Welcome to 2024 – a review of the end of 2023.
Hello fans and
welcome to another installment of the HCW Wrestling Newsletter. Tonight, we have a special show for you. Well, GM Max McGillicutty was due for some
well-deserved time off. While his time
was cut short due to him being needed back in the HCW fold, he was able to get
some details planned. The biggest piece
of news is that HCW’s 1000th show will actually take place during this years’
Critical Mass PPV. Equally important is
that this year, Critical Mass will expand to 4 days (5 if you include the HOF
and Fanfest). We are working on some
great things for that show so as things get ironed out, we will be sure to
share all that with you, the fans.
HCW is always
working to find the best wrestlers in the world to come wrestle for HCW. Max said that there is one person whom he’s
heard a lot about, and the hopes are that if he agrees to a contract, we may
see him in April after his other commitments have been filled.
Dr. Red Fang, a
vampire dog/bot/AI said he’s heard about competition from pilot-something and
some other chat programs. He said that
if any of these other bots get involved in HCW, he will personally chew them up
and spit them out. He did provide us
with a quote: “VAMPIRE LUNGES FOR ANY
ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE” (besides him/it, of course).
Dominic Marconi
was not successful this time in his quest for gold due to interference from the
Albano Family but he has renewed motivation for driving them out of HCW. After Dominic’s match against TV Champion the
Banker and during the after-match beatdown by the Clan, two wrestlers came to
his aid…’The Magnificent One’ Juan Raul Fargo and masked man Alejandro
Guerrero. Both JR and “Lee” agreed that
the Albano Family is a menace and will team with Dominic to help rid HCW of the
vermin. Alejandro has stated that since
the Albano Clan wants to “Lie, cheat, and steal”, they will have no problem
fighting Fire with Fire.
When Pierre Boulay
found out that the masked man who joined forces with Dominic Marconi and JR
Fargo was Alejandro Guerrero, he referred to him as “the Spice-less Sensation”
hinting that he will never live up to the Guerrero Family’s legacy.
With the Albano
Clan carrying the gold (Tag Team Championship - the New Sicilians) and the Six
Man Tag Team titles (Aldo, Carlo and Rigg A Mortis)), the Albano Clan continue
their domination of the sport. They have
said they are not done, and no title is safe.
Luciana became the
Ladies Champion adding more gold to the Family.
Korbi Kong has stated that it was not over between them and Korbi will
be coming back for her title and she may have a surprise in store for Luciana
and the wrestling world.
Three wrestler’s
contracts ended at the end of 2023 – former co-holders of the Six Man titles
Casper Wyoming and Phantom Frank and Maximillian Redbeard. All of them wanted to explore wrestling
around the world. We wish them all the
best in their future endeavors and let them know the door is always open for a
return.
With their
departure, Dennis Marshall has stated that he was ready for a singles title
run. Best of luck to you.
Jack Lumber lost
the US title to the man he won it from – Wilber Townsend. During the match, Wilber donned his creepy
half-melted Pennywise the Clown mask and Jack lost focus which cost him the
match. I don’t think Jack is done in his
pursuit of the US title but he may also be ready to get back into the World
Title hunt.
Rumor has it that
Ruth Heartless is looking for new talent to bring into her stable. She has the Banker who is dangerous as it is
but what more is she looking for?
Regarding the
Banker, there was a glitch in the communication between the TV Champion and his
manager. Not sure what happened there
but they appear to be back on the same page.
Tommy ‘the
Morningstar’ Sullivan dominated in his 7 Levels of Hell Match against Noah
‘High Flyer’ Murphy and he captured the Hardcore title. With the Ambassador at his side, the
Morningstar can set his sights on which other title he wants to go after.
The mysterious Mr.
X continues to confound (and have his matches shifted to different days even
though he was scheduled to wrestle).
He’s almost at a breaking point and has told HCW management that things
will need to change, or he will get angry and no one will like him when he’s
angry.
Apollo Gyze did
the unthinkable. After screaming “I
Quit”, he followed it up with two additional words…”I apologize”. Apollo has gone on record stating that he
never apologized and that someone piped it in over the loudspeakers. Apollo says he will never apologize.
The Ladies division grows with the addition of
a friend of Violet Valkyrie, Luna Shadow.
