HCW SHOCKWAVE — SHOW #9

May 6, 2026
Savannah, GA — Enmarket Arena

OPENING

J.R. Holland:
“Hello wrestling fans and welcome back to another installment of the HCW Wrestling Newsletter. Tonight, we come to you from Savannah, Georgia, as Shockwave continues to define a new era here in HCW.”

C.K. Kentus:
“Define it? No, no, no—this place is searching for an identity. Because when the dust settled after Critical Mass, what we were left with… was uncertainty.”

J.R. Holland:
“Or opportunity. We’ve already seen new talent step forward, champions tested, and a locker room beginning to reshape itself.”

C.K. Kentus:
“And tonight, that reshaping might extend beyond HCW entirely.”

J.R. Holland:
“Earlier today, footage surfaced from NPCW’s Dark Fable—a direct message delivered by Mordred to the Convergent Champion, Jack Lumber.”

C.K. Kentus:
“‘Message’ is a generous word. That wasn’t a message—that was a summons.”

J.R. Holland:
“And from what we understand… Jack Lumber is here tonight.”

Crowd begins to buzz, anticipation building.

C.K. Kentus:
“Oh, I can’t wait to hear this. Because if he’s smart—he stays out of Mordred’s world.”

We don’t have to wait long.  “Steel Timber” hits.

The Savannah crowd erupts as Jack Lumber steps onto the stage, the Convergent Championship slung over his shoulder. He pauses at the top of the ramp—focused, composed—before making his way down to the ring.

J.R. Holland:
“And here he is—the Convergent Champion himself.”

C.K. Kentus:
“Yeah… walking straight into something he doesn’t understand.”

Jack enters the ring, takes a microphone from ringside, and stands center ring. The music fades, but the crowd remains loud.

He doesn’t speak right away.

He lets it breathe.

Then—

Jack Lumber:
“Mordred…”

The name alone draws a reaction.

Jack Lumber:
“I heard what you had to say.”

A pause. Calm. Measured.

Jack Lumber:
“You called it a summons.”

A slight shake of the head.

Jack Lumber:
“I don’t answer to summons.”

Crowd pop.

C.K. Kentus:
“Careful…”

Jack Lumber:
“But I do answer challenges.”

Stronger reaction now.

J.R. Holland:
“That’s the Jack Lumber we know.”

Jack Lumber:
“You said I’m carrying something that doesn’t belong to me…”

He lifts the Convergent Championship slightly, looking at it for a brief moment before turning back to the hard camera.

Jack Lumber:
“In this world… I fought for it.”

A step forward.

Jack Lumber:
“I bled for it.”

Another step.

Jack Lumber:
“And I earned it.”

Crowd cheers loudly.

Jack Lumber:
“And since we’re talking about earning things…”

A beat.

Jack Lumber:
“I saw what happened when you went after Frankenstein’s Monster.”

The crowd reacts—recognition spreading.

C.K. Kentus:
“Oh boy…”

Jack Lumber:
“You didn’t walk out with the Mythic Crown Championship.”

No smirk. No arrogance. Just fact.

Jack Lumber:
“So if you think you’re just gonna call me out of my world… and take this from me…”

He steps forward again, intensity rising just a notch.

Jack Lumber:
“You’re gonna have to do a whole lot more than stand in the dark and talk about inevitability.”

Crowd builds again.

J.R. Holland:
“Lumber refusing to be intimidated.”

Jack Lumber:
“You want me in Camelot?”

A pause.

Jack Lumber:
“Then say when.”

The crowd begins to swell.

Jack Lumber:
“Say where.”

He raises the title now.

Jack Lumber:
“And I’ll be there.”

C.K. Kentus:
“He just accepted…”

Jack Lumber:
“I’ll bring the axe…”

Crowd getting loud now.

Jack Lumber:
“And I’ll bring the title.”

He holds it high.

Jack Lumber:
“And when I do—”

A beat.

Jack Lumber:
“You’re gonna find out real quick…”

Leans slightly toward the camera.

Jack Lumber:
“…why I’m the one holding it.”

He drops the mic.

“Steel Timber” hits again as the crowd explodes.

J.R. Holland:
“Jack Lumber has answered the call—and he’s made it very clear he’s not backing down from Mordred.”

C.K. Kentus:
“No, he’s not backing down… he’s walking straight into it.”

