Hello wrestling fans and welcome back to another installment of the HCW Wrestling Newsletter.

Mike “the Voice” Johnson:
“Ladies and gentlemen, we are live and the new era of HCW rolls on right here on Live Wire!”

Johnny “the Hammer” Harris:
“And what a night we’ve got lined up for you, Mike! Returns, debuts, and gold on the line—it doesn’t get much bigger than this!”

Mike “the Voice” Johnson:
“That’s right—tonight, Duke Knight makes his long-awaited return to the ring, and in our main event, Jett Sterling defends the United States Championship against the always dangerous Rafael Sandoval!”

Johnny “the Hammer” Harris:
“And let’s not forget the name everyone’s been talking about all week… Iosef Koloff.”

Mike “the Voice” Johnson:
“A man with a legendary lineage—and a reputation that’s already sending shockwaves through HCW before he’s even fully arrived.”

Johnny “the Hammer” Harris:
“I’ve seen power before, Mike… but this guy? He doesn’t look at opponents like competition—he looks at them like investments.”

Mike “the Voice” Johnson:
“We’ll find out exactly what that means later tonight. Plus, a Proving Grounds match kicks us off as Avery St. Claire makes her debut under the watchful eye of Coach Randall.”

Johnny “the Hammer” Harris:
“That coach is intense, Mike. I wouldn’t want to be on his bad side—and tonight, we find out if Avery can live up to his expectations!”

Mike “the Voice” Johnson:
“Strap in, folks—Live Wire starts right now!”

Proving Grounds Entrances

The camera returns to the arena as the crowd settles in for the opening contest.

Mike “the Voice” Johnson:
“And we are ready to kick things off here on Live Wire with a Proving Grounds match—Avery St. Claire makes her debut tonight!”

Johnny “the Hammer” Harris:
“And she’s stepping in there with Leslie Grimes, Mike—a woman who loves to make a statement at someone else’s expense.”

Leslie Grimes strides out with a smug expression, soaking in the mixed reaction from the crowd. She pauses at the top of the ramp, tilts her head slightly, and smirks as if she already knows how this is going to end.

Tony Calibur:
“Ladies and gentlemen, this opening contest is scheduled for one fall! Introducing first… Leslie Grimes!”

Leslie makes her way down the ramp with deliberate confidence, jawing at a few fans along the way before sliding into the ring. She takes a slow walk across the canvas, rolling her shoulders and staring down the entrance ramp, ready to dissect her opponent.

Mike “the Voice” Johnson:
“Leslie Grimes is as confident as they come—but that confidence can quickly turn into arrogance.”

Johnny “the Hammer” Harris:
“And tonight she gets a debuting opponent? Oh, she’s licking her chops, Mike.”

A brief pause.

Then—

The crowd responds with curiosity as Avery St. Claire steps out onto the stage—focused, composed, but clearly taking in the moment. Just behind her, Coach Randall follows immediately, already speaking to her, pointing toward the ring, giving instructions before they even begin the walk.

Tony Calibur:
“And her opponent… accompanied by Coach Randall… making her Proving Grounds debut… Avery St. Claire!”

Avery nods as Coach Randall continues coaching—hand gestures, quick corrections, emphasizing positioning and awareness. Avery keeps her eyes forward, absorbing every word while maintaining her composure.

Mike “the Voice” Johnson:
“This is a big moment for Avery St. Claire—and you can already see Coach Randall treating this like a high-level training session.”

Johnny “the Hammer” Harris:
“Yeah, he’s not here to clap and smile, Mike—he expects results, and he expects them right now.”

Avery reaches the ring, takes a breath, and steps onto the apron. Coach Randall gives one final set of instructions before she enters between the ropes.

Leslie Grimes leans back in the corner, arms draped over the top rope, smirking—unimpressed.

Avery steps into the center of the ring, eyes locked forward.

The official steps in between them—

And we’re ready to begin.

The bell sounds and Leslie Grimes wastes no time asserting herself, stepping right into Avery St. Claire with a stiff running clothesline that immediately puts the debuting rookie on the defensive.

Mike “the Voice” Johnson:
“Welcome to HCW, Avery St. Claire—Leslie Grimes wasting no time making this a very physical introduction!”

Leslie keeps the pressure on early, mixing power with quick transitions, but Avery begins to settle in, countering with a rolling fireman’s carry to create space. The moment is brief, as Leslie fires right back with another hard strike, refusing to let Avery build momentum.

Coach Randall is relentless at ringside—calling out positioning, demanding quicker reactions, correcting every movement in real time.

Avery starts to find her rhythm midway through the match, driving Leslie down with a sitout powerbomb, followed by a pop-up Samoan drop that gets the crowd to their feet.

Johnny “the Hammer” Harris:
“Now that’s what I’m talking about! Avery’s starting to figure this out!”

Leslie responds with her own offense, including a sharp moonsault and a relentless series of strikes, nearly putting Avery away with an early pin attempt—but Avery kicks out at two.

The pace intensifies as both competitors begin trading control. Avery locks in a cobra clutch, then transitions into a bridging back rack, showing impressive technical ability for someone in her debut.