The
two people who the agent brought to GM Max McGillicutty’s office are two of the
newest member to the HCW roster: Jax Brenner and his valet Molly Mason.
Introducing
at 6ft 8 inches weighing 295 pounds, from the Alaskan Tundra, The Alaskan
Wildman Jax Brenner!!!
Jax
is from a family who for several generations have lived almost completely off
the grid in the wilds of Alaska. His
great grandfather and grandfather were Gold miners and prospectors. He was bred from very hardy stock, you have
to be really tough to live in the wilds of Alaska and this clan is as tough as
they come. Jax is the biggest and
strongest of his line so far but unfortunately not strong enough... You see, one fateful day a rogue band of
Sasquatch attacked the Brenner homestead.
Jax's mother, father and younger brother were killed and his younger
sister was taken. Jax himself sustained
heavy damage in the clash but in the end, he drove the Sasquatch clan away when
he used his great grandfather's pickaxe and killed the big Alpha male by
driving it into the beast's heart. Jax was
in a real bad way after the conflict and he had to literally crawl to the
nearest road where he was found, picked up and taken to a hospital by a truck
driver. Jax went through several
surgeries to put his broken body back together and was in the hospital for a
long time before making his recovery.
In the hospital he was being cared for by Nurse Molly, who took a liking
to the big man.
When
he fully recovered, he went back to his homestead accompanied by Nurse Molly
only to find it to have been completely leveled in what must have been an act
of revenge by the rogue Sasquatch clan for killing their leader. He had no way to track them or even a way to
look for his lost sister. Molly
convinced him to come back to civilization and stay with her until he could
figure out what to do with himself since he had nothing left to go back
to.
One
evening soon after, Molly and Jax were at her place watching HCW wrestling on
TV because Molly had always been a big fan of it. Jax got engrossed in the action in the ring
and that was when Molly had the idea that maybe he should try to become a
wrestler! After all, if Jax could fight
a 9 foot tall 600 pound Sasquatch and live, the guys in the HCW shouldn't be a
problem for him! When Jax saw the
championship gold that was being carried around by the top guys, he decided
that he would continue his family's legacy of chasing gold in a new way, inside
the squared circle!
Molly
took Jax to the next HCW show going down in Columbia where they sat in the
front row. Eyes were on the beautiful
young Molly and the big man that was with he r from the start and when Baron von Blood
started mocking Jax and Molly after the match and Jax stood up and got in his
face, the cameras were on them all. Baron
talked trash to Jax and it was literally answered with a roar of fury from the
beastly looking man. The Baron backed
off and made his way to the back all the while keeping an eye on such an
uncouth individual. The GM of HCW was
in the back watching it all and immediately told one of his agents to go fetch
the 2 standout fans that made a scene on his show because he was seeing dollar
signs. When the agent retrieved them and
brought them to the GM, he asked them what their story was. Upon hearing the incredible tale that Jax
relayed about who he was and what led him here, the GM immediately offered a
lucrative developmental contract to train them both to be future stars of the
HCW! This leads to the debut of the
Alaskan Wildman Jax Brenner and his valet Nurse Molly TONIGHT!
He
wears a fur pelt on his head and shoulders that he claims is made of Sasquatch
hide. For signature moves, he uses the
Sasquatch Stomp (Garvin Stomp) and also a gutwrench powerbomb he calls the
Bigfoot Bomb but his finisher he calls the Pickaxe which is like Ivan Putski's
Polish Hammer, a double axehandle smash to the chest with his massive forearms.
With
that introduction, our show is ready to get underway.

Match #2: Luna Shadow vs Kimberly Kiccsass
The arena buzzed with anticipation
as Luna Shadow, the adored fan favorite and friend of Violet Valkyrie, faced
off against the notorious heel, Kimberly Kiccsass. The crowd roared with a mix
of cheers and boos, setting the stage for an intense confrontation.
In the early moments of the match,
Kimberly Kiccsass seized control, executing a jaw-dropping Flying Hurricanrana. The
momentum swung back and forth as Luna showcased her resilience, reversing
Kimberly's Christo with a breathtaking Eclipse Dropkick.
