HWF/CSWA Wrestling Newsletter 2016 – #449

Hello fans and welcome back to our newsletter.  Last episode we saw Diva’s Champion Paige send Awesome Kong into retirement.  After the beating she took, it was a wonder she pulled it off.  However, there is no rest for the weary.  GM Max McGillicutty has stated that the champions have been a bit lax in defending their titles as required every 30 days.  Max says that going forward, each and every show will have a minimum of one title match per show.  This announcement is well received from the fans.  Max says that tonight, he wants to hold a “Money in the Bank contract” battle royal where one lucky person will get a title shot of their choice.  The stipulation will be that anyone currently holding ANY title (including the title of ‘King’) will be exempt from this match (King CJ already has a guaranteed shot).  Max says that the Battle Royal will kick off the show tonight.

We head over to the ring where the wrestlers are filing down.  There will be an HWF Battle Royal first followed by a CSWA one.  This means less people in the ring and can actually move around.  The person with by far the best outing was former Intercontinental Champion Sonic Blade as he made it to the final 3.   However, he was no match for the power of the Ascension as Konnor and Viktor made it through to the end.

The match ends after their manager MJ said that the Ascension, united they are, will take the MitB contract for the Tag Team titles against the Desperados.  MJ says that in two weeks, his team is taking on the champs and after the dust settles, the Ascension will once again be the World Tag Team Champions. 

Now, it is time for the CSWA’s Battle Royal Tournament.

Just before the match could even start, Lucas Johnston and Dr. Red Fang were out first and both went to grab chairs.  At the same time, they blasted each other with it knocking each other out.  They remained on the outside of the ring…unnoticed.

Lucas Johnston recovered and was back in the ring.  Dr. Red Fang, still on the outside of the ring, ends up tripping Johnston.

Dr. Red Fang jumps back in the ring, relatively fresh from playing possum (?) on the outside for almost the entire match.

Adam Rose was eliminated by Dr. Red Fang with TRANSYLVANIAN PILEDRIVER after 10 minutes

Dr. Red Fang wins the Battle Royal!!! (129 min)

After the match, Dr. Red Fang took the briefcase and left without saying a word.  I guess he’ll let us know what title he wants to go after sooner rather than later.

The Main event for the evening is Bray Wyatt defending the HWF World title against the Big Show.  This match had Brass Knuckles stipulation and Bray immediately used them stunning Show.  Bray took the match and totally owned it (271 to 133) but nothing he did would keep the Giant’s shoulders to the mat for that 3 count.  Bray hit Show with everything he had but Show would not stay down.  Just as the match was winding down, Bray blasted show 3x with the brass knuckles and a busted and bloodied Show remained on his knees.  Bray nailed a lifting sideslam and made the cover but Show powered out.  Bray was going to try for something else but the bell rang signaling a draw to this 30 minute battle.  Bray was beside himself and called for the Desperados to come down.  El Chango, the Stache and Leon Teremoto beat down on Show until Kane came out for the save.  Kane was followed out by a very unlikely partner – King CJ!  Between CJ and Kane, they chased the Desperados out of the ring.  CJ looked at Show and extended his hand. Show looked to the crowd and after getting their approval, shook it.  CJ, Kane and Big Show celebrated in the ring as the show came to a close.

HWF/CSWA Wrestling Newsletter 2016 – #448

Hello fans and welcome back to our newsletter.  Today’s show immediately starts off with a tag team match.  This one will be for tag team placement in the women’s tag team division.  First, 2 members of the 4 Horsewomen – Bayley and Becky Lynch – make their way to the ring.  They are then followed out by Madame Jade and the Fabulous One, Taylor Bella.   All 4 wresters get in the ring and proved why the women’s division is just as hot as the men’s.  The Horsewomen and Jade and Taylor took the fight to each other for a solid 16 minutes before Taylor & Jade got the lead after 2 minutes of double teaming on Becky.  Becky seemed in a bad way so Bayley jumped in for the save.  Taylor makes the tag to Jade after she hit a sunset flip and got a 2 count.  Jade immediately hit an arm drag take down and rolled right into a pin and got the 1-2-3.  Taylor & Madame Jade get the win and move back up in the tag team rankings.  The other two members of the Horsewomen Charlotte and Sasha Banks ran down to the ring but Taylor and Jade took off.  The Horsewomen stewed in the ring before leaving.  (22 min)

In the back, Awesome Kong says she is tired of sitting around and the time for that is over. She calls out the Women’s Champion Paige for a match tonight and puts her career on the line.  If Paige is a real champion, she’ll accept.

The New Intercontinental Champion Magnum Kone makes his way to the ring.  He is received by a mixed reaction from the fans.  Kone tells us that he let his temper get the best of him when he was fighting both the Stache and CJ.   He went home and his daughter Vanilla Bean Kone expressed her disappointment with her father’s approach to the situation.  Magnum thought hard and long and told his daughter that she was right and he was here to make amends.  He points to his daughter at ringside and she hops the barrier and enters the ring and gives her father a hug.  The fans cheer as Magnum and Vanilla Bean leave the ring and head to the back.

It is time for the next match.  Prestige Inc. member Magnus comes out first.  His opponent tonight is the Forgotten’s Braun Stroman who is accompanied by the Undertaker.  Stroman beat Magnus around the ring and Undertaker kept telling Stroman to pick up Magnus instead of going for the pin.  This one went on for 27 minutes and after Undertaker thought Magnus had enough, he told Stroman to go for the pin.  Stroman nails a scoop power bodyslam and makes the cover to get the pin.  The Undertaker joins Braun Stroman in the ring and raises his hand.  Stroman stares at Magnus but eventually leaves without further incident.  (27 min)

US Champion Phat Sol is in the back and he says he wants a confrontation with Dr. Red Fang.  He wants answers and tonight, he’ll get Fang in the ring.  If the Dr. doesn’t answer, he’ll take it out on his hide.

We go back to the ring for our next match.  The Dust Brothers – Goldust and Stardust – make their way out first.  Next, their opponents The Canadians – the Savior and Drew, the Canadian Love Machine come out next to a huge pop from the fans.  This match is for the #10 spot for the World Tag team titles – a spot that has opened up after the Attitude Adjustment (Abyss & Adam Rose) imploded.  The Canadians took the lead early on but the experience of the brothers made them a viable threat.  The end came after an exhausted Stardust made the tag to his brother who walked right in to a handstand headscissors from Drew and he used that momentum to roll him up for the pin.  Drew and the Savior are now in the tag team title hunt.  (15 min)

In the back, we see Magnus grab his bag and starts to walk out.  The former King Damian Sandow tries to stop him but Magnus keeps walking.  Sandow is left wondering just what the hell happened.

We go back to the ring as music plays and out comes the NEW KING of the CSWA and HWF – the Hashtag himself – CJ.  CJ makes his way to the ring on his throne that is carried to the ring by 6 suits.  CJ enters the ring and is handed a mic.

“King of the ring....wow KING OF THE RING!!!!! WHAT AN HONOR .....such an honor to say you are the KING OF THE RING... at yet another sold event....the hashtag has stayed hungry....stayed training and finally FINALLY #CJ has reached a pinnacle in his career....but rest assured this is just a peak

NOT a plateau, which means guess what the best is still yet to come....and stache, dont think ive forgotten about you...not by a long shot... you see you’ve always been a thorn in the side of the hashtag.... an annoyance and yes even a nemesis. .. and I've climbed the highest of rocks...and fought the baddest of giants...yet you have been that fly that has annoyed me....i may be the King but you...you have somehow become a champion.... the hashtag wants gold...world gold…hardcore gold...Undisputed gold …whatever it takes…and then and only then will he not only be the King of the ring but perhaps a King of Kings!!!!!!!# hashtag out” (drops the mic)

CJ gets back on his throne and he waves to the fans all regal like and they pop for him.   A fan at ringside is holding a sign and CJ asks for it.  He holds it up to the camera and it reads “Royalty for the People”.

