The Fanfest:
The
sold out event had to be one of the largest in recent memory. Most of the merchandise brought in for sale,
especially for tonight’s Hall of Fame inductees, completely sold out. Very little was left which means merchandise
will get an infusion of new items. The
Wicked Prophet, HCW World Champion and the winner of last year’s “Meyers Cup”
(the gold cup that gives him unlimited refills for a year) says that he will
repeat again this year and he’s going to have to create a trophy case for not
only his championships but his accumulation of gold cups.
The Heritage Championship Wrestling
(HCW) fanfest celebration was a whirlwind of excitement and interaction between
the passionate fans and their favorite wrestling stars. The venue was filled
with an eclectic mix of HCW's diverse roster, each member bringing their unique
persona and energy to the festivities.
"Bad News" Marvin Barnes,
with his notorious reputation, dismissed fans as they eagerly sought autographs
and photos. The enigmatic Duke Knight, a new addition to the roster in 2024,
intrigued fans with his extensive knowledge of professional wrestling. The
Bounty Hunter Jake Montrose, Dirty Dick Albano, and The Alaskan Wildman Jax
Brenner, among others, created a vibrant atmosphere as they engaged with fans,
sharing stories and posing for pictures.
As despised as the Albano Mafia is, they surprisingly had a great
turnout (probably to hear stories about the late, great, Capt. Lou Albano.)
The Italian Thoroughbred Dominic
Marconi, the Magnificent One JR Fargo, and Kroman the Barbarian showcased their
contrasting styles, while Tommy ‘the Morningstar’ Sullivan, Vicious Vinnie
Albano and Dr. Red Fang brought their intense personas to the fanfest, leaving
fans in awe.
Newcomer Owen 'Orange Fury"
Zestwell, a fresh face in 2024, made an impact as fans got their first taste of
his high-energy presence. Along with his tag team partner, Julius Squeezer,
they are known as ‘Orange Fusion Force’. Their shirts (which read “Back the
OFF” completely sold out half the way through the show). Additionally, Zack 'Commando' Brown, another
new addition in 2024, stirred excitement with his promising debut even though
he’s aligned himself with the diabolical Col. Flagg.
Non-wrestler characters like General
Managers Max McGillicutty and our resident Forensic investigator Gardinia Blue,
added a touch of authority to the event, overseeing the proceedings with an air
of command. Ruth Heartless and The Ambassador, serving as managers, contributed
to the star-studded affair by assisting and guiding their respective wrestlers.
The ladies of HCW, including Korbi
Kong, Luna Shadow, and the Ladies Champion Luciana Albano, brought grace and
charisma to the fanfest. Goldie Locks, Chloe Parker, and the rest of the female
roster were warmly welcomed by fans, who appreciated their contributions to the
world of wrestling. The lines for Violet
Valkyrie and Hayley Hailstorm seemed like they would never end.
Starbuck Steel entertained fans with
stories about Buzz which were met with a lot of emotion.
The fanfest also featured interviews
conducted by Larry Morton and Pierre Boulay, providing fans with insights into
the minds of their favorite wrestlers. The lively atmosphere, marked by
laughter, cheers, and shared excitement, set the stage for a memorable Hall of
Fame Ceremony, making it clear that HCW continues to be a powerhouse of
entertainment and passion in the world of professional wrestling.
The
event ended a couple of hours before the Hall of Fame ceremony was set to begin
to give everyone time to prepare.
