HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2024 #990 – 3/16/24

Hello wrestling fans and welcome to another installment of the HCW Wrestling Newsletter.  In our last episode, we saw the show come to an end with rivals Jack Lumber and the World Champion the Wicked Prophet coming to blows once again.  There is a lot of bad blood between these two that just doesn’t seem like it’s going to get resolved anytime soon.

Pyro goes off and just as the show is ready to begin, all too familiar music hits and the fans begin a “You Suck” chant as Gold Medal Olympian and SCW Heavyweight Campion Kurt Angle comes out.  He relishes in the chants as he makes his way into the ring.  He asks for a mic.  Kurt says that he and the Morningstar still have unfinished business and challenges Tommy to a match here in HCW in two weeks.  The fans pop.  Kurt says that in the meantime, there are two men who also have unfinished business with Tommy and out comes Lee Moriarty and Sam Adonis.  The duo make their way to the ring to a mixed reaction from the crowd.  Kurt says Sam and Lee were taken out during the last meeting and didn’t get to take part in the match.  Kurt says Elias stayed home for this and says he’ll even go to the back if Tommy leaves the Ambassador backstage.  Kurt tells Tommy to grab a tag team partner and they can have their match right now.

The music changes and out comes Tommy ‘the Morningstar’ Sullivan.  Tommy is booed as he stands on stage.  He waits momentarily until we hear “GUMBO 730 MEANS IT’S…” and it’s shut off and replaced with “VAMPIRE LUNGES FOR EVERYBODY” (someone inadvertently played the wrong intro) and out comes Dr. Red Fang.  Fang is booed even more heavily than Tommy was.  The duo begin walking to the ring and Tommy takes a mic and says that he’ll agree to the match and tells Kurt to get his scrawny ass out of here.  Our first match is ready to go.

Match #1:  Tommy Sullivan & Dr Red Fang vs Sam Adonis and Lee Moriarty

In the heart of Columbia, SC, the Heritage Championship Wrestling (HCW) arena bore witness to a masterclass in devious tactics and strategic mayhem as four infamous heels collided in a wrestling extravaganza that defied expectations. The air was charged with tension as Tommy "The Morningstar" Sullivan, Triple Threat - Lee Moriarty, Dr. Red Fang, and Triple Threat - Sam Adonis engaged in a relentless battle for supremacy.

The match began with a sinister energy.  The four heels, known for their underhanded tactics and mastery of mind games, engaged in a relentless dance of deception, each vying for supremacy in a match where rules seemed more like suggestions.

From the onset, Tommy "The Morningstar" Sullivan and Triple Threat - Lee Moriarty set the tone with a series of high-impact moves and double teaming tactics. Dr. Red Fang entered the fray, bringing his own brand of offensive prowess, leading to a dynamic exchange of points and strategic maneuvers.

The 2nd minute saw the cunning double teaming of Tommy "The Morningstar" Sullivan and Dr. Red Fang, executing moves like the Necromancer's Delight Half Nelson Choke and the VAMPIRE LUNGE, racking up points and leaving the audience in awe of their calculated synergy.

The action quickly spilled outside the ring, transforming the ringside area into an improvised battleground. The unforgiving steel barricades and concrete floor became witnesses to the brutal exchanges and calculated maneuvers these heels employed to gain the upper hand. The crowd, torn between boos and cheers, was treated to a spectacle of ruthless cunning that transcended the confines of traditional wrestling norms.

The match saw moments of intense collaboration, as Tommy "The Morningstar" Sullivan and Dr. Red Fang formed a formidable duo, executing tandem moves to maximize their impact.  Triple Threat - Sam Adonis, not one to be left behind, countered with his own offensive onslaught, creating a volatile mix of alliances and betrayals within the ring.

In the 10th minute, Tommy "The Morningstar" Sullivan executed a German Suplex, showcasing his technical prowess, while in the 13th minute, a Brainbuster from Triple Threat - Sam Adonis added another layer of brutality to the contest. The 15th minute saw a dramatic pin attempt by Tommy "The Morningstar" Sullivan, only to be thwarted by Triple Threat - Sam Adonis' resilient kick-out.

The 18th minute marked a high point as Tommy "The Morningstar" Sullivan and Dr. Red Fang double-teamed with Triple Threat - Lee Moriarty and Triple Threat - Sam Adonis, executing a flurry of moves like a Moonsault and a FLYING ELBOW RAM, leaving the audience in awe of the collaborative chaos that unfolded.

As the intensity reached its zenith, chaos reigned supreme. The referee, desperately trying to maintain order, found himself unable to control the escalating bedlam. With the four heels locked in a relentless brawl outside the ring, it became evident that this contest would not end within the standard confines of a wrestling match.