J.R. Holland:
“And what happens when those two worlds collide… may redefine what the Convergent Championship truly represents.”

Camera holds on Jack in the ring, title raised high.

As the segment ends, the lights change and we this image, mirroring what’s happening in the ring, now shows up on the Omegatron.

The lights dim slightly as a pulsing industrial beat hits the speakers.

A burst of sparks erupts on the stage as TNT steps through the curtain—shoulders squared, jaw tight, eyes already locked on the ring. He doesn’t play to the crowd. He doesn’t acknowledge them.

He just walks.

J.R. Holland:
“TNT looking all business here tonight. An established competitor stepping into a Proving Grounds situation.”

C.K. Kentus:
“And let’s be clear—this isn’t about opportunity for him. This is about making sure the new guy doesn’t belong.”

TNT rolls his neck as he reaches ringside, then slides under the bottom rope with purpose. He pops up immediately, pacing like a caged animal, glancing toward the entrance ramp with impatience.

J.R. Holland:
“TNT has made a name for himself by being aggressive and unrelenting—this is not an easy first test for anyone.”

C.K. Kentus:
“Good. It shouldn’t be.”

TNT backs into a corner, cracking his knuckles, eyes fixed on the stage.

The arena lights shift—cool blues and sharp white beams cutting through the darkness.

A sleek, rhythmic pulse replaces the tension as Kai Zenith steps onto the stage.

He pauses.

Not out of hesitation—out of control.

He scans the arena once, taking it in, then sets his focus directly on the ring.

J.R. Holland:
“And here we go—Kai Zenith making his HCW debut tonight under the Proving Grounds banner.”

C.K. Kentus:
“Let’s see if all that calm lasts about thirty seconds once that bell rings.”

Kai begins his walk—measured, deliberate. No wasted motion. No theatrics beyond presence. The crowd begins to buzz, drawn in by the confidence.

J.R. Holland:
“There’s a composure here you don’t always see in a debut. He looks ready.”

C.K. Kentus:
“He looks untested. Big difference.”

Kai reaches ringside and takes one final look at TNT, who is now leaning forward on the ropes, practically daring him to step in.

Kai steps onto the apron, wipes his boots, and enters through the ropes smoothly.

He walks to center ring.

TNT steps up immediately—no space given.

The two stand face-to-face.

No words.

Just tension.

J.R. Holland:
“Proving Grounds or not… this feels very real, very quickly.”

C.K. Kentus:
“Good. Let’s find out if he survives.”

The referee steps between them as both men back into their corners—eyes never leaving each other.

MATCH #1 — PROVING GROUNDS

Kai Zenith vs TNT (Templeton N. Townsend)
Referee: Honest Abe

The bell rings—and Kai Zenith wastes absolutely no time.

He explodes out of his corner, catching TNT off guard with a lightning-fast takedown and immediately transitioning into a breathtaking Green Tea Plunge Running Corkscrew Shooting Star Press, crashing down with precision.

J.R. Holland:
“Wow! What a start for Kai Zenith—he’s not easing into this at all!”

C.K. Kentus:
“Yeah, yeah, flashy—but let’s see if he can keep that up!”

TNT rolls away, shaking it off, clearly irritated. Kai stays aggressive, firing off a sharp Roundhouse Kick, but this time TNT is ready—he blocks and counters, slowing the pace and forcing Kai into a more grounded exchange.

The match tightens.

Kai regains momentum, snapping another Roundhouse Kick clean across TNT’s jaw, staggering him. Without hesitation, Kai lifts him up and drives him down with a devastating Flamingo Driver Cross Leg One Hand Electric Chair Driver, planting TNT hard into the mat.

J.R. Holland:
“Kai Zenith is putting on an incredible debut performance right now!”

C.K. Kentus:
“He better finish it—because TNT is not the type to stay down!”

And right on cue—TNT fires back.

He absorbs another strike and blasts Kai with a brutal Power Uppercut, shifting the energy in the ring. Moments later, TNT muscles Kai up and slams him down with a thunderous Powerbomb, the impact echoing through the arena.

The crowd roars as momentum swings.

J.R. Holland:
“TNT turning this into a fight—this is where experience comes into play!”

C.K. Kentus:
“That’s what I’m talking about! Welcome to HCW, kid!”

Both men rise—trading strikes, neither backing down. Kai fires a Buzzsaw Kick—TNT answers with another crushing Powerbomb.