There is a brief intermission and then US Champion Phat Sol makes his way to the ring.  He calls out Dr. Red Fang – a man (if you can call him that) who attacked him and he wants to know why.  Dr. Red Fang makes his way out snarling and growling at the fans as he walks down.  He immediately takes a mic.

DRF:  “Who do you think you are?  I am not a dog that can be summoned.”

Phat:  “I want to know why you attacked me for no reason.”

DRF:  “I don’t’ answer questions.  I break bones.”

Phat:  “You will answer my questions.”

DRF:  “Yell at me again and I’ll choke you out.”

Phat:  (grabs the shirt of Fang) “What is your problem?”

DRF:  “Are you forgetting how much pain I'm capable of delivering?  I recommend you lower your voice.”

Phat:  (releases the shirt)  “Answer my question and you’re free to go.”

DRF:  “What kind of name is Phat Sol anyway? What a ridiculous name!  Lucas Johnston better get in here to help you…oh wait…he’s not helping anyone anymore.”

Phat:  “Damn you straight to Hell.”

DRF:  “There's a Vampire Lunge with your name on it if you yell at me again!  As I said, I don’t answer questions, I break bones.  You want answers, go consult a Magic 8 Ball.”

With that, Phat just opened up on Dr. Red Fang and staff from the back had to come out and separate the two.  GM Max McGillicutty comes out and says that at the next show, Phat Sol and Dr. Red Fang will have a match – a specialty rules one and the US title will be on the line.  He then orders everyone to leave the ring.

Women’s Champion Paige is in the back and she says she welcomes the fight that Awesome Kong will bring and tonight, in the main event, Paige will show the world why she’s the Champ.

We go back to ring for our 2^nd to last match and this one has Curtis Axel vs Austin Aries for Aries’ spot for the NA title.   Before the match can begin, North American Champion Kevin Owens makes his way out.  He goes to sit at commentary.  Axel held his own against Aries but Austin stayed just ahead of his challenger.  The end came when Axel went for the “Axehole Hangman’s facebuster” but it was nullified and Aries hit the Aries 450 and hooked the leg to get the 3 count.  Austin Aries retains his spot.  After the match, he had a staredown with Kevin Owens and eventually everyone left.  (16 min)

GM Max McGillicutty comes back out and says that with all the retirements that are going on, the roster will start to become slimmer but that is only a good thing as more people will be given the chance to shine.  He says each and every superstar needs to take advantage of opportunities they are granted and make something of them.

It is time for the main event.  First, the challenger Awesome Kong comes out.  She is by far the largest woman our federations.  Music changes and out comes the Women’s Champion Paige.  Paige makes her way to the ring to a decent pop from the fans.  Kong wastes no time and goes right after the champ.  Kong dominated the champion in a way we’ve never seen before.  She tossed Paige around like a rag doll and the champ could not catch her bearings.  Kong nailed a choke slam on Paige and got a 2 count.  Kong would follow it up with a big boot to the face and a bodyslam but Paige kicked out again.  Kong goes to the top rope and nailed a splash.  She stands over Paige and drags her thumb across her throat.  She puts one foot on Paige.  The ref counts 1…2…KICKOUT (barely).  Kong can’t believe it.  Kong climbs the turnbuckle again and nails ANOTHER splash.  She drags her thumb across her neck again and puts her foot on Paige and raises her arms.  The ref counts 1…2…KICKOUT.  Kong stares in disbelief.  Kong picks her up and nails a boot to the face.  She goes for the pin but Paige locks in the Paige-Turner.  She’s got Kong trapped in the middle of the ring.  Kong is flapping around like a fish out of water but she can’t reach the ropes.  She ends up TAPPING OUT.  HOLY CRAP.  Paige just got Kong to tap out and she not only wins the match and keeps her title but Kong is now out of a job.  Kong is pissed and ends up walking out of the ring while medics from the back came out to check on the champ.  Paige ends up being able to leave on her own and celebrates with the fans before leaving. (9 min with a score of 44 (Paige) to 104 (Kong)).

HWF/CSWA Wrestling Newsletter 2016 – #447 – Fallout from the PPV

Hello fans and welcome back to our newsletter.  As expected, the King of the Ring exceeded all PPV buy numbers as well as being sold out.  GM Max McGillicutty knows he has his work cut out for him as we begin our road to Wrestlemania.

Max comes out to start off the show and as is typical, thanks the fans for attending/buying the PPV.  He goes on to say that the title (or crown as it were) would be defended yearly at an event such as King of the Ring.  The winner will hold the crown for an entire year and is guaranteed one shot at any title he wants at any PPV.  This means that King CJ can pick and choose a title he wants to fight for (except the Undisputed title unless he is already the World Champion) at any of the next 12 PPV’s.  Knowing the Hashtag as we do, it is doubtful he will wait that long.

The first of our matches kick off with the Attitude Connection (Abyss & Adam Rose) heading to the ring for their match.  Their opponents, the Steel Curtain (Buzz & Starbuck Steel) make their way out too to a huge pop.  Their match begins with Starbuck taking on Abyss.  The two fought like cats & dogs and Adam Rose tagged himself in.  Buzz also makes it in and annihilates Rose.  Rose makes the desperate tag back to Abyss who seems pretty peeved at Rose.  Rose then tells Abyss that he has to take a break and goes to sit at commentary.  In the meantime, Starbuck is tagged in and after hitting an uppercut, he sends Abyss to the outside.  Abyss just stares at Rose at commentary and he’s not even paying attention.  Abyss walks away from the ring.  Finally Rose looks up to see his partner gone but it’s too late.  Abyss & Rose are counted out and the Steel Curtain win this one.  Rose storms to the back yelling for his partner.  (15 min)

In the back, Brie Bella says tonight, she gets a shot at the Diva’s title held by Ravishing Raquel.  Raquel thinks she’s “all that” and says after tonight, Raquel will be like her husband Reid…a non-Champion.

We go back to the ring for our next match which is for the US title.  Seth Rollins of the Shield makes his way to the ring.  He is then followed by champion Phat Sol.  Phat is ambushed on his way to the ring by Dr. Red Fang.  Fang dropped Phat with a Vampire Lunge.  He is in no shape for his match right now but he has very little choice.  Max comes out and says to give Phat a fair shake, he makes this a 30 minute best of 3 falls match.  Rollins easily owned the match as Phat could barely remain on his feet.  Rollins scores the first fall after taking out Phat’s leg with a running single leg dropkick. (7 min).  The match continues and sees Rollins continue his domination but after getting too cocky, he missed a curb stomp attempt and Phat hits him with the ‘Phat Phat’ (Brainbuster) and makes the cover for the 1-2-3. (11 min).  We now are down to one fall each with only 12 min left in the match.  Rollins turned up the intensity again but Phat hung in there just long enough to make it that final 12 min.  The bell rings signaling this one has reached the time limit and is a draw.  Rollins is pissed off and Phat takes his title and immediately leaves.  (12 min for final fall; 30 min draw)

The Triple Crown Champion Bray Wyatt is in the back talking to Desperado member and Hardcore Champion the Stache.  Bray tells the Stache the reason the Desperados lost as they were not a cohesive team.  Bray questions if the Stache is really living up to his potential.  Bray tells Stache to be mindful of those around him and not to be a glory hound.  Stache says he will apologize to his teammates.