Mike “the Voice” Johnson:
“Avery St. Claire is proving she belongs in there—what a performance!”

Late in the match, Avery goes for broke—launching into her Prettiest Moonsault Ever—but Leslie manages to reverse the momentum, dragging the match back into her control.

Coach Randall grows more aggressive at ringside, attempting to influence the match with subtle interference and constant direction, but even with the advantage, Avery can’t quite put Leslie away.

Avery surges one last time—another bridging back rack, then a quick pin attempt—

ONE… TWO—NO!

Leslie kicks out!

Johnny “the Hammer” Harris:
“She was right there, Mike! That was it!”

The closing moments become frantic. Avery looks to lock in control again, but Leslie counters, catches her off-balance—

And explodes into a moonsault.

ONE… TWO… THREE!

Tony Calibur:
“Here is your winner… Leslie Grimes!”

Leslie Grimes rolls off Avery with a satisfied smirk, rising to her feet and brushing her hands together as if she’s just taken care of business. She throws a dismissive glance back at Avery before exiting the ring.

Avery St. Claire remains on the mat, breathing heavily, frustration written across her face. She slowly pushes herself up, shaking her head.

At ringside, Coach Randall is already pacing.

No applause.
No encouragement.

Just correction.

He pulls Avery up and immediately begins breaking things down.

Coach Randall (firm, focused):
“You had her. Twice. You hesitated.”

Avery nods, clearly frustrated—but listening.

Coach Randall:
“You don’t get those chances back.”

Max McGillicutty’s music hits

The crowd reacts as Max steps onto the stage, microphone in hand.

Mike “the Voice” Johnson:
“And here comes the General Manager—Max McGillicutty!”

Max walks down the ramp and steps into the ring, standing between Avery and Coach Randall.

Max McGillicutty:
“Avery… stay right there.”

Avery straightens, still catching her breath.

Max McGillicutty:
“You didn’t win tonight.”

A murmur ripples through the crowd. Coach Randall nods slightly.

Max McGillicutty:
“And in Proving Grounds… that matters.”

He pauses… then steps closer.

Max McGillicutty:
“But what matters more… is whether you belong in this ring.”

The crowd begins to shift.

Max McGillicutty:
“I watched you take everything Leslie Grimes threw at you… and keep getting back up.”

He gestures toward the ropes.

Max McGillicutty:
“I watched you adjust. I watched you fight. And I watched you come within inches… of winning your very first match in HCW.”

Avery looks up, focused.

Max McGillicutty:
“That’s not someone who got lucky.”

Beat.

Max McGillicutty:
“That’s someone who belongs.”

Crowd pops.

Max McGillicutty:
“So let me make this official…”

He points directly at her.

Max McGillicutty:
“Avery St. Claire… welcome to the HCW roster.”

Avery exhales, nodding—relief, but not celebration.

Coach Randall steps beside her.

No smile.

Coach Randall (low, intense):
“This just means the real work starts now.”

Avery nods again—more focused than ever.

Mike “the Voice” Johnson:
“A tremendous showing from Avery St. Claire—she didn’t win the match, but she has earned her place here in HCW!”

Johnny “the Hammer” Harris:
“And if this is what she looks like tonight, Mike… I think we’re going to be talking about her for a long time!”

Avery stands in the ring—

Not celebrating.

Preparing.

The camera cuts to the backstage area where Candace Hart stands ready, microphone in hand. Beside her is Jax Brenner, pacing slightly, rolling his shoulders, eyes intense and focused.

Candace Hart:
“Jax, we’ve heard from Colonel Flagg in recent weeks, but tonight you’re here—what’s your response?”

Jax stops pacing. He turns slowly toward Candace, jaw tight, eyes locked in.

Jax Brenner:
“Response?”

He lets the word hang for a moment.

Jax Brenner:
“I don’t do talking, Candace. I do finishing.”

He takes a step closer, voice low and controlled.

Jax Brenner:
“Flagg’s been running his mouth… hiding behind whatever nonsense he believes this week…”

A slight shake of his head.

Jax Brenner:
“But sooner or later… he’s gonna have to stand in front of me.”

Candace Hart:
“You’re saying you’re ready—”

Jax Brenner (cutting her off):
“I’ve been ready.”

A beat.

Jax Brenner:
“He just hasn’t been brave enough.”

Jax stares past the camera for a moment… then brushes past Candace without another word, walking down the hallway with purpose.

Candace watches him go, slightly taken aback.

The camera lingers for just a second—

Before cutting away.

Mike “the Voice” Johnson:
“Strong words from Jax Brenner—he’s not interested in talking anymore, he wants Colonel Flagg face-to-face.”

Johnny “the Hammer” Harris:
“And I don’t know if Flagg fully understands what he’s asking for, Mike. Jax isn’t playing games—he’s looking to end this.”

Mike “the Voice” Johnson:
“Well, that situation continues to escalate—but right now, we shift our focus back to the ring.”

