Hello fans and welcome to another installment of the HCW Wrestling Newsletter. We are in the home stretch now. 4 days from now, the Critical Mass PPV week long event kicks off with the Fanfest and Hall of Fame ceremony on Wednesday and then Thursday-Sunday, we have our huge (first ever) 4 day event (5 if you include the fanfest/HOF ceremony).
Tonight’s
show begins with pyro going off.
In another build up towards the HCW
mega PPV, Critical Mass, the crowd buzzed with anticipation for the contract
signing between Tommy 'the Morningstar' Sullivan and SCW Commissioner Shane
Douglas. The ring was adorned with the banners of both SCW and HCW, creating an
electric atmosphere for the showdown.
HCW General Manager Max
McGillicutty, dressed in a sharp suit, made his way to the ring to oversee the
contract signing. He took the microphone, addressing the raucous crowd,
"Ladies and gentlemen, tonight we have a special treat for you. The
contract signing for a colossal match between Tommy 'the Morningstar' Sullivan
and SCW Commissioner Shane Douglas for the SCW Heavyweight Championship!"
The arena darkened, and Tommy 'the
Morningstar' Sullivan's entrance music hit. Sullivan emerges in a new outfit.
A giant X (for Extreme) hangs over
the stage. The charismatic Sullivan
emerged, strutting confidently down the ramp, a sly grin on his face. Tommy gets on the mic and tells Max to get
the contract signing over with since Shane wasn’t man enough to show up here in
HIS yard until…
New music played at the arrival of
Shane Douglas. The crowd's excitement turned into a mix of cheers and boos as
the SCW Commissioner confidently strolled down the ramp, his eyes locked on the
ring.
Tommy grabbed a microphone and
entered the ring, circling the table where the contract awaited signatures.
"Well, well, look who decided to show up! The big-shot commissioner
finally graces us with his presence," Tommy mocked, playing to the crowd's
reaction. “No goons with you?”
Shane Douglas, unfazed by Tommy's
taunts, retorted, "Save the theatrics for the ring, Tommy. I'm here to
sign the contract and prove once and for all that SCW is a force to be reckoned
with."
The two men locked eyes, the tension
escalating. Max McGillicutty intervened, urging them to focus on the business
at hand. "Gentlemen, let's get down to business. Sign the contract and
make this match official."
As Shane reached for the pen, Tommy
snatched it away, continuing his verbal assault. "You see, Shane, I've
been a champion everywhere I've been. You might be a commissioner, but you're
stepping into the ring with a true star."
He signs the contract.
Shane, not one to back down, grabbed
another microphone. "Tommy, you may be a star, but I've been in this
business longer than you've been on this earth.
I'll show you what real experience looks like in that ring. When I’m done with you, you’ll be back to
wearing diapers just like you did when you shit yourself knowing you were going
up against the Franchise." He takes
the pen and signs the contract.
The verbal sparring reached its
boiling point, and suddenly, the table was overturned. Security rushed to the
ring to separate the two competitors, but it was too late. The brawl spilled to
the outside, with Shane and Tommy trading blows as the crowd roared in
excitement.
The chaotic scene continued all the
way to the backstage area, where security finally managed to separate the two
fighters. The contract was signed, and the match was official, but the
animosity between Shane Douglas and Tommy 'the Morningstar' Sullivan had
reached a boiling point, promising an explosive showdown at Critical Mass.
Max
McGillicutty says that he feels he’s going to need to exercise executive power
tonight so he’s going to remain at commentary for the entire show.
Match #1: The Commando Zack Brown vs Julius Squeezer
For
our first match of the evening, Julius Squeezer comes out accompanied by Owen
Zestwell. The two get a pop as they head
to the ring. They circle the ring and
shake hands with the fans. Owen goes
over to talk to GM Max McGillicutty and Julius enters the ring. Next, the music changes and out comes Zack
‘The Commando’ Brown and is accompanied by Flaggship captain Col. Flagg. Flagg, more than Brown, is booed (but Zack is
because of his association with the diabolical Col). Flagg tells Zack it’s time
to take the gloves off and needs to teach (pointing to Julius) that oversized
ape who the dominant force is in HCW.
Zack nods and enters the ring.
Much to everyones surprise, Zack walks up to Julius and extends his
hand. Julius, confused, looks to the
crowd and follows their lead and shakes it.
Zack backs up and waits for the match to begin.
On
the outside of the ring, Flagg kept shouting at Zack which actually distracted
him more than it helped. At one point,
Flagg was going to try and get into the ring but Owen quickly got to his feet
and warned the Colonel away. Julius
locked Zack in the Gorilla Squeeze but Zack would not submit. He made it to the ropes to break the
hold. Flagg began shouting again which
caused Zack to get distracted and then got clotheslined over the top rope by
Julius. Zack told Flagg he needed to
stand down. He said he can get what he
needs done but needs to be able to do it on his own. Zack hit a Paratrooper Plunge and a
powerbomb on Julius but got caught up in a belly to belly suplex by the big
man. Julius went for the pin but Zack
kicked out. Zack hit the K-9 clutch and a
Lawman Lariat. Zack went for the clutch
again but Julius reversed it and locked in the Gorilla Squeeze. Zack managed to squirm out of it. Julius threw Zack into the corner and went
for a back elbow smash but Zack moved at the last minute and Julius hit the top
turnbuckle hard. He quickly tried
shaking some feeling back into his arm.
Zack hits a Bossman Slam but gets sent out of the ring again. Upon entering the ring, Julius got him locked
up and hit a double underhook powerbomb and made the cover. At that very moment, Flagg and Owen started
to get into it. Owen pushed Flagg at the
same time Zack got his foot on the bottom rope.
Flagg hit the ropes which knocked Zack’s foot off. The ref counted 1-2-3 and awarded the match
to Julius Squeezer.
The
altercation between Flagg and Owen carried into the ring. Zack tried to get involved but the ref
(joined by a gaggle of others) got the action broken up. At ringside, GM Max McGillicutty announced
that another match was being added to the PPV.
It would be the Flaggship taking on Orange Fusion Force. The fans seemed to enjoy that. Both teams eventually left with no further
altercation. (16 min for the match; 5
additional for the aftermath)
Backstage,
Duke Knight is talking to Dennis Marshall.
Duke tells Dennis that he got himself a match against Mr. X and asked if
Dennis could stand in for him with Biceps Bannerman. Dennis asked who the opponents were and Duke
told him it was US Champion Wilber Townsend and TNT. Dennis couldn’t agree to it fast enough.
Match #2: Wilber Townsend / TNT vs Dennis Marshall /
Biceps Bannerman
First,
the new team combination of Biceps Bannerman and Dennis Marshall came out to a
nice pop from the crowd. They made their
way to the ring. Dennis looked anxious
to get his hands on Wilber. The lights
go dim and random lights popped up (like fireflies) and out comes Wilber
Townsend carrying his lantern. He is
accompanied by his nephew TNT (Templeton N. Townsend). The duo are booed heavily as they make their
way to the ring. Wilber keeps staring at
Dennis and it’s kind of creepy. He’s a
master of mind games and tonight is no different.

