Hello
fans and welcome back to another installment of the HCW Wrestling
Newsletter. Well, the Reign of Champions
PPV is right around the corner making this our Go-Home show. We have a stacked card with a couple of
contract signings as well as some special challenge matches. Dennis Marshall finally gets Dash Woodbrick
in an unforgiving steel cage. Before
that match though, Wicked Prophet and Casper Wyoming meet for the last time
with the shot at the US title on the line.
‘Broken’ Korbi Kong will be in action while ‘Sassy’ Maxine DeVito has
her contract signing with Ladies Champion Violet Valkyrie. All this and a lot more are coming your way
so let’s get this party started.
Pyro
goes off and the spotlights zip around the ring. As we get ready to start our show, the
loudspeakers blare out “APOLLO GYZE DON’T APOLOGIZE” and out comes Apollo. The fans boo the crap out of him as he walks
to the ring. He gives multiple fans the
double bird and enters the ring. He gets
on the mic and immediately complains about not being on the PPV tomorrow. He starts to pick on King Rad Gumbo for
sitting out the battle royal and only coming in within the last few moments of
the battle royal. This brings out King
Rad whose music heralded his appearance “GUMBO 730 MEANS ITS SUPPA TIME, BITCH”
and the King of HCW comes out to a huge pop from the crowd. Gumbo tells Apollo that if he’s got something
to say, he can say it to his face. Gumbo
walks to the ring and gets in. Apollo
says that Rad should not be getting the World title shot but in fact, he
should. Apollo says that if Apollo wants
a challenge, he’d be happy to oblige and will put his title shot coming this
Sunday on the line. Apollo agrees and it
looks like we have our first match of the evening.

Rad Gumbo gets the win and will be getting the title shot at Jack Lumber. Gumbo will meet Jack later tonight for the
contract signing.
Backstage,
Dash Woodbrick says he’s going to cripple Dennis Marshall for good within the
confines of the steel cage, take the TV title match and the next thing we’ll
know, he will be a champion. He laughs
as the camera goes black.
Our
next match begins and Ghee Buttersnaps makes his way to the ring to a nice
reception from the crowd. Some eerie
music starts to play and out comes Madman Mason accompanied by his manager the
Ambassador. Mason slowly walks to the
ring throwing sideways glances at the fans as he passes by. He climbs in the ring and at the Ambassador’s
signal, he goes right on the attack.
After a couple of minutes, Ghee took control of the match and dominated
for most of the match. At the 16 minute
mark, Ghee stuns Mason with an elbow smash only for the Ambassador to jump on
the apron providing a distraction. He
jumped off just as Ghee approached but turned around and got nailed by the
Psychotic Break. Mason goes for the pin
and gets the 3 count. Madman Mason,
member of Devastation, Inc. gets the win.
He and his manager stand over Ghee briefly before heading to the back.
Dennis
Marshall is being interviewed by Larry Morton.
Dennis tells him that Dash thinks he really knows him when in fact, Dash
knows absolutely nothing about him.
Dennis says he started off a fan turned commentator turned
wrestler. He’s been watching Dash since
he started. Dennis knows all of Dash’s
weaknesses (he whispers to Larry ‘that’s why I had to carry him as tag team
champion’) and despite what Dash thinks, it will not result in a win tonight, a
title match on Sunday or ‘crippling’ anyone.
Dennis walks off to go get ready for his match later on.
We
are heading back to the ring for our next match. First, ‘Broken’ Korbi Kong comes out with
‘Sassy’ Maxine DeVito. Maxine has a mic
in hand and she says that right after this match, she has a contract signing
for the Ladies title this coming Sunday against Violet Valkyrie and says she
has more than one surprise in store for ‘the little birdie’. The fans boo as the duo make their way to the
ring. Korbi enters the ring while
Maxine goes to stand on the other side.
The music changed and the fans pop as the Cat Lady Catalina Harper makes
her way out. She shakes hands with the
fans as she makes her way to the ring.
She climbs the steps and enters through the ropes keeping a wary eye on
Korbi and Maxine. The match begins. Maxine tried to get involved early but
Catalina shut her down and actually controlled most of the match. At the 11 minute mark, Maxine looked like she
was going to throw some sort of powder into Catalina’s face but she stopped
when Ladies Champion Violet Valkyrie came out.
Korbi got distracted which allowed Catalina to nail a huge forearm smash
and make the cover for the 3 count.
Catalina wins the match. Korbi
leaves the ring almost immediately and Catalina followed.
A
table was then set up in the ring for our first contract signing. GM Max McGillicutty makes his way out to a
nice reception from the crowd. He then
has Maxine and Violet sit at opposite ends of the table. Maxine has an evil grin on her face. Maxine takes the mic and says that she’s making
an amendment to their match. She says
that she will put her career on the line in exchange for 2 things:
1.
The
match must be no DQ;
2.
If
Violet loses, she can NEVER fight for the Ladies title EVER again.