Both men hit the mat.

TNT scrambles—hooks the leg!

But—

Kai twists—reverses the pin!

The crowd surges.

Kai rolls through—hooks TNT’s shoulders down!

J.R. Holland:
“He’s got him—he’s got him!”

1… 2… 3!

RESULT:  Kai Zenith defeats TNT via pinfall (reversal sequence following Buzzsaw Kick)

Kai releases the hold and sits up, breathing heavy—but composed.

The crowd begins to rally behind him.

J.R. Holland:
“What a debut for Kai Zenith—composure, athleticism, and the ability to capitalize in a critical moment!”

C.K. Kentus:
“…I’ll give him this—he survived. Barely.”

Kai rises to his feet as the referee raises his hand. TNT rolls to the outside, frustrated, slamming his fist against the apron before backing away.

In the ring, Kai takes one more look around the arena—focused, steady.

Not celebrating wildly.

Just taking it in.

J.R. Holland:
“Proving Grounds is about opportunity—and tonight, Kai Zenith made the most of his.”

C.K. Kentus:
“Yeah… but now the real question is—what happens when he’s not the unknown anymore?”

Camera lingers on Kai as Shockwave moves forward.

An upbeat, high-energy rock track hits as the crowd responds with a solid cheer.

Chloe Parker bursts onto the stage first—confident, bouncing on her toes, feeding off the energy. She throws a quick gesture to the crowd, hyping them up.

Right behind her, Dixie Caverns steps through the curtain with a smirk—cool, composed, a little unpredictable in her swagger.

J.R. Holland:
“Chloe Parker and Dixie Caverns—two competitors who may not always walk the same path, but tonight they’re united against a very dangerous team.”

C.K. Kentus:
“United? I call it temporary convenience. Let’s see how long that lasts once things get rough.”

Chloe jogs down the ramp, slapping hands with fans along the way, while Dixie takes a slower approach—eyes scanning the arena, soaking in the moment on her own terms.

At ringside, Chloe slides under the bottom rope with energy, popping up and immediately turning to the crowd.

Dixie steps onto the apron, pauses for just a second—then enters smoothly, leaning back into the ropes with a confident, almost amused look.

J.R. Holland:
“There’s a balance here—Chloe’s energy, Dixie’s unpredictability. If they can stay on the same page, they could be a real problem tonight.”

C.K. Kentus:
“That ‘if’ is doing a lot of heavy lifting.”

The arena suddenly goes dark—

BOOM!

Red, white, and blue pyro explodes across the stage as a wave of bombastic horns and glam-rock guitar floods the arena.

A giant American flag fills the Omegatron.

Through the smoke and light step Ainsley America and Leepurty Belle—arms raised, basking in their own spotlight like they’ve just arrived to save the nation itself.

They pause at the top of the ramp, saluting with exaggerated precision before breaking into synchronized, over-the-top waves to the crowd.

C.K. Kentus:
“Oh here we go—your ‘role models’ have arrived.”

J.R. Holland:
“They are the Iron Maidens Tag Team Champions—and like it or not, they’ve backed up every bit of that confidence.”

Ainsley gestures grandly to the crowd as if acknowledging their admiration—whether it’s there or not—while Leepurty tosses miniature flags outward with theatrical flair.

They begin their walk down the ramp—slow, deliberate, soaking in every second.

Mock-serious.

Overly polished.

Completely self-assured.

C.K. Kentus:
“They really believe they’re doing the audience a favor just by being here.”

J.R. Holland:
“That confidence borders on arrogance—but it’s made them very effective.”

At ringside, Ainsley steps onto the apron and poses, hand over heart, while Leepurty spins dramatically before entering between the ropes.

Inside the ring, they take center position—striking a synchronized pose as more red, white, and blue pyro pops behind them.

Across the ring, Chloe looks fired up.

Dixie just smirks.

J.R. Holland:
“This is going to be a very interesting clash of styles—and personalities.”

C.K. Kentus:
“Yeah… and I’ve got a feeling it’s about to get loud in more ways than one.”

Both teams settle into their corners, eyes locked as the referee steps forward to start the match.

The bell rings—and the tone is set immediately.

Before Chloe Parker can even establish control, Ainsley America and Leepurty Belle cut the ring in half, swarming her with a perfectly timed double team assault. Ainsley cracks her with a sharp Constitution Kick, and Leepurty follows with a spinning Kiss of Liberty, dropping Chloe hard.