down. Wilber sneaks in and attacks
Dennis. After ramming Dennis’ head into
the steel post and busting him open, he hits Dennis with the Sister Abigail 3
times. He stands over Dennis and begins
laughing maniacally. TNT joins him in
the ring briefly before they head to the back.
Refs come out to check on the two and they are ok for the most
part. Dennis is going to want revenge
though.
Backstage,
we are joined by the Albano Clan and their manager Pierre Boulay. Pierre says he has confirmed with the entire
family and that the match for the 6 Man titles at the PPV will be No DQ. That means ANYTHING goes (including outside
interference). Pierre then adds that the
losers will be forced to leave HCW. Aldo
says that the fans better get their goodbyes in now. Everyone laughs.
Match #3: Mr x vs Duke Knight (non-title match)
Duke
Knight comes out first for the match and he gets a nice pop from the
crowd. He makes his way into the ring
and waits. The Hardcore Champion Mr. X
comes out (he’s making sure EVERYONE knows this is a non-title match). He is booed heavily. He flips off a few fans and threatens to hit
a couple but shows restraint. He gets
right into the ring and immediately kicks Duke below the belt. He removes his title and tells the ref to
start the match.

X gets the win and the fans are not happy.
Mr. X looks like he’s going to attack Duke again but then out comes ‘the
Alaskan Wildman’ Jax Brenner. Brenner
rushes down to the ring and climbs in over the top rope. He stares menacingly at Mr. X. X begins to back down but then stops. Jax tells X he wants a shot at the
title. ‘The Bounty Hunter’ Jake Montrose
comes out and says that there is a bounty on Jax’s head and he is going to
collect. Mr. X says that at the PPV,
the two of them can have their match. If
Montrose wins, he can collect his bounty (most likely being paid by Mr. X but
watch out for payment in pennies) and Jax will lose his shot. If by some luck, the Alaskan Wookie sneaks
away with a win, he will give him a title shot.
Mr. X turns and leaves. Jax is
stewing. Jake tries to attack Jax from
behind but Jax no-sells it and hits Jake with a HUGE chokelsam. Jax then leave the ring. Jake Montrose, shaking the cobwebs from his
head, leaves shortly thereafter.
GM
Max McGillicutty gets back in the ring and sets up a table for our next
contract signing between the World Champion the Wicked Prophet and Jack
Lumber. Jack comes out first to a
deafening pop from the crowd. He makes
his way to the ring and raises his arms.
He goes over to talk to the GM as the music changes and the World
Champion finally graces us with his presence.
Prophet has a live mic as he heads to the ring.
“GM Mini McQuilty, I say
your so called repercussions are as asinine as you are! You can Kiss my wicked
ass! Jack Lumber! It’s about time you
meet your maker! You won’t last a damn minute in the ring with me you puny wimp!”
Prophet
gets in the ring and after shoving Max aside, he signs the contract. He turns to leave but Jack grabs his
arm.
Jack Lumber: "You see, Prophet,
you may have signed that contract, but that doesn't mean a damn thing until we
step into that ring together. You can talk a big game, you can shove people
around, but when it comes down to it, it's just you and me, one-on-one, no
tricks, no mind games, just pure, unadulterated competition."
[Jack steps forward, locking eyes
with Prophet, his determination shining through.]
Jack Lumber: "So you can call
me a puny wimp all you want, Prophet, but mark my words: when we meet in that
ring, I'll show you what a real man is made of. I'll show you what it means to
fight with every ounce of strength in your body, with every beat of your heart.
And when it's all said and done, when the dust settles and the smoke clears,
you'll know one thing for sure: Jack Lumber isn't just here to play games. Jack
Lumber is here to win."
[The crowd erupts once again,
chanting Jack's name as he stares down his opponent, ready to prove himself on
the grandest stage of them all.]
Prophet
leaves with a disgusted look on his face.
Jack shakes hands with the fans before heading to the back.
Korbi Kong In-Ring