The crowd responds immediately as Phoenix Blaze bursts onto the stage, full of energy. She throws her arms wide, feeding off the reaction before making her way down the ramp with quick, confident strides.

Mike “the Voice” Johnson:
“Here comes Phoenix Blaze—one of the most exciting competitors in the women’s division today!”

Johnny “the Hammer” Harris:
“You want energy? You want speed? That’s Phoenix Blaze all day—but she’s going to need more than that tonight.”

Phoenix slides into the ring and pops up to her feet, pacing with intensity as she waits for her opponent.

The tone shifts instantly.

Lavender Gooms steps out slowly, her expression unreadable—somewhere between amused and calculating. She tilts her head slightly, almost studying the crowd before beginning her walk to the ring.

Mike “the Voice” Johnson:
“And here comes Lavender Gooms—unpredictable, unorthodox, and always dangerous.”

Johnny “the Hammer” Harris:
“That’s the key word, Mike—unpredictable. You never know what she’s going to do, and that makes her a problem for anyone.”

Lavender reaches the ring and pauses at the apron, smirking as she looks at Phoenix. She steps through the ropes, never breaking eye contact.

Phoenix stands ready.

Lavender smiles.

The referee steps in—

And we’re set for the next match.

The bell rings and Phoenix Blaze comes out fast, immediately taking control with a powerful fallaway slam that sends Lavender Gooms rolling across the ring.

Mike “the Voice” Johnson:
“Phoenix Blaze wasting no time—she’s setting the tone early!”

Phoenix stays on the attack, following up with a quick burst of offense, including a crisp Eclipse that forces Lavender to absorb heavy punishment in the opening moments.

Lavender, however, begins to shift the pace. Using her unpredictable style, she counters with a sudden electric chair drop, then follows up with a press and slam, slowing Phoenix down and bringing the match back to even ground.

Johnny “the Hammer” Harris:
“That’s where Lavender Gooms is dangerous—you think you’ve got her figured out, and then she flips the whole thing on you!”

Phoenix regains momentum with a sharp reversal into another Eclipse, nearly putting Lavender away with a quick pin attempt—but Lavender kicks out, keeping herself alive in the match.

The pace continues to swing as Lavender leans into her erratic offense, using quick arm drags and transitions to keep Phoenix guessing. She even locks in The Lavender Lock, trying to force a submission, but Phoenix fights through it with strikes to break free.

Mike “the Voice” Johnson:
“Great resilience from Phoenix Blaze—she’s not letting Lavender dictate this match!”

With the match hanging in the balance, Phoenix begins to take control once again, countering Lavender’s unpredictability with precision. She drives Lavender to the mat and quickly transitions—

Locking in the Hussy Lock.

Lavender struggles… reaches… tries to twist free—

But she has nowhere to go.

She taps out.

Tony Calibur:
“Here is your winner by submission… Phoenix Blaze!”

Phoenix releases the hold and rises to her feet, the crowd responding to the impressive victory. Lavender rolls to the outside, frustrated and regrouping after being forced to submit.

Mike “the Voice” Johnson:
“An impressive showing from Phoenix Blaze—she weathered the storm and locked in that Hussy Lock for the win!”

Johnny “the Hammer” Harris:
“Yeah, Lavender threw everything at her, but Phoenix stayed composed—and that’s what got it done!”

Phoenix stands tall in the ring, nodding to the crowd as she builds momentum in the women’s division.

VIDEO PACKAGE — “THE OLIGARCH: IOSEF KOLOFF”

A person in a suit

AI-generated content may be incorrect.

The screen fades to black.

A low, industrial hum builds in the arena.

Then—

Grainy footage flickers onto the screen.

A dim, reinforced gym. Concrete walls. Rusted chains. Heavy bags swinging.

A young Iosef Koloff stands in the center.

He throws a strike.

Again.

Again.

His knuckles bloodied.

Cut—

Nikita Koloff looms over him, barking commands. Driving him forward.

Cut—

Ivan Koloff stands silently in the background. Watching. Judging.

Iosef Koloff (voiceover):
“My great-uncle taught me how to break a man’s spirit…”

A brutal forearm strike echoes.

Iosef Koloff:
“My father taught me how to break his body…”

The bag splits open.

Sand spills onto the floor.

Cut—

Silence.

The tone shifts.

Glass towers pierce the skyline.

A black SUV door opens.

Iosef steps out—now older, composed, dressed in a tailored coat. No emotion. No wasted movement.

Boardrooms.

Contracts.

Handshakes.

Cold eyes across polished tables.

Iosef Koloff:
“They fought for flags… for pride… for legacy.”

He adjusts his cufflinks.

Iosef Koloff:
“I fight for control.”

Quick cuts:

  • A private jet door closing
  • Security opening doors
  • A long hallway—empty except for him

Now—

A wrestling ring.

Empty.

Spotlight overhead.

Iosef stands inside it… alone.

Looking down at the mat.

Iosef Koloff:
“This… is not competition.”

He kneels. Runs his hand across the canvas.

Iosef Koloff:
“This is acquisition.”

He stands.

Looks directly into the camera.

Iosef Koloff:
“My great-uncle broke their spirits.”

