HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2025 #1144 – 10/08-  After Dark:  Convergence Announcement

Opening – After Dark Studio

The broadcast opens on the familiar HCW After Dark logo, shimmering in electric blues and purples. The camera cuts to the studio desk where Johnny “the Hammer” Harris, Candace Hart, and veteran interviewer Larry Morton sit together.

Johnny “the Hammer” Harris (smirking, leaning back):
“Hello wrestling fans, and welcome back to another installment of the HCW Wrestling Newsletter. Now, normally you’d have J.R. Holland kicking things off, but tonight you’re stuck with us. Don’t worry — we’ll try not to raise the bar too high.  Tonight — forget headlocks and hammerlocks. We’re taking you straight into the smoke-filled rooms where Convergence is being shaped. Trust me, this isn’t going to be polite.”

Candace Hart (bright, excited):
“This is history in the making. HCW and NPCW, two powerhouses colliding — and for the first time, you’ll see who HCW believes should stand on that stage. These decisions are going to set the tone for Convergence, maybe even for the next decade of wrestling.”

Larry Morton (measured, authoritative):
“And make no mistake, fans. This is not just a meeting — it’s a struggle for influence. Donnie B, Max McGillicutty, Count Vlad… each has a different vision for what HCW should look like at Convergence. And every voice in that room will fight to be heard. Tonight, you’ll see that fight unfold.”

Johnny “the Hammer” Harris (chuckling, shaking his head):
“Yeah, Larry, let’s call it what it is — a roundtable with more daggers than seats. Let’s take you there.”

The screen fades to black.

HCW After Dark Special: The Convergence Roundtable

Date: October 8, 2025

Narrator (measured, direct):

“Hello wrestling fans, and welcome back to another installment of the HCW Wrestling Newsletter. Tonight, After Dark brings you something unlike anything we’ve ever done. No match reviews, no highlight reels — instead, you’ll see the inner walls of power. HCW’s leaders, managers, and voices are gathering to decide which HCW performers will represent our company at Convergence.  Without further ado, let’s go there now.”

The camera fades up on the HCW boardroom. A long mahogany table dominates the room. Behind it, banners of HCW hang on the walls, flanked by spotlights showing the Convergence logo.

The room hums with tension before Donnie leans forward.

Donnie B (firm, calm):
“We all know why we’re here. Convergence isn’t just another show — it’s a chance to prove HCW stands equal with NPCW. Max and I will sit on the official Booking Committee. Tonight, our job is simple: agree on who HCW puts forward for that stage. No games, no Dominion decrees. Just clarity.”

Max McGillicutty (straightening his tie):
“Clarity? Donnie, you and I may sit on that committee, but let’s not pretend. Dominion Law has guided HCW through the storm, and Count Vlad deserves a say. His influence cannot be ignored.”

Count Vlad (smooth, smiling faintly):
“Influence is not taken, Max. It is inevitable. Convergence will not escape my Dominion — no matter what seats at what tables are shuffled.”

Dave “the Brute” Kent (via Teams, scoffing):
“Here we go. Same old Dominion song and dance. Donnie, you’re dead right to cut Vlad off the committee. You let him in, he’d turn Convergence into ‘House of Fang’ before the first bell.”

J.R. Holland (measured but firm):
“And if HCW lets that happen, the fans won’t forgive us. Balance matters. We can’t send a message that this company belongs to the Dominion.”

Rick Granger (smirking, interjecting):
“Balance doesn’t draw money, J.R. Dominion does. You don’t have to like it, but when Count Vlad’s name is on a marquee, tickets sell.”

Mike 'the Voice' Johnson (snapping back):
“And when Zack Brown, Korbi Kong, or the Samoan Bloodline’s names are on that marquee, tickets sell too, Rick. This isn’t about one faction — it’s about HCW.”

The argument hums, Donnie raises his hand for quiet.

Donnie B (authoritative):
“Enough. Vlad will have his chance in the ring. But Max and I are the voices at the table. Let’s move on to the roster.”

Max McGillicutty:
“First name — Jack Lumber. He’s our World Champion. He has to be there.”

Count Vlad (low laugh):
“Jack Lumber is Dominion. He is mine. He will be at Convergence because I will him to be.”

Mike 'the Voice' Johnson (cutting in):
“Jack Lumber is HCW’s champion, not Vlad’s puppet. He belongs in Columbia representing this company, not parading as your trophy.”

Dave “the Brute” Kent (grinning on screen):
“Lumber’s a mess, folks. You all know it. His ties to Vlad, his flip-flopping, his moral compass spinning like a drunk sailor. If you put him at Convergence, you better prepare for fireworks — and not the pretty kind.”

J.R. Holland (calmly):
“Which is exactly why he
has to be there. Convergence is about the biggest stakes. Leaving your champion off the card would be cowardice. The question isn’t whether he’s in — it’s who stands across from him.”

