkyrie is tonight.  The Banker rolls his eyes.

We go to the ring and pyro goes off and lights flash around the building.   Smasher #2 makes his way out first to booing from the crowd.  He gets into the ring and continues to taunt the fans until the music changes and out comes Master Bull.  Bull makes his way to the ring and enters.  Smasher #2 mocks Bull motioning that he’s going to break Bull.  Smasher #2 mauled Bull not allowing him to get in one offensive move at all.  At the 5 minute mark, Smasher #2 hit a backbreaker and went for a pin getting only a 2 count.  The Banker then made his way out and walked to the ring.  He grabbed a chair and for no good reason, he hits Bull with the chair resulting in a disqualification.  Master Bull gets the win much to the chagrin of the Banker,  The Banker looked like he was going to hit Bull with the chair again but Davis Hoffmeister came out for the save driving both the Banker and Smasher #2 from the ring.  He helped Bull up and once he was assured everything was ok, he left.  Bull interacted with the fans briefly before heading to the back himself.  (5 ½ min)

Backstage, Col. Flagg shows up and continues to mock El Chango.  He says he won’t get him back in the ring until the PPV but Flagg says that El Chango is a coward and will never amount to anything.  He knows El Chango is afraid of him and he will stay away until he’s forced to get in the ring with him.

We head back to the ring for our next match.  First, ‘Dark Storm’ Travis Ryzing makes his way out to a small pop from the crowd.  Next, the music changes and out comes the Snake Pit.  The three stand on the stage and do a fist bump.  Tobias Snake then makes his way down to the ring.  He goes right on the offensive but Dark Storm held him at bay until 2 consecutive Dirty Deeds DDT’s and two near falls (sloppy cover) turned things around for Tobias.  He kept the pressure on but Travis wouldn’t give up.  As we came into the final minute of the match, Travis gets caught with another Dirty Deeds and this time, Tobias makes a proper cover and hooks the leg to get the 1-2-3 with seconds to spare.  Tobias gets the win and makes his way to the back.  (20 min)

Backstage, Tempest Fortune is in the building.  She says she has had to travel to Phoenix to get some screen time but that is ok.  She makes a name for herself wherever she goes…sort of like Tom Brady does for the Patriots.  She says it’s only a matter of time she gets a title match and when she does, the landscape will look different with a new champion.

Next up on tonight’s matches, Muscles Thorpe comes out to a small pop from the crowd.  He is wearing his rainbow colored bull horns and is carrying his box of ‘Booty O’s’ cereal.    He gets into the ring after interacting briefly with the fans.  Next, the music changes and out comes Col. Samuel Flagg.  Flagg is booed heavily and he has some interesting words for fans at ringside who were the most vocal.  He sees an “El Chango” sign and grabs it tearing it to pieces.  He gets into the ring.  He attacks Thorpe early but the muscle man battles back.  Thorpe got a few shots in but then Flagg took back control.  About 18 minutes into the match, Flagg removes the top turnbuckle cover.  A moment later, he dropkicks Thorpe in the back sending him face first into the exposed bracket knocking him out.  Flagg drags him to the center of the ring and makes a lazy cover and gets the 3 count.  He leaves the ring and goes to grab a chair.  He enters the ring and threatens to hit Thorpe with it but then the music changed and out comes El Chango rushing down to the ring.  Flagg drops the chair and bails.  El Chango tried to get Flagg back in the ring but the colonel wouldn’t oblige.  Flagg backed up the ramp cursing at El Chango but the fans cheering drowned him out.  Flagg gets a win heading towards the PPV.  (19 min)

We cut backstage and the fans pop huge as Violet Valkyrie arrives in the building.  She is here for the contract signing for her match at the Supershow.

Back at the ring, The British Crippler makes her way out first to booing from the crowd.  Next, the music changes and out comes Tempest Fortune who gets a loud pop.   Tempest makes her way out and interacts with the fans.  She gets in the ring and thwarts an early attack attempt by the Crippler.  The match begins and Tempest is clearly in control with the fans solidly behind her.  This was another match that almost went the distance.  After dominating for 19 minutes, Tempest hits the R-Mac Attack and makes the cover to get the 3 count.  Tempest has another solid win under her belt and we are sure

Ladies Champion Hayley Hailstone arrives in the building.  The fans give her a huge pop.

