Hello fans and welcome to another installment of the HCW Wrestling Newsletter. As we build towards our PPV in just a few short weeks (be sure to get your tickets now…they are almost sold out), we expect to see our card solidify.
As
of this moment, two matches are set – the Ladies Title with Champion Violet
Valkyrie taking on the diabolical ‘Sassy’ Maxine DeVito and the Steel Curtain
defending the World Tag Team Titles against Tommy Lighting and ‘the Bounty
Hunter’ Jake Montrose.
Tonight,
we have more great action with 3 whopping title matches on the card: Wilber Townsend defends the Hardcore title,
Maximillian Redbeard defends the TV title and everyone’s favorite Lumberjack
the World Champion Jack Lumber defends his title. One person we will NOT be seeing tonight is
Dash Woodbrick. Based on his actions
from last week (putting Dennis Marshall into a dumpster and rolling it off the
stage), he was told to stay home. All
this and more so let’s get this party started.
Muscles
McGuire come out to a pop from the crowd.
He’s wearing his rainbow colored bull horns. He shakes hands with the fans and makes his
way to the ring. He doesn’t get to do
too much as the music changed abruptly and out comes the Wicked Prophet. Prophet has a mic in hand and he complains
about being a ‘curtain jerker’ (the first match of the night) and says that he’s
going to take it out on the schmuck in the ring. He drops the mic and powerwalks to the ring
as the fans rain a chorus of boos on him.
He gets into the ring and attacks McGuire. Prophet dominated the first part of the match
but as the match progressed, McGuire started to make a comeback. McGuire went for a Muscles Crush but Prophet
powered out of it and hit him with the Baptism of Fire. McGuire is down and out. Prophet made the lazy cover and the ref
counted 1-2-3. The Wicked Prophet gets the
win. He takes the mic from the announcer
and says that, once he’s done with Casper Wyoming, he’ll be flatter than a
pancake. The fans boo and Prophet drops
the mic and leaves. McGuire has to be
helped to the back. (13 min)
We
cut backstage for an interview with Catalina Harper. Catalina says that since she defeated Maxine
the other week, she should be the one getting the title match. Maxine barges in and tells Catalina she got
lucky and that she couldn’t do it again.
Maxine says she’s so confident that she’ll put her title match on the
line tonight. Catalina accepts and says
she’ll see her in the ring. A very evil
smile creeps up Maxine’s face.
Next
up is the TV title defense. First, the
loudspeakers blare out “APOLLO GYZE DON’T APOLOGIZE” and out comes the
always-annoying Apollo Gyze. He
threatens to hit some of the fans as he makes his way to the ring and the fans
continue to mock him. He gets into the
ring and continues to mock the crowd until the music changed and out comes the
TV Champion Maximillian Redbeard. The
fans pop for Maximillian as he makes his way to the ring. He steps over the top rope and stands in the center
of the ring holding his title high. He
hands it to the ref and the match begins.
The champ dominated ‘he who won’t apologize’ but not matter what he did,
Redbeard couldn’t get the 3 count. As
the match winded down, it was apparent Maximillian wasn’t going to get the win
so he just beat Apollo down as the final seconds played out. The bell rang bringing this one to a 20
minute time limit draw. Apollo slunk out
of the ring and made his way backstage.
Redbeard stayed and interacted with the fans before making his way to
the back. (20 min draw)
Hardcore
Champion Wilber Townsend says that the talent in HCW is at an all-time low so
tonight, he mixes things up and takes on Barry Morningstar from Devastation,
Inc. He knows that the Ambassador demands
the best so maybe, tonight, he gets a challenge. He then looks at the camera and tells Phantom
Frank to watch the match tonight. Maybe,
just maybe, he’ll learn something.
We
head back to the ring and Catalina Harper’s music hits and out comes the Cat
Lady Catalina. She gets a strong pop
from the crowd. She shakes hands with
the fans as she makes her way into the ring.