J.R. Holland:
“And right away—double team tactics from the Sweethearts!”

C.K. Kentus:
“Efficient. That’s what champions look like.”

The referee begins warning them, but the Sweethearts push the limit—sneaking in extra shots behind his back, bending the rules just enough to stay in control.

Chloe tries to fight back, finally creating space with a Somersault Ace Crusher, igniting the crowd—but the momentum doesn’t last long.

Ainsley cuts her off with the Star-Spangled Stunner, and as soon as Leepurty tags in—

The cheating ramps up.

They trap Chloe in the corner, repeatedly tagging in and out while continuing to double team far beyond the legal count. A quick distraction from Leepurty draws the referee’s attention—just long enough for Ainsley to land a Democracy Driver behind his back.

J.R. Holland:
“That’s blatant—come on!”

C.K. Kentus:
“Oh please, that’s tag team awareness. If the referee doesn’t see it, it didn’t happen.”

Chloe is taking a beating—but refuses to stay down.

She fires back with a superkick and a piledriver, finally creating the opening—

Tag to Dixie Caverns!

The crowd comes alive as Dixie enters with controlled aggression, immediately going after Leepurty. But the Sweethearts slow things down again—taunts, slaps, and psychological games, trying to throw Dixie off rhythm.

J.R. Holland:
“They’re not just bending the rules—they’re controlling the tempo of this match.”

Dixie battles through it—countering, reversing, and even surviving a tightly locked Liberty Lockdown submission attempt.

The match turns into a back-and-forth fight.

Dixie lands a facebuster. Ainsley fires back. Tags are made. Momentum swings.

But the deeper the match goes—the more the Sweethearts lean into their advantage.

A subtle blind tag.

A distraction on the apron.

Another moment where the referee’s vision is just obstructed.

And that’s all they need.

Leepurty catches Dixie at the right moment—hooks her—

Pageant Plex (Bridging Northern Lights Suplex)!

She bridges perfectly.

J.R. Holland:
“Dixie Caverns in trouble—shoulders down!”

1… 2… 3!

RESULT: The All American Sweethearts defeat Chloe Parker & Dixie Caverns via pinfall (Leepurty Belle pins Dixie Caverns)

The Sweethearts pop up immediately—hands raised, already celebrating like they just won a championship match.

Ainsley demands the referee raise her arm as well, pointing to themselves and shouting toward the crowd.

C.K. Kentus:
“Win’s a win! That’s what champions do!”

J.R. Holland:
“They’re champions, yes—but they pushed every boundary to stay in control of that match.”

Inside the ring, Chloe checks on Dixie, frustration clear—but no quitting.

Across the ring, the Sweethearts strike another over-the-top patriotic pose, soaking in the reaction—whether it’s cheers or boos.

J.R. Holland:
“The All American Sweethearts continue to prove they’ll do whatever it takes to stay on top.”

C.K. Kentus:
“And that’s why they’re still champions.”

Camera lingers on the Sweethearts celebrating as Shockwave moves forward…

Cut to backstage.

Ryan Mercer stands poised, microphone in hand, the Shockwave logo glowing softly on the monitor behind her.

Ryan Mercer:
“Earlier tonight, we witnessed a successful Proving Grounds debut as Kai Zenith defeated TNT in his first match here in HCW.”

A slight turn as Kai steps into frame.

Kai Zenith stands composed—still feeling the effects of the match, but calm, centered. No over-celebration. No nerves.

Just focus.

Ryan Mercer:
“Kai, your first night in HCW—and you walked away with a victory over an established competitor. What does that moment mean to you?”

Kai takes a breath. Simple. Direct.

Kai Zenith:
“It means I belong.”

Ryan nods—letting the moment sit.

Ryan Mercer:
“Proving Grounds is designed to test not just talent—but consistency. Do you feel like you’ve made your statement tonight?”

Kai shakes his head slightly.

Kai Zenith:
“No.”

A beat.

Kai Zenith:
“I made an introduction.”

Ryan’s expression sharpens—interested.

Ryan Mercer:
“Then what comes next?”

Kai looks directly into the camera now.

Kai Zenith:
“What comes next… is I keep showing up.”

A pause.

Kai Zenith:
“And eventually…”

He steadies his tone—quiet confidence.

Kai Zenith:
“…people stop asking if I belong…”

Another beat.

