Hello fans and welcome back to another installment of the HCW Wrestling Newsletter. The first show of 2021 kicks off with GM Max McGillicutty making his way out to a huge pop from the crowd. He thanks the fans for their support in 2020 and looks forward to a fantastic 2021. Max says that Scooter J will have to defend the Anytime/Anywhere title on the show today and Rad Gumbo will be defending the US title in the main event. It is expected he will have words for Madman Mason and the abduction of Gumbo’s manager Ms. Alexandria. He thanks the fans again and turns to leave so the show can get started.
Our
first match is ready to get underway.
First, Bishop Ripley comes out to booing from the crowd. He sneers at them and makes his way to the
ring. He continues to incite the crowd
until the music changed and out comes the newest edition to HCW Derek
Deveraux. Deveraux gets a decent pop
from the crowd as the fans are not yet sure of what to make of him. He shakes hands with the fans as he makes his
way to the ring and they start to warm up to him. He gets into the ring but Ripley immediately
attacks him getting this match started.

gets the win and the fans get behind him.
He shakes hands with the fans briefly before heading to the back.
Backstage,
the Anytime/Anywhere Champion Scooter J is with his ‘muscle’ TNT. Scooter J complains that he once again is
being forced to defend a title before he’s ready. His opponent for the evening Superstar Chic
Monroe walks in and mocks Scooter J for trying to weasel out of their
match. TNT takes offense and attacks
Monroe beating him down. Scooter J then
says they need to do this match now. TNT
drags Chic to the ring while Scooter J smugly walks to the ring. TNT then rolls Monroe in and tells the ref to
start the match. The ref then ejects TNT
from ringside. TNT complains but
leaves. Scooter J gets the advantage
early but as the match wore on, Monroe began making a comeback. About 14 minutes in, Scooter J rammed Chic’s
shoulder into the steel post and the match swayed back his way. Scooter J hit Chic with back to back
superkicks but didn’t go for the pin.
Instead, he helped him to his feet and leveled him with a
clothesline. He then made the cover and
got the 3 count. Scooter J is victorious
in his first win of 2021. The fans booed
and mocked him but he showboated instead and eventually left. (22 min)
Backstage,
‘the Bounty Hunter’ Jake Montrose says he accepted a contract. Tonight, he’s being paid to take out the
Cajun Rad Gumbo. The bonus…if he wins,
he gets to keep the US title. Montrose
says he’s always wanted some bling.
We
get ready for the next match. First, HCW
twin Betsy Cummings comes out with her twin Felicia. The duo are booed as they head to the
ring. The twins flip the fans off and
that only gets them more riled up.
Felicia remains at ringside as Betsy enters. Goldie Locks comes out to a nice pop from the
crowd and makes her way into the ring.
Felicia taunts her from ringside trying to get into her head. It didn’t work. Goldie makes short work of Betsy getting her
to submit to the Twin City Twister Surfboard in only 4 minutes. Felicia helped her sister to the back while
Goldie stayed a few moments to talk to the fans.
Backstage,
Bishop Ripley complains to GM Max McGillicutty that Deveraux cheated and wanted
another match with him tonight or he will sue (not sure what for). Max says he’ll talk to Derek to see if he’s
in.
The
Smashers vs Adam Jameson & Billy Robbins is up next. First, Adam and Billy made their way out to a
nice pop from the fans. Next, the
Smashers came out taunting and threatening to hit the fans as they made their
way to ringside. The Smashers go right
on the offensive but Adam and Billy went toe to toe with them. At the 12 minute mark, the Smashers injure
Adam and for 5 minutes, he was out of the picture but Billy kept plugging away
much to the shock of the Smashers. Adam
finally recovered and re-entered the match.
At the 25 minute mark, the Smasher injure Billy and take him out of the
equation but Adam turned up the ferocity a notch and took the fight to the
Smashers. Finally, at the 30 minute
mark, the bell rings bringing this one to a time limit draw. Adam went to help Billy and the Smashers took
that moment to get the hell out of there.
Billy and Adam left moments later.

Derek
Deveraux make his way out to the ring and calls out Bishop Ripley. He says he’s here if he wants to continue
what was started earlier. Bishop comes
out and marches down to the ring. The
bell rings as soon as he’s in and this was a very short match with Deveraux
dominating and getting the win in just 5 minutes with a release powerbomb. Bishop sulked to the back while Deveraux
interacted with the fans before heading to the back. (5 min)
Baron
von Blood runs into Master Bull backstage and mockingly asks if he’s changed
his mind about quitting. Bull starts to
get worked up and tells Baron they can settle this right now in the ring. Bull makes his way to the ring.
Master
Bull comes out to a nice pop from the crowd.
He gets in the ring and asks for a mic.
He says that if the roster is going to keep asking him if he’s retiring,
well, he has news for each and every one of them…He’s not going anywhere. He hands the mic off as Baron von Blood makes
his way out and down to the ring to a chorus of booing from the fans. He gets in the ring and the match starts
almost immediately. Another short match
saw that after only 4 minutes of getting peppered with lefts and rights, Bull
hurled Baron out of the ring. Baron
threw his hands up and walked to the back.
The ref counted to 10 and counted Baron out awarding the match to Master
Bull via count out. He began celebrating
with the fans until a fan jumped the ringside barrier and attacked Bull. He removed his hood and it’s…Dash Woodbrick, ½
of the World Tag Team Champions. He is
immediately joined by his tag team partner Apollo Gyze and they collectively
beat Bull down until a bunch of people from the back came out to stop the
attack. Dash and Apollo feel their
message was delivered and they leave without further incident. Bull gets to his feet and has a very
determined look on his face. (4 ½ min
for the match; 5 for the aftermath)
Backstage,
the US Champion ‘the Ragin Cajun’ Rad Gumbo is really ragin. “Mon Ami…You are paid to try to take me out
and take my title in da process? Nope,
nope, nope. I know dat Madman Mason is
behind dis. Mason, I want my manager
back. Return her now or face someone da
likes you’ve never seen before.” Gumbo
heads to the ring for the main event.
It’s
time for our main event. First, the
Bounty Hunter Jake Montrose makes his way out to a chorus of boos from the crowd.
He ignores most of them. He gets in the ring and continues to incite
the fans. The loudspeakers blare “7:30
MEANS ITS SUPPA TIME, BITCH” and the fans pop HUGE as the Ragin Cajun makes his
way out. He doesn’t stop to interact
with the fans but instead rushes down to the ring. Montrose sees this locomotive heading his way
so he jumps out of the ring trying to slow things down. It doesn’t work. Gumbo goes right after him and chases him
back into the ring. The bell rings as
Gumbo re-enters but Montrose attacks him.
Montrose’s advantage does not last long as the enraged Cajun beats the
snot out of the Bounty Hunter. We join
the match at the 13 minute mark.

Rad
Gumbo is victorious and retains the title.
His celebration is cut short when Madman Mason attacks him beating him
down. Mason plants Gumbo with 2
consecutive power bombs and then hits him with the Psychotic Break. Mason picks up the US title and stands over
Gumbo holding it high and laughing. The
fan’s booing resounds throughout the building and Mason just soaks it in as the
show comes to an end.
