Hello wrestling fans and welcome back to another installment of HCW’s Tacoma Thunder. Our show begins today back in the office of GM Max McGillicutty. Max is talking to someone. He says that reporters Clarkus Kentus and Larry Morton have had life changes and that they were not going to be around HCW much anymore. Max asks our mysterious person if he is up to the challenge of taking on the position of lead interviewer. The camera pans and we get to see the new guy. “Of course I am” he replies. “Listen, you’ve had some great people in the past but I can give you four reasons why I’m best suited for the job. 1…Dell-liver. I will produce. 2…Dell-legate…I do it all. I don’t need anyone to do the job for me. 3…Dell-licately…I ask the hard questions and don’t care if someone’s feelings get hurt. 4…Dell-lightful…who doesn’t want to be around me?” Max stands up and extends his hand. “You’re hired. Welcome on board…err, what is your name?” The mystery guy shakes Max’s hand. “The Wicked Prophet…at your service”. Max says that the Wicked Prophet goes live tonight so he can grab a mic and go do his thing.
Pyro goes off to kick off our show. The fans pop as the cameras and spotlights pan the crowd. Our first match begins as a placement challenge. First the challengers come out. Ghee Buttersnaps and Ovaltine Jackson make their way out to a nice reception from the crowd. Tonight, they are challenging to move up the tag team rankings. Next, the team they are challenging come out and the fans pop as the Steel Curtain (Buzz and Starbuck Steel) make their way down to the ring. Once in the ring, the 4men shake hands and the match begins. The Steel Curtain controlled the entire pace of the match but 10 minutes in, both Ovaltine and Ghee got injured. Starbuck hits the Buckinator and goes for the pin but somehow Ovaltine kicks out. Starbuck then took him around and hit the Round the World (4 turnbuckles) and Ovaltine just dropped to the mat. Starbuck made the cover and got the 3 count. The Steel Curtain retain their spot in the top 10 lineup. Buck and Buzz go to check on their opponents and they seem to be ok. The crowd pops for all 4 men and they head to the back. (11 min)
We head back to Max’s office and he lets us know that there is a bit of a roster shake up going on and that two trades have been made. Max says that Texas Wildfire is being moved to Tacoma but will still be part of the 6 Man Tag Team Champions. In exchange, Phoenix Heat receives Dr. Red Fang so that he and the Unknown Assassin can continue their feud on the same ground.
We head back to the ring for our next match. First, Bob ‘Powder’ Keg comes out as the Omegatron lights up with a powder keg exploding. Bob heads to the ring and the fans boo him. Next, Protocide comes out and the fans pop for him. We’re still trying to determine who he is but we know that he and Hardcore Hensen have a past. Protocide enters the ring and the fans applaud but he is attacked by Bob. Surprisingly, Bob went toe to toe with Protocide for the entire match and it looked like this one was going to go the distance but Protocide locked in the Super Soldier Test of Strength and in an exhaustive state, Bob had no choice but to say I quit. Protocide releases him as the bell rings. He gets the win via submission. The fans pop for him but immediately turn sour when Hardcore Champion Hardcore Hensen attacks him dropping him with the Hard Times. Hensen stands over Protocide and puts the boots to him. He picks him up stunning him with a kneelift to the jaw followed by a powerslam. Hensen once again stood over him as the fans showered him in booing and hissing and Hensen eventually left. Protocide had to be helped to the back. (19 min for the match; 5 for the aftermath)
We cut to the GM’s office again and this time Max reveals the contents of his call with Master Bull. They decided to do a 12 person Elimination chamber match consisting of 6 men from each team and a Six ladies chamber match. There will be a total of 12 matches to determine who will go to the chamber. The way it will play out is that the person who LOSES their match will go into the chamber. Then, each team’s careers will be on the line and the league whose team is eliminated will have their contracts terminated. Each federation will be responsible for conducting their own matches. The dual chamber match will take place at an offsite location TBD. For the grand prize, the last man standing will get a shot at the title of his choosing and the final woman standing gets a shot at the Ladies title. It’s a pretty bold move for HCW and we look forward to how it plays out.
We head back to the ring for our ladies match. First, Felicia Cummings make her way out to the ring and the crowd boos her all the way. Next, fog fills the stage and out comes Violet Valkyrie…walking down to the ring. It seemed that the zip lining was causing major insurance headaches so those entrances will be reserved for the big shows. The fans pop regardless and she high fives them as she heads to the ring. For about 8 minutes, Violet and Felicia were going toe to toe. Violet then connected with a baseball slide kick that sent Felicia tumbling out of the ring. Violet kept the pressure on ended up hitting a diving back elbow on Felicia. Violet went for the pin and got the 1-2-3. The referee raised her hand and just as she was getting ready to celebrate, Vanilla Zombie hit the ring but Violet saw her coming and used Zombie’s own momentum to send her flying over the top rope to the floor. The fans popped again. Vanilla gave Violet some evil looks and backed up the ramp to the back. Violet eventually left. (12 min)
Wicket Prophet interview: “Ladies and Gentlemen, I am the Wicked Prophet and I tell it like it is; no holds barred. HCW has granted me access to conduct interviews as I see fit. You might ask, who my first interviewee might be. The Steel Curtain? Nope. Hardcore Champion Hardcore Hensen? Again, a big ol’ negatory. My first guess is the guy who is the crown jewel of HCW and he is none other than the Ragin Cajun and World Champion King Rad Gumbo.” Gumbo walks into the shot.