Next up is for the Diva’s title with the champion Ravishing Raquel taking on one half of the Bella Twins Brie.  Brie’s sisters Nikki and Taylor make their way out to cheer on their sister.  This doesn’t sit well with the champ and she is immediately thrown off her game.  At one point in the match, the ref took a bump and Nikki pulled her sister out of the ring and took her place.  Nikki beat down on the champ until Brie was fresh enough to make it back in.  Just as the ref was recovering, Brie sneaks back in and nails the champ with a sitout facebuster.  Brie hooks the leg (and the tights) and the ref counted 1-2-3.  Brie Bella just defeated Ravishing Raquel to become the NEW DIVA’s CHAMPION.  Brie celebrated with Nikki and Taylor as Raquel made her way to the back.   (21 min)

In the back, A-Team members Alberto Del Rio and Adrian Neville are talking about US title rankings.  Neville says that Del Rio should give him his spot because it’s the right thing to do.  Alberto says hell no.  Neville then challenges Alberto for his spot.  The challenge is out.  Alberto has to accept.  Antonio Cesaro walks in and is wondering just what in the hell is going on.

Daniel Bryan makes his way out to the ring.  Bryan says that he’s frustrated at sitting on the sidelines not being used.  Daniel then throws out a challenge to Bray Wyatt for the CSWA World Title.  Bray comes out says he owes Daniel nothing.  Bryan offers to put his career on the line.  Wyatt comments that he alone is responsible for putting out Sting, Brock Lesnar and the Undertaker and asks Daniel if he really wants to be in that club.  Daniel starts a “YES!” chant and Bray says he’s happy to oblige.  Bray says though that he controls the when and where and it may not be tonight.  Daniel will get his shot; he may have to wait for it though.

Clarkus Kentus is in the back and knocks on a dressing room door.  The door swings open in violent fashion.  “You dare disturb Dr. Red Fang Clarkus Kentus?!?! I should clothesline you out of your shoes!”  Clarkus stands his ground.  “Dr. Red Fang, you are a bully and a coward.  Someone should reprimand you.”  Fang snarls “Are you forgetting how much pain I'm capable of delivering Kentus? I recommend you lower your voice.”  Clarkus, not one to be deterred, responded “I am not afraid of you.”  Fang leans in and says “back home in Transylvania (or was it Romania?) we didn't let people like you yell at us. Watch your back.”  Clarkus asks if that was a threat and Fang slams the door in his face.  Clarkus seems to have narrowly escaped an attack there.

We head back to the ring just as Adrian Neville has made his way out.  He is then followed by Alberto Del Rio with Antonio Cesaro in tow asking him not to do this.  Del Rio says that he must answer the challenge.  Del Rio manhandled Neville throwing him all around the ring all the while Cesaro watched from commentary.  Finally when Alberto thought the lesson he was here to teach was received, he dropped Neville with a release german suplex.  Alberto made the cover and got the win.  After the match, Alberto extended his hand to Adrian and they shook.  Cesaro blew a sigh of relief and the A-Team left together.  (19 min)

Max makes his way out and once again thanks the fans for coming out but we hear a commotion in the back.  The curtains part and Bray Wyatt is dragging Daniel Bryan to the ring.  Bryan is trying to fight off Bray but the Triple Crown champion shrugs it off.  Wyatt tells the ref to ring the bell.  This was nothing short of a massacre.  Bray announced this would be a ‘boot camp’ rules match and proceeded to beat Daniel all over and around the ring using everything he could find.  Daniel would try to battle back but after getting ambushed in a guerrilla attack, he did his best just to stand on his own two feet.  Bray went for a stomp with military boot but Daniel reversed it and attempted a regal suplex but that was reversed and Bray bashed him with a German helmet.  Bray finally made the cover and got the 1-2-3.  Bray Wyatt is victorious and retains his title.  He leaves as Bryan struggles to his feet.  The fans chant “Thank You Daniel” (clap, clap, clapclapclap) over and over as an emotional Daniel Bryan made the long trek up the ramp and saluted the fans for the last time.

HWF/CSWA Wrestling Newsletter 2016 – #446 – King of the Ring PPV

Hello fans and welcome back to our newsletter.  King of the Ring is HERE.  We are live in front of a SOLD OUT crowd and the place is just electric.  As Gorilla Monsoon used to say “The fans are hanging from the rafters” and this show is no different as they were in Gorilla’s day.  GM Max McGillicutty comes out and the fans pop for him.  Max gets on the mic and thanks everyone for attending in person and on PPV and he promises this show will exceed all expectations.  He is then interrupted by Dr. Red Fang.  Fang comes out and snarls at the GM.  “Fang, what do you want?” Max asks.  Fang growls and says “I don’t have time for your stupid questions.  I am here to destroy anyone in my path.  I was screwed out of the King of the Ring tournament and it should be ME in that match.”  Max basically says “too bad, so sad but since you’re here, YOU can kick off the show so get to the ring.  NOW!”  Fang looks at him again “Yell at me again, and I’ll choke you out!”  Fang heads to the ring for his match.

Dr. Red Fang’s opponent Lucas Johnston comes out and he gets a pop.  The fans obviously want him to win and hope Fang loses badly.  Fang immediately attacks Lucas as the bell rings.  Both men fought tooth and nail with neither giving any ground.  The tide changed after Fang dropkicked the knee of Lucas and he dropped.  Fang then pulled Lucas to the corner and repeatedly smashed the knee and leg of Lucas against the unforgiving steel of the ring post.  Fang then pulled Johnston back into the middle of the ring and locked in the Spider Web leg lock.  Lucas was at the point of almost passing out from the pain and he eventually succumbed and tapped out.  The bell rang but Fang wouldn’t let up.  He kept Lucas trapped in the hold and it took about a dozen other refs and ‘shirts’ to get him off Lucas.  Fang jumped onto the turnbuckle in front of the camera and growled and snarled.  He tried to go back on the attack but there was enough buffer to keep him away.  Fang left as the ‘shirts’ called for medics and a stretcher.  (7 min for the match; 10 for the segment)

Roving reporter Larry Morton is standing there shaking his head.  He just can’t believe that Fang is still around and hasn’t been dealt with.  He takes a deep breath and turns to his guest – former IC champion Sonic Blade.  Sonic says that Ethan cheated to win but justice will be served tonight when he regains his title. 

Clarkus Kentus is in the back and he is with Triple Crown Champion Bray Wyatt & Desperados interview.  Bray looks at the camera and starts “"It's happening. We're not in Wonderland anymore, Alice. The Undertaker feels the need to fill this void inside of him. The burden of his legacy weighs down heavy on his shoulders. After all, kids, what would the mighty Undertaker be without his legacy? I have a legacy of my own. My father was the war. My brother was the snail that entrapped me and forced me to watch. My mother was the streets that taught me to survive. The world is my teacher. And I am what you made me. I don't want to save the Undertaker; there's nothing left for me to fix. I just want to stand back as it all burns down."  He hands the mic to the Stache.  “We are not of this world. We do not obey your rules; we do not conform to your society. Sleep with one eye open, and know that we are everywhere. And we can never stop.”