We go back to the ring for the next match.  First, Bob ‘Powder’ Keg makes his way out to booing from the fans.  Once in the ring, the music changes and the fans almost blow the roof off for ‘The Hoff’ Davis Hoffmeister.  Davis comes out and stands on the stage soaking in the cheers from the fans.  He high fives a few on his way to the ring.  He gets into the ring and is ready for action.  The match went longer than expected with Bob giving Davis a real run for his money.  Bob thought he had things in the bag after putting Davis to the mat with an exploder suplex but Davis was quick to get on his feet and drop Bob with a clothesline.  He picks Bob up and hits a piledriver.  He makes the cover hooking the leg and gets the 1-2-3.  Davis gets the win in 16 minutes.  Just then, the Banker came in from the crowd and looked like he was going to attack Davis but the Hoff was ready and the Banker stopped short from entering the ring.  He smirked at Davis and then left without further interaction.  Davis celebrated with the fans briefly before heading to the back.  (16 min)

After a brief intermission where a table was being set up in the ring for our contract signing, things move forward.  First, GM Ruth Heartless comes out and is booed.  She gets in the ring and sits at the head of the table.  Next, the challenger Violet Valkyrie comes out and exits through pyro and smoke on the stage.  She makes her way to the ring and enters.  Ruth motions for her to sit.  Next, the Ladies Champion Hayley Hailstone comes out and the fans pop huge.  She makes her way down shaking hands with a few of the fans.  She enters the ring and sits opposite from Violet.  Ruth says that even though the match is taking place “in that miserable town of Tacoma” (the fans booed heavily), she was here for this auspicious moment.  The contract is handed to Violet who, after a brief look over, signs on the dotted line.  Next, the contract is given to Hayley who does the same.  The two women stand and stare at each other.  The moment is ruined when the Anytime/Anywhere champion ‘Sassy’ Maxine DeVito comes out with Catalina Harper in tow.  Maxine has a mic and says that Violet had her chance and lost and needs to move on.  All of a sudden, a ref appears from behind and so does Roderick Rothchild.  He knocks Maxine down but she is quick to her feet and after some cheap shots, she tried to run away.  Roderick was quick to follow as was Catalina.  After Roderick turned around a corner, Catalina caught him with a massive chair shot.  He dropped to the floor.  Maxine then appeared and went for the pin getting the 1-2-3.  Maxine is successful once again and she and Catalina bolt for the door.

It is time for our main event for the TV title.  First, the challenger, ½ of the World Tag Team Champions Maximillian Redbeard comes out first.  He gets a nice pop from the crowd.  Next, the fans are up and cheering loudly as TV Champion Drew the Canadian Love Machine comes out.   He makes his way to the ring and stands in the center of the ring looking up at the massive Redbeard.  The two shake hands and this one is underway.  Redbeard used his power to take the early advantage but the experience of the CLM kicked in and Drew was back in control.  A few times during the match, Drew went for the corkscrew pescado but it was nullified each time.  The next opening came when Redbeard went for a flying knee smash but missed.  Drew, with the fans cheering him on, went for and hit the corkscrew pescado.  He went for the pin and was able to get the 1-2-3.  Drew is successful in his title defense tonight.  Maximillian got to his feet and after venting some frustration, he shook hands with Drew and then left.  Drew then celebrated with the fans as the show comes to an end.

Thanks for reading.  The Supershow is up next.  Stay tuned.

HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2019 #798 – Tacoma Thunder (09/29)

Hello fans and welcome back to another installment of HCW’s Tacoma thunder.  Our supershow representing our 800th published episode will be one for the record books.  That show and the PPV that follows at the end of October – House of Horrors - are expected to blow the roof off.

Today’s show begins back in the office of GM Max McGillicutty.  Max is with the newest edition to his roster the Masked Banana.  He begins “You know, there is a guy on the roster – Ice Dagger – and he has that awful music ‘Ice Dagger Baby’ and we need something better.  I have a couple of options and for best song and I would like to use one of them as my music.”  Max asks to hear it.  “You got it” the Masked Banana says.

(To the music of the Batman TV series from the 60’s)

Nana nana nana na,  nana nana nana na…BANANA!

Nana nana nana na,  nana nana nana na…BANANA!

Nana nana nana na,  nana nana nana na…BANANA…BANANA…BANANA!

Max shakes his head.  “No”

“Ok,” MB says.  “How about this one?”

A drink of choice should be a fun one

And the boys they say pour me another

They all want one, they all have fun

So they all come over and drink one

Drink with me, sing with me

And if you’re good, I’ll by you another

Peach, Pomegranate, Lime Margarita

Green, orange, purple margarita

Salt, rocks, frozen margarita

Hey Margarita!