The battle unfolded with Luna
executing a powerful Twilight. Kimberly responded with a strategic Whip into
Rope. The crowd was treated to a display
of skill and strategy, with Luna delivering Midnight Moonsaults and locking in
the Abyssal Lock, while Kimberly retaliated with impactful slams and
submissions.
In the climactic 17th minute, Luna
seized an opportunity to potentially clinch the match. After a relentless
assault, she executed a game-changing Twilight Powerbomb, aiming to put
Kimberly away. Luna went for the pin, and as the referee's hand hit the mat for
the count, the crowd held their breath. However, Kimberly kicked out at the
last moment, keeping the match alive.
The decisive moment arrived in the
18th minute. Luna, undeterred by Kimberly's resilience, unleashed a spectacular
Starafall DDT. The crowd erupted as Luna, with determination in her eyes, went
for the pin. The referee counted to three, declaring Luna Shadow the victor in
her debut match in HCW with the Starafall DDT, a move that solidified her
triumph over Kimberly Kiccsass.
The cheers echoed through the arena
as Luna celebrated her hard-earned victory, the absence of Violet Valkyrie at
ringside not dampening the excitement. The crowd acknowledged Luna's skill and
perseverance, making it a memorable night in the world of professional
wrestling.
Match #3: Starbuck Steel vs TNT
TNT
makes his way out first to a chorus of boos from the crowd. As soon as the music changed, the former
World Champion Starbuck Steel comes out to a massive pop from the crowd. Starbuck was looking to avenge his quick loss

gets the win in dominating fashion. He
then asks for a mic. He says he was
injured during his World title match and said, after his World Title loss to
the Wicked Prophet, that he wanted a rematch.
He is willing to do what it takes to make it happen.
We
cut backstage and are with Billy Robbins.
Billy says tonight, he challenges for the Hardcore title, a title he’s
never held but tonight, he brings home the gold. He says he is not discounting the champion
but promises to bring it all to the ring tonight.
Match #4: The Hubers vs the Smashers
In a grueling tag team matchup, the
despised Smashers faced off against the equally villainous Butch and Ferb
Huber. The tension in the arena was palpable as both teams vied for supremacy.
The opening minutes set the tone as
Smasher #1 initiated a forearm smash, only for Butch Huber to neutralize the
attack. The tag-outs and strategic moves unfolded, with each team showcasing
their resilience. Ferb Huber's European Uppercut clashed with Smasher #2's Knee
Lift, setting the pace for a fierce encounter.
As the match progressed, double
teaming maneuvers intensified, showcasing the ruthlessness of both teams. The
Smashers, known for their underhanded tactics, targeted Butch and Ferb with a
barrage of offensive moves, including a double-team stomp and steel smasher.
In the 17th minute, Butch and Ferb
attempted a decisive double team, unleashing a series of powerful moves.
However, Smasher #2 made a timely save, preventing the Hubers from securing
victory.
The back-and-forth continued, with
both teams executing high-impact moves and countering each other's attacks. In
the 25th minute, Smasher #2 capitalized on the opportunity, executing a steel
smasher and attempting a pin but only got a 2 count.
The match reached its 30th-minute
mark with neither team able to secure a definitive victory. The referee
declared the contest a draw, leaving the audience on the edge of their seats.
The despised Smashers and the cunning Huber duo had fought tooth and nail,
resulting in a deadlock that neither team was able to benefit from.
We
cut backstage with an interview with the Hardcore Champion Tommy Sullivan aka
The Morningstar and his manager The Ambassador.
[The backstage area is dimly lit,
the Hardcore Championship glinting ominously in the background. Tommy 'the
Morningstar' Sullivan stands tall, the title slung over his shoulder, flanked
by his manager, the Ambassador. The duo exude an air of arrogance and menace as
they prepare to address the audience.]
Tommy Sullivan: Ladies and
gentlemen, welcome to the domain of the Morningstar, where pain is delivered on
demand and suffering is an art form. Now, listen up, because I've got a little
history lesson for those who might have forgotten or are just too ignorant to
know.
[The Ambassador smirks, nodding in
agreement as Sullivan begins to rattle off his impressive list of
accomplishments.]