The official decision came in the form of a double disqualification, leaving the outcome of the match shrouded in controversy. The boos and jeers from the audience filled the arena as the realization set in that there would be no clear winner on this night.   As the four men (or 3 men and a bot) fought to the back, the unresolved tension between them would only fuel any future encounters.  The echoes of this tumultuous match would resonate through the corridors of HCW, forever etching its place in the intricate tapestry of the promotion's history.

Match #2:  Owen Zestwell w/Julius Squeezer vs Baron von Blood.

The next match is ready to get underway.  Baron von Blood comes out to massive boos as he goose-steps to the ring.  He gets in the ring and berates the fans at ringside until the music changes and out comes Owen Zestwell.  The fans pop for the man in Orange as he makes his way to the ring.  He’s accompanied by his tag team partner Julius Squeezer who is there to prevent any outside interference.  Just as the match began, Dennis Marshall came down to sit at commentary.  Baron begins jaw jacking with him and Owen just dismantles him.  At the 8 minute mark, Owen locks in a headlock and rolls it into a pin.  Baron gets his foot on the rope but Dennis rushes over and knocks it off allowing Owen to get the 3 count.  Owen racks up another win and leaves with Julius.  Baron complains to the ref and sees Dennis on the outside of the ring.  He jumps out and begins fighting with Dennis.  The two brawl all the way to the back.

Match #3:  Chloe Parker vs Missy Chick

Missy Chick makes her way out first to a mixed reaction from the crowd.  Chloe also comes out to a similar reaction.  The two don’t wait long for the match to begin.  Missy begins by hitting a diving back elbow.  Chloe comes back with a double underhook suplex.  Chloe hits a piledriver and Missy hits a running double axe handle smash.  Chloe hits a demonic driver.  Chloe connects with another double underhook suplex and Missy hits another set of axe handle smashes.  Missy drops Chloe with a running clothesline. Chloe hits a DDT and goes for the pin getting a two count.  Missy then locks in a guillotine choke and she manages to get Chloe to tap out.  Missy gets the comeback win via submission in an 8 minute hard fought match.  She gets a nice pop as she heads to the back.  Chloe follows shortly thereafter.

Hardcore Champion Mr. X said that he wasn’t interested in wrestling tonight so he’s ok with his non-title match being bumped to next week but he did have this to share.

I hear the talk that I can’t tell time.  Can’t read the schedule.  Was never meant to be on the card. Got bumped.  That’s a load of horse****.  When I roll into town in the ol’ Silverado, everyone takes notice, men get queasy as their ladies go weak in the knees and attendance at the show goes up!  There’s a little something at the bottom of each card that says “card subject to change” and let me tell you illiterates what that means — it means that if I’m not getting paid, I’m not going on.  I get a stack of crisp hundos or I’m leaving the arena to find some cold beers at a reasonable price.  So I left.  Pure and simple. And then this podunk promoter made up excuses before he realized his mistake and got his act together with a pool of money from the local ladies on “the main stage” then called back.  Ya saw what I did.  Can’t tell time?  I hit O.P. like I was punchin’ a time clock and now he’s so dazed, he spells it P.O. — Punched. Out.   So take a good look at who’s standing here as the Hardcore Champ and gonna be on the marquee night after night after night making this promotion a whole lotta money!   (Mr. X puts the belt on his shoulder, crosses his arms in an “X” and walks off)

Match #4:  Duke Knight vs Talon McFrost.  Negropolis shows up.

The match started off strong for Duke who began taking the match to Talon but after Talon hit the Cold Stone, the match began to go his way.  Duke eventually countered and wrestled control of the match back.  At the 17 minute mark, Duke hit Talon with a dropkick and he was able to make the cover and get the 1-2-3.  Duke gets the win and the fans pop huge for him but things go south when Negropolis rushes in from the crowd and attacks Duke.  Duke manages to fight back but just as he started to get the upper hand, Negropolis took off and left through the crowd.  Duke stayed in the ring stewing but eventually made his way to the back.

Backstage, the World Tag Team Champions the New Sicilians – Dirty Dick Albano and Vicious Vinnie Albano are with their manager Pierre Boulay.  Pierre says he’s speaking for his team.  He says that the Albano Mafia has been running wild all over HCW and their dominance continues tonight.  He adds that he sincerely hopes that a team worthy of challenging the Albano Clan surfaces soon or they may not have any opponents for the PPV.  The trio walk off.

Match #5: the Main Event: Tag Team Title Match – New Sicilians vs the Hubers

The Hubers – Butch and Ferb – make their way out first and get a mixed reaction from the crowd due to who they are challenging tonight.  They make their way to the ring and await their challengers.  The music changes and out comes Pierre followed by the World Tag Team Champions the New Sicilians.  They are booed heavily as they make their way down to the ring.  Dick and Vinnie separately almost hit a couple of fans who were mouthing off to them.  Cooler heads prevailed and they made their way into the ring.  They hand the titles to the ref and go right after the Hubers.

With that, the show comes to an end.  Stay tuned as there is more to come.