She doesn’t get much time to get the crowd moving as Maxine DeVito’s
music hits and the Sassy One saunters out to the stage and then slowly walks to
the ring. She stops half way down the
ramp and turns back to the stage. ‘Broken’
Korbi Kong slowly makes her way out and joins Maxine on the ramp. The two continue the walk to the ring. ‘Broken’ Korbi walks to the opposite side of
the ring while Maxine enters the ring.
The bell rings moments later kicking off the match.

Maxine
gets the win and retains her spot against Violet for the Ladies Title. Maxine laughs and directs ‘Broken’ Korbi to
follow her. They are half way up the
ramp when Catalina gets on the mic. She
says that she underestimated Maxine’s insanity.
As Maxine has a match at the PPV, she says she wants ‘Broken’ Korbi in 3
weeks at the Go-Home show. Maxine and
Korbi continue their walk to the back without responding. Catalina, frustrated, leaves heading to the
back.
Albert
Perez is backstage and he says tonight, the world of professional wrestling
changes when he defeats Jack Lumber to win the World Title. Albert continues to downplay the champs’
qualifications and finishes with his promising to walk out as the champion. He is then informed that he is NOT wrestling
for the World title but for the Hardcore title against Wilber Townsend. Perez is stunned and begins to stammer a bit before
walking off camera.
We
go back to the ring for our next match.
First, Albert Perez comes out and the fans mock him for totally messing
up who he was wrestling tonight. He
turns bright red and gets into the ring.
The music changes and out comes the Hardcore Champion Wilber
Townsend. The eerie music plays and
Wilber slowly walks out and heads to the ring.
He gets into the ring and declares the rules for tonight’s match will be
a ‘brass knuckles rules’ match. 5
minutes in, Phantom Frank came down and managed to get Wilber’s knucks away
from him and that gave Albert the advantage.
Phantom Frank thought his work was done so he left. A few minutes later, Wilber got Albert’s
knucks and used them on him. Within the
next 10 minutes, both men were a bloody mess.
At the 18 minute mark, Wilber hit the Go To Sleep but Albert hit Wilber
with the Darkness. Both men went down
and were slow to get up. Wilber got to
his feet first and hit Albert with the Go To Sleep again. He made the cover and got the 3 count. Wilber Townsend gets the win but he still seems
annoyed by Phantom Frank’s interference in his match. He makes his way to the back. Albert is helped to the back by the ref. (19 min)
World
Champion Jack Lumber is backstage. He says
he’s anxious to see who he will be facing for the title at the PPV but tonight,
he’s not looking past his opponent Barry Morningstar and his sneaky,
underhanded manager the Ambassador. Jack
says that he knows the Steel Curtain has issues with Devastation, Inc so
tonight, if they want to bring their chaos to his world, he will be
prepared. The fans though, are the
deciding factor and with the power of the Lumber Lounge behind him, he is sure
he will be victorious.
It’s
time for our Main Event. First, the
Ambassador comes out with Barry Morningstar and the duo head to the ring. They are booed as they entered the ring. They jaw jack with the fans until Jack Lumber’s
music hits. Barry is hollering towards the
stage but there is no Jack Lumber. Just
then, Jack appears in the crowd among his followers in the Lumber Lounge. Jack hops the ringside barrier and makes his
way to the ring. He climbs in and
removes his title before climbing the turnbuckle holding his title high. He steps down and points a warning finger at
the Ambassador. Jack hands his title to
the ref and the match kicks off.

Morningstar gets the win but the title does NOT change hands on a count
out. Jack Lumber is still the
champion. Barry complains to the ref and
even puts his hands on him. Bad move. Jack is right there and comes to the ref’s
aid. Jack whips Barry into the ropes and
knocks him silly with the Axe. Barry
rolls out of the ring and quickly makes his way up the ramp to avoid incurring
further wrath of the World Champion. Jack
remains in the ring and celebrates with the fans as the cameras stop rolling.
