Hello fans and welcome back to another installment of the HCW Wrestling Newsletter. GM Max McGillicutty comes out first thanking the fans for attending this SOLD OUT show. He promised them a surprise and it will deliver…but not till the end of the show. Speaking of which, let’s get this show on the road.
First
up, we see the Anytime/Anywhere Champion Catalina Harper make her way down to
the ring. She says she is willing to
take on anyone for the title. The music
hits and out comes Derek Deveraux. He
makes his way to the ring and says he accepts the challenge. This one is over before it ever gets
started. As soon as the bell rang, Derek
charged at Catalina only to ‘hit a brick wall’ and fell to the mat. Catalina then locked in the Catalina Crab and
Derek tapped out. HOLY CRAP. Catalina gets the win in under 30
seconds. She is handed the title back
and the fans pop. Derek leaves and some
of the fans chant “You tapped out” to him.
He seems perturbed and walks away.
Catalina leaves shortly thereafter.
Well,
that was unexpectedly short. I guess we’re
ready for our next match.
First,
Freedom Fighter Flash comes out to boos from the crowd. He makes his way to the ring and enters. He starts to holler for his opponent whom he
thinks is taking his sweet time. The
music changes and out comes the Steel Curtain.
Buzz and Starbuck stand on the stage as the fans cheer. They look at each other asking who gets to
wrestle here. They do Rock, Paper,
Scissors and Buzz wins and he decides to take the match. He heads to the ring and Starbuck heads to
the back. Justice starts off strong but
Buzz eventually finds his footing and takes the fight to his challenger. At the 14 minute mark, Buzz hits the ropes
and nails Justice with a Superman punch.
He goes for the pin and gets the 3 count. Buzz wins the match and the fans pop huge for
him. He leaves the ring and heads to the
back. Flash leaves shortly thereafter.
In the back, the other Freedom Fighter Justice is fighting with Starbuck
Steel. He levels Starbuck with a steel
chair and then as soon as Buzz makes his way to the back, Justice blasts him
too with the chair. Justice grabs
Starbuck and drags him to the ring for the next match.
Starbuck
must have been playing possum. As soon
as they got to the ring, Starbuck began unloading on Justice. Justice got in one offensive move. At the 4 minute mark, it looked like Justice
was pulling out a foreign object and was going to use it but got distracted as
Buzz and Flash came back out brawling.
Starbuck used the confusion and rolled up Justice in a small
package. The ref counted 1-2-3. Starbuck gets the win quickly. On the outside of the ring, Flash hurled Buzz
into the steel steps and then joined his partner in beating down Starbuck. Buzz got into the ring only to be dropped by
a double powerbomb. They did the same to
Starbuck and left the tag team champs laying in the ring. They then threw out a challenge that they wanted
the next tag team title shot. A bunch of
refs came out preventing any further chaos.
The Freedom Fighters were booed as they left. Starbuck and Buzz seemed to be ok and didn’t
require any assistance as they made their way to the back stewing.
Backstage,
the team of Tommy Lightning, Jake Montrose and Apollo Gyze say that they are
getting a shot at the Six Man titles tonight.
Tommy says the titles come to them and Apollo finishes with “no
apologies”.
Already
on her way to the ring for the next match is Lavender Gooms. She is booed and she gets into the ring. Music changes and out comes Hayley
Hailstorm. The fans pop huge for her and
she makes her way down and walks around the ring interacting with the fans
before entering the ring. Lavender
attacks her early taking control of the match.
5 minutes in, Hayley went for a shoulder tackle against the turnbuckles
but Lavender moved and Hayley hit the ringpost.
Lavender then went to the outside of the ring dragging Hayley into the
corner. She then smacked Hayley’s leg
against the steel post. She rolled back
in and locked Hayley in a Four Leg Clover Leglock. Hayley was in immense pain. She ended up passing out. The ref counted her shoulders down
1-2-3. Lavender gets the win and the
fans boo her for the unsportsmanlike conduct.
She is almost to the back when Hayley gets on the mic. She says that Lavender is s cheat and a
coward. She challenges her to a match at
the PPV in April. Lavender laughs and
accepts before walking behind the curtain.
Hayley limps to the back.
Backstage,
Wicked Prophet returns and throws out the challenge to Jack Lumber and says
that he will start a winning streak that Lumber won’t be able to ignore and
says that by the time we are ready for the Zero Hour PPV, he will be the #1
contender.
It
is time for the main event. First, Tommy
Lightning and ‘the Bounty Hunter’ Jake Montrose come out first. They are booed heavily. Joining them as his music blares out “APOLLO
GYZE DON’T APOLOGIZE” and out comes Apollo to join his teammates. The trio are booed as they head to the
ring. They don’t have to wait long as
the Six Man Tag Team Champions – Casper Wyoming, Dennis Marshall and Phantom
Frank come out to a nice pop from the crowd.
