HCW Wrestling Newsletter 2020 (Year 16) - #878– Welcome to 2021 (01/03/21) – Year in Review

Hello fans and welcome to HCW’s Wrestling Newsletter.  Today, we enter the 16^th year of publishing our newsletter and this year will be no different in bringing you the news from the world of professional wrestling.  In today’s issues, we will do a 2020 year in review as well as a look into 2021.

2020 year in review: 

As we look at how 2020 came to an end, we look at a couple of departures.  Both Shawn ‘Abs of Stone’ Austin and 5^th Column member Karl Braun have both left the company.  Baron von Blood, the leader of the Column, was asked if Karl was going to be replaced and he said that at the moment, he and Oswald would continue as a tag team.  When asked about Shawn Austin’s departure, his former tag team partner Perfect Pecs Stoddard only had one thing to say:  “Good Riddance”. 

 Also at the end of 2020, we saw that both J9 and ‘Sassy’ Maxine DeVito both lost their jobs and should have been fired however in a last ditch effort, Maxine gave herself and J9 pardons so after a 2 month hiatus, they will both be allowed to return to active competition.

The Masked Banana is no more.  It was officially revealed that the King of HCW the Wicked Prophet had been masquerading as the fan favorite.  He said that it was done to play with the mind of Jack Lumber eventually costing Jack the World title.  

On the subject of Jack Lumber, former fan-favorite Drew the Canadian Love Machine viciously attacked Jack after his match with the Wicked Prophet.  Drew had this to say about his actions:  “Jack Lumber, you think you are the top dog in HCW.  I was selling out stadiums in the main event years before you came on the scene.  You think that you can take the top spot in HCW without paying your dues, think again.  The fans are not happy with me.  Tough shit.  Grow up.  If you losers want to support that flannel wearing moron, go right ahead.  Lumber, you want me in the ring, you know where to find me.”

After his successful match in helping GM Max McGillicutty regain control, Master Bull had talked about retiring from the ring.  Dash Woodbrick, one half of the World Tag Team Champions, actually talked him out of it.  Dash says he and Bull still have unfinished business and Bull needs to see it through to the end or forever be known as a coward.

At the end of the PPV, we saw Madman Mason attack the US Champion Rad Gumbo and kidnap his manager Ms. Alexandria.  Mason says that if Gumbo ever wants to see his manager again, he will meet him in the ring again.

With departures out of the way, we can discuss our first arrival of 2021.  Having trained in the famous ‘Hart Dungeon’ up in Calgary comes Derek Deveraux.  He is anxious to have his first match which will take place on the first live show of the year.

Ladies Champion Korbi Kong is a woman of few words.  When asked about how she’ll respond to the treachery from her former friend Violet Valkyrie, all she did was pick up a pencil and then with two fingers, snapped it in half dropping both pieces to the floor.  Violet may have stirred up a hornet’s nest.