A flash of Ivan.

Iosef Koloff:
“My father broke their bodies.”

A flash of Nikita.

He steps closer.

Iosef Koloff (cold, final):
“I buy their futures…”

A beat.

Iosef Koloff:
“…and then I liquidate them.”

The screen cuts to black.

Mike “the Voice” Johnson:
“I don’t even know what to say after that… that wasn’t a wrestler’s story—that was something else entirely.”

Johnny “the Hammer” Harris:
“Yeah, and that’s the problem, Mike. This guy doesn’t see opponents… he sees assets. And when he steps into that ring, he’s not trying to win—he’s trying to take something from you.”

Mike “the Voice” Johnson:
“Well, we’re about to find out exactly what that looks like—because Iosef Koloff is in action… next.”

The arena lights return as the crowd buzzes following the chilling video package.

Burley Barkley steps out to a solid reaction from the crowd, clapping his hands together and nodding with confidence as he heads down the ramp.

Mike “the Voice” Johnson:
“And here comes Burley Barkley—he’s got his work cut out for him tonight, but you know he’s not backing down.”

Johnny “the Hammer” Harris:
“Yeah, but after what we just saw, Mike… I don’t know if Burley knows what he’s walking into.”

Burley slaps hands with a few fans at ringside before stepping up onto the apron. He takes a moment, looking around the arena, then steps through the ropes and paces with energy, trying to stay loose and ready.

He turns toward the entrance—

Waiting.

A pause.

The lights dim slightly.

The reaction is immediate—uneasy, mixed, uncertain.

Iosef Koloff steps out slowly, dressed in a long, tailored coat. No emotion. No theatrics. Just presence.

Behind him, two suited security men follow at a distance, stopping at the stage as Iosef begins his walk alone.

Mike “the Voice” Johnson:
“There he is… Iosef Koloff. And after that video package, I don’t think anyone in this arena quite knows what to expect.”

Johnny “the Hammer” Harris:
“I think we do, Mike—and I don’t think we’re going to like it.”

Iosef walks down the ramp at a measured pace, eyes locked on the ring—not on the crowd, not on Burley—just the ring.

He reaches ringside and pauses.

Slowly… deliberately… he places a hand on the apron.

Almost inspecting it.

Then steps up and enters through the ropes without urgency.

Burley watches him carefully from across the ring, bouncing lightly, trying to stay ready—but there’s a noticeable shift in the air.

Iosef removes his coat, handing it off without looking, then turns—

And finally locks eyes with his opponent.

No expression.

No acknowledgment.

The referee steps between them.

The tension is thick.

And we are ready.

The bell rings—and for a brief moment, the two men circle.

Then Iosef Koloff steps forward… and drives a brutal face stomp straight into Burley Barkley, immediately taking control.

Mike “the Voice” Johnson:
“Right out of the gate—no hesitation from Koloff!”

Koloff doesn’t rush. He doesn’t react. He simply continues—locking in a jaw clutch, grinding Burley down with a cold, deliberate pace.

Burley fights back, muscling his way into a side chinlock, then shifting momentum with a powerful avalanche and a back body drop, drawing energy from the crowd.

Johnny “the Hammer” Harris:
“Give Burley credit—he’s not backing down here!”

Burley presses the advantage, hitting a towering suplex and going for a cover—

ONE… TWO—NO!

Koloff kicks out.

But even in the kickout… there’s no urgency.

No emotion.

He simply rises.

And then—

Koloff changes gears.

A sudden Hostile Takeover crashes Burley into the mat, shifting the entire tone of the match.

Mike “the Voice” Johnson:
“There it is—the Hostile Takeover! And just like that, Koloff takes control again!”

From there, it becomes something else entirely.

Koloff slows everything down.

Forearms. Knee lifts. Pressure holds.

Every strike feels calculated.

Every movement intentional.

Burley tries to rally again—another Kin Folk Drop, another attempt to build momentum—but Koloff absorbs it, counters, and keeps pressing forward without breaking rhythm.

Johnny “the Hammer” Harris:
“This isn’t a fight anymore, Mike—this is control.”

Koloff delivers another Hostile Takeover, then stalks Burley as he struggles to get back to his feet.

No rush.

No wasted motion.

Just inevitability.

Burley swings—

Koloff counters—

Drives a crushing knee lift into him.

And hooks the leg.

ONE… TWO… THREE!

Tony Calibur:
“Here is your winner… Iosef Koloff!”

Koloff releases the pin and rises slowly.

No celebration.

No reaction.

He looks down at Burley Barkley… not with anger—

But with evaluation.

Mike “the Voice” Johnson:
“A dominant and unsettling performance from Iosef Koloff here tonight!”

Johnny “the Hammer” Harris:
“I told you, Mike—he’s not here to win matches… he’s here to take something from people. And tonight? He just took everything from Burley Barkley.”

Koloff steps over Burley and exits the ring without looking back.

No acknowledgment of the crowd.

No acknowledgment of the moment.

Only forward.

Only purpose.

And as he walks up the ramp—

It’s clear.