Korbi
Kong and Violet Valkyrie make their way out as “KORBI KONG SMASH” reverberates
from the speakers. They get into the
ring and Korbi takes a mic. She has to
wait for the crowd to settle down as these fans are popping louder than they
did for Jack Lumber (and that was really loud).
Korbi thanks the fans for their support and promises she will give 100%
when it comes time to meet Luciana Albano in the ring for the Ladies
Title. She is interrupted by Dixie
Caverns who is booed as she makes her way to the ring. She takes the mic from Korbi and says that
Korbi doesn’t deserve a title shot…hell, she lost the title to Luciana. What makes her think she’s worthy of another
chance? Dixie tells Korbi she wants the
title match at Critical Mass and is here to challenge Korbi right now for that
spot. Korbi doesn’t take long and
accepts. A few minutes later, Dixie hits
a hurricanrana and covers without hooking the leg and that allowed Korbi to
also kick out with gusto. We now join
the match at the 23 minute mark.
Match #4: Dixie
Caverns vs Korbi Kong
The
two started off like wildfire. Korbi was
in control for the first 8 minutes of the match until Dixie hit the Candy Dish
and followed it up with a facebuster.
After that, Dixie was in control.
The fans began wondering if Korbi was not going to make it to the PPV.
During the next 10 minutes, Dixie went for the pin twice only getting a 2
count. At the 19 min mark, Korbi made it
to the top rope and hit the Mile High flying elbow drop. She was delayed in making the cover so as
soon as she did, Dixie managed to kick out with gusto.

the Ambassador is with Tommy ‘the Morningstar’ Sullivan. Tommy tells the Ambassador that since his
match will be hardcore style, his services won’t be needed. The Ambassador acknowledges and wishes Tommy
a quick victory.
Match #5: The Main Event: Hardcore Style: Tommy Sullivan vs Adam Jameson.
Adam
Jameson makes his way out first to a nice pop from the crowd. He makes it into the ring and does some
stretching to loosen up for the match.
The music changes and out comes Tommy Sullivan. The crowd boos the Morningstar as he slowly
makes his way to the ring. He gets into
the ring, looking as menacing as ever, and goes right on the offensive. Ultimate Shoot Fight Rules.

Sullivan gets the win and everything is starting to wind down until SCW
Commissioner Shane Douglas came back out.
Shane has a mic and says that HCW knows nothing about Extreme (pointing
to the large X) and says it needs to come down. It starts to lower and finally settles down
blocking access to the back. GM Max
McGillicutty said that Shane has no business being here until the PPV. Shane corrects him and says that Sullivan was
the one who started all this but HE will be the one to finish it. Just then, SCW Triple Threat composing of
Elias, Lee Moriarty and Sam Adonis hit the ring and ambush Tommy beating him
down. Shane is laughing hard. The HCW fans boo them for attacking one of
their own. Shane tells Triple Threat to
bring Tommy to the stage. Tommy, beaten
down from the numbers, is dragged up the ramp and to the stage. Shane tells Tommy that HE (Shane) is the
original innovator of violence and will show everyone that. Tommy tries to get up but Triple Threat beats
him down again and Shane gets in some good shots. Max is on the mic calling for HCW
reinforcements but no one can get past the giant X. Tommy is then tied to the X and he struggles
to get free but to no avail. His arms
and legs are tied to different parts of the X.
Shane then tells the crane crew to raise the X. It gets lifted about 5 feet off the stage and
Tommy is hanging there. A few people
made it through under the X but Triple Threat dispatched them all. The show comes to an end with Tommy tied to
the X and Shane cackling like a hyena.
The
Hall of Fame Ceremony and Fanfest are up next.