Max chuckles as he hears the fans pop.  “I think you’ve got a winner.  The fans sure seem to think so.”  The Masked Banana jumps up and says that Max won’t regret it and he’ll start using it right away.  He rushes out the door.

Our first match kicks things off in this non-title match.  First, the Big Cocoon comes out to a mixed reaction from the crowd.  He gets in the ring and awaits his opponent who is much more hated then he is.  We then hear the loudspeakers blare out “VAMPIRE LUNGES FOR EVERYBODY” and out comes the Hardcore Champion Dr. Red Fang and his manager the Ambassador.  The two make their way down to the ring amid the booing from the crowd.  Fang gets right in the ring and stands in front of Cocoon.  Cocoon dwarfs Fang and as soon as the bell rings, all hell breaks loose.  Cocoon got in a few shots early on but the constant interference from the Ambassador gave control of the pace and tempo to Fang.  Fang tried to hit Cocoon with everything in his arsenal but Cocoon wouldn’t stay down.  When we entered the final minute of the match, Cocoon was blatantly choking Fang out but then the evil vampire hit Cocoon with the Vampire Lunge but there was no time to go for a pin as the bell rang bringing this one to a draw finish. Fang leaves with the Ambassador first.  Just as the Big Cocoon was getting ready to leave, Killa Pops rushed in with a steel chair and hit Cocoon in the leg bringing the big man down to one knee.  Pops then held the chair high and looked to the fans who chanted “hit him” but Killa dropped the chair.  He got a mic and told Cocoon that he could have taken him out right here and now but he is saving it for the supershow where one of them will be leaving HCW for good.  Killa shows some mercy and leaves as the fans pop for him for (eventually) taking the high road.

Catalina Harper is backstage and walks by a table that has a bunch of chicken sandwiches on it.  She takes one and is immediately told (by a punk kid) that she is not allowed to have one.  She holds it up high and drops the sandwich.  When the guy rushed over to grab it before it hit the floor, Catalina turned grabbing the table and dumped all the contents on the table to the floor.  She smirked and walked off.  The punk kid was standing there holding one sandwich.  Oh boy, someone is going to be in trouble.

We head back to the ring for our next match.  Lavender Gooms makes her way out first to a mixed reaction from the crowd.  Next, Tempest Fortune makes her way out and the fans pop huge for her.  She interacts with the crowd as she makes her way down and into the ring.  Tempest owned the entire match even preventing Lavender from getting in one offense shot in the first 7 minutes of the match.  By then, there was no doubt who would be getting the win.  Tempest kept the pace up for an incredible 16 minutes and at that point, locked in an ankle lock but instead of going for the submission win, she turned it into a pin attempt and got the 1-2-3.  Tempest gets the win and since it was won in such dominating fashion, Lavender loses her spot in the top 10 and Tempest is back in.  (16 min)

In a backstage segment, we hear from the US Champion the Wicked Prophet: “I have some words for both of the GM of HCW – No more matches with fools! Pit me against a worthy opponent so my righteous flock can share glory once again…and stop calling me Wicket Prophet!”

Next up, we have a challenge issued for a spot in the top 10 lineup for the Hardcore title.  First, Nix Anderson, the challenger comes out strumming his ukulele.  He gets a mixed reaction from the crowd.  Once in the ring, his music is abruptly shut off and out comes 5th Column member Karl Braun.  Braun is booed as he makes his way down and into the ring.  Karl goes for the attack upon entering the ring but fails miserably as Nix takes him to school and dominates the match effectively ending it with a swinging neckbreaker.  Nix gets the win and moves up in the rankings.  He is that much closer to Fang and the Hardcore title.  (9 min)

Backstage, TNT is with the Tag Team Champions Superquake Ferguson and Maximillian Redbeard.  Tonight, they are challenging for the 6 Man titles held by Wilber Townsend and his Zombie recruits (Anthony Boom and Leon Teremoto).  TNT says that Wilber has been riding high on a wave of fear.  He and his teammates tonight do not fear them and will be taking those titles tonight.

The next match is ready to begin when the music play:

Peach, Pomegranate, Lime Margarita

Green, orange, purple margarita

    Salt, rocks, frozen margarita

    Hey Margarita!