Kai Zenith:
“…and start asking who can stop me.”

Ryan lowers the mic slightly, giving a small nod of acknowledgment.

Ryan Mercer:
“A confident and composed debut from Kai Zenith—one that may be just the beginning.”

Kai gives a subtle nod and steps out of frame.

J.R. Holland:
“Very measured. Very focused. That’s an impressive presence for someone in their first night.”

C.K. Kentus:
“Yeah, yeah—he said all the right things. Let’s see how long that lasts once the target’s on his back.”

J.R. Holland:
“If tonight is any indication, Kai Zenith may be more than ready for that challenge.”

Back in the arena…

A chaotic, militaristic march hits—off-beat drums, distorted bugle calls.

Colonel Samuel Flagg storms onto the stage, eyes darting, scanning the crowd like he’s walking into hostile territory. He points accusingly at fans, muttering under his breath before marching down the ramp.

J.R. Holland:
“And here comes Colonel Samuel Flagg… and if history tells us anything, we’re about to hear something… unfiltered.”

C.K. Kentus:
“Unfiltered? This is going to be a full investigation.”

Flagg slides into the ring, immediately demanding a microphone. He paces—tight, erratic, constantly looking over his shoulder.

Colonel Samuel Flagg:
“Cut the music! CUT IT!”

The music abruptly stops. Flagg freezes for a second… listening… then nods to himself like he’s confirmed something.

Colonel Samuel Flagg:
“I knew it. I KNEW it.”

He points toward the hard camera.

Colonel Samuel Flagg:
“This whole operation—compromised!”

The crowd reacts with a mix of confusion and amusement.

Colonel Samuel Flagg:
“I’ve been watching. Observing. Taking notes.”

He taps his temple.

Colonel Samuel Flagg:
“And what I see… is a roster FULL of underqualified, unprepared, and potentially un-American individuals masquerading as professional wrestlers!”

C.K. Kentus:
“You tell em…”

Colonel Samuel Flagg:
“You call this Proving Grounds? I’ve seen more discipline in a backyard barbecue surveillance op!”

He paces faster now, building intensity.

Colonel Samuel Flagg:
“You’ve got rookies walking in here thinking they belong—thinking they can just show up and take a spot from people who’ve earned clearance!”

He leans over the ropes, pointing at fans.

Colonel Samuel Flagg:
“And don’t think I don’t see you either! Half this crowd looks like they couldn’t pass a basic background check!”

Boos now.

Colonel Samuel Flagg:
“This company has a problem. A talent problem. A discipline problem. A—”

“Northern Fury” hits—heavy, pounding, primal.

The crowd ROARS as Jax Brenner storms onto the stage, Molly Mason right behind him.

Jax doesn’t pose.

Doesn’t play to the crowd.

He just walks.

Eyes locked on Flagg.

J.R. Holland:
“And here comes the Hardcore Champion—Jax Brenner—and I don’t think he’s here to debate!”

C.K. Kentus:
“No, this is about to get real.”

Flagg turns slowly… then smirks.

Colonel Samuel Flagg:
“Well, well…”

He adjusts his stance, squinting at Jax like he’s analyzing a threat.

Colonel Samuel Flagg:
“The Alaskan Wildman. Classified as unstable. High-risk. Questionable loyalty.”

Molly steps slightly forward, jaw set.

Colonel Samuel Flagg:
“You’re exactly the kind of problem I’ve been talking about—no structure, no control—just chaos!”

Jax reaches the ring steps and climbs up—never breaking eye contact.

He steps into the ring.

Flagg doesn’t back up.

Colonel Samuel Flagg:
“I’ve dealt with your type before.”

A pause.

Colonel Samuel Flagg:
“And I always neutralize the threat.”

Jax slowly raises his hand… and takes the microphone right out of Flagg’s grip.

The crowd pops.

Jax doesn’t yell.

Doesn’t rant.

He leans in just slightly.

Jax Brenner:
“You talk too much.”

Crowd erupts.

Jax drops the mic.

Molly Mason nods once from the outside, stepping back as the referee rushes in.

J.R. Holland:
“And just like that—we are not waiting! This match is happening right now!”

C.K. Kentus:
“Flagg wanted a problem—he just got one!”

Flagg squares up, still muttering to himself as the referee signals for the bell—

A poster of a person and person

AI-generated content may be incorrect.