WP: King Rad, thanks for meeting me today.
RG: You know, it’s nice to see HCW drop some change and hire someone with some talent.
WP: Thank you your Lordship. Now, tonight, you are in a non-title defense. Does it make sense to not just defend the title and put another tick mark in the win column?
RG: HCW must be running out of people for me to fight as the best they can give me is Jesse California. Well I’m sorry but Jesse is not worthy of a title shot. In fact, when I get through with him, he may not be worthy of a place on the roster.
WP: King Gumbo, that says it all. Again, thanks for taking the time to speak with me today and go kick some ass.
RG: Keep spreading the good word, Prophet.
That was your World Champion. Next, I will be heading down to Phoenix to interview the one and only Apollo Gyze. Be sure to tune in for that one as I’m sure he will have a lot to say after his suspension.”
Our next match is ready to go. Jesse California makes his way out to a small pop from the crowd. Next, the music changes and out comes HCW’s King and World Champion the Ragin Cajun Rad Gumbo with Queen Alexandria. The duo are booed heavily but neither seem to care. Jesse starts off with a swinging neckbreaker. Gumbo fights back with the “Where ya at” quick jabs. Jesse drops the King with a DDT. Gumbo goes for the Bourbon Street Blues but Jesse nullifies it. Gumbo tries again and this time connects with the BSB twice but Jesse connects with a shoulder jaw breaker. Gumbo hits the BSB again and this time goes for a pin but Jesse kicks out at 2. Queen Alexandria gets up on the apron and distracts Jesse. Gumbo sneaks up from behind and rolls him up using both the ropes for leverage and a handful of tights. The ref makes the count and gets to 3 before Jesse could kick out. King Rad gets the win and he immediately leaves. Gumbo and Alexandria laugh all the way to the back. Jesse stews for a few moments before also leaving. (8 min).
Backstage, there is a commotion where Ivan Dragovich is attacking Davis Hoffmeister with his chain. Davis has a few weapons of his own and manages to deflect most of the chain shots. Security rush over and Ivan takes off. Davis seems to be ok however this is only escalating between the two of them.
In the interview area, TV Champion Nix Anderson is with his manager ‘the Singapore Sensation’ Matt Preacher and Preacher states that Ice Dagger is going to be just another victim for the champ. Nix chimes in and says that being the TV champion gives him more exposure over any other champion. He will dull the Dagger and then hop into the Jacuzzi.
It’s time for our TV title match. First, Ice Dagger makes his way down to the ring to his tune “Ice Dagger, Baby” (the blatant rip off of Ice Ice Baby) and the fans boo him. He gets into the ring and the music changes. Out comes the TV Champion Nix Anderson and he is accompanied by his manager Matt Preacher. Ice Dagger managed to control the entire pace of the match and Nix looked like a complete rookie who was having his first match. Fortunately for him, his manager was able to break up pin attempts or provide distractions as the precise times it was needed the most. This dragged on for 20 minutes and before we knew it, the bell rang bringing this one to a draw finish. Nix immediately rolled out of the ring, grabbed his title and he and his manager went to the back. The fans booed at the lousy finish but Nix was just happy he still had his title. (20 min draw) Nix almost made it to the back until his pathway was blocked by TNT and Scooter J. TNT hit Preacher with a punch that dropped him to the floor. Scooter J and TNT then go after Nix beating him down but he manages to run off. The fans pop as TNT and Scooter J salute the fans and then leave.
Backstage, the International Title of France title holder Jacques Beannot waits in the interview area but neither his manager (who was still with Nix) nor the Wicked Prophet were around to handle the segment and Jacques is not happy he has to hold his own microphone. Preacher makes it over and Jacques questions what kind of establishment makes a champion conduct his own interviews. He says that the frustration he is feeling right now will be taken out on Travis Ryzing whether or not he likes it. Jacques then storms off. In walks Vanilla Zombie and she motions for Preacher to speak for her. Matt says that Vanilla is tired of Violet’s interference and wants to challenge her to two matches. The first will give the winner the choice of stipulation for the 2nd match to be held at the PPV. The Wicket Prophet walks by and gets yelled at by Preacher for not doing his job. The Prophet looks at the two of them and keeps walking but stops, turns and says “Oh yeah, Violet said she’d accept” and he turned and walked away leaving Vanilla Zombie and Matt Preacher staring after him.
It’s now time for our main event. First, the challenger Travis ‘Dark Storm’ Ryzing comes out to a mixed reaction from the crowd. Next, the ITF Champion Jacques Beannot comes out with his manager Matt Preacher and the duo are booed as they head down to the ring. This one did not go well for Travis and Jacques was correct in his statement that he was taking out his frustrations on Ryzing. The storm came from Jacques and he really turned up the heat on poor Travis. Travis tried to fight back connecting with a superkick but Jacques let the momentum carry him to the corner where he climbed the turnbuckles and then launched with a flying body press. Jacques connected and hooked the leg to avoid over shooting the mark and the ref counted 1-2-3. Jacques gets the win and retains his title in dominating fashion. The show comes to an end with Jacques holding his title high with the fans booing him in the background.
Thanks for reading. Our next show will actually be posted on Tuesday instead of Wednesday net week and then the next show after that will be Tacoma’s airing on 10/10. Things are really starting to heat up so stay tuned.