The fans join in yelling “Hey Margarita” at the appropriate time.  The Masked Banana comes out to a nice pop from the crowd.  He interacts with the fans and makes his way into the ring asking for a mic.  “Whoooooey! What a bananas night it’s been so far! It’s just great to be here. The fans are incredible!  Hop into the banana boat, ya’ll!  What’s up with Maxine?  She’s great!  I was trying to introduce myself and she had some attitude – what a pro!  Hey, watch out for that peel!”

He is cut off when the Axe makes his way out stomping his way down to the ring.  The fans boo the cr@p out of him and he seems a little annoyed…not by the fans but by the group of fans wearing plaid sitting in the ‘Lumber Lounge’ with its founder Jack Lumber.  Axe sneered at him and continued on his way to the ring.  Axe went on the offense right off the bat but with each passing moment, the Masked Banana gained traction.  By 11 minutes in, the Masked Banana had taken control of the match.  At roughly the 18 minute mark, Jack made his way down towards the ring causing a distraction.  The Masked Banana capitalized on it and hit the Suddenly Bananas.  MB immediately went for the pin and with a solid hook of the leg, he got the 3 count.  The Masked Banana gets the win.  Axe is up pretty quick and grabs MB hurling him out of the ring to the hard floor.  Axe beckons for Lumber to get into the ring and Jack obliges.  The two trade blows until about 10 people from the back rushed out to break things up.  It is apparent that nothing is settled between these two.  Axe leaves first yelling that he is accepting Jack’s challenge at the Supershow.  Jack eventually leaves and heads back to the Lumber Lounge.

Tommy Lightning makes his way out and demands a mic.  He says that all of the champions in HCW are cowards for refusing to face him.  He says the biggest coward of them all is the Anytime/Anywhere Champion ‘Sassy’ Maxine DeVito.  Tommy says that she is a dirty player but he can go toe to toe with the best of them.  Since the AA title can be defended at any time, he is calling Maxine out now, not for some cheap backstage segment but a match in the ring.  Maxine comes out to a mixed reaction from the crowd with Catalina following.  The duo make their way to the ring and Maxine says she accepts the challenge.  The match begins with Tommy mocking Catalina from the outside.  This of course would catch up to him when on the outside, Catalina introduced Tommy into the steel post twice.  The match ended up going right to the final few seconds when Maxine hooked the leg and some tights and got the 3 count right before the bell rang.  Maxine has her first full match in the ring and is once again victorious (with the help of her bodyguard for sure).  Catalina gets in the ring and holds Maxine’s arm high.  They then leave.   Tommy gets laughed at for his poor performance and he storms off.  (20 min)

Backstage, it is dark except for light coming from 3 lanterns.  Wilber sticks his face in front of the camera (he is wearing his mask) but then removes it.  “Sometimes I wish that I could feel pain. But I am different. And we should all embrace our differences, right kids?  When I look inside myself, I see the good, I see the bad. I see everything. I see dreams you haven't dreamed, and worlds you haven't discovered. I see miracles. My mind is endless, and I am free.  Tonight, the buzzards feast.”  He turns and leaves with Anthony and Leon following.

It is time for our main event.  First, the challengers TNT and the Tag Team Champions Maximillian Redbeard and Superquake Ferguson come out to a pop from the crowd.  They interact with the fans and then enter the ring.  They don’t have long to wait as the lights go out and the 3 solitary lights rock slightly as they head to the ring carried by the 6 Man Tag Team Champions Wilber Townsend, Leon Teremoto and Anthony Boom.  The champs get into the ring and the lights come up showing all 3 men wearing their creepy masks.  Each man removes their mask and everything is set on the outside of the ring.  The match starts off with TNT squaring off against his uncle Wilber.  The Six Man champs dominated until Maximillian made the hot tag.  During a double team on Leon, Anthony and Wilber went after Superquake and put him through a table at ringside taking him out of the rest of the match.  Back in the ring, the champs continued to dominate but then noticed time was running out.   Leon hits Maximillian with a splash in the corner and tries for a quick pin but Redbeard powers out.  Redbeard then dazed Leon with a flying knee smash.  Leon shook it off and after reversing a hip toss attempt, powerbombed Redbeard in the middle of the ring.  He took too long to make the cover as by the count of 2, the bell rang bringing this one to a draw conclusion.  The champions retain on a time limit draw but TNT was not done and tried to take more out of Wilber’s hide but Anthony and Leon dropped him with a double powerbomb.  The champs stood tall in the ring as the fans booed and the show comes to an end.

Thanks for reading.  Lots of stuff happening so stay tuned.