Donnie nods. The table moves on.

Pierre Boulay (smooth, self-serving):
“Let us not forget the value of spectacle. The Albano family and their allies deserve a place at Convergence. Luciana, Dick, Vinnie — they bring prestige.”

Max McGillicutty:
“Biceps Bannerman. He’s earned his shot. If we’re talking spectacle, he’s the man for it.”

Rick Granger (snorting):
“Bannerman? Please. He’s big, he’s flashy, but he’s soft. You put him in there against NPCW’s best, he folds.”

Mike 'the Voice' Johnson (angrily):
“Bannerman has carried this company through the toughest crowds. He’s an athlete who makes fans believe. He belongs at Convergence.”

Dave “the Brute” Kent (leaning forward on screen):
“Bannerman’s a draw. Period. But don’t book him soft. Give him a monster, give him a predator. If you want the world talking, you let the big man sink or swim in the deep end.”

J.R. Holland (leaning in):
“One thing we can’t afford to undercut: the women. Ashley Summers. Mina Harker. Korbi Kong. Grizelda. They’ve all proven they can headline. HCW should fight for one of the two main events to be a women’s match.”

Count Vlad (mocking):
“Queens and crowns. Pretty ornaments for a bloody stage. When Dominion enters, all such crowns shatter.”

J.R. Holland (cutting him off sharply):
“With respect, Count Vlad, that’s nonsense. Ashley Summers in a steel cage, Mina Harker’s transformation, Talia Nocturne’s reign — these women
are main events. The fans know it. Pretend otherwise and you insult them.”

Donnie B (decisive):
“Agreed. At least one women’s match must headline. Non-negotiable.”

Max McGillicutty:
“Morningstar. Feral. Beastfang. These names must be on the card.”

Mike 'the Voice' Johnson (grimacing):
“They’ll be there, Max. But the concern is balance. If HCW looks like Dominion versus NPCW, we’ve failed.”

Rick Granger (mocking):
“Failed? Or dominated? Fans don’t want balance, they want blood. Dominion brings that in buckets.”

Dave “the Brute” Kent (with a bark of laughter):
“And buckets of overbooking if you’re not careful. Donnie, Max — if you overload Convergence with monsters, you kill the intrigue. Spread ‘em out. Use them wisely.”

Donnie makes a note.

They move through the rest of the list — Owen Zestwell, the Samoan BloodlineSterling SilvermanEvan StockwellOutback Oscar, and others. Each name gets debated, weighed, positioned.

Pierre Boulay (snapping):
“Luciana Albano
must be protected. She cannot be wasted in a Battle Royal. She deserves spotlight.”

J.R. Holland:
“Spotlight is earned, Pierre. Not demanded.”

Dave “the Brute” Kent (smirking):
“Finally — someone says it. Thank you, J.R.”

Donnie rises, the room quieting.

Donnie B (firm, commanding):
“We’ve talked circles long enough. This is where we land: Jack Lumber, Zack Brown, Ashley Summers, Biceps Bannerman, Morningstar, the Nightstalkers, the Samoan Bloodline, Mina Harker, Korbi Kong, Grizelda — they’re in. Bannerman gets his spotlight. Ashley Summers or Mina Harker headlines. Balance between Dominion and non-Dominion. And yes, we’ll fill the rest with our depth — the Prophets, the Albanos, the Battle Royals. That is HCW’s foundation for Convergence.”

The table murmurs, some in agreement, some with simmering resentment. Count Vlad smiles coldly. Max looks pleased. J.R. nods. Mike slaps the table approvingly. Rick scowls.

On the monitor, Dave Kent leans in.

Dave “the Brute” Kent (final thought):
“Not bad, Donnie. For once, HCW doesn’t look like it’s eating itself alive. But mark my words: the committee meetings ahead? That’s where the knives come out. And I’ll be right here to call it when they do.”

After Dark Close

The screen fades back to the studio, the panel looking contemplative after the fireworks of the roundtable.

Larry Morton (steady, reflective):
“You’ve just seen a pivotal moment in wrestling history. HCW’s leadership laid their positions bare, and what follows will shape the very heart of Convergence. But remember — this was only the beginning. The official Booking Committee will now meet three times to settle the card, and the stakes will only rise.”

Candace Hart (energized, leaning forward):
“If tonight’s roundtable was this charged, imagine what happens when HCW, NPCW, and the KWO Board all step into the same arena of ideas. The powder keg’s been lit — the question is, who’s going to control the explosion?”

Johnny “the Hammer” Harris (smirking, dismissive):
“Control it? Please. Nobody’s controlling anything. Vlad, Donnie, Max — they’re all too stubborn. Convergence is going to be chaos, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.”

Larry Morton (closing, composed):
“Two nights. Two homes. One legacy. This has been HCW After Dark.”

The Convergence logo fills the screen. Fade to black.