We go back to the ring for our next match which is for the Women’s Tag Team titles.  First, the challengers ‘Fabulous’ Taylor Bella and her partner Madame Jade.  They get a decent pop as they head to the ring.  They are then followed out by the champs – Charlotte Flair and Sasha Banks.  They are accompanied to the stage by their 4 Horsewomen teammates – Bayley and Becky Lynch.  The four of them stand on the stage holding up four fingers on each hand representing the past (the original Horsemen led by Charlotte’s father the Nature Boy Ric Flair) and them as the future.  Charlotte and Sasha head down to the ring and their teammates remain on the stage.  The match begins and the champs own this match but no matter what they did, they could not keep their opponents down for a 3 count.  This one went the distance.  Lots of double teaming as well as saves.  The match was well received by the fans.  Just as the seconds were winding down, Taylor tossed Charlotte out of the ring.  Charlotte, seeing that there was no way a win would be achieved in this match, remained outside until the time limit bell rang bringing this one to a close.  Charlotte and Sasha took their belts and left while an exhausted Madame Jade and Taylor Bella shook hands with the fans before leaving.  (30 min draw)

Larry Morton is interviewing the new Intercontinental Champion Ethan Carter III.  ECIII says that Max is forcing him into this match and there are more deserving people out there than Sonic Blade.  Blade needs to go to the bottom and start over but since he has to do this tonight, he’ll beat Sonic Blade like the government mule he is.

Back in the office of Max McGillicutty (the door is closed) we hear someone say “I have a money in the bank contract and I plan on cashing it in tonight.”  We hear Max ask “Where and when did you get that?”  The mystery person answers “It was one of those shows you thought you were too good to show up for and your interim manager made it happen.”  Max replied “There has never been a money in the back contract match on our main show that I did not authorize.”  “This was one of those ‘other’ shows – the ones you put all your non-main eventers on.  I agreed to go but there had to be this carrot at the end of that dark tunnel.”  Max says “Let me see that.”  There is a brief silence until Max says “Well, it appears legit.  What belt are you cashing it in for?”  The mystery person says “No one will know until it happens.  Are you ok with this?  Frankly though, it doesn’t matter.  I’m leaving with a belt tonight.”

We cut to another interview area where Clarkus Kentus is with the Elitist Champion the Wraith.  The Wraith says that Reid is just crying over spilled milk and can’t handle the fact that a “real man” is holding this gold.  He tells Reid that he will be sent home empty handed and that will be the end of Reid Rothchild.

It is title match time and the Intercontinental title is on the line between the champion Ethan Carter III vs Sonic Blade.  Blade comes out first to a nice pop from the crowd.  ECIII comes out next and is heavily booed.  The champ started off strong but Blade got his wind half way through the match.  Blade gained momentum so quickly that ECIII panicked (even though on paper, he was still winning the match) and he sucker punched the ref causing a DQ.  Sonic Blade wins the match but the title does not change hands on a DQ. Sonic is not happy with the decision.  (11 min)  Music hits and out comes our Money in the Bank contract holder …wait, it’s the King of Cones, Magnum Kone.  He power walks down to the ring and both Sonic Blade and ECIII are stunned.  Magnum turns in the briefcase and the bell rings.  The King of Cones tears into ECIII and he is just on fire.  Ethan tried to run away once but Sonic Blade blocked his way and chased him back to the ring.  Ethan was overwhelmed in the ring and after getting trapped in the drumstick (armbar), Kone drops him hard.  He makes the cover and the ref counted 1…2…3!  Magnum Kone has just defeated ECIII to become the NEW Intercontinental Champion!  Kone takes the title and looks at Sonic Blade.  Blade nods and Kone returns the acknowledgement.  Kone’s backup – Haggen and Daas come out with the ice cream container and end up throwing mini cups to fans in the audience.  The fans cheer (although skeptical about Magnum Kone, they appreciated the free ice cream) and Magnum poses briefly with his belt and then leaves.  (12 min)

Larry Morton is live with a status update on Lucas Johnston            .  Morton says the doctors have checked Lucas out and even though he appears to be ok, they want him to go to the hospital for further evaluation.

Clarkus Kentus is live and he has the Undertaker & Forgotten with him.  Undertaker says that no one on this earth has seen a team such as the Forgotten.  Tonight, they will dismantle the Desperados and Undertaker will take the World title and once again be king of the mountain.  When Undertaker is through with Bray, Bray will Rest…In…Peace.

We go back to the ring for our next match which will be Lights Out rules.  Music hits and out comes the Undertaker and his team, the Forgotten (Luke Harper, Erick Rowan and Braun Stroman).  The Forgotten follow behind the Undertaker like lost puppy dogs.  The lights go up and the music changes and out comes the Desperados (the Stache, El Chango and Leon Teremoto) and their leader, the Triple Crown Champion Bray Wyatt.  Bray and Undertaker leave the ring and then all hell breaks loose.  El Chango started off the match but the Stache wanted in so he tagged himself in.  After that, the Forgotten double and triple teamed the Stache for the next 10 minutes.  They would not allow him to tag out at all.  Apparently, the Stache wanted the glory for himself and opted not to share.  When he finally got an offensive move in on Stroman (the tombstone - a piledriver) he made a sloppy cover but Luke Harper made the save but prevented Stache from tagging out.  Stroman recovered enough and hit the Black Sheep Cutter on a steel chair.  He made the cover and neither El Chango nor Leon tried to stop it.  Stroman got the 1-2-3 and the Forgotten get the win in this battle.  Undertaker gathered the Forgotten and they left.  World Tag team champs were left with their partner the Hardcore champ.  El Chango got into the Stache’s face yelling at him.  The Stache tried to explain but they didn’t want to hear it.  They turned their backs on him and walked off.  Stache eventually followed.  (10 min)

Larry Morton is in the back with Reid Rothchild and his wife the Diva’s Champion Ravishing Raquel.  Raquel expresses her displeasure that she is not on the card tonight but she will accompany her husband to the ring where he will defeat that “simpleton” the Wraith and take back the title HE created.  Reid thanks his wife for all the kind words and says that the Wraith had his time in the sun but tonight, the “REAL” man takes his title back in front of the world.

We head back to the ring for our next title match.  Reid Rothchild comes out and heads to the ring accompanied by Ravishing Raquel.  Men in the audience whistle at her and Reid almost takes their heads off.  They continue to the ring.  Music changes and the Elitist Champion the Wraith makes his way out.  He doesn’t acknowledge the fans who go from mild cheering to booing.  No time is wasted as Reid and the Wraith go right at it.  Both hit trademark moves in a battle that never let up.  The longer the match went on, the Wraith kept turning up the heat ever so slightly.  Before we knew it, the match was already in the 29^th minute of the match.  Reid nailed a Rothchild Stunner that didn’t exactly ‘stun’ the Wraith.  Wraith hit a slingshot suplex and followed it up with a back rake.  He then grabbed Reid’s tights and rolled him up and put his foot on the ropes for leverage as the ref counted 1-2-3 just before the time limit bell rang.  The Wraith steals a win and retains the title.  Reid, still a lot in his tank, continued to fight the Wraith who bailed and Reid chased him to the back.  (29 ½ min)

Larry Morton is backstage with the current “King” Damian Sandow.  Sandow, a member of Prestige Inc. said that he didn’t feel the need to defend his crown but being in the main event, victory will be that much sweeter when he “defends” his crown and continues to be the “King” of the HWF and CSWA.

Clarkus Kentus is in the interview area with the Steel Curtain.  Starbuck Steel says that the Ascension has been a thorn in their side for as long as they can remember.  After tonight, that thorn will be plucked and eliminated.  Buzz Steel adds in that ever since losing their belts to the Desperados, they haven’t had the greatest win record but that all changes when whey walk out of the steel cage as the victors.