Referee: Fast Count Frank

The bell rings and Colonel Samuel Flagg immediately goes on the offensive, stomping Jax down with rapid, erratic strikes, trying to overwhelm him before he can build momentum.

J.R. Holland:
“Flagg jumping Jax right out of the gate—he knows he can’t let Brenner dictate this match!”

C.K. Kentus:
“Smart strategy! You don’t let a freight train get rolling!”

At ringside, Molly Mason is already rallying the crowd, shouting encouragement as Jax begins to fight back. Jax powers up, driving Flagg into the mat with a series of heavy bodyslams, asserting control with raw strength.

J.R. Holland:
“And there it is—once Jax gets his hands on you, it becomes a different fight entirely!”

Flagg scrambles away, regaining his footing and shifting tactics—targeting Jax with quick offense, including a snap suplex and a sudden Patriotic Inverted Slam that halts Jax’s surge.

C.K. Kentus:
“Flagg’s not trying to overpower him—he’s trying to outthink him!”

The match settles into a back-and-forth rhythm. Jax regains control, lifting Flagg high and crashing him down with the Bigfoot Bomb, followed by the devastating Pickaxe, bringing the crowd to its feet.

J.R. Holland:
“That could do it! Jax Brenner is in complete control!”

Jax follows with a crushing Sasquatch Stomp, but Flagg manages to survive, rolling toward the ropes and buying himself a moment.

Then—things begin to turn.

As Jax pulls Flagg back toward center ring, Flagg subtly grabs the ropes to slow the momentum—just enough to throw Jax off balance. The referee seems to disregard it.”

J.R. Holland:
“Did you see that? Flagg using the ropes!”

C.K. Kentus:
“That’s awareness!”

Flagg staggers to his feet, baiting Jax in. As Jax charges forward, Flagg quickly yanks at the tights—pulling Jax off his base—before planting him with another Patriotic Inverted Slam.

Flagg hooks the leg—

And just as the referee slides into position—

Flagg sneaks his boot onto the bottom rope for extra leverage.

J.R. Holland:
“Not like this—!”

1… 2… 3!

RESULT:  Colonel Samuel Flagg defeats Jax Brenner via pinfall (using illegal leverage on the ropes)

Flagg pops up immediately, arms raised, shouting wildly as if he’s just proven his point to the entire company.

J.R. Holland:
“Wait a minute—Flagg had his foot on the rope!”

C.K. Kentus:
“Ref didn’t see it! That’s a win!  He beat the Hardcore Champion!”

J.R. Holland:
“He cheated to beat the Hardcore Champion!”

Inside the ring, Jax sits up, realization turning to anger as he looks toward the ropes. At ringside, Molly Mason is furious, pointing out what happened to the referee.

Flagg backs toward the ropes, yelling and pointing at Jax.

Colonel Samuel Flagg:
“THAT’S YOUR CHAMPION?! THAT’S YOUR STANDARD?!”

He taps his head repeatedly.

Colonel Samuel Flagg:
“I EXPOSED YOU! I EXPOSED ALL OF YOU!”

Jax rises slowly—ready to tear through him—but Flagg bails out of the ring immediately, retreating up the ramp, still yelling.

Colonel Samuel Flagg:
“I WANT A TITLE MATCH! YOU HEAR ME?! I WANT MY SHOT!”

The crowd rains boos down as Flagg backs up the ramp, completely unhinged—but victorious.

In the ring, Jax stands seething, Molly at his side trying to steady him.

J.R. Holland:
“Colonel Samuel Flagg may have stolen this match—but he’s now demanding a shot at the Hardcore Championship!”

C.K. Kentus:
“Stolen or not—he just pinned the Hardcore Champion. That’s leverage.”

In the ring, Jax stands seething, Molly at his side, both locked on Flagg as he backs up the ramp, still shouting.

Shockwave moves forward with tension hanging in the air…

Ryan Mercer stands composed, microphone in hand, the Shockwave logo glowing behind her.

Ryan Mercer:
“I’m joined now by the HCW Television Champion—The Rich Athlete—and his manager, Ruth Heartless. In just moments, you’ll defend your title in tonight’s main event against Matches Malone.”

The camera widens as The Rich Athlete steps into frame—robe draped perfectly, title over his shoulder—while Ruth Heartless stands just behind and slightly to his side, composed and watchful.

The Rich Athlete doesn’t look at Ryan.