He didn’t just win.

He made a statement.

BACKSTAGE

The camera cuts backstage as Truth Wayne strolls through the hallway, adjusting his jacket, a smug grin already on his face.

A cartoon of a person holding a microphone

AI-generated content may be incorrect.

Truth Wayne (walking, smirking):
“Now I’ve seen a lot in HCW… monsters, maniacs, legends… but this Koloff guy?”

He lets out a low whistle.

Truth Wayne:
“Oh, he’s different. He doesn’t want to beat you… he wants to own you.”

Truth chuckles to himself as he keeps walking—

Then suddenly stops.

Just ahead—

Mr. X is making his way toward the curtain.

Truth’s entire demeanor shifts instantly.

Truth Wayne (straightening up, tone changing):
“Well now… look at this.”

He steps in beside Mr. X, careful not to get in his way.

Truth Wayne:
“One of HCW’s most… formidable competitors.”

Mr. X doesn’t acknowledge him.

Doesn’t even look at him.

Truth nods anyway.

Leaning in just slightly.

Truth Wayne (lower voice):
“Got a big one tonight… I’d say good luck, but… let’s be honest—you don’t need it.”

Mr. X stops for half a second.

Not turning.

Not reacting.

Just standing there.

Then continues walking.

Truth watches him go… still nodding.

Truth Wayne (turning back to camera, smirk returning):
“You see? That’s what I’m talking about right there.”

He gestures down the hallway.

Truth Wayne:
“Problem is… when someone like Koloff starts buying everything…”

He leans in toward the camera.

Truth Wayne (quiet, sharp):
“…eventually, they come for something that ain’t for sale.”

He chuckles under his breath and walks off in the opposite direction.

The camera lingers for a moment—

Then cuts to black.

The camera returns to the arena as the crowd buzzes following the backstage interaction.

The lights dim slightly as Mr. X steps onto the stage, his presence cold and deliberate. He pauses for just a moment—head slightly lowered—before beginning his walk to the ring.

Mike “the Voice” Johnson:
“Here comes Mr. X—and after what we just saw backstage, you have to wonder what’s going through his mind right now.”

Johnny “the Hammer” Harris:
“I don’t think anything’s going through his mind, Mike—and that’s what makes him dangerous.”

Mr. X walks straight down the ramp without acknowledging the crowd, his focus locked entirely ahead. He steps up onto the apron and enters through the ropes with precision, moving to the center of the ring and standing still—waiting.

The mood shifts as the crowd responds warmly.

O.P. Cunningham steps out with a smile, giving a wave and tipping his cap as he makes his way onto the stage.

Mike “the Voice” Johnson:
“And here comes O.P. Cunningham, from Mayberry, North Carolina—always bringing heart into that ring!”

Johnny “the Hammer” Harris:
“And he’s going to need every bit of that heart tonight, Mike.”

O.P. makes his way down the ramp, greeting fans along the way before stepping up onto the apron. He takes a moment, looking out at the crowd, then steps through the ropes.

He turns—

And sees Mr. X standing motionless in the center of the ring.

The smile fades just slightly.

O.P. adjusts his stance, nodding once.

Mr. X doesn’t move.

The referee steps in between them.

The crowd settles in.

And we are ready to begin.

The bell rings and the two lock up immediately, neither man giving an inch as power meets precision. O.P. Cunningham comes out strong early, launching Mr. X with a belly-to-belly suplex and following up with a scoop slam that gets the crowd behind him.

Mike “the Voice” Johnson:
“O.P. Cunningham bringing that Mayberry strength right out of the gate!”

Mr. X responds quickly, shifting the tempo with a Sugar Cane Sleeper, slowing the pace and forcing O.P. to fight from underneath. From there, the match becomes a back-and-forth battle—O.P. using his power to regain control with suplexes and slams, while Mr. X counters with strikes and sudden bursts of offense.

Johnny “the Hammer” Harris:
“This is turning into a war, Mike—neither one of these guys can keep control for long!”

As the match wears on, Mr. X begins targeting O.P. with precision—chops, kicks, and calculated holds—while O.P. refuses to stay down, repeatedly powering back with moves like the exploder suplex and a falling powerslam that nearly turns the tide.

O.P. presses the advantage late, driving Mr. X into the mat and going for a comeback—but Mr. X counters, slipping out and landing a sharp series of strikes to halt the momentum.

Mike “the Voice” Johnson:
“O.P. Cunningham has been in this fight every step of the way!”

Johnny “the Hammer” Harris:
“Yeah, but Mr. X is starting to pick his spots—and that’s when he’s at his most dangerous!”

The final stretch becomes frantic.

Both men are worn down.

Both are digging deep.

Mr. X fires off a sudden burst—dropkicks that catch O.P. square and send him crashing to the mat.

Mr. X doesn’t waste a second.

He dives into the cover—

ONE…

TWO…

O.P. tries to kick out…

THREE!

Tony Calibur:
“Here is your winner… Mr. X!”

Mike “the Voice” Johnson:
“He got him! Mr. X steals it at the very last second!”

