Hello fans and welcome back to another installment of the HCW Wrestling Newsletter. Tonight, we will hear from the World Tag Team Champions the Steel Curtain in regards to the attack by the Freedom Fighters and Dennis Marshall will address comments made from the Rock at the last show. Now, let’s get this party started.
First
up, 2 members of the Snake Pit, Niven and Tobias Snake come out to booing from the
crowd. They do the fist bump on the
stage and then make their way to the ring.
They jaw jack with the fans and then the music changes and out comes
Maximillian Redbeard and Superquake Ferguson.
The fans pop for the two favorites as they make their way down to the
ring. Both men climb the steps and then
step over the top rope to enter the ring.
Maximillian loosens up a bit and the match begins. The Snake Pit focused on Ferguson which kept
Redbeard out of the match for most of the show.
He finally makes the hot tag at the 20 min mark but is immediately double
powerbombed through a ringside table. Superquake
goes to the outside and chases the Pit off Redbeard. He then picks him up and brings him back into
the ring putting him in their corner. He
then tags himself in and rolls Redbeard out of the ring. The Pit then double team Superquake many
times over the next few minutes. Tobias
ends up getting the pin after hitting the Dirty Deeds Double Arm DDT in the
center of the ring. The Snake Pit are
victorious. Superquake and Redbeard had
to be helped from the ring. (27 min)
Backstage,
Dennis Marshall says that he was honored and humbled by the Rock showing up and
letting him participate in dispatching Dash Woodbrick. He did not expect the Rock to hit him with a
Rock Bottom. He may think the Rock is
the bees knees but Rocky crossed the line.
Dennis says that even though Rock is a big Hollywood actor now, he wants
him in the ring at the PPV. I guess we’ll
see if Rock accepts.
We
head back to the ring for our next match.
Chloe Parker came out first followed by her opponent Penny Hall. This one wasn’t much to write home
about. Although a future title show at the
Ladies Title was on the line, Chloe wanted it more and was able to score the
pin at the 19 minute mark after hitting a bulldog. Chloe says she looks forward to meeting the
champ. (19 min)
King
Rad Gumbo is backstage and is being asked about the Reigning Royalty PPV in
just a week when he is interrupted by Barry Morningstar. Barry says that he is challenging the King to
a match tonight. Once he beats him, he
will go on to the Rumble for Royalty and will secure the spot where he will
once again defeat Gumbo and become the new King of HCW. Gumbo starts laughing. Barry hits the King with a cheap shot but it
was broken up pretty quickly. Gumbo says
Barry gets his 2 minutes of fame.
Barry
Morningstar comes out first and is booed heavily. He threatens to hit a couple of the fans but
holds back. He gets in the ring and
mocks the fans and makes fun of the King.
His stchick is interrupted when we hear “GUMBO 730 MEANS ITS SUPPA TIME,
BITCH” and out comes the King of HCW ‘the Ragin Cajun’ Rad Gumbo. Gumbo is
accompanied by his manager Ms. Alexandria.
They make their way to the ring and in very unlike a royal, Gumbo
attacks Barry starting this one off.
Barry took the lead for the first 10 minutes of the match but after
that, he got in maybe one or two offensive moves. The rest was all Gumbo. Rad practically destroyed Barry for the next
7 minutes and finally put him away after hitting the Cottonmouth Clutch. After the ref raised Rad’s arm in victory, he
and his manger left the ring not giving Barry a second thought.
World
Champion Jack Lumber defends the title tonight against 5th Column
member Baron von Blood. Jack says that
even though he’s not looking past Blood, he knows that the Wicked Prophet is
out there playing his mind games. Jack
says that he is ready and if Prophet can really make it to the #1 contender
spot, he’d be delighted for another match against his arch nemesis.
Back
in the ring, we are ready for the first of tonight’s title matches. First, Leiton Snake comes out and is
booed. Leiton gets in the ring and says
that tonight sees him become the new Hardcore Champion. He says that the only way to take down a
rabid vampire dog is to chain him up.
Leiton says that the rules for tonight’s match are steel chain rules
where the two of them will be locked but separated by 8 foot of steel. The music changes and we hear “VAMPIRE LUNGES
FOR EVERYBODY” and out comes the Ambassador and the Hardcore Champion Dr. Red
Fang. The Ambassador keeps Fang under
control and hands the title to the ref.
The ref hands the end of the chain to the Ambassador and he secures Fang
with it while the ref took care of Leiton.
Leiton dominated the match but then things turned around for the Vampire
Dog.

Dr.
Red Fang gets the win and retains the title in questionable fashion. Since he removed his dog dollar, Leiton
complained and demanded a rematch for the title. The ref said he made the call he did but he
will take the complaint up to management.
We
go backstage again and meet up with the World Tag Team Champions the Steel
Curtain. Buzz says that it wasn’t enough
that they each beat up the FF but they had to attack them with chairs. Starbuck says that two can play that game and
at the show in 3 day (the Go Home show), they will give the FF a shot at the
titles in a Tables, Ladders and Chairs rules match. Buzz says “May the best team win” before
laughing and Starbuck finished up with “Word”.
It
is time for our main event. First, music
plays and 5th Column member Baron von Blood makes his way out. He is booed heavily as the German marches
down to the ring. Blood gives the fans a
“salute” and that got them all riled up.
Blood enters the ring and waits. “Choppin
Wood and Lookin Good” blasts through the speakers and out comes World Champion
Jack Lumber. The pop is so loud it’s deafening,
Jack comes out and holds the title high as pyro goes off behind him. He begins the trek to the ring and stops by
the Lumber Lounge to shake hands with the fans there before continuing his way
to the ring. He enters the ring and
climbs the turnbuckle holding his title high.
He steps down and hands the belt to the ref. The match begins and as expected, Jack
dominated the match although Baron got in a few good shots and had a couple of
near falls. We join the match at the 18
min mark.