He adjusts the title on his shoulder first.

Then slowly turns.

Ryan Mercer:
“You’ve made it very clear how highly you think of yourself as champion—but tonight presents a different kind of challenge. Matches Malone has nothing to lose. Does that change your approach at all?”

Rich smirks—just slightly.

The Rich Athlete:
“Ryan… the only thing that changes tonight… is the level of embarrassment for my opponent.”

A pause.

The Rich Athlete:
“You say ‘nothing to lose’ like that’s dangerous.”

He steps a little closer—not aggressive, just dismissive.

The Rich Athlete:
“That’s not dangerous.”

A slight shake of his head.

The Rich Athlete:
“That’s desperation.”

C.K. Kentus (from commentary feed, faint):
“He’s not wrong…”

The Rich Athlete:
“I don’t deal in desperation. I deal in expectations.”

He taps the title lightly.

The Rich Athlete:
“And every time I step into that ring… I exceed them.”

Ryan shifts slightly, keeping control of the interview.

Ryan Mercer:
“Matches Malone has been building momentum—some would say he’s been waiting for an opportunity exactly like this.”

Before Rich can respond—

Ruth Heartless steps forward just slightly.

Calm.

Precise.

Ruth Heartless:
“And now he has it.”

A beat.

Ruth Heartless:
“And that will be the worst thing that’s ever happened to him.”

Rich smiles now—fully aligned.

The Rich Athlete:
“You don’t get better by standing across from me, Ryan.”

A pause.

The Rich Athlete:
“You get exposed.”

He leans in just slightly toward the camera.

The Rich Athlete:
“And tonight… Matches Malone finds out exactly what that feels like.  WOOOOOO!”

As they turn to leave—

The camera shifts slightly.

In the background—

Matches Malone steps into frame.

No words.

No interruption.

Just a stare.

Focused.

Unblinking.

The Rich Athlete doesn’t turn around.

But Ruth notices.

Her expression tightens—just slightly.

Enough to register.

J.R. Holland:
“Strong words from the Television Champion—but you have to wonder if Matches Malone heard every bit of that.”

C.K. Kentus:
“Oh, he heard it. Question is—can he do anything about it?”

J.R. Holland:
“We’re about to find out.”

MAIN EVENT — HCW TELEVISION CHAMPIONSHIP

A gritty, blues-infused rock track hits as the crowd responds with a strong, supportive reaction.

Matches Malone steps onto the stage—focused, no flash, no wasted motion. He takes a quick look around the arena, nodding once, then starts his walk to the ring.

J.R. Holland:
“Matches Malone getting his opportunity tonight—and you can see the focus written all over him.”

C.K. Kentus:
“Yeah, focus is great. Let’s see if it’s enough.”

Malone walks with purpose, acknowledging a few fans with quick nods but never breaking stride. He slides into the ring, rises, and immediately turns toward the entrance—ready.

The arena lights dim—

Then explode into gold and white as a grand, orchestral-glam anthem hits.

The Rich Athlete emerges, draped in his robe, the Television Championship gleaming over his shoulder. Behind him, composed and elegant, Ruth Heartless follows—eyes locked forward.

They pause at the top of the ramp.

Rich slowly raises the title.

Boos rain down.

C.K. Kentus:
“Now that is what a champion looks like.”

J.R. Holland:
“He certainly carries himself like one.”

They make their way down the ramp at a deliberate pace—Rich soaking in the moment, Ruth just behind him, observing everything.

At ringside, Rich hands the title to Ruth for a moment, then steps onto the apron and enters through the ropes. Ruth remains outside, holding the championship with a calm, confident expression before handing it off to the official.

Tony Calibur:
“Ladies and gentlemen, the following contest is scheduled for one fall… and it is for the HCW Television Championship!”

Crowd reacts loudly.

Tony Calibur:
“Introducing first—the challenger…”

He gestures toward Malone.

Tony Calibur:
“From the seedy parts of Gotham… weighing in at 218 pounds…
MATCHES… MALOOOONE!

Malone raises a hand briefly, eyes never leaving the champion.

Tony Calibur:
“And his opponent…”

Boos already building.

Tony Calibur:
“Accompanied to the ring by Ruth Heartless…
From Greenwich, Connecticut… weighing in at 235 pounds…

He is the reigning and defending HCW Television Champion…
THE RICH… ATHLETE!