The lights go dim, the eerie blue light lights the way to the ring and the Undertaker makes his way to the ring.  As he enters the ring, he raises his arms and the lights come up.  Music hits and the Triple Crown Champion Bray Wyatt comes out.  As Bray is on his way to the ring, GM Max McGillicutty comes out and says that if the Undertaker loses, he must retire as an active competitor from the sport.  However, if he wins, he will get a title shot at the Undisputed Heavyweight Championship.   Undertaker immediately nails a chokeslam and the Last Ride.  Bray tried to battle back but Undertaker had his number.  Bray barely kicked out of a tombstone piledriver.  Undertaker grabs a chair and brings it into the ring.  Bray, in an act of desperation, hits a lifting side slam.  He is slow moving to make the cover and Undertaker kicks out.  He then sits up.  Bray goes over and picks up the chair as Undertaker is getting up.  Bray blasts him with it busting Undertaker up.  He makes the quick cover and hooks the leg.  The ref counts 1-2-3.  Bray Wyatt wins the match and retains his title.  Undertaker is now OUT from active competition.  The Forgotten run down to the ring and go after Bray but he bails and leaves while still holding the chair.  The Forgotten stand around Undertaker.  He gets up and they all leave together.  (11 min)

Clarkus Kentus interview the Ascension (Konnor & Viktor) with MJ.  MJ says the Steel Curtain keep interfering in their business.  After tonight, in the confines of the steel cage, the Steel Curtain will be laid to rest and they will never have to deal with them…ever again.

Larry Morton is in the back with the hashtag himself, CJ.  CJ says that tonight he has the honor of taking on King Damian Sandow and possibly winning the crown.  He promises to give 150% and knows the fans would not accept anything less. 

The crew have finished assembling the steel cage for our next match.  First, the Ascension with MJ come out and they are booed heavily.  They enter the cage as MJ goes to sit at ringside.  The Steel Curtain then make their way out to one of the loudest pops of the evening.  They take no time and rush the ring, enter the cage and the match begins almost immediately.   The fight begins with all 4 men beating the crap out of each other for 2 solid minutes.  Finally, the ref got control of the match and separated everyone.  Buzz saw the most action in the ring but Konnor and Viktor tagged in and out more frequently to avoid getting too tired.  Starbuck, who had been beaten down for a  few minutes, makes the hot tag to Buzz who nails a superman punch before getting a one count.  Starbuck is back in but ends up eating a running powerslam onto the cage.  Buzz sandwiches Konnor between the ropes and the cage.  He pulls him into the ring and the ref executes a very fast count and gives them the pin.  As the Steel Curtain try to get out, MJ is at the door and is running a chain through it to keep it closed.  Starbuck hurls Viktor against the door and it smashes into MJ who goes flying.  Starbuck dashes through the open door to the floor and the Steel Curtain win this one in insane fashion.  The Steel Curtain are the winners and they head to the back amidst the cheers from the fans.  The Ascension and MJ collect their bearings and leave on their own.  (20 min)

The 4 Horsewomen (Charlotte, Bayley, Sasha and Becky) are talking backstage and Charlotte mentions that their match against Jade and Bella was as close as they’d ever come to a substantial loss.  She thinks that they will be back for a rematch in the future but Bayley and Becky need to make sure that doesn’t happen.  Bayley asks if they turn back the threat from Jade and Taylor as well as anyone else who threatens them, will Charlotte give her and Becky a title match.  Charlotte says “of course” and sends a questioning look at Sasha who shrugs her shoulders.

It is time for the Main Event.  GM Max McGillicutty comes out and says that the show tonight has exceeded all expectations and following this match, the road to Wrestlemania begins.  Before that can happen though, the “icing on the cake” of matches as it were still needed to take place.  Max introduces, first, the challenger.  CJ comes out to one of the loudest pops of the night.  He high-fives fans and even signs a few autographs for the youngsters as he makes his way to the ring.  Max introduces CJ as the winner of the King of the Ring tournament and he is here for what could be the biggest event in his career (no pressure).  Max then introduces his lordship and member of Prestige, Inc. King Damian Sandow.  Sandow comes out to a mixed reaction.  Sandow is accompanied by Prestige, Inc. members Reid Rothchild, Magnus and the Diva’s champion Ravishing Raquel.  Max asks that Sandow fight this one on his own and requests that the rest of Prestige Inc. remain in the back to await the results.  They all shake hands with Sandow and he heads to the ring as they turn and leave.

The two start right off and it’s nothing short of a slobber knocker.  CJ stuns Sandow with a fireman’s carry and Sandow delivers a knee drop.  CJ then hit Sandow with flying dropkicks that sent his lordship back to the corner to rethink his strategy.  Sandow catches CJ with a swinging neckbreaker.  It went on like this for 20 solid minutes.  The fans were behind both men.  CJ almost had the win after nailing a bulldog from the top rope but somehow Sandow reached deep and was able to kick out.  CJ just couldn’t believe it.  He then trapped Sandow in a guillotine choke but Sandow was quick to get to the ropes.  Sandow hit a Russian leg sweep and followed it up with a spinning elbow drop.  Sandow thought he had it sewn up but somehow CJ found the intestinal fortitude to keep going.  Sandow couldn’t believe it.  After trading blows for another few minutes, Sandow set CJ up for the Double Arm Neckbreaker but CJ squirmed out of it and hit a bulldog practically out of nowhere.  He hooked the leg as the ref made the count 1…2….(seemed to go on forever)…3.  CJ has just defeated Damian Sandow to become the NEW KING of the CSWA and HWF.  Balloons and streamers fall from the ceiling as the “shirts” (dressed as royalty) proceeded to put the robe and crown on CJ and then hand him his scepter.  The fans started to chant “All Hail the King” as the show came to an end.

HWF/CSWA Wrestling Newsletter 2016 – #445

Hello fans and welcome back to our newsletter.  GM Max McGillicutty kicks off the show by announcing that today will be the tournament to see who goes on to the PPV to challenge King Damian Sandow for the “King” crown.  Max says that no one will be able to advance on a countout or DQ win so there will be winners in each level of the tourney.  Max leaves as pyro goes off and the show is ready to kick off.

Match 1:  The first match of the night is Zack Ryder taking on Dr. Red Fang.   Zack seemed really pumped up for this this match and took the match to the Dr. but no matter what he did, he could not keep Fang down for the 3 count. Ryder began to get frustrated and Fang capitalized on it.  Ryder went for the Flapjack but Fang neutralized it.  Ryder then went for the Broski Boot Running Facewash but Fang reversed it and nailed the Transylvania Piledriver.  Ryder was out.  Fang went for the cover and with his feet on the ropes, he got the 1-2-3.  Dr. Red Fang moves on in the tournament.  (19 min [Score Ryder 112, Fang 76])

Max comes out and congratulates Fang on his win but like the jerk he is, all he did was snarl at the GM.  Max shrugs it off.  He then says that, at the PPV, Bray Wyatt will be in the corner of his team the Desperados and Undertaker will be in the corner for the Forgotten.  He leaves so the next match can begin.

