ello fans and welcome back to another installment of the HCW Wrestling Newsletter. Tonight, we are proud to bring you day 1 of our Critical Mass PPV. Pyro goes off to kick off the event and the fans are practically hanging from the rafters. In a pre-taped message, GM Max McGillicutty comes out and says that he has some serious plans for the Ladies Championship on Day 2. Tonight, Hayley Hailstorm and J9 will meet in a one on one battle with the winner of the match going on to a Fatal Four way tomorrow…sans the champion. What that means is that the winner of the Hayley/J9 match will go up against Catalina Harper, Violet Valkyrie and Maxine DeVito in a Fatal Four Way where the victor will go on to meet Korbi Kong for the title in the Main Event. It’s any woman’s game at this point. Without further ado, let’s get this show on the road. (For the sake of brevity, only the last 5 minutes of each match will be posted but will be available in full for anyone who may want it.)
Pyro
goes off once again as the show officially kicks off. First, J9 makes her way out and the fans boo
the crap out of her. She flips them off
and laughs as she makes her way into the ring.
She gets on a mic and tells the stupid people to sit down and shut up
and watch perfection. When the fans
respond opposite the way she wanted, her upper lip curled in a sneer and glared
at them. The music changed and getting a
surprisingly loud pop is the ‘small but powerful’ Hailey Hailstorm. She stands on the stage as pyro goes off
around her. She crisscrosses the ramp
interacting with fans on both sides but as she goes to enter the ring, J9
attacks her stomping on her before she can enter the ring. The bell rings and as J9 goes for a DDT,
Hayley reverses it and nails the Death Valley Driver. She went for the quick pin but J9 kicked
right out. J9 immediately dropped Hayley
with a DDT and went for the pin but Hayley was close to the ropes and got her
foot on the bottom rope immediately. J9
held the advantage for a few minutes but then Hayley began battling back. We join the match at the 7 minute mark.

then we see someone sneak in through the crowd. It’s ‘Sassy’ Maxine DeVito. Maxine attacks Hayley while J9 distracts the
ref. Maxine smashed Hayley with a chair
across the back and then disappeared back into the sea of fans while the ref
started his count.

fans are pissed. J9 laughs and gets on a
mic. She says that tomorrow, she will defeat
the freaky cat lady and that obnoxious soccer mom Violet Valkyrie and either
she or Maxine will get the opportunity to move on. As long as one of them wins, she’s ok with
it. She leaves laughing. The ref goes to help Hayley up and helps her
to the back.
Backstage,
Anytime/Anywhere Champion Master Bull walks in to the arena. He is immediately blindsided by Apollo
Gyze. After knocking Bull down, Apollo
surprisingly backs off. He tells Bull he
wants an official match tomorrow if he can defeat the ‘luke-warm’ talent he has
tonight. Bull is seething but doesn’t
let his emotions get the better of him.
Out
next match is next. We secretly think
both teams wanted to be on the card so they set up an altercation between the
two of them so they could get some love on the biggest show of the year. First, the Regulators – Mammoth and Mule –
come out to a mixed reaction from the crowd.
They make their way to the ring and enter moving to their side of the
ring while they await their opponents.
Next, the music changes and out comes the Freedom Fighters – Flash and
Justice. They make their way to the ring
amid boos from the crowd. They enter the
ring and begin posing but the bell rings and this one gets underway. Both teams fought tooth and nail but neither
gave an inch. After a few near falls, we
entered the last couple minutes of the match where we join them now.

30 minutes, the match is declared a draw.
In
what turned out to be an entertaining match, these two teams took it to the
limit but time ran out resulting in a draw finish. There was no further altercation between the
four men and each team left separately.
Backstage,
GM Max McGillicutty says that J9’s cheap win is a win nonetheless and therefore
she is going to the fatal four way tomorrow.
“However, because of the interference from Maxine, tomorrow’s match will
have a caveat. If J9 or Maxine are
pinned, submit or get counted out resulting in a loss, they will be OUT of
HCW.” The fans listening to Max on the
Omegatron pop with their approval.
We
head back to the ring for our next match but before the wrestlers make their
way out, the cameraman sees something up in the rafters. It’s dark but we do see a flash of swirling
purple as the spotlights flash across the arena. Another look and it’s gone. Wonder what that was…
Back
at the ring, the opponent for tonight’s AA title match comes out. ‘Luke Warm’ Lucas Johnston, a former King and
‘red hot’ member of the HCW roster has fallen back to ‘meh’ status. Lucas gets a lukewarm reaction from the crowd
and he gets on the mic. He says that
tonight will be the start or end for him in HCW. If he wins the AA title, he begins anew
however if he loses, he will leave HCW.
The music changed and out comes the Anytime/Anywhere Champion Master
Bull. Bull gets a nice pop from the
crowd and he makes his way to the ring.
He gets into the ring and climbs the turnbuckle holding his title
high. He steps down and hands the title
to the ref. The bell rings.