Tommy Sullivan: The Morningstar,
yours truly, has conquered every hill in this industry, leaving a trail of
shattered bodies and broken dreams. Once upon a time, I ruled the roost in the
NAPWA as the NAPWA Landell Champion, the epitome of excellence in the squared
circle. An International Champion? Check. A 6-Man Tag Team Champion? You
betcha.
[The Hardcore Champion pauses, a
wicked smile playing on his lips as he continues.]
Tommy Sullivan: Now let's fast
forward to my conquests in the Super Indy Revolution. Not one, but two-time
Super Indy Revolution Champion, because no one else could keep up. And remember
that name, Corey Graves – my partner in crime, my tag team comrade. Together,
we raised the bar as Super Indy Revolution Tag Team Champions.
[The Ambassador nods approvingly,
emphasizing the significance of each achievement.]
Tommy Sullivan: We're not done,
folks. Super Indy Northern Champion? That's another accolade etched into
history. Quaker State Champion? Oh, you better believe it. And then there's my
dominion over Steel City – a two-time Steel City Champion and, as of June 19,
2019, the reigning, defending, undisputed Steel City Champion (he puts the SCW
belt over his other shoulder).
[The Hardcore Champion smirks,
tapping the championship belts on his shoulders for emphasis.]
Tommy Sullivan: Tag teams, you say?
Oh, I've conquered that realm too. With Corey Graves, Danhausen, and Brody
King, I've claimed the Steel City Tag Team Championship four times. No one can
match the brutality and synergy we bring to the ring.
[He pauses, savoring the moment
before delving into his other triumphs.]
Tommy Sullivan: Steel City
Television Champion – add that to the ever-growing list of titles that bear my
name. And don't even get me started on tournaments and special matches. Chamber
of Carnage? Won it. Sammartino Cup? Mine. Iron City Iron Man Tournament? Of
course. Undefeated in my creation, the 7th Circle of Hell.
[The camera captures the intensity
in Sullivan's eyes as he leans in, addressing the viewers directly.]
Tommy Sullivan: So, as you watch me
stand here, the Hardcore Champion, understand this – I am the embodiment of
dominance, the Morningstar who casts a shadow over every opponent daring to
step into my realm. Consider this a warning to all those who think they can
challenge my supremacy. The Morningstar's legacy will continue to burn bright,
and in the end, it's not just about winning championships; it's about leaving a
path of devastation for all to remember.
[The duo exits the scene, leaving
behind an aura of foreboding as the Hardcore Champion and his manager disappear
into the shadows.]
Match #5 – the
Main Event: Hardcore title match: Tommy
Morningstar Sullivan vs Billy Robbins
Billy
Robbins comes out first to a nice pop from the crowd. He makes his way to the ring shaking hands
with the fans and enters the ring. The
music changes and out comes the Ambassador first followed by the Hardcore
Champion Tommy ‘the Morningstar’ Sullivan.
The crowd’s reaction changes to boos as the champion makes his way to
the ring. Tommy comes out not only with
the HCW Hardcore Title but also with the Steel City Heavyweight Championship
that he won (and has yet to lose) at his old stomping grounds of Steel City
Wrestling. He enters the ring and stands
right in front of Billy and holds both of the titles right in his face. The ref announces that the rules of the match
will be Full Metal Mayhem rules. Tommy
attacks Billy right as the bell rings and a cage lowers around the ring but
Billy gets the upper hand.

The ref goes to hand it to Tommy but the Ambassador takes it and
lambasts the ref. The Ambassador then
straps the title around Tommy’s waist and raises the Morningstar’s hand high.
The fans boo heavily and the duo just stand tall as the cage is
raised. He takes the Steel City
Heavyweight title…and hurls it into a trash can by the announce table. A hush comes over the crowd; stunned at what
he just did and then they let him have it by throwing stuff at him (half full
cups of beer, soda along with half eaten hot dogs and boxes of popcorn. Tommy leaves the ring. The Ambassador, realizing what a mistake that
may have been, rushes to retrieve the belt from the trashcan and hurries after
Tommy.
With
that, the show comes to an end. Our
next show taking place this coming Saturday will be our Supershow. We will have new members to the roster debut
in ring…Duke Knight, Alejandro Guerrero and Dixie Caverns. More to follow so stay tuned.