Johnny “the Hammer” Harris:
“I don’t even think O.P. realized how close that was—Mr. X waited for the perfect moment and took it!”

Mr. X rises to his feet, composed as ever, offering no reaction to the crowd. He glances down briefly at O.P. Cunningham—still trying to gather himself—before turning and exiting the ring without a word.

Mike “the Voice” Johnson:
“A hard-fought effort from O.P. Cunningham, but in the end, it’s Mr. X who walks away with the victory!”

Mr. X heads up the ramp, cold and methodical—

Another calculated win in the books.

BACKSTAGE

The camera cuts backstage to Candace Hart, standing beside Duke Knight, who is already in ring gear, loosening his shoulders and rolling his neck, focused and composed.

Candace Hart:
“Duke, tonight marks your return after a short hiatus—how are you feeling heading back into the ring?”

Duke pauses for a moment, looking straight ahead before turning slightly toward Candace.

Duke Knight:
“I’m not here for a moment, Candace.”

A beat.

Duke Knight:
“I’m here to get back to where I belong.”

He adjusts his wrist tape, calm but locked in.

Duke Knight:
“Injury slowed me down… but it didn’t stop me.”

Candace Hart:
“And facing Otto Ruthless—”

Duke Knight (cutting in, steady):
“Good.”

He nods once.

Duke Knight:
“If I’m coming back… I want it to be against someone who’s going to test me.”

Duke takes a step forward, then stops just briefly.

He looks past the camera—toward the direction of the entrance.

No hesitation.

He nods again—

And walks off toward gorilla.

Candace watches him go, then turns back to the camera.

Candace Hart:
“Duke Knight returns to action… next.”

The camera fades out.

The crowd erupts.

Duke Knight steps out onto the stage—and the reaction grows even louder. He pauses for just a moment, taking it in, nodding to the fans as they welcome him back.

Mike “the Voice” Johnson:
“Listen to this ovation! Duke Knight has returned to HCW!”

Johnny “the Hammer” Harris:
“You don’t get reactions like that unless people have been waiting for you, Mike—and they’ve been waiting for Duke!”

Duke makes his way down the ramp with purpose, slapping hands with fans along the barricade but never losing focus. There’s emotion in the moment—but also determination.

He reaches the ring, steps onto the apron, and looks out over the crowd one more time before entering through the ropes.

Once inside, the smile fades slightly.

Now it’s business.

The mood shifts immediately.

Otto Ruthless steps out slowly, his expression cold and focused. No reaction to the crowd—no acknowledgment—just a steady, deliberate walk to the ring.

Mike “the Voice” Johnson:
“And here comes Otto Ruthless—a dangerous opponent for anyone, let alone someone returning from injury.”

Johnny “the Hammer” Harris:
“Otto doesn’t care about comebacks, Mike. He doesn’t care about moments. He cares about one thing—breaking people.”

Otto makes his way down the ramp, eyes locked on Duke the entire time. He climbs onto the apron and steps through the ropes, never breaking that stare.

Duke stands across the ring.

The crowd buzzes.

Otto cracks his neck slowly.

Duke steps forward.

The referee moves between them.

The atmosphere tightens—

And we are ready to begin.

The bell sounds—

But Otto Ruthless doesn’t wait.

He charges.

The two collide immediately, trading heavy shots in the center of the ring before Otto quickly gains control and drives Duke backward through the ropes—

Both men spill to the outside.

Mike “the Voice” Johnson:
“Right to the floor! Otto Ruthless wasting no time taking this fight outside!”

Otto grabs Duke by the arm and whips him hard into the steel ring post—BACK FIRST.

A sickening thud echoes.

Duke collapses to a knee.

Johnny “the Hammer” Harris:
“Oh no… that’s exactly where you don’t want to be if you’re Duke Knight—right into that spine!”

Otto doesn’t let up.

He drags Duke back up—

And drives him into the post again.

And again.

Each impact more punishing than the last.

Duke tries to fight back, throwing a weak forearm—but Otto cuts him off instantly, grabbing him and slamming his back against the steel one more time before letting him drop to the floor.

Mike “the Voice” Johnson:
“This is brutal! Duke Knight just returned and Otto Ruthless is targeting that back mercilessly!”

The referee, “Honest” Abe, begins the count.

ONE… TWO… THREE…

Otto stands over Duke, watching… calculating… waiting.

FOUR… FIVE… SIX…

He finally grabs Duke, lifelessly pulling him up and rolling him back into the ring just before the count gets too high.

Otto slides in after him.

No rush.

No panic.

Duke tries to push himself up—

But Otto is already there.

He grabs Duke’s legs.

Turns him over.

And steps through—

Locking in the Yukon Cloverleaf.

Duke screams in pain, his back already damaged from the repeated shots to the post.

He tries to crawl—

Tries to fight—

But there’s nowhere to go.

Mike “the Voice” Johnson:
“He’s got it locked in! Right to the lower back—after everything Duke just took on the outside!”

Johnny “the Hammer” Harris:
“There’s no way out of this, Mike! His back is already done!”