The champ smirks, arms slightly outstretched as the boos intensify.

He steps forward, staring down Malone.

Malone doesn’t flinch.

J.R. Holland:
“Championship on the line—this is what it’s all about.”

C.K. Kentus:
“And now we find out if Matches Malone belongs in the same ring as the champion.”

The referee takes the title, holds it up high as both men stare each other down—

and prepares to call for the bell.

The bell rings—and it doesn’t take long for the numbers game to make itself known.

As Matches Malone circles in, looking to establish control, Ruth Heartless strikes from the outside—raking the eyes when the referee’s vision is obstructed, giving The Rich Athlete the opening he needs.

J.R. Holland:
“Already—Ruth Heartless getting involved!”

C.K. Kentus:
“That’s called proper management!”

Malone is forced onto the defensive early as Rich immediately targets the leg—driving him down with a series of Shin Breakers, each one methodical, each one clearly part of a larger strategy.

J.R. Holland:
“The Rich Athlete dissecting his opponent—this is very deliberate.”

The Rich Athlete continues to control the pace, landing sharp strikes and even tossing Malone out of the ring to disrupt any rhythm. Malone fights back in bursts—landing a Spinning Punch Combo and later a thunderous Chokeslam that brings the crowd to life.

J.R. Holland:
“That’s the opening—Malone has him!”

Malone hooks the leg—

1… 2—NO!

C.K. Kentus:
“Not enough! You don’t finish champions that easily!”

The match shifts into a gritty back-and-forth. Malone rallies with Turnbuckle Smashes, heavy strikes, and raw determination, refusing to stay down despite the punishment to his leg.

But every time momentum begins to swing—

Ruth intervenes.

A distraction here.

Another eye rake there.

Just enough.

J.R. Holland:
“This is becoming a pattern—every time Malone gains ground, something stops him!”

The Rich Athlete regains control, continuing to target the leg with precision. Malone fires back again—another flurry, another surge—but the damage is beginning to show.

Then—

The turning point.

The Rich Athlete traps Malone—

Transitions smoothly—

And locks in the Luxurious Leglock.

Malone struggles.

Reaches.

Tries to power out—

But the damage has been done.

J.R. Holland:
“He’s got it locked in! Malone’s in serious trouble!”

Malone fights—refuses—tries to drag himself forward—

But he can’t.

He taps.

RESULT:  The Rich Athlete retains the HCW Television Championship via submission (Luxurious Leglock)

The champion immediately releases the hold and rises, adjusting his posture as if nothing about that match surprised him.

Ruth slides into the ring, retrieving the title and handing it to him with a satisfied nod.

C.K. Kentus:
“That’s what dominance looks like!”

J.R. Holland:
“He had help—more than once—but the strategy was clear: take away Malone’s base and finish the job.”

Malone rolls to the side, clutching his leg—frustrated but not broken.

The TV Champion stands over him for a moment—smirking—before raising the Television Championship high.

J.R. Holland:
“Tonight on Shockwave, we saw the debut of Kai Zenith in Proving Grounds—and a statement victory to begin his HCW career.”

C.K. Kentus:
“Yeah, one win. Let’s not build a statue yet.”

J.R. Holland:
“The All American Sweethearts continued their winning ways—though not without controversy.”

C.K. Kentus:
“Champions win. However they have to.”

J.R. Holland:
“And perhaps the most controversial moment of the night—Colonel Samuel Flagg pinning the Hardcore Champion Jax Brenner using illegal leverage.”

C.K. Kentus:
“Illegal? The ref counted three! That’s a victory—and now he’s got a claim to a title match!”

J.R. Holland:
“And in our main event, The Rich Athlete retains the Television Championship—but again, Ruth Heartless played a role in shifting the balance.”

C.K. Kentus:
“That’s called having a complete team.”

Camera shows Rich on the stage now, title over his shoulder, Ruth at his side—both completely composed as they look back toward the ring.

J.R. Holland:
“Controversy, momentum, and rising tensions across the board—Shockwave continues to reshape the landscape of HCW.”

C.K. Kentus:
“And if tonight proved anything—it’s that if you’re not ready, you’re getting left behind.”

J.R. Holland:
“For Clarkus Kentus, I’m J.R. Holland—thank you for joining us for HCW Shockwave.”

C.K. Kentus:
“Goodnight—and try to keep up.”

Fade out as the Shockwave logo fills the screen.