Match 2:  Prince Devitt vs Lucas Johnston.   Because these matches were no DQ, it was inevitable that someone would interfere.  This time, Dr. Red Fang ran down and blasted Lucas with a chair and the wrapped the chair around the ankle of Lucas and then stomped hard.  The ref gave Lucas a few moments to try to recover but he never did.  Devitt ended up locking Lucas in an ankle lock and Lucas, screaming in pain, had no choice but to tap out.  Dr. Red Fang caused Lucas to lose this one.  Prince Devitt moves on in the tournament.  (13 min [Johnston 57, Devitt 103])

Match #3:  The Axe vs Dolph Ziggler.  The Axe comes out first and introduces his “special” referee (‘Slow Count Sam’) and he is booed.  Ziggler comes out next and the fans pop for him.  Axe goes old school and just brawls with the pretty boy.  At one point, Ziggler almost gets counted out but barely makes it back in much to Axe’s chagrin.  The fans popped again for Dolph and he took the match to the Axe turning the tide in his favor.  All of a sudden, in from the crowd comes Dirk ‘the Pick’ Devon.  Devon nailed the Axe with the Pearl drum drop and Axe was hurting after that.  He managed to make it back into the ring finally and Dolph turned up the intensity.  After stunning the Axe with lots of dropkicks, Dolph connects with the Zig Zag (reverse bulldog) and he makes the cover and gets the 1-2-3.  Dolph Ziggler gets the win and moves on in the tournament.  On the outside of the ring, Dirk Devon smiles evilly before departing through the crowd.  (21 min)

Undertaker is back in the interview area and says that he is a man of few words as his actions speak for themselves.  He says that Bray will Rest in Peace and this will be an easy match for the Deadman.

The tournament continues with the final match of the first round.  Match #4:  CJ vs the Savior.  The Savior starts off by tossing CJ out of the ring after being on the receiving end of a superplex.  CJ is back in and nails a second one but Savior hits a package DDT for a 2 count.  Savior dazzles CJ with the Laying of the Hands and CJ stops that with a handstand headlock.  Savior nails a Holy Uppercut and CJ drops him with a dropkick.  The Savior hits two consecutive Brain Busters but CJ has the wherewithal to know where he is and reaches the safety of the ropes.  As the Savior goes to pull him back into the middle of the ring, CJ locks in a guillotine choke and the Savior, with nowhere else to go, taps out.  CJ gets the win and advances after this awesome (but short) 9 minute match.

Max comes back out and says that if Lucas is up to it, he will have 2 days to rehab his leg/ankle and he can have Fang in any type of match he wants at the PPV.

After a brief intermission, Match #5 begins:  Dr. Red Fang vs Prince Devitt.  This one went a bit longer than the last and saw Devitt and Fang trade control of the match numerous times.  Fang visited the outside of the ring a few times and Prince almost got caught staring at the lights while trying to kick out of pin attempts.  As we expected, Lucas Johnston hobbled down to the ring and stood just beyond the ring.  Dr. Red Fang saw him and snarled and hissed at him.  Devitt catches Fang with a midsection kick and Fang hits the Transylvania Piledriver.  He laughs at Lucas before making a sloppy cover.  Lucas runs over and puts Devitt’s foot on the ropes.  He yells to the ref to stop the count.  Fang is furious.  Devitt reverses a bodyslam attempt and nails one of his own.  He then hits Fang with the Prince’s Throne and makes the cover to barely get the win.  Prince Devitt is the winner and advances in the tournament.  Lucas grabs a chair and chases Fang from the ring.  He meets GM Max McGillicutty in the back and says he will take the match at the King of the Ring PPV and wants ECW Rules.  (20 min)

Match #6:  CJ vs Dolph Ziggler.  Dolph continues his dominance by hitting CJ right off the bat with a flying dropkick.  CJ struggled after that.  Dolph goes for 5 minutes without CJ putting up any offensive.  Finally, CJ connects with a superplex but Dolph traps him in a body scissors sleeper hold but CJ won’t quit.  Dolph hits multiple jumping elbow drops and then gets sent over the top rope by CJ who uses this time to regroup.  After the much needed break, CJ found his groove and took control.  CJ thought he had it locked up when he locked Dolph in a guillotine choke but Ziggler somehow made it to the ropes.  Both men ended up on the outside a few more times and finally, Ziggler, setting up for a top rope bulldog, gets tripped and he falls into the ring.  CJ sets him up and nails a dropkick.  He securely hooks the leg and miraculously gets the 1-2-3.  CJ is moving to the finals of the KotR tournament.  (14 min)

It is Bray’s turn in the interview area and he challenges Undertaker to put his in-ring career on the line if he is so sure he will win.  Bray says that he will even put up a title match for the Undisputed Heavyweight title if Undertaker agrees to the stipulation AND defeats him.  Bray says the buzzards will feast on the carcass that will be Undertaker’s career.

It is time for the final match of the tournament.  Match #7:   CJ vs Prince Devitt.  Even though CJ just got done with a battle against Ziggler, you couldn’t tell that by watching this match.  CJ seemed fresher (did he take something?) than Devitt appeared.  CJ controlled the match but Devitt would get in a few shots that almost took CJ out.  CJ hits Davitt with a dropkick but gets sent to the outside.  He rethinks his strategy and re-enters the ring. CJ immediately hits a bulldog and then sets up for the guillotine choke.  He locks it in and a weary Devitt taps.  HOLY CRAP!  CJ is the winner of the tournament and will go on to the PPV to take on King Damian Sandow for the “King” crown.  CJ celebrates with the fans before heading to the back exhausted.  (10 min)

The show is getting ready to end but out comes Bray Wyatt.  He calls out the Undertaker who also comes out to the ring.  Bray asks for an answer and Undertaker agrees.  Bray goes for a sneak attack but Taker chokeslams him.  He then nails a Tombstone Piledriver and stands over Bray as the show comes to an end.

HWF/CSWA Wrestling Newsletter 2016 – #444

Hello fans and welcome back to our newsletter.  The PPV is only a week away and we are starting to get down to the final card.  Tonight, we have our final King of the Ring qualifier and the showdown between Undertaker and Kurt Angle to see who gets the shot at Triple Crown Champion Bray Wyatt at the PPV.  Without further ado, let’s get this party started.

The show kicks off with 3^rd generation wrestler Curtis Axel (son of Curt Hennig) making his way to the ring.  Axel is in the ring and then that all-annoying music hits and out comes Dr. Red Fang.  Fang sees a fan holding a sign that reads “You Suck!” and he takes it and tears it up.  He snarls at the fan before continuing on to the ring.  Fang attacks Axel before the bell can even ring.  Axel battled back and even controlled the match until Fang locked him in a spider web leglock.  Fang grabbed the ropes for leverage as Axel screamed in pain.  Eventually, it was too much to handle and Axel tapped out.  Dr. Red Fang gets the win via submission in 11 minutes.  After the match, Fang took to the mic.  “I answer no questions!  Yell at me and I’ll choke you out.   It’s a travesty that I, Dr. Red Fang, am not in the King of the Ring.  That simpleton CJ should never have beaten me.  I am demanding to be added in even if I have to take someone out.   Mark my words, I will be in that tournament or all will feel my wrath.”  Fang then left the ring.  (Editor’s note:  we didn’t’ think Fang had that much of a vocabulary.)

The Olympic hero Kurt Angle is in the back and he says he’s ready to take on the Undertaker.  Angle promises to walk away victorious.  It’s True; its DAMN true.