Backstage,
Hardcore Champion Dr. Red Fang is with his manager the Ambassador. The Ambassador says that Dr. Red Fang was the
brainchild of a certain individual who knows his way around ‘the computer’ and
that Dr. Red Fang has resented him since; always feeling manipulated and forced
into odd conversations and being the butt of everyone’s jokes on chat boards. Tonight, that changes. Fang will take out his ‘creator’ tonight
showing the world that the world’s first diabolical vampire (bot) will usher in
a new world’s order. (Yeah, confusing to
us too).
Texas
Wildfire is being interviewed by Larry Morton.
Morton asks TW if he heard what Fang had to say. Wildfire says that he didn’t create Fang and
he didn’t manipulate him; anything on those ‘chat board’ was Fang (and most
likely the Ambassador’s) doing. Wildfire
says that Dr. Red Fang is a menace and that menace needs to be dealt with. Tonight, in Fang’s words, it’s the creation
vs the creator. If anyone will stop Fang
from running roughshot through HCW, it will be him. He walks off.
Our
next match, for the Hardcore title, is ready to begin. It is announced that the rules for this match
will be “Death Match rules”. Folks,
expect this one to get messy. First, the
challenger Texas Wildfire comes out to a huge pop from the crowd. He makes his way to the ring shaking hands
with the fans. He climbs in the ring and
surveys all the destructive material in the ring. Yes, there is no love loss between him and
Fang but is this taking things too far he wonders. His interlude is interrupted by “VAMPIRE
LUNGES FOR EVERYBODY ESPECIALLY TEXAS WILDFIRE” and out comes the Hardcore
Champion Dr. Red Fang. The Ambassador
accompanies Fang to the stage but remains there as the champion makes his way
to the ring. The ring announcer then
states that the only way to win this match will be via pinfall and because of
that, the time limit was removed and now there is no time limit so the two of
these men can beat the holy hell out of each other. Fang attacks after hitting the ring. This one was brutal so we are posting the
full results.

The
crowd pops huge as Texas Wildfire, bloodied and beaten has his arm raised in
victory and is handed the Hardcore title.
Dr. Red Fang is taken to the back on a stretcher. Wildfire cleans himself up and stays to
celebrate with the fans before making his way to the back to seek medical
attention to get himself cleaned up.
Tommy
Lightning, ‘the Bounty Hunter’ Jake Montrose and Apollo Gyze are
backstage. Tommy says that tonight,
after years of abuse at the hands of the Steel Curtain, he gets revenge. With Jake and Apollo at his side, they will
capture the 6 Man Tag Team titles and will rule HCW as the greatest 6 man team
ever. Apollo says that he will walk out
of the Critical Mass PPV with two titles…a co-holder of the 6 man and Sunday,
when he defeats Master Bull, he’ll also hold the Anytime/Anywhere title and he
for sure will not apologize for doing it.
Larry
Morton is with the 6 Man Tag Team Champions.
Buzz says that ever since Tommy jumped on their bandwagon, he’s been
resentful that he would never be as good as them. Biceps said that Tommy was only a placeholder
for when he returned. If he’s thinking
of himself in any form beyond that, he is delusional. Starbuck says that the Curtain will walk out
with the titles and asks “IF YOU SMEL….” but Buzz cuts him off. “Dude, we can’t say that; it’s
trademarked. We can’t say ‘WHATCHA GONNA
DO’ either as someone has that one. I
guess we have only one thing to say:” (Buzz and Starbuck lean in) “WORD”. They walk off and Biceps mumbles “Oh hell
yeah” and leaves.
It
is time for our main event with the 6 Man titles on the line. First, Tommy Lightning and ‘the Bounty
Hunter’ Jake Montrose come out to massive boos but they only get louder when
Apollo joins them after hearing “APOLLO GYZE DON’T APOLOGIZE”. The three men make their way to the ring with
lots of name calling going on. Tommy
threatens to hit a few fans but Jake holds him back and tells him to save it
for the match. They get in the ring and
continue to taunt the fans until the music changed and out comes the 6 Man Tag
Team Champions Starbuck and Buzz Steel and Biceps Bannerman. The three stand tall on the stage and then
make their way to the ring. Biceps
enters by stepping over the top rope.
Buzz and Starbuck slide underneath the bottom rope and Tommy and crew
jump out the other side of the ring. The
champs each hold a belt and climb different turnbuckles getting the crowd more
and more excited. Once the belts were
given to the ref, Tommy and crew enter the ring. The match begins. This one made it to the 10 minute mark before
Tommy, getting hurled out of the ring, went to grab a chair and smashed Biceps
with it resulting in a disqualification.
Buzz got on the mic and says that he doesn’t want it ending this way. He asks the ref to restart the match. The ref agrees.