Duke reaches…

Strains…

And then—

He taps out.

Tony Calibur:
“Here is your winner by submission… Otto Ruthless!”

Otto holds the Cloverleaf for a moment longer before finally releasing it and stepping away.

Duke rolls onto his side, clutching his back, clearly in pain after a devastating return.

Mike “the Voice” Johnson:
“A crushing result for Duke Knight in his return—Otto Ruthless dismantled him from the moment that bell rang!”

Johnny “the Hammer” Harris:
“I told you—Otto doesn’t care about moments. He saw an opening, he attacked the weakness, and he ended it fast!”

Otto stands over Duke briefly, staring down at him—

Then turns and exits the ring without another look back.

In the ring—

Duke Knight struggles to sit up.

His return…

Cut short.

The arena lights flicker—

A harsh burst of static blasts through the speakers as the Omegatron cuts in unexpectedly.

Mike “the Voice” Johnson:
“What the—? Not again!”

The screen stabilizes just enough to reveal Col. Samuel Flagg, the image distorted, jittering, like a corrupted transmission.

Col. Samuel Flagg:
“You think this is about a match, Brenner?”

He shakes his head rapidly.

Col. Samuel Flagg:
“No… no, no, no.”

The static intensifies for a split second before clearing again.

Col. Samuel Flagg:
“This is about infiltration. I’ve seen it before.”

He leans closer into the camera, eyes wide, unblinking.

Col. Samuel Flagg:
“You’re not just a man… you’re part of something bigger.”

A low hum creeps into the audio feed.

Flagg tilts his head slightly—

Almost smiling.

Col. Samuel Flagg (quiet, intense):
“And I’m the only one who can stop it.”

The screen glitches violently—

And cuts to black.

Johnny “the Hammer” Harris:
“This guy is completely legit!”

Mike “the Voice” Johnson:
“Whatever is going on in the mind of Colonel Flagg, it continues to escalate—and Jax Brenner has to be watching this very closely.”

BACKSTAGE

The camera cuts backstage where Candace Hart stands with Jett Sterling, the United States Championship draped perfectly over his shoulder.

Jett stands relaxed—confident—completely in control.

Candace Hart:
“Jett, moments away from your United States Championship defense—your thoughts?”

Jett smirks slightly, adjusting the title with precision.

Jett Sterling:
“My thoughts?”

He looks over briefly at the championship on his shoulder… then back.

Jett Sterling:
“Candace, this isn’t a defense—it’s a demonstration.”

He taps the center plate lightly.

Jett Sterling:
“This championship isn’t just gold… it’s value. It’s power. It’s the most important asset in HCW today.”

He shifts the title on his shoulder, making sure it sits perfectly.

Jett Sterling:
“And Rafael Sandoval?”

A slight chuckle.

Jett Sterling:
“He’s just another temporary inconvenience.”

Jett leans in just slightly—

Eyes sharp.

Jett Sterling:
“Main event…”

A beat.

Jett Sterling:
“…belongs to me.”

Jett gives one final smirk before stepping out of frame, heading toward the curtain.

Candace watches him go, then turns back to camera.

Candace Hart:
“The United States Championship is on the line… next.”

The camera returns to the arena as the crowd builds in anticipation for the main event.

The crowd responds with a strong, supportive reaction as Rafael “Rafa” Sandoval steps onto the stage. Focused and determined, Rafa pauses for a moment, looking out over the crowd before making his way down the ramp.

Mike “the Voice” Johnson:
“Here comes Rafael Sandoval—this is the opportunity of a lifetime, and you can see the focus written all over his face!”

Johnny “the Hammer” Harris:
“Yeah, but focus doesn’t win championships, Mike—execution does. And he’s going to need to be perfect tonight.”

Rafa slaps hands with fans along the way but never loses that locked-in expression. He reaches the ring, steps onto the apron, and takes a deep breath before entering through the ropes.

He moves to the corner, bouncing lightly, eyes fixed on the entrance.

The tone shifts instantly.

A chorus of boos mixes with admiration as Jett Sterling steps onto the stage—United States Championship draped perfectly over his shoulder, posture flawless, expression confident.

Mike “the Voice” Johnson:
“And here comes the champion—Jett Sterling, who earlier tonight said this isn’t a defense… it’s a demonstration.”

Johnny “the Hammer” Harris:
“And if you’ve been watching him, Mike, he might be right. Jett doesn’t just win—he makes statements.”

Jett adjusts the title as he walks, taking his time, soaking in the reaction—not for approval, but for acknowledgment.

He reaches ringside, steps up onto the apron, and enters the ring with precision.

Rafa stands across from him.

Jett doesn’t rush.

He simply stares.

Tony Calibur:
“Ladies and gentlemen, this is your main event of the evening… and it is scheduled for one fall… and it is for the HCW United States Championship!”

The crowd reacts loudly.

Tony Calibur:
“Introducing first… the challenger… from San Diego, California… weighing in at 215 pounds… RAFAEL… ‘RAFA’… SANDOVAL!”

Rafa raises a hand to the crowd, focused and ready.