We head back to the ring for the ‘Big’ showdown.  Out first is 1/3 of the 6 man tag team champions Big E.  He gets into the ring and is acting all goofy.  Music hits “Welllllllllll, it’s the Bigggggggg Showwwwwwww” and out comes the tallest wrester in the HWF and CSWA.  He takes his time getting to the ring.  Big E tries early on to slam Show and he just laughs at him.  It didn’t matter what Big E did, Show just shrugged it off.  Finally, Show caught Big E in a bearhug and just before Big E passed out, Show dropped him and made the cover to get the 3 count.  Just as Show was being announced as the winner, New Day teammates Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods ran out and tried to attack Show.  Xavier ate a knockout punch and Kofi got a chokeslam for his efforts.  All 3 members of New Day tucked their tails between their legs and scampered off.

Undertaker is in the back with the Forgotten (Braun Stroman, Luke Harper & Erick Rowan).  Taker said that tonight he takes care of Angle while the Forgotten take on the Desperados.  After tonight, he will be next in line for the World title and after Taker delivers the last Tombstone, Bray and all the rest will Rest…in … Peace.

We go back to the ring for our next match.  First, out comes the Forgotten (Braun Stroman, Erick Rowan and Luke Harper) and they get into the ring.  Music hit and out comes their opponents the World Tag Team Champions The Desperados (El Chango & Leon Teremoto) and the Hardcore Champion The Stache.  Before they enter the ring, Stache gets on the mic and mocks the Forgotten calling them hicks.  Rowan chases the Stache and once in the ring, they all start to brawl.  The Desperados were much more cohesive and better timed their refreshes.  Leon gets tagged in and after a few minutes of beating down on Luke Harper, Harper, in a moment of desperation, hits Leon with a sitout powerbomb.  He tags out to Braun Stroman who traps Leon in a Liftarm Arm Triangle choke.  Harper takes out El Chango and Erick Rowan takes out the Stache.  Leon, with no one to save him, taps out.  The Forgotten secure a win.  It is short lived as El Chango rushes in with a chair and smashes all 3 of the Forgotten with it chasing them from the ring.  El Chango and the Stache help Leon up and the three of them leave the ring.  (19 min)

We cut the back with an interview with AJ Styles.  Styles says that Mark Henry interfered in his match and cost the X-Factor their match.  Tonight, he shows Henry that he picked a fight with the wrong guy.

It’s time for our final King of the Ring qualifier.  Varsity Club alum Jack Swagger comes out to the ring for his match.  His opponent tonight is the Fiend.  The Fiend gets a decent pop.  The Fiend holds his own but never gets an opportunity to go for a pin.  He stayed toe to toe with Swagger as long as he could but as time progressed, Swagger became more dominant.  Swagger got the Fiend trapped in the Patriot Lock but instead of going for the submission, he violently swung Fiend around and then dropped him and made the cover to get the pin.  Jack Swagger gets the win and is the final entrant into the King of the Ring Tournament.  (19 min).  The victory is interrupted by Dr. Red Fang.  Fang says that he can defeat Swagger.  Swagger says that if Fang can do that, he can have his spot in the King of the Ring tournament but he promises it won’t happen.  Their match will be up after a short break.

Samoa Joe is in the back and says that he’s been lost after losing the World title.  All that changes tonight when he takes on Eric Young.  His path back to the World title begins tonight.

We go back to the ring for the next match which has X-Factor member AJ Styles taking on Enforcer member and the World’s Strongest Man Mark Henry.  Henry was slow compared to the speed Styles put on.  Henry couldn’t even get his hands on him until he planted AJ with a powerslam.  Frustrated, Henry removes the corner turnbuckle exposing all the metal.  He then picked AJ up who wiggled out of it, rushed the ropes and nailed Henry with a dropkick that sent him into the corner hitting his head on the exposed metal.  Henry collapsed back in the ring and AJ made the quick cover and got the 1-2-3.  AJ Styles gets the win and leaves as Mark starts to come to.  (4 min)

GM Max McGillicutty says that Dr. Red Fang talks a lot of crap.  If he doesn’t make an impression, he very well could find himself in the unemployment line.

In a special challenge qualifying match, Dr. Red Fang vs Jack Swagger took place.  Swagger owned Fang at the beginning of the match but as time went on, he became more and more tired.  Fang was still relatively fresh and took the match to Swagger.  After dazzling Swagger with an Airplane Spin, Dr. Red Fang made the cover and with a blatant hook of the tights, he scores the pinfall and is the final entrant in the King of the Ring tournament.   Fang hissed and snarled at the crowd before leaving.  (21 min)

We cut to commotion in the back where The Forgotten attacked the Desperados backstage.  The shirts and suits came out and broke up the fight.  The Desperados challenged the Forgotten to a match at the PPV.

We are back at the ring where Eric Young is pacing and is not happy he didn’t get a proper entrance.  Enforcer member Samoa Joe comes out wearing a jacket with a hood over his face.  He immediately hits the ring and tears into EY.  Joe just plowed through EY and even though Eric tried, it wasn’t good enough.  Finally, one Muscle Buster later and EY is counting the lights in the rafters.  Samoa Joe is BACK and he’s on the path to recover his lost World title.  (11 min)

GM Max McGillicutty comes out and officially adds the Forgotten vs the Desperados to the PPV.  However, he wants it as a Lights Out Rules match. 

It’s time for our main event.  First, the lights go out and the eerie blue light shines the way to the ring.  The Undertaker strolls out and makes his way to ringside.  The lights come up and Kurt Angle’s music hits.  Angle heads to the ring.  Before the match can begin, Triple Crown Champion Bray Wyatt comes out.  Bray goes to sit at commentary with all 3 of his titles.  He doesn’t care who he fights next as both Angle and Undertaker will get future title shots; it’s only a matter of who loses first.  Angle leaves the ring and gets into Bray’s face.  He pie faces the champ and shoves him down after Bray tried to stand.  Kurt got in the ring as the bell rang and started to take the fight to the Undertaker.  After being thrown out of the ring, Undertaker came back in only to be tripped and put in the Angle Lock.  Taker wouldn’t tap.  Undertaker then threw Angle out of the ring by Bray Wyatt.  Bray snuck up on Kurt and nailed him with Sister Abigail.  Bray then snuck back over to commentary.  The ref never saw it.  The ref counted and finally hit 10 counting Kurt down and out.  The Undertaker will take on Bray Wyatt at King of the Ring.  Both men stare at each other as the show came to an end.

Stay tuned as there is only one more show before the PPV and BOY, is it going to be good.

HWF/CSWA Wrestling Newsletter 2016 – #443

Hello fans and welcome back to our newsletter.  The PPV is only 2 Sundays away and there is still lots going on.  GM Max McGillicutty comes out and says that the Steel Curtain will be in action tonight against a team whom he brought in for a “One Night Only” special.  He thinks the crowd will appreciate it.  In other action, there will be another King of the Ring qualifier and we’ll see Sonic Blade defend his Intercontinental Championship against Ethan Carter III.  Tonight, tag team action will kick off the show.  Max leaves.

A golden aura illuminates the ramp and the ring as the Dust Brothers – Goldust and Stardust make their way to the ring.  Their music and lights go off as their opponents come out to “Whaaaaasssapppppp!” and the Dudley Boys (D-Von and Bubba) make their way to the ring.  This was a relatively short match as the Dudleys immediately double teamed the brothers.  It wasn’t until 3 minutes in before Stardust got one shot off.  Bubba came in and yelled “D-VON…Get the Tables!”  D-Von went outside and set up a table.  He then tagged to Bubba to be the legal man.  He took Stardust out of the ring and powerbombed him through the table.  D-Von got back in the ring and the ref counted Stardust down and out.  The Dudley’s get the win.  Goldust went to fetch his brother and helped him to the back.  (4 min)

In the interview area, A-Team member Alberto Del Rio issues a challenge to Bobby Lashley for his spot in the World title lineup.  Lashley is a man of honor so it is expected he’ll accept.