They head to the ring but are ambushed by their opponents. They begin fighting and Phantom Frank is put
through a table. Dennis is handcuffed to
the ringside barrier and both of them are effectively taken out of the match
leaving Casper on his own.

Tommy,
Jake and Apollo get the win and become the NEW Six Man Tag Team Champions. The fans don’t like this one single bit and
let them have it. The former champs head
to the back. For a few minutes, the trio
flip the fans off and things are about to get really rowdy until…
Music
hits and out comes THE ROCK!!! The Rock
IS HERE! He comes out and stands on the stage
as the arena erupts with applause. Rock
looks out to the fans and then cocks an eyebrow before making his way to the
ring. He climbs the steel steps and
enters the ring.
Apollo,
Jake and Tommy all take exception to being interrupted. Tommy starts to poke the Rock in the chest
with his finger and receives a Rock Bottom for his trouble. Apollo and Jake try to ambush the Rock but he
easily disposes of them. The fans pop
HUGE. It takes almost 3 minutes for the
crowd to settle down.
Rock
asks for a microphone. The GREAT ONE is
ready to speak.
The Rock: "Finally,
The Rock has come back to Columbia! Just as sure as The Rock for the very first
time stood in this arena and called Clarkus Kentus an ugly hermaphrodite; the
Rock is here tonight. Make no mistake The Rock is not here to rock the
boat. NO, NO, NO. The Rock is here because one man decided to
use the Rock’s catchphrase and didn’t ask the Rock for permission first so at
this time, I’d like to call down Dennis Marshall to join me in the ring.”
Dennis
Marshall makes his way out to a nice pop from the fans. The Rock holds the ropes open for him and
Dennis steps through. “As far as the
Rock is concerned, the Rock is mostly retired from wrestling so I am not here
to throw out challenges. The Rock is
here to hear you say the words “I’m sorry” for borrowing the Rock’s catchphrase
without proper credit. And don’t
worry…The Rock is not here to do exactly what he does best - layeth the
smacketh down.
And
the fact of the matter is this, is that The Rock knows you suffered a defeat
but you will get back on that horse. The Rock knows that HCW has some of the
best talent anywhere in the world so you and your little friends may have a
fight on your hands to get your belts back.”
We
are interrupted by Dash Woodbrick who makes his way to the ring. The Rock looks absolutely pissed off. Dash gets into the ring and smiles to the
audience and extends his hand to the Rock.
The Rock walks around Dash and just looks at him with an awkward look on
his face. “Who in the Blue Hell do you
think you are?” the Rock asks. Dash goes
to respond but the Rock cuts him off. He asks Dennis to state his name but before he opens
his mouth, the Rock responds with “IT DOESN’T MATTER WHAT YOUR NAME IS!” “The
thing is, you interrupted the Rock; you interrupted Dennis Marshall. No one interrupts the Rock…especially not a
jabroni like yourself. Before you open
your mouth, let the Rock play back a promo the Rock did back in the WWF all
those years ago.” He motions up to the
Omegatron.
A
very young Rock appears. “And even if
The Rock has got to beat Kurt Angle, which means, "I'm gonna drink a big
glass of milk, eat some chocolate chip cookies and maybe I'll take three
viagra". Or maybe The Rock has got to face Rikishi, beat Rikishi. "I
did it for The Rock. I did it for the people. I did it for... oh, shut your
mouth, you thong wearin' fatty.
Or
maybe The Rock has got to beat The Undertaker, the American Badass, beat him so
bad, that one more he'll raise up... "Rest in peace!" Or maybe The
Rock has got to beat Triple H himself, which means-uh, he's got to beat The
Game-uh, in the middle of the ring-uh. And he has a two dollar BLEEP for a wife-uh! Or maybe The Rock,
has gotta beat... Stone Cold Steve Austin. Which means I gotta get my pick-up
truck, drink some Steve-wisers, listen to some Backstreet Boys. And that's the
bottom line, 'cause the Great One said so!”
So
tonight, the Rock is gonna give you a present.”
He then drops the mic and nails Dash Woodbrick with a Rock Bottom. The Rock makes like he’s gonna do his “Rock
Elbow” thing but then Dennis asks if he can be the one to do it. The Rock steps aside. Dennis removes his elbow pad and throws it
into the audience. He then crosses his
arms, hits the ropes and drops a devastating elbow on Dash. Dash over-sells it and rolls out of the ring. Dennis gets up and the Rock extends his
hand. Dennis shakes it but the Rock
doesn’t let go. He picks up the mic and
says “You still didn’t apologize” and nails Dennis with the Rock Bottom. The fans pop huge as the Rock does his
catchphrase “If ya smell...what The Rock is cooking!!" The Rock then leaves. Dennis makes his way to the back.
What an amazing
show! We are sure this isn’t the last we
heard or seen of this so stay tuned.