It
doesn’t take long for Violet to nod and say she agrees. She signs the contract and hands it to
Maxine. Maxine starts to laugh
uncontrollably saying that Violet just ended her career. She then reveals that Violet’s career will
ALSO be on the line. Maxine quickly
signs the contract and the match is now official. The loser of their match will be out of a
job. Maxine promises that Violet will
leave just as broken and Korbi is.
Violet becomes enraged and attacks Maxine locking her in a Triangle
choke. She refuses to let go but
eventually a couple of referees pry her off Maxine. Violet leaves and heads to the back. Maxine, rubbing her throat, has an evil smile
cross her face and starts to laugh but then stifles it. She follows to the back.
We
go backstage with TV Champion Maximillian Redbeard. Redbeard says it doesn’t matter who wins
between Dash and Dennis as he will defend the title and will be the one to walk
away. Off camera, we hear “Oh Yeah?” and
then someone rushes in wielding a baking pan.
He begins smacking Redbeard with it.
He turns to the camera and its…OMG…the Banker is back. The Banker picks up Redbeard and nails a
Deposit Diving DDT on the baking pan.
The Banker looks at the camera and says he is coming for his title.
We
go back to the ring and everything has been cleaned up. It’s now time for our second contract
signing. GM Max McGillicutty is still in
the ring. First, the loudspeakers blare
out “GUMBO 7:30 MEANS ITS SUPPA TIME, BITCH” and out comes the King of HCW Rad
Gumbo. Gumbo is solo tonight as his
manager is not here. He makes his way to
the ring and enters. He climbs the
turnbuckle eliciting a pop from the crowd.
He goes to sit down at the table.
The music changes and we hear “Choppin Wood and lookin good’ and out
comes the World Champion Jack Lumber.
Jack shakes hands with the fans and stays an extra moment outside the
Lumber Lounge. He makes his way to the
ring and enters. He climbs the
turnbuckle and holds the title high. He
sits down opposite Rad. Max explains the
rules of the match and Gumbo leans in and says “Mon Ami, I defeated you once
before for this belt; this will be twice”.
Jack smiles and reminds Rad that he just lost the US title and even
though he won the battle royal, that doesn’t necessarily make him the #1
contender. Rad signs the contract and
Jack does likewise. Both men stand up
and walk to the center of the ring. Both
men smile at each other until Rad kicks Jack in the nether regions. The fans are SHOCKED and start to boo. He smacks Jack across the back and then stuns
the champ with some quick jabs before picking him up and slamming Jack hard on
the table. The table doesn’t break. Rad pulls Jack off the table and locks in the
Onion Lock. Jack struggled but ended up
passing out instead of tapping out. Rad
lets go and picks up the World title. He
says in 4 days, his arm will be raised in victory and this belt will be around
the waist of the REAL World Champion. He
drops the belt on Jack and leaves as the fans boo the hell out of him. Jack is helped up and taken to the back for
observation.
As
soon as Max made it behind the curtain, an enraged Maximillian Redbeard
approached. He said that even though the
PPV match is supposed to be one on one, he wants the Banker added to the match
making it a triple threat. Max agrees
and says Redbeard vs the Banker vs the winner between Dash and Dennis will be
for the TV title. Redbeard storms off.
While
all this was transpiring, the steel cage was being set up in the ring. Both matches will determine who will be
fighting for a title shot. As soon as
the cage was secure, our first co-main event is ready to get underway. First, Casper Wyoming comes out to a nice pop
from the crowd. He makes his way to the
ring and jumps up on the cage and ascends to the top. He gets a big pop as he descends into the
ring. The music changes abruptly and out
comes the Wicked Prophet. He is booed as
he makes his way to the ring. Before
entering through the cage door, he gets on the mic and tells Casper that if he
makes this a joke, it will be the most embarrassing moment of his career. If he takes this seriously, it could put him
on the map as a true contender. Prophet
enters the ring and the door is closed.
The bell rings and this one is ready to begin. As the match began, Prophet had control early
but heeding the words from Prophet, Casper turned it up and controlled the
match for most of 20 minutes. We now
join the match at the 21 minute mark.

end, the BEST man won. He says that
Casper is behind him now and Texas Wildfire and the US title are in his
sights. He tells Wildfire that he is
coming for that title.
Casper
gets a nice pop as he exits the ring and begins to make his way to the
back. He is blindsided by Apollo Gyze
who attacked him on the ramp. Apollo
dropped Casper with a DDT on the ramp.
Apollo grabs Casper by the foot and drags him to the back.
Well,
with that out of the way, it’s time for our other Main Event. First Dash Woodbrick makes his way out and
the fans boo the living hell out of him.
He laughs and makes his way to the ring.
He looks up at the cage wall and pretends he’s going to scale it but
then throws him hands up and enters through the door. Dash continues to mock the fans from the
(safety of the) steel cage. The music
changed and out comes Dennis Marshall.
Dennis rushes down to the ring and Dash immediately closes the door to
the cage. Dennis doesn’t care and begins
to scale the cage. He goes over the top
begins to make his way down to the ring.
Dash tries to cower but he has no place to hide. The bell rings and this one is off to the
races.