Walking in through the back is AJ Styles.  Clarkus Kentus approaches him and says that the X-Factor are taking on the Shield tonight.  AJ says it doesn’t matter who they are, the Shield, the Enforcers, whomever, they will dismantle them all.  Enforcer member Mark Henry walks up and asks “so you think you can ‘dismantle’ me?”  He and AJ have a staredown before AJ just walks away.

The Steel Curtain (Buzz and Starbuck Steel) make their way out to a nice pop from the crowd.  New music hits and…hang on…we recognize this music.  Holy crap!  It’s the Mexicali Flyers (Tornado en Fuego & El Dragon Insano)!  They have returned “home” after being gone a year.  We then remember that they are only here for one night and the ovation they received was deafening.   After the crowd finally stared to calm down, the match began.  Both teams were evenly matched up and neither would give an inch.  At one point, Starbuck and Dragon were fighting on the outside of the ring.  El Dragon hopped up on the ring and dropkicked Starbuck.  Starbuck barely made it back in before the 10 count.  Both teams continued to battle (and lots of tagging in/out) and it wasn’t until Buzz caught Tornado en Fuego with the Buzzkill (Insuguri) that they got their win.  (14 min)  After the match, the Ascension hit the ring and tried to attack the Steel Curtain but SC and the Flyers teamed together and dispatched the Ascension.  The Flyers and Steel Curtain shook hands and celebrated in the ring before departing. 

As expected, Bobby Lashley did accept the match so that will be happening tonight.

The next match begins with the Canadians (The Savior and Drew, the Canadian Love Machine) make their way out to a pop from the crowd.  It gets cut off when US Champion Phat Sol and North American Champion Kevin Owens make their way out.  Phat has a mic and he says that the Canadians are invading the US and must be stopped.  Huh?  Whatever.  The champs head to the ring and the match begins.  The first 3 minutes of the match were rough for the Canadians but they eventually found their groove and started owning the champs.  At one point, the Savior and Kevin Owens were fighting on the outside of the ring and as the ref neared the 10 count it seemed that the match would end up in a double countout.  Phat came to his partners aid after dropping the Savior with a chair shot.  Drew, on the inside of the ring insisted Phat be disqualified but the ref didn’t see it as he was busy trying to send Drew back to his corner.  Kevin recovered enough to deliver an Apron bomb from the ring to the floor.  SPLAT!  Kevin stood over the Savior as the crowd booed loudly.  Just before the ref counted to 10, Kevin rolled back into the ring just in time.  Phat Sol and Kevin Owens win this one via countout.  Drew, not happy with the decision, attacked both men and drove them from the ring.   He then went to help his partner so seemed to be ok.  Drew scowled as he helped his partner to the back.  (6 ½ min)

In the back, the Undertaker issues a challenge to Kurt Angle for the #1 spot for the CSWA world title and that match should happen at the PPV.  We’ll wait to hear Angle’s response.

We head back to the ring for our next match, a King of the Ring qualifier with Zach Ryder taking on Kalisto.  Normally Kalisto would have been the favorite but Zach Ryder, tired of being left in the shadows, put his heart and soul into this match and it showed.  He totally dominated his challenger for the entire match and after dropping Kalisto with a swinging neckbreaker, he made the cover and got the win.  Ryder moves on in the King of the Ring tournament.  (13 min)

We go back to the interview area and Lucas Johnston calls out Dr. Red Fang and challenges him to a match at King of the Ring.  Fang walks over but a bunch of refs and shirts get in the middle.  Fang says “Yell at me again and I’ll choke you out!”  Johnston tells Fang to bring it and both almost come to blows but order is restored fairly quickly. 

Our next match begins with The Ascension w/ MJ making their way to the ring.  They are followed by their opponents from the A-Team Antonio Cesaro & Adrian Neville.  It also so happens that the Steel Curtain (Buzz and Starbuck Steel) come down and sit at ringside.  The Ascension are not happy about that.  And they showed their displeasure by taking it out on the A-Team and BOY, did they ever.  They tore through the A-Team like a hot knife through butter and even had time to jaw-jack with the Steel Curtain.  After things almost got physical, the Steel Curtain decided they’d had enough and they attacked the Ascension causing a DQ.  The Steel Curtain beat down on the Ascension while MJ trailed yelling obscenities at them.  The Ascension get the DQ win.  (22 min)

We go to the back and Alberto Del Rio sees the card line up and questions why he’s not in the main event.  GM Max McGillicutty tells him that IC Champ Sonic Blade gets that honor tonight.  Del Rio walks away shaking his head.        

We return to the action with 6 man tag team action.  The Shield vs the X-Factor for placement in the Tag Team top 10.  Right off the bat, all 3 men were in the ring and Enforcer member Mark Henry walks down and pulls AJ off the apron and he hits his head on the stairs and was out cold.   Henry then left (the ref apparently never saw anything).  This left Aries and Daniels on their own but they wouldn’t let Daniels in the ring.  The Shield kept Aries sequestered and Daniels got tired of waiting so he grabbed a chair on his own and he got disqualified.  The Shield then got beat by Daniels swinging the chair and he chased them from the ring.  Medics came out to take AJ to the back.  (4 ½ min)

In the interview area, IC Champ Sonic Blade says he’s ready for his title defense.  He knows that he needs to stay atop his game as the best in the business are gunning for him.

It’s time for our second to last match of the night.  A-Team leader Alberto Del Rio comes out first still mumbling that he should be in the main event.  His challenger Bobby Lashley comes out.  This match is for Bobby’s spot in the World title rankings.  Alberto tried for some cheap shots on Lashley but Bobby just didn’t allow it.  When he realized he wasn’t going to get ahead by cheating, he walked out of the match.  Bobby retains his spot for the World title by countout.  (5 min)

Kurt Angle is in the back and he has a reply for the Undertaker:  Yes, I’ll accept your challenge and I will be victorious.  It’s True, its DAMN True.”

Elsewhere in the back, CJ says that carrying the Hardcore title was in the plans however plans change and he is now putting all his focus and efforts into the King of the Ring tournament.  No excuses, new priorities.  The PornStache can have his fun in the sun…for now.

It’s time for our Main Event with the Intercontinental title on the line.  The Champ Sonic Blade defends the title against Ethan Carter III.  GM Max McGillicutty comes out and says that he’s not going to allow this one (like the last few matches) to end in a DQ or countout.  He wants to see a winner so he allows this match to be best of 3 falls with a 60 minute time limit.  The match was pretty even and after Ethan missed a clothesline, Sonic locked in a reverse cradle and got the 1-2-3 at the 11 minute mark.  The champ got the first fall.  ECIII comes back with a vengeance and takes the match to the champ.  Ethan stuns the champ with a belly to back suplex and with his feet on the ropes, secures the next fall at the 13 minute mark.   The champ battled back with intensity but ECIII took many shortcuts.  Ethan dropped the champ again with a belly to back suplex and then took a handful of tights and feet on the bottom rope, he got the 1-2-3.  Ethan Carter III has just become the NEW Intercontinental Champion.  Sonic Blade is beside himself.  He tried to point out the illegal maneuver to the ref but it fell on deaf ears.  GM Max comes back out and congratulates Ethan on his win and tells him that he will have to defend the belt in a rematch with Sonic Blade at King of the Ring.  Sonic smiles as he leaves the ring and Ethan is left in the ring throwing a tantrum as the show comes to an end.