Tony Calibur:
“And his opponent… from Manhattan, New York… weighing in at 222 pounds… he is the reigning… defending… HCW United States Champion… JETT… STERLING!”

Jett slowly raises the championship high, turning slightly so every side of the arena sees it.

The referee steps in and takes the title, holding it up between them.

Rafa stares at it.

Jett smirks.

The title is handed off.

Both men step forward.

The tension is thick.

And we are ready for the main event.

The bell rings and both men come out sharp, trading quick strikes and counters in the opening moments. Jett Sterling lands first with a lariat and a springboard forearm, trying to establish early control—but Rafa answers back with a sharp enzuigiri that snaps the momentum right back.

Mike “the Voice” Johnson:
“Fast start here in the main event—both men bringing everything they’ve got!”

Rafa begins to take over, using his athleticism to keep Jett off balance. A running shooting star press connects, followed by a buckle bomb that drives Jett hard into the corner.

Johnny “the Hammer” Harris:
“Rafa is all over him right now! This is not what Jett Sterling had planned!”

Rafa presses the advantage, hitting another running shooting star press and going for the cover—

ONE… TWO—NO!

Jett kicks out.

The champion scrambles, trying to slow things down, but Rafa keeps the pressure on, forcing Jett into a defensive rhythm.

Jett fires back with a Skull Crushing Finale, then transitions into a series of Three Amigos, trying to wear Rafa down methodically.

Mike “the Voice” Johnson:
“Jett Sterling now trying to dictate the pace—this is where he’s most comfortable!”

But Rafa refuses to stay down.

He counters again—Pedigree!

Then a superkick!

The crowd comes alive as Rafa senses the moment.

Johnny “the Hammer” Harris:
“He’s got him! Rafa’s got him on the ropes!”

Rafa hooks the leg—

ONE… TWO—NO!

Jett survives.

The match enters its final stretch.

Both men are exhausted.

Both are throwing everything they have left.

Rafa lands another buckle bomb, then follows with a running shooting star press

He goes for it again—

But Jett counters mid-motion, shifting momentum just enough to stay alive.

Mike “the Voice” Johnson:
“Unbelievable counter by the champion!”

The clock is becoming a factor.

The pace quickens.

Jett lands a frog splash

Rafa answers with a rolling elbow.

Both men are down.

The referee checks.

The crowd counts along—

Both slowly rise.

Final seconds.

Rafa charges—

Jett swings—

They collide.

The bell rings.

Tony Calibur:
“Ladies and gentlemen, the time limit has expired… this match is a draw!”

Johnny “the Hammer” Harris:
“A draw?! We’ve reached the time limit!”

Mike “the Voice” Johnson:
“Rafa had him, Mike! He had him! If there were a few more seconds—!”

Before the announcement even finishes—

Jett Sterling rolls out of the ring.

Grabs his United States Championship from the timekeeper—

And immediately backs up the ramp.

Fast.

No posing.

No celebration.

Mike “the Voice” Johnson:
“Look at this! Jett Sterling is getting out of here!”

Johnny “the Hammer” Harris:
“He knows exactly what just happened, Mike! That time limit saved him!”

In the ring—

Rafa stands, stunned.

Frustrated.

Knowing how close he was.

On the ramp—

Jett clutches the title tightly, breathing heavily, eyes locked on the ring—

Not confident.

Not composed.

Relieved.

Mike “the Voice” Johnson:
“Rafael Sandoval took the champion to the absolute limit tonight—and Jett Sterling knows it!”

Johnny “the Hammer” Harris:
“That wasn’t a demonstration, Mike… that was survival!”

Jett slowly backs up the ramp—

Never taking his eyes off Rafa.

The champion escapes with the title—

But not the moment.

Mike “the Voice” Johnson:
“What a night here on Live Wire! We saw the arrival of Iosef Koloff—who made a chilling statement in the ring…”

Johnny “the Hammer” Harris:
“…Duke Knight’s return cut short by the ruthless Otto—no pun intended—and how about Avery St. Claire? She didn’t win, but she proved she belongs here in HCW!”

Mike “the Voice” Johnson:
“And in our main event—Rafael Sandoval took Jett Sterling to the absolute limit!”

Johnny “the Hammer” Harris:
“And the only thing that saved the champion was the clock, Mike! Jett didn’t walk out of here looking dominant—he ran out of here looking relieved!”

Mike “the Voice” Johnson:
“The United States Champion escapes with the title, but Rafael Sandoval may have just changed the entire landscape of that division!”

Johnny “the Hammer” Harris:
“And don’t forget—whatever is going on with Jax Brenner and Colonel Flagg… that situation is only getting more dangerous by the week.”

Mike “the Voice” Johnson:
“For Johnny ‘the Hammer’ Harris, I’m Mike ‘the Voice’ Johnson—thank you for joining us for another incredible night of HCW action!”

Johnny “the Hammer” Harris:
“We’ll see you next time on Live Wire!”

The camera lingers on the ramp one last time—

Jett Sterling at the top, clutching the title…
Rafa in the ring, staring him down—

Fade to black.
